Non-Lucid Dreams
I was a priest in a medieval town. I explained a game the townspeople liked to play to Nicole. One person would hide behind a wall and chuck explosives into the crowd. Meanwhile, a turtle shell was thrown back and forth between the bomber and representatives of the populace. I went over to an area divided into cubes of space with open ceilings. There were supposed to be portals to other worlds here, but I disabled them. Once I was behind the wall, I made a screeching sound recognized as the start of the bomber game. I lobbed a bomb into an unsuspecting group of people on the other side. The turtle shell came flying over the wall, and I sent it back with a mighty punch. I’m glad my knuckles didn’t break. Every now and then as the shell bounced between both sides, one of us slipped – usually me. The score was 5-2 before long. I knew I had to catch up. I used bombs to propel the turtle shell further and further away from the wall, theoretically decreasing the likelihood that it would land near someone who was paying attention. It always managed to come back. Once, the explosion itself seemed to fling the shell at my face… I wasn’t sure how that made any physical sense. The score was 6-2… One more point to the enemy would mean their victory. I hovered in the air, flinging the shell with ease back at the public representatives. I started floating higher and couldn’t get myself to go back down. Eventually, I couldn’t reach the shell to prevent it from dropping into my small room. As it fell behind the wall, an announcer said that the gateways to the other worlds had been reopened. Her voice was somewhat robotic, but very different from Symphony’s. Glowing, purple pits appeared on the floor of the cube rooms below me. I descended to the ground near an apple tree and started walking around. Someone thought I was really a priest and tried to give me their confession. “I’m just roleplaying,” I explained. He left me alone. Steve (from my second semester of physics) showed me this disgusting candy that was apparently too dangerous to keep in your mouth for more than ten minutes. It came as half of a sucker with the inside hollowed out. A toxic, pink dye coated the inside. Within seconds, it turned your entire mouth pink with the toxin. I refused to try it.
It was early summer, and a bunch of obnoxious, red bugs had flown north from Mexico to reproduce in our humid climate. Everywhere I looked, I saw them… They crawled on my skin – especially the arms – and my laptop screen. I killed them, of course, but there were always more waiting to occupy the surface of my body. Sometimes they bit me, too. I was really starting to lose my peace of mind with all these buzzing bugs around me. I read through comments on my dream journal. I noticed that most of new ones were from the same person… His avatar was one of those red bugs! I sighed when I realized all but one of his comments were obviously spam. I erased those. His semi-legitimate comment consisted of a series of images and an accompanying narration. He posted this on my “Your Dreams” page. The comment described dreams of American ships churning out swastika-branded cheese wheels. They created these on top of some kind of tower in the middle of the ship. A rotating blade cut the swastika shape out of the bottom of the cheese as it rested atop the tower. I watched this happen as though I was flying over one of the ships. I was confused when I noticed the blade was tearing up the enormous cheese wheel… The cheese became stuck to the blade and eventually clogged up the whole system. The comment continued with a description of WakingNomad sleeping on the floor of a wooden shack. I saw myself on the floor, too, but I wasn’t covered by a blanket. Nomad burst aside, jumped to his feet (at this point, I realized he was naked, but he didn’t seem to care), and started shouting about the wonders of life. I slowly sat up. As my vision left the image, I saw this was the end of the comment. I decided I wouldn’t trash it. Unfortunately, as I scrolled down, I saw an advertisement for microwaves that I hadn’t put on the page… I realized he must have put something in the comment to cause this to appear. I temporarily marked it as spam while I scanned the comment text and removed the advertisement. Once this was taken care of, I restored the comment and replied, briefly explaining what I had taken out. The dream jumped. My parents and I drove around a shopping center. It looked like the one on the way to Nicole’s school. Whenever we came to a store we considered stupid or poorly managed, we pushed a button on a remote control to change it to another store. We only left two stores in the whole shopping center unchanged. The first was a huge laundromat run by Janet Jackson. Even though my mom does all of her laundry at home, she seemed to like this place… We changed it a few times to see what would happen, but she eventually asked me to change it back, so I did. The second was a clothing store run by someone named Hyu Chan. I got the impression that he was meant to be the Hyu from Dreamviews. A sign posted on the door warned us that only Hyu Chan was permitted to drop the “Chan” from his name – so if I called him Hyu, he would be furious. The man had buck teeth and bug-eyed nerd glasses. My dad walked over to the suits and criticized them, instigating Hyu Chan’s rage. He asked my dad to leave. I picked up a brochure on Hyu and found his website (www.hyu.co.eu or something like that). It was essentially a fan site for the company he worked for. As Hyu Chan admitted in his self-published brochure, it was a bit strange for him to create his own version of the company website, but that was how he chose to express his pride in his work.
