    1. Wow, I have weird dreams.

by , 09-08-2011 at 08:51 PM (Curiouser and Curiouser)
I was really hoping for a lucid dream last night, but no such luck. Really weird dreams too.

There were a bunch of super tall girls competing (much taller than me - which is saying something as I clock in at a healthy 5'9"). I really strongly disliked one of them, some blonde girl. I don't remember why. We were taken to a hotel (me and my group) by the guy in charge, and at first we were upset because we had the building furthest from the center/main event (I don't remember) but then we realized it was by the water, so we were happy.

I went to some sort of party , I wrote down that S was there but I think it was actually R and I just got them mixed up. M was there and I remember getting upset because he was talking and laughing with R the whole time, even when she was being snarky. It wasn't a big deal though, and I left with Mo and Ra. They had a fridge in their car, which was really funny since it kind of makes sense since they always have the munchies.

I remembered something else later, and I think it was part of a different dream but it might have been from the same one.

I was moving into my suite (pretty obvious why I dreamed about that), but the suites in my dream were totally different than in real life, and I only had one roommate. It was just one really small room with two beds and a giant tv on the wall. My dad was helping my move in and my roommate had already brought all her stuff in.

In another part I was just watching a story about a little boy that captured a pony (it looked very my little pony-esque, not realistic at all), and was doing experiments on it. He was taking blood and collecting urine samples, and then he was making it drink a mixture of the two. That did not feel as weird and gross in the dream as it does now that I'm awake, but I remember hoping that when the two mixed it would just look like strawberry lemonade so it wouldn't seem so gross - but it didn't, it was just a dark orange-y yellow. Ew.

I'm working on being more constantly aware. I hope this pays off sometime soon!
    2. WILD/DEILD experiment - Preventing myself from waking up / Flying with Yuya / Japanese Temple

I decided to experiment with alarm timers last night.
What I basically did was setup my pc so that it would produce a very loud beep at certain times during the night in order to wake me up.
I figured this way I wouldn't have to move (to turn off an alarm for example) and I could make numerous WILD / DEILD attempts during a single night.
This is obviously not a new idea, but I haven't tried anything like if before.
I set the alarms to start after approximately 5 hours of sleep, and then repeat in intervals of 20 minutes for 2 hours.

I wake up thinking the first alarm must have gone off, but I didn't really hear anything.
I'm a bit disorientated but try to remember any dreams.
I recall there being some dream with me driving my car, but no specifics.
Then the alarm goes off. It's quite a bit louder than I thought it would be.
Weird, I must have woken up before it actually went off for the first time.
I then attempt to WILD but fall asleep too quickly.

      *BEEP*
That must have been the second alarm. Unfortunately I moved quite a bit, I think a DEILD is out of the question.
I try to recall any dreams but I can't remember anything whatsoever.
I close my eyes and attempt another WILD.
Surprisingly, I immediately get quite strong HH.
Not only do I get pretty vivid images and lighting flashes, but I also hear voices.
This is quite odd, it's never this intense...
      Hold on a second...
I open my eyes and to the nose plug RC.

I'm dreaming! This is a FA... of course... how did I not think of that?
I float out of bed towards my pc to see if there's anything on the monitor, but it is turned off.

I wake up again, pretty sure of having heard the last half of the alarm sound.
I wonder if this is another FA and realize that this method will obviously cause quite a few FA's and I can't test for them properly if I'm not supposed to move.
But I moved yet again anyways, so I just plug my nose again. I'm pretty sure that I'm awake.
I attempt another WILD, this time focusing stronger on remaining conscious.
I feel more "clear in the head" than before and feel like I have a good chance of success.
I quickly get vivid blue plasma HI, followed by faint memories of images.
They go on for a short time and I am unsure of what I'm supposed to do, so I just wait it out, hoping to enter a lucid.
A first scene forms of be being on a couch with a few people I do not know.
I am right on the verge of entering a lucid dream, I know it, but the scene vanishes.
But is is quickly followed by another scene.
There's snow... a road... people walking the road towards... some kind of temple?
It looks Japanese... people are wearing kimonos.

