task of the month

I was starting to get worried. Been having a lucid dry spell lately, and the end of the month is just around the corner, but a lucky DILD saw me through it!

I was in our back yard with my son around dusk, and for some reason I brought out a large fish bowl with an odd creature inside. It looked like a white cat that had wing/flap thinks similar to a sting ray. It was dead, but perfectly preserved in the liquid inside the bowl. My son asked "What if it's still alive mommy?" I said "It can't be sweetie, it's been in this bowl, dead for years." Then the creature's eyes opened, and it rotated around in the bowl slowly to look at us. The eyes blinked a few times, and I could tell that it was breathing inside the liquid. I was thinking about how to save the thing's life, and then HOW the fuck is this thing even alive? And I said "Oh, it's not, I'm dreaming wooHOOOOOO"

I immediately got up and started pacing, way to excitedly. I remembered the last DEILD chain I had where I kept waking up because I didn't calm down. So I looked at my hands for about a minute, turning them around, and calming down. I always have the most perfect manicure in my LDs, I don't know why. Love it. I remembered that I wanted to do the lucid task of the month before the month was over, so I looked on the ground for a shadow. Fortunately, even though it was late, the backyard flood lights in my dream were working, you know, the kind that makes you have like 5 different shadows. So I squatted down on the ground and grabbed the middle shadow by the foot, and ripped it off. The shadow began to slowly crawl up the side of the house, then it darted around the corner to the side of the house. I chased it all the way to the front yard and caught it. But then I started to get blind in my left eye again. I even tested it: I closed my left eye, I could see just fine. I closed my right eye, and I couldn't see at all, and I could feel the dream start to slip. So I clapped my hands and yelled "More lucidity, and more LIGHT please." It came back a little bit, but it was still kinda hazy. Then I woke up.

I should have looked at my hands again, or looked for a mirror. I'll remember next time, I'm getting good at remembering what I need to in my LDs. I'm super proud of myself, the last task of the month I accomplished was back in 2005 or so, when Seeker challenged us to chase a duck. And even then, I think I was only able to form one out of clay. Don't think I actually chased it.

Note to self: I fell asleep around 2am, woke up at 7am to feed the dogs, went back to sleep at about 7:45, and woke up from the LD at 11am.

Today I had 2 LD.
First. I went to the kindergaden for my son and understand that something wrong with my wear. I went some more and become lucid. Made RC, I was in the class and among me and my son there were a lot of kids. I took him and we jump in the portal - I want the portal took us in the Garry Potter book. We went too long and I awoke. Portal didn't work
Second. I lied under the blanket and understand that it may be a dream. Stood up. The room isn't my, so its a dream. Tried to make telikenesis - move the pencil on the table, but it didn;t move and the table became to transform and became longer. I gave up it. Looked in the window for a moment - there was snow and winter. I went back to telekinesis. On the sofa lied a big ashent book - I tried to open it from the about 2 meteres. Succeded!!! I opened and closed it again. Then I desided to do the TOTM - there was another big book with tales and pictures. I opened it, found wellknown tale, put the book on the floor and made the portal just in the book, jump in it and was in the room again... Didn't work. Then saw my husbent on the bed and had sex and awoke.

Trying to update this more. I like writing my dreams so people can see that you can get lucid often if you work for it and it is worth it! I got on amazing lucid adventures almost every night and really like typing them up. Anyway, I got up around 1:30 AM to WILD, became lucid in a coffee shop.

I was sitting in a small coffee shop holding a steamy cup of coffee. In the coffee, there was a bright blue twist straw poking out of the cup. The cafe had a very nice, warm feel to it. I noticed the employees running around looking busy, even though I was the only customer. There was about six small tables throughout the coffee shop. It had a bunch of art on the walls. I noticed all of the artwork had a 'water theme' to it.