I was walking in the P-field with D and P, and we saw some guy drinking beer and we recognised him as one of N's friends, but I still hadnt met that guy ever.
I took 800 mg of valerian before bed last night. As often happens after taking valerian, I had some very unsettling dreams. Perhaps not so much what others would call nightmares, but so vivid as to be hard to go through. Nursing Home I go to a nursing home to visit my great aunt. She is supposedly suffering from Alzheimer's, but seems to be bright and talkative. In fact, she is almost a little overbearing. She keeps talking real loud, laughing, and telling stories. I wonder if she really has Alzheimer's, or is somehow cured. Death of my Father My father goes to a doctor's appointment. On the way, he calls me, and tells me that he is dying. There is nothing I can do to save him, as he is having a heart attack right on the spot. For a while after this, the dream is spent in tears. This dream really felt like RL, due in part to the valerian supplement. I go home, and my mother informs me that they found my father's body. I say that I know. We cry together. After a time, I think that perhaps I should try to go on with life as usual. I look up. My father is sitting on the couch. "Enough of this crying," he says. "What are we going to do tonight?" We look at him, and my mother says something about how loved ones will appear after their death when you are in mourning. He disappears, and I go back to crying. He shows up again once or twice, and appears to act like nothing is unusual. I know it is not real, though. A little later in the dream I am talking with someone. We are discussing grief, and how I shouldn't cry too much. I bring up a part I read in CS Lewis' "A Grief Observed" where he talks about giving in to tears as almost a self-indulgant pleasure. I say that an honorable person should not do that. Baseball I am at a basebell game, watching the Cleveland Indians win some kind of championship game. They hit the winning home run, and it comes my direction. I am unable to catch it, and it goes out of the stadium. I get really excited about the Indians winning. Still happy and excited, I walk down the street, leaving the stadium. I look at the yard of a house on my right, which is just behind the stadium. I see a baseball sitting in the yard, and can see a path in the snow running from the direction of the ballpark, as though it had landed and then slid across the ground before coming to a stop. I know that this is the home run winning baseball. I pull it over to me with my foot since there is a wooden fence around the yard and I don't want to trespass. I am about to pick up the ball when I realize that perhaps if it is in their yard it rightfully belongs to them. I debate about this, knowing that the winning ball will be worth something. I think that the honest thing to do is to bury the ball under snow, and send a letter to the owner of the house telling them that the ball is in their yard.
I am sitting in my college's band/choir/orchestra room and I am with a bunch of people from my high school. We are singing some song and we are not singing badly but we are not singing well either. I remember everything my choir director has taught us and instantly fix my singing. I feel good about it and the dream ends.
