    1. Saving Time and my Grandma

by , 07-18-2012 at 08:26 PM (Inside the Mind of Mattlantis)
I can't remember the last time I recalled two full dreams in one night, so I'm pretty happy about this. I dunno if the multivitamin I took had anything to do with hit, or if writing in a dream journal again has improved my recall.

      Dream One: Hospital Hijinks

I was in a hospital visiting my grandmother (who has been dead for more than five years. When she was on her deathbed, the hospital wouldn't let me see her because I was too young, which I believe sparked part of this dream.) She told me about some kind of conspiracy to kill her, and I had to save her today. I think I checked her out of the hospital (though I don't remember it,) and was wheeling her out on the bed for some reason, when a fire alarm not three feet from where I was standing went off. Everyone assumed I flipped it, when I know I didn't (missed dream sign), so I frantically had to get my g-ma out of there amid the crowd of people swarming me. I think I ran into someone I knew, who took her out for me, because then I was climbing around in the air ducts with someone (I don't remember who or why).

      Dream Two: Day Care Debauchery

I was around ten years old, taking care of a bunch of younger kids in a day care by myself. Along one wall, there were cubicle-like sections where most of the kids would play, and in one corner of the room were bathrooms. At the far side of the cubicle wall, there was what might be described as an office area (for a ten-year-old mind you), where I had all my important things. One of them was one of those blocks with holes in it of different shapes, that came with blocks to fit in those holes. Apparently this thing kept time itself running smoothly, but I didn't know that until later. The dream started with me just walking cubicle to cubicle, checking on the kids periodically. One of them, a little girl, was very attatched to me, and stayed near me the whole time. The weirdest part of this dream was that the little kids were WAY more perverted than anyone should ever be at that age, and every once in a while I'd catch one of them doing something they shouldn't be. At one point an argument was started between a younger girl and an older girl, and they went into the girls bathroom to fight. I was really nervous about it, but I had to follow them to stop them. Just as I walked in, the little one (who was maybe 3) chucked the older one up and over the walls of the stalls, who walked out completely unharmed. After that the argument just stopped for no reason, and we went back outside into the main area. When I went back out there, a bunch of stuff was strewn all over the floor, like empty shampoo bottles with the caps off, screwdrivers, and completely random things that, in retrospect, made no sense. I checked my office area, and the blocks that were inside the time-block were all missing. At first I didn't realize what it was for, but then I noticed that the sun had stopped moving outside and somehow knew that time was frozen due to this block. So I rounded up the kids and had them search for the blocks, and we ended up finding them, but two were too flat and irregularly shaped to fill the holes completely (which they hadn't been before). A lot of the kids gave up hope and pouted in their cubicles, but I kept looking and eventually found one in the shape of a jigsaw puzzle piece, and one in the shape of the moon. I put them into the block, which filled in the gaps. The sun started to set, and I looked back at the kids to explain it to them. I said something about how the missing pieces were the moon and the sun, and when I looked back, the jigsaw-piece was now the sun. I remember thinking it was wierd and got a sudden feeling of detatchment from the dream, almost as if a part of me now realized it wasn't real. (Funny how after the little girl throwing someone, that tiny thing was weird to me.) But then the sun stopped moving, and I told them that we had to put everything back the way it was before time froze. So we picked up the shampoo bottles and other random things, and the sun finally set completely. The kids cheered, and the little girl who had been following me around said something dirty, but it was in a very kiddish way, and I said something along the lines of "Thanks, but I can't do that." I vaguely remember a few parents arriving for their kids, then I woke up.

I was extremely groggy and only put in the tiniest amount of effort to remember the dreams I had already had when I fell asleep again, and had another short dream, that I remember absolutely nothing about. I nearly entirely forgot the first two when I finally did wake up. The first time I woke up may have been a false awakening, but I doubt it, since I've never had one before.
    2. Fire Alarm at School (Night of February 11-12, 2012)

by , 05-09-2012 at 07:32 AM (The Lab Notebook)
[This is a catch-up entry. This dream is from the night of February 11-12, 2012.]