It's now or never, I have to act.
I try to jerk my dream body forwards, into the scene...
Gravity! I fall for maybe half a meter and my feet hit the snowy road.
My whole body is buzzing, but these vibrations quickly turn into senses.
I can feel the cold wind on my skin and... ouch!
My feet are SO COLD. I'm standing barefoot in the snow.
It is so cold that it nearly hurts, but for some reason it feels really good.
I try to further stabilize the dream by rubbing my hands, but then I get a better idea.
I grab some snow from the road and rub it over my naked chest and it feels incredibly good.
The coldness even causes me to shiver.

Some DC's are giving me odd looks as they are walking past me towards the temple.
I decide to join them and investigate what's going on in the temple, it's not very far away.
This dream is really stable. I bet it has to do with the constant feeling of coldness, which is triggering many of my senses.
I wish coldness and snow would feel this awesome in waking life... I hate winter in waking life.
I reach the temple, which is more of a gate actually.
Behind it is a meeting of many Japanese people wearing traditional clothing.
There's water in the center, a bit like a swimming pool, but very natural.
Some women are dancing on this water, with particles of light floating out of the water.
It reminds me of a scene from FFX:

      I wake up yet again.
I wonder if this is another FA.
Not wanting to move, I attempt to levitate my dream body upwards... which sort of works.

I have some trouble separating my dream body from my real body, but finally I'm floating in my room.
It's different from before, it's like I still feel the attachment to my real body.
I have to think of this dream: Out of body? - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views
I try to avoid looking at my real body still in bed, remembering that it freaked me out last time.

      I wake up again.
This time I managed not to move, I even still have my eyes closed.
I try not to think, but I end up thinking that I want to meet Yuya.

A new dream scene forms... it's Teraluna!
Amazing! I look around and notice that I'm sort of floating in the air.

      "Hyu..."

      It's Yuya!

      "Hi!"

      She points towards the ground.
I look down and realize that I am floating about 2 meters above the ground.
And obviously, at this specific moment, I stop floating.
I fall into a tiny river which is right next to Yuyas place.
I quickly emerge from the water and hold on to the terrace the river is flowing by.
Yuya is right in front of me and bursts out laughing.
I have to laugh myself, this is so typical of me.

I get out of the water.
The shock of falling into the river was actually a good thing, it "woke me up".
I talk with Yuya about numerous things, including the dream I just had where I rubbed snow onto my chest.

"I thought you didn't like snow."
"I certainly don't in waking life."
      "You call it mud."
"It usually is, but the snow in the dream was so pure, it was so different."

We're sort of staring at the landscape during our conversation and I casually put my left arm around her waist.
Where does this confidence come from? Usually I'm quite shy around her for some reason.
After we discuss a few more things Yuya presses her back against my chest.

      "Hold me!"
      "Okay?"
      "Hold on to me!"

I put both of my arms around her wondering what's going on.
Within a split second everything turns very dark and my body vibrates.
I can hear the very loud sound of the alarm going off.
I no longer feel, I can't hear anything besides the alarm and I can barely see.
I try to concentrate on the warmth of Yuyas body which is pressed against mine, since it's the only thing I'm still able to feel clearly.
As the alarm sound stops, my senses gradually come back and after a few seconds I can see and feel clearly again.

      "Holy shit!"
"Did we just prevent myself from waking up?"
      "We did indeed."
"This is amazing... You're amazing! ..."
      "Ain't I?"

She says, sticking out her tongue. I have to laugh.

      "Let's go!"

Yuya grows water wings and takes off.
I quickly summon my phoenix wings and go after her.
We leave Haven and fly through the tree crowns of Teraluna.
We're flying quite a bit slower than last time, enjoying the mysterious and beautiful landscape of Teraluna...

I wake up again and decide to take some notes.
I look at my mobile to check the time and realize that all 6 alarms have already passed.
I must have missed a few of them.
I go back to sleep and wake up again after a total of 9 hours of sleep.
But I still feel sort of tired. I did have 6 alarms going off during the night, I guess this makes sense.