I remembered to do the Task of the Month. I looked on the ground to see if my shadow was there. It wasn't. I closed my eyes for a few seconds and expected it to be there when I opened them. It was, but a little deformed. I summoned a Harry Potter wand and shot life from the wand into the shadow. I could see the shadow vibrating a bit and then it shot off! I jumped on it and literally rode it out of the shop! I glanced back and noticed a look of HORROR on one of the employees faces. ROFL! The shadow flew up into the air and I almost fell off of it. We were about to go through a cloud but I commanded it to turn solid. The shadow hit the cloud and started to fall. I quickly let go and flew before I fell with it. I followed the shadow down to the ground and it was just laying still. I think my shadow passed out! I touched it and attached it back into my body.

Now it was time to do the Advanced Task. Enter one of my favorite books...The Hunger Games. I grabbed the air and ripped it open creating a portal. I visualized on the other side I would be sitting in the Hunger Games arena in a forest area. I stopped through and that's where I was! All the trees around me had colorful fall leaves. I looked on the ground and found a bow and arrows. I knew other players would be chasing after me so I quickly hopped into a tree and started climbing. When I got to the top, I could see a little dome around the entire arena. The trees were close together I started to silently hop from one tree to another. I heard someone below me and I scaled down the tree silently. I sat on a branch and saw a blonde-haired girl walking through the forest. She looked like she was gathering food. I could feel the presence of a camera on me. I pulled back the arrow and aimed. I charged magic into it that would make her instantly evaporate once shot.

I shot. It hit her right after she spotted me. Right between the eyebrows. She evaporated and blue dust flew into the air. Then I heard someone right above me. I quickly looked up and everything became black.

I wish the dream lasted longer! I was planning to blow up a person's base by shooting an arrow to blow up someone's supplies like Katniss did in the books! That would have been fun. Anyway, it was still a cool dream. Hope you enjoyed reading

I fall from the stairs and understand that this is a dream. Made RC, flew from the window. I want to drink cola, took some ground and tried to make a bottle of cola - falce,it looked like ground. I took a part of the wall, but saw tables with the banket. I took from the table the bottle with peach juce, tried - this was peach juce. I saw a bottle of cola near some lady, took it, drank a bit - it was like cola, but mixed with water. Said hi to DC, and she answered - hi! I went to look for a book to make task of the month - found the book with Garry Potter, open the chapter and tried just to jump in it - but when i touch the book - may be because of the blow woke up.

I made RC and remembered about task with the shadow. I had a long shadow about 2 meters. I allowed it to detach from me. Made a step. I was without shadow and my shadow was on the floor. It made slowly movements , sometimes don't move, but it doesn't made any attempt to run from me. How can i chase it, if it doesn't run? I went around it then i looked at my feet and saw that I 've got another shadow.

Feels good to be back, expect some crazy dreams very soon. Will update with every new dream

