    1. Hilarious Intruders

      Morning of April 6, 2018. Friday.



      This morning, I had a very long series of dream sequences, where nearly everywhere I have lived in my life thus far appeared in one form or another, including several fictional distortions. As usual, each setting was a unique new version. (Out of tens of thousands of dreams studied for over fifty years, no setting has ever appeared more than once in the same way, typically being unique combinations of two or more locations.)

      As the sequences were so long and convoluted, I will only focus on certain sections in this entry. (Otherwise it would be far too long, and my entries are often very long as it is.)

      The house setting throughout my main dream seems to be a combination of Cubitis (where I have not lived since 1978), the Loomis Street house (where I have not lived since 1994), the King Street mansion (where I lived at different times up until 1993), and the house Zsuzsanna and I and our family presently live; all this and some fictional alterations as is always the case. Additionally, the house setting does not match the location in some scenes and ambiguously varies between Florida, Wisconsin, and Queensland, Australia (which is also typical).

      In one scene, the setting seems most like the Cubitis house even though it is implied to be our present address in Australia. Our youngest son is crying and is angry about some sort of robotic toys that are not responding to being shot in the way that had been programmed. I am aware that he had left them at the south end of the Cubitis hall (while the room to our right is like the lounge room of our present home). I tell him that it does not matter, that they are “just toys” and that toys cannot really be heroes. I hold him close and we hug and he says that I am his hero.

      In a later scene, I go outside and it mostly seems like the Cubitis backyard. An unfamiliar young girl is present and sitting in high grass with our youngest daughter and youngest son. Looking back at the back of the house, the rendering is incorrect (though my dream self does not regard it as wrong). The area external to where the kitchenette would have been is now implied to be a back porch that I am aware is out from my mother’s room (though as from the Loomis Street house). (The back porch was actually at the south end of the Cubitis house facing the south side yard and the north end our neighbor’s house, though their back porch faced east into their backyard.)

      There are at least three unfamiliar people seated on the portico (at least two males and a female), near the window to my mother’s room. (The portico is an unfamiliar fictitious feature.) It takes me some time to realize they are trespassing. Finally, even though they might be our neighbors, I decide to yell at them and tell them they should not be here. “The little woman said we could sit here,” one of males says. I consider that they are trying to imply my mother told them they could sit by her window, which I know is something she would never have said.

      I again tell them to leave. They become annoyed and start acting very strangely, and wander quickly about as if they are unsure where they are going. Soon, there are two unfamiliar male police officers present. The unwelcome people go into the house next door. Soon after this, water starts spraying out from the eaves. This causes the police officers to start laughing. The water continues to spray from the house as if it is meant to be an attack, yet has the opposite effect. As the water sprays on me for a time (as well as the officers), I feel more relaxed and cheerful than I had been minutes before.



      Water in my dreams has been a form of dream state induction for over fifty years in representing the essence of sleep, the absence of emotion and waking life focus (as in sensory deprivation tank experiments), and resulting in physical relaxation. Some “interpreters” claim that water “represents emotions” (which might be related to crying, I suspect, though crying is the release of emotions, not the maintaining or augmenting of them). Which emotions? In what way? To what extent? Aside from that, virtually countless commercial recordings use the sound of water, from the roaring ocean, waterfalls, rivers, and so on, to induce sleep or relaxation. Negative dreams relating to water, such as tidal waves or floods are more likely to be a RAS factor that tries to induce sleep when other factors, such as circadian rhythms dynamics, are in conflict. After all, a person is asleep when they are dreaming, not extant in waking life, yet most people do not seem to understand this at all. In some cases, a flood or tidal wave may relate to subliminal concern about being too deeply asleep, which may trigger waking from the emergent conscious side rather than raw RAS. The supposed evidence, more so of the Barnum effect, associated with “water representing emotions” is actually the opposite. If a person is overly emotional in real life, the water might be rendered to calm them down and enter more deeply into the essence of sleep, and some people fear deeper sleep or even relaxation. Drowning on the other hand, would usually relate to incidental sleep apnea or snoring (and one can dream and snore at the same time despite popular myth), which is a biological factor of sleep, not waking life (though many people seem to have zero understanding of the biological and neurological factors of the dream state). Ultimately, when water splashes on me in my dreams, it vivifies my dream and sustains it, causing physical release and relaxation, the opposite of increasing emotions or as a WAF (waking alert factor). Water also represents healing and biological purification (after all, a large percentage of the human body is water - and water is life), but more so as the autosymbolic analogy to the healing nature of sleep and the absence of negative emotions, thus a tidal wave or flood might indicate a sudden increase in glymphatic system function.

