Fragment of Dreams
color legend: non-dream dream lucid Lucid Fragment #1 Struggling I suddenly become aware that I am dreaming. I RC with my nose pinch and am able to suck in a big breath. This feels amazing and I marvel at the feeling. I remember my goal of flying but become conscious of my real body. I spend the rest of the dream trying to lose the feeling of my body IWL but I wake up.

Research driving I'm walking across a grassy field towards a building (either work or college, I'm not sure). I see an odd-looking car with two guys in the back seat. Somehow, I can see that one of them is Mike R whom I've worked with a number of times but never met. I walk up to the car and introduce myself. Somehow I end up inside talking with them. Eventually a driver comes and starts to take us somewhere. I'm somewhat anxious since I'm not supposed to be there and this is some sort of research expedition. I debate about whether to ask the driver to stop, and the further we go the more anxious I get since asking him to stop after all this time would be silly. Eventually I decide just to stay and see what happens. Now we're driving by a huge monstrosity of a building. The front is incredibly wide and tall and seems to be one huge screen with hundreds of different video windows all playing at once. This is the new USPS building where they're trying to be modern and relevant. It's one of the ugliest things I've ever seen. I say that they're the "Facebook of ???." Now we're driving through another area. Somehow we transition to something my mind flags as "Jurassic Park," except it's a mad doctor who enjoys making body-part-shaped food that may or may not be actual body parts. I'm disgusted by it. Now I'm driving through town on my own. I'm having some sort of difficulty - the roads are slick, and I keep having to go up and down steps in the car. I turn to go down some steps, and even though I'm going very slowly (walking pace), I manage to knock over a girl. I jump out of the car and help her to her feet, asking if she's OK. She says she's fine and continues on her way. Unfinished ceiling I'm at "our house" working on the hole in the kids' bedroom, trying to fish out the stuff my daughter dropped into the wall. I manage to get a vantage point that reveals that the stuff may have dropped into the room below. Now I'm in the dining room, looking up. I'm amazed to see that the ceiling is incomplete, that I can see the floor joists of the room above, and I find that I can look up in the gap between the walls separating rooms, including the wall with the hole. Looking around I find the missing tights as well as a whole table cloth. I wonder how she was able to stuff that down the small hole. I continue looking at the ceiling, wondering why it's like this. The ceiling is already low, particularly with a fan, and I don't think there's any way to finish the ceiling and have it be high enough to easily walk under it. Vacation craziness We're arriving at a vacation house along with at least one other family. As we're unloading the car, my wife notices that my right wrist has a silver ring going all the way around it flush with my skin. She asks about it, and I offhandedly tell her that the doctor decided my arm needed to be replaced, so I have an artificial arm and hand now. She's appalled, wanting to know the details of why such a drastic thing was needed. I'm really not sure; I just accepted the doctor's word. She asks details about how to care for it, and I confess it's something I haven't really thought about. She finds a paper labelled something like "READ THIS FIRST: How to care for your new arm" and starts looking over it. We realize it needs to be charged periodically, and I have no idea where the charger is. I hope it's a standard plug, and I assume I can just go by Radio Shack and get a universal adapter that will serve until we can find the original adapter. Now we're all at the beach. There's some kind of kids' area nearby, so I go to check it out. Now I'm swimming in the kids' area. It seems to be a more sheltered cove, though the waves are still occasionally big. In fact, there are a few that pass over my head (my bouyancy is wrong, since I should be floating with them, not passing under them). I'm surprised that my eyes aren't stinging and assume that I'm closing my eyes just right to seal out the salt water. I'm also surprised that I have to deal with a few waves coming in the wrong direction (i.e. from the direction of the beach); I assume the big ones are hitting the shore and bouncing back, traveling back out to sea as smaller waves. I realize that, once again, I forgot to buy goggles and intend to make a note to do so. Now I'm talking with somebody in charge of the kids' cove. He asks if I'd like a bucket ride. When he sees my quizzical look, he points to where people in large floating buckets are lining up behind some kind of water vehicle, forming a long "train" to get pulled around. The buckets look too small for a full sized adult, so I decline. He starts talking about the challenges of running such a thing safely, especially when it's raining. I see a list of things they're working on, including the problem of rain adding to the weight in the buckets. It seems they track the weight so they know if a kid falls out or a bucket becomes detached, and when the buckets fill with water it messes up the "fallen kid" detector. Now we're walking along near the beach. I look up and see a drone flying past. I point it out, and my wife is amazed that I hadn't noticed more of them flying around. Now we're walking along a high pathway overlooking the city; it's quite a sight. Behind us, we see a large floating robot coming towards us, and we all take off at a run knowing this can't be good. It catches up to us and we recognize it from earlier. It ends up disobeying its orders, grabbing us, and helping us escape. Eventually it puts us down, then flies off and jams itself somewhere to block anything else that's chasing us. I'd liked it earlier, and I like it even more now, so I'm sad to see it sacrifice itself for us. Fragments I'm on top of the car as we're driving somewhere. It's a Sunday evening, but it's also the start to some festival. Suddenly all the normal lights go off and strands of Christmas lights come on. I get as low down to the car as possible; I don't want one of the strands to catch me and pull me off the roof. I'm walking around the basement spraying something everywhere. Tiny puddles are all over the place, and I wonder how they got there. I'm thankful that I won't have to track mud into the house from the basement much longer, and a middle-aged man agrees, saying he's sure the police chief will also be very relieved, since he often has to visit the person whose office is down here.
