    1. Lucid Dream 211: Kazaana!!!

      Lucid Dream 211: Kazaana!!!

      around 8:30am



      Me, Cliff, Deej, and Mike were on top of a ridge, deep in the mountains. We knew we were being followed. I noticed someone all the way across the valley. I told Cliff to hand me the rifle he was carrying. He said, "Ok, but there is no way you can hit him from this far away." I took the rifle and laid down in a sniper position. The target was running. I compensated for the distance (drop of the bullet), the wind, and the targets movement in my aim. I then fired a shot and watched. The target dropped to the ground a few minutes later and I knew I had nailed him. It was an impossible shot. I noticed a ton of people down in the valley. They started spraying AK rounds at us. We took off running through the woods and ended up at a log cabin.

      We entered the cabin to find Randy Couture waiting on us. He was in black mercenary type gear. We talked for a bit and I somehow realized he was a traitor and was trying to set us up. He pulled out a gun, but I swiftly kicked it from his hand. We fought for a bit and I knew I was over matched. There was an old school wood stove with a set of iron tongs sticking out of it. I grabbed the tongs and pulled them from the stove. The opposite end of the handle was orange from sitting in the fire. I closed the tongs on Randy's face and buckled him to his knees. I then stole his combat knife and slit his throat. he started coughing up blood and then fell over. I instantly became lucid after this.

      The dream scene had completely changed and I was in a parking lot with Deej. I told him, "Let's go ghost hunting!" In high school all of us would go visit so called, "haunted" places and film it on my old palmcorder. Deej gestured for me to follow him to his truck. We hopped in and took off driving. Deej wasn't following the roads at all. We drove through yards, fields, and wooded areas. Finally, I decided to speed things up. I told him I would fly the car and he could navigate.

      I lifted the car into the air and moments later he told me to land it beside an old mansion. I looked down below and saw a huge manor. I landed the car in the front yard and there was a sign that said, "Oak Ridge Manor." I walked up to the door and kicked it open. I got a pretty creepy feeling. I had decided how I wanted to imprison the ghosts. I felt around my pocket and imagined prayer beads. I felt them and pulled them out. I performed the finger through the palm RC. When my finger inserted into my palm, I swirled it around and created a hole in my hand. Suddenly, a massive force began swirling in the hole. I quickly wrapped the prayer beads around my hand to stop it. I then walked into the house.

      Deej started a sinister laugh. I turned and saw that his eyes were blood red. He slammed the door shut and I heard him lock me in. I laughed at the thought of being stopped by a door lock, but continued through the mansion. I exit the small waiting room and was now in a large grand hall. The room suddenly lit up bright and then began to flicker from a bright room to complete darkness. I heard weird screams and noises that sounded kind of like monkeys. Suddenly, these weird monkey/human hybrids came flying out from the walls. They were all ghosts and had bat-like wings. There were statues and vases lined up around the great hall and the monkey ghost people began tossing them at me. I dodged a few of them and positioned myself in the corner of the room. I then held out my hand, pulled off the prayer beads and shouted, "WIND TUNNEL!!" Miroku style. Miroku is a character from the anime, Inuyasha. He has a cursed hand that acts much like a black hole.

      The monkey ghost people were quickly sucked into my hand, along with the vases statues and any other objects laying around the room. The large rug in the room, a few plants, and some chunks of the walls/ceiling as well. I could feel every object entering my hand. I could then feel the objects travel through my arm and disperse throughout my body. It felt a lot like when a nurse first puts an IV in your arm. I could feel the energy from all of these things coursing through me. I felt much more powerful. I decided to try and suck in the entire mansion.

      I concentrated and the walls started ripping apart. Many more ghosts started getting sucked into my hand. The walls and roof collapsed and was sucked into my hand as well. I could feel myself swelling with power. It felt like my entire hand was the black hole. I looked down and noticed by hand was just a black void. It slowly spread up my arm and I knew what was happening. I just let it continue. The entire mansion was gone and the black hole was spreading. It soon covered my entire arm and chest. A few moments later I was swallowed up completely by the black hole.

