    1. Summer Competition 2023 04.06.23

      I was afraid like yesterday - today I will have problem with sleeping because I went to bed at circa 3am LT and it passed 2-3h untill I drift off. But good ending happening (sometimes)

      Dream (DF) 1#
      I dont remember this dream very well, only some pieces:
      On the begin I remember my dream looked like GTA (IV or V). I had some shooting with cops and I went from outside to interior of building. In the end part of dream I saw something like HoI4 game. I saw "battle" between my and enemi tank divisions. My division won the battle but it lost entire ammo supply and organization and I started to think my template of division suck.

      Dream (DILD) 2#

      Non-LD part
      My friend sent me to buy some food for our party. Some chips, alcohol etc. I started to count money he gave me and I return for more money then I went to shop. For some reason my dream changed scenery. It was just random moment - no after passing door nor rotate behind my backs. It looks like I have hole in memory bc I was walk forward to shop and my dream just changed. Now I was on my bike with half empty beer can. I wanted to drink some of beer but in last moment I saw police car passing me so I abandoned that idea (In my country drinking in public is illegal. And still I was on bike ) but police just passed me and nothing happened.
      I parked my bike on car park and passed 4-5 cops. "What happened here? What is going on?" I asked myself. I saw one policeman is pumping something like industrial hosepipe. I ignored that fact and just entered to market. For some reason my other friend respawned with me (I don't know him from real life. Just random NPC). We walk through supermarket corridor and stopped at kebab kiosk to buy some fastfood. I checked the prices
      -What the fuck, why evrything here is so expensive?!
      -Because customers are buying it anyways
      I was really hungry, my friend also. He ordered "rollo kebab hamburger". I ordered traditional polish cutlet in bread roll. After few moment cashier said:
      -Here is your order
      -That cutlet looks awfully. And where is roll? I ordered cutlet in bread roll
      -No rolls for you!
      -OKAY. SO I WISH REGULAR KEBAB AND DONT PISS ME OFF!
      The cashier started making new order and he went to backroom. After few moments he come back
      -My manager said everything will be prepare good but I cannot promise that he dont use his ass to mix your kebab sauce
      After that I just make sure the cashier started my order and I just left the place without paying. He was calling me for money but I just ignore him

      Lucid part
      Scenery of dream changed. Now I was with my childhood friend outside. I started to think that something is wrong. That isn't the place where I should to be. I check where I am and I made reality check - it's dream. My friend told to me
      -Lets go that way - he pointed direction with his finder
      -No, no let go that way - I pointed my direction
      -Nah, my way is better
      -Okay then. See ya!
      And I just flew away My friend was scared and I just flew away from him. It's was my fist time when I flying in LD with full control. The felling was so nice. And I can feel nice fresh wind on my face when I was flying forward. And the view of my city was wonderful. I decide to land on roof of the high building. I wanted this because it was abstract for me - just random flying person standing on the roof. In the meantime I trying to recall my three-step-goal but I failed. "Anyway - this is LD and I have fun! I dont care about step goals" I though.
      When I was trying to land on the roof I recognize I have problem with that. So I decided to just fell down from circa 3-4m. I didint feel any pain and It was something new for me. In normal condition mistakes in my dreams are painfully. Anyway I reach my roof and again I look for my city view.
      My friend respawned near to me. I saw his happy smile. He was proud of me.

    2. Comp Night 2 - Slept a Lot

      It seems like every time I complain, my brain makes me eat those words the next day... not that I'm complaining

      I watched the first How to Train Your Dragon two days ago and the second yesterday, in hopes that I could at least get points for the theme, even if I couldn't get lucid. It paid off!

      Dream #1 (Non-Lucid):
      The main character was a girl who'd been betrayed countless times, there was a brief backstory showing all the betrayals but I don't remember them now. She befriended another girl I'll call Isa, because she reminds me of my childhood friend Isabella. But some stuff happened and Isa ended up partnering with yet another girl (I'll call her Partner), who was also trying to kill MC. MC felt betrayed even though she'd also found a new partner, and Isa wasn't participating in the fighting, and in the end Partner was the one who got beaten up. MC and her buddy ruthlessly broke her right arm and legs before fleeing the scene.

      Partner was freaking out about her injuries, screaming and flailing around in agony. She called out for Isa's chiropractor who apparently lived in my loft, but a random Indian YouTuber came down instead. She asked if he could mend her broken bones and he said he could, but he wanted to "fix" her left arm first because it had "more wrist creases than the right."

      She hesitated for a while, as her left arm wasn't broken and his reasoning didn't make sense to her. He arranged his equipment (toiletries and a laptop), then walked off somewhere. While he was gone Partner could see that his website was being revamped, as it was displayed on the laptop screen and changed before her eyes.

      He returned and apologized, saying he'd had a "slow life" and didn't "get started" until now. (He was in his thirties.) Partner asked if he could just fix the broken bone, but he said he had to start with the wrist because of those creases. She was doubtful and worried he would damage the one unharmed limb she had left, but I think she was going to agree. I was stressed even as the nonexistent observer.

      Not sure how this happened, but at the end there was something about good grades and upbeat music started playing,
      and then I woke up. It was 3:43. I jotted down some notes and attempted WILD.


      Dream #2 (Non-Lucid):
      An artist was hired to go to China to paint "English drawings" on the subway. After she finished, she pulled on a lady's dress and begged her to look, acting really bothersome and creepy. But when the lady and everyone else turned to see, they were truly amazed, oohing and aahing at her work. It was supposed to be English art but it looked anime-style to me; there was even Sailor Moon fanart.

      The subway morphed into a bus and I became a passenger. I was a child and so was everyone else there, around 10 or 11 years old. One girl had super pretty light brown hair, I remember staring at it from behind. The dream went briefly back in time and made it so that she had two little braids in her hair instead of it being completely down.

      Even though her hair was beautiful, there was something off about it. She didn't quite look like a proper human being, the proportions and texture were slightly messed up.
      I remember thinking, Well, it's not real, so it makes sense. But I wasn't lucid.