This is a short info summary from the 15th Pre bed: l-arginine (500) Natural wake: l-tyrosine (500) Didn't do wbtb, no notes on pre bed work. Focus was on sleeping, no review in mind or notes taken until final wake. The dreams were extremely vivid, wonder about the effect of this combo. Vividness may have also been boosted by lack of sleep in the days before. NLD: In some very green neighborhood that transitions into a forest, very vivid experience. I notice there are cats everywhere, more and more of them (DS). Further there's a place where this DC is giving a presentation about getting rid of the cats and making some sort of lucid camp on the same place, teaching people how to ld. Short ld: In the early part of this dream we are in a cool mansion where there is some event and I'm collecting various food items. We (me and some random and changing DC companion) then leave the mansion and I shortly get a game like view of the map where the mansion is. We decide that something is chasing is and go back in the mansion to find some item to helps us with that. The mansion is now deserted, this thing is supposedly after us, we end up jumping on roofs and climbing down couple of trees. I know it is a dream when climbing down, somewhat low awareness here. On the street, I look at the DC and tell him to repeat this is a lucid dream and remind me of it later on as I would actually like to continue with this scenario. It's a bright sunny day and I catch part of a greek temple/baroque building behind the near buildings and contemplate whether to explore it. Decide to run through my goals first but the dream ends.

Date: 3/23/2014 (Sat) Total sleep: 7 hours? Daytime Techniques: RCs (Text), visualization, Mantra Lucid Techniques: Mantra, visualization Recall Techniques: Mantra Fell Asleep: Sometime after 1 am Dream 1 Title: Ghost pinches my butt Dream 1: (Brief – I believe this was actually Hypnagogia) I am sitting on my couch in my living room. Everything looks exactly the same as reality. I am watching some random nature show. Out of habit I look down at the digital clock on the face of the cable box. There are no numbers. I know something isn’t right. I stand up and suddenly the power goes out (all the lights and the TV). I am standing in complete darkness when I feel a very strong hand pinch my left buttocks! At the same time I hear a deafening loud woman’s scream! I startle awake. (See notes below) Dream 2 Title: Random Fragments Dream 2: (See notes below) (1) I am on an island. I am standing on a rocky hill top, with long grass growing from between the rocks. It is a cloudy and slightly foggy day. I can see the ocean from where I am standing. (2) I am asking someone “Is she corporate?” I feel nervous because I feel like she has been sent from corporate to spy on us. Vividness: (scale of 1-15, 10 is waking life vividness) D1 = 8; D2 = 3; Awareness: (1-10; or lucid) D1 = 9; D2 = 3; Length: (how long it felt like! Because that matters) D1 = 1 min; D2 = 30 sec Emotions: Confusion, Fear, Peaceful, Annoyance Dream Signs: Couldn’t see text, sudden power failure, being somewhere I don’t recognize. Notes: I took only B-5 and Chorine last night. My wife and I went out with friends to see a live band last night (when we left I had a strong ringing in my ears which could explain the woman’s scream in dream 1). But my wife was coming down with an illness and we left at 10:30 pm. When we got home she was feeling horrible and couldn’t sleep. I had to drive to the 24 hour pharmacy twice. This kept me awake until after 1 am (I stopped looking at the clock at that time). On a good note: I am working very hard to develop a strong habit of searching for text (with my eyes) everywhere I go. When I see it I; look, look away and will it to change, look back. There is text everywhere in my life. So far it is an extremely rare occasion where I can’t see some kind of text (numbers or words). Last night I started with a new mantra: “When I am dreaming tonight I will seek out text, when I see it I will know I am dreaming.”
I had mostly fragments last night. This is all I remember: A pole in the middle of something, a man showing off for the military, Vampires?, and Desirae
False Awakening I got up from bed and felt extremely tired. I think I was headed to the bathroom. I had an intense headache. I lifted up my hands I don't know for what. I fell to the floor and last thing I remember was seeing Binks.
