    1. Super Mario Galaxy (again)

      by , 08-04-2010 at 10:14 PM (Hidden's Dream Journal)
Wow, I haven't posted in a long time.

There were a bunch of little planets clustered together (like in Super Mario Galaxy). I jumped between them and eventually came to a larger planet with lava an platforms. I had to be careful not to move from the position I was in (the same position I'd fallen asleep in) so that I wouldn't break out of my trance.

This is like my 4th dream about SMG in the past two nights. >.>
    2. Big Fish 8-4-10

      by , 08-04-2010 at 10:05 PM
In the dream I was outside a military base, walking along the side of a lake or large pond. I stepped out onto this little wooden area that was several feet above the water. From there I saw this huge fish. It was probably large enough to swallow me whole. It wasnt a shark or catfish. It looked more like a gold fish but it wasnt golden. It remember it was dark but had different colours. It was swimming around and jumping out of the water, and it spoke, but I dont remember what it said. There was also another creature there, a manatee or something. I enjoyed watching the massive fish.

    3. Dogs, Cardboard school, traffic?

      by , 08-04-2010 at 09:32 PM
So i was in a nieghborhood , very small, more like a raod, and there was a circle of trees, and this dirt road was curving out of sight, and across that road was a schoolhouse and houses. I was looking around for something, and saw my skipperkey, Pepper, running around, and my cousins shih-tzu Teddy, running around on the othe side of the road. I wanted to get to my Peppers, so i started running across the road (Where there were cars speeding down it at like 100 mph every two seconds) And shouting'Peppers, come here!!!!' but they wouldn'tlisten. so i stopped on the other side of the road, and suddenly Pepper and teddy were two anime-like little girls with razor slashed bangs with long, straight (evil looking ) hair that i was babysitting, and they wanted to play. So i went to the school's playground, where a few kids were making two sky-scraper schools(they looked like really tall, cardboard doghouses without the roofs and complete with the doggy doors) and picked them up and thought (all the sudden it was third person and i was looking at myself carrying a tall stack of boxes that reached the sky) That i would have to cut them down because the girls wouldnt be able to climb in the bedrooms way up high.(?) and thus, my dream ended.

    4. 29/07/2010 - Accidental Girlfriend

      by , 08-04-2010 at 08:11 PM
      Accidental girlfriend

I'm in a house full of people, all family and friends of my girlfriend. However my girlfriend is my real life ex's sister, and the worst bit is that I don't know which girl she is. So without wanting to lose face I try to navigate a busy house and try to figure out who's my girlfriend. I don't even want a girlfriend – how did this happen?

I walk around giving pre-emptive smiles to pretty girls, trying a process of elimination, deflecting questions from her family about me and her. I finally think I've figured out who I think it is and call her name, she glares at me, wrong girl. The right girl however is behind me and didn't see my mistake. She leaps at me with a hug and plants a kiss on me. Ok, problem solved, I guess she's my girlfriend. She's quite hot, long blonde hair (I prefer brunettes), tall but not taller than me. She looks like a mash up of all the blonde mainstream actresses.

It turns out she came into my room while I was asleep, woke me up and asked to be my girlfriend. In my confused state I say yes and run to the bathroom to pee.

We blow the party off and go for a walk on the seafront. I've no idea where in the country we are but it feels southern, quite well to do. The populous look like aristocratic stock. It's dark, evidentally not a massive town, very little light pollution, I can see way more stars than in Leeds. We walk along but nowhere's really open. We stop for a smooch on the doorstep of a jewellers, white tiled floor, it's door facing the adjoining McDonalds.

When we're finished we go into McDonalds but think better of it and leave, finding a small porch with a white tiled floor, the doors of the two businesses facing towards each other. Still hungry we go into the other door.

Inside is a small, shabby, windowless room, a long Formica table nearly fills the space, there's maybe two feet between it and the wall. The only light is from a small TV in the corner, a grimy blue glow, eyes just able to see in the gloom. The air feels heavy and cloying. I'm sure this was very recently a living room in a shabby bedsit. We're knelt at the table, she's snuggled against me, content in our new home together.