Anyways, this was an interesting experience, and I'm probably going to try this again soon.
The feeling of preventing yourself from waking up was quite something!
    3. Vitamin B6 - Real results!

      by , 07-01-2011 at 12:04 PM
Vividness: 7 I feel like the vitamin b6 made me seem more in first person and more in control,
Lucidity: 0 although i did not become lucid I felt like i was living it, not following a story.

I had a dream i was in my kitchen, and my parents were leaving for work, this one girl from my school was trying to talk to me using a webcam. Only odd this was that my microwave had become my computer. My parents were about to walk out the door so i turned the volume and screen off. Once they left, I clearly remember her telling me her dad was with the company when they developed this new flavor of Gatorade. My dad came home so I shut the Microwave off real quick thinking he was going to think I;m going insane.

I was in some sort of back yard area of a apartment or townhouse located on the dock. There was a little rocky area to the left that went about 8 feet high, and had a waterfall coming down from it. The hole was about 3 feet deep where you could sit around it. Me, and my friend Austin were sitting around it, I remember there being some purple goo at the bottom in a small compartment. Might have been a paint can? I was stirring it up with a long straw just to mess with it. I remember it bubbled and some of it got on him. He freaked out, then we were over by the dock area drinking that Gatorade that one girls dad supposedly made. I remember looking for something at the top of the little cabin/box thing that popped out of the house where the door was. It was some sort of ingredient, i think it was a bag of sugar, dough, or insta potatoes. My brothers friend Daniel had shown up by then.

I was with some friends snooping outside my house waiting for my parents to leave, my friend Jeff asked me if he could smoke in my house. I said no, but he could smoke in the hockey room(Dreamed up sports room separate from the house.) I remember us being in some sort of hold that seemed to be 10-12ft deep. It was night time, he was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt. We had been sitting around, and my brothers friend garret was hiding under this one part of the hole that was about a 70 degree angle, so if some one had looked down from right above him they couldn't see him. Basically we were just waiting for my parents to leave with out letting them know we were there. Jeff was across from garret under this part the had a concrete fence above him. I was on the other side of the hole, on the length instead of width so we made a triangle. I suddenly was where my friend garret was, and he was gone. my friend Scott was next to Jeff all a sudden. I remember looking up and seeing the roots growing out of the dirt. I thought i herd someone coming above me so i tried to silently run and slide next to where they were. I remember this seeming so dramatic when I ran across, and suddenly dipped down to slide. My brother approached from the side i was just on and he could see us perfectly from ground level. He didn't care and simply act like he never saw us.

I was in my house and it was a military base, i wasn't of high ranking, but i was discussing a plan to invade some area. He was talking about sending waves of troops. I remember every one in their military uniform. He said that they will be sending 2 waves and we have a extra back up one just in case. He decided to send them home because he didn't feel we needed the extra troops. I remember him standing in the doorway of my kitchen, and me in the kitchen. I was nervous about talking him because he was such a high rank. I said I feel we could use the extra troops just in case. He sensed the nervousness in my voice and chuckled a little. I forget how he responded.

There was some sort of jail or utopia i was in, i remember my manager(IRL) being the lady that controlled our sector. I remember there was some sort of stamp or card collection, when you want to grab them a jail door would swing down and smash your fingers. I remember trying to take one for the hell of it, i was quick enough and got to keep my hand. Next we were be moved, and we were walking through streets filled with active civilians, i remember walking trying not to attract any attention. We started to get to this one building, I'm not sure what happened next. I remember there was a prison break or fight of some sort mini battle, i was trying to make it up/down levels of cell doors, I'm not sure if i ever escaped.

    4. Mini City in a Warehouse, Killer Marshmallow Men,and a Nazi Scientist's Experimental Dream Facility

      by , 06-17-2011 at 08:42 PM
This dream was insane, I’ve never dreamt anything like it. It started out with my friends and I inside of a city, that was inside of a warehouse. None of the buildings inside were real, nor were they the size of actual buildings, but they were still semi-large. The tallest building was probably about 10-15 feet tall. The warehouse was huge and divided into rooms, but I didn’t discover this until later. The room I was currently in… It’s hard to say how big it was, if I were to talk around it’s perimeter it would probably take about 10 minutes or so.