      I floated around in a black void for a while and decided to try and fly somewhere. No matter what, I just flew around in this pitch black void. I eventually woke up.


      Kazaana is the japanese word for Miroku's wind tunnel if you were wondering .

    2. First WILD: Eating a Goldfish

      First WILD attempt....a Success!

      May 1 2006 2:00am

      I just had an amazing experience. I wrote it down on paper when I first got up, but then decided to get it right on the computer. Here it is:

      I was awaken at about 12:15 and was having trouble falling back asleep, so I got up and did a few things and then laid back down in bed. Laying awake in bed at night has always frustrated me. I feel like I am wasting time, yet I know I need to try to sleep.

      But this time I thought I would make use of this time. I decided to try to WILD. It had been quite a while since I had read about WILDing, so I wasn't really sure what to do. I did remember something about counting down back from one hundred while laying real still. I figured it was worth a try since there was nothing to lose.

      So I got in a comfortable position on my back and slowly counted down from one hundred. But I kept having itches and found myself scratching them. I got down to one and started again.

      At about 50 I thought, "This isn't working. I must be forgetting to do something." So I stopped counting. I laid there for a few more minutes and then I suddenly felt very sleepy. I figured I'd try one more time.

      This time I didn't even count. I just laid there staring at the ceiling and focused on the feeling of myself becoming more and more "detatched" from my body. I heard a noise that was like a "hum", and I saw the ceiling "bouncing". Or maybe I was the one bouncing. Which ever it was, the ceiling would come closer then go back, then closer and then back, until finally I reached out my hand to see if I could "physically" feel it. Sure enough, I could feel it...even the texture of the plaster.

      When that happened I knew that I had successfully WILDed and I was in a Lucid Dream.

      I did the first thing that seems to come naturally for me in LDs. I flew out of bed and down toward the door. This time it was still dark outside. I remembered that in my last LD I was able to control the weather so it wasn't cold outside. I did the same in this dream. I opened the door and flew out in the not-so-cold night.

      I could see the house lights and street lights around me as I started to fly higher. Finally I looked over toward the city and saw all the city lights. I realized that this was not my city, but a much larger city. I decided it didn't matter. In this dream my house was on some sort of hill overlooking the downtown area. I had to fly across the hill before the ground dropped away, and I was over all the city lights. That was pretty cool.

      But then everything changed. I wasn't expecting this. My last LD seemed so perfectly real except for the fact that I was flying. But this one got a little strange. I was suddenly in a big dark room flying over these board games. Everything was huge, like I was the size of a fly in comparison. I didn't like it. I wanted to go back outside. I tried to change that, but was frustrated that I couldn't. I also wanted to see other people, since my LDs don't seem to have other people in them (except for that little girl that just passed through in the other one). But I couldn't make anyone show up.

      I decided to try one more thing. I remembered that the Lucid Dream task for April was to swallow a goldfish (It didn't dawn on me that I was now at least an hour into May). So I decided that I would fly into the next room, and that I would see a fish tank full of goldfish by the wall. And....yes.....this time I was able to do it.

      So there it was...this fish tank in an otherwise empty room. I landed on the floor beside it and looked at the fish. There were about 8 in the tank. They were a little more like Koi than the typical goldfish, but I figured that I had done pretty well considering this was only my second LD. They were all about 3 inches long and white in color with little spots of gold and black.

      When I had read about this task I had wondered if "dream goldfish" felt or tasted anything like real goldfish. I was actually very curious to find out. I stuck my hand in the water and grabbed one. To my dismay, it felt exactly like a real fish...cold, wet, and slightly slimy. Without looking at it closely, I popped it in my mouth.

      I stood there for a moment not knowing what to do next. I had hoped that once I got it into my mouth I could wish it into a cookie and chew it up and swallow it. But instead I had a very large, very real goldfish wiggling around in my mouth. It was too big to swallow whole. Yet the idea of chewing it was too gross to consider.

