    1. City Trip and Dead Snake

      by , 05-21-2011 at 12:10 PM
I am on a bus with lots of familiar people..maybe people I went to school with. We are on a trip to the city. We get off the bus and I think I am with two girls. We decide we need to get a hotel room and we can all split the cost.

      ...

I am in my old room on I17, the pink room. I go into the closest and see a terrarium. There's a dead snake inside. Its also filled with water. The water is all foggy and the snake is decomposing and it is absolutely disgusting. I move it out into the middle of the room and cover it up and hope someone will take care of it for me. Bleehh its still gross to think about!

    2. My WBTB Lucid Dreaming Techniques & Tip For Re-Entering A Collapsed Lucid Dream

      by , 05-21-2011 at 09:09 AM
I initially wanted to call this a technique for re-entering a collapsed lucid dream, but it really is not a technique, just a piece of advice that has always worked for me 100% to re-enter a dream that collapsed on me before I could re-stabilize it. But first, a little about what I do to lucid dream in the first place.

Now, my technique for lucid dreaming in general is WBTB, I can WILD pretty often or DILD 100% of the time without any type of problem when I WBTB. When going to sleep at night, I don't even bother to attempt lucidity because my mind and body are too tired to be as aware as I need to be to become lucid.

Dreaming in general uses energy, but being lucid in a dream uses even more, and if you don't have enough because you had a long day, you won't realize you are dreaming and will simply accept whatever comes up. Spending a good hour (minimum) awake after sleeping initially, allows me to enter a dream and immediately know I'm dreaming because my body and mind are rested enough to be completely aware, but can still rest longer. I spent a while figuring this out. I would lay in bed after waking for 10 minutes then sleep, and I would dream, but would not recognize that I was dreaming, no matter how bizarre things were in the dream. If I was awake for 30 minutes either lying in bed or after getting up, I might become lucid but my chances were less. Over the course of 3 or 4 weeks, I found that the following allowed me to lucid dream every single time:

I sleep for 6 hours (4 x 90 minutes), get out of bed, get dressed, and engage my mind for 1 - 3 hours (usually 1 1/2), writing down my lucid dream experiments and goals for the upcoming session, and then I head back to bed. I lay on my back, with my limbs spread out so that I'm just completely comfortable and then I contract every single muscle I can for as long as I can hold them contracted, then release and do not move them afterwards. After 10 minutes or so, I can no longer feel my body, and my only focus is my goals for the lucid dream, and my breathing. After another 5 - 10 minutes I start to see swirling colors and images, and within another 10 minutes, sleep paralysis/sleep itself and I enter a dream. Within seconds I know that I'm dreaming and I stabilize the dream by doing the following:

      1. Spinning. I always spin to my left and when I'm done spinning everything around me is very vivid and crystal clear, no haziness. After that I...

      2. Engage my senses by touching and feeling objects, I lick some objects to bring the sense of taste into full force, I smell the air, listen to the sounds and try to determine what they are and the direction they are coming from, and I scan the area looking at as much detail as I can.

NOW FOR THE ACTUAL TIP FOR RE-ENTERING A COLLAPSED LUCID DREAM

After I have spent a short while doing these things, I am free to do whatever for good lengths of time. But once a dream starts to collapse on me, and I am not quick enough to re-stabilize it via spinning, I just let it collapse, and have found a way to re-enter dreaming and becoming lucid again within just a few minutes:

When a lucid dream collapses on you, DO NOT OPEN YOUR EYES, and DO NOT MOVE A MUSCLE. The only thing you should even think about doing, is breathing. If you stay completely still without opening your eyes, within minutes (1 - 5) you should (for me it's "will") start dreaming again, and should be able to become lucid in seconds. The scene itself may be different, but once you have stabilized the new dream, just express your intent to return to your previous dream and it will happen.

100% of the times I have done this, I was dreaming again shortly, so in the span of an hour and a half two days ago I had 10 lucid dreams one after the other until I decided it was time for me to get up and get on with the day. This is now very frequent and I've felt empowered to be able to attain lucidity with such ease, and to immediately go back into those dreams I thought for sure I wouldn't be able to go back to later on.

I encourage everyone to try this for re-entering dreams that suddenly collapsed on them and let me know how it goes.

    3. The Chaos of the Mind OR Lady in White

      by , 05-21-2011 at 09:01 AM
Since the relinquishment of my power the world that was my mind seemed to begin to form. It was birthed (of course all metaphorically speaking) in a chaotic manner (not metaphorically speaking). From this new beginning I could only describe the state of my mind as chaos. Feeling of dread came over me whenever I decided to go to bed. From there were feelings of needles and pins, the very boundaries of left and right side of the brain warring in order to gain form and void. (Metaphorically speaking) The very forces at work would not stop at my pleas and agony. Trying to take form the right side while the left only wanted it to morph, such a feeling only could come perhaps when I was sick (when the true nightmares came around) but even then the feeling grew worse and worse.