I was walking around with my friend Kyle, and my cousin Trey maybe? I’m unsure of who I was with, but I’m pretty certain Kyle was one of them, and that most of my friends were there at some point. We were just walking around the city until we came to a guy, in front of whom was a cylindrical ash tray sort of thing, similar to the ones at my school. Inside of it were bunches of electronic cigarettes that contained THC-liquid instead of nicotine. We walked up and tried them, and the guy said it was ok to take as much as we want. I took a hit and then felt really weird, not high, but very different. The guy told me I could take another and I did.

That’s when people ran by, and then I saw a huge shadow on the ground. The guy selling the e-cigs told us to run and we did. There was a giant walking around that looked like the marshmallow giant from ghost busters, except he wasn’t super huge, his size was proportionate to the smaller scale of the city height. I wasn’t necessarily afraid, but I didn’t want to find out what happened if the giant caught me. Eventually he passed by and then I leaped onto a building. It wasn’t very big, it was about 10 feet tall and has a 5x5 perimeter. I looked around and I could see the giants shadows, there were three now, and one looked like the pilsbury doughboy. I think this is when I realized I was dreaming, because of the height I jumped and the odd scale of the city.

I decided to ignore and forget about the giants and I leaped down. I was walking and I saw a group of people, I don’t remember who all of them were, but I remember one was this girl I knew from high school and hadn’t seen in a long time. I approached her and started undressing her, her naked body was kind of weird looking and not very sexually stimulating. At this point my dream collapsed. I was sitting in the darkness. It felt like my eyes were closed inside of my dream, so I attempted to open my dream eyes, but then it felt like I was opening my real eyes so I stopped and sat in darkness. I started thinking about the person I was just looking at and then poof. Dream reinstated!

I reentered the same dream, but I entered it at an earlier point in the dream that had already passed. I had just gotten down from the building and was already halfway to the girl I knew. I walked up to her again and she was pissed about what I had done earlier. I just ignored her and decided to explore, Brandon was coming with me.

We started walking around and we found a door. We entered it and it took us into a house almost. To my left was a hallway shaped like a T with a door in the center, and possibly doors at the ends of the horizontal hallway. To might right was a wall with a door on it. The doors were all wooden. In front of me was a living room, and to my back left was a little kitchen. I decided to try the door on my right first. I walked through it and found myself in this weird warehouse-type room. It wasn’t as large as the warehouse in which the city was in. I could have walked around this one in a minute, easily a minute if I ran.

There was a metal ramp that led up then switched back and went up higher to a control room looking sort of thing. There was also some type of machine in the room. I walked up the ramps and approached the controls to find that there were four or five key inputs. Prior to this I had thought I was in some type of Korean facility, but upon reading some papers I found at the control center I realized I was in a German facility. That’s when it hit me somehow. I gained this belief, I’m not sure where it came from, but I was in some type of experimental dream facility. It had been created and abandoned long ago, I hypothesized it had been created by nazi scientists who were conducting dream-related experiments. This place was a product of their experiments and existed in the dream realm maybe? - is what I thought (remember the part of your brain responsible for logic is largely inactive while you are dreaming)

Unfortunately I couldn’t read German so I began examining the machine. I concluded that I need a key for each key insert to activate the machine. I decided I wanted to activate the machine because it must have been the reason I was there. I went back into the room with the living room and kitchen and tried the door in the middle of the T next. It took me into an office. Inside was a nice leather chair and nice office furniture. There were book shelves and other decorations about. I began opening the desk drawers and searching for a key.

