    1. Dreams of N

      by , 11-03-2017 at 03:12 PM (Nef's dream journal)
I keep dreaming that I text with her again... I guess I think of her too much ..sometimes i even saw her face
      Also
A few days ago I dreamt that I had sex with two diff gals ...and thats it
My recall is terrible and I cant seeem to find a way to relax when doing WBTB WILD ,really hard to fall asleep at all.
Idk how could I eliminate that overly warmness in my body at the morning , in fact , if I dont use the blanket then I feel too cold , if I use the blanket I get too hot to relax...(no sexual innueendo intended)

I got lucid one morning but my lucidity was so low, i woke up

    2. Some Notes on Flight

      by , 10-24-2017 at 01:24 PM
      Techniques

I'm listing some techniques I've tried throughout the years, what has worked and what hasn't.

      Thruster hands

Basically, you imagine you're Iron Man, and your hands are jet or rocket engines. This involves holding your hands down by your sides, like Iron Man, or it won't work. That's an unfortunate limitation. It's worked for me once or twice, but it's not instinctive as I like having my arms in front of me in the Superman-pose.

      Verbal commands

Much like how some LD'ers shout "increase clarity" to improve the stability of their dreams, I've found other dream abilities are equally susceptible to verbal commands. While flying, I shout "faster!", and I actually feel a burst of acceleration propelling me faster. And it works almost every time, up to ludicrous speeds.

      'Reaching' forward

Pretty such the Superman pose. I find that by "reaching out" in front of you, it's kind of like a mental cue that you want to head towards this thing you're reaching out to, helping "mental propulsion".

      Problems

      Gaining altitude/transitioning

After all this time, I still have trouble gaining altitude vertically, maintaining altitude when flying horizontally, and especially transitioning from vertical flight (straight up) to horizontal flight forwards.

Perhaps I could try verbal commands to make it easier? Like "higher!" to climb, "forwards!" to go from vertical to horizontal.

Or avoid this problem entirely by not going straight up, but by taking a running start and climbing gradually. It's a lot easier.

      Maneuvering in the air

I find it hard to make maneuvers, for example to dodge a building or other obstacle, while flying horizontally at speed. It's almost like real-life laws like inertia and aerodynamics apply to me. Turning feels hard, and I have to really physically turn my body and then apply intense concentration to make my body actually fly in that new direction (or inertia would just make me continue drifting in the previous direction).

      Other

Speed. My flight speed feels very variable, and changes from dream to dream. Sometimes I reach speeds that feel like barely 200 mp/h. Sometimes closer a 800 mp/h, or even speeds that are completely impossible to real-world standards, like Europe-USA in 10 seconds. Not sure what causes these variations. Sometimes I just can't go beyond a certain speed, no matter how hard I try.

    3. 21 October 2017: Happy Children in Church

      by , 10-21-2017 at 03:56 PM
Before I fell asleep, I read most of Chapter 8 of "Faith is the Answer" by Norman Vincent Peale & Smiley Blanton and I prayed.

I dreamed of many little children singing happily in a church building on a mountain top surrounded by snow.

I laid on my back for most of the time I slept on this night and when I woke I felt very refreshed. I don't think this is only because of my sleeping position although that has something to do with it, I feel as though reading the "Faith is the Answer" book and praying also are reasons why I felt so refreshed.

    4. 2016/2017 Dream: Black Wolflike Monster

      by , 10-21-2017 at 06:58 AM
I dreamed that I saw a dark wolflike monster in the distance from me that started charging me; I was frightened and then decided to not part out cars (I had been thinking of doing this) and it passed me by without any harm.

      Hi everyone!

      It's been....awhile. x.x;

Sadly, I think this particular journal is retired for good--it just doesn't fit my lifestyle anymore.

      THAT SAID

For those of you still keen on following my dreaming exploits (and keeping in touch), I've started up a discord-based dream journal (https://discord.gg/4xuKtZj) which has greatly streamlined my journaling process.