A customer walks in, dressed in a worn grey kimono. He orders the prawn noodles. I blink, realising I'm the chef in this debacle of a business. Problem is, I have no idea what I'm doing despite the massive menu we apparently offer. I look at the pictures in the menu for inspiration and turn to my stove, a crappy little camping stove, it's flame barely visible even in the gloom. I muddle around with a few ingredients, constantly scrutinised by the customer. He wasn't buying it, this super sleuth didn't believe I was a chef.

    5. 24/07/2010 - Cats and Cobbles

      by , 08-04-2010 at 08:08 PM
      Cats and cobbles

I'm at work in the skatepark, the car park's been replaced with a cobbled courtyard. Outside it's night, some of the regulars are dressed as boy scouts, all crowded round a tall campfire. They've set up a tight rope over the fire, each taking it in turns to walk the rope and do tricks; somersaults and spins. As the fire spreads to the rope's support the line droops, becoming a slack line. The boys carry on, using it to add variation to their tricks, swinging in and out of the flames.

Nearby are some talent scouts who've temporarily moved into the park, watching the guys on the rope, head hunting for the next big thing in skateboarding. I think I slept with one of them (women in skateboarding tend to come in two varieties:sour faced and stuck up or bubbly, busty and game)

I start to have a look round and see the cobbled street extends further back, tall tudor houses with flower boxes line each side. Bright white plaster and painted black wood set an idyllic scene, the sun now high in the sky, locals milling around a market, a few tourists dotted amongst them.

From one of the doors steps three clay animals, no more than a foot tall. Cartoon-esque, grey all over, one cat and two others I don’t remember. After milling about the market the cat was adopted by Quagmire from family guy. However he already had a bitch of a girlfriend and another cat creature, more advanced, futuristic and sleek, filled with servos and wires.

      [fragment missing]

Quagmire’s house is pretty impressive, modern and expensive inside. In this particular room was the gym. The floor had a large raised area with wide french windows that looked out over the town. No need for curtains, the room was high enough to be hidden from view of the street. Exotic pot plants were dotted around between mini bars and modern sculptures. The lower section had state of the art gym equipment, chrome treadmills, weights, crosstrainers and a large mirror that led onto a steam room no doubt. In the night however, the room muted blue as moonlight streamed in through the large windows, the bitch girlfriend decided to try off the cat. She lunged for it, throwing it onto the tread mill. As it sailed through the air in slow motion the camera swooped low framing the cat in a close up and the woman, psychotic, in the background. To their surprise though, especially the cat’s, a single small sturdy dagger thunked out of each paw in place of claws. It landed on the treadmill and kept upright, maintaining purchase with it’s claws as it ran, thunk, thunk, thunk. In keeping up with the treadmill it survived, growing stronger and survived the night.

    6. #122. Waiting for a Train...

by , 08-04-2010 at 07:37 PM (Things to Run Away From Really Fast)
      08/04/10

I'm driving my dad's old Ford truck, trying to get out of town. I'm not sure if I'm in Ixburg or Quickton, but I'm driving west (along the north road from Ixburg, what) so I can go watch the sunset on a hill. The hill apparently has a car wash, which I'm grateful for, because the interior of the car is soaked in blood. I'm driving on the right-hand side of the car, and the blood from the seat is seeping into my t-shirt. Another truck passes me on the west side, because I can't accelerate fast enough.

At this point, I'm definitely driving down the highway through Quickton. I turn back onto the highway and start driving west. Until suddenly I'm not. I'm walking through the west side of town, my feet crunching over packed white snow. Then, for some reason, I'm walking along on my knees. A woman appears and asks what's wrong, but I don't remember what I told her.

We both notice a smell in the air, some lemony entree that seems to be coming from a building. The woman says that the building is hers, but that I should come in out of the cold. I go inside and notice that the building is Curves, a women's gym.

I look at one of the walls, covered in recipes for low fat foods. I'm reading one for french toast that says to saturate the bread in olive oil. And that's it. A plate appears in front of me and I try it. It tastes like corn syrup, but the bread is soggy.