Side-note | Lucid Jeff's troubles I'm in a room with my family, Jeff C, and maybe other people. Jeff is talking about a meeting he had with his company (Verizon) that was very difficult. It seems they're trying to bring him up on false disciplinary charges and he's having to fight back really hard. They're using all kinds of dirty tricks; this last meeting wasn't even held at the time they'd originally scheduled it for. Someone comments that Jeff's superior died recently and asks if it was because of this kind of thing, but Jeff replies that it wasn't quite the same, that he actually died of an equipment failure. I realize that my second daughter is playing with Jeff's boots, that she's got some kind of tool and is pulling plugs of leather and elastic out of the heel of the boots. Jeff is displeased, making a passive aggressive comment along the lines of "I really need those," and I take a more direct tone with her. Strange construction I'm walking along a road in a neighborhood. It's a cul-de-sac, so I know it'll be ending, but I'm surprised to see that it ends a lot sooner than I think it should, with a large box of a building built right on the road. Now I'm in the building talking with one of my friends. It seems he'd managed to acquire the rights to build on top of the road, but that another guy we know heard about it and managed to acquire rights for the adjacent block. The two of them are good friends; the second man did it partly to help his friend, but also partly out of a friendly rivalry. The two are building the building jointly, though they're each staying completely to their own section and not building on the other's section at all. For such a strange joint effort, I'm impressed with how it all looks; then I notice that there's a spot where the floors come together that's really messed up and not smooth like the rest of the concrete floor. The building itself is pretty complete. It's just a huge open space, very wide, very tall, and very deep. There are some small windows, though the place seems mostly lit by artificial lighting (I don't see it, but it feels like it). Now the building is a church. The whole place is filled with chairs. Attendance is way down, since it's summer and most of the people who live here are students who have gone home fur the break. There's some kind of discussion about recording the sermon. A woman on the other side makes a comment about knowing all about big projects since she works for (my company). I hadn't realized we both worked for the same company, so I decide to introduce myself after the service is over. Now I have some kind of internal monologue about my eldest daughter learning to play Ultimate Frisbee. I see a large crowd of teenage players on a field, including my daughter (who's not yet a teen IRL). She throws the frisbee almost casually, yet it streaks straight to its intended target, another player. Oddly, none of the other players are moving, and I realize this is a game following some unusual rules. Her throw is perfect; yet it turns out she threw to the wrong target, so she (or her team) actually loses points on the throw. I'm disappointed for her. Little people in the kitchen I'm observing in a kitchen. A young man just a few inches tall is trying to move around the edge of the kitchen island. His goal is a drawer on the other side of the island where a steak knife rests. Something goes wrong and he's not able to make it. This seems to be a family of tiny people who live in the house with the normal-sized people completely unawares. The father of the little people decides the son needs to try again. For some reason, he's full-sized, so it's easy for him to re-open the drawer (I don't know how it got closed) and flip the knife on its back so the sharp side is up (just like in the original task). The son starts to get ready got climb back up, but his brother (who's terrible at this sort of thing) decides to join him. The first brother is surprised, but the second explains that he'll need to get good at this sooner or later, and the first agrees. They approach the island, except now they're at least as tall as it is. They put their backs to it and do some kind of weird backflip to get up onto it. Kitchen conversation I'm sitting with a family around a table, talking about jams and juices. I'm trying to explain to the wife that there are different kinds of juices, mostly made from fruits. This comes as a surprise to her; she thought juice always came from ???. My wife explains that most jellies and jams are made from fruit juice, not ??? juice. I'm eating something smeared with a nice berry jam of some sort. I'm still a little hungry, so I go to the fridge and get out the milk, intending to have a glass to top off. When I look at it, I realize it's separated, with white at the bottom and a milky watery layer at the top half. I realize it's just skim milk, and it would be fine if I shook it, but I put it back as I've always despised skim. Sharing a dream I debated about whether to consider this lucid or not. I decided I should, since know I'm dreaming, and I manipulate it; yet my awareness was so low that I didn't recognize my wife as a DC. I'm walking with my wife through a wide, featureless, gray hallway. I know I'm dreaming and that I just came out of another dream; yet I also believe that I'm sharing a dream with my wife a la Inception, that she's truly here with me. We discuss the previous dream, then dreaming in general. She says she doesn't think she can control the dream, so that makes me want to try. I hold out my hand, palm up, and manage to summon something small into it. I'm really pleased, as that's the first time I've been able to summon something. She tries and also summons something small into her hand; we're both really excited. Later, we're still walking in the gray hallway, talking about dreaming. I haven't ever managed to get more than a foot or two off the ground trying to fly, so I