      I finally thought, "If I can make myself fly in a dream, I certainly can make myself swallow a goldfish!" and with that, I swallowed.

      The huge goldfish went about halfway down my throat before stopping. I started to gag. Unfortunately, the gagging made me wake up.

      But again, I wasn't upset. I suddenly realized the significance of what I had just accomplished....my first WILD....and how easy it had come.

      I had felt slightly frustrated that a week and a half had gone by since my first LD, and I had nothing else close to an LD since then.....until now.

      I am definitely going to try this again.

    3. New Apartment / Classic Doom Game / Dream Fruit (ToTM)

      (Note: During WBTB I was a bit hungry, so I drank a full glass of apple juice and are a PBJ sandwich. I always thought the claimed effect of these was placebo, but this may change my mind. It was extremely vivid and detailed, although I lost most of the fine details during recall and logging. ...If only I could connect a DVR to my mental image sensor...)

      I am walking through the main lobby of a huge apartment building, looking for my new apartment. The main lobby is open all of the way to the fourth floor and there are large chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. As I walk down the hallway, I see that there are numbers on the doors, but they are constantly changing. I walk up a large set of stairs to the second level and walk down the hall, looking at the numbers on the doors. One side of the hall has paintings between the doors and the other side is open into the main lobby area. At the end of the hallway is a common area with a couple of chairs and a fireplace. I go up another set if stairs and arrive on the third floor. It also has a common area, but there is no fire in the fireplace. I walk down the hall, looking for my apartment.

      After quite a bit of searching, I find my apartment. It has a huge main room with several smaller rooms that each have a fancy wooden door. The top half of the walls are green and the lower half is a medium wood paneling with a chair rail separating the top and bottom halves. The kitchen is very industrial looking as it is mostly stainless steel. There is a fireplace off to the side in an attached dining area. A set of double stained glass doors leads onto a large balcony that overlooks the main lobby. There is a small stairway off to the side of the balcony that leads up to the fourth floor, but the door at the top of the stairs is locked. I look through the window on the door and see that it leads into another large apartment. I turn around and go back down to my balcony.

      As I come back in from the balcony, I run into a friendly middle-aged black lady that walked in from the apartment next door. She tells me that she is the apartment guide and would like to show me around the new place. She walks me all around the apartment, then shows me where the laundry room is. All of the rooms are empty except the laundry room, which has a washer and dryer in it. She sees that I don't have any furniture yet and offers me her futon to sleep for the first night. I accept her offer and follow her back to her place. I take off my shoes and sit down on her futon. She walks away for a moment, then returns with a glass of water. When I lay down, I close my eyes and transition into a different dream scene.

      I an the main character in a first-person shooter game looks a lot like the classic Doom game. My health and stats are in my field of vision. I say to myself, “Wow, I'm in a video game!” I quickly become lucid and summon a keyboard so I can enter some cheat codes. I hear some shots being fired in the distance, so I enter IDKFA and my weapons repository fills up. I enter IDDQD and I feel a tingling sensation throughout my body as my health meter flashes, then expands to about three times the normal size. I select the grenade launcher and walk into the next room. There are a three characters in the room that look like the creatures from Aliens who immediately turn and start walking toward me. I fire the grenade launcher and blow one of them to pieces. I shoot the other two then run to the door on the other side of the room. I push on the door with my hand, but nothing happens. I tap the space bar on the keyboard and the door opens into another room.


      This room looks like an IT closet. There are racks of servers and networking equipment all over it. I put away the grenade launcher and type something on the keyboard which morphs me into a small fly. I fly around in the room for a moment, then find a hole in the ceiling. I fly around above the ceiling tiles until I find another hole that leads me into another room. This room is very small on one side and there are cable management trays going through it. The other side of the room is about normal height and has some metal shelves against the wall. There is a fluorescent light on the ceiling that is flickering badly. I fly around the corner into another room that has a couple of empty metal shelves along one wall.

