    1. Uncreatively named higher powers and an iron fence

      There's a war going on between two factions working for two different higher powers - one called the Authority, the other called the Dark Ones. At the moment, I and two other people are untying a woman from a chair, she's been held captive. She's dressed like a candy striper. One of the people helping to untie her is a woman dressed in an old nurse's uniform; the other one is a man I've been working with. I'm explaining something that this man and I recently discovered - the Authority and the Dark Ones are the same entities. They're not divided at all, it's the exact same entities appearing to us under different names, playing us against each other. It's my intention to end the war by eliminating their influence over us.

      The woman in the nurse's uniform has this look of hate as I'm talking about all this. In the end she says, "I hope you win," but it sounds like a curse. She runs out into the street and throws herself backward onto a spiked iron fence, impaling herself. The woman we'd been untying screams "Laura!", the nurse's name. People come rushing out of the building next door, calling emergency services.
    2. MDP #2 - Finding the Whereabouts and Fighting War Machine

      This continuous lucid dream story will revolve around the aftermath of the films Iron Man 2, Thor, and The Incredible Hulk, which will not culminate in the Avengers team but something different. Many of the lines are rehearsed in daydreams so the actual dreams should play out relatively well. I don't know much about the Marvel universe (I've only seen the movies) and dreams are often unpredictable, so the story will probably have errors and mishaps, but I'll do my best. This is "part 2" of hopefully more dreams.

      My Notes:
      A bit less vivid than the last dream, and I lost my lucidity only a few minutes too early.

      I started up on the top of a building. Who knows how that happened for me to end up there - but somehow, I had this very recent memory of being inside the building, which was like a library: I was in a small, off-limits section, which had warm lighting, smooth, concrete or laminate-type flooring of a more saturated tan color, and beige walls. There were also lots of bookshelves. I was in this room because I was looking for someone's phone number.

      At this time, I was seeing from a third-person viewpoint for a few moments. I ventured toward a certain bookshelf that I somehow knew was important, and then I knelt down and pulled out a pale yellow book, only about 200 pages, that read "Phones" in bold, dark yellow, arial typefont on the side. I had pulled the book open to about a third of the way through, and I remember reading "Barry Vaven" and "Jurn (insert last name here because I can't remember it)". The text inside was incredibly small, probably six-point arial font, and the paper was almost translucent.

      Back to the top of the building - the outside atmosphere reminded me of the scene when Cobb was leaving the helicopter in Inception , except it was day time, and the colors of the entire scenery were a bit warmer in nature. The building was probably thirty stories up - very tall, and there were other buildings, many other tall ones but some shorter, scattered around in a relatively realistic way. There was a basic black, straight railing lining three edges of the top of the building I was on. I walked to the edge with no railing and looked down, seeing all the tiny cars move on the very-detailed streets. I did not see any street lights at intersections, though. I then looked back and saw stairs; there was no small building on top with a door, just a neat, square hole in the building with concrete steps going down it.

      I didn't take them though, because I became lucid. I looked around and did a nose-plug RC, which didn't allow me to breathe - if I was less aware, it probably would've stopped my lucidity there, but it didn't!

      I was very unsure of what to do now, being in a place that I had no idea how to teleport from, and I knew that I probably didn't have time to walk inside, go down the stairs, and find a door. Thank goodness I knew the people involved in this part of the plot, though.

      I looked out towards the city, still near the edge of the building but confident that no DCs would appear and push me over and have me fall. I stayed like this for a few moments, then I expected Betty Ross (Liv Tyler's biochemist character from The Incredible Hulk) to come up the stairs. I imagined there had been a meeting in the lower part of the building, a conference involving leading scientists, and it was over. Anyways, I heard her voice and turned around, only to find Natalie Portman's character from Thor, Jane Foster, instead. Her brown hair was down to a few inches past her shoulders. She was wearing jeans and a tan leather jacket; her shirt was white and had lace around the neck. I sighed and my head dropped disappointingly when I saw her, because I was trying to create a scenario and this wasn't what I had in mind.

      "Hello, did you ask for me?" She sounded exactly like Jane Foster.

      "No," I replied. "Sorry for the confusion. Is Elizabeth Ross around?"

