Tonight I went to sleep a little too late (I couldn't sleep -.-' fucked up my WILD attempt) and it was like I was looking at someone elses Lucid, I can only remember a few fragments:
Something with a doctor who did some sort of Inception-ish things in other peoples dreams. Something with a woman who was accused for something (murder?). Something with water that went red (blood?). Doctor walking through wall.
    2. kids in stairwell, leg levitation, lucid wall-cross fail

      by , 11-20-2010 at 12:35 PM
Good morning everybody. I remember three really short dreams from last night. They were all from after 2 AM. I had coffee last night and couldn't fall asleep until 2 AM.

The third dream was pretty much all lucid, even though it was short.

      Dream #1

I walked through some room toward a staircase. The staircase was just past a doorway and was part of some slightly larger hallway, like for a small apartment building.

The room I was in was something like a mix between a living room and a small apartment lobby.

I had to maneuver a little bit past some kids who were rough housing with each other right in front of the doorway to the hallway. There were boys and girls, probably in their early teens or just a little younger. Their parents stood nearby. I thought the kids were funny, and they looked like they were having fun.

I wallked into the hallway and turned toward the staircase. A group of kids ran just in front of me, blocking me from the staircase. The began wrestling and rough housing with each other. I thought they were pretty funny. I just waited for their rough housing to pass.

But then I remembered that the parents were in the doorway, watching the kids. I thought that the parents would think I was weird for hanging around and watching the kids. I decided to get moving. I tried to edge past the kids. It was really difficult, because there were so many kids, and the hallway was so small.

      Dream #2

I was in "my bed," in "my bedroom," which was a lot like my bedroom in waking life, except messy. My lights were on.

I was laying face-down on my bed. I was thinking bad thoughts about God. For some reason, I was really angry at God. The more I cursed him, the more amusing I found the activity.

Eventually my legs began levitating off the bed. I wasn't controlling it, but I thought I might be able to. My legs lifted higher and higher until my body was almost perpendicular to the bed, with my head on the bed.

At some point, I noticed little specks of dirt or something black all over my bed. There were also hairs or cotton fibers, also colored black, all over my bed.

I started trying to blow all the dust and dirt and hair off my bed. Some of it would blow away. But there was so much. I wondered how I could have let my bed get so dirty.

      Dream #3

I was in "my bedroom" at night. I was crouched down on the floor, possibly naked, with my knees to my chest. The bedroom lights were off, but I could see by the purplish evening light.

I told myself that this wasn't actually my bedroom. That seemed pretty obvious. I told myself I was dreaming.

As soon as I told myself this, I had a false awakening and sat up on "my bed." But I was still lucid.

I stood out of the bed and told myself to remain calm. I figured I would walk out of the house and see what was around. The house seemed like a suburban house.

I was heading for the front door. But suddenly I thought, Why should I exit through the door? If I'm in a dream, I should be able to leave the house any way I want.

So I decided to walk through a wall. I turned right, into another room, possibly another bedroom. I walked straight up to the wall, which had a window on it that started at about my chest.

I thought I might climb up onto the windowsill and walk through the window. But I figured I didn't need to go throgh the trouble. Walking through a wall and walking through a window were basically the same thing.

I began to walk through the wall. It seemed pretty easy. But suddenly I saw a bright light. I felt like something was resisting. I got kind of mad, and I pushed really hard through the resistance.

I'm pretty sure I lost lucidity at this point. I fell past the wall and fell a couple stories down to the ground. I think that as I fell, I was telling myself, Oh well, I guess I woke up from that dream.

I sat up. It was daytime. I "had awoken from my dream." To my right was a red brick wall. To my left was a beach, possibly like Coney Island. The sky was deep blue and the light was dim, almost as if I were looking at an old film.
    3. 10/13/08 Driving through flaming walls dream

      by , 07-06-2010 at 01:09 PM (Capoopy's Dream Journal)
My family was in a car and my dad was driving. We were driving in some big empty building. My dad was driving full speed towards a wall. I figured he would stop at the last second, but he didnt, and we burst through the wall, but it didnt even slow us down a bit. We kept driving through a few more walls when we came to a wall that was on fire. My dad said he couldnt drive through this one, and he was mad that he couldnt destroy any more walls
      Funny dream lol

    4. A New Lantern

      by , 06-20-2010 at 02:51 PM
As far as I could tell, the dream began as I was starring at a porch light (or lantern) mounted behind my PC monitor on the wall. Nothing is there in real life. I was noticing how glowy and warm it looked. I remember the light fall off was very sharp. Meaning, only a few inches away from the light it was still very dark.