Feel free to swing by, say hello, start a discussion, ask me any questions, etc.

I may not be super active here anymore, but I'm pretty much always accessible there if you need me for anything. <3

      Love y'all,

    6. She called again + weird dream memory + burglars

      by , 10-17-2017 at 10:16 PM (Nef's dream journal)
I was sitting outside infront of my house and talked with my parents, then my phone rang. It was N , she called me on my phone even though she doesnt know my number. I didn't get lucid. I couldnt pick it up becuase I was talking to my parents and I didnt want them to hear me speaking english, I'm kinda shy.
Then she called me again but I couldnt pick up the phone for the same reason.

After that another girl called, and then it popped in my mind, I remember her. She's that black haired girl I used to hang out often , sometimes flirt, she is aloof, kinda cold ,detached , but still a funny girl and we often would hang out and talk about stuff.
Now heres the rub; she doesnt exist. Actually I never met her or anyone like her. Shes just a dreamcharacter , but somehow I still remembered her, through my "dream memory".

I dont know why but its often that when I am in a dream , I can access memories of previous dreams , what happened before and stuff like that. Like if I live a second life when I go to sleep all night. Pretty weird.

So I picked up the phone and spoke with her, asked whatsup , its been a long time ,etc.
      And the dream ends here.

In another dream I dreamt of burglars breaking into my house after the lights go out in the middle of hte night. We were kinda freaked out, but I grabbed a bat and beat the burglars out of the house with all my might . I think I killed one.
    7. Dreams that Appear to Coincide with Reality

      by , 10-16-2017 at 09:25 PM
I've been noticing dreams in which I 'think' I am sleepwalking, but am not. It's hard to explain (as usual), but I think I am walking around in reality, but I know my eyes are closed but I can still see. But I think what I'm seeing is reality (as if I can see through my closed eyelids), not just a dream.

The other night I had such an experience, where I thought I'd woken up. My laptop was still turned on and next to me on the bed (sometimes I play ASMR videos as I fall asleep), and I reached over and clicked 'x' to close the tab. Then, I thought I woken up again, for real this time, and I'd reached over and clicked for real, except I missed the 'x' for closing the tab and clicked somewhere in the middle of the screen.

Now I think I might be 'misremembering' these events, and perhaps the dreams never matched reality at all, and it was a double false awakening.

    8. Those Gleaming, Red Eyes...

by , 10-06-2017 at 04:57 AM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Fell asleep at: 11:30 PM

      Woke up at: 7:00 AM

Perceived dream time: A few minutes/A night

      Dream:[/U]

I'm in my bedroom with about 3-4 other people at night. They're all huddled up against the window, talking frantically amongst themselves about an alligator in the backyard.

I look out the window to find a slightly cartoonish looking alligator just...sitting there. It does not move one bit. To the left I spot a huge freaking Alligator Snapping Turtle. It is jagged and monstrous in appearance, and towers over the alligator in terms of pure height. To IT'S left I find a large Northern Spotted Owl with scarlet red eyes.

telling dream peaple your dreaming-another-owl.jpgTurns out these guys exist! Now I am never going outside ever again.

Immediately I hide under the covers of my own bed, hoping that by morning all three monsters would disappear at the turn of the morning. I hopped into my bed, closed my eyes for 3 seconds, and the morning came faster than the Roadrunner. The dream ended shortly after.

      NOTES

      1. This was the first dream I had that incorporated a "Time Skip" to some extent.

    9. Apartment Complex Time Machine

      by , 09-16-2017 at 05:32 PM
I was in my apartment in the dream. In the dream was woken up. I felt like something was going on to the apartment complex. Looked out the window and the scenery looked different than it normally does. It was like I time traveled.

I really did get woken up by my cat in waking reality but was lucid for a short time.