I am at some sort of public pool. The ground around is is golden brick and there are places where it goes back into an alley and the ground is grass instead of brick. My brother is there as well as a few people I don't know but are my "friends". I walk around for a while and do a few things I don't remember but then I go to the far alley where the ground is full of lush green grass. At the end of this alley, there is a pine tree. I look at the tree and try to figure out what I'm supposed to do with it. I try a few things but then go back to the pool. I go to the edge of the pool closest to the entrance and look through a pile of clothes for a swim-suit. I find a grey one but then walk back over to the alleyway. My brother goes over with me this time and we're both trying to figure it out. Suddenly, he pulls out a chainsaw and starts attacking me with it like Doom. It is almost like in a game. My vision flashes red and a jump up to a high alcove on the wall. He then forgets about it and so do I. I jump back down, go over to the tree and take out a flamethrower. My brother says burning it won't work but I use the flamethrower on the tree anyway. I literally get this menu that says "Use flamethrower on tree". I selected that option and burn the tree. Suddenly, I see an overview game. The floor texture is a salmon brick pattern and the walls are black. The character likes something like the avatar of the pokemon games. I guide the character down and find the game in a darker room. The brick pattern has changed to dark blue/purple. The walls are still black. There are enemies now and I go to fight them. I kill one with some sort of red shot. Then one of the enemies hits me and I find I can't shoot anymore. I then notice that the character has turned into some sort of animal. Every time I get hit, the character turns into a more primitive animal and after a period of time the character progressively returns to normal. I manage to avoid the enemies enough to return to normal. I kill one and get hit by another. I run away going down into the next room and I start fighting the next enemies. I am doing better. I kill many enemies and they progressively get bigger and bigger. The game gradually transitions to a side-scrolling platformer similar to castlevania. I run along the floor. I see a massive white and blue dragon-like monster and hit it with a sword. It dies. I go further and jump up on a few platforms killing similar beasts as I go. Not much later, the dream ends.
I am in some high-contrast green field, fighting a very Kingdom-Hearts-like suit of armor. I win but just barely. I man shows up and gives me a catalog of power-ups and techniques. I look through and there are many dealing with that suit of armor. One in particular had something to do with making them disappear in a bunch of yellow stars and getting points or something. I think, "What a useless power-up", then wake up.
I am driving down a highway road very fast with my Mom in the passenger seat. The turn comes up and I put the brakes on full but the car keeps going. After the turn, there are pieces of concrete in the road and it eventually dead ends. The car crashes into the barrier at the end of the road but receives no damage. I start to back up and the dream snaps to a different road. I drive down this road entirely too fast as well. I take a right and find myself on the same road as the front-flash. This time, my Mom yells at me to slow down. I step on the brakes, and again, the car does not stop in time and we crash into the barrier. I back up and turn around, the other drivers are looking at me. I drive up and turn onto the off-ramp. The road circles around to the left and suddenly, I find myself on that road but not in a car. My mom is standing next to me and there is no traffic. I somehow have a box of cornflakes and I pour some in my empty coffee mug. I then pour some steaming milk into the cereal. I forget about the box and the milk and, as this is a dream, they disappear. I have the feeling my Mom and I are going to my high school. I can see the back of the stadium as if we are on rt 100 but the road does not match. We start walking down the road to get there and the dream ends.

Found some time to write the rest! Awake Non-Lucid So, Arron the wolf and I are going to hunt Rochelle and complete the game. The woods are still dark, but I find a small tunnel. I manage to crawl through, until I come across two girls my age. They're part of the game. I hit one, causing her face to hit the tunnel, the other one snaps a picture, and then punches me. I float upwards, through the tunnel. She killed me, but the game isn't complete. It looks like she's dead too. I am not human anymore, or not in human form. I'm simply there. I realise that in the middle of the forest is a large, field like square patch of sand. There's a building in the middle. Two guys stand next to each other on it. The sky is red, with black clouds hanging in the air. A voice rings out. It says that the two men will fight to the death. The survivor will win the game. I float closer, to get a better look. One of them is short and bald. He's covered in thin, golden tattoos and is chinese. The other is taller, arrogant looking, and from korea. The Korean man wins. I drop onto the building to start a new game. The Korean guy attacks me. I back flip, kicking him in the face. The two girls scream and rush forwards. I have no experience in fighting but the moves come from no where. I spin my hands around, punching, kicking and flipping about like people in videogames. Eventually I get hit though, and I die again.
I have poor recall on this dream, but basically there were several women vying for the position of host for a radio show or as an advertising spokesperson. They were all trying to earn a vote. This one lady came up to me and put her face up against mine to seduce my vote. She kind of ended up kissing me, and then knocking me over a couch or onto a bed. Her appearance changed to another woman who slid down the covers. She put her face close to my groin. I thought how nice it was, but she could just go ahead and give me what I really want. She kind of starts to, but never really did. I felt good, but I was disappointed I couldn't get her to commit. I woke up and had to go to the bathroom. Maybe drinking the perfect amount of liquid could induce a sexual dream in a man without waking him up. Hmmmmm.