      Then I saw Elizabeth come up the stairs - it looked almost as if she wasn't walking, but more floating up the stairs. The last two or three steps did look normal, though. Portrayed in Liv Tyler's image, she too was wearing a brown leather jacket, although it was a chocolate brown, compared to Jane's lighter, almost tan jacket.

      "Can we speak alone?" I asked Jane.

      "Yeah," she said lightly. As I was facing her briefly, Elizabeth has appeared right beside me; when I turned to see her, I jumped a bit because of how much closer she was - it startled me.

      Jane was gone now. That was weird.

      The words I wanted to use came out perfectly, thanks to a high level of lucidity. "I couldn't risk saying this inside," I began. "I know a lot about you, probably... more than I should, but regardless. I know about Bruce."

      She looked at me. I noticed that besides from the clothes, she almost resembled Arwen from Lord of the Rings - younger, in a sense, with longer hair, but I didn't want to be too picky about appearances. "I don't know who this Bruce is."

      "Now's not the time to bullshit about this," I said, a bit fearful that I was losing both my dream control abilities and her actual character. A DC had behaved in an uninformed way once before, even though they were the exact character I'd wanted to show up.

      "Do you know where he went? Where he is?" I pressed. I also asked this question again with a different wording, but I can't remember what exactly I'd said.

      "No. I don't know where he is. But I'm thinking he's in B.C." She was a bit more open than I thought she'd be; I was hoping she'd think I was working as a military agent at first. Then she said, "who are you?"

      "That's fine, thanks," I said, not wanting to struggle with any more dream control stuff.

      Then I envisioned a squadron of military personnel coming up the stairs. Still looking out over the buildings in the city, I spun around when I heard a loud, metallic "thunk" on the ground behind me. I didn't expect that, but I did expect a confrontation - four or five men, in dark grey S.W.A.T. outfits and all holding metal, rifle-like guns, were crouched over them slightly and advancing towards me. Elizabeth spun around and started to panic. She said something inaudible.

      "They're not here for you," I said, "they're here for me. I got information from them, and they didn't like that."

      "What?" She sounded dazed, but incredulous.

      "See you later," I told her the, starting to back up while keeping an eye on the people walking towards me.

      And, I didn't mean to trip and fall off the side of the building (more like spin around and have an epic jump off the edge), but I did trip. Somehow, the edge of the building got way closer than I envisioned it before. My heel landed on the edge of the building and slid off, sending me backwards. I felt the air, and felt the dream start to blur vertically around me; on the way down, I was just saying angrily, "fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck." I was certain I would lose the dream.

      I didn't have more than three seconds before hitting the ground below, not feeling much of an impact at all; rather just the feeling of slowing down very fast, as if I'd landed and had sunk down a bit - but no, my feet were not in the cement; I'd landed normally. I looked up and noticed the building was much shorter than it was before; it was only three or four stories high now. I saw Elizabeth look over the edge, now wearing a white coat, but I didn't see the other people anymore. I did look around me, at street level, and observed a white strip of crosswalk rectangles; I was on the sidewalk, and there were no cars whatsoever. I looked around for S.H.I.E.L.D members. I didn't see anyone, but then I saw Whiplash's full-armor suit from the end of Iron Man 2 land in front of me, right on top of the crosswalk I'd seen earlier.

      I was annoyed. I was expecting War Machine, but I hadn't visualized enough. "Wrong guy," I told him sternly, in the way I'd tell a character in a play to do something. "Go back, when I turn around, War Machine had better be there." I turned around and looked back; War Machine was now there - his suit looked thicker and slightly larger, especially around the shoulders and feet, but that was fine.

      "You", I said in fake surprise. "You're still working with these fools?"

      "Sorry man, I don't want to do this."

      "Too bad, you're here now. Come on. Fight me. Set an example for everyone else up there."

      War Machine held his arm out and fired a small, long bullet at me (it was just positioned loosely on top, without any attachments to the armor); it almost looked like that "ex-wife" thing that totally failed in the movie. This one, however, exploded when it hit me. I used my invulnerability, a very simple power, which let the fire slide right around and past me. The fire spread out and impeded my ability to see for an instance, but then it floated around me, as if there was a current in the air.