    10. A weird nightmare & a LD after a while

      by , 09-15-2017 at 05:35 PM
So, I have been trying to get LDs since I got more motivation for that. I have been trying DILD (with MILD kind of) but one night I accidentally almost got a WILD. Too bad I wasn't prepared and didn't realize what was happening so I moved... Too bad, because it would have been super easy to get to the WILD from there. But now, let's just get to the dream I had tonight:

I was in some park. There were trees and a stand of some kind in front of me. The stand was owned/run by some old guy. He was standing in front of the stand. That old guy was a bad guy somehow. He didn't do anything. He just told me that he was bad. It was something spiritual. I think some other bad creatures were supposed to come after me or something, I don't remember (the dream wasn't really clear). I just felt/knew that everything wasn't right even tought the guy didn't even fight me yet (very typical logic nonsense for my dreams sometimes...). I decided to avoid all that and just try to wake up. The scenery went a little foggy ro something after that decision. It was like Minecraft with low graphics. But because I soon realised that it was obviously a dream if I was trying to wake up, I decided to start flying away instead. It was a LD after that. The scenery was really unclear. Too bad I heard the guy's voice in my head. He said he would be "asking guestions" during my dream. I didn't want it at all (even though now I wish I knew what he would have asked) so I told him to be quiet. It didn't work right away and I was going to say it again but then my alarm rang. Yay.

Okay I honestly don't care that I woke up because the LD sucked. I only slept for six hours last night so that mich be the reason for that. I just hope that this nice memory of succeeding gets me a better LD this weekend.
    11. Elevators. And lots of them. And mirrors. Can't forget about that.

by , 09-14-2017 at 12:27 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Fell asleep at: 12:00 AM

      Woke up at: 5:00 AM

Dreamtime: 30 minutes of supposed dream time

      Dream:

I'm in a fancy hotel somewhere with two to three friends. We were exploring the hotel, going inside elevators, checking the rooms out, and generally doing a whole lotta nothing. I'm in a room with a big mirror to the right. I instantly recoil at the sight of it, not wanting to look at any mirrors in a dream due to all the unpleasant experiences people have with them in dreams.

I instead head to an elevator. I walk inside and suddenly, Slenderman. Now, I don't believe in the suited faceless freak, but that didn't stop my subconscious from shoehorning it in anyway. I keep my eye on him, fearing he might do something if I'm not looking.

The elevator opens up to a narrow pathway outside of the hotel. There was no guard railing, and it seemed to be nighttime (There was also an aurora borealis forming in the distance).

I head into another elevator and there is both a mirror AND the Slendydude inside of it. I look away from the mirror and focus squarely on the white faced man. The dream ended right after which.

      NOTES:

      1. The dream was impressively vivid. Too bad this ended up being even more vivid than my own LD but whatever.

    12. What A WILD Ride

by , 09-14-2017 at 11:57 AM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Fell asleep at: 12:00 AM

      Woke up at: 5:00 AM

DREAMTIME: 20 minutes of perceived dream time.

      Pre-Dream State:

Yup, this is a WILD. Okay, so I went to bed at 12:00 AM, but I had also fallen asleep for 4-5 hours beforehand, so I think I was in a state where I could easily initiate REM even if I didn't want to, and I did.

Out of nowhere, my body began to shift into REM Atonia (Or as I and many others like to call it, Sleep Paralysis) and I began to hear slight snippets of audio as I'm making the transition. I also began to see small flashes of light, and my body also felt like it was convulsing WILDly. I was almost scared shitless, the only saving grace being I knew I was going to transition into a dream at the end of it. I was scared that hallucinations of demons would pop up out of nowhere, but I had to keep my eyes shut and suppress those thoughts as hard as I could.

For what seemed like an eternity of blaring lights, body shifting, and small noises, I had finally, finally transitioned into an LD. I think it only lasted for 30 seconds, but shit like that makes you REMEMBER stuff goddammit.

      Dream:

Anyway, I transition into a sort of dungeon lit by torchlights. For some reason there are girls in front of me that are inside giant Tabasco sauce bottles (Don't ask). I walk up to one of the girls (I think she was brunette, about my age) and tilt the bottle forward, and somehow end up covering her with chili powder. I don't know if my subconscious was being clever or not but here you go.