decide to try again. After a moment, I start slowly to rise from the ground. It looks like I'm slowly falling upwards, and I think I'm going to land on the ceiling. I don't want that, and I manage to stabilize myself so I'm floating along suspended between the floor and ceiling. My wife tries it and manages to do something similar. Again, we're both excited. At some point we talk about it being a bad idea to use the dream sharing device to share non-lucid dreams, since who knows what you'd see in the other person's subconscious that you'd rather not see (or they'd prefer you not to see). Now we're both walking again. She asks what else can be done in dreams. I remind her of summoning things, and I'm surprised when she shows hesitation, even though we did it not too long ago. I try again, but this time I fail. She doesn't try it, instead deciding that she's going to change her hair color from dark brown to blond. I watch her trying for a moment, then decide to help her out to give her more confidence. I start concentrating too, trying to change her hair color, but nothing happens. I close my eyes so I can picture the change more clearly; unfortunately when I open my eyes I can't see anything and I know the dream is fading. After a few moments, I wake up. I try to chain a DEILD but fail. Hunting for tools It's night. I'm by myself at "home," in an upstairs bathroom, thinking back on my childhood. Now I'm in a bedroom, trying to figure out how to get into a rotten tree in the back yard; I know there's some kind of treasure hidden in the trunk. I know I'm dreaming, but I don't think much of it. I have a huge bag of tools that I think will help me, and I decide to use an explosive to open it. The bag is on the top bunk of one of my kids' beds. I don't remember setting the charge, but it has something to do with fiddling with the lights in the bathroom across the hall. I head one room down the hallway, cover my ears, and wait. I hear words, and I'm pretty sure they're announcements of how long until the blast, but I'm not willing to uncover my ears to hear more clearly. I do move so I can stick my head into the hallway so I can try to hear more clearly. The announcement seems to be in my own voice, but I still can't make out the words. Eventually, I hear a muffled boom. All the lights in the house start slowly blinking on and off, but out of sync with each other. I go into the bathroom to turn off / undo whatever I did in there, then I go into the bedroom to find what tools I have available. Looking on the top bunk, I start sorting through the stuff. I turns out to be all stuffed animals without a single tool in sight. As I leave the bedroom, I realize that I never took the time to ground myself in the dream. I stop and slowly look around myself, trying to take everything in. I touch one wall and feel the slightly rough texture - it looks and feels like sandpaper. I touch another nearby wall which looks like it has stones embedded in it. I'm surprised by how smooth it is until I notice the thin layer of glass covering it. I kneel down and run my fingers through the carpet, feeling its texture. I'm near the end of the upstairs hallway where I see a water fountain. A little doubt crosses my mind - is a water fountain normally found in a house? - but I shrug it off and decide to get a drink. I approach the water fountain, turn the handle, and get a drink. I take note of how cold and wet it feels, and I find it very pleasant. Now that I've grounded myself in the dream, I decide to go down to the garage to get the tool I need. Now I'm in the kitchen. My mind wanders some, thinking of Robert G. He was in the military, did well for a while (though his father was terrified he'd be killed), but eventually lost his leg and had to come home. I fondly recall him, and think that for the first few years of my life I was a G before becoming part of another family. Now I'm going down a second flight of steps towards the garage. As I'm going down the steps I consider throwing myself down them and trying to fly, but I can't bring myself to do it. At the bottom of the stairs, I see the door into the garage is already ajar. I try to open it by thought, but nothing happens. I push it open and go through. In the garage, I'm surprised to see that the left-hand garage door is open and that Mike D is parked outside, tools out, working on a car that's half pulled into the garage. I ignore him at first, walking to the other side of the garage and digging through my pile of tools. I find something that looks kind of twisted and not really useful, but it's a big hunk of metal if nothing else and should be able to knock the rotten wood away from the tree. I grab it and head out the garage through the open garage door. I look through Mike's pile of tools and grab something else. , My wife's alarm wakes me up. The synthesizer I'm in the audience at a concert. I really don't like the music much. Now the concert seems to be over, but the two musicians are still there, playing for a handful of people in the front row. I walk down to take a closer look. The main musician is playing what appears to be an electric banjo. As I watch, he stops plucking at it and pulls out a bow to use on it; I'm impressed and look forward to hearing what sound that makes. The bow is actually fairly nice on it. As I look more closely, I see that it's not a banjo at all, but rather a large box with belts running side-to-side in it. The bow is moving the belts side-to-side and up and down, and sensors on the ends of the belt read his motions and produce sound. As he's playing, he frequently reconfigures the belts to produce different types of sounds. He sees me watching and says "It's a synthesizer" as if that explains completely what he's doing. Fragment I'm driving on a long road. It's perfectly straight without a single turn, but it goes up and down some fairly hilly terrain. I know I'll be turning right into a large church.

