    1. A good night

      by , 01-30-2013 at 04:49 PM
I don't remember a lot about the dreams I had last night, but I remember the essence of them. I stayed home from work last night to study and went to bed a little early, so last night just seemed to be everything I needed it to be for the moment.

I went to bed around 11 pm and fell asleep within an hour (pretty quick for me). I woke up a few times during the night and each time I remembered parts of the dreams I was having.

Most of my dreams were about studying for my test, which is very helpful for today! This has happened in the past, even to the point where I'm reading my notes and they look exactly as they do in real life when I check after waking. When I woke up today I felt refreshed and, while reviewing before class this morning, have found that I know the material much more clearly today

Another dream that I remember is being sent to a building by my instructor for some sort of interview. It wasn't for a job, it was more for practice and information on the career I was heading for. When I got there, there were two middle aged women behind the counter in the Human Resource department (where I was suppose to go). They asked how they could help me and I told them I was sent for an interview by my instructor. This seemed to cheer them up somehow and they were suddenly eager to talk to me. They had worked in the career that I'm studying for and had enjoyed it. They were teaching in the building we were currently in (apparently it was a school). They asked what I liked/disliked about it and I told them the truth (I don't love it but don't hate it). I sometimes get confused if this is the right career choice for me. I told them that I don't really feel that I want to pursue a career in the field I'm currently studying, but that I want to continue my education to pursue a specific career that involves further study. They seemed excited about my choice and fully supported my decision. They gave me the impression that it would be a good choice for me. I was feeling really good and I knew it was about time to go. They started talking about other matters; one of the students kept parking in one of the teacher's parking spaces and it was becoming a problem. I thanked them for the interview and turned to leave.

When I woke up this morning, I looked at my alarm clock and the number was just turning to 1 minute before my alarm would go off. I smiled. My dreams seemed to give me everything I needed to help me with the day and then I awake just before my alarm goes off feeling rested and happy. I feel prepared for my test and I feel a little better about the career I'm studying for.

      It was a good night

    2. On the Back of the Sphinx

      by , 01-30-2013 at 04:22 PM
After trying and failing so much in the last several weeks, I finally made it to the Great Pyramid! I didn't complete the Task of the Year, but I had one fantastic lucid dream.

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

Lucid #59: On the Back of the Sphinx

I'm standing by a hedgerow on a suburban street, waiting for the hedges to part and let me in. Through these hedges is the party I'm supposed to attend. The hedges part for me, then close as I move toward them. "No problem," I say, covering up a sting of rejection. "I'll come back when you're ready for me."

I wander across the street to wait. I wonder whether I'm dreaming. I decide that I'll reality check "in a few minutes".
(You slacker!) No -- I don't need to reality check. This is a dream! I look at my hands. No distortion, waviness, extra fingers, or discoloration. Still, I'm sure that I'm dreaming.

The dream feels sharp, vivid, and stable. I feel like I have tons of time and potential. I sprint across the street, leap over the hedgerow, and with a shout I soar into the sky. I'm flying over a rain forest now and my skyrocketing confidence level makes me shout, "L-dopa!!!"
(Although I was displaying behavior in line with high dopamine levels, I've never taken L-dopa. Don't know what got into me.) After flying over the rain forest for a while, I wind up in a cloud bank and lose my bearings. Afraid of getting stuck here, I turn back toward the neighborhood, content to take a different direction.

I fly back out of the cloud bank, but a fierce gust of wind kicks up from the other direction and pushes me back toward the clouds. "Okay," I say. "You're taking me to the Pyramid." I relax as I pass back through the cloud bank, emerging over an ocean. I let the wind push me further on and soon I'm flying thousands of feet over a desert dotted with stones. It's dark, and the sand looks as gray as a moonscape. I descend headfirst toward the sand, sure that I'm going to find what I'm looking for.

It's nighttime when I land. I look to my right, and there's the Pyramid, illuminated by artificial light! I'm no more than twenty feet from it. The sphinx lies directly at the base of the Pyramid. I note that in the physical world she'd be further east toward Cairo, but the inconsistency doesn't bother me. Instead it reminds me even more strongly that this is my world.

