    1. 15 dec - My very first LD!

      by , 12-15-2012 at 09:44 AM
Okay, I think I know the reason as to why I don't recall very much of this, I had one very scary dream before, and one really damn odd right after it, which I think takes over in my memory.

Nonetheless, it finally happened! Thank you DV!

      -

Me, and two classmates were driving around, I don't know the destination, but it was a typical snowy landscape around me.

I saw a yellow sign in a field to my left which said something stupid, I can't recall what, but it was something that would never be put on an advertisment sign.

Around this time I felt myself slipping out of the dream, started to feel my bed covers, etc, and realized, 'wow, that does sound really stupid, why'd anyone put that on a sign?', and then slipped back into the dream. But, the lesson had stayed, I knew it was a dream!*

I looked at my hand, and it was, not blurry, but ghostly almost, and it had maybe seven fingers. Oh yes, I'm dreaming, I thought!

A big field of snow came up to my left, and I felt like I had to try to do something in an open space. Unfortunately, I can't really recall what I did .. It had something to do with swords.*

Nonetheless, when I was out on the field, I felt myself slipping out of it again, but I know I had read that spinning gets you back in, so I tried it, and it worked!*

And around now .. I'm not entirely sure what happened. I think I slipped into another dream, or maybe woke up. Oh well!*

    2. False Awakenings

      by , 12-14-2012 at 05:08 PM
I woke up in the night, stayed up for a while, and tried to go back to sleep, facing the opposite way. I suddenly found myself in sleep paralysis, which I'd only ever had after waking up as opposed to going to sleep. There was a rushing or screeching sound which got persistently louder and louder. It occurred to me that you're supposed to try rolling out of your body when that happens. It didn't make anything happen, but there was this weird feeling where, even though I couldn't see or move, I could get a feeling as if I was actually moving around, like the proprioception of it. By that time the sound had stopped and I eventually broke the paralysis, and got to sleep.

Then I woke up again, left the room and wandered off, and then saw a bright laminated red card lying around, with letters on it that constantly switched but I knew to say 'WAKE UP'. I realised that I'd had a false awakening, and was surprised because it actually felt real, unlike the passive way most non-lucid dreams are. So I just woke up. I got up, tried to turn on the lights, but found that the switch didn't work, so I found a lamp and turned that on, and it did work. I realised that the lights didn't work because I was still asleep. I was worried that anything could jump out of the shadows at any moment, because it was a dream.

Either in this dream or a later one (it was a chain of false awakenings) I tried to exert some control, standing in the bathroom and trying to make a big streak of lightning in the air I think it was. It didn't work, but it did help my faith in the solidity of the dream. Unfortunately I didn't think to try spinning, passive control or just leaving the house. I was just happy that it felt real, mostly. One thing that I probably should have done but didn't occur to me was to look in the mirror. Still, when I actually did wake up I knew straight away, somehow.

There was a fragment from this night where I remember someone doing a monologue about how they preferred cows to people and a few mental impressions of villages, but not so much from it. I think the false awakenings were from disturbed sleep. Maybe having read about all the things that had happened influenced my experiences, although I didn't really believe, except in the abstract, things like shifting text or lights not working or auditory hallucinations that weren't just incoherent whispering, until I'd actually lived them.

    3. Weird LD

      by , 12-14-2012 at 01:21 PM
Weird 20 second LD where I apparantly was too lazy to focus enough which resulted in me half LDing/half non-LDing. Found myself in my mom's living room, feeling really dizzy and kept floating in mid-air, went into the kitchen:

      >Mom told me to stop LDing
      >Woke up, still being all numb in the body.