Pug Genocide and the Obstacle Course I’m on my street walking two dogs, a Pomeranian and a pug. I make sure to keep them walking on the right side of the road, and my dream-mind thinks of how much I like the direction of East. I have trouble keeping them out of the roads but I manage to take them to my destination: a big building with all the kids from school waiting in line outside. There’s something going on, but I don’t really know what. I notice that if I get in line, I’ll be waiting for hours. It’s extremely hot out, the peak of summer. I see my Uncle Pat come at me from a distance. He has a shot gun. Suddenly I am being pulled to the ground. I can’t see anything and my dogs are taken. Hands are over me. I am put in a car. I open my eyes. I’m in the backseat. My mom’s in front with my Nana and the dogs are here in the back. The windows are rolled up and we’re all sweating really hard because of the heat. “You can’t take Pugs out in the open,” my Nana says. She explains that they are being killed off, and my Uncle is one of the men who shoots them. I don’t know why it’s happening. I roll a window down and shove my face out. It’s a little refreshing. I draw things in the thick condensation that’s formed on the windows. They drop me off at my dream-house, where I’m staying. It’s night time. I take the dogs into a shed and ruffle through a few boxes. I find a purple wig and put it on. In the mirror, I look the same, and my wig looks really funny. I can’t fit all my hair under it. I go into the house. I’m staying with an autistic boy and his autistic friend. They annoy me, not because they’re autistic, but they won’t leave me alone for a moment. I try to run into my room and quickly close the door, but they get in. I do it again, forcefully and lock the door. The dogs play around in my room. The scene jumps to me going back to the building with the school kids. It’s daytime again, but the same day, just a few hours later. No one is outside and I see the tail end of the line going in. Shit. To go in, you walk up some stairs on the side of the building, so I do that. The next part is the beginning of a big obstacle course. I didn’t know that was what this was. Derek, my friend, is in front of me. After the stairs, you climb through a window-esque opening. I do so, but after casually going through, I am almost falling off a circular ledge that leads from the outside to the inside. Below me, all the kids are doing their obstacles or just watching me fall. This is the first part, and I’m already failing. Well I didn’t know about it, so I don’t feel that bad, I don’t really care about this. The ledge is absolutely terrifying, however. I fall more, and I’m dangling half inside half outside the building, my hands on the ledge. “Fuck all you hoes,” I say (lols) and manage to lift myself up. I slink around the ledge and come to a bigger part of it. Kayla, a schoolmate, is in back of me. There are two doorways. They are both extremely small. I enter one, and it gets blistering hot as I walk through. I take off my hoodie, and my mind says this is why my dream has been so hot. It’s still hot in the hallway. It zigzags vertically and becomes too small to fit through. I look back and see Kayla has taken the other hallway, the correct choice. Shit, failed again. Scene change to the end of the course. I’ve probably come in last, but I’m hanging out with the first place and second place kids until they make a final announcement. It’s kind of like a break time. First place is “Heather”, although it doesn’t look like her and she keeps taking her glasses off (which she doesn’t have in waking life) and saying how she can’t see. Circle Class I am in a big fancy house and I am going to interview someone. They bring me to the “tea room”, which is a huge circular white room. I sit down. Scene change to me sitting in the room, but in a desk. There are about thirty desks all arranged in a circular way. I see Jack sitting on the other side of the circle. I’m talking to Megan, a childhood friend, and Derek, a friend from school. We talk for a long time, most of the dream, but I don’t remember dialogue much. My mouth is really dry. I look down the line and see Heather talking to a friend, Aimee. I get a jealousy pang but remember that I’m having a quite good time myself here talking with Megan. We are sitting in rolly chairs and I spin around the room, having some fun. For some reason, a lot of people start to leave. I think they’ll come back so I wait. Eventually it’s just me and a few kids near Jack who are really dedicated students and wouldn’t leave a class. I know everyone is having a good time without me, and I get very upset. I see Derek left me a drawing. It’s really good, and on the back it has a black scratch area. It reveals rainbow colors if you scratch it away. I doodle on it and think about what