    1. August 5 Notes

      by , 08-06-2012 at 06:14 AM
      8:00 - Go shoot hoops
9:15 - Ride my motorcycle a couple miles to cool off
9:30 - Come back in and have OJ, Grape juice, milk, and banana
10:00 - Get ready for bed
10:30 - Get on DV and update DJ
11:00 - Go to bed with binaural beats
2:30 - Wake up, make recording, got back to sleep for another REM cycle
4:15 - Wake up again, make recording, start alarm
4:25 - Alarm goes off, I remember dream and have WILD
      7:30 - Get up

Well, another successful WILD!!! The binaural beats are AWESOME and when coupled with that alarm... WILD's are a piece o' cake. That is, when my mp3 player doesn't glitch out and shut off randomly. It's probably time for a new one, lol.

      See ya

    2. Proximity of Moment of Lucidity to Time of Falling Asleep

      by , 08-04-2012 at 05:01 PM
My alarm went off at 7:30, I called Kaia right as it did. Then I made a 1.5 minute audio recording of my dreams throughout the night up to that point. My next alarm was scheduled for 7:35, and I probably went to sleep at 7:32. The lucid scenario occurred within three minutes of falling asleep.

Well, after another one of those mini-buisness trips, I just got back a few hours ago. The trip though is where I had 4 of the 5 of the dreams I just posted. I was able to go to bed at 10:00, and sleep in until 9:00!! THis helped enormously with dream recall, as I wasn't rushed to go to work or anything.

I am also very close to one of my biggest dream goals / desires so I am really determined for it to finally happen next lucid!!!! (don't bother asking though cause I won't tell you. lol)

Also, one of those dreams was very interesting because it was about the shared dreaming project. I am really starting to wonder if it is seriously possible, which would be very cool.

Well, that's about all for now.

      See ya

    4. Summer Camp

by , 08-01-2012 at 09:55 PM (Fennecgirl's Collection of Dreams)
I know, I should be posting more dreams and details here each day. I guess I should try to get up earlier so I can actually update my dream journal BEFORE camp tomorrow. I'm actually doing two summer camps this week - Earth Camp, taking up most of my day, and then music theory camp in the evening.

Anyway, since I've been so busy between both camps, last night, I dreamt that I was doing complicated chord analysis... at Earth Camp. I also had a few completely unrelated dreams, one of which included a TARDIS replica.

So, yeah, I'll try to get up earlier tomorrow.
    5. No dreams recalled :(

      by , 08-01-2012 at 08:55 AM
Okay so I suppose this is day 2 of really getting back into lucid dreaming and it's like I'm having to learn it all again. I don't mind this because learning was a fun and interesting experience but I wouldn't mind starting where I left off a month ago. Oh well hopefully my recall will return tonight!

There is one thing that's going to change now though, this dream journal will be updated everyday whether I had a lucid or not.

    6. July 31 Notes

      by , 08-01-2012 at 07:17 AM
Well, I decided to mix up my routine a little bit and have my nightly juic, milk, and banana, AFTER basketball.

      8:30 - Go shoot hoops
10:00 - Come back in and have OJ, Apple Juice, milk, and banana. Get ready for bed
11:00 - Vitamins with glass of water
11:15 - Go to bed with binaural beats
2:30 - Wake up and begin second sleep cycle
4:30 - Wake up again and get ready to start alarm... put in earbuds and fall asleep. *facepalm*
      8:00 - Get up

So ya, I had a bunch of dreams in that time period where I SHOULD OF started the alarm, and it would of been an excellent opportunity for another WILD. Grrr... can't believe that happened. Oh well...

    7. Silence is a Virtue

by , 07-31-2012 at 09:15 PM (Sleep as a Hobby)

A day is cold; a girl can see her own breath of life.
A dusty glass window beside is covered with frost,
A little girl not older than ten is locked outside on a veranda.

The sky is darkening to icy blue
It is reaching for her; a cold thing, a dark thing.
Hands as white as bone and snow
She crouches and clenches her legs tightly
Warmth sieves through her claws like desert sand.

      Whimpering,
She desperately bangs a glass… locked door beside.
Daddy, let me out! I won’t cry, let me out!
      Is he sleeping?