I turn around and see my martial arts instructor from Halifax. I remember that I had to tell him I wasn't coming to karate class (though he doesn't teach karate...), but the man tells me just to show up and do what I can.

The scene shifts and I'm looking at a room with tall glass pillars and holograms. From a third person POV, I'm watching Neal, Peter, and Diana go through a training exercise. Neal is hanging back, looking nervous (I think I've had this dream before). Diana goes crashing through one of the glass pillars, and is suddenly falling several stories, flailing her arms.

As Neal, I run to the edge of the floor, which has suddenly disappeared. I look for a way to help Diana, but there's nothing. In the next moment, her body is laying on the floor at an odd angle, blood oozing from a wound on her head.

Then we're standing around the body, the floor having repaired itself, but glass still everywhere. We're beginning an investigation. Someone's writing on a notepad, and Peter is calmly explaining the next steps in our investigation.

There's a montage of people in animal costumes, climbing the outside of glass buildings and waving at the people inside.

I wake up and attempt to WILD, but fall asleep immediately.

I'm walking along the service road, watching the train tracks carefully. The train tracks have replaced the highway that runs through town. I plan to jump onto a train going west. I'm not sure where I'm going, but I have enough money for a bus ticket to get back. I don't think I plan on coming back, though.

I'm walking, now, with three other guys who have the same plan. One of them is a guy I knew from high school. We chat amicably, planning, and trying to figure out what kind of container would be easiest to get into. We also discuss our exit, saying that it'll be dark when we get wherever we're going, and that we'll have to jump from the train before we get into town, because the security there is too tight.

There's a train driving along the road with other traffic, getting ready to merge into the train tracks. The train looks just like the one in Inception, but the jagged pattern is a dark yellow. This isn't the train we want.

I imagine jumping onto a lit stretch of concrete, only to have it turn out to be water, covered in ice. I fall into the water, crashing through the ice, and try to get to shore. I have to climb over thin ice, though -

I snap back into the present. We get ice cream from a vendor, and I'm trying to find a bathroom before we leave. I spot the train in the distance, though, and all four of us are running for the train tracks.

Waiting for a Train. Scare Factor: 4.
    7. Pregnancies and Weird Cars

      by , 08-04-2010 at 06:42 PM
In the first dream I was pregnant, and usually in a dream this would cause the people around me to be upset since I am not married or of an age to be pregnant yet, but apparently i was old enough and married to a guy who i had only talked to online. After telling my whole family about my good news, i realized i had never seen my husband, and never would for some reason. I then had to face the reality of being a single parent.

I don't remember much about the second dream I had, and I know there were some emotions in there but I cant remember what they were...I was walking to a purple square shaped car with my mom to go home from something, and when we got in it turned into this sort of table thing...it's hard to explain but i was across from my mom and facing her and my mom was driving so i was facing backwards and she was facing forward so she could drive. i remember being worried about how safely my mom was driving since we were having a conversation and she was looking at me...

It seems like almost every element of these dreams came from something that happened in my day..for example that day i was babysitting for a woman who was in the hospital delivering her baby. I guess this just shows how fantastic my imagination is if i cant create original dreams :/

    8. Flooding and Snakes

by , 08-04-2010 at 06:33 PM (The Inner Crazy of Mr Speesh)
      Lucid: Nope
      Dream Aids: Calea Zacatechichi, Melatonin
      Vividness: Not great

      Dreamsign
      Lucidity

I tried Calea for the third time. The first two times all it really did was keep me awake too long. Nothing happened to my dreams. This time was no different. Guess its just not my thing. Maybe I'll give it one more try in the future with a larger dose, but I doubt I'll buy it again.

I was in a wooded area by a large river, a very scenic spot. It didn't stay that way for long though. Clouds quickly rolled over and the sky split open with rain. The river quickly started to flood. I was with a random DC that I don't really remember who pointed out a multitude of snakes coming out of the lake. None of them looked the same either. They had really cool colorful patterns on them, and some of them were massive.

We ran away up towards a nearby wooden lodge to take cover in. I went up to the roof on a third floor to watch the elevating water level. There were a bunch of other people out there bungee jumping. It looked like a lot of fun so I joined them. By the time we were finished the sun was back out again, and there was a few feet of water on the ground level. I took out a rubber raft and explored the post-flood river. For some reason there were tons of exotic animals there like zebras and elephants. The dream ended shortly thereafter though.