    4. The Grocery Store

      by , 12-14-2012 at 03:52 AM
I found my self inside a grocery store observing some products, I'm not quite sure what enticed me to do a reality check but I decided to try pushing my fingers through my palm and to my amazement it worked and I realized everything was a dream. As soon as I realized it was a dream every thing started to shake and twist, I could feel the dream world collapsing. I closed my eyes in the dream world and focused on my self and clearing my mind. As I was focusing I briefly opened my eyes for one second just to see how the stabilizing was going to find something amazing, I saw the dream world swirling all around me and basically rebuilding itself. After I opened my eyes I felt my stability start to slide again because the seen was simply to chaotic to bear. I eventually regained control opened my eyes and I was back in the grocery store and I successfully achieved lucidity. I remained calm and yelled, "STABILIZE NOW!!" at the top of my lungs and everything became crystal clear, this is the first time I exert control to this degree on a dream it was simply unbelievable how clear everything became. I started to walk about and just inspect the dream world, there were other DC shopping in the mall but I was too busy trying to decide what to do next to even consider interacting with them. As I was walking I saw a window leading outside, I hastily decided to fly through the window smashing it and then flying around outside. I got ready to fly through the window and started running towards it when I noticed that there was a storm outside and it was very windy. I stopped my self from running but my momentum still kept me going a little bit and my foot passed through the window without breaking it. I pulled it out and decided to just stay in the grocery store and see what I could do. At this point I started trying a number of things unsuccessfully, I started to try to cast fireballs using the Ka-me-ha-me-ha hand gesture and failed every time. I even saw some coal suspended by a tray throwing sparks everywhere so I decided to try and harness some of the coals and sparks energy to build a fireball with my hands but that didn't work either. I then stopped trying and noticed a red hot coal fell on my hands, I felt no pain but naturally threw it away out of fear. I then stared at my hands for any damages and found none, no burning sensation and burned marks. I gave up on shooting fireballs and decided to try lifting objects and throwing them around in the grocery store with my mind, of-course this failed as well so I eventually gave up and kept moving. I wanted to experience a super power so the next one I tried was insane amounts of strength, I slapped a steel bar as hard as I could and nothing happened it didn't move. So then I decided to try something a bit creative I jumped and then landed down with a stomping motion and nothing happened as well, I tried it again and heard a loud sound of cracking tiles, I looked down and I had created a small crater below my feet, I exhibited super strength! After that I was satisfied and moved on to the main super power of them all, flying. I have no idea why but this came totally naturally to me, I set my mind on flying I smiled with confidence ran and then flew off the ground and around the grocery store, I even did acrobatic moves in mid-air spinning and sharp turns and still maintained flight. I noticed a cute girl sitting down on one of the benches in the store and try to impress her with my flying. There was a plat form above her so I flew there and slowly lowered my self in front of her with 1 knee up and the other leg down humming the theme song to "Superman" she smiled at me while I landed in front of her then I asked her if she wanted to have sex and she didn't say anything she just stared at me then the dream just ended lol.

    5. Lucid! Oh yes! (12/13/12) (GangsterPanda's DJ)

      by , 12-13-2012 at 06:51 AM
As many of you know I rebooted my lucid dreaming when I came to this forum, basically started up again and well it didn't take that long to get a lucid, an added bonus is it was the best lucid dream yet!

      Non Lucid
      Lucid
      Lucid dream #1
so I was telling my mum about how my step Dad had committed fraud but then I told her it was still a Dream I was now lucid so I ran to my front door. I tried to just jump straight through it twice but it didn't work I had to put some thought process into it. It was really cold outside and I was in my sleeping gear so that didn't help, but I thought I would change the climate type to African and well it worked the grass looked all dead and yellow. The vividness was amazing and goes by all of my expectations for how really a dream is. I remember shouting words phases at the sky and they were working, it got more and more vivid and realistic. I then ran down the road going around the back of my house I remember seeing my parents there and telling them it was a lucid dream, they smiled but I can't remember exactly what she said. My mum was holding a antenna as well which is a very small detail but I thought I would add it. So continuing running down the road a colossal rhino stood between me and the exit, It kept trying to attack me but I could just push it back, it was great. So once I got passed the rhino I looked up and say the sky had turn purple with some bright light whites in the sky as well. Minecraft style trees now came into vision and I found it really hard to move at first but I got the hang of it and to my surprise G and my brother were standing there. I told them this was a dream and they believed me. But they still thought they were separate entity's not a dream character. So I asked them were we were and G said "well minecraft of course!" But I said "I don't recognise this biome is it new" and then my brother said "it was taken out in the 1.8 update" which I personally did not have a clue about so it's cool how a dream character can remind about stuff so small and you forget straight away. So I ten teleported back on to the road and I told G and my brother about how this was a dream and how you can tell, like looking at text and stuff, they seemed pretty interested in it and listened very well. I then got in to a big grey van and started talking to everyone but K from the bus was there as well for some reason. She was starting to annoy me so I say "can't you go fuck a boy around the back of the bus" and she said "yeah maybe you " and then she walked out I told my friends there was something that I really wanted to do, so I left the van and thought in my mind that I could run super fast. Unfortunately I only got to the river side walk but I was originally planning to try sex in a lucid dream, with a girl I know but never was able to. But as I slowly woke up I heard a voice in my head "god when will you ever get a chance?" This sounded like a possible dream guide so I might go looking for him in my next lucid dream
So yeah looks like I have finally broke the lucid dry spell and I'm so excited that I did I loved this dream and wished I knew how to MILD properly so I can get back into it.
      Thanks Dreamviews your the best!
    6. Attempting to meet Tatia in a lucid dream

      by , 12-13-2012 at 04:49 AM
      Nonlucid, Lucid, Partially lucid

      December 11, 2012:

