    1. Balloon Travel, Dodo Birds, and Meteors in the Distant Past

      by , 10-25-2015 at 04:25 PM
Morning of October 20, 2015. Tuesday.

I and my wife Zsuzsanna, and our children, must be living in the 1600s. I assume this because we are living in an unknown region where there are eventually a lot of dodo birds walking about. The building we live in seems vaguely like the Duffy Street apartment, though. My father (deceased February 14, 1979) is alive again and appearing as he was perhaps in the early 1960s. At one point, I have a wall-to-wall array of comic book stacks (they all look new), though each stack being only about six or seven issues high at the most. I eventually realize that this would make it difficult for my father to walk through the room (from a room on the other side of where I am), so I gather them all up into one higher pile, being only vaguely concerned about the numerical (issue number) order at this point.

The main concept is impersonal and relates to some sort of mountain-like structure, an isolated ridge which is much longer than its width, so much so, it seems there is a potential of it falling over at one point, and much of it contains small caves and a network of tunnels. It is apparently full of various kinds of fossils as well as living dinosaurs. There is a scene where a small duck-billed dinosaur (Hadrosaurid) comes out of a cave and bites lightly at my hand (though I do not feel threatened). There is another scene when I am watching the dodo birds where I also see a supposedly extinct animal that looks somewhat like a cross between a wombat and a guinea pig.

I inform a group of scientists (dressed as if in the early 1800s rather than 1600s) I seem to be informally working with that the mountain will likely fall over if they try to elevate it. Regardless, they somehow attempt to elevate the very large feature to possibly see the contents of underground caves. The whole feature somehow tips over once in midair and becomes upside-down before aligning back to ground level. At least one brontosaurus inside one of the many caves is seen falling over during this event. I also hear numerous pieces of bones and fossils falling about.

Later, I am standing with my wife Zsuzsanna in a large oblong hot air balloon, which is what they had earlier used in part to elevate the mountain. The oblong basket is large enough for a whole crowd of about twenty people, at least. We are at one end and the rest of the people, including scientists, are at the sides. It seems to be a beautiful night, and we are looking out over London as it was a few centuries ago.

Over time, looking at the beautiful nighttime sky, a few light clouds here and there, we notice unusual bright white lights streaming slowly downward in a few different locations. These turn out to be small meteors (which are unrealistic, as real meteors would move much faster). They sometimes even arc in a different direction before hitting the ground. With great visual clarity, I watch some of them hit various parts of the streets, leaving a large hole and cracking the ground a fair distance. There are also a few fiery explosions, which are very enjoyable to see. In the far distance, a much larger meteor seems to destroy an entire area when it hits. Eventually, there is a vague concern that a meteor may come to near where we are, but that does not seem very likely. It does not seem to be the “end of the world”, just the end of London in the distant past. Throughout much of this dream, I felt very cheerful and happy.

    2. Another apocalypse dream.

      by , 09-06-2015 at 03:18 PM
Once a month, I have a dream about the apocalypse.

I've been working on my dream recall lately, because I'm trying to recovery from a long battle with mental illnesses. I stopped quite some time ago but I'm making excellent progress. It's nice to be interested in something again.

      Here is the dream.

My family is living in an apartment building, instead of our house. I look out the window and see a lake. The sky is very dark, and I feel extremely creeped out. I can hear my parents talking to my sister behind me. I see some clouds swirling around, and suddenly, I see a meteor fall from the sky, into the lake. I immediately think, "The apocalypse is happening".

My dad warns me to back away from the window, but I can't look away. I see a meteor coming towards our building, and I scream. It hits somewhere below us and I feel the building sway. It made me feel sick.

My dad and some man who I've never seen before start grabbing supplies. I see them loading canned foods and cases of water into a car. Yes, a car was in the middle of our apartment building hahaha.

Suddenly, we're in the basement of the house we live in in my waking life. I don't remember how we got there. I don't see my mom anywhere, but I see my dad and sister talking. I realize that I forgot my phone charge in my room, because apparently that's very important to have during the apocalypse. I feel my anxiety building up as I prepare to dash up to my room to grab my phone charge. Oh, priorities...

I dash up the stairs, and I can feel sweat running down my face. I hear some awful buzzing sound, which was apparently the sound of meteors crashing into the earth. I kept thinking "This is it, Jayme. You could die any second."

I didn't die, though. I managed to get my phone charger and threw myself back down the stairs. But when I looked around, my family was gone.
    3. Perseids Dream 8/12/13

      by , 08-18-2013 at 12:34 AM
The dream started with me and my friends going to see a scary movie. All of them got their tickets and I somehow lost track of them, so they disappeared. So I went to get my ticket and they were sold out. A strange fellow came to me and said hey come see this concert, its got girls that spit on you it's crazy.