LUCID SUCCESSSSSS just in time for the end of the competition (#17) Imma try extra hard to get the dream timing figured out AHH I feel like my recall is so bad now, I keep losing important pieces of the dreams and the timing gets so confused whyyyyy To be fair I've never tried to recall dreams every morning. So that might be why. But this is a LUCID DREAM. WHY WOULD I FORGET THE DETAILS OF SOMETHING LIKE THAT ... is my recall getting worse or am I just gradually becoming more demanding... you know what, looking back I'm pretty sure it's that I'm being more demanding. I want to have PERFECT RECALL and when I don't I act like that's some huge problem. And my poor brain's just trying its best every time, probably, and I'm just running it into the ground because nothing's ever good enough. so I think I'll just accept what happens and not worry too much about somehow forcing my brain to have non-stop perfect recall. step one for having a less stressful liiiiiiife~ plus I just feel like crap, maybe I'm getting sick or something. Huh. *some caffeine later* expect some tense changes at random 'cause it took me forever to write this... Dream 1 - At the Beach (Lucid #3) Alright, I remember for sure this is the first dream I had. So I think the family's driving to this beach and we pull up, in the dream I was like "aha, this is [Spring Whatever Beach Name from IWL]!" like we'd been here before and it was familiar, but now I'm realizing it was just some place my brain made up. Weird. Whatever let's call it Spring Beach, we hop out and it's this sweet, Stone Harbory sort of place, with white sand and hotels by the shore. Very nice. We head into the hotel and get situated. We're all in some room that reminds me of a college dorm or something, and I'm off near the back, closer to the window while the rest of the family's having a grand old time taking pictures. Of each other. In a way that wasn't weird at all. *blacks out memories* Then Ben wandered over to me asking why I was chilling over there and I was like, eh. Just 'cause. Next, mom and dad had wandered off, and Jess and Ben and I were kinda meandering the hotel because that's the best thing to do when you're at a hotel with your siblings, and then it just starts storming like crazy. I look out this large window to the right, and see the white beach with the waves crashing and all that good stuff, and lighting going from the sky to the sea, looks pretty amazing. And then, probably because I'm anticipating when the lightning stops, it just kind of keeps going, just lightning pretty much all the time. Scary. I start thinking about how close the hotel is to the ocean, and how oceanside storms are crazy or whatever. Then I look left and there's FLOODWATER WASHING UP AGAINST THE WINDOW. AND RISING. I'm like WHAT. I think this is about when I did a reality check and became lucid, but since I can't truly remember I ain't countin' the reality check. I just know I became lucid at some point. Uhhh I don't knowwww why there's a hole in my memory at this point, but I believe I wandered outside and I remember quite clearly attempting to summon matches (like I'd been planning since I picked my three-step tasks for Scionox's: pass hand through object, because I'd never done it before, pull matches out of my pocket, and then make a fire and control it). I reached into my pocket (which was very small and tight because jeans) and dug around for a sec, experiencing a brief moment of doubt before discovering a box of matches and pulling them out. I opened them and took a match out, and was considering striking it ... but I was standing in grass in front of a forest, and some old forest guardian was freaking out because he thought I was going to burn the place down, so I just dropped it on the ground instead. HMMM I think I woke up. I also know for a fact that I flew around at times, but the memories are hard to fit anywhere. Oh well I suppose I'll give up on this one. Dream 2 - FA (Lucid #4) So I'm lying in bed face-down thinking that I'm going to fall asleep soon, when I feel this crazy wave of vibrations go through my body. It basically felt like, uh, vibrating. I was going to get all fancy and describe it but I can't totally sum it up. Felt familiar though, for some reason. I experience a bit of fear that this might be another SP episode and for a moment it almost seems that way, but then I realize I can move? Or something? GAHHH MEMORYYYYY Anyway I didn't really get what was going on, was lying still again, then felt a second wave of those crazy vibrations and had the idea that this was my dream body. Did a reality check, success, sat up in bed and looked out the window. Crazy. The blinds were raised or gone and looking outside I see my front yard, except it's not my front yard because it's far more fancy. It looks amazing, actually. Much better than my REAL front yard... I want to get outside, so I start tracing a hole in the glass. Once I complete a circuit, the enclosed glass just falls out and basically vanishes. I do this a few times, then stop and try to fit through and fail, so I keep doin' it. Eventually I manage to fit through and drop to the ground. There's a road leading away from my house, which quickly becomes a city street