      Suddenly, the door opens and a long blonde haired woman walks in. She looks straight at me and starts talking about something. Her words come out as total nonsense and I can't make out any words she is saying. Thinking it is a foreign language that I can't understand, I decide to keep exploring. I fly up into the ceiling and start looking around for another hole to fly into. Suddenly, I false-awaken back to the futon in the original dream.

      I stand up from the futon and notice that I am wearing some kind of martial arts uniform. It's a thick, dark material and is formed like a sleeveless cape. It has some graphics on the front that looks like a couple of sword fighters. I look around for a bit, then reach up to rub my eyes and see that I have only 3 fingers on my right hand. This irritates me a bit, so I put my hands in my pockets, pull them out and look at them again. Now they have 4 fingers and a thumb each. I nearly lost my lucidity, but I pinch my nose and can still breathe through it, reaffirming my lucidity.

      I walk out of the room into a large social area. There are several others wearing the same uniforms and they all look at me strange as I walk through to get to the bar at the other end of the room. A couple of them are practicing fighting with rubber knives. They both lunge at my throat with the rubber knives as I walk by. I extend both arms with my hands pointed upward and use telekinesis to shove them into the opposing walls as I walk between them. They both fall to the floor and quickly dissolve.

      I arrive at the bar and ask the bartender for the House Special. As he mixes my drink, I look at the ceiling and see that all of the lights are off. I can barely see anything, except that there is a light switch on the bar. I flip the switch and nothing happens, so I look back at the lights and say, “Lights Now!” and a couple of the lights turn on very dimly. I repeat a couple of times and about half of the lights reach full brightness. The bartender comes back and hands me a very unusual looking drink. It's a slightly green margarita that's in a large fish bowl shaped stem glass and it has some dry ice in it. There is heavy steam bubbling out of the drink that is rolling down the glass and across the bar. I take a sip and it tastes like a green Jolly Rancher. I blow into the steam and see that there is a strawberry on a stick in the middle of the drink. I smile and remember the basic task of the month, then grab the stick and eat the strawberry. It tastes like chocolate and has a very gritty consistency. Once I swallow it, I set the stick down and look around the bar.


      I look to my right and there is a younger guy who is becoming partially transparent and is looking around very nervously. A girl standing nearby tells him that he is destabilizing and he must spin if he wants to stay in the dream. He drops to the floor on his left hand and starts to push himself around in a circle with his feet, sort of like he's break dancing. After a moment, he fades back to normal and stands up again. He rubs his hands together for a bit then walks off with a smile on his face.

      I finish my drink and walk back to my apartment. It appears that my furniture has showed up, but it is still in boxes and plastic overwrap. I walk back to the apartment where I slept at and look for my shoes. I find them, but the laces are untied. I try to tie them, but there are like 5 loops and at least 7 lace ends. I spend a while trying to untangle them, but the dream suddenly fades and I wake up.

      When I wake up, I think to myself: What a perfect way to waste a really good lucid dream... ...tying my damn shoes...

    4. My first feature length lucid!

      I'm so happy!! I've been struggling for ages to get a decent lucid dream that actually lasts and I've finally got it. Admittedly it was semi lucid in parts and my recall for the start is a little hazy (hoping more of that will come back to me) but it was still a fantastic experience and my dream control was great.

      Basically I had a nap this afternoon to catch up some sleep with the intention to DILD if I had the opportunity and it all evolved from there. It was a shock to me at first when I started getting WILD sensations and I really enjoyed them this time, they felt really relaxing and comfortable. After this I found that my brain was in imagery overload and imagining loads of random images. One of them became particularly strong - I had found a way to break a simple sweets/toy machine without getting caught and could take all of the contents. This image was verging on dream-level and I hung it to it for as long as I could. After a while I felt myself coming out of the WILD state so refocused all of my energy on the image mentioned above. Before long the scenery started changing without my conscious effort, I still remember Thomas the Tank Engine in there somewhere.