The second I got to the theater hosting the concert it was no longer me, it was me watching a boy and a girl who were there. I don't think it was a date. They seemed like friends. The girl looked like a young Rooney Mara. They both had light blue face paint that resembled eye shadow. I can remember looking up at the ceiling and it wasn't there, it was replaced by the sky and I could see the meteors that I had watched earlier IRL, except there was much more than I had seen. The boy lost track of the girl and lost her much like I had my friends earlier. The lead singer knelt down and comforted the boy saying he understood.
    4. [Evil Acid Storm/Innocence]

by , 08-31-2012 at 07:03 PM (Searching For The Center of Everything)
      [Sunday, August 19th, 2012]
The farthest back memory I had was me looking up at the sky and seeing "acid-green colored skies" and the lightning being really bad. (We were in the backyard of my Grandma Barbara's house, but it was different... an open grassy plain stretched out as far as I could see.) I was there with two other RM people (most likely Alex and Nathan) while they talked and I hid under the awning and looked up to see meteors/chaotic storms, followed by feelings of danger. I ended up inside someone's vehicle and I sat there a second. Suddenly, the sky went black. I could see a crowd of dimly illuminated figures to the left (an aura of evil and dread surrounding them) and a panicked group of approaching figures from the right. I locked the doors. The panicked group reached first and began to pound on the door. I opened it for them. My memory cuts to me inside with an enormous stack of pizza. I had no appetite, but I grabbed one box and walked outside. People were everywhere and relaxed. I walked to the vehicle and Nathan was there, where I handed him the box and he was surprised that I hadn't had a piece yet. Everyone else had plenty already.

And then there were monsters everywhere. People were dying and screaming. My dream ends abruptly to TV noise. Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood was on.

(I remember more, but nothing specific: FMA was sending dreamscapes and scenerios to me in my sleep. I remember thinking: Wow. This is really fucked up. No wonder my dream is so fucked right now. I bet I could pull more out of it if I watched that episode again. Edward was yelling at Envy in the episode...)

      +

(Later that morning, I had fallen asleep again.) I was on my way to school in Nathan's Dad's truck... Casey was there sitting next to me instead though.
Then I was outside in the lunch area at school, where Alex and a group of other people were sitting together facing me. Zack flipped me off, but thought I didn't notice. I got Alex to get his attention for me, where I grinned and flipped him off right to his face.

Memory skips to me in a science class with an unfamiliar teacher that reminded me of a cross between Ms. Meyers and a random substitute teacher. Zack was there sitting quietly in the back of the room and no one else that I really "recognized"... so either they were all RM's or random DC's. I was in my chair, none of my homework from the previous week done. Nor was my 5 day science experiment done. I considered begging teachers for makeup work or for them to at least tell me what I was missing. Ms. Meyers(?) recognized me for my attendence- in front of the class. Also, I remember a girl who looked really lonely. I tought her to kiss (My dream self is pretty daring.) and I remember saying things like, "Slow down... slow down..." and "You can dry your lips a little too..." She bore resemblence to Kendra, but had features of Alex too. This girl was nothing more than the spirit of innocence.
    5. My Most Realistic Lucid Ever

      by , 08-13-2011 at 12:53 AM
So I finally decided to start an online dream journal. I will most likely only post lucids and memorable dreams. I know there are several grammatical and wording errors. I tend to type/write a certain way even though it might be wrong.

      Warning: Kind of long

      Lucid Dream
      Lucidity/Clarity: Very realistic
      Notes: WBTB

I woke up still feeling sleepy this morning. Instead of going back to sleep, I went to talk with my sister for awhile. We talked about dreams for about 15 minutes. I went back to bed.

I fell asleep after about an hour. I realized that a dream was starting so I made to sure pay enough attention so I knew I was dreaming but not enough to wake myself. After a few moments, I realize that I am sitting in a classroom. I can hear students talking and the teacher calling roll. I was afraid to move because I was able to feel my body still in bed but I was also able to feel my dream body. I waited awhile longer for the dream to stabilize. I moved my dream arm to see if it was safe to continue.

Suddenly the dream hit me at full force. Everything felt incredibly real. It almost felt realer than real life if that makes any sense. I looked around the classroom, felt my desk, and listened to my surroundings. This really helped stabilize the dream. I had no fear of waking now.

The teacher was still calling roll. The dream characters was also very realistic. They all had their own individual conversations. I had no interest in listening. I decided that I would leave the classroom. I almost reconsidered and had to remind myself that I was dreaming and I didn't have to stay. I made my way to the door. "Where are you going?," the teacher asked. I told him that I was leaving. I was laughing to myself because I would never do such a thing in real life. He want to know my name to put on the roll but I ignored him.

The hallway was full of teenagers. Some were talking with friends or going through there lockers. I didn't know what I wanted to do in this dream. I decided to summon a creature. I imagined an alligator like thing. It was able to stand upright and talk for some reason. The creature grabbed me and tried to eat me. In fear of losing control, I let him do it. I was about halfway into his mouth when I decided to do reality checks. I observed my surroundings again. The air was hot, moist and smelled like stomach acid. The smell was so strong I had to keep myself from gagging. I remembered that throwing up wasn't necessary so I stopped feeling nauseous. The walls the creature's throat was very smooth, warm and a little slimy. Despite being halfway into the throat, I was able to see its stomach. The stomach acid smelled really bad and had a neon green color. I knew being closer to liquid would probably increase the smell so I decided to crawl out of the creature's mouth. I felt a little strange because of the dream characters staring. Usually dream characters disappear when I don't think about them but these characters never left. I felt a little better when I saw the creature gagging in the corner.