      We were dropped off at an abandoned ocean. As far as the eye could see there was only greenish-gray water, and a tall concrete wall atop a thin line of sand. Rope netting was strewn across its lower half. We swam across the water, nearly getting eaten by a sea monster but climbing up the rope just in time. None of us wanted to stand on the sand because it was too close to the water, and we weren't willing to risk falling in. So, we walked along the top of the wall, even if that was scary as well.

      I had a conversation with a boy, some sort of pep talk. We were all confident that we would make it as long as we had support from... someone. I believe we were trying to get to that person.

      Don't remember any transition, but there was a scene change. I was in my room, my age again, binging multiple shows at once. Most of them were anime, but one was a live action movie. My mom came in and I accidentally played the live action for a second, revealing that I was slacking off. She started lecturing me about grades but I distracted her by joking about the show and making excuses.

      She told me that I had to construct dragons with some other people, one of which was my ESS classmate Jason. He was working hard; I was pretty lazy but there was a time skip and I had made three or four dragons, one of which was a combination of a small elephant plush and my dog Nile, except with wings. I named it Inukogun.

      All the dragons were in my bed. My mom said we had to kill them and a scene from How to Train Your Dragon flashed through my head. A solemn mood fell over the group as she ordered us to pick one. Shippo (from Inuyasha) was there and he wanted Inukogun but couldn't remember its name.

      He thought it would be embarrassing or offensive to admit that, so he looked through my notebook for the name and found it. I think I subconsciously helped him because I also wanted him to have Inukogun. They were both small and it would be cute.

      My mom said I was mean for picking that name—she apparently spoke Japanese and "kogun" meant "loss of space." [I searched it up and it actually means something similar?!] Essentially, I was calling him a "waste of space dog." I said multiple times that it was short for shoukougun (like Irisu Shoukougun/Syndrome) and she teasingly mocked me.

      Don't know when this happened but at some point I was flying around my neighborhood, talking to someone on the phone. They said, "Isn't it great?" referring to the way I pronounced something, but I don't remember anything else.

      I woke up at 5:30. At first I didn't realize I had had a dream or that I was even awake, but eventually I came to my senses and wrote it down. Again I attempted WILD, but I fell asleep without realizing it.

      Dream #3 (Fragment, Non-Lucid):
      There was a dragon named Strikeform. An expert on dragons identified his class, but I forgot the name. I awoke at 6:11 and like I said, hadn't realized I fell asleep. I was just lying there wondering when I would drift off. Then I noticed I was repeating "Strikeform" in my head over and over. Probably attempted WILD afterwards but I don't remember.


      Dream #4 (Non-Lucid):
      My dad was yelling at my brothers and my mom about having to leave to some place in Egypt. He stormed into the upstairs bathroom, some lady on his podcast shouting "I don't f**king care!" It was stressing me out and I hoped they would leave soon.

      There was a dog stuffed animal in the room that somewhat resembled Nile. My dad's footsteps made it stand up and walk over to me. (It wasn't alive, it was just the force of his footsteps making it "bounce" in my direction.) I beckoned it and thought, It's almost like my willpower made it come to me. Like a dream. But I didn't become lucid.

      Petting it made its tail move in a way similar to wagging. I thought it was weird but assumed that's just how it was made, that it was the result of highly intelligent gravity manipulation. I hugged it and felt glad that it wasn't alive.

      Then I was on a sidewalk, still clutching it, trying to sleep. Except that image was just a flashback—in reality, I was telling Jude a story about how I tried to sleep on the sidewalk.

      "I'm surprised. Aren't you always self-conscious about sleeping on sidewalks?" she asked. "You're always like, 'Aaah, what if they hate me for taking up all the walking space as if I were royalty, what if they kick me,' blah blah blah."

      I laughed because she knew me well. "I was about to get to the part where I move to the grass."

      And the flashback showed me doing that,
      but then my brother N left the room IWL and it woke me up. 6:40. I quickly went back to sleep after writing it down.


      Dream #5 (Fragment, Non-Lucid):
      I had a dragon in Berk that had pulled five people/puppies out of a river. Everyone in the village, dragon and human alike, bowed down to him. I woke up at 6:57 smiling with pride.

      The reason this is a fragment is because for some reason I was under the impression that I had already written down the dream. but when I checked my DJ, there was nothing. (Oddly enough, the bookmark was placed at a random page away from the rest of the notes.) By the time I wrote it down for real, I had forgotten much of the details.


      Dream #6 (Non-Lucid):
      There were two siblings in my room, a brother and an older sister. The former was bound in these weird rectangular restraints—they encapsulated his whole body, making it look sort of like he was trapped in a ladder. He had been told that they were to help him walk, but actually, they were keeping something evil inside him sealed.

      He somehow figured out they were unnecessary and started breaking them off, asking the sister why he needed them in the first place. She watched with a horrified look as his eyes widened, the irises glowing a bright purple. He looked at her menacingly… and my dad burst into the room, barking at me to hurry up and get ready. I hadn't been part of the dream, but now I was alone on my brother's bed, surrounded by the broken restraints.

      "Yeah, yeah," I mumbled, and quickly got changed.

      We had to walk somewhere in the middle of the night, but I had some sort of motorcycle and drove ahead of them. I zoomed along so quickly that shock waves exploded around me as I stomped on the gas. The bike had a mind of its own as well: when I told it to slow down or go in a certain direction, it did, albeit with some mischievous resistance. I remember freaking out a little because I couldn't find the handles and was just holding on to the headlight.

      At some point I very nearly smashed into an oncoming train, slowing down just enough that it whooshed past me without making contact. I decided I was done with the reckless speeding and came to a stop, waiting for my brothers to catch up.

      "Did you see that? I almost died just now!" I exclaimed. "You know what a train just grazing against your finger can do to a person?!"