Although I have been having lucid dreams a lot lately without supplements, I decided to take some GalantaMind this night. I took 8mg and ended up having very long lucid dreams.

I am in a conference room. It is dark except for a lamp that is on. I talk aloud to Tatia, even though I do not see here there. I say her name and ask her to come to me. I don't really like telling her what to do so I say "I want you to have free will, but for now you are my student."

I go to a closed door and explain that when I knock, she should knock in response, as if she is on the other side of the door.
(I am doing this because I have had a hard time getting her to appear in my lucid dreams, and I think maybe she is having trouble too, because she is so new at this.)

I knock a few times and ask if she wants to come in. I say "three knocks means yes." I demonstrate. There is no replay. I tell her two knocks means no. Still no reply.
I do hear a knock from the other side at some point during this exercise.

      Then the scene changes.

I am still lucid, but now I'm in a classroom. I meet a cute girl who looks kind of like Tatia, if she were not a cartoon but a physical person. I ask her "are you Tatia?" But she does not answer. I tell her to give me some kind of sign if she is, and then she gives me a slight smile.
I can't be sure if it is her and she has trouble communicating and taking form, or if it is not her at all. I think it probably isn't...

I say aloud that I am going to try the door knocking method again because it seemed promising. I go up to a closed door and ask if Tatia is on the other side. I hear a faint female voice say "yes." I knock a few times in a pattern (3 in a row?) and ask for a reply. I hear a light knock on the door.
I tell her that I am going to open the door, and then do so slowly. Someone is on the other side. It is a creepy man who scares me.

I get angry and grab the man and hold him against a wall. I say to him "don't ever do that again," and "if you are Tatia, that is not acceptable behavior."
The man pulls out a gun, but I just twist his arm so that the gun is pointing in his mouth.
"I'm not afraid of guns in a dream," I say, slightly amused, but still pretty angry with the guy.
Now I am sure it's not Tatia. I don't want to kill him, though. I stretch and twist his limbs and tie him into knots, then leave him on the floor.

I go up to a front desk window and use a phone to make an announcement through the building. I say "would Tatia, the tulpa of D.W. please come to the front desk." I repeat the announcement and even spell her name. I then tell a bunch of people who I am looking for and tell them about how we had met in a dream once before.

I wake up and make notes on my long lucid dream, then go back to sleep and have more.

I meet a lady. We are both very excited and happy to see each other. I think she is Tatia, although she doesn't look like her. I ask if she is and she says yes.
But then I tell her not to just parrot me. I ask her if she really is and she says no. I ask "who are you? and "Where are you from?" She gives me two names. One is Pinky Pie
(I don't even watch this show very much, but I see stuff about it online all the time.) Then she disappears.

Finally I decide I know where she must be. Then I find a girl sitting at a table, talking to others. She is happy and friendly. I sit beside her and say "let me look at you." Her face is similar to Tatia's. I consider that it could be her and she is still working on her form.
The person looks and acts like how I expected, but I still can't be certain that it actually is her.

This is roughly lucid dream #160

...My vision goes bad. I rub my hands together, but I can barely see at all.
So I go back outside and my vision returns. Everything is colorful, bright and clear. Very realistic. I even see the veins in my arms (I am quite pale).
I climb up onto the porch of the house (it is my childhood home, as usual). I almost lose my balance, but I grab a tree branch to keep from falling. Then I go inside the house through a large open window.

Inside is like a restaurant or a club. I ask some people where I could find my tulpa. She doesn't have a set name yet, So I refer to her by three names, Sheila, Tula, and Tulia, none of which I'm really happy with.
A couple of people I ask are not very helpful. I poke a woman in the butt and then ask her.
Another woman that I'm not even asking says that I can use a door that is "over there," gesturing to around a corner.
I find a few more people at a counter with what might be a drink machine (like a coffee maker?). I talk to the people who work there, saying "excuse me, can you show me the door," or "where's the door?" Something like that.