The other girls next to her laughed and proceed to egg her on about the whole thing, but my eyes were fixated on another row of girls to the right, this time not inside of oversized spice bottles. I think of striking up a conversation with them, but I dismiss the thought entirely, and end up walking up to some kind of large metal door with orange trim.

I walk through the door to find myself in a wide open tundra. It is the most beautiful, yet the most frightening thing I have yet encountered. My mind begins to race with thoughts of freezing up and dying in my own dream, but I suddenly begin to realize how null my body is to the cold, and my worries melt away. I keep traversing this surreal white acropolis (Thumbs up if you get the reference) when I come across a nice, temperate looking area with orange grass and where you can see the sunset.

It is almost alien in appearance. The saturated orange color of the grass itself accompanied by the fact it was right next to a frozen landscape. It was also a mountain high up in the sky, to add to the craziness.

I wind up finding a couple of my real life friends (Though I can only remember one clearly(Let's call him E)). I talk to 'E' for a bit, Lord knows what the hell I was talking about, but the tone of the conversation seemed to be pretty lax all in all. And no, I didn't try to convince him it was a dream.

I try to fly in this dream, but end up stumbling in the air (If you can picture that) and falling right back down.

I go back to the frozen landscape I was in, and get lost in thought as I lose lucidity and thus lose the dream.

      NOTES

      1. My memory of the LD seems to be highly muddled by my other dream that I had right after this one, so details are a bit sparse.

      2. This was most definitely a WILD.

      3. The LD seemed pretty long (About 20 minutes or so). I didn't need to do any reality checks along the way either as I seemed to have a consistent level of lucidity throughout.

    13. Dream - Flaming Fire Fury (+ Side Note)

      by , 09-13-2017 at 02:23 PM
I didn't post on here for ages. I'm studying a diploma qualification at the moment and the last weeks of term are always so busy when it comes to any type of studying. The schedule has really messed up the quality of my dreams but now that I have a three week holiday... Hopefully the opportunity arises to get my dreams and contact with my Dream Guide back on track. Just wanted to tell you where I was in case anyone was wondering for the past month or so:

Date of Dream: THU 24 AUG - 2017

Dream No. 184 - Flaming Fire Fury

I don't remember how the dream started. From where I do remember; my family, JO and JH were getting ready to go out somewhere. Some family friends were over at my house and so I was keen to show them the dress that I was wearing. The dream scene went to me looking in my bedroom mirror. I was wearing a short, light blue dress with black straps and some lavender coloured jewellery.

Then there was a different dream scene altogether, in a different location. It was in some random garage-like room and I was wanting to change into a lavender dress to match the jewellery. Interestingly enough, the dress was going to be in the exact same style, just in a different colour. So I was taking off my light blue dress when this random silhouette of a lady appears on the other side of the curtained window... The voice is constantly yelling at me to hurry up.

She yells at me so often that I eventually forced to stop what I am doing and so therefore, find myself continuing a portion of the dream naked, or as I felt it, at least top half naked. I go to the other side of this garage room, where the door to the outside is. As it opens, the lady that was yelling at me comes forth from outside. I ended up getting really cross with her and telling her off for what she had done. I find that my temper is actually getting higher and higher and I soon also get hot. I clearly stated, in anger, that I was going to let out the most awful fire fury.

I end up taking a deep breath in and literally, I see flames blasting out of my mouth at the lady. The flames had really affected her but I wasn't done. I shifted my elemental powers to only a bit of ice, which was not ice itself but rather really cold air... It had paralysed her movements, made her helpless and shoved her out the door. I then turned around and noticed that some invisible wall was up to where I planned to go back to. I whispered to myself “the room now seems to be guarded by fire” and then I said to the invisible barrier, something like “allow us access, do not deny us”.