      They didn't really care, and a conductor came over, saying that another train was coming soon and we had to get out of the way. I saw tracks forming on the ground beneath us. He instructed us to stand on a horizontal girder beam and hold onto another one higher up.

      "Turn around," he added. "Don't want dust, or worse, flying into your eyes."

      We did. I was tempted to sit down, but it was a good thing I didn't (as a narrator graciously informed me), because the beams suddenly flew into the air, spinning and rotating and flipping upside down like a rollercoaster. I held on for dear life, unable to make a sound, until they returned to their original positions.

      "Wow, that was horrible. I hated that and I never want to do it again," I said in a deadpan voice.

      There were more people standing on the beams now, one of which was my third grade teacher Ms. B. A reporter was interviewing her and I made sparkly-eyes to show I knew her, saying to the person next to me, "That's my third grade teacher. She was mean."

      I hadn't said it quietly, nor with malice. I was actually hoping she would hear so we could talk. She turned to me and didn't seem to recognize my name, but after some prompting from my mom, it came back to her.

      She apologized for being so strict with our class, saying that as she aged she had become much more lenient and now she loved teaching kids. Her hair was graying and wrinkles were forming on her face. She really did seem like a sweet old lady.

      The next person interviewed was someone from swim team named Umi, but in the dream he was named Umami. I did sparkle-eyes with him as well, and when I turned around some random guy was doing sparkle-eyes at me. I laughed awkwardly and looked away.

      Umami bragged about how the kanji in his name fit him perfectly, and three kanji filled the "screen." The first two looked like fancily drawn pirate ships, which I guess was fitting since they're related to water which is related to swimming which is related to him.

      Even Nile was on the beams, and he wanted to salute the interviewer. I was worried he would slip, but allowed it since he had both hind legs planted firmly on the bottom beam.

      After some time we got down and walked with Ms. B to a small shop run by my neighbor Diana. There were free lollipops in a bowl so I took a red one; it was sweet and tasty. Ms. B offered to buy a ginormous peach for us, but before we could work out a deal,
      I woke up at 8:22 from my other brother leaving the room.

      I lay in bed for 45 minutes trying to go back to sleep. At some point I heard a voice say, "If you want to fall asleep again, that'll be $14.99." I laughed, but I really couldn't fall back asleep after that.

      So many dreams and no lucids... my daytime techniques must be lacking. Not to mention all those failed WILDs Well, I won't despair yet.

    3. 03.06.23 Stress of work

      I spend a lot of the time at work, interacting with a bunch of random stuff, this reflects in the dreams, they’re basically more of the same, that could be the reason why I’m not paying much attention, except for some events, every now and then

      …/I’m in a place like the canteen although both bigger and darker, the dream scenario is blurry. Cannot say if it’s daylight or night due to I cannot see the outside. I notice a lot of people there, I’m walking around the mass. There’s a woman sneaking around us. It looks like a new employee of the HR area. One of my co-workers gets into the place. He’s unusually wearing a big jacket, like he’s coming from the outside. She stops him and arranges his jacket, then she takes a small bag out of one of his pockets. She asks about it. He grabs it and say: “That’s my bag of marihuana” and puts it back into his pocket. I’m like, he’s too confident with it. He goes on where he was going and I get immersed again into my activity of arranging random stuff/…

    4. Comp Night 1 - A Couple Fragments

      My recall and WBTB abilities have gone to shambles, just in time for the competition ...Actually, I noticed them deteriorating this past week, but I didn't expect it to get this bad.

      Dream #1 (Fragment, Non-Lucid):
      I was in my bed, trying to fall asleep. (A false non-awakening, as Harlequin calls it, but I think I'll call it a false falling-asleep.) A baldish 16-19 year old guy was standing at the foot of my bed, smiling at me. I assumed he was a really strong hypnagogic hallucination, and even though I was creeped out, I acted friendly to avoid any bad schema.

      He encouraged me to have a lucid dream, suggesting all sorts of techniques that I can't remember now. I said something like, "Don't forget about WILD," and he smirked confidently, walking closer.

      That's all I remember, which is a shame since I'm pretty sure the rest of the dream involved dragons. I knew I hadn't been waking up naturally most days this week, so the night before I set an alarm for 4:55, but I don't even remember hearing it; I was just suddenly awake and staring at my clock.

      I couldn't remember anything and spent the rest of the time trying to WILD, but I couldn't fall asleep. I would drift in and out every 5-15 minutes, though I must have been unconscious at some point because I had this dream.

      Dream #2 (Fragment, Non-Lucid):
      I was on a sandy beach in a videogame-like setting. I think I was running away from some responsibility.

      I came across a patch of sand with crabs and turtles and some other creatures scuttling around underneath. They would occasionally pop up to the surface before burrowing in again. The dream switched to third person, and when a red crab emerged from the ground, I smashed it with a wooden hammer, killing it.

      "Are you happy now?" I asked my mom. (I think it was her.)

      A rectangular floating box appeared, prompting me to place an important ID card(?) on top of the crab. I wondered if it was a good-Samaritan choice that would benefit me in the future, but I didn't want to risk it, so I scorned, "That's stupid, who would do that?" I was just hiding my uncertainty.

      There were some more turtles and crabs crawling around but I didn't kill them. I felt terrible. My dad started chasing me soon after.

      I didn't remember either of these fragments until brushing my teeth in the bathroom. I'm glad because it brings my score up from a 2... to a 3... I tried to take a nap after coming home from school but I couldn't fall asleep.

    5. Summer comp, day 1

      My dreams were all over the place in terms of recall. Only remembering the last couple scenes from them.

      1
      First thing I remember is finding screenshots of several people I know online saying horrendous things. I don't remember what these things were.
      After a memory gap, the very next thing I remember was being in this aquatic area, where I questioned why exactly I was there.. Then I woke into an FA, of course.
      When I was in the FA, instead of checking if I was still dreaming, I decided to recall everything so I can journal it.
      Then I woke up for real.