      After a while the random colours and imagery had evolved into a dream environment, I didn't even have to bother reality checking etc as I remembered the whole process. I started grounding myself, concentrating on what I could feel, smell and see. Foolishly I tried hearing the outside world too and almost lost my lucidity, but my determination and hand rubbing kept me in the dream. After this I found I could continually do the hand rubbing with an extra set of arms so set off on an exploration.

      I was at my University and it looked a bit like the BBC news set. I didn't want to hang around here so headed to the back to find some toilets and check out my appearance in the mirrors. (I've heard a lot of rumours regarding this) A group of woman were approaching in front of me and being really slow so I dodged around them, noticing as I did so that one of the women was sick of the group and slipped into a cupboard instead of following them. When I got to the mirror I saw that I had my four arms. I decided to try and remove two of them and make the remaining ones more muscly. I couldn't do this effectively so instead I enticed the extra two out again and grew all four arms to hulk like proportions. Soon after this I remember I had the opportunity to dream fight but my recall around this point is quite hazy.

      I left the toilets and loads of people were heading upstairs to my "flat" where we were going to party. I didn't want to bother with the stairs as I was lucid so decided to fly straight upwards through the floors. It got pitch black once I tried to do this however and it resulted in my first successful teleportation. I simply pictured the room and *bang* I was transported into it. Once there I was alone and didn't know what to do, and then I realised - Task of the Month! To the best of my knowledge the task was to eat a piece of dream fruit and pick a piece of dream fruit (I now know this to be from the dark side of the moon) so headed out to do both of these things. I visualised an apple a couple of times but it wouldn't appear, so instead tried a different tactic of turning away and visualising it behind me. To my surprise this worked really well and I bit into my new found apple with joy. It tasted quite fizzy but was by far the best apple I've ever had. Next I decided to persue the advanced task incorrectly and found a small plant in the hall way, I decided this was enough and tried to grow some fruit on it. I used the same looking away visualisation technique to get fruit onto the branches of the small plant. The first couple of tries yielded mouldy results but by the third try I grew a perfect lemon. I remember vividly how the plant prickled me as it pulled apart the leaves to get to it. After this I decided to practice again as the lemon was quite small, and grew a perfect sized grape instead.

      Upon re-entering the main room in the flat I found that loads of people had arrived. I had vague memories of old tasks of the month as I was unsure which ones to do and remembered "kiss a dc". At this point I saw my friend A_ trying to kiss Rolf Harris. Rolf looked really uncomfortable so I went over, hugged him, and pushed Adam away, offering to get them both drinks. After a bit of mingling I realised that I wouldn't be able to recall all of this lucid as it was so long (there's still much I know that I can't recall) and decided to do one last thing. Whilst thinking this I saw Charlie Sheen in the corner with an inflated head - yes, punch Charlie Sheen. I went over, punched him quite hard and he disappeared.

      I was so confident of my dream control at this point that I created credits. They were displayed as lots of small white letters in computer font making up the shapes of bigger letters on a black background. They read "This was a Josh production. Thankyou for watching." I then used this to make white noise and voluntarily woke up.
    5. Concert on Teraluna

      I haven't had any 'memorable' dreams for some time.
      I strongly believe that this is caused by a lot of stress in waking life.
      So when I finished a project yesterday, I was quite relieved and decided to take the rest of the day off.
      I still have quite a few things to do, but I figured I could afford to relax for one day and sleep properly for once.
      I chatted with some friends on teamspeak and played some sc2.
      When I went to bed I wondered if I'd be able to recall an awesome dream this night.
      I started thinking about what has happened thus far, and tried to go to the whole 'teraluna' plot again, from the very beginning.
      At some point I fell asleep.

      This is the second dream of the night.

      I'm at some kind of open theater:


      It's not as big as in the picture, but the stone seat arrangement is quite similar.
      Some sort of concert is about to start.
      There's a girl with a violin, one with a cello, one with an e-guitar, a guy with a bass and another on drums.
      Quite an interesting arrangement, I like violins and cellos.