that branches left and right (visual aid: T). I proceed and go right, then left into a sort of alley that opens up into a nice behind-a-restaurant eating area. There are two black cows chillin', and I decide to try to use my arm cannon on them, but it fails. Maybe I just can't make up my mind what exactly is supposed to happen? Then some dude runs up behind me panicking because I look like I'm about to blast his cows. Apparently he came all the way from the countryside chasing these dumb cows. Think I had another FA, but this time when I did the nose pinch check, my IWL nose kinda sniffled and I realized I was close to waking up. I focused on immersing myself in the dream until I felt that I was fairly distant from my IWL body (sniffling stopped), and then proceededdd... It was raining and I was thinking about how I'd already done match summoning, and now I had to do elemental manipulation. I decided to try to control the rain, and reached out towards a car going down the street to my right, trying to imagine the rain somehow converging to stop it. Not much happened. Next I decided to try simply moving cars around (the idea being that it was metal manipulation somehow), but that failed as well. Then I saw a giant firetruck and stepped out in front of it, holding out my hand and imagining it coming to a stop, which it did—but I figured it was because the drivers hadn't wanted to run me over. The firetruck was so large that I only came up to its grill; the window the drivers were looking out of was well over my head. I reached out, put my fingers under the grill somewhere, and started lifting, still thinking about metal manipulation, and the firetruck suddenly became as light as anything, and the whole thing lifted off the ground. I tried to throw it, but it being so light it sort of drifted backward through the air unsatisfactorily, instead of crashing to the ground with an earth-shattering rumble. I'm not sure it ever really hit the ground, but it did arc somewhat. I was going for some kind of elemental manipulation but yes, under the stress of the moment I performed mass-TK instead. And then there was one last bit where I was at some kind of theater and tried to clear a space on the wall for a portal, moving bulletins and junk out of the way only to find more under them. Finally I'd cleared a semi-workable space and drew a tall rectangle on the wall, four sides with four colors, and then tried to imagine Stone Harbor on the other side. It didn't quiiite work... And uhh one last fragment where I was by my window again, but this time there was some ... video-game, anime sort of girl sitting to my left, wearing odd clothes (black but with bright colorful highlights as well), never seen her before. I demonstrated my ability to drop out pieces of the windowpane by drawing two parallel lines at the same time, horizontally right across the window, at which point a wide, flat rectangle dropped out. I'm callin' that two dreams 'cause who knows. Could've been more, maybe less, so I'm working with the middle. HMMM.

Date: 3/22/2014 (Fri) Total sleep: 8 hours Daytime Techniques: RCs, visualization, Lucid Techniques: Mantra, brief hand technique Recall Techniques: Mantra Fell Asleep: 12:00 am Dream 1 Title: Cars (fragment) Dream 1: I’m driving an old 1960’s British car, which is yellow. I am chasing another car (same make/model) but it is white. We are on a British country road. There are no houses to be seen, just miles of grassland. There is someone else in the car with me, but I don’t remember who. The road splits ahead. The white car goes left, down a hill. We go right up a hill. The roads run parallel to each other. As we reach the peak of the hill I cut the wheel sharply to the left, we jump off of a cliff, fly through the air, and land on the roof of the white car. We stay perfectly on top of the white care as it rolls off the road to a stop. I can’t remember anything else. Dream 2 Title: Messy Room Dream 2: I am in my parent’s house, in my old room (from high school). The room is a complete mess. It is full of old junk. I know I need to get it organized. There are boxes full of stuff on the floor, the dresser tops are covered in stuff, there are many shelves on the wall full of knick-knacks and figurines, my closet is full of shelves full of old shoes as well as a long hanger pole which is stuffed with old cloths on hangers. I know all of this stuff was purchased by my parents at yard sales. I am very frustrated because there is nowhere to put all the stuff that is in boxes on the floor. Yet I know I need to get it organized and put away. Jen, my daughter and her friend come into the room. They are going to help. We are all looking though the boxes. I find an interesting item. It looks like a tiny cactus in a tiny red pot, but the cactus is made from natural, uncut, blue crystal. I take it to the window and look closely at it. It glimmers in the sunlight. I place it on the edge between the top and bottom halves of the window. I adjust its position so the sunlight catches it just right. When the light passes through the crystal it casts an amazing blue image on the floor. It looks like a moving blue laser light show. My wife and the kids are amazed. I continue to try to