      I remember getting delivered 'ETWOLD 2' in the mail. I immediately went to go read it in my bedroom.
      When I opened to the first page, I couldn't read any of the words properly, dream-brain issue.
      Got into an FA after that, where I finally figured out it was really weird to ever think there'd actually be a sequel to ETWOLD.
      Drifted back into a regular dream plot, at my house.
      An old friend of mine (that no longer lives in the area) was riding a bike down the dirt road.
      Memory gap.
      I was at a foreign location in some town, heading into a building. A dog followed me in, then I got kicked onto the ground by someone.
      The dog promptly dove for my neck and ripped my throat out, wow.
      Then I quickly drifted back awake, quite unphased by it all.

      I was in a foreign building. There was various individuals from my old school, and maybe some family members.
      I don't really remember what happened here, though.

    6. Getting back into recall - 02.06.23

      Last day of the week to work, as usual, the daily morning routine tends to erase all tracks of dreams. This time I’m performing a bit more of effort just after the first alarm goes off, in order to hold the memories of what was dreamed. Seems like SC2023 is giving a hand to push into the journals.
      This time I was able to hold the last fragment of the last dream of the night… Day? Morning?


      …/I’m doing something with a pile of stout templates, arranging them to fit the corners. I take the one from above, it’s the template for a rough plane. It mixes with the alarm clock, I’m still holding it while I’m trying to stop the alarm/… It’s my phone.

    7. Night of Wednesday 5/31/23

      Big Dog Station
      I'm in an airport waiting area. I'm on international travel but I don't know where to. There are some big dogs in the area. I think that S would be happy to see them. One is a big poodle-looking black dog. I also see a big long-haired german shepherd looking one. I'm talking to my brother on the phone, and he is responsible for my bag being missing. I'm upset with him because he made the decision to leave it behind so that I could make my flight. I tell him that there are things I need in the bag, like my $300 headphones and work ID.

      I have vague recollection of a smokey-train station as well. Most likely connected to the above dream about travel.

    8. Getting back into to dream recall - 28.05.2023

      It has been a while since I don’t create new entries in this DJ, although I have some notes on paper and also some voice entries on other devices, I’ll try to put them here too.

      First round - Barely recall something about this short dreams, first I’m holding an old big blue book, when I turned it to see the title, it’s a Bible. There was something about my work, I see one of the single adjustable tables on wheels that sometime I use there. Woke up for short

      Second round - I woke up again to give the cat his early breakfast, then I was able to remember some details of this dreams, although complete forgot about what was it, perhaps something with my cousin. Then went back to sleep

      Third round - I started to think about an upcoming concert of Scorpions wondering if I may go there, then started to think about their live music repertory I start to hear the songs as I wonder if they’re gonna play them, I see the live scene in the middle of the crowd in front of me, every time I change the song, the color set of the crowd changes then I fall asleep… …/We're visiting our neighbors in a city which is not related to them in WL. The house is on the first floor, and looks like the house of some friend of my childhood. Sometimes it’s night and sometimes it’s daylight around. I have an urge to go to the bathroom. There’s something on the WC that doesn’t let me use it. They have some blankets in the bath filled with water. I think it’s a good place to pee, it’s full of water and they’ll have to change the water anyway. One of their older sons gets in and walks through a door next to the WC, he sees me and laughs, I feel embarrassed. The bath turns into a bed and I see a little kitty walking between the blankets. It changes its shape into sort of mouse with fox head. It’s a weird little animal. I touch it with my hand for a while. It runs away. I go back to the garage where I want to put a metal pole standing on the floor. I try to glue it first, then I notice I can use some screws to hold it on its base. I’m wearing a couple of black slippers with cats ears, I find them funny although they’re not mine/…

      These times I tend to forget all of the content right after waking up in spite of having the feeling there was a lot of activity. All I can remember from last night rounds is the last fragment just before waking up today:

    10. WILD Transition and Teleportation!

      I was complaining yesterday, but today I rejoice, for I had an EPIC lucid dream! I reached the 30-minute mark of this podcast, right in the middle of their teleportation discussion. Slept at 11:30.

      Dream #1 (Fragment, Non-Lucid):
      I wanted to refresh myself on the major and minor chords of piano for a summer program I'm enrolled in. I searched it up and found a forum similar to Dreamviews. Someone had posted a YouTube video explaining the chords, and other people were sharing their own specialties below.

      The way I woke up was very interesting. I was mostly unconscious, in a half-dream state, when I thought, No wait, I need to wake up! and my eyes flew open. Not sure if I checked the time before or after writing down this fragment, but it was 4:58. I lay back down and after 5-10 minutes of getting comfortable, I started a WILD transition.

      Now, I am not sure when it went from lucid daydreaming to actually being in the dream. Luckily I use the same green for both LDDing and semi-lucids, so it works out. But up until the blue, I really thought I was just daydreaming! (I now believe I was fully dreaming the majority of the time.)

      Dream #2 (Lucid Daydream/Semi-Lucid; Lucid):
      This is a dream.

      That is the mantra I repeated each time I caught myself daydreaming. The first concrete scene I remember is someone explaining how every time Kagome from Inuyasha returns to the modern era, the feudal era ends! Rather than them existing simultaneously, she travels through time to the future, where everyone from the feudal era is long dead. As proof, they mentioned the episode where a Shikon Jewel shard was embedded in a tree in the modern era. The jewel only shattered into shards after Kagome's first visit, so clearly what happens there is the direct past of the modern era.

      The scenery came into focus. Kagome was standing in the yard of her shrine-house, and a boy was explaining the above to her. He proposed that there might even be evidence of her from that time in this world. She quickly shot that idea down, but then he brought out a life-sized cardboard cutout of herself (apparently from the Feudal Era) and propped it in front of her.

      Kagome's jaw dropped to the floor in shock, and she circled around the cutout, holding its hands and straightening up so she would be taller than it. Then they forgot about it and went to a restaurant.

      I sat with them in a booth, thinking about telling someone how I distinguish between lucid daydreams and actual dreams. In a lucid daydream, I'm still aware of my WL body and can't see or feel anything clearly, but the plot is as random and elaborate as a proper dream... [Kind of ironic now that I can't tell.]