Her runny nose is red like Rudolf,
Not Santa, she whispers herself, not Santa.
Clever girl knows it was her dad dressed in Santa.

Shivering, she punches a sliding glass door, bang.
Making noise might wake him up.

But… she drops her hand feebly.
He hates noise; he hates a child crying like a child.
A bitter dry cold was too much for a little girl.
Her body is numbing with stiff pain and blue,
Her thumbs have dry crevices trickling with blood.

He won’t let me out, till I give the right answer.
      Silence will unleash the sentence
The obedient girl keeps her breath as silent as possible.

      Santa doesn't like crying kids.
Only the dripping sound of tears fills the air

      Daddy let me out.

    8. Toys?!/Self Reminder

      by , 07-31-2012 at 05:37 PM
I've been keeping my guard up since I've started, it's no surprise to me really, I just find it kind of funny that I happen to have toys and action figures as one of my dream signs. It's either toys or cartoon characters that still hold a spot as my dream signs. As for Master Mind's technique, I'm getting better recall, and I'm still seeing the transition from one dream to the next. In fact, I had a bad night the previous night because of heat. But I see another trend starting to form. I always knew it was there but I could never put the two dreams together, the transition would sever them and keep me from ever putting the two dreams together in relation to plot, only bits and pieces would come up, if I was even lucky to have that. So now I got one month to go, and as a reminder to my future self, should I get discouraged if I'm not happy with where I'm at: Set another 2 months and try again! It's summer! You hate Summer! If you get discouraged then just know you'll do better toward the Fall and Winter seasons.
    9. July 30 Notes

      by , 07-30-2012 at 03:43 PM
Last night I was able to go through my normal routine again but it didn't go so well in terms of dreams.

8:30 - Finish OJ, Cutie's juice, Apple juice, milk, banana, one bite of apple that turned out to be incredibly sour. - Go outside and shoot hoops
      10:00 - Come back inside
10:30 - Get ready for bed
11:00 - Vitamins with glass of water
11:15 - Go to bed with binaural beats
      8:00 - Wake up

So for some reason last night my mp3 player glitched out or something because when I woke up this morning, it was turned off. Now I know last night I put the 'hold' slide on so I know I didn't roll over and turn it off or anything. Also, when I restarted it this moning, it defaulted to the song first in alphabetical order, instead of my sleeping playlist. So ya, maybe I need a new mp3 player if it does this again because I really hate losing a perfectly good night of sleep where I could of had dreams but now I can't remember anything because of that.

Oh well, that's what tonight is for.

      by , 07-30-2012 at 06:30 AM
Well, I just got back from another of my weekly buisness trips. Man these trups are really killing my dreaming attempts. Anyways, now I am back however and going to go work on some more WILD's!
By the way, now instead of drinking orange juice at night, I found Cutie's juice! It is actually pretty tasty and a little better than OJ I think. (ok, that was random)

Sorry for kind of making a pointless short Dj entry but I felt like I might as well put something down now that I am back.

      See ya.

    11. Nightmare: A Shooter in an Office Building

by , 07-30-2012 at 04:56 AM (The Lab Notebook)
[TRIGGER WARNING: This journal entry contains content that recalls the shootings in Aurora, CO. Reader discretion is advised.]

Non-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

I'm on the second floor of a big office building, and I take the elevator down to the first floor. There are a lot of other people in the elevator with me. I get an odd feeling that something big and important is about to happen in just a few moments.

I exit the elevator and walk out into the ground-floor lobby of the building. It's a large space with lots of glass that lets in sunlight, and there are lots of people walking through the lobby, going in all directions.

Suddenly, a man with some kind of small-to-medium-sized automatic weapon fires a short burst of gunfire into the air, in the middle of the room. Everyone in the lobby panics and tries to take cover, including me.
[I know this nightmare was inspired directly by the recent Aurora theater shooting tragedy.] As the gunman continues shooting random people in the room, I hide under a long, low, rectangular wooden table with another young woman, about my own age, with brown hair. She and I whisper to each other about how this isn't very good cover, and how he's going to find us here any moment know. We're right - he does find us there, and threatens us with the firearm. I'm terrified that I'm about to be killed. Fortunately, I realize that I'm dreaming, and that that means I can just fly away. So I do. I fly away from the gunman in a straight line, passing right through the wall of the building without even realizing that I've done so until I'm well outside the building. When I'm some distance away, I look back at the tall office building I just left. I'm far enough away that the gunman is now little more than a dot, still visible through the windows.