Heather is doing without me. I do some funny things to entertain the students, who laugh, but I can’t close my mouth. It’s too dry! I wake up, and have the worst dry mouth. I drink water and go back to bed. Fragment I am in Goodwill with my mom and someone else. This girl Emily who is really disgusting is here. She points to a sailing instrument, a tiny globe that has a handle under it that controls a grid laying over the earth. It tells you longitude and latitude numbers. I really want it, but it’s thirty dollars. I carry it around and slip it into my pocket. I check out the records and they have video game soundtracks. I really want the Donkey Kong 64 Part 2 (doesn’t exist!) soundtrack, or the Banjoe Tooie. No money, oh well. I think about telling my friend Lotie about them, because she just got a record player. I look at a television playing something on a shelf. A thought comes to mind that my mom had cancer in my dream or something. The dream details on this, but I don’t recall any of it. Fragment It’s a year later than now, and I “wake up” in a daze into the new present time, knowing nothing of the past year. I ask Heather all the things we did in the passing year, and have my mom tell me some things we did too. I go to a park with my mom and dad and my dad uncovers my old bike from under a hiding spot. He said I put it there last year. Fragment I'm in my first room ever. On the ground there are two vests, identical. Weird, I think. Why would that happen? I could be dreaming. I become lucid, look at the vests, and see they are remarkably different. I wake up.
Comment Dream Lucid Amount of sleep: 10.5 hours Supplement before sleep: Fanta exotic Epic: 8.1/10 Real: 6.5/10 I was in a house that felt like being on top of a mountain. I was at a guy who had injured himself. the house was designed as a large aircraft. I knew none of those who was there. The house was almost like our cabin only reversed, it was stairs going down instead of up, the rooms were almost the same place, and the kitchen and living room was where they should be. Later I went skiing or something in a high mountain pass, it was a dive on one side and a large frozen lake on the other side. (Clear references to our cabin and the cabin area of these dreams) I was with a large group, I would see off the cliff next to a stick that was sticking up with a red banner on it. (Just as those who show the way in the desert in the game Ocarina of Time) I slid down, but no one helped me up, but I got myself up. there was a lady (with dark hair, but not the same woman as before) who said that I should slope down in the hill there. I said that I would break every bone in my body. she said what and I said then we would have to go to the hospital. On my way up I saw a red banner over the lake.(Maybe showing me another path here) The whole group was heading towards a cave, right by where I slid down. (It was more of the banners farther away, I drew a drawing. I landed at an airport. It was like the airport was high in the sky also, the gates floated, and it looked like a space station. Then suddenly I was down under the platforms (the gates). It was a football field. I think it was a local team playing. The arena was bigger than any football court I have seen, but there were no people in the stands, for there were no spectators, only big fat walls. I sat down in a staircase. the walls were blue, and of plastic, as were the stairs, just like you'd expect in a swimming hall. but the color of the stairs was gray. there were white lines under the blue. Some of my buddies walked towards me, so then I ran up the stairs, and was on top again. I was high in the sky all the time in these dreams. I dunno why. I also dreamt that I got my paycheck somewhere in those dreams. I wonder if the numbers are correct with what I actually get.
There's a party at my Grandparent's house, and I'm sat at a table with a few other girls out on the lawn, facing the ocean. One of the girls is getting married soon (shock and surprise, this dream sign did not shake me), and I tell her I have some advice for her as I got married recently (I didn't). I go looking in the house for my notebook (actually the one I was looking for looks just like my dream journal). I find my cousin in the kitchen, she's really drunk and irrate. I see that she's trying to make a small plate of nacho chips for the ladies, but for some reason she's put a dollop of whipped cream on the top. In her drunken state, she's accidently squished that dollop under her chin. The remnants of the whipped cream are still hanging there, off her chin. She's ranting about something, now she seems more upset and sad. I tell her she should slow her drinking down as we will be going all night, and she needs to pace herself. I go back to the table to impart my wisdom upon the girls and the dream ends.