      Kagome was telling the boy that gakuran uniforms were required for everyone in her old middle school. (She was a high schooler in this dream, wearing her usual seifuku.) I had never heard of that before, and the guy was confused as well. "Required?" he asked.

      "Yeah," she confirmed, then stood up and left, presumably to get food.

      "Guess she likes wearing a skirt now, though," he said to me.

      "Yeah, well, it makes sense." I spoke with the affectionate tone one uses when they know a friend well. "I can just hear her voice in my head: 'I don't want to wear pants! A sailor uniform is way cuter!'"

      He asked what I would choose, and I replied, "Gakuran, obviously."

      "Huh," he said. I wasn't sure what to make of that, but then the "daydream" ended and moved on to the next.

      My brother Z, best friend S, and I were in a hotel room S had booked for us. I didn't question it because I was still repeating the "this is a dream" mantra in my head. It was a nice, expensive-looking room. A bunk bed was pressed against the wall, and although S and a bunch of bags were on the top bunk, it was apparently mine. Z got the bottom bunk (which was concealed by an intricately designed blanket-curtain), and S got the regular bed next to us.

      Eventually my brother and S left and I was alone in the room. I'm not sure about the order of events after this, but I'll try to arrange them in a way that makes sense.

      I went to the bathroom and did my business, for some reason deciding to throw my dirty toilet paper in the trash can. [IWL I find that disgusting.] For a moment I got confused over whether it was really a trash can, since there was soap(?) in it as well. But then I saw a pile of TP and pushed it aside to dispose of mine, revolted that I had to touch it. I hurried to the sink, wondering why they had to make it so confusing.

      Still, this place is so nice, I thought as I washed my hands. The faucet handles were the indented, circular type, and underneath the clear surface of the left knob was a casual pink color. Everything was so homey and comfortable, from the lighting to the furniture. There was even a couch in there! I wondered how S could possibly afford this, then reminded myself it was a dream.

      Suddenly Shippo, Miroku, and Inuyasha appeared. Shippo was talking about how weird it was when Inuyasha flirted with him (he was possessed by a flea in that episode), but the reason he found it weird was either because he was a fox or a boy. Both Miroku and I were thinking, It's weirder because you're a child...

      I told them it was okay because Inuyasha was brainwashed by a flea at the time and wasn't actually addressing Shippo. Some other stuff happened that I don't remember clearly; I think I touched Inuyasha's face and clothes to immerse myself/stabilize.

      I somehow ended up in a place that looked like my living room but was still part of the hotel. There was a really muscular guy sitting in my chair. When he leaned forward I sat down behind him, though I wasn't sure why. He got offended and grabbed me, body-slamming me on the couch. I struggled to escape, but it was hopeless.

      Luckily he transformed into a giant cob of corn. The weight on my chest reminded me of how some people describe sleep paralysis, and since I still thought I was daydreaming, I assumed the feeling originated from my physical body. I couldn't figure out why though, as I have been sleeping on my back for years and long gotten used to it. Nonetheless I tried to ignore it; I didn't want to give up the WILD.

      I managed to roll the corn off of me and fell to my knees on the floor. Everything had become dark and unclear, so I stared at the coffee table, the couch, and a tissue box to re-stabilize. I wanted to hurry and transition into a full-fledged lucid dream, so I held the tissue box in my hands and tried to make it three-dimensional. It only worked a little.

      Next thing I remember is sitting in the hotel lobby, clarity no longer an issue. There was a TV fixtured to the wall, displaying previews of Pinocchio-P songs. One of them was a creepy vampire-person bearing their fangs, and I worried it would seep into my dreams and give me my first nightmare in years. I turned away from the screen.

      Then I had a false awakening in my bed, the same painful pressure from before weighing on my chest. Actually, it was worse this time—I could hardly breathe.

      I struggled to sit up, telling myself without much hope, It's okay, this is a dream, this is still a dream.
      I did a nose-plug reality check and it worked effortlessly! It was so unambiguous that there was no question about it: I was (properly) dreaming!

      Wasting no time, I climbed down from my bed and left the room, glancing at N on my way out. I tried to immerse myself in the scene but my vision became patchy, so I focused instead on my destination. I had run through my goals very quickly in my head and settled on snowboarding. I went down the stairs and headed for the front door, gravity so light that I might as well have been walking on the moon! I grinned from ear to ear 'cause it felt so cool.

      I wrapped my hand around the handle and thought, Beyond this door is a snowy mountain, the same one I went snowboarding at in middle school. I remembered CanisLucidus's words and tried to imagine it in as much detail as possible. When I opened the door, though, it was only my neighborhood... except blanketed in snow and decorated with Christmas lights! Pretty awesome, but not what I wanted. (I wondered briefly if it would be cold but didn't want to waste time finding a jacket or boots.) I closed the door, intending to try again, but the wood had become glass. I doubted the technique would work if I could see what was outside, so I accepted my fate and exited the house.

      After walking a short distance, barefoot yet not cold at all, I looked to my left and saw the snowy mountain right there! Complete with a ski-lift and everything! I sprinted to the top oddly quickly and saw that there were a bunch of kids snowboarding already. It appeared to be a competition, and reminded me of the LDing comp in less than a week.

      The kids' stuff was scattered around in the snow, so I stole a snowboard out of a bag labeled "Olivia." It was light blue and on the small side but whatever. I looked around for socks and shoes, since I didn't think it was a good idea to strap myself in barefoot. I spotted a fuzzy pink pair of socks, but they were a bit thin and, frankly, ugly...

      A little blond girl ran up to me, eyes sparking with excitement. "We're making some awesome socks over there! Wanna see?"

      How useful, I thought. I smiled at her and said sure. She took me to her parents and I kind of forgot about the socks. The dad pointed to two other children and said, "This is her brother, and this is her identical twin sister."