organize the room, the dream gets foggy and I wake up. Dream 3 Title: Old Truck Dream 3: I am outside on a nice summer day. I am in a residential neighborhood (I don’t recognize it from real life). There is an old 1950’s red (with faded paint and lots of rust) pickup truck parked on the side of the road. I go to it, open the driver’s side door, and try to get in, but the truck rolls forward into the street. There is a couple there. The woman tells me that her grandfather has been fixing up the truck and I shouldn’t touch it because it may break. I apologize. I grab the frame of the open door and begin to move the truck (with super human strength) back to its original position. The rear axel and wheels come off and roll away. I feel really bad about breaking the truck. The woman (slim, with short red hair) comes over and tells me to help her lift the trick up so her husband can put the axel back in place. We bend down, grab hold, and lift the truck up. As we press the truck up over our heads (super human strength) the woman’s shirt gets caught on something and is pulled up exposing her small perky breasts…the dream fades and I wake up. Dream 4 Title: Matrix Kid Dream 4: I am back in my old bedroom (from Dream 1). I am laying in bed. The room looks similar to dream 1, but without all the junk. There are many pictures hanging on the walls. Jen comes in and tells me I need to get up and get ready for a family party. I get up just as two young girls run in the room. One is my daughter (but she doesn’t look like my daughter and it only about 8 years old), the other is my niece (but she doesn’t look like my niece and is only 3-4 years old). My daughter runs to one of the walls, jumps up, and begins to run across the tops of the picture frames (this looks like something out of the Matrix movie). My niece follows her. As my daughter jumps for the last picture frame on the wall, she flies over a dresser and lands gently on the floor. My niece tries to follow but falls and crashes on top of the dresser. Knick-Knacks go flying everywhere and she falls to the floor. She is crying. I go over to see if she is alright, she is ok. I shout to my daughter to come back in the room, and she does. I tell her that can’t do that anymore today because the smaller kids will try to follow her and get hurt. She says “Okay” and leaves the room. The dream gets foggy at this point. I vaguely remember helping my wife clean the house, by going from room to room picking up stuff off of the floor. At some point I go to the supermarket to get some stuff for the party. I wake up Awake: 8 am Vividness: (scale of 1-15, 10 is waking life vividness) D1 = 5; D2 = 7; D2 = 6; D4 = 7 Awareness: (1-10; or lucid) D1 = 3; D2 = 5; D3 = 4; D4 = 5 Length: (how long it felt like! Because that matters) D1 = 2 min; D2 = 10 min; D3 = 4 min; D4 = 15 min Emotions: Annoyance, frustration; guilt Dream Signs: super human strength, kids I know but don’t look like they should, kids doing matrix moves, crystal casing a laser light show Notes: I took some melatonin last night along with the B-5 and Chorine. Got to bed late.

aaaaaaaaaafter this I'm just gonna sleep without an alarm because sleepyyyy note: WILD-wise, my problem doesn't seem to be "not being able to fall asleep" anymore ... now it's that I fall asleep easily and aaaa Fragment 1 I was watchin' some anime or movie or something, and these free-spirit good guys (members of some larger good guy group but banded together with each other) woke up during the night and hopped on horses to ride out of town for some reason. Somethin' important to accomplish out there. Kind of an Old West sort of town. There were maybe about six horse guys and then as they rode they started boundin' along the roofs, leaping from one building to the next; and one guy even leapt up to some tall buildings near the front of the town, and then leapt to the top of the welcome gate thing, and then leapt down. I was like whoaaa at that one guy, and mom was watching or had just started watching, so I rewound the anime/movie/whatever so she could watch this crazy daredevil guy. But he didn't do it this time. He did some other thing. I was just sort of annoyed 'cause I kept waiting for the same thing to happen and then before you know it they were outta the town. Huh. Also some bit about the six of 'em bein' in a cave at night. Fragment 2 Mom, Ben, Jess and I are riding up and down these escalators. There're like, three floors of this building. Think it had glass walls but I couldn't really see outside. Anyway the basic premise was that we had to ride the escalators in a certain (short) order, because that would unlock the sliding automatic doors on the first floor. Apparently they were trying to make sure that we looked outside and caught a glimpse of the Lincoln Memorial during our escalator riding, "Lincoln Memorial" being the password that flashed when you'd done it right. Pretty sure I said that to Ben in the dream so it's probably dream canon! On our last go-round I looked down and saw an old lady going up, so I had to move to the left. Shoot, I know I'm missing something. It was more than just escalator riding but aaaaaaaaa. The whole thing was pretty vivid, which was nice. *yaawwnn* back to bed...