The sphinx's stony skin is white like alabaster and she has Asian characters tattooed along all four legs and in a single stripe along each side of her body. She's far smaller than I'd expected, no more than thirty feet long. Her entire face has crumbled away (not just her nose.) I'm overcome with this urge to help her. Even setting aside Task of the Year, this is now something I badly want to do.

I press my palms against her face and say, "I'm going to fix you." I feel the stone first roiling then smoothing out against my hands. In a few seconds her face is repaired and her head starts to move. Her face looks mostly feline but there's still a vaguely humanoid quality to it. She licks my hand once and her tongue is the fleshy, rough tongue of a cat. Her head turns vaguely toward my face but her eyes are pupil-less, blank alabaster so I can't tell whether she's looking straight at me.

I swing my leg across her back and ask her to "Take me to the top of the Pyramid." She gets to her feet and starts walking around to the other side of the Pyramid. Her route takes us through a restaurant and bar where a number of women are dancing to this really amazing piece of world music. The melody is from some sort of brass instrument and it's backed by the mouth harp.
(I had to google to even figure out what this instrument is called -- here's a good example of the mouth harp in action. I think it was in my memory banks from a video game I played about 15 years ago.)

As I ride through the dance floor, the music and dancing begin to draw me in. One particularly stunning dancer, an ebony-skinned young woman of about 25, is driving me to distraction. I feel the sphinx slowing down and things start to feel unstable. I try to refocus on the task at hand, but the dream falls apart.
    3. 30th Jan 2013 Some sort of RTS, Robot Base Assault, Warcraft 3 Defense

by , 01-30-2013 at 04:22 PM (Scionox's Journal of Dreams)
Had major shift in sleeping schedule for this day due to some stuff happening IWL, didn't even had time to write DJ entry earlier on(i woke up like 12 hours ago), but still managed to keep it in memory, mostly fragments though.

      Dream 1:

I was playing some sort of military RTS, it had pretty realistic graphics. There was moment where i had to direct column of tanks and some other vehicles through net of roads and tunnels while trying to get in least amount of battles(it was probably some sort of transport column).

      Dream 2:

I was some sort of robot/mecha/cyborg. I was in some squad and we were assaulting the base of some other type of robots. We killed the commander but enemies kept respawning since our mission was to destroy some sort of antennae thingies and there was only one left. We had to retreat.

      Dream 3:

I was playing some custom map in Warcraft 3. It was some sort of defense map, it was maze-like and i think it was multiplayer. I was controlling some sort of demonesse and there were random enemies that were spawning from magic circles all over the map. I got defense set up on one of the corners of the map, near magic circle. Demonesse had ability to summon some sort of white wolves, place trees and ability to control mind on single enemy unit which required 10 seconds of concentration. I have made the mini-maze of trees for enemy units and had some unit with ranged attack captured with mind control ability which was attacking enemies in the mini-maze from the distance, also wolves were guarding the exit from mini-maze. Demonesse had some more abilities, but they were locked and the dream ended before that.

    4. My Wallet!

      by , 01-30-2013 at 03:43 PM
I had many dreams but I only remember the last one, me and two other anonymous people were on a road trip and we stopped by a fast food station. The overall theme of the restaurant was mostly white with like blue and brown cushions on the seats. Usually my dreams have extremely weird architecture so this dream was rare because it was a normal set up. We sat in one booth and we all left temporarily at the same time, probably to a bathroom? the dream was really fuzzy at this point. At that point I realize I left my wallet on the table. I feel like someone is stealing my money because we are in a fast food restaurant. I go back to the table and theres three guys with one guy "exchanging money" and theres less money but he says he was just trading my 20 for his change. In the dream somehow this is something thats technically ok to do for some reason. I start getting angry and ask for my wallet back, they throw it at me and I catch it but my hand hits a guy behind me. The guy behind me starts saying like wtf why did you do that, i said its cause these three retards threw it and I would have beat them up or called the police or something but that's when my dream ended.