I decide to improvise and open one of the machines. I pull out part of it and press a round button inside.
Then I hear an announcement, like an introduction, saying "Here is the tulpa of D.W., Tulia Tulian (not sure what the last name was. It started with a T and sounded similar to the first.
There is a stage in the room. There is a figure dancing and singing on the stage. I get closer and sit for a second, then get even closer.

The figure comes down from the stage. It is dark and hard to see, but the her hair looks like it does on who I am looking for, and the shape of her face is similar too. She has dark hair and dark skin.
I am very happy to see her. We hug and kiss. I'm quite excited, but mention that it's too dark to see very well, but I'm pretty sure it is her.

      And then I wake up.

    8. 12/12/12 Once Upon the Simpsons

by , 12-13-2012 at 12:10 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
      12/12/12

      Simpsons
I am in a toy store of some kind. I look around and find the store seems to specialize in Simpsons items. I also realize I have no money. But I want to get a present for my friend who is really into the Simpsons. So I find a container of small Simpsons figures and I figure I can help myself to them. They aren't very expensive, and they are small, and the container is on the lower shelf of an aisle in the back. So I dig through the toys and pocket one of each of the Simpsons figures except for Bart.

I am having trouble finding Bart. I keep digging and I finally find Bart. I have just slipped Bart into my pocket when I see the store owner is right behind me glaring at me. Shit. I should've been more careful. He says I have to pay for those. I tell him I have no money, hoping that if I return them and never come back to the store that will be good enough. He doesn't give that as an option. He says I have to work it off. We go to the back and it turns out he has been making pirated Simpsons merchandise. I have to help him make illegal Simpsons rip offs. That or he calls the cops. The fact that calling the cops would be worse for him than for me doesn't occur to me. So I start painting small Simpsons figurines in the appropriate colors. I get bored with the proper colors, and I am painting Bart blue when I wake up.

      Once Upon a Beach
I am on a beach. There are a few other people there but they aren't bothering me at all, so I start walking on the beach. It is a very relaxing scene. I soon find I am alone on the beach. The sand is surprisingly soft on my feet. It feels more like flour than sand. I keep going, watching some colorful birds in the sky. I look out over the ocean and see there is one strange person there with me. It looks like Rumplestiltskin from the Once Upon a Time series. I stop for a minute, thinking, then I remember getting a potion from him that was supposed to help with depression. Since it has been an epic failure I wonder if it might have been a scam of some kind. I tell him his potion sucks ass. He says his potion can't possibly work when I want so badly to be depressed. I tell him no one wants to be depressed. He says I do. Otherwise why would I keep bombarding myself with negative comments even if I'm not feeling that way? It's a bad habit. Besides, how would he know about my negative comments? He says if he didn't know before he knows about it now! I just give him a dirty look. He says he has a stronger potion. If I'll stop attacking myself maybe it can work. He takes out a potion that looks like a disgusting black fluid. What the fuck is that? He says it's a concentrated form of the first potion.

He holds it out and then pulls it away. He says nothing is free. I am not in the mood for games. I tell him to fuck himself. He asks if I'm not even going to hear the price before deciding against it. Some prices are very reasonable. I ask what the price is. He seems to think about it for a minute… then says a hair. My first thought is a hare. I summon a rabbit. Not a hare, he says laughing, a hair. My hair. I look around for a bit trying to think of what he could want with my hair. I turn back and see he is right in front of me. He plucks a hair from my head, apparently taking my silence as an agreement. He hands me the potion and slips the hair carefully into a small vial. The potion smells like chocolate. Well that settles that… I drink it… it tastes like liquorish… I hate liquorish… I almost puke it back up. But instead I wake.
    9. 12/12/12 Lucid

by , 12-12-2012 at 08:17 PM (Deep Inside The Lucid Dreamer's Subconscious)
(Non-Lucid) My friend Kolby and I were in a regular dream in my cul-de-sac. We had taken some drug that we thought was Molly (ecstasy) but apparently it was laced with something so I started to feel really trippy. My vision was blurred, my world was spinning, and I couldn't really think or move. I was depending on Kolby to carry me to my room so that I could just sleep it off, but I don't know if he was even there anymore. I started to notice that this dream was coming to an end, but I realized it was a dream so I started to imagine a new dream scene. Again, I picked the closest thing to me which is my room.