    2. Mundane and Canine

      1. I went into a basement level shop to check on the alteration of a bra/corset. It was metallic grey. The shop couldn’t find it.

      2. My dog was recovering from a surgery of some kind, (injury on one of her hips/hind legs?) and I decided to stay with Jane, a woman who used to work at the dog training facility we attended. In my dream I only lived a block or so away from Jane, and it was total dream logic as to why I needed to stay at her place. I remember her asking me, and I told her that I knew she was trained in case something happened while my dog was recovering. She seemed to disagree that she was qualified, but I justified it in my mind. Later though, I remember thinking I should gather up my things and go home so I started to do that. Just then, some people came to Jane’s front door- a group of meshy-looking adults that seemed to want to sing for us. They had 2 dogs and I held my dog back and said she wasn’t good with other dogs (partial lie). They came inside anyway, and stood around us and seemed intimidating. It was a mixture of men and women, specifically I only remember the pockmarked face of a man with a mustache. I decided to continue gathering my things and bolt. I had an old long blue car, maybe something like circa 1970s. It barely ran, and some people in the group made fun of me as I drove off. I said, ‘This isn’t my only car!’ The way in which I was driving was more like me on a toy car (sitting on top of a small car) which is common in my dreams.

      3. Ordering dog food online. This felt like a longish session of me being unable to make a decision on what type and size food to order. ???



      Thoughts: I went to bed after a full day of work and exercise. I took a melatonin because my mind wasn't feeling very tired. I read for a while and then slept like a dead person until @3am, when I woke up and remembered just a small portion of the corset dream. Read for about an hour and a half, tossed and turned until I fell back asleep. Thoughts more active than usual, had trouble quieting my mind, and visualization did not come easily. I'm not sure what these dreams mean if they mean anything. My dog has an upcoming vet visit for a vaccination. She was a little sick the other day but otherwise very healthy and happy.
    3. Several Intruders

      My family and I are presently living where we are in real life, on W Street. I seem to be the only one home at first, though I eventually notice my two youngest sons playing with toy cars on the living room floor in the last segment of my dream. The house in-dream is larger than it is in reality. It seems to be nighttime throughout most of my dream.

      I eventually hear someone talking to me very loudly and clearly through the fully closed and locked back door. Thus, as there is obviously a trespasser in our backyard I become very annoyed. At first he seems to be demanding some small change but then seems to be requesting a wine bottle or two (we have no alcohol in reality). I decide to go and tell him off and possibly knock him unconscious with one of my long steel barbells. When I open the back door (while holding a barbell), I see that he is apparently a homeless person with a long beard and perhaps around forty years old. There is also a younger man (of about thirty) farther out and on the east side of the yard to my left. He is seemingly my (unfamiliar) next-door neighbor who seems annoyed by the drunk but also annoyed with me even though he is also trespassing in my yard - as there is a tall wooden fence between the properties that cannot easily be climbed over. I have a brief dream within a dream (though not very clear) of throwing them both over the fence. I close the door and go back into my house, but there are eventually somehow a few other unknown males roaming around in the rooms. I become angrier at this additional set of impositions.

      At one point, two unknown females (about eighteen or possibly younger) enter the house through the front door. As with a few other dreams, the window area on the north wall relative to the porch and beyond is almost skeletal or unfinished, allowing passersby to get into the house easier if they choose, by coming in through the “window” or between two vertical planks. The girls seem very dominant and unimpressed by my ordering them to leave and they act as if my house is just a convenient shortcut (though they eventually leave the same way they came in, but return briefly). After a time, I start to walk around, asking aloud “Where’s my pistol?” I notice a couple toy plastic squirt guns on the table and make a note of it. I talk about calling the police, but do not (not even being sure of where the telephone is in this case).