LD18 since 02-17-12: I read the task for March last night and it was to enter into a chapter of a favorite book and interact, or something like that. I could not decide before bed what book would work. I thought of a couple but was not sure what I would like to live out. I decided to see if an idea came to me based on whatever was going on the next time I became lucid.
This is a DILD as I had no time to try a WILD and just got lucky. I found myself on a peir with woman and was already lucid. I may have had other lucid parts leading to this, but can not recall what they were. I again had to heavily sedate myself, to get enough sleep, because of my intense work schedule. I find it limits my recall and control drastically. I remembered that I was supposed to enter a chapter in a book, and this looked a lot like the first chapter in "Odd Hours" an Odd Thomas book by Dean Koontz. I love Odd Thomas books so I figure I could transform this into the first chapter of that book.
I pictured that I was Odd Thomas, he has special phsycic like abilities and can see the dead. I tried to remember the idea of the first chapter. He is on a peir , meets a girl with a secret, and bad guys show up who he leads away from the girl.
I made the image blur out and come back so that I was now in the story. I looked around and here come the bad guys. I told her to sneak off. I think parts of the chase scene got lost to poor recall. I also had only the vauge lucidity where you know your dreaming, but can not always effect things and don't think very clearly.
I lead them around a carnaval on the board walk, and then find the girl in a carnaval tent. She tells me about a prop cannon, and I think that I will somehow influence the dream to use this cannon, but the dream just moves along against my wishes.
We find an aquaduct and climb down it into the dark waste deep in water. For awhile we seem safe and the water felt very real but had hot parts and cold parts. I suddenly get some kind of Odd Thomas preception and can see in my minds eye that two bad guys have found us and are about to climb up the aquaduct.
At this point I decide the female from "Odd Hours" is to weak, and she really should be Stormy Luellen from the pre-quel graphic novels. Stormy is tough and carries a gun. I picture that the next scene it will be Stormy there. We are in a large underground area with pipes spanning a drop off. Stormy is there and handling one bad guy, somehow.
Odd Thomas is not really a tough guy, but relise on a special kind of luck and timing. I decide to stay in character I should follow my instinct and hope for a random thing to save me. I cross the pipes and my bad guy slips and hits his head and falls down the dark drop off.
We come up at a collapsed place near a railroad track, and Officer Porter is there and gives us some kind of clues about bodies found somewhere and a warehouse.
The next scene we pass by a couple houses where a dog has killed a cat. The owners are arguing about if the dog went in the cat's yard. Odd Thomas sees dead people, so I look around and see a mangled cat spirit. I pick it up and ask it to show me if it was in its own yard when the dog got it. It showed me the bent tines on the fence where the dog got over.
Then we are at some warehouse and a final fight scene happens with some bad guy in a crazy leather out fit and mask. I use a burning propane tourch to force the bad guy to surrender. It turns out to be a woman. Me and Stormy use zip ties to bind her hands and the dream ends.

In the past month and a half, I've had 2 lucids. I don't quite recall them much, but I've been far too lazy. So, this March, I'll be back to my relugar thing, MILDing, and DEILDing. So I just wanted to confirm that with my readers. I do remember do the January task and the Twin Tower task in one of the lucids though.

all the LD i was in my flat and tried to enter the pictures on the wall - not succeful. I jumped in the picture and found myself in the room again. Only once i jumped into the piture with the new year tree and felt something like girland in my hand.

All this began from the massage of my head - somebody does me massage and I saw a very bright picture, and then he finished - the picture disapear and I was in the bed(in dream).
I was walking in the streat DILD and went to the first DCs - it was tall man and his mother - I thought. I gave the man a valentine card - the card was already in my hand. Said - good luck in valentine day! He answered - thanks - took it and they went away.
I went to find some picture - even tried to break a n office window to find some picture there, but could not. In some window i saw a picture with 2 bright parrots - i flew to it and tried to enter the picture - i went through the picture - and saw street and the picture of the parrots on the window.
I went ot the street again and found advertising (i think advertising of tea) with big picture of green mountings, lake and a woman. I flew about a meter to be the same level with the picture an went in it. I was among the green mount and some man was near me. I have very less control and couldnt take something from the picture - I began to rub hands and face - but it didn't help and I fall in the some room, but on the wall was other picture. I went to the door to go to the street and tried with adverticing once more and awoke.

October 2011
- Visit a house and ask for Trick or Treat - Report what you were given

I had an unreasonable amount of problems with the basic task.
Whenever I knocked at a place, people either wouldn't open the door, claim that it is late and they want to sleep, or state that we do not celebrate Halloween around here.

During one dream I considered doing the advanced task, but realized that I didn't know enough about Hades, which is the god I chose to become.

• I'm walking through my street hoping to finally complete the basic totm.
  I cannot believe how hard I'm failing at it, it seems so simple.
  I decide to summon Faye to help me out and she promptly appears.
  
  We go to the first house to ask for Trick or Treat and I transform myself into a half gargoyle / half human.
  As the door opens I roar and Faye asks for Trick or Treat.
  
  
  "... you are stupid, we don't do that around here."
  
  He closes the door.
  I'm pissed, why is this not working...
  Faye is on her way to the next house but I call her back.
  I knock on the door rather vigorously.
  
  
  "What do you want? Go away!"
  "Listen up friend... you are going to move your ass to the kitchen and get us some fucking candy."
  
