13th July 2021 Fragment: In space, Freelancer setting. I'm in a beautiful looking system, but fairly simple and generic. One white star? An ice asteroid field in the distance which I think I'm approaching. I'm with someone else, who's in a different ship, maybe T? Or an NPC like Juni. We're sneaking or getting away from something and we're taking unmapped/unknown travel routes, the type pirates and bounty hunters and freelancers use. This dream might have been from when my alarm went off, I don't remember resetting it. Fragment: Some interactions with other people. There's a context of survival and maybe one of servitude too (slavery? maybe not though). Most of this dream takes place in an indoors setting and it's daytime outside. There's an overcast characteristic to lighting. I recall some bit where I'm helping someone, they pass me a long-ish cardboard box which doesn't look so strong. As I take hold of it, it's bottom half sort of drops off from the upper lid section. A glass or metal thing drops out, it sounds like glass smashing. It's an electron valve or something? But I don't remember looking. The person that was passing me the box, a lady, gets upset with me, but we quickly get over it and we do something else. (recall gap?) Now I'm on Minecraft. I've just spawned in a new world. It's an unusual ravine locale. I am near and sort of under a 5x5 pillar and then I look around and up. The pillar goes up, a hundred or so blocks, as do other similar ones in the ravine area. Over this pillar is a railroad track laid on top of oak planks going from one side of the chasm to the other. The natural stone pillar has decorative stone bricks at the corners in a semi-random fashion and the other pillars are similar. The chasm or ravine is longer than it is wide but seems to mostly be rectangular. I don't recall noticing any ore at all. For some reason, I just fly up and look around. On the rail track, minecarts are going around. They have loot chests on them and I quickly inspect contents as they go past. They seem reasonably OK. I think there's another track that runs carts in the opposite direction, just nearby. To either end of the chasm, in terms of longitude, there are these sort of old West mineshaft entrances, which half look like a barn or house. They are built into the natural rock walls. My dream knowledge of the area makes it feel like a classic DOOM map, like actually behind the stone walls there's nothing, as if they are just set dressing. I go into one of these mine entrances and it has more loot chests which I inspect. I hear zombies nearby, but ignore them. Then I feel like I hear our doorbell but I start going into a dark stairwell made with oak plank stair blocks. On some level I start to question the reality of this and wake up and ask H if the doorbell had really rang, but no. Notes: - The Freelancer dream was nice even if a lot of recall went. I always enjoy those dreams because of the way space always looks more realistic than the game did but it still looks more fantastic than space would actually look like anyway. The system was a bit like some Sigma or Tau systems but "felt" closer to core systems. -- The dream plot was a generic story/campaign plot, as far as I can recall. I don't recall what my ship was like. - I think I haven't had lucid thoughts very much until that dream where the doorbell noise manifested. Notably, the dream entry that follows for the 15th also had a lucidity cue. - I would like to think about the symbolism of situation surrounding the smashing object in the second fragment but a bit too tired to think about it, hopefully come back to it at some point.
I made a video game! Again! This game was the third entry in a shooter game series. The first two weren't made by me, but a third was in development and became vaporware. So I decided to make it from scratch, sort of unofficially. It was the first game in the series to be in 3D. Interestingly, everything was made out of cardboard. The maps were outside areas, but they were inside a cardboard box with a skybox painted on it. The floor was painted green and the skybox various shades of blue and white. The weapons and enemies, the houses and the trees, everything was painted cardboard cutouts. And it was like a video game, but at the same time, the player is physically next to the box, as if he controls the character like a puppet. I let my friend play the game. The first few maps were simple. He was having fun shooting up enemies in the destructible cardboard terrain. But then there was the third map, which was very peculiar. It seemed to be a completely empty area without an exit at all. I giggled as my friend was stumped, looking around and trying to figure this out. Eventually he found out the solution to the puzzle. He put his hand inside the play area, poked a hole in the floor, and tore it to shreds. The exit was located under the ground. I laughed my ass off and clapped my hands because he found it.
Sorry I've been inactive the last couple weeks, I've been super busy with school so the stress of it has made my dream recall poor, and my lucidity even worse. However, I managed to recall a bit of a dream I had last night... I remember being in a two story building, almost like a warehouse, with very high ceilings, large windows used for the walls, and you could see the outlining infrastructure of the building. This was were my work was (while IRL my work is a small business in a one story building), my boss was getting upset with me because there was an overflow of cardboard boxes, and I guess it was solely my job to clean them up. He kept getting pissed that I wasn't working hard or fast enough and even threatened to fire me if I didn't work faster. (Luckily, IRL my boss is nowhere near that demanding or rude). What's funny is that this morning I had a rehearsal for a gig in a church that looked a lot like my work in the dream. This church is modern so it had high ceilings, large windows acting as the walls, and exposed infrastructure. And later today, while I was at work, I realized there was a lot of cardboard needing to be taken out.
I'm at my cousin house, her daughter son husband and some of her friends are over. We are all sitting on two couches, and I guess we are all watching a football game. My Uncle builds this thing out of collector soccer boxes from Jack in the box or some shit. He just collected them because he must be better then everybody even at stupid shit like collecting puzzle like soccer boxes. You can put them together into different shapes. My uncle passes it around so he can feel pride that everyone is looking at it, but my cousins husband takes it and kicks it like a soccer ball, so them we all start to kick it back and forth and my uncle tries to get it back but we destroy it, but who cares it's cardboard from jack in the box. Then my uncle storms out of the room and we all continue to watch football.
I was in a car with a non-specific girl in the passenger seat. It was evening out and we were just talking, making small chat. I think at one point I asked her out and we made out for a little bit, but then for some reason we decided get out and walk around. We got out of the car and walked to what looked like the back loading dock of a department store. I found a cut in half cardboard box with a bunch of crushed up nacho cheese doritos in it. I was stoked and started munching them down, but the girl I was with was less than ecstatic haha. The scene suddenly changed and the both of us were in broad daylight, walking into a grocery store. This is where I started to go lucid. I still had the box of dorito bits in my hand, and I thought to myself: "this is stupid... Why don't I just spawn a myself fresh bag?" Who wants to eat loading dock doritos anyway? Haha! So, I focused hard and a new bag of nacho cheese doritos started to materialize into my hand. Unfortunately, as soon as the chips were fully manifested, I lost control and I felt my dream self crashing back into my body and jolting me awake, much like in my last lucid dream.
I dreamed I was somewhere in India, and was preparing myself for a long journey around the country. I began to walk the path ... there was some obstacles involved, some natural and others not. I was jumping a yellow wall between two gardens of a poor Indian neighborhood, and when I landed on the other side a bag with food, water and some other belongings was ripped, dropping food and other goods. Suddenly a typically Indian-looking kid (dark skin) appeared, he had a dirty white shirt, and helped me get the things that had fallen from the bag. He built a cardboard box, and he put it all the food in that box and gave it to me ... I started thinking about the difficulty that I would go to cross the country with a box and not a backpack.
#1: We were robbing the moon and putting it in a carboard box. #2: I attempted to WILD, but I got caught out and lost awareness upon entry.