      At one point, another unknown male bumps into me when coming through the living room (as I am standing near the front door) to leave via the front door - another intruder who had somehow just gotten in through the back door and wandered through the house until deciding to leave. This elevates my anger and makes me feel displaced in my own home. It feels despicable and ridiculous to have to put up with this.

      I eventually see another male near the porch’s (fictional) outer screen door as if trying to get in (it is locked at this point at least). The porch is rendered differently than in real life at this point. It seems more elongated eastward and has a wider and far more logical footpath-facing entrance rather than being very narrow and illogically perpendicularly offset to the left as in reality (thus extremely inconvenient, if not impossible, to use the front entrance for carrying out furniture or larger items, including baby prams - an extraordinarily stupid architectural design for a residence, in fact, requiring furniture to be lifted up and over the higher porch wall by up to three people).

      The last male attempting to get into our house (for no particular reason) has a very strange appearance and is also muscular though with odd skin. He has black veins in his forehead that are somewhat reminiscent of plant roots and extend down a bit on the sides of his face (and for a moment I ponder on whether it is some sort of eerie tattoo I am seeing - or perhaps he is somehow not fully human). I open the door and push him back and vividly feel his weight and presence. Out on the street, to my right, are more annoying people who are just mindlessly staring at our house. The level of vividness is quite pronounced to near-lucidity, though I do not become directly lucid at any point. There is no feeling of being actually threatened at any time, just pointlessly imposed upon.

    4. 9/4, 9/6, 9/7 & 9/9 Carried Away - DEILD + Recent DILDs #200

      *Lucid nap or 3rd wbtb (one wbtb during night, one got up for about 30 minutes and ate one portion of oatmeal 8-8:30am, third one simply got up to use the restroom and straight back to bed quite sleepy! ~10am? led to DEILD or in dream DEILD)

      ~1115 350 wbtb very tired! Browse pictures on phone until semi awake but still exhausted but got to some interesting dreamlets before dozing off.

      Held #hostage and I say that I need to get my asthma inhaler in my backpack but I plan to pull out my gun. #clever Woken by wife.

      During the 3rd mini wbtb I repeated out loud "I'm dreaming" repeatedly maybe total of 40 reps with breath/breaks. I either had and in dream DEILD or I had a mini awakening and DEILD in which I thought I heard someone at the door downstairs and I decided to take it as HH's (and as I'm saying this into my dream journal there was a quite loud creek/pop at my bathtub and the goosebumps are apparent! I realize it is just normal settling of the house but it sure was louder than normal.) Anyway when I heard the sound in the dream that sounded like someone at the front door I took it as HH's and I just focused on going back to sleep. When I do, I get very strong vibrations and I knew I was entering a dream if not already in one. The first sensation was of someone coming behind me and rocking me around in the bed. Then I start lifting up off of the bed and I am happy for this, it feels fun and is further confirmation that I'm already dreaming. Then the third sensation is of me sliding backwards like on a roller coaster laying sideways like I think I am laying in bed actually at the time and just going and going and going backwards at a good pace. There's even the sound of a roller coaster and its wheels rolling along the tracks at high speed. This goes for what feels like a good minute and I think to myself well enough of that and I seem to be kind of floating in a bit of a foggy void. This is late late in the morning and I'm guessing that my dreaming mind doesn't have much left to offer up. I do start getting a vague image of a sexy woman and we start having sex floating in this void. At one point I turn her over and