      I know I'm on Teraluna, but I don't think about it very much, I'm just happy to be here and wonder where Yuya is.
      Then I remember that she went to get drinks. I look around.
      I'm sitting in the second row, there's not really that many other people here, maybe around 50?
      It's nice because we're all spread out, so everyone has a lot of space.
      I admire the sky for a bit. Since Teraluna has no artificial lights you can see the stars and nebula in the sky very clearly.
      I suddenly remember that I should probably stabilize the dream, I feel like I'm out of practice.

      I rub my hands, but then I remember that I have a more effective way of doing this.
      I gently activate my dragonic aura, which causes a warm and fuzzy feeling all over my body.
      I wish all dreams would start on Teraluna, it is such an obvious dream sign, I never missed it so far.
      Yuya joins me and hands me a rather strange but interesting drink.
      There's a blue and a green liquid inside, but they don't mix, so it looks all swirly.

      Yuya sits down the exact moment I'm stretching my arms, and she sits very close so I automatically put my arm around her.
      I'm not entirely sure how that happened. Smooth Hyu... very smooth...
      I'm happy to see her again, it feels as ecstatic as it always does.

      "You're awake!"
      "Yes! Can you always tell?"
      "Mostly, yes."

      The band is starting to play so we stop talking.
      I take a sip of my drink. I'm quite surprised by the taste.
      I thought it would taste like lemonade, but it actually tastes like champagne.

      The beginning of the first song reminds me very strongly of the Morrowind Theme:


      After some time it's very different though.
      It's very special, I can't classify it into a genre of music, but I absolutely love it.
      I notice the guitar part isn't very hard, I think "I can do that".
      I concentrate on it and try to remember it, I want to play it in waking life... (Sadly, I can't remember it at all)

      ... We're sitting at the table in front of Yuya's place.
      For some reason the music is still playing.
      We're talking about waking life. I complain that I'm stressed lately and that I want to visit her more often...

      ... For some odd reason I think of 'dream fruits', there was something about them, but what was it?
      Yuya takes one of those blue lemons from a basket on the table and hands it to me.
      Then I remember, it was the advanced task of the month on DV! (It's the basic one actually, I confused it)
      I can't believe I remembered it, I only read about it once.
      I take a big bite out of excitement. It's very sour, I regret taking such a big bite.
      Yuya laughs.
      We talk some more before the dream ends.
      (I can't remember what we were talking about though)
    6. Snowballing Rorshach and Flying

      Yay, completed the TOTM!
      It was pretty dark outside. I'm guessing it was about midnight, but it wasn't too dark because of illumination from street lights. I was walking down a sidewalk in some random suburban neighborhood, with a small group of people. There weren't any fences, just houses blocked here and there like usual. There was snow on the ground.

      The people I was walking with were my friend from school, and Rorschach from Watchmen. He wasn't wearing his mask, but he was wearing his trench coat and hat. I can't remember what my friend was wearing.

      I suddenly became lucid after walking for a few minutes, and I saw the snow. Immediately I knew this would be a good time to complete the basic task of the month - to hit a DC with a snowball. I figured hitting my friend wouldn't be as interesting as Rorschach, so I picked up a clump of snow (which felt more like the fake stuff) and tossed it at him. The ball didn't break, but instead it just fell to the ground as it whacked against his hat, which fell off.

      He didn't turn to face me, but just looked down and laughed humorously.

      "I'm going now guys," I said. "Bye!"

      I proceeded to start running and take off into the air with my usual flying technique. In a few moments, I realized I was over an evergreen forest, which was right beside a two-lane road. It was still dark outside, but I could see where I was going, once again thanks to the streetlights on the road. I felt myself sinking down as I flew, so I said loudly, "engage backup power" and I managed to fly higher than before. I spent the rest of the dream flying because I just didn't want to do anything else.

      As I was flying near the end of the dream, I remember smelling perogies.