      The air was filled with disbelief; I actually tried to make sure of this because I knew I was starting to lose my lucidity, and I wanted to keep the fight going with the same style and using the same plot. "Stay lucid, I'm dreaming, for crying out loud!" I said to myself.


      As I become less and less lucid, the fight became less realistic. I got to hand-to-hand combat with War Machine, in which the blows only landed softly. When I was hit by a punch or another attack, I'd feel a bit of an impact, but then it'd slide off me like I was made of jello. When I punched his armor, I'd feel my hand flinch slightly, which I definitely didn't want to happen (not unless I was an ordinary character with no special abilities). At least I didn't lose in the end. He flew away a good two or three minutes afterwards; after he landed the last blow, in which I wiped my hand across my mouth and smirked confidently.

    3. Metal Iron Man Toys

      I was in the bedroom from my childhood, looking through things in my closet. The room had light tan carpet, a basic upright wooden dresser, and a bunkbed which consisted of red for the bottom half and blue for the upper. Or vice versa, I can't remember. The lighting was normal, almost a bit brighter than it I'd have expected it to be. My closet was the length of the room (with the exception of a spot for the door) and a few feet deep - the room itself was about 11 by 11 feet - and it had two sliding wooden doors.

      There was a blue box in the deeper, left-hand side of the closet. Other than that, the closet was empty. The blue box was large, large enough that you could pick up and curl your arms around. Inside, there was a box of facial tissue, some unrecognizable toys, and then I pulled out a large Iron Man figure. It was probably about twenty inches tall and looked very realistic, and the toy itself was made of metal pieces instead of plastic. I knew that it was remote-controlled, but I didn't know where the controller was.

      I put it to the side and proceeded to keep digging. After a few moments I found another, slightly smaller toy; this time it was of the Iron Man "suitcase" armor from Iron Man 2. This toy wasn't remote-controlled. There were many small pieces on it, and unfortunately some had fallen off, namely a shoulder, a panel of grey metal on the front, and the headpiece. I snapped them back on easily, and left the room with the toy, intending to show it to my sister. There was no door, but simply an entranceway to the left of the open closet. I ended up exiting into the house that I am currently living in, and walked right into the living room without going through a hallway. I forgot about showing the toy to my sister, and I don't think I was even holding it anymore.

      The living room was square-shaped, about 20 by 20 feet, with hardwood floors, a flatscreen television lying on an obliquely-placed entertainment center in the corner of the room, and windows that went along nearly the entire wall. It was dark outside, but I could see that there was quite a bit of snow on the ground, probably ten inches or so, all shoveled into normal-looking piles on the sides of the roads and driveway.

    4. weird sculpture my fault; man walking in front of me

      Good morning, everybody. My sensation of the first dream wasn't quite like any other dream sensation I've had, although the dream itself seems kind of usual.

      I had the dream in something close to a waking state. Upon "coming to" and realizing the dreamlike quality of the perception, I could feel the "dream," as if it were sticking to the back of my head.

      I took NyQuil last night, as I've had the flu. I think I've had a similar "back of the head" sensation after taking NyQuil in the past. But not the weird "awake dreaming" sensation.

      This may partly be because of the book I'm reading, The Measure of Madness, which includes stories of people who committed crimes due to hallucinations or delusions.

      I've wondered how a delusion or hallucination would feel different from a dream. I think my brain was trying to accommodate me to some degree by showing me an "awake dream."

      Dream #1

      I was in some kind of restaurant that looked like it was part of Lever House. There were glass walls on my left side, showing mild daylight. The floors were stoner or concrete. Something about it now feels to me like the lobby of the UN as well.

      I sat at a table with someone like my boss. I was told that the reports I had put together provided weird instructions. The result was that people ended up making a weird structure. The structure was now behind me.

      I now stood at the back end of the structure, looking along it. It was a weird sculpture made of black iron or some kind of black-painted metal. The metal was made to have the rounded shapes of things like cartoon trees and shrubs. But it was all featureless and black, and it was all tilted 45 degrees on its side. There was also some kind of garbage all over the place, like white packing-styrofome sheets.

      Dream #2

      I was out in the city very late at night with a group of rich people. The people were all a little bit older than I. There was one pretty girl. The people all felt a lot classier than I.

      We were walking near my office. We might all actually have been heading to my office. At least I was. It was like I had to go to work.