      The twin was a lot darker-skinned than the first girl, I guess because the mom was white and the dad was black. [I know that's not how identical twins work… 99.9% of the time.]
      Without warning, I woke up.

      The clock read 5:28, so taking into account my time spent getting comfortable, I was only asleep for 20-ish minutes, same as yesterday. I was shocked because it felt like at least an hour! But I couldn't go back to sleep because I spent the rest of my time writing. (Wish I could use my phone... sigh.)

      Anyway, this does count as teleportation, right? It's similar to the closet method, after all. Either way, IT WAS SO COOL!!!

    11. 20th Lucid Dream

      Last night I listened to 15 minutes of this podcast before going to sleep at 11:20.

      Dream #1 (Fragment, Non-Lucid):
      All I remember is that there was this whole thing at school about taking a break from cheering by playing Hearts. My dad was especially hung up about it. Later, I was at my house and Z said he ran "10 miles yesterday," followed by N saying he ran one.

      ———

      That's it. It's sad because I have the sense this was a ginormous dream, and also because I didn't wake up till 5:30. I jotted the dream down and poorly did SSILD till I fell back asleep at 5:40-ish.

      Dream #2 (Lucid; FA; Non-Lucid):
      I can barely read my handwriting for this but I'll try! The main character was a guy in his late twenties, and his companion was a girl who could've been anywhere from 19-24. They were in my house, but in different rooms. She was "off-screen" in the bedroom, and he was in the bathroom with the lights turned off. He was perched on top of the door and holding his breath, hiding from a monster coming up the stairs.

      Not sure how that scene transitioned into this one, but the monster was now in the bedroom about to kill the girl. MC ran in and knocked it off of her. I can't recall its appearance, only that it was big and dark... maybe wearing a tophat and bowtie? Anyway, the monster turned on him, trying to poke his eyes out.

      MC held it off but was starting to feel a little nervous now, so he said in a silly voice, "Why do they always go for the eyes?!" [They had fought multiple monsters before this; not sure if they were false memories or not.]

      His attempt to lighten the mood worked. The monster backed off and became friendlier, though MC could feel it was still a threat. It gave him a watch and headed toward the exit, saying something neither MC nor I (as the nonexistent observer) could make out. Right before it left, though, the words "come to that place later and meet me" could be heard. MC agreed, but I don't know if he really meant it.

      Later he turned into a child, except it was only an illusion. (Not sure how it worked.) He really wanted to be a kid again. I was now a character in the dream, viewed from third person, following him through a library. On either side of us were windows revealing kids playing with blocks and toys and each other. He wanted to join them, but he couldn't because he was an adult. I think I asked him something, but he didn't reply.

      We came to what looked like a mall play area. The unspoken rule that adults weren't allowed was less heavy here, but it would still have been odd. I asked another question and he said he just wanted to pet the cat. Sure enough, at the end of the room, on a stool, was a black cat. He pet it with his tiny hands. I could tell he wanted to give off an air of childish innocence, and I faintly felt a mix of disgust, pity, and affection.

      Then something happened and he bolted out of the library, planning on running away from home. I took his place (as in, I was dealing with his situation, but in my body) and he disappeared. This world was more technologically advanced and I knew the chances of me escaping were slim.

      I climbed on top of a wall and somehow knew this was Washington DC.
      Then out of nowhere, I realized I was dreaming. "Right, that's right, I was trying to have a lucid dream!"

      My first instinct was to slow down and stabilize before doing anything. I felt the wall with my hands and feet, looking out at the city and the night sky, and wow, it looked so real! Until I looked back down and everything got blurry, that is. I tried not to worry about the half-blind problem, but I couldn't help it, and although it didn't happen, the dream still faded and
      I woke up.

      It was a false awakening. I checked the time and it was past 10:00. Huh...? Do we not have school today? Well, that's good, I'll try to have another lucid dream then. I thought that and went back to sleep.

      The scene switched. I was now preparing for some competition at school. The purpose of it was to give "losers" another chance, whatever that meant. But even non-losers had to participate! I was apparently a non-loser in this dream and questioning why I had to go, whining at the top of the stairs about how it's not fair.

      The tone of my voice ticked my dad off and he started yelling an "explanation" at me from downstairs. I don't remember my reaction, I just went into the bathroom and
      woke up for real.

      It was 6:02 when I woke up, so this dream was only 20 minutes long. Still... WHY ARE ALL MY LUCIDS LATELY SO SHORT?! And low-level as well... hopefully things improve over the weekend.

      I fell asleep after work yesterday and been taking weird short naps throughout the night as my sleep schedule is once again screwed but saved by having a day off today meaning I didn't have to set an alarm. I fell asleep shortly after messaging Adobe's customer care team who said I have to pay a cancellation fee but told me they could waive it once

      In my dream I'm in an industrial area which is apparently the headquarters of Adobe and I misread the message from the customer support saying they're gonna force me to have a vasectomy/castration and take one of my testicles in exchange for getting my Adobe subscription cancelled. I spent the entire dream running away from them and my fellow Dutch colleague from my job was also there for some reason.

      Second half of the dream consisted of standing in a large, acoustic, cardboard coloured box with a bunch of friends who resembled the travel buddies I made when stranded at the Bad Bentheim station in Germany. My high school friend was there as well and we made a song of which the drums consisted of my high school friend getting hit in the head by a bag of nuts.

      I woke up laughing, I recorded that drum loop in my voice notes and will open my music software later to recreate it hahahaha
    13. Fragments - Navigating a "Mall School", Free Rat Cage

      Notes:
      I had poor recall last night. I can only remember two dreams, and limited details for both of them. This is unfortunate because I know they were much longer, especially the first dream. There are so few details that I'm combining the two dreams into a single entry.
      Fragment 1: Navigating a "Mall School"

      This dream took place in my old high school. The school had an interesting layout consisting of a massive long atrium, with classrooms lining either side of that atrium. Above this main floor was a second and third floor, and each had the same layout as the main floor, with classrooms lining the walls on either side. However, there was no floor in the middle of the atrium for either of these higher floors, which created a big open space in the middle of the school for people to congregate. If you were in the middle of the atrium on the main floor and you looked up, you could see the glass ceiling and sky. From this vantage point, you could also see the edges of the other two floors, and all the railings above them, which prevented students from falling down to the main floor. You could also see a few staircases, also with railings, that connected all three floors.