    9. Aug 4 2010 - Medley of Lucidity (DILD)

by , 08-04-2010 at 06:21 PM (Mah Journal)
In the first dream, I was trying to make a smore. I had a graham cracker in my hand. I roasted a marshmallow over a few coals, and then smeared in on my cracker. When I turned around and then looked back, it had turned to chocolate. I bit into it and realized that I was without the marshmallow. The chocolate sure tasted good though. I reached for another marshmallow, but then it ended.

Then I was it some sort of sci-fi cartoonish maze thing. It was much like WoW, but with sci-fi buildings. The building was a bright yellow and orange everywhere. I was trying to do something with some other people. Then suddenly I was lucid.

Somehow I had gotten out of the orange hall. I saw that there were 3 other similar hallways that met, though they were seperated by a large gap. I jumped off and flew to the others to investigate them. When I finally got to the last one, it resembled a big arena with many people. At the "stage" there was some giant mechanical thing. The name "Ultimate Monster" hovered over it.

I then jumped down from the platform. From here it was a sunny day. There was water that was a clear blue. I landed on it, and walked on top of it. I then jumped around and did back flips. A few times I went under the water.

Then the dream faded, but I DEILDed back into one. I can't remember what I did, but V and someone else were there.

Then I was back at my non-lucidity. I was with my sister, and apparently taking over some restaurant from some grandfather or something. It was my first day and I was acting as both waitress and cook. I had all these orders and I fumbled to cook them correctly. Some of them included Seafood linguine, a sausage, and some other meat with some sauce. I then realized that the sauce I had made hadn't actually been ordered. I decided to put it on the seafood linguine. I tasted it and thought it was fine, so I sent it out. After they had finished, they wanted the bill. I then realized that no one had left us any menus or price sheets. The lady that had the linguine had a sheet with all the apparent prices written out on it. It was white paper, seemingly written with a sharpie. At the end, the total came to around 26 dollars.

I was annoyed at the end of the "day". I said that I could have done much better if we actually had the menus we were supposed to have. My sister agreed, but I didn't know if she was actually agreeing or if she was disappointed in me.

Then I was in the next dream again, lucid again. I was in a parking lot with some people. I wasn't sure what to do. Then I made a pretend pistol with my hand, and pretended to shoot it. "Pew!" I said. Then a bullet shot out and hit someone. I started shooting some others, and it worked. Then I pretended to have a machine gun, which worked much better with its speed. I ran around and shot stuff with my air machine gun.

In the last dream and DEILD, I was at the orange platforms again. Somehow I knew there were horses somewhere. I searched through the bright hallways, but the dream ended before I reached them.

    10. Last Night...

      by , 08-04-2010 at 05:11 PM
I dreamed that it was the end of the world, zombies were everywhere and only me, my boyfriend and a few ex-military types were left. We rescued a few survivors, two of them women and we took over an 18-wheeler. It was strong and souped up, we kept watch for zombies in the trailer while someone drove. Don't know who it was that was driving. Well we killed alot of zombies, and at one point I seem to remember we were sailing off a cliff after something went terribly wrong. I remember looking down to see where we would land and there was a highway bridge looming below. We landed on it without a scratch and kept driving. Eventually though, the ammunition for our guns reached zero and we parked in a back alley to discuss strategies and how to do this with only knives, a flame thrower and a grenade. One of the women jumped out of the trailer and I walked to her. She said she didn't want to live anymore if this was all it was, running from death without a chance to enjoy life. She asked me to pour gasoline on her and light her on fire. I refused, telling her that even if she really wants to die there are less painful means like a knife. She said she was certain she wanted to die and that if I wouldn't do it she would get someone else to. I stormed into the trailer and searched for a knife which of course suddenly was no where to be found. I jump out of the trailer and start screaming and kicking anyone who tries to do what she asks. But finally the other lady grabs the gasoline canister and dumps it on her while I'm distracted. I run to tackle the woman before she lights her on fire but she speeds up like fast forward on the DVD player and sets the woman alight. I remember crumpling to the ground and as we leave I say to my boyfriend that I'd rather die trying to get somewhere than give up in the middle of nowhere. I wake up. Surprisingly the dream was quite complete.