As I was looking, I stood up from my chair and noticed there were a dozen or so plump crickets and beetles hanging out around the base of the lamp. Unlike real life, I didn't have a horrified reaction. Curiously, I instantly thought of a plan to remedy the situation:
      1. Get a garbage can.
      2. Place it under the lamp area.
      3. Bang the wall to knock off, and collect all the insects at once.

I turned on my bathroom light without breaking eye contact with the lamp. The bathroom light cast a bit more light onto the dark wall, and the bugs started to stir. -Then I woke up.

Note: This dream occurred the night after I read, and posted Dream 051 which is similar. I rarely dream about insects.
    5. “Walls Have Eyes”

      by , 09-10-2007 at 03:10 PM
Morning of September 10, 2007. Monday.

There is a building that is somehow on the edge of another dimension or mind (or someone else’s “mental universe”). We are renting the place and live here as a family, but it seems a bit too small at times, and also, it is as if we may be moving soon. Someone I do not know, possibly the owner of the property, hands me a special drill that will go through the really tough wall on one side (which seems to be to the north) so that I can look directly into this other dimension or mind (apparently in case someone is planning to do something wrong to my family or me). The drill looks like some sort of odd combination of the handles of a bicycle, an egg beater, and a modern electric drill.

However, both the drill bits (there are two, which form a sort of binocular-like set-up) and the wall seem to be made of some sort of odd, but tough material that is similar to plastic, but yet not plastic. The resulting holes are perfect for a pair of human eyes to then look through.

There is this idea that I would then be looking out from this dimension (or “my world”) into another dimension or alternate world as a character in someone else’s dream (but would have no control of that character, just supposedly somehow seeing from their eyes from my own perspective and “world”, the view of the other world adjusting with no movement required on my part). This seemed quite vivid. Even so, I do not observe much. I mostly view what seems to be ordinary human beings walking about in the distance. There is not the slightest feeling of being a voyeur at any point, probably because another level of my awareness somehow knows I am dreaming.

    6. The Ghostly Green Cat

      by , 12-02-1977 at 06:02 PM
Morning of December 2, 1967. Saturday.

A green cat is seemingly “haunting” an unfamiliar area of an unknown neighborhood in my dream (though possibly implied to be near my sister Carol’s house in Wisconsin). It glows brightly, mostly while walking atop an older brick fence near a residence where there are a lot of shrubs and flowers in the front yard. The green cat does not seem to be a lost pet, but perhaps the ghost of a stray. It does not frighten me in any way. Although I see it walking towards me at times, I also seem mostly incorporeal and perhaps unseen by this “ghost”.

A cat is linked to the idea of sleep yet being active at night, and therefore is a good representation of the dream state itself. Here, the cat mostly only appears in liminal space - the top of a wall. Although the color blue usually serves as induction, green sometimes does as well (in contrast to red, which mainly seems like a waking priority prompt).

This was possibly influenced by a very small plastic figure of a green cat (which may have come from some vendor novelties my brother Earl had in his apartment near ours at North Monroe Street) that I had in a large box of various small items, which included a soft orange rubber cockroach, a black brontosaurus with its head turned around over its body, and a plastic flying lizard among many other items.

    7. Zoo Breach

      by , 10-28-1975 at 01:27 AM
Morning of October 27, 1965. Wednesday.

In this dream from age four, I had been exploring Myrick Park in La Crosse, seemingly on my own yet without concern. It is different than in reality, probably more influenced from larger zoo features (or perhaps even a jail from a Western) that I might have seen on television.

There is a brick wall that I notice has an open space, as if several bricks had been taken out. I consider the difference between seeing animals, which look like some sort of llamas combined with large dogs, seen through the vertical bars (on my left), and how the animals might eventually be able to escape through the opening in the brick wall (to my right). I consider that I should move away from the brick wall area so as not to encourage the animals to escape. There is not a feeling of fear, only wariness.

This dream utilizes “wall breach waking symbolism” as a sustained waking transition, which has remained a lesser but consistent type of waking symbolism for over fifty years of devoted dream study and validation. It does not always have implications of possible danger. Still, a far more intense version can be seen with “Look Out for the Bull” from December 12, 1965 (though recurring), where a bull actually crashes through the wall (near a corner) in a relative’s house upon subliminal anticipation of the waking prompt.

Doorway waking symbolism (where a doorway is naturally rendered as the exit point of the dream state) has been far more common since early childhood. I do not think there is much difference between doorway waking symbolism and wall breach waking symbolism (as the dynamics work the same way, though more so with induction by contrast, in apex lucidity and conscious control of the dream state) other than perhaps the reticular activating system functioning with slightly different dynamics, which may be based on how fast or prioritized the preconscious dynamics are, which in turn may relate to how deep (or for how long) I have been sleeping or how loud the real environment’s ambiance is in intruding into the dream state.