      then I get the sound of my bedroom door opening and then the feeling of someone grabbing both my feet and tugging on them once as if to say hey what are you doing still asleep. I get a strong urge to confirm whether or not this is actually happening and as I am apparently dreaming of myself rolling around in my bed and feeling like I'm completely naked I notice that I can't open my eyes. This makes me suspicious that I'm still dreaming and I sit up in bed (still in the dream) and I blindly growl like a crazy person having a bit of fun. I get the strong urge again to make sure that I'm still dreaming and I then force my eyes open to a view of my sleep mask actually now fully awake but eyes still wanting to close some more. If it were not for this strong urge to make sure someone was not inside my room I think I could've gone on dreaming some more but perhaps with weaker recall of all that happened before, who knows. I'm at the moment of transcribing this trying to decide if I should try again but it seems too late and probably a waste of waking life since the odds are very low. I have also become quite awake now transcribing all of this. I also feel that over-sleeping will cut into my dreaming tonight. Although the visuals left much to be desired, I am very happy that my presence in a lucid dream was back very strong as compared to my last several lucid dreams. I had a much stronger sense of self. Also, the sensations were very strong. With my day practices becoming rote again yesterday, I looked up and did exercise 4B from the open beta exercises and it drew some inspiration for me. The mechanics of this particular wake back to bed and DEILD are still unclear to me. 200

      Mom visiting soon IWL. In dream she brought my eldest cousin on her side and we had a long hug. I wanted my #Mom to give me #hug too but my cousin really seemed to miss me. Too much? Then she is accidentally brushing her hand against my junk? #dcBoldness Wait she keeps doing it. I ask her if this is a dream and then realize a DC could give me any answer true or not so need to RC but still hugging. Try float then glottal RC. The lucid was almost lost with glottal RC which confirmed I am dreaming. Though almost lost, it still felt very dreamy and I caught that it wasn't over and extended dream patiently waiting in void-like fuzziness/grayness imagining a beautiful blonde unfortunately got one that seemed to be based off another cousin but wasn't an exact match for her. Undressed her and had intercourse. FA recording dream. 198

      Friend has an assistant named Wuellda? So and so said she would be here..wait no she told me that...what in a dream?..exactly! #dream thought of.

      11? 230 I'm finally turned 21. A countdown clock or app confirms #tracking. I can finally get into that cool #club and will go tonight. No one can hold me back anymore. Gambling on a cards table game to get #money for something. This feels like it would be my son's dream as I recall no excitement when I turned 21. #casino

      experimenting on the edge of sleep zoom floating closer and closer to ceiling tiles (none above bed IWL) try to go back to #waterPark or anywhere. Earlier there was a fight in lazy river where floating with son. Before people #fall from water slides not following rules. Before I am #driving and getting directions from passenger to a 15 floor building, repeatedly asking is that it...no, I see it is just a water slide tower. FA caught: talk to wife from edge only air escaping sound #gasping and some hand movements. I think if I am more on the waking edge of sleep, she may get scared and may be thinking of scene from Intruders. 197
    5. Lucidity! Moving the Moon, Licking the Floor, Slow Motion

      A nice, detailed lucid that has to be one of my longest ones ever! I didn't do anything too epic in this dream except for a cool slow-motion sequence and a whole lot of observations, just to get back into the swing of things (I didn't want to try teleporting in this one, and unfortunately, I totally forgot about having a shared dream with members of the IOSDP).

      I was in a room that was about fifteen by ten feet; it had tan-colored brick walls and dark, faded hardwood flooring. I'm surprised I could find a picture that depicts close to what the room looked like! It looked like the one on the right; I have adjusted the colors and saturation to how it appeared in the dream. It was darkly lit by one yellow lightbulb in the center of the varnished concrete ceiling, hanging from a short but twisted cord. The glow of pale yellow light was steady and unabated but it was still pretty dark. In the middle of one of the shorter walls was a normal, closed wooden door that was painted white. Against the opposite wall, and again right in the middle, there was a double bed. It had a metal frame with one rounded metal piece for a headboard, and reminded me of a crib. On top was a soft, plush white bedspread that was thicker than a duvet. Room in a psych hospital, perhaps?

      I was lying on this bed, on my stomach with my head turned over to the right. There was no pillow; I was just resting on top of the bedspread with my head in the covers. Then, I suddenly felt extremely relaxed and almost felt like I was going to fall right through the bed - sleep paralysis. However, in the dream, I regarded sleep paralysis as a terrifying, mental abnormality that shouldn't happen to anyone. I sensed an unknown figure made of black smoke walk over to my bedside and stick a small, very thin needle into my arm, right where I'd receive a shot at the doctor's.