[There was more to this dream; I went on to explore the rest of the dream while lucid, but I don't remember any of the specifics.]

      ****************
      Side notes:
*derisive snort* And I call myself an oneironaut! I was having a nightmare, I became lucid, and I just used my dream control abilities to run away from the danger. Next time I go lucid during a nightmare, I will try to remember to stand up to the threat and talk it down.

By the way, I had this dream at a hotel, on Night #1 of my big relocation road trip.
    12. Conquering the Baseball Backstop At Last

by , 07-30-2012 at 04:49 AM (The Lab Notebook)
[This is a catchup post. I had this dream on the night of July 18, 2012, but I'm just now getting around to posting it.]

Non-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

I'm in [or outside - not sure] House #1, and I become aware that I'm dreaming. I think, Hey, cool! This would be a great opportunity to go and achieve that goal! So I take off and start flying, keeping very low to the ground [I don't know why] , following the roads that lead from my house to the nearby park. I make a point of concentrating on the dream world around me, to keep myself in the dream. [I think] There's a moment where I briefly become aware of my body lying in bed, but I forcibly drag my awareness back to the dream and manage to stay in it. [It may have been after this next part, I'm not sure.]

Anyway, I turn up the road that leads to the park, and there it is: the metal, chain-link, curved baseball backstop, the one I've been fantasizing about flying to the top of since I was a little girl. I come to the center of the back of it and start flying up, following its curve, but inexplicably sink back down to the ground. I shrug and decide to just climb the thing instead. It works. I'm up at the top in just a couple of seconds. I stand on top of the baseball backstop, surveying the park and feeling very proud of myself for finally getting to the top of my baseball backstop in a lucid dream.

      ***********
      Side notes:
Every time I have a lucid dream, I always start my day in a great mood, with the attitude that today is going to be a great day. On the day after I woke up from this particular dream, I finally received and accepted the job offer I'd spent years waiting and hoping for. Does it mean anything? I'm not willing to say yes, but it's interesting.
    13. Discovery channel dream

      by , 07-30-2012 at 02:36 AM (Life's Dream Accounts)
I had a dream while I was taking a REALLY long nap today. I had finally fallen asleep and I was swimming underwater.

It was like I was just swimming and swimming for hours without worrying about harm or anything. It was kind of fun.

But then near the end of the dream I found out I was both watching and in a discovery channel documentary. There was this huge shark fish attacking a boat. I was thinking "Sharks don't do this in general, do they?" and then the guy who was narrating the show said "no, but watch this" he this like nothing was going to happen to the people on the boat. Then what happened was this fish knocked the boat so a human fell out. I was watching this from beneath the ocean floor but all this seemed all very close. The fish then swam up to the person and ate him but it was all blurred out by ocean floor sand. The narrator then closed the show by saying "next up on how in the world did that happen" like that was the name of the show I was watching. I then swam up a little higher and realized there were these fish by plants or coral reefs. I told them to "move!" like they were in the way of some great movie.

Notes: The giant shark fish kinda looked like a shark with a Merlin appearance but still had eager eyes of a shark and it was kinda fat.
Also I have had a lot of ocean dreams before, but this one was one the vivid end of dreams of the ocean.

    14. Side Note

      by , 07-29-2012 at 10:07 PM
Attempted to WILD last night at the beginning of my sleep. I felt like I was moving into the state. Body started pulsing and shaking, whole body felt cold and extremities were basically non-existent, tunnel hearing, I was making progress. Then my body just forced me do some kind of weird swallow thing, and it started to fade. I plateaued in a physical and mental state that was nothing like my normal waking state, but where I was no long making progress towards a conscious sleeping state. I attempted this at 6:30 in the morning. Gave up at about 7:15, I believe. I had been on the dream view IRC for a while talking before that to Vortaix, RealDealMagic, Xyvoch and Paige.