  He looks at me rather offended.
  I show him my half transformed hand and grow long claws out of it.
  He gets scared and runs into the house.
  A few seconds later he comes back with a big bag full of candy and hands it over with his hands shivering.
  
  
  "See, was that so hard?"
  
  He closes the door.
  
  
  "You know... that totally doesn't count."
  "Why not?"
  "This was quite a bit closer to robbery than it was to Trick or Treating."
  
  I shrug it off and decide that I have completed the task.

November 2011
- Go into your school (old or current) and make all your teachers mad
- Visit a place in your favorite book, video game, movie, TV show, etc.

I didn't attempt the basic task but managed to do the advanced on the first try.
I cannot recall where I went for it though, I had rather bad recall on that dream and didn't write it down.


December 2011
- Fly up in the sky and find out where all the snow comes from
- Find Santa and deliver presents with him.

• After become lucid at home, I decide to quickly fly into the sky and complete the basic task.
  I have no plans to complete the advanced one, I just want to do the basic one quickly and then teleport to Teraluna.
  Whilst flying upwards I realize that it isn't actually snowing, which is sort of an issue if I want to see where the snow is coming from.
  But then for some reason I notice that is is actually snowing... heh.
  I don't have to fly very far until the snow turns into rain.
  
  I'm not really sure what I was expecting. A magic machine of sorts perhaps?
  The rain just gradually turns into snow due to the low temperatures.
  I shrink myself down to the size of a rain drop and follow it down.
  It gradually crystallizes, it's quite beautiful.
  
  I'm satisfied and turn back to my normal size in order to teleport...

January 2012
- Set off fireworks in a crowded place and record what happened/how the DCs reacted.
- Go back in time and see yourself at the moment you became lucid.

I only did the basic task during a rather long and interesting lucid which I'll probably post at a later time.
I didn't attempt the advanced one.

I'm awake several hours before usual because my little girl had nightmares as well last night and just couldn't get back to sleep. As a result, I only have two dreams to share right now, and the first one is merely a fragment.

All I can remember of the first dream is an outdoor maze. It's made from stone just taller than my head, and it's outside in some sort of garden. There's broken stone and grass creeping up all around it. Also, the colors in the dream were really bright and cartoony. Thinking back, it's very similar to the garden walls when you go through in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time to meet Princess Zelda in terms of colors. There's also a girls face that was in my mind when I woke. She's not someone I recall ever seeing before. She had chin length blond hair, and was smiling with her face tilted to the side like anime/video game characters ofte do, and that's all I can remember.