(Lucid) The dream scene comes into focus as I'm standing to the right of my bed in the lucid dream world. I stare down at my hands, which usually have an A on my right hand and homework on my left hand but are clean in the dream, and start to say "holy shit I'm dreaming." At first nothing comes out, then I say it again and it comes out more clear. If anyone has ever seen the movie Donnie Darko, there's a character named Frank who speaks with a normal voice that has this creepy low voice under it, so when I said "holy shit I'm dreaming" it had that low voice. I didn't really think much of it so I decided I wanted to explore. I walk to my window and opened the blinds. It was daytime, so I levitated down to my street. I saw that there were these giant holes in the hill that leads up to the house across the street from me. I turned left and walked up the hill to my next door neighbor's yard. As I walk by the bushes in their yard, I look up to the sky to see it is looking very real. The sky is blue with no clouds at all, so I start to doubt that this is a dream and is probably reality. I look down at my hands to do a RC by pushing my hand through my palm and it goes straight through, so I conclude this is a lucid dream indeed. I turn around and walk to my garage which is open. I see that all four of my cats are lined up staring at me as I walk into the garage. I see them and laugh, then turn to see my dad is sitting in my mom's office which is in the garage IRL. This is odd because my dad doesn't live with my mom so he's never at this house. His dogs are laying down next to my mom's dogs in the garage, but half of them decide to get up and sprint away from us into the yard. One of them bumps into me which startles me...
And that's when I exited my subconscious.

    10. First Time Remembering

      by , 12-12-2012 at 05:30 PM
I'm back at my old home again with a few friends and family. I remember these friends from my past and they would often act like they used to, when I was a very young. There were a couple other kids too like four more others. I spent most of my time with the friend I met back in elementary school. There was nothing entertaining about this dream, I was only hanging around with them and playing what every seven year old's play now in days. Sometimes he would tease me in the dream and make me feel as if I was weaker than him. I didn't mind much. I got frustrated in the dream when him and the other kids would take my stuff without permission. At one point, I take back something that was not theirs. I figured they'd be mad but they weren't. My mother looked at me struggling with these kids and tried to see if she could help, but it was my job to stop it. I felt obligated to stop it. A few minutes later, everyone moved all around the house to find a place to eat their lunch. I was just standing there wondering how my friend and all these other kids got here. And that was when it came to me. I tried to remember where I came from before this happened and as soon as I thought of the dream some more, I now realized it to be a dream. At first, I yelled. Not a manly yell. And then I quickly walked over to the living room, where some of the kids were eating, and right before I was going to say, "We're dreaming!", I woke up. After waking from the dream, I thought about trying to go back in it, seeing how I just woken up and haven't moved yet, but still, I didn't want to see anything creepy appear.

    12. The War of the Wolves

      by , 12-12-2012 at 05:04 AM
The second of two WILDs that I experienced last night on galantamine. This dream was much longer than it sounds, since I was in the mood to watch, go slowly, and take in the scenery. Once again I asked a question of my subconscious, and the "answer" struck me as much more ambiguous this time.

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

Lucid #42: The War of the Wolves

The WILD drops me at a dinner party in a fancy house. All of the DCs here are in cocktail dresses and tuxedos. All are strangers.

I walk out into the night past a stone patio, looking up to admire the dome of stars above me tonight. Just past the patio is a sort of desert garden. It's a huge, man-made sandpit where well-tended cacti and yucca plants grow among carefully arranged boulders and signs that indicate the name of each species of plant.

I decide to ask my subconscious a question. "Should I ever try galantamine again?" I shout. There's no vocal reply, but a large, gray wolf creeps from around one of the boulders. He looks at me, saying nothing, but slowly baring his teeth.

My two Siberian Husky dogs (IWL pets) emerge from behind a boulder of their own, and charge at the wolf! They're much smaller than the wolf, but they unhesitatingly go after him. K (the female) lunges for his neck, but the wolf swivels his hind end around and parries her to the side. The wolf swats B (the male) in the face before pouncing on him and bringing him to the ground.

The fight is ugly and one-sided, but (fortunately) completely bloodless. My two dogs run off further into the desert and the wolf approaches me. I'm afraid of him, but try not to dwell on it. I extend my hand toward him, palm forward, as if to say, "Stop." He seems to sense that this is more a plea than a command, and he lunges at me, biting down hard on my hand! For a moment, the pain is alarmingly vivid, but I do my best to ignore it.