      I was walking up a staircase, heading from the main floor to the second floor. There were no railings on the staircase. I felt a bit confused and concerned, because I knew people could easily fall, and I tried to stay closer to the wall so I didn't fall myself. (I often dream about this school in my dreams, and it's very common for the railings to be missing.) There were many nondescript people walking up and down the stairs, passing me.

      I remember how, while the location was obviously modelled after my high school from real life, the vibes were different. Everything felt unfamiliar to me, and it didn't even completely feel like a school. Instead, it felt like a cross between a school and a mall/transit hub. There were a lot of small business signs, even some neon signs. There were some potted plants, too. The lighting ranged from normal indoor lighting, to dimmed lighting where things were only lit by a handful of small pot lights.

      Once I reached the second floor, I got lost. I vaguely remember wandering around for some time, going down hallways and entering rooms, and my travels seemed to extend well beyond the logical size of the building itself, like there was some kind of Tardis "it's bigger on the inside" phenomenon happening. Eventually I arrived at a futuristic bus stop, still within the school, and took some kind of bus. The lighting in the building had become very dark. I can't remember anything past that.

      Fragment 2: Free Rat Cage

      I was in a small room that could have been a den. Inside this room, there was a plush, taupe-coloured sofa (L-shape), and behind it, there were a few different stacks of cardboard moving boxes. In the dream, I knew I was extremely busy and I had tons of work to do. I knew the work involved my mother and these boxes somehow. Even though they were cardboard moving boxes, however, there was no implicit understanding that I was indeed moving. I knew I needed to start removing the boxes from the room, so I started dragging out each of the stacks from behind the sofa. It didn't take much effort to drag them, because the boxes were weightless, and even though I made bigger movements while pulling them, the stacks didn't feel precarious or wobbly. It was like gravity wasn't affecting them, or like each stack was a single solid object.

      Once I pulled out enough of the boxes, I discovered a cage for small animals that had been hidden there. It looked like a Critter Nation cage, with metal bars that were painted black. At the bottom, it had a blue tub that was around six inches deep, presumably for bedding. But the cage wasn't as wide as a real Critter Nation cage. Instead, it was tall and narrow. It must have been 2x2x5 feet tall.

      Somehow, I knew this cage was free to take if I wanted it. I looked at it thoughtfully, and I asked myself if it was big enough to accommodate two rats. In the dream, I had apparently been contemplating getting rats for some time, and even though I was still undecided, I almost wanted to take the cage home. My rationale was if I took it home and I did choose to get rats, I wouldn't need to spend money on a new cage. However, I ultimately decided against taking it, because I couldn't confirm if it was suitable, and I didn't have time to stand there and deliberate. I reassured myself by thinking something like, 'no big deal, I'll find another free cage down the road'.

    14. Why Does This Keep Happening??

      Title is in regards to the lucid. Went to sleep at 11:45, a little later than usual because my brother's explosive fart startled me awake as I was drifting off.

      Also, happy Mother's Day!

      Dream #1 (Fragment; Non-Lucid)

      Dream #2 (Non-Lucid)
      I was in J and L's car. Their mom was driving us to the school so they could sign up for something called "NASSER." [We're learning about him in history but in the dream it was just some program.] I was thinking about joining as well until I realized it was a cheering thing.

      Eventually the plot changed and I was going to a bunch of side characters' houses (that's actually how I thought of them in the dream). I knocked on one door and a young, straight couple answered. I stared at the man's face, making sure I recognized him.

      He smiled awkwardly down at where I was, for some reason, crouching. "Uh, do we know you?"

      "Yes!" I exclaimed. "I'm the one who came to your doorstep crying earlier, like this!" I mimicked a wailing sound, hoping it would be more funny than weird. Not sure if that event actually happened or if it was a false memory. Either way, it seemed to jog their memory, and they let me in.

      I sat down at their table and watched them. The gf was scolding the guy for not taking care of their little cat-child. [Not a neko-person—a literal cat, which was somehow their child.] He held up his hands and tried to laugh it off.

      Some time later, a bunch of weird battles happened. We'd get in a giant heart-shaped balloon and fight other balloon-creatures. It was pretty cool, but eventually we got overpowered and had to flee. A bonafide car-chase ensued, complete with suave spy music and everything.

      A keychain was sticking out from the napkin holder, and the dad pulled it out, revealing his cat-child! "Oh, thank God, thank goodness, [gf's name]..." Apparently she had put it there. It nuzzled against his fingers and we continued driving.

      We passed by a giant Mr. Krabs in his own balloon, and I wanted to fight, even though I knew it wasn't a good idea. We got out and into our giant heart-balloon, and I started to have regrets...
      Then I woke up.

      It was 5:30, which was pretty distressing for me since I usually wake up for the first time at 3:00-4:00. I jotted down some quick dream notes but didn't fall asleep till after my 6:15 alarm went off.

      Dream #3 (Lucid):
      I was dropped off at my school, I guess for orientation or something. These two blond girls got out of the car in front of me, one with the appearance of a 1st grader, the other a 5th grader. I think they were supposed to be freshmen.

      The older one took the little one's hands and said sympathetically, "[Name], I'm so sorry that you won't be having as many dreams now that school is starting."

      The little one responded solemnly, "No, [name], I'm sorry that you won't be a natural lucid dreamer anymore."

      That's not how it works, why would she say that? I didn't think it with words, but it's how I felt. The OG looked troubled and dropped her hands.

      I was excited to hear people talking about lucid dreaming, so I kept my eyes on them as we walked toward the school. The OG was still talking about it and doing a series of reality checks. I was a bit surprised she knew about/performed them despite being a natural LDer.