    12. Highest highs and lowest lows.

by , 08-04-2010 at 04:28 PM (The Mind is Power; My Dream Journal)
Two days ago I had my best night of dreaming in my life, 5 dreams (all in depth) recalled in one night.

Last night I couldn't recall much of anything. The only thing I remember was visiting my friends bands myspace and listening to some new song they put on there.

      Wish me luck.

    13. Nightmare

by , 08-04-2010 at 04:17 PM (My Official Journey Into Lucid Dreaming)
This is a sort of recurring dream that I have. The subjects are different, but the theme is always betrayal. I attribute this to the fact that my ex-wife was cheating on me for at least a year before I finally had enough and left her.

I am in a hotel or dorm or some mass housing complex in an apartment that is supposed to be mine but I don't live in an apartment. It has several rooms and all them are painted white. I am living with my girlfriend (one from over 20 years ago) and she is hanging out with my best friend a little too much. As the dream progresses, I find them getting closer. I try to put a stop to it, but I cannot. They continue through the dream to get closer. Everytime I am looking for her (which seems to be all the dream is about), I find her with my friend. Finally, I start to get enraged. I through things around, fight with him, and her. I punch him, but he doesn't seem to care. I push her hard onto a bed, and immediately feel guilty. You're not supposed to strike a woman. I start to cry. I can't fix this. I feel lost and lonely. Dream fades.

I am on the ground picking up quarters that someone has dropped. There are hundreds of them. People are walking past me looking at me. I feel like I'm doing something bad, but I continue. I find a Silver Dollar, and pick that up. Dream fades..

    14. giants causeway and town-shopping centre.

      by , 08-04-2010 at 04:02 PM (Sean's Dream Journal)
I've always had a fondness for the giants causeway and this dream i had was just weird.

so im at the giants causeway with alot of people, me and someone started wrestling on a cliff we were all sitting on, i rolled over the person while holding on to them and then suddenly we strted falling down the hill without actually touching it, it was scary. i hit the ground and felt no pain although everything faded and blacked out.

next thing, im ina town with a shopping centre and in the dream my freind meets up with a girl he likes, but either 6 weeks or 6 months pass in the dream and the girl wants to go back to her own country so she leaves, i see her leave out the front of the shopping center and when she gets out of the door, i suddenly am in her place, i look behind me while running down a hill beside the shopping centre and see my friend and alot of his friends chase me. (at this point i assume i must be in the body of the girl and i keep running) i then get to the bottom of the hill and run over the street, i see a pipe in front of me and think, 'hats my destination, i have to get to that without being caught'. i eventually get to it and turn around and start laughing and the people who wee cahsing me start laughing with me as if it was only a game of chase. the dream ends.

      Dream (Non-Lucid)
      Lucid Dream

Last night was fairly restless. I attempted to do a WILD around 3:30, but failed and couldn't get back to sleep. Quote from my WILD-1 workbook:

      Results: Success, sort of.

Meaning, I managed to have a lucid dream (YAY!) but it wasn't a WILD, and was lot later in the morning than I had intended. Plus, it was really really short, which was kind of a pain. So, here's how the night went: my alarm went of at 3:30, just like I set it to. I was already very close to if not awake, which makes me think I was pretty close to the end of my REM cycle. I got up, used the restroom, got a sip of water, and went back to bed. After that, I did my relaxation techniques, and settled down, ready to have a WILD. Here's where I hit the wall, like always: I couldn't get to sleep. For whatever reason, my body decided that I had woken it up, so it must be morning. I tried to stay mostly still for about an hour, and did a pretty good job, but there was no luck with entering the transition phase. At about 4:30, I decided to just try and get some sleep, however, I couldn't even do that! Part of the problem, I think, was that I was hungry, so that very well may have kept me from being able to sleep, among other things. I finally just got up, walked around for about half of an hour, got a snack, and went back to bed a little before 6:00. After laying another twenty minutes or so, I fell asleep and had one or two very vivid but non-Lucid dreams, which I'll put in my DJ after I'm done with this. I woke up, rolled over, and went to sleep again.