    6. End of the World Dream

      by , 01-30-2013 at 03:27 PM
Not last night, but the night before, I had a dream that frightened the hell out of me. It was about the end of the world. Everyone was either in a state of panic or the complete opposite. It was pretty similar to the 21st December 2012 where people were skeptical about whether the world would end and what triggered these rumors. Anyway, I was with my Uncle in a strange place that I have never seen before. It was like old Fashioned Victorian Britain and covered in snow. The Uncle that I was with in the dream is part of what made the dream strange because in real life I haven't spoken to him for around seven years. We had a huge family dispute that will never ever be resolved. In the dream I said to my Uncle that I was scared of the world ending and scared of dying and hr told me not to worry because we won't feel a thing. He told me that when the world ends it will be when everything freezes over and that we will all die instantly. I put my trust in him. However, the next day I was out walking with my Uncle and some other people who I can't exactly remember. We could see people around us dropping dead and struggling with breathing. Then I fell weak and my Uncle caught me and gently lowered me to the ground. At this point I started dying and floated off (in spirit). I didn't realize I was dead because I could see everything as normal. I walked off to my Uncles shop where my Cousin and Uncle both were. At this point I heard them all talking about me saying that I needed to be moved as I had died on the street. I went outside and looked over the road and there I was, dying in my Uncles arms. (Wierd I know because he was now in the shop). I then went into the shop and my Cousin freaked out saying don't touch me Paige because I know its you and your dead. Then my Uncle noticed me touching him and breathing on him and he started answering my questions even though I wasn't able to communicate with him. I asked him if my spirit would stay around forever so that I could keep a watch over my family and see them and let them know i'm OK. He said no, and that my spirit will be gone in a few days when I have died fully, and then everyone will forget about me and I won't be able to see anyone again because I will just black out for eternity.
I woke up so frightened and screaming! This dream was so realistic and for me, its not made my thoughts about what happens after death any more clear or less scary!

    7. Little Kid Game Show, A Muddy Walk, and Pretzels

      by , 01-30-2013 at 02:56 PM
I only remember a few dream fragments. I think I woke up in the middle of the night and thought about writing down my dreams right away, but I was too lazy, so … oops.

      1. In one dream, I’m watching some kind of game show, and all the contestants are little kids. I can’t really remember anything else about this one.

      2. I’m staying in some large house, and some of my high school friends are there. I decide to go for a walk with one of my friends––Alison––but I need to find my rain boots first. I seem to have brought an enormous pile of shoes with me, and I have to search through them before I finally find the right boots. Then I go outside with Alison. It’s very gross and barren looking outside. The ground is muddy and covered with ice/snow in some places. There are only a few trees here and there, and they’re all completely bare. When Alison and I return to the house, I see that all of our other friends are reading the books I brought with me. I notice that Catherine is almost done with the book she’s reading even though we were only gone for like ten minutes (which is funny, because she does read extremely quickly in real life).

      3. I go to this food store place with some friends. We’re all planning on buying pretzels. There are these pretzel sticks and they all cost like 25¢ or something. So I grab a handful of pretzel sticks. And then there’s this tray with change all over it, and I grab a few coins. I wonder if I’m stealing the money or whether I’m allowed to do this … but I do it anyway.

I go up to the counter and put my pretzel sticks down. The cashier tells me that it will cost me $3.99. This surprises me since I thought it would be cheaper, but I don’t question it. I look in my wallet and I seem to only have quarters, so I start to pay the guy in quarters. It’s taking forever and I’m holding up the line, and the cashier is getting impatient with me and telling me to hurry up. Finally I find a $5 bill and put it down on the counter. But when I look up, I see that the original cashier is gone and now there’s this random girl where he was standing. And she’s like, “He got so impatient that he left” or something. So I’m like, “… Sorry,” and I buy the pretzels.

I go outside and sit down on the sidewalk with my friends. I believe Sarah Jayne, Cara, Megan, and Luna are there. We all start to eat our food. Sarah Jayne has these big vitamin things that she offers to everyone but we’re all like, “No.”

Somehow, we all end up sitting in this random tunnel. Megan is rolling around on the ground for some reason, and then Luna is asking her questions about her life and Megan has to answer them. I think Sarah Jayne is also asking some questions. And … I’m just sitting there. And that’s all I remember!
    8. Semi-Lucid for a little time

      by , 01-30-2013 at 12:40 PM
Managed to realise I was dreaming last night (ish). Momentarily realised I was dreaming, but didn't fully appreciate my dream-like state and take control. It is getting better as being in a teaching environment (one of my common dream themes) triggered lucidity.