I believe it all stopped when I slept one day to be confronted with a sound at the porch and a rapping at the door. Opening the blinds I spied a Woman in White, whose feet didn't even touch the ground. She pointed at the door as if it had significance. I decided to answer the door and attempt to talk to this supposed "apparition". To see what she wanted, when I opened the door to speak to the woman the area around me blurred and she vanished from my sight. Ironically I was found in the floor of the kitchen that was in fact where I confronted the dream creature. Most likely I was sleep walking but I always wonder about my strange experiences.

    4. The House

by , 05-21-2011 at 07:27 AM (Insights from Id)
My husband and I find an ad for a nice house for a good price, so we decide to go see it. When we arrive, the lot of land is enormous, and the yard has a swing set. A small private road leads up to the garage. As we are shown around, we see that the house is incredibly spacious, with five bedrooms and three bathrooms. each room is very large. Both living rooms (there are two) are large enough to fit my entire current house in them. The smallest bedroom is bigger than my current living room. The kitchen has enough space for a second stove and fridge, but even with them would still have room for an island. In one bathroom, the shower alone is as big as my entire current bathroom, not to mention a tub in a separate area. The more we saw, the more we liked it. As wonderful as the house was, I couldn't seem to shake this nagging feeling in the back of my mind. I ignored the feeling as I opened a door to a small storage room. A tarp covering a pile of blankets inside began to move as if there was something underneath. I instantly sensed something was wrong. My heart pounding, I reached out and lifted the pile to find nothing there. Freaked out a bit, I quickly closed the door to the room. I found my husband and tugged his sleeve. "I don't know about this place, honey."
"What are you talking about, this place is great." We proceeded out the back to get a closer look at the swing set. I glanced in the bay window and some movement caught my eye. I noticed the clock on the wall, and the arms were spinning at an alarming rate. A chill went down my spine. I was suddenly aware of an unearthly presence, and the area around me suddenly got chilly. I rubbed my arms, and looked inside again. The clock hands were spinning even faster, and they suddenly stopped at 12:00. I glanced at my watch and saw that it was 2:15.
Out of nowhere, I heard a piercing, inhuman scream in the distance.
    5. The Meeting

by , 05-21-2011 at 07:04 AM (The Lab Notebook)
Non-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

I'm in a long, rectangular yard with a lawn, behind a building. I find myself flying backward over the grass. Recognizing the familiar dream occurrence, I mentally grab hold of the situation and wrench my movement into my conscious control. First, I start to fly forward, and then I just land and start walking across the grass toward the building, just because I'll have better and more reliable control that way. As I walk, I say something along the lines of, “If it gets me there faster, I'll just walk.”

Inside the building, I walk through several rooms until I find one that contains a table and a bunch of people.
[I think they were people I know in real life, but I'm not sure who.] We all sit down around the round table and have a meeting. [I don't remember now what we talked about, but we were all talking about something.] During the meeting, I focus on staying in the present moment, paying attention to it, because I want the dream to go on for as long as possible. It works, for a bit, but then I start thinking, I wonder how much REM time I have left? I don't want to wake up. Of course, the dream starts to collapse and I find myself waking up shortly after thinking about that.

      ---------------------
      Side notes:

I achieved this MILD by focusing intently on my feelings of intention and desire to have a lucid dream, mostly without thinking in words, and for a sustained period of several minutes. When I did think in words, they were, Lucid dreaming is easy. Everyone can do it, even me. I had this dream after several nights in a row without any dream recall at all, which made those feelings of intention and desire particularly intense and easy to focus on.
    6. Another madness driving nightmare

      Another madness driving nightmare (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I was driving and it was night, very late actually. There were several accidents all around me. I saw big and small cars in the middle of the road and on the side of the road, some of them pretty damaged.

I saw a red van flipping next to me, but it never hit me. I was driving trying to avoid the madness, I almost hit a few cars, but avoided all of them.

I saw more damaged vehicles a few miles and a few more incidents as well. Some of these cars were totaled, but I saw no ambulances. I managed to finally get off of the freeway. I saw some crashed cars on the road, but the traffic was fine. I managed to finally park, my car was not damaged.

OK. I am getting tired of these dreams. I never had an accident in my whole life, not even a ticket... I neither saw an accident life on the road while I am driving. This is the 4th similar dream I have. I am very intuitive and I have a lot of premonitions. This must mean something. Fortunately, I always get away from the accidents without becoming part of one, but always near misses.

So, it is time for me to induce a lucid dream in this scenario and find out what my Third Eye is trying to say!
    7. forgot your shoes ay?

      by , 05-21-2011 at 03:53 AM
Possibly a precongnictive dream last night.