The Second Dream: My second dream is more of the type I usually have, where everything seems super realistic, but I'm not aware I'm dreaming and there are all kinds of fantastical things happening. It starts out I'm in a local historical town with my best friend Ambies who in reality lives several states away. The town is small, only about 5 blocks, and the buildings are all about 2-4 stories high made of brick back in the early 1900's late 1800's. There's an courthouse in the center of town that now serves as a museum of the towns history. The lighting and colors in this dream are very creepy, like the Legend of Sleepy Hollow movie with Johnny Depp in it. Ambies is walking, but I am on this big zero turn lawn mower that makes a ridiculous amount of noise and vibrates like crazy. We turn left around the corner of the court house, and I see a man in a suit with a grey bird perched on his finger posing for a picture. The photographer is my step dad, and he's using an old looking tin box type camera. The bird flies up off the mans finger, and hoovers at the mans hat until the man lifts his finger higher and the bird perches again. I can hear the man and my step dad talking about the picture, just typical "Almost finished" and "this bird and I go way back" type comments. I stop the lawn mower to avoid scaring the bird, and tell Ambies, "That's Brad, lets go talk to him when he's done talking to that man." When they are done talking, the man tips his hat before turning around and walking off. My step dad bends down and picks up a bag off the ground before turning around and walking off himself, in the opposite direction. I start up the lawn mower and starts to follow him. I call out to him, he turns and looks at me, then keeps walking as though he doesn't know me. I stop the lawn mower and tell my best friend that it's weird he didn't recognize me. She says that it's been almost a year since I've seen him, he probably didn't recognize me because of my hair cut. I nod and tell her she's probably right, and we follow him around another left corner. I catch up to him, and yell his name again. He turns around and looks at me again, and says, "Oh hey! I didn't recognize you with your hair so short!" Then he turns into my biological dad. He says he is taking pictures to test out this neat old antique camera he found and asks me if I'd like to have my picture taken. I say sure, as long as I don't have to hold still for long because holding still is pretty much impossible for me. He laughs and says, "Yeah, you've never been able to hold still, ever since you were a kid, all you do is run run run and get into trouble like a little monkey!" we all three laugh, then he says he will take my picture in a moment, but he needs to use the bathroom first. He asks if we need to as well, and we say yeah. He leads up to the right this time across the street and where the bank is is normal life, there's a big bath room building. All I see is a ladies room, I don't see a men's room, and my dad walks into the ladies room. I kind of freak out internally thinking he's not supposed to be in here! Then I wonder if it'll make Ambies uncomfortable that if she has to pee my dad will be in a stall nearby. Then I realize Ambies isn't there anymore. I hear a flush, and my dad disappears into the first stall just as a lady walks out of one of the stalls towards the back. The lady is one of my aunts. She says, "Hey! I didn't think I'd meet you here! What are you up to?" My dad hisses from his stall, "Don't tell her I'm here!" and apparently I'm the only one who hears, so I try to lamely make something up and tell her I am just walking around looking at the scenery. She nods, and then changes the subject to the baby clothes I recently gave her daughter (my cousin) for her little girl since my own daughter has outgrown them. She tells me how lovely they were, and that they had so much fun going through the bag and looking at them and how cute her grand daughter is going to look wearing them. Then she tells me she has to get going and tells me to have fun, I thank her, say I will, and bye! Then As she leaves, there's a flush and my dad steps out of the stall. We start hearing a lot of noise outside. It's really loud, like a roaring sound, so we rush out to see what's going on. We don't see my aunt, but what we do see is crazy strong wind, big black clouds in the sky, pouring rain and the streets are flooded up to my knees. Also, the buildings have changed, they've stretched three times their height and become real "big city" type buildings. The courthouse is the tallest building of all, and strongly resembles a real building in a city about a hour from where I am. There's nothing behind this row of buildings though, no other buildings or trees or anything, just black clouds and grey sky as far as I can see. Then a boat is coming in from the Distance. A fairly large tug boat looking boat. The bottom of the boat is black and rubbery looking, and it is blown into the building that was once the courthouse. All at once the wind blows even stronger and literally lifts the boat up, scraping it along the back side of the building until it reaches the top. It teeters at the top, upside down for a moment, then there's a loud moaning sound as it starts flipping again and falls towards us in front of the building. I duck ad dive forwards, and the boat crashes behind me before somehow being carried away by this water that's only knee deep. I sigh in relief and tell my dad that was crazy! he nods, but then says, "Watch out!" and points to the building. This time there's another boat, but it's HUGE, like cruise liner sized, and it's blown against all of the buildings. The wind keeps blowing it, and the water surges beneath it, slowly pushing it up the back sides of the buildings, until it too reaches the top. I think for sure we are screwed, there's no way we can dodge a boat that big and as heavy as it must be it'll probably land closer to the buildings than the tug boat that just barely missed us. There are several creaking sounds, and the tops of the buildings begin to collapse, then the wind blows extra hard and miraculously blows the boat over us so close that if I hadn't been ducking in fear I could have reached up and touched it. The water splashes behind us, and I see myself in third person for a moment and notice my hair is shoulder length again (in real life it's not even past my ears) then I'm back inside myself and standing up. I'm shaking, but before I can be relieved again, I look up at the buildings, and they are blowing to pieces. Beams and windows and panels of some kind are raining down around us, I'm leaning left and right and forwards and backwards, avoiding the debris like Neo from the matrix, only no where near as calm and confident. As the last of the buildings collapse, my phone starts ringing. I think it odd that my phone is ringing, with all the crazy things going on, a ringing phone seems too normal and every day. I answer the phone, and it's my grandmother. She asks if I'm alright, and I say yeah, we're in the storm, but somehow we aren't hurt yet. She tells me that the whole town I'm in is being evacuated and that I should come to her house about 20 minutes away by car to seek shelter. I thank her, but tell her I'm going to find shelter closer to where I am because I don't have a car and I don't want to be out in the open during this insane storm. She tells me that she understands, and to just be careful. I tell her I will and hang up the phone. I turn to my dad to tell him we need to find shelter, and that's when I was woken up by my daughter screaming in her bed because she had a nightmare with a "Vewry vewry scarddy monster"