The dream in full (as far as I remember): I'm telling a friend about lucid dreaming, suggesting I might be dreaming now, then suddenly I'm doing classroom observation in a school I realise I'm actually dreaming, which was soon forgotten though. I'm embarassed as my pants are down and when I pull them up I realise I'm in pjamas. I'm not impressed with the teacher (strict + a bit old school in her methods). I'm vague on the next bit but I know the last scene myself and Tony Soprano going back in time to rob someone that looked like Alec Baldwin. He wears a mask of fresh fish on his head for his work we notice this when he's on the phone (calling himself a "competent man in a mask") and as per my instructions Tony goes back in time with me to 1999 and puts on a similar mask to pose as him so he can rob his workplace, then I wake up.
    9. January 30, 2013 - Teacher Doppelgangers, Elevators Arriving at Restrooms, and Restaurant-Going

      by , 01-30-2013 at 12:38 PM
(It's been one month since I published an entry. I know, I should remember to do this more often...)

Anyways, I could only remember some details from last night, and I don't know if they were part of the same dream or not. Well, here I go...

The first part I could remember was that I was in a hotel. The lobby was about two stories high, and I walked out the back doors into a small outdoors area. The area was fenced, and from what I knew, there was some sort of Dubstep concert going on beyond the fenced area that only people 18+ could attend. (I believe that you had to be 18+ just to walk in the fenced area...) However, the only person in the area was someone who looked exactly like my band director. I knew that it was not exactly my band director (considering that I saw her inside the hotel), but the look-alike only looked at me and looked away. After that I decided to head inside.

Later, I decided to head back to my room on the tenth floor of the hotel. This time, I decide to take a different elevator. In this elevator, all of the buttons are near the top of the elevator. I somehow reach to press the button to take me to the tenth floor, but when the elevator stops, I arrive at the eleventh floor! I correct the elevator's mistake by pressing the button to take me to the tenth floor. While going down, I somehow float to the top of the elevator. (Was the elevator going ultra-fast? Could there be lots of space between floors 10 and 11?) When it got to the tenth floor, I hit the floor, almost hurting my crotch in the process.

When the elevator opened, I arrived at something strange - a restroom with both men and women in it. The people inside paid no attention to me, but as I walked out, I noticed the restroom was labeled as a restroom for both men and women.

Finally, later in the dream, I go to some form of restaurant. The person seating the people decides to seat me with another family. I realize I forgot my phone, but my mom managed to come. I started to play on my 3DS, but as my mom told me to turned it down, I slid the slide down to the bottom. However, when it reached the bottom, it still played sound! (Gah, dream sign...) Eventually, I pressed down hard on the slide, and the sound finally turned off.

    10. 3 interesting dreams ( 2 failed lucids, 1 weak lucid )

      by , 01-30-2013 at 12:26 PM
Hi, today i slept 3 hours more than i should. i suspect this have a role here, my brain may have awakened a bit, just like wtbt or cat tecnhique may work.

well, i had 2 failed LD's --> i realized i was dreaming but the dream quickly faded, my DEILD attempt failed too. first i was flying with a board, second i watched my hands after feeling unusual sadness.

in my last failed LD, after i woke up i attempted to move my dream body which i could but it would return like a spring, so i strained too much and actually moved my body

after like 11 hours of sleep ( very unusual for me ) i find myself playing pool and lucid. i dont know how i got here and got lucid, my feeling is that it was a vivid visualization or a weak lucid. i was playing pool and somehow the table quality was not quite that good, and balls were somewhat smaller. well, i headed for the door, and i found another table as i wanted. i was amazed, impressed with the vividness of it, and my control.

i was so confident that i attempted a teleportation to moon ( without knowing the tecnhique ): i closed my dream eyes and i visualized moon surface but i couldnt get out of blackness, so i woke up 4 good

-Had the feeling the dream gave me false memories.
-Went upstairs (In a house I do not recognize)
-Went through the bathroom door, just a regular shower.
-I was at a Husky gas station with Alex and someone else. (Nathan?)
-Was back in the house. Saw Colleen from Husky. She told me the bathroom wasn't on the right transport mode and when I went through the door, the wrong portal was active. I was to take my laptop outside the door and hold "backspace". I did, and a green (yellow?) light turned on.
-Going back down the stairs, saw through the walls, and saw Alex. He was singing the anthem, and in the middle, made a hilarious face and mouthed the word "Father" like an inside joke. (This was the false memory)
-(Thought of Collin's classical guitar, thinking it was Nathan's) Trying to play it, it's horrible. Alex then said that was funny I mentioned it, because an old guitar teacher walked in, took one look at the guitar, and said "Huh. No kidding!"
-I couldn't stop laughing about it.