I felt this energy as if the fire barrier was letting me through. When I got to the other side, my assumption of fire guarding the room became true as I got extremely hot and started to sweat. All throughout the dream, I did manage to find some time for Easter egg hunts and in this room, I found a whole heap of Easter eggs laying in a bowl. I thought that there were the eggs that my little cousin collected and beat me to. I tried to remove the wrapper off one of the eggs but it was melted from the heat that the excess of the fire element was creating. That's all I can remember for this dream.

      Dream Trophies Achieved:
      - Snowed In (use your ice abilities in 1 dream)
      >> Paralysed the lady with a blast of cold air and then shot her out the door.
      - Burnt To A Crisp (use your fire abilities in 1 dream)
      >> Breathed fire on the lady and afterwards, the room became surrounded by the remaining energy of this element.
    14. SA2 And Roaming In The Sewers

by , 09-06-2017 at 03:33 AM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
For some reason I'm playing Pyramid Cave with Knuckles on my Wii (With a GameCube controller). The stage is essentially a large halo around two bottomless pits. One in the center and one surrounding the outer perimeter of the ring.

I'm gliding around the stage, and this one gust of wind keeps knocking me into the bottomless pit as I attempt to speedrun the stage. I eventually get fed up and hop into a yellow toilet with Knuckles still being in control.

The perspective then changes to first person as I (In my dumb, dreamy state) am holding a GameCube controller in my hand; now controlling Gamma from Sonic Adventure. I'm in a yellow, empty sewage pipe and I'm walking from one side to the other.

After reaching a dead end, I then decide to turn back where I came from. An air of uneasyness bestows upon me as I look around every corner, as if I was imagining something was gonna jump out and scare me. Gamma disappeared at that point and I was there, alone, in the sewer pipe.

I make it to the end of the pipe (Where for some reason there is a broken down toilet inside a stall and an unused sink next to it.

My mom and her 'friend' (Who didn't exist in real life but was just a DC) then open a door. I then breathe a sigh of relief. They start talking to me about something, but I go back out through the door, where the dream then ended.

      Notes

      1. I seemed to have a dreamlike acknowledgement of the dreamscape. As I feared something would pop out at me because it was a dream and all part of my imagination.

      2. The color yellow was very much prevalent in the dream. Everything in the sewer was yellow, except for the one puddle of water I stepped in.
    15. Back in School

      by , 09-05-2017 at 04:28 PM
I was in elementary school again. My class was taking an exam. The exam had a weird perk where you had to submit the test within a composition notebook. I didn't have a notebook with me. So in the dream, I thought that maybe I would have one in my locker. I go to my locker and enter the combination that I somehow knew: 65 45 11.

Two significant things about that combination:

      1) Master locks only go up to 39. There can be no 65 or 45 in a combination. Yet in the dream world, the lock had those numbers while still maintaining a normal sized dial.

      2) That combination. I had written it down in my dream journal a while back. I had made it up. For it to just appear in my dream and be of use is very intriguing since I am in the business of trying to master dream incubation.

The locker opens and I have two composition notebooks inside, one blue; one black. I recognize these immediately yet I am not lucid at any point in the dream. The black one is my regular daily journal tracking my fitness and meditation practices. The blue journal is my physical dream journal in supplement to this on DV. I think to myself that I am not giving the teacher my blue journal because it has some embarrassing dreams in it, so I give her the black one.

      That's all I remember.

      Rant time.

Why is it that I dream about everything except the one thing I incubate to be dreamed about. My hypothesis is that my mind does NOT understand what a dream is exactly. It only understands real life and tries to replicate that. Perhaps why I can dream about Donald Trump with no incubation required mostly because I was reading articles about him the previous day. Yet, trying to summon a specific dream character after 2 hours of visualization exercises seems nigh impossible.

My second hypothesis is that I can and will ONLY dream about persons, places and things that I somehow have a waking-life interaction/attachment with. So elementary school mostly. But why elementary school? Why not middle school? Why not high school or more recently college?

If we dream about things we have a strong emotional attachment to, why not dream constantly about high school; a time of great emotional distress for me?