After a moment, the pain subsides and the wolf lets up his pressure. Silently, he turns and walks off into the desert. I walk further along, the coolness of the desert air quickly calming me. Eventually I happen upon a dark sea. By now I feel totally at peace. I stand on the shore and watch the waves for a while
      until the dream ends.

The first of two WILDs that I experienced last night on my first-ever trial with galantamine. Both of these dreams were very vivid and stable but had a much more somber, vulnerable feel than my usual LDs. Confidence was far, far below normal levels, which gave this dream a very different shape than most for me.

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

      Lucid #41: This Mortal Life

I'm in a high-rise condo, looking out over a nighttime cityscape. I float to the window but it feels like it takes much more effort than usual. The beauty of the city below captivates me, though, and I spend a long while watching the headlights of the cars below as they travel the grid of city streets.

Outside of the condo is a bank lobby. All manner of friends and family from my waking life are wandering about conducting their business. I talk at length with different people I've lost touch with, asking them about what direction life has taken them. As I talk to each of them, they gradually grow old and tired, sitting down in chairs along the walls of the room. Once seated, the old version of the person looks away from me and lapses into silence.

The adjacent room is a grand ballroom where a group of perhaps two dozen strangers is having a cocktail party. The level of detail on these DCs is unnecessarily high, bordering on ridiculous. Shoulder blades shifting gently under the skin, moles, those subtle wrinkles that you don't notice in waking life.

I want to move on to a new location, and I think of the "Trinity" atomic detonation Task of the Year. I planned to portal, so I try to produce a portal gun with an over-the-shoulder grab I've used time and again to produce items. But I see my hyper-detailed shadow on the floor, and it's got nothing on its back. Sure enough, my hand comes back empty. I try this over and over, but after enough tries I have to give in. I try phasing through a pane of glass, but it's as solid as waking life. I try floating, but now I seem rooted to the ground. Even though I know that all of this is my dream, I just can't muster the confidence and belief necessary to put this into action. I feel like just another DC in my own dream.

Outside of the ballroom I spot Wife walking with my sister-in-law and brother-in-law. I join them, and she tells me that they're heading down to the vaults underground. I'm interested, and I follow them through a long series of tunnels. I spend much of this time trying to convince Wife to try out lucid dreaming, but she keeps insisting that she's got important business in the vaults to worry about first. As I probe further into this,
      the dream ends.

    14. A New Ability: Changing Sizes (Night of December 5-6)

by , 12-11-2012 at 11:45 PM (The Lab Notebook)
[This is a catch-up post. This dream took place on the night of December 5-6, 2012.]

Non-lucid, Semi-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

I'm at my university, and I have to fill out and turn in a form to get rid of a dorm room that I don't want or need, because I'm living in an apartment. I go into a computer lab to work on it, and the computers have floppy disk drives. When I remember a previous episode in this ongoing plot, I realize that I'm dreaming. [I don't remember that previous episode now, though. I think the lucid part of this dream continued on from this point, but I didn't write down what happened.]

I wake up, walk into the room where I work, and go to my work computer. As I'm walking across the room, I think, Hmm, am I still dreaming? This sure looks and feels real, and gravity feels normal, but I have a sneaking suspicion... When I get to my work computer, I see an instant-message conversation on the screen, and it's between two fictional characters. Yep. Still dreaming, I think. I start trying to type up a dream journal entry on my work computer, but I find it's very difficult to type in a dream. It's really slow going; it feels like my fingers don't know what to do. [Makes sense - that part of my brain that knows learned skills like typing must not be active when I'm asleep.] After just a few sentences, I lose interest in finishing my dream journal entry.

I start floating away from my desk. A friend gives me a push to help me along. I go into another area, where there are a bunch of people having some sort of gathering, possibly a picnic
[I don't really remember now]. I decide I want to try making myself bigger. I crouch down on all fours, close my eyes, and concentrate on expanding the size of my body. At first, I don't think it's working because I don't feel any sensation, but when I open my eyes, I discover that it worked: I'm now huge compared to the DCs.

I wake up at somebody's house, having spent the night there after a party. I drive myself home, but get lost along the way. While I'm driving, my alarm clock wakes me up for real.