      As we walked down a side street, some apparently random guy got in my way. He was tall, pale, and white, with a short, red beard. He was slightly overweight. He wore dark jeans, a long-sleeved, striped t-shirt, and a baseball cap. The shirt and cap were some kind of dull green-brown.

      The man would walk really close in front of me, slowing me down. I would try to get out of his way, but he would move back into my way. I would try to slow down, hoping he'd just forget about me. But he would walk a certain distance ahead, then constantly look back at me over his shoulder.

      The group of people were about 10 meters behind me. They were talking and laughing. I realized they knew this guy, and that they found the game he was playing on me kind of amusing.

      I knew the guy was "reverse following" me. I didn't want him to know where my office was. I arrived on the corner with my office. I needed to turn left to get there. The man had already turned left. So I turned right and walked a ways. Then I turned back around and headed to my office. But when I got to my office, I saw the man standing right in the revolving door, waiting for me, staring at me.
    5. Flying over the Stark Expo

      Notes:
      I decided against completing my goals yet again, and have some fun. I'd watched Iron Man 2 the night before this dream, so the content of this dream was obviously from day residue. Flying is probably the most amazing thing I've ever done in a lucid, and this might just be the best session I've had doing it.

      I was by myself at the Stark Expo, which was like a big outdoor amusement park. However, in the dream, it was located indoors, in some massive convention center with impossibly high ceilings. The ground was flat concrete or something, which was difficult to discern because it was rather dark (but there were lights overhanging the areas that people were walking. I was standing next to a long, rectangular fountain. There were five or six circular fountains positioned inside the rectangle-shaped one, and all of them were simultaneously spouting water in random intervals.

      I remember seeing a ferris wheel across the fountain and wanting to ride on it, but decided against it because I heard it was very unstable and could tip over. After the contemplation, I saw someone running towards me. The closer he got, the lighter and more visible he became; the man got within ten feet of me before I realized it was Tony Stark, one of my favourite superhero characters. Since he's played by Robert Downy Jr. in the movies, that was how he looked in the dream.

      He was wearing jeans with a small rip in one knee, and a fitted dark green t-shirt. "Hey," he said, bending over slightly and catching his breath. I didn't hear him exhaling, even though I should have because of how fast he had run towards me. "What are we doing now?"

      "I think you should get back at that guy for attacking you here last week." Then I remembered, "right, he's dead." And that's when I became lucid. "...Oh my god, am I dreaming?" I asked myself, and did the nose plug reality check to confirm. "Yes!" I shouted.

      I assumed flight position and took off with my invisible armor, shooting straight up towards the ceiling. The ceiling disappeared sometime during this, revealing the night sky. I felt the acceleration and slight vibrations like actual flight would entail, as well as a slight gravitational/g-force pressure as I went higher and higher. I heard what sounded like a small rocket behind me and at that moment, I assumed that Tony Stark was following me. Until now I was heading straight up, but then I leveled out so I was parallel to the earth. It felt like I was ten thousand feet above the ground, and below me I could see the Expo, along with a few other cities. I was getting a bit excited and, fearing I'd wake up, I decided to turn and fly towards the ground. It only took a few seconds to get close to the ground of the Stark Expo again, and when I was a mere thirty or so feet away, I pulled back and positioned myself upright. I slowly drifted down onto the ground like I was a feather.

      I have no idea where Tony went, because I didn't see him anywhere after I landed. I felt like I was on the verge of waking up, so I rubbed my hands and kneeled down on the ground, rubbing the concrete with my hands. It was a bit smooth for concrete, but since it was divided into large squares, I caught my fingernails in the cracks to create more tactile simulation.


      The dream ended abruptly as my alarm clock rang. 6:35.

    6. Tony Stark on a Blimp

      This was the second in a recent spate of dreams involving Iron Man. Since this was a longer dream, I became lucid on and off throughout the course of it. When the lucid parts occurred, it was less-than-average lucidity.