There was no transition, no SP that I recall, and I'm not sure if I lost consciousness or not, which is what makes me doubt this was a WILD. Either way around it, the next thing I realized, I was in my bed again in the same position I had just been in. I did an RC (pinching my nose) and I could breathe! I did a couple of things to stabilize it after I woke up, but it still ended before I could do much of anything. Very exciting, though.
      Here's my actual dreams:

      1: Out for Dinner

This was the least interesting and least vivid of the dreams I had last night, but nonetheless, it was a dream. I am sitting in a restaurant, chatting with a bunch of my friends. For whatever reason, the restaurant reminds me of my third grade classroom, but it is decorated much differently. I feel somewhat excluded and not a part of the conversation, which makes me sad. Pretty much all the friends that I saw in real life a few days ago at a pool party were in a dream, particularly one of my better friends who is moving out of state very soon. I have a feeling that this dream was a lot longer than I'm making it out to be, but it was mostly talking, of which I don't really remember anything.

      2: Oceanfront Retreat

This dream was a lot more vivid and a lot more interesting than the last one. I'll try to recount as much of it as I can, though some of the order might overlap.
I'm in some sort of an oceanfront retreat. It's a cross between a couple of places I have been on vacation this summer. First thing I can remember, I'm in some sort of large wooden building. I get the feeling that there isn't really air conditioning or much else like that, and it's very open to the outside. I decide to go walk to the beach. First thing I notice, the waves are ridiculously high- I swear, they have to be a good 20 or 30 feet. They are all a perfect blue with a white crest, really beautiful and scary at the same time. I remember the ocean is, though more rough than probably possible, extremely clear and detailed. It's kind of interesting, because one of the techniques I was using to relax was imagining floating on the ocean.

Anyways, even though the waves were so huge, I know me and all the other people watching are safe, because all of the buildings and the people are on a sort of bluff (small cliff), out of the ocean's reach. I find myself sitting on some wooden stairs leading down to sea level, next to an old friend and someone else that I didn't know. The old friend, C, is crying, and I ask her what's wrong. She says that she doesn't know me and doesn't want to talk about it, so I just try and comfort her instead. I find it a little weird that she doesn't recognize me, until I remember that I'm somewhat in disguise. Just then, I realize that C's friend is really attractive, so I start to talk to her. One thing leads to another... etc. I feel a little bad, though, that I'm ignoring C when she's as sad as she is, but I quickly forget about it.

Next 'scene' in the same setting, a group of people are going out into the rough waves. I overhear them saying that they have to go save the fish. They're wearing bright orange life jackets, some sort of breathing apparatus, and a lot of other safety equipment. When they go into the water, however, the waves suddenly die off, leaving a much calmer, clear ocean. I go out to see what they're doing and maybe help, and I see a couple of them trying to fix a buoy. Somehow, I also find myself just wandering around the streets and alleys of the resort, seeing a couple of people I know, but mostly strangers.

      3: Home (First Lucid)

I fall asleep laying on my stomach, which is really weird for me, because I almost always sleep on my back. It felt comfortable at the time, though. I am in my bed, in the same position I fell asleep in. I know that I've been trying to WILD most of the night, so I try to do a reality check by pinching my nose and breathing. I can breathe, and so realize I'm dreaming! I then try to get out of bed, which is a real struggle. I feel as if I'm peeling myself out of my body. Once I finally manage to stand up, I feel no more resistance. I don't look back, though I wish I did to see if my physical body was still there. I go out into the hallway outside my room. I'm a little afraid I'm going to lose lucidity, so I spin around a couple of times to try and stabilize my dream. Everything in my house is a lot darker than it should be, saying this was around 6:30 in the morning. I walk downstairs to my front door, trying to imagine that it is bright outside. I open my door, but no luck: it's still dark. I try to force things to brighten up, which is when I wake up.

So, pretty interesting night. I hope that's the first lucid of many to come!