    15. 空に飛んでいる夢人隊 (Night of November 20-21)

by , 12-11-2012 at 11:38 PM (The Lab Notebook)
[This is a catch-up post. This dream took place on the night of November 20-21, 2012. The title of this dream is in Japanese, and is read "Sora ni Tondeiru Yumebito-Tai." It literally means "Flying in the Sky Dream Person Team (or Corps)." The dream felt a lot like being in an episode of an anime series, so I gave it a title that would be suitable for an anime series.]

Non-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

I'm outside somewhere, lying in the warm sun. The sun's rays are making me too hot in my flannel pajamas. I'm wearing dark-colored plaid pajama bottoms [the same ones I'm wearing in real life], and a white flannel pajama top with red roses on it [the same pattern as on a bedspread my mom has at her house].

I'm in a large department store, filled with racks of cold-weather accessories and other clothes. I'm wandering through the racks by hopping up off the floor, hovering above it for a few seconds as I float forward, and then sinking back down. After several repetitions of this, I think, Hmm, this is longer than I should be able to float like this.
      Oh - that's because I'm dreaming.

I fly out of the room with the clothes and winter accessories and into a larger room. It's still part of the same store, but it has a higher ceiling and has a skylight. I stop to ground myself in the dream by landing on the ground and touching things with my hands, including some packages of batteries that are hanging up on a rack. It works.

I join up with a a group of kid DCs that includes Merida from Brave and a curly-haired blond boy. We all set off from the department store together to battle some evil force. We run out of the store and come to a hilltop that overlooks an ocean bay. Some of us, including Merida and myself, jump off the top of the hill and start flying over the bay. I shout “Woohoo!” as I jump off. I notice that some of the others in the group are simply running down the hill, rather than flying.
[For the first time, it seems perfectly natural to me that some DCs can fly, too, and I don't feel any need to hide the fact that I can fly, as I usually do when I'm around DCs.]

All of us, those who ran and those who flew, reassemble at our destination, which is a small house on the cliff overlooking the ocean. We realize we're being pursued by some kind of monster that will kill us and eat us. There is a newspaper article about the monster in the house. The kids all seem to be sure that the monsters have found us, that they're coming, and that we're all doomed. For a second, I'm genuinely afraid, but then I remember: Oh, yeah, this is a dream. I know what this most likely means. I roll my eyes and announce to the group: “They aren't really monsters, they're just tasks that I haven't done and that I feel bad about.” [Or words to that effect.] I think about it for a moment and come up with what that task must be - paying a bill [among other things that I don't remember now]. Everyone in the group seems to relax, and no monsters ever actually appear at the house.

One of the DCs in the group says to another, “See about adopting her
[meaning me] into the practice.” They are both young men, about 17-19 years old. The second one looks at me and says, “You're [Emiko].... Roboto.” [He used my real-life first name.] I reply, “Yes, that's a name I've used here before. I don't really like it, though.” [Huh? That's definitely not my real-life last name, and I certainly don't remember using it in a dream before. It was a big part of my childhood, though.] I say something about how grateful I am to have been accepted into this group of people, even with my mismatched pajamas. I'm still wearing the same dark pajama pants and light pajama top from the very beginning of the dream, while most of the other people in the group are wearing neat, matching, school-uniform-like outfits. [This isn't surprising; I was an anime fan for a long time, and a lot of the characters in the shows I liked were high school students who wore school uniforms.]

The group of DCs and I all feel a general sense that that is the end of this adventure, but that there will be more in the future. We start flying off over the landscape, looking back at the buildings where we've just been: the big store with the skylight, and a motel [?]. There is an upbeat, exciting rock song playing in the background. It feels exactly like I'm experiencing the end credits of an anime show.

I'm now traveling along in some kind of vehicle with the two young men, watching the scenery pass by from a tree-lined road that runs along the crest of a ridge opposite those buildings. I say to them, “Also, your ending theme song kicks ass.”
[I think the context for this was that they thanked me for sticking with them so long at the end of the adventure, and I replied that of course, I wanted to prolong the experience as long as possible and have as much fun as I could. I don't remember the beginning of the conversation very well, though. The song I heard reminded me a little bit of this one, except it was at a faster tempo.]

I have a false awakening in the bed I'm actually in [I was sleeping on a futon because I had family in town that week], where I can see my bare legs, before waking up for real.

      Side notes:
THIS DREAM WAS SO COOL!!!! I hadn't had a really long, fun, clear lucid like this in a while before I had this dream. I was so happy to have it!