      I began this dream in a massive, futuristic dome; it had glass tiles like Disney's Epcot sculpture, and was the size of a few football fields. There was a blimp near the ceiling with a flat top, almost like a table. There was grass and palm trees on the ground, and different small stores around the edges. In the middle of the dome, there were city buildings, and here, the lighting was darker. This is where I was first. I was falling towards the buildings, and I heard narration from my dream: "since this is a dream, you can trampoline off the buildings without getting hurt, due to the nature of the dream." I didn't become lucid yet, but when I impacted the top of an apartment building, it bounced inwards slightly and I rebounded. The next time I hit a building, I only bounced a foot or two, and then landed on the ground.

      The next thing I knew, I was on a ski mountain, probably a green run. The hill was fairly steep, and at the bottom, I could see the ski rental station and another larger building. I had to get down quick, as I was late to meet Tony Stark, back at that massive dome. I had skis on, so I began to slide down the hill. There were a few ripples in the hill, but on the last one one of my skis flew off, so I had to go down on only one ski. I arrived at the rental station and became aware that I was dreaming. I had to leave the ski resort and check out my ski equipment, so I tossed the one ski over and said, "bill me". Even though I was lucid, the lucidity wasn't strong enough, and so I wanted to maintain courtesy towards the attendant. As I turned around and began to run away, they called me back and said that their credit card system is down. I rolled my eyes and pulled out a random wallet, pulled out a large bill, and then said to keep the change.

      The dream skipped again and I was no longer lucid. I was back in the dome, which seemed a bit smaller than before, and I still had the priority of getting to where Tony Stark was. Apparently he was on that blimp with the flat top. It wasn't that big; around the size of a regular bedroom. I pushed off from the ground and flew across the area to where the blimp was, and landed. There was a table covered with a white tablecloth, and Stark was there along with two other people. I pulled up a seat at the head of the table and said, "sorry I'm late, I got caught up in something." He was in a tux identical to the one below.


      At the table in front of me, there was a tasty-looking hot dog with vegetables and stuff. I didn't look to see what the others were eating, as it didn't really cross my mind. On the hot dog, there was mustard and some shiny, dark green condiment that actually looked pretty tasty. I remember going lucid again and eating the entire thing, but then losing the lucidity!

      While eating after becoming unconscious again, I plunged into a senseless conversation with him, his two bodyguards (as I then found out) casually listening on. Some lines from our conversation were, but not limited to:

      "I know we both invented it in our own separate ways, but you were quicker getting it into public."
      "They costed a lot of money. I had to sell a really expensive dress I owned to get proper funding for the event."

      I can't recall the direct purpose or topic of the conversation. This was pretty much all there was, and then I became lucid just as the dream was ending. I decided that this was a pretty interesting dream and didn't want to forget about it by DEILDing.

    7. Iron Man Armor

      I started this dream in the front yard of my school, which consisted of a big parking lot and an even bigger field, and immediately became lucid because of this. I decided to try flying, as I hadn't done that in a very long time. I attempted to will myself off the ground through mere expectations, and nothing happened, only a slight up and down motion. This upset me quite a bit, so I decided to go inside and summon a jetpack. I walked for a few minutes and finally got into the school's front doors. I saw many DCs wandering around, some holding books. When I turned around, I saw my sister standing beside me. She said, "you're trying to fly?" and I replied yes, but she walked away after I answered. I suddenly had the idea to try wearing the armor from Iron Man. I knew it would be annoying at first, because of the way you had to put it on, but it would definitely allow me to fly; it did once in a regular non-lucid dream.

      I summoned a door in the inside of the school, and walked through it. There was a large garage-like room with a metal pad in the center; this pad consisted of nine flat square sheets of metal. I had attempted to summon desks and computers like Tony Stark's workplace in the film, but this didn't happen. Nevertheless, I stepped onto the center square of the metal pad and... I can't remember!


      The next thing I remember was being on top of a building, the armor gone, but I wasn't upset. By this time, I probably lost most of my lucidity. The dream ended soon afterwards with me doing practically nothing, but I became lucid at the last minute and resolved to DEILD my way back into the dream.

      I was completely still as I waited for the dream to pull me back in.
      I heard my dad say, "Hey, it's time to get up."
      I wasn't thinking about it, even though it should have been my mother.
      I opened my eyes after a few moments since nothing happened.

      My alarm clock said 9:85. This was a false awakening, but I didn't become lucid.
      Moments later, before I even got up in the dream, my real alarm clock rang and I woke up.