I saw mice in the wall, touch one of them,DILD, mice began to bite me and it was painfull,I jumped in the portal thinking to eskape from the mice. I landed somewere and began to look for a valentine to make the task of the month, and awoke.

[B][U]Task Of The Month[/U][/B]
Why are the walls purple? Oh yeah, dream. Before going to bed, I had just freshened up on the ToTM and the ToTY. I decided to work on the ToTM first, since it was smaller in scale to the ToTY.

I flew around until I found an art gallery. Plenty of paintings in there. I saw that one painting, "The Scream", and figured it'd be interesting enough. It took a few minutes for me to devise a way in. Eventually I just put my hand on it and told it to let me in. I was drawn into it then, almost absorbed by it. I found myself inside now, and it looked very... artsy, I guess? I don't know, look at "The Scream" and that's what it looked like. It was then that I heard a sound that was like someone was scratching the chalkboard in the innermost region of my mind. Looking over, it was the screamer. I turned off my hearing to keep him from killing me with such an awful sound. I remembered that I was one a time clock, so I looked around for something to bring out of the painting. Someone was carrying a plant for some reason, and I thought: Why not? It'd look cool on my fireplace mantle. I took the plant, and left the painting. I told it I wanted out, and it graciously acquiesced. I took the plant back to my place, and put it on the mantle next to the Brownie Camera. Time for ToTY.

[B][U]Task Of The Year Attempt #6[/U][/B]
It took a minute to think about, but I remembered I had to go to the launch site of Sputnik 1. I found it just as it was about to take off, how fortuitous. I latched on as it took off, and rode it like a horse into space.

It was moving pretty fast, and I felt like I was going to be thrown off at any second. I kept my grip as firm as I could though, and managed to make it into space. There wasn't much to see, and it was kinda boring. I wondered if there was some time limit as to how much I had to stick with this giant hunk of space metal before I could leave. I waited for about ten minutes, but we just kept moving... in some indeterminate direction. It's space, man, it's hard to tell what's up or down. I decided that I'd been here long enough, and grabbed one of Sputnik's smaller antennae and went back to the cabin. I decided it would just be better to teleport this time, so I would conserve time. I put the antennae on my mantle next to the Plant from Screamland. Then I woke up to check the ToTY and to try in the next dream.

So there I am in my dream classroom, there are some students waiting for some teachers to come with some fireworks. two teachers come into the classroom with some crystal boxes and inside about 8 cylinders to fill them with some colorful firework powder.
I start to fill the cylinders as the students are patiently waiting. I start thinking that there would be a lot of smoke and the roof may burn, but then I realize that this is just a dream and nothing would harm me or the people around me. I continue putting as many colors as I want, the other teachers are ready to start the fireworks...When I finished all cylinders I look at the teachers and they can't start the fireworks, then I say I could start them with my superpowers, so I tell them to move back; and there they are 3 crystal boxes full of fireworks i concentrate on the boxes and then with a snap of my fingers they all light up at the same time, many colors start to shoot out into the ceiling, and as they touch the ceiling butterflies start to come out from the top of the colorful fire fountains everyone is amazed, until...a big explotion on one of the cylinders, one of my special education students ran away so I have to go after him and the dream starts to fade out.