      I freaked out; my breathing became erratic and fast, which was very realistic for being in a dream. The episode ended shortly after, when the needle was removed from my arm. I burst out from the bed and ran to the door; I recall the hardwood floor being extremely smooth, without any spaces between the boards or indents. I opened the door to a whole other section of building. This wasn't an insane asylum or anything, but a house that was positioned right next to my school! I had emerged from the room with the bed, into a short, wider hallway which opened up into a central area. This was the second floor. There was a set of crappy-looking, broken stairs going up to a single-room third floor, and a set at the end of the room that went down to the first floor. They looked like they disappeared into the wall, though, because there wasn't enough room for the staircase to change directions. Below is the basic layout of the floor, along with a shaded section for the third floor above it.


      The whole place was lit normally. The floor had nice, lighter hardwood and some accent rugs here and there, all rectangular in shape. Although the stairs leading up to the third floor (closed off by a metal door at the top of these stairs) were broken and cracking, and the set going to the first floor were concrete and didn't match the rest of the floor, the place had a warm atmosphere. I felt welcomed. However, I had to tell someone about what I just experienced while lying on the bed.

      There were many people in the open room here; one person was at a round table made of polished wood, like you'd see in a small kitchen. There was also a group of six or seven people clustered around two windows on the far wall. They were large and slightly rectangular (horizontally) in shape, and if you were to look outside, you'd see the parking lot for my school, and the school off to the left. The house and school were connected. Outside, it was dark. Nighttime. The door on the wall adjacent to the two windows led to a relatively large bathroom.

      Among the cluster of people, I saw a rather grizzled man with pale peach skin that had almost a grey tone to it.

      "Hey," I said, slightly desperate and afraid.

      He turned around to face me and walked over to where I was standing. I knew this man was very kind and didn't think for one time that he was weird or off-putting, although in a real life situation, I may have avoided him.

      I started to talk. "I..."

      Midway through my sentence, I suddenly became aware. "Whoa... holy crap. Am I dreaming?" I asked, stupefied and excited. I did a nose-plug reality check to confirm this, and my lucidity went up a bit more. For fun, I looked at the man, using dream control to make him answer the way I wanted him to.

      "Am I really dreaming?" I asked, and he answered, throwing his arms up. "Yes!" he said excitedly.

      "Awesome! ...Awesome!" I exclaimed and almost ran off without stabilizing or doing any thinking. I stopped myself and started to reason out what I'd do in this dream. "Maybe I should try and get to an airport." But then, I thought the better of it and decided to save that for a time when I was a bit more lucid, and maybe when I was in a brighter location. After all, it was nighttime outside, and in the past I've had difficulties teleporting to daytime areas when I was in a dark area.

      "Stabilization. See how long the dream will last if I do lots of stabilization." I thought for a moment. "The bathroom," I then said, chuckling. "There'll be lots of stuff in there!"

      I forgot all about the people, simply skipping past them and feeling how weird gravity felt. It didn't feel like I was being pulled down to the floor quite as much, but I wasn't floating at all; I simply felt a bit less heavy. The door to the bathroom was open, so I just pushed it open more and walked inside. The floor was pretty gross - it was made of colorful yellow tiles, each probably only two or three inches across, with dust in the grout between each of them. There were pale stains along the floor from water, or something. I really didn't want to know. Altogether, the room was a good 10x10 feet, with a long, single white bathtub on the right that had a long, white clear shower curtain to match. The curtain was half-open. The walls of the bathroom were beige and also had very faint stains, which I guessed were from water. In front of me, at the end of the room was a sink. The left wall, adjacent to the one that had the sink in front of it, had the toilet against it. The toilet was the cleanest thing in the bathroom, but I didn't notice an opening to the siphon or plumbing. It just looked like a big, toilet-shaped bowl (ignore the irony there).