I can only really remember fragments, I had lost my x-trainer shoes, or maybe they were stolen. I was walking along a path with only my socks on I was worried my socks were going to get really dirty. I remember thinking that I don’t want to spend money on a new pair of shoes. I see a flash image, of my other running shoes. And I think I can wear them.

As it turns out I packed my gym bag this morning and forgot to pack my shoes.. arg! And don’t even have enough money on me to buy a new pair. Damn it! Another reason to improve my dream recall.

    8. The Beginning

      by , 05-21-2011 at 03:29 AM
(Not in the dream world just yet, I wasn't lucid.) One day I had horrible nightmares that caused me to feel like I was having pains in my head. I was really young and childish and I couldn't take the nightmares anymore. One night I prayed to God for him to help me with my dreams and that he would help me to confront them.

(In dream) For an entire week I had power. I was lucid, able to control the moon, the sun, the sky and the earth. For days I looked up at the sky and moved the sun and moon to my whim. But on the seventh night (in the real world) I found myself unable to find purpose in controlling it all. I finally found myself sighing and looking up at the sky and saying let it go.

Of course being young I didn't know what I could do with dream control. That is until now which makes me regret it because now my dreams seem to go against me. Though obviously not literally but It feels like it.

I awaken in my bed, i am unaware that im dreaming because i had been struggling to get back to sleep after really waking up at 2:45. i leave my bedroom and go downstairs to get a glass of water, then sit down to watch TV, i turn it on and a bizarre scene plays out, i see two guys standing side by side, in front of a mirror that seems to be acting like water. the guys are talking about whats on the other side, then suddenly one of them gets pulled through and trapped on the other side, the other guy runs to get help, then i awaken in my bed, completely confused

      Dream Journal #18, May 20th, 2011.

First and only vivid dream I remember is playing some weird game on 2 giant blown up jumpers. Like these jumpers were HUGE. lol. Actually before that, me ralph and paolo were playing poker on a jumper as well I think.. and paolo kept saying “Dang justin stop trippin out!” because I was high or something, not sure. Felt more like sleepy lol. After poker, it was like 2v2 dodgeball kind of, on these two giant jumpers. I’m not sure how the game worked lol. Then Mr.Ma kicked us out because it wasn’t lunch and we couldnt play on the jumpers (had to go on basketball court). When we got off, everybody who was playing dodgeball had a dog for some reason… and they were all aggressive af. Not aggressive aggressive, but like they always nipped on you and they were all slobbery and eww. So I washed up and went home. Then my dad offered to take me driving before we went to adys birthday. So we had to walk like a few distance to our car because he said he had to pump it? Idk. Then my alarm woke me up.

      After WBTB:

I became lucid, but it was really short I blame it on myself mostly.

It starts out with me pushing a shopping cart in a parking lot. I found the whole experience to just be really weird and unordinary. I stopped, asked myself, …wait, am I dreaming? How did I get here? I then became lucid. I froze and took in my surroundings a bit, just to clear up the dream. But I got distracted by a really hot lady. I walked over and grabbed her and slowly started to make out with her because I couldn’t just let her pass by without doing anything. This was my big mistake lol. The dream faded right before my eyes before I could even think about stabilizing the dream. I found myself awoken in my bed, apathetic, and I tried to DEILD back. It didn’t really work… I think. That, or I just fell asleep.

Also something to consider… my alarm woke me up in the middle of a very vivid dream. Most likely REM. So maybe my REM cycle had something to do with it, because I knew that the dream I was having before I woke up was already pretty long (at least in dream sense). Maybe the REM cycle just ended and I went back into stage 2.

Either way, I’m kind of disappointed. Happy I got lucid, but disappointed it didn’t last long

    13. Finding my DG Round 1: FAIL

by , 05-20-2011 at 11:05 PM (quorthonafull's tornado of dreams)
After a couple of days of crappy recall, I had a LD today:

I'm chatting with some friends via Skype, planning on play some online game. One of them called me via phone and said something I couldn't understand (except a part like "We won't play anithing today"). So I go to the living room to read some DJs in the laptop. A guy called Lou has a very detailed and long entry, so I keep reading. I scroll down and there's something like this:

Oh, It's true! A voice says "remember to stabilize, remember to stabilize". This time, I Did the nose plug RC and stabilized the dream before hearing that voice, but It's great to have someone to tell me what to do if I forget the essential first steps (maybe he/she is my guide and doesn't want to reveal itself yet). Anyway, let's go on. I decide to look for my DG. I shout " I wanna go where my DG is". All becomes black.

I'm in a dark, labyrinth-like village. A tiny black guy asks me to follow him. He takes me to my dad's room. My dad says to me something about the canoes, and He is quite annoying , so I leave the room. I ask to myself "I'm not lucid, Am I? I went to the street and did some RCs (nose plug and and the other with the mouth). It is pretty funny, so I keep doing It a while. I'm going back home, when all starts vanishing...