Up until this point my dream had collapsed at least three additional times. Every time I just waited in the darkness for it to come back, refusing to try to open my eyes. I sat there, or rather existed there, thinking about the dream I was having until I’d reenter it. I began to suspect I was approaching the end of my REM-cycle and concluded it was the reason my dream kept cutting out; my body was trying to wake up, but I wasn’t letting it. While searching for the key however, I unfortunately woke up. I tried going back to sleep, but I did not reenter that same dream. Instead I began having these extremely short nonsensical dreams that always began in a random place and didn’t go anywhere. I woke up from these short dreams repeatedly.
    5. First dream recalled in a long time

      by , 08-03-2010 at 07:53 AM
Some of my day themes crept into my dream last night. I dreamt that my VPS provider, Linode, had started offering smaller plans for lesser cost (including 78MB of RAM as the smallest). I decided to go for a walk to find their main office, and sign up there (somehow signing up on the web wasn't an option in the dream). I went for a walk, and as it turned out, they had multiple offices along the street - the street was like one out of a "Rocky" movie, where all the houses are kind of similar to apartments, and have stairs going up to their doors. The first office I went into had 3 people lying down on green, flat, dentist chairs. They were being injected with a liquid that put them into a sleep, slowed their perception of reality down by 70 times, and allowed them to recognise that they were dreaming. Effectively, because they were put under for 1 hour, they were being given 70 hour lucid dreams. Once they fell asleep, they had some sort of goggles put over their eyes to increase their visualisation ability. After I saw this, I walked out the building and continued down the street to try and find their main office. I don't think I ever found it. When I walked back past the other building, there were people coming out of it throwing up, presumably as a side effect of the injection. This is all I remember.

    6. March 29, 2010

by , 06-13-2010 at 02:22 AM (Whirlwind of Dreams)
      New Job:
I found myself at my job again but it was a new place, one I’ve never been in before and much different than my current one. All I can recall from the place is that there was a wooden shelf that had a huge glazer placed on it. I saw one of my colleagues and asked why she was throwing out some food but can’t fully recall her answer. The new day I find myself working her position and not sure how but I had 4 skewers embedded in me. There were two skewers that went into one finger each that were opposite to each other on my hands. Another skewer went into the area near my elbow on my left hand and the last went near my bone on my right hand. All the skewers went right through my skin and out the other side. I started to pull them out, starting with the one near my bone, then the elbow and then finally the finger skewers and never once did I feel any pain. I also thought within the dream that I would start to bleed once I took the elbow one out but I could see blood in the hole that was left but nothing came out of either of them.

      The Bus:
I was going to the bus stop near my house. When I got there I thought I missed the bus and I realized that I forgot my jacket which meant that I didn’t have my bus pass with me. Fast forward and I decide to walk to another bus stop but this time I have my jacket on but it’s ripped. My bus comes and I end up running back to the stop. After getting on the bus, I found my jacket in the back which now looks like a taxi. I knew that it was my jacket even though I was told it wasn't because of the visor in it.

      Brain Experimentation:
Some brain experimentation was being done to find a way to get someone to remember their dreams better. A brain was immersed into water and the result was compared to those that weren’t. In the end, it was determined that the individuals who’s brains are immersed in water can remember their dreams much better.

Thoughts: The brain experimentation dream was interesting, too bad it didn't continue/couldn't remember anymore details

    7. The Experiment and the Dam

      by , 12-16-1973 at 06:16 PM
Morning of December 16, 1973. Sunday.

I used to do various “dream experiments” when younger to learn more about how dreams “worked” - as nothing I read about dreams ever held any personal truth for me (especially so-called dream dictionaries, which I read only for entertainment and sometimes to laugh at and scorn and wonder how they came up with some of the idiotic concepts that were sometimes more generic than the nonsensical but harmless “Wishing Well” syndicated daily newspaper feature that was printed next to the comics section along with the equally silly horoscopes).

Anyhow, regarding one such “experiment”, I spent an entire sixteen hours reading the same comic book stories over and over (carefully) to see if I would “dream” them or one of them. The comic had mostly Little Lotta and Little Dot stories. Anyway, the only dream I remembered with more clarity after one REM stage was a brief, vivid still image (as if one panel from a comic book) of Little Dot and Little Lola looking up at a dam that had just burst (as if it was starting to overflow due to a flood as well), with their faces partly in profile, showing great concern.

So much for that experiment. I took it to mean that my mind (at many different levels) had many ideas and that trying to force a particular story (or stories) by repeating it all day and night was like damming up my creativity or otherwise dynamic mental energy. However, in terms of imagery, certain types of somewhat repetitive photo projection certainly works with the right frame of mind and personally viable affirmations (and using viable meditation).