      I walked to the sink. Above it was a mirror, which was probably double the width of the sink with a fancy gold rim around it; this rim was a bit rusty and lightly scratched in some patches. I looked into it and saw myself - I looked as normal as I could have; I thought it was maybe just a trick of the dream and when I were to wake up, I'd realize I looked totally off, but upon closer observation, nothing changed. I looked like I did in real life, with the exception of my hair. It was slightly shorter than it should've been. I took my attention away from my face and looked past it to the rest of the room; I saw the door behind me, and the toilet on the... right? What?

      I raised my eyebrow and turned around. The room had gotten smaller; now it was the side of a normal small bathroom. The toilet was now on the right of the sink instead of the left, and the room was half as long and wide as it was before. The door was mere feet away from me; I'm guessing about six or seven.

      "Cool."

      I then expected a shelf to be on the left wall. Turning to the left, I saw a thinner, rectangular white plank of wood coming out from the wall. On it were toiletries; I remember seeing Colgate toothpaste and a toothbrush, along with a men's electric razor. I picked up the toothpaste and it felt like a rock; the white and red tube didn't seem squeezable so I just put it in my right hand and rolled it around for a few moments. I ran my left hand against the wall and felt small bumps, like tiny pieces of grit and stones had been trapped behind the wallpaper. It tickled my hand so I took it off, and then I dropped the toothpaste. I then decided to get (slightly) creative and lick the wall. I did this and it didn't taste like anything. I then knelt down and licked the floor, figuring there was no harm in doing it, no matter how nasty it may have been. The floor didn't taste like anything either. I moved my tongue around and said "bleh". Getting up, laughing as I did, I then smelled the air. I picked up a trace of sandpaper, but that was it.

      After sticking my nose out to smell the air, I rubbed my hands together and looked at them. I counted six fingers on my left hand, but it looked like it only had five, so I counted them again. It was a bit of a mind-bleep. My right hand was very weird; it had five fingers but my thumb was missing the middle segment; it just had the base part and the end where the fingernail was! Yuck! I was able to move it like normal after I stopped looking at it, though, as if it was back to the way it should've been. Finally, I stopped to hear any sounds I could pick up on. I heard very quiet, muffled windchimes, but although the sound was distant, it felt like it was coming from all around me. The sound was quiet enough not to bother me though, and it seemed to stop once I started heading back to the open door of the bathroom. I was now in the main room again, and the lighting had changed - all the lights were off, and the only source of light was from the moon outside, coming in through the windows. It was rather pretty, but...

      "Wow..." I said, a bit frustrated. "There is no way I'm going to change this to daytime." I walked to one of the two windows; more specifically the one on the right, closest to the wooden table, and looked through the glass. It was surprisingly clear. I saw the parking lot, but it was two stories down. I also noticed there were no longer any people around in the room.

      I shrugged and rested my hand on the glass, gradually pushing harder on it until the whole piece of glass just fell down onto the ground. I then stepped up onto the windowpane, first with my right foot and then my left, and pushed off, jumping into the air. I didn't float at all for once, and simply fell back down really quickly like what would happen in real life, then landed on the asphalt with a low-pitched thud that almost sounded like breaking glass. I then looked to the left; in the moonlit darkness I saw the large front entrance to my school, so I began walking towards it.

      Halfway there, I stopped to look up at the sky and I saw the moon, which was in a relatively normal location. Looking up even further, almost so that I didn't see anything on the ground anymore, I saw some tiny stars that were almost faded away completely. There were a few turquoise-colored streaks of clouds, which were also hard to spot. Most of them were near where the moon was. I didn't see a lot of details on the face of the moon itself; it was really just a white circle with some very light gray blots on it. I put my finger in front of the moon and dragged it downwards, towards the earth. I expected the sun to come up in turn, and for the entire sky to get brighter. However, even though the moon moved with my finger, the sun didn't come up and only a patch of sky above the school got brighter. Then again, I'd never been very good at changing the sky.

      "Brighten the sky," I shouted commandingly. Nothing happened.