I exited the school. I didn't remember walking out of it. I was worried that I would wake up soon so I did reality checks again.(Note: I find the nose RC to be very useful and reliable. You don't have to use your hands to do it and you can do it at any time.) I also took this time to observe my surroundings and re-anchor myself to increase stability. Again, I was astounded by how realistic everything was. I was able to feel the slight breeze and coldness of the air. It was late afternoon and the sky had a dark purple to blue gradient. There was a neighborhood outside the school. Most of the houses had two stories and had similar styles which reminded me of a neighborhood in a dream I had several years ago. There were many trees. Each house probably had a tree or two in the yard. There were people walking around. They all wore costumes and walked house to house. I had a feeling that it was Halloween. I also felt that it wasn't Halloween but something very similar to it.

I walked into the middle of the street. "Let's show them my "costume"," I thought to myself. For some reason, I found the thought to be funny so I laughed a little. I did the usual thing I do when I transform. I threw myself toward the ground to stand on all fours while imagining my usual wolf form. I think it looks similar to the Mexican wolf or a wolf with brownish black fur with light brown splotches in some area.(I'm not really sure about this.) The nearby dream characters began to screamed and run away. I started laughing and felt empowered. I felt proud that they were afraid of me. I usually would attack and kill for fun but the sound of their screams and expressions made me feel a bit guilty. I saw one of the characters pointing toward the sky. I then realized that they weren't afraid of me but of the large meteor hurling toward the neighborhood.

Now somewhat afraid, I returned to my human form and ran to look for cover. I had somewhat forgotten that I was able to stop this but I doubted myself. While running, a boy, around seven or eight years old, started to run with me. He had brown/blonde hair and blue eyes. He was also looking for a place to hide. We ran into the backyard of a house. There was something like a storage area. It had a roof but no walls. We sat underneath it for a few minutes. I was still able to hear people screaming in the distance. I waited for the impact but it never happened. I was confused so I just decided that it wasn't that big and wouldn't effect my current area.

I went to explore some more. The boy followed me. I wondered if I should speak to him but I knew that this dream was long enough. I would most likely forgot most of it. While I was deciding if I should wake myself up so I can write in my private journal, I watched the sky. The sky was the same color as before but there were small orange streaks that would occasionally fly across the sky. I stopped walking when I reached another street. There was a house or two and an overpass. There was a city in the distance.

Suddenly, a larger meteor appeared. People began to panic again. I felt confident that I would be able to stop it. I wanted to save the city and the dream characters. I remembered Kamehameha move from Dragon Ball Z. As I got into position, I realized that the meteor was moving very fast and would hit the city if I took too long. Instead of yelling out the entire name, I yelled "-hameha" and thrusted my palms into the direction of the meteor. Nothing happened. I was a bit disappointed until I saw a small blue flash on the meteor. The meteor exploded into dust with a very loud crack. The people around me cheered and thanked me.

I suddenly got tunnel vision and lost feeling of my dream body. I knew I was probably waking up and remembered to stay still. Once everything turned black, I imagined a new scene so I can continue.

I managed to enter a new dream without losing any clarity. I didn't get to do anything eventful because I woke up about thirty seconds later.

Sorry about the really long post. This dream was the most realistic dream I have ever had. I felt that summarizing it would make it less fun to read. If anyone actually reads dream journals.
    6. Plotting Meteors

      by , 05-22-2011 at 02:14 AM (* The Sandman's Dream Journal o/***)
      I collect meteorites.

Meteors were headed towards Earth. "We" were all plotting them using meteorites to
illustrate on a grid where the meteors were headed. I had them up on pins of some
sort raised up from the grid.

I was a little unhappy with the size and shape of the meteors I had.

      That was the whole dream.

    7. Meteors again

      by , 01-05-2010 at 11:27 AM
Morning of January 5, 2010. Tuesday.

I am in an unknown location. It may be that my wife and family are living in La Crosse in my dream. The dream environment is outside at all times. The area is more open, not like a residential area; perhaps in or near a park, although there are buildings (both residential and commercial) here and there, sparsely arranged.

Most of the events occur at night and with a very eerie perspective. Large meteors are falling to Earth, though they are more like perfectly spherical fireballs the size of a beach ball. When they hit the ground, they sort of bounce and roll for quite a distance. Sometimes I am uncertain where they will be rolling and the idea of dodging them seems a bit problematic, although they never come that close.

It is not quite an “end of the world” scenario, but there is still a sense of potential disaster. There is a very vague association that the fireballs may have, or be connected to, some sort of primitive intelligence.

This may be a cellular dream relating to a possible in-body awareness of viral agents. Dreams similar to this in the past sometimes ended with a presence of snow or ice, which may represent white blood cells eliminating the viral threat or “fever”. It is also possibly related to the hotter weather during sleep.