1. [Non-Lucid] My Nan has these games on the PC upstairs, so I struggle to walk up the stairs and get a little stuck but manage to pull on the stair gate to become unstuck. Now I'm in a game, I'm a tank, a really fast tank, so I'm zooming about the level in my fast tank, I hit a curved wall and it turns the tank and grinds to a halt against the wall, I managed to get free from the wall and try and cross this road by maneuvering around the cars. I'm now in a town with a lot of people in it, I am protecting this town from bad guys with shotguns, I'm in a fight with this guy who has a Sawnoff shotgun, he shoots me so I shoot back twice then he shoots me a second time just before he dies, I blackout and wake up in a small room, theirs a guy sitting down, I stand up and say "damn my ass is sore", it feels sore because it somehow got burnt by a shotgun. ----------------- Fragments: I'n a lineup to talk or sing in front of a few people, I really didn't want too. Accidentally called my sister gab. I see a woman dressed in red and yellow standing at a balcony. With this woman, its very dark, there are candles. Possible dream signs: Sister, gab, stairs
UH SHOOT. I dreamed something... then I woke up at some point and remembered it... and then fell back asleep and then at some point alarm went off, so gg. I think when I started doing WBTB's my intent and my mind were so in sync that I would wake up from a dream to my WBTB alarm, and BAM: fantastic recall. But now I'm slackin' off in that regard, so I wake up a bit earlier, then fall back asleep and forget ... which might mean I'll have to get used to getting up even if my alarm isn't going off. And if that's the case I may as well put my computer next to my bed so I can blind myself with the screen's light at will. We shall seeeeee~ Also I tried somethin' a bit different for this WBTB: turned on the light and drank a cup of apple cider while I was writing this. Maybe it'll make some kinda difference? Also gonna try sleeping for another 1.5 hours and then doing another WBTB. Maybe. Fragment Uhhhmmm okay so one part that I remember was that Mom and I were walking to some kind of bus stop as part of the larger dream (which featured a fairly evil Big Bad), and then I started using dream powers of some sort. Wasn't lucid at all, so they were just dream facts. Think I mighta been hovering around. There was some sort of larger point to that scene, and my actions. Uhhhhhh... the overall scheme of the dream revolved around this Big Bad sort of guy, some kind of mega-evil ghost or god of some sort, and the Saturday-morning-cartoon-style child protagonists who dared to defy him. Not that it worked out for them in a saturday-morning-cartoon sort of way. Had a bit of an Animorphs vibe, I think. I can sort of remember a bit where some Jake or Toby-esque (from Animorphs) leader kid was physically trapped in some kinda inescapable magic hold of the evil guy's. For now the bad guy was just talking to him .. but he was the sort of villain that could drive a person crazy just by talking to them, just by very deliberately toying with their mind and emotions and whatever else he could use. Also, it didn't matter to him that his opponents were children. The fact that they were challenging him was, in his mind, justification enough for him being utterly ruthless. But he did seem to realize that they posed less of a threat, and with apparently no other, more pressing issues to face, he made slowly and deliberately taking them apart his sole and temporary focus. He was immortal for whatever reason (leaning more towards god than ghost), so he had that sort of "entertain me" or "alleviate my boredom" vibe that immortal people tend to have in stories. Over the course of the dream some crazy things happened that I don't recall, as the bad guy proceeded to gradually win and convince some of the kids that fighting simply wasn't worth it anymore, and they might as well switch to his side. That's about where the dream ended, I think, with a shot of a room strongly featuring his presence, and with a few dejected kids sitting around waiting for his orders or whatever. Anyway I'm callin' all that a fragment because the dream as it exists in my memory is a mere shadow of its former self, and while the story's background remains relatively strong in my mind, any events of the story have, for the most part, fled. Which is kind of annoying because it was such a weird and unique and interesting story, to me, and the only copy was in my mind and I dropped the baaaallllllll~

Fragments: On a bus going to this place, The Stig is sat next to me silent as always. I see Dave, my old sports tutor. I saw Jeremy Clarkson for some reason. I see this room full of monsters on some sort of conveyor belt. Possible dream signs: Dave, Clarkson, Stig
Fragment 1: someone wanted to know whether two people could simultaneously do a certain thing on database, and the answer was yes. Fragment 2: I had some sort of marks on my arm, and my husband asked "how did you get those burns?", and I explained those were not burns but skretches
1. [Non-Lucid] In a car trying to get a parking space, this is proving very difficult so I decide to park in front of these 2 parked cars, then this guy get annoyed and argues that we can't park there, so I drove out of the way...1 of the parked cars is gone now but a white car quickly steels the empty space. Now I'm in a casino with this guy who's looking for a stack of money he hid somewhere, he climbs this wall and throws down a stack of money, I try to catch it but miss so I go pick it up, Now the room is full of people, these people start attacking us so we run and they chase us. 2. [Non-Lucid] I'm in some sort of space ship with some other people/aliens, I ask to go outside so I can go home or something, so now I'm floating through space and I realize I'm stuck here in space so I get sad because I can't get home, I find a big container so I go open it up and I find its full of food. -------------- Fragments: Playing GTA V driving around in an orange cop car. See some square black cube thing with eyes. Searching for some guy.