      "Whatever, be that way," I said in the tone a parent would say to an unruly child, and waved my hand off towards the sky. I walked to the school and when I got there, I opened the furthest left of four wide doors that each consisted of only a metal frame and a big pane of glass. The door wasn't locked, but it would've been in waking life. I walked into the atrium, which was the main area of the school that spanned upwards for three stories, and led to, essentially, all the different classrooms.


      The main section of the school, right when you walk in, consists of a large, long atrium with a triangular glass roof, which allows for much light to enter the school, making it fairly airy and bright. Classrooms are on the left and right of this atrium, and near the entrance there's a large set of stairs on the right, just before the classrooms begin. The main tones in the building include light beige, light eggshell blue tiles, and accents of paler turquoise, such as on the window frames and stair handles.

      The place was actually lit very well; I looked up through the glass roof and saw the dark night sky, but didn't care, so long as I could see inside the building, which was bright. I passively traveled down the atrium and saw many different people walking around, but I didn't recognize anyone in particular. However, since I knew that I couldn't get to an airport and create an amazing chase scenario from here, immediately I decided that I just wanted to raise hell in this dream, by any means necessary. At this point, I'm not even sure if I cared whether I woke up or not. This dream was already longer than the majority of my other lucids, and I knew this.

      I crossed my arms and stood in the middle of the area for a couple moments. I wanted to fight and bring a whole mass of bad guys down on me.

      My gaze then flicked to the side as I imagined (without actually hearing anything) a twig snapping outside the school entrance. I breathed out quickly, acting like I'd been surprised, and then widened my eyes as I heard a group of men entering the atrium behind me, through the glass doors I'd just gone through. I spun around and, without visualization at all, saw that they were wearing dark gray and black S.W.A.T. outfits.

      "Man, I'm sick of these S.W.A.T. teams," I said, out of character for a moment and just complaining about the dream.

      "Oh well," I then said in a lighter tone. Back in character again, I saw a man in the middle hold a gun up to eye level and shuffle a few steps towards me. The gun he was holding looked like it was made entirely of lightweight metal, almost exactly like the one on the left. He was aiming for me and before I could do anything dream control-wise, he shot at me. I jumped up and curved backwards, just in time as the slower-than-normal bullet whizzed right underneath me. My jumping movement was fast, but as I arced backwards it became slow motion, which was an amazing sensation. I wasn't paying attention to the man who shot me anymore, and was simply taking note of how when I tried to move my arms, it would be like moving through a viscous liquid. I didn't try to move my legs, which felt like they were numb and floating. The slow-motion sequence ended in about ten seconds and instead of continuing to curl backwards and end with a backflip, I kicked my legs from in front of me to underneath me, and I landed upright.

      I looked at the men and raised my chin, daring them to shoot again,
      but the dream faded.

    6. Break-in.

      I'm at home and it is night time. All the lights are out and I am in the kitchen standing by the front door in my night clothes. I can hear people walking around the house and I am sure they are going to try and break-in. I am scared because I am home alone. A flashlight beam shines in the kitchen window and I hide in the hall space between the front door and garage door. When the flashlight beam disappears, I quickly glance around the hall wall and look out the kitchen window. I cannot see the intruders, but I hear their footfalls going around the house towards the back. In the front yard I can see a white Aveo. The vehicle is nowhere near the driveway and has been backed up onto the lawn and almost into the garden. Though it is dark, I can see that the car has torn up the lawn pretty badly and there are deep mud tracks gouged into the grass.

      I turn my attention to the backdoor and dash through the house to make sure it is locked. I can hear the intruders walk up onto the wooded porch and approach the door. I crouch down as far as I can and hope that they will not see me with their flashlight beam. The door handle rattles once and my body tenses and my adrenaline rushes. I feel light-headed and like I have butterflies in my stomach. The intruders slowly walk off the porch and I can hear them head back towards the front of the house. I run as fast as I can to the front hall and go into the garage. There is a crowbar on the seat of my dad's boat and I grab it for protection. I go back into the kitchen hall and wait for the intruder's next move, but I can no longer hear their movements. I am afraid that they may have heard me open the garage door and are planning to attack me.