      Uncharacteristically, I approached them in the middle of their conversation. "Do you wanna know the best reality check?"

      The LG stared up at me with a neutral expression, but the OG jolted away and shrieked in disgust. "Get away, don't touch me!!"

      I wasn't touching her in the first place but I backed up, thinking, What's her problem? I tried to play off my wounded ego by continuing: "Okay, okay, gosh... but do you really not want to know?"

      It didn't seem like she did, and she still looked disgusted, but she said, "Fine. What is it?"

      "The nose plug RC! You just plug your nose and try to breathe through it."

      For a few seconds she just looked at me with an inexplicable expression. Finally, she said slowly, "I've tried that in a dream before. It didn't work."

      "Oh, really? Ahahaha, okay..." Now I felt stupid. "I've also had some failed RCs, they were all finger-through-palm ones, though... Anyway, I've only had 15 LDs so far but I think it's really cool that you're a natural! Okay, bye!"

      I turned to flee, but the school doors were right in front of us, so I held them open (with some difficulty) for the two girls. When I turned around, though, they were gone. This big brawny kid was trying to get in, but I practically looked through him, croaking out pathetic sounds of confusion.

      Then I had a false awakening. As I often do, I was thinking about the dream without knowing it was a dream yet. Sitting up, I thought, I should've added that if the nose-plug doesn't work at first, you could try moving your tongue so that only the tip is touching the roof of your mouth. [I wonder if this would actually help...]

      Eventually I realized it was just a dream and I needed to do an RC now. A weird wave-feeling rushed through my head; I assumed it was the excitement of possibly being lucid, and that one could wake up from it if they weren't careful. I plugged my nose and breathed. Nothing happened at first, but when I paid really close attention,
      it did seem like a little air was getting through. I couldn't believe it! I was really dreaming!

      Okay, I should make the floor light up as I walk, even if dream control is harder in FAs... should I try to find an unusual pet instead? I considered my options as I climbed down from my bed, but as soon as my feet touched the floor, HALF OF MY VISION WENT AWAY!!! The left half this time! I tried to ignore it and walk out of the room, but in a matter of seconds the scene dissolved and
      I was awake, my eyes trained upwards.

      This is the third time this has happened... I can only assume that I'm opening one eye in real life. It doesn't happen all the time, though... maybe only when I'm nearing the end of a dream.

      It was 7:20 when I finished writing, but I went back to sleep because I could.

      Dream #4 (Non-Lucid):
      My memories of this dream are pretty fragmented, but I understand the gist of it.

      I was with J in my neighborhood, and we were trying to get to school. She had a map but couldn't read it. Eventually I noticed that not only was she holding it upside down, but it wasn't a map to the school in the first place! "Isn't that a world map?" I asked, laughing.

      I don't remember her response, but she gave up and we started walking. I noticed a wrestler-looking guy trailing behind us and took J behind a fence. As expected, he found us. I stepped in front of J and demanded to know why he was following us.

      "Do you know The Phoenix?" he grumbled menacingly.

      I had no idea who that was, but just to mess with him I said, "Do you mean... THE Phoenix?!"

      "SO YOU DO KNOW!" he roared, and the ground exploded, a wrestling ring rising up from the earth and surrounding us. I thought it was hilarious, until a flying tiger jumped into the ring. Then I grabbed J and ran, leaving them to fight each other.

      Later the main character became a girl who was sharing a lucid dream with her friend. There was a whole backstory I don't remember, but at one point she was watching these AoT characters reel in a broken piece of the dock from a bay? I don't know what was going on anymore, but it was pretty epic in the dream.

      Then she woke up, did DEILD by forming a glowing golden ball in her hands and absorbing it into her chest. She did this multiple times, but I don't remember any other specific breaks.

      Now she was in a port city and had a DC friend who was both jealous and money-grubbing. The MC could form giant metal Mecha suits of armor around herself and used it to fight evil. She was able to incorporate the DC friend into the armor as well, but chose not to this one time. For the rest of the dream the DC friend was being a sulky brat about it, until the MC sat down in my house's kitchen, waiting to wake up.

      She was using a voice recorder, intending to bring it back to the real world to see what the transition between sleep and waking sounded like. Other people were also able to hear through it. It was here that she half-became me, and the DC friend became my friend A. She was dressed in her handmade black dress and was teary-eyed.

      "A, why are you crying? Just because I didn't include you in one fight? It's not like it'll always-" Something cut me off, not sure what. "What do you even want?"

      She pouted at me, before saying, "...You."

      "What?!" I yelled. "A! You know we're being recorded right now?!" I shoved the recorder in her face. "You're too cheesy—stop saying things that can be misunderstood!"

      She burst into tears. "I don't care! I just want you to love me again!"

      I had no idea what she was talking about, and before I could figure out how to placate her,
      I woke up for real at 9:45.

      This entry is probably of lower quality compared to my others, my brain isn't working today.

      Oh, but the day after my chain of semi-lucids, I had a semi-semi-lucid where I successfully managed to teleport! Nice

      Was my birthday yesterday, fell asleep in a good mood

      I dreamed that I was at my workplace, but it was a different workplace and this old man accused me of filling the printer with goo or something despite the fact that I hadn't been to the office in a while.

      I then sit in an express bus driven by no one other than Tyler The Creator, who gets into a fist fight with an old man, different one from before, before telling the man to return to his place as we've almost reached our destination. Tyler then proudly shows us a pet bird he just adopted. We get dropped off in South East Amsterdam where everyone leaves into an apartment while an angry looking cat walks into my direction.
      I get into the apartment quick wondering how I'm getting to work tomorrow.

      I then woke up.
      Dream was in English, Tyler's part at least, and also in Dutch I think.

      The express bus was probably influenced by the fact I travelled to the Netherlands this weekend and on my way back someone got stabbed in the train and all other trains were cancelled because of it, after being stranded for three hours, an express bus picked us up snd brought us to a connecting station.