      -Woke up here.

    12. Tagline for a Metier; A Colorful Death

      by , 01-30-2013 at 10:27 AM (* The Sandman's Dream Journal o/***)
      Tagline for a Metier

I was standing at medium sized red pick-up truck. It sat up high with a lift kit, it had roll bars, and the engine was in the bed. I read on some part of the engine where the owner had affixed some kind of sticker or embossed right on the engine block this tagline: "Unfortunately, nothing NO2 occurs before a gas line."

I had a hard time reading it, but when I did, it was in plain English.

      A Colorful Death

Some guy was seemingly just going about a typical day, but something happened. I don't really remember the circumstances. What I do remember is that it was like the Nightmare on Elm Street III in 3D. The guy was dreaming, he died in his dream, and so he died in real life.

He died in his dream, which may have been more symbolic--that is, it may have simply been that he died in his dream story, but as I watched him in his own dream, I never saw him die.

After I watched him in his dream sequence, my view turned to his actual bed. It was pristine white and didn't have any covers. There may have been a top white sheet pushed towards the foot of the bed. Then a head appeared and rolled just a bit. His dream death equated to a decapitation in real life, but without a body.

The white bed was like a canvas, and a rainbow of color appeared on the bed. It was a rather striking contrast to the head.
    13. A few lucids, an actual post

by , 01-30-2013 at 08:59 AM (Alone With my Mind)
      NON-DREAM NON-LUCID LUCID

      Picnic Time
I am sitting with a few friends on a cloth, and we discuss all these great things about school, life, and when I'm coming back to San Diego. A fire flares up in front of me, nearly burning me, but since I wasn't hurt, I figured that I was in a dream. Sweet. It's been a long time since I got a lucid I thought, so I immediately said good bye to everyone and jumped up into the air. I tried to yell a command, but something choked at my voice, and soon I felt like I couldn't breathe. I fell from where I hovered and faded away to blackness. I enter paralysis and try to shimmy my way back into the same dream. I 'wake up', in the cabin again, somewhat dazed, and find myself walking outside, only to see the fire once again. Bam, I try again. This time I could speak so I spun and attempted to command the dreamscape into something new. Nothing. Whatever, I flew up again and noticed a forest beyond the picnic area.

I dashed close to it by a mountain, and shouted with will in my voice:

      "Pyromania!"

Absolutely nothing. I give up. Why is the only thing I can do in a lucid is fly?
I wake up shortly afterwards and grumble 4 letter words, hoping for the best next time.

      Naked dreams aren't always fun
      Underlined is me
"So you're back in SD, it seems?"
"Yeah, looks like it. Not sure if I'm happy about it or not."
"Uh, that shouldn't be your main issue."
      "Why?"
"Your ass and then some is showing."

No time for goodbyes, I cover my groin to the best of my ability with my hand and steal a backpack for my rear. I decide to ignore my bare ass and switch the backpack to the front while I sprint over to the nearest bathroom. I pull a friend in as nonchalantly as I can (hard to do when I'm naked), and ask him if he has he PE clothes or something. He hands me a glove, what in the fuck am I supposed to do with that? I hurry into a stall and think. I snap both my fingers in worry, thankgully the noise jerks my mental wakefulness, and I find myself lucid. The dream is stable, and I use telekinesis to break down one of the stalls and get myself a set of clothing. Two people fighting break in, however, and knock me down to the floor. I got hit hard enough to wake up from the dream.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I had a pet tiger that slept in bed with us.

The tiger was able to reply to math questions. He would roar or play dead to reply the questions.

While I was petting the tiger, I talked with my wife about dreams.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I was in my wife's medical class. She was not there and I wondered where she was at, since she could not miss class.

The teacher was sitting on the back on the class and all the students were giving their backs to the teacher. I found that to be very weird.

The class looked like when I went to highschool and I had some friends by that time as well.

There were a couple of screens with a guy juggling popcorn moving their feet very fast.