[I'm writing this down so long after the fact that I'm not 100% sure that I have the date right. It's within 1 day of the actual date, though. This is the only dream I remember having while on my first-ever cruise. I thought it was pretty cool, funny, and interesting.]

I'm at my old high school, with my mom. [I went to the high school where my mom was a teacher, by the way.] The fire alarm goes off, emitting a continuous stream of high-pitched tones. We try to turn it off ourselves, but we can't. We go to the school administrative office and ask the principal to turn it off, because it's driving us crazy. He tells us that he can't turn it off, either.

I wake up, and can still hear the high-pitched tones. I realize the following, in this order: That's not a fire alarm. That's the ventilation system whistling. Hey, that was a real sound that was occurring in the real world, and it came through into my dream! Awesome! Also, the speed and durations of the tones was exactly the same when I heard it in the dream as it is now, further demonstrating that time passes at the same rate in dreams as it does in reality.

    3. Tibetan Monks and Gladiators

      by , 02-28-2012 at 09:50 PM
      2012-02-28
We arrive in Tibet (which I know next to nothing about, and the stuff my mind came up with ranges from wildly inaccurate to patently absurd). It is still like the world was in the time of Jesus. Everyone is very poor. I talk to one of the monks in the orange robes. I want to ask him about lucid dreaming, but there are other things to talk about first, and I let him steer the conversation. He talks about how their language, French, used to be the most widely used language, and now they are side-lined as English has taken its palce. I tell him I know I am simply lucky that my language is the widely used one. He tells me I have many years to learn other languages. I tell him about how I am trying to learn German.

There are all these quarters on the ground. I pick one up, but I get the feeling that I wasn't supposed to, so I put it back down later. Then I pick up another one later. I see the monks periodically placing them on the ground. Er... oops. I really was not supposed to do that. I try to sneakily place the quarter back on the ground, but the monk I've been talking to catches me. He yells at me, saying that picking up the quarters is very wrong, causing a curse that can hurt or kill people. He made that mistake when he was younger, and people died. I'm really sorry. I didn't know. I won't do it again.

We walk. Pretty much all of the people here besides the monks are old, poor, French-speaking women, and all the monks are men. I don't see any children, although I think there are a couple other tourists, like me. The monks provide the old women with aid and advice, where they can. The monk follows me into a room, probably on a boat. I am looking at a barbecue pork recipe on the wall, while eating a piece of barbecue chicken with my hands. He asks me what it is, and I tell him.

Outside again, the monk kisses me on the forehead. This feels very weird, and I am not comfortable with this at all.

In the night, we are woken by a loud noise. We get up to go check it out. It was just a loud machine, though. The monk talks to one of the women in French. I get separated from him somewhere along the way. I'm using my cell phone for light, where there are not other lights. I'm in the living room of my old house now. I see my mom. She jumps onto the fireplace, climbing up the brick in a way that seems creepily inhuman. On the mantelpiece above the fireplace, there are two statues. There are supposed to be four. My 'mom' takes one of the remaining statues, leering at me. She is not supposed to do that. The monks will be mad. That's much worse than when I picked up the quarters, and she is doing it on purpose! I throw my phone at her.

I wake up. It's 4:15 am. At first I just jot down some notes, but that dream was so cool/weird that I decide to write it all out in the middle of the night instead of waiting for the morning.

There's a large well. I am Ian, and the Doctor and possibly Barabara are here, too (from Doctor Who). I dropped the ring down the well, but I need to get it back. There is some sort of sprite/spirit in the well, controlling the water. First the water level goes down, then it goes back up. I dive into the water to retrieve the ring and am sucked down into a hole at the bottom of the well.

I'm travelling with a partner. We're in a shop. I buy a floppy hat. We leave the shop, which is just one small part of a bigger place. For some reason, we're signing up to fight in a gladiatorial event. The line for it is very long and slow. This place has the atmosphere of a casino. It's confusing when I finally get to the front of the line. There's a teller open, but I'm not sure I can use that one. There are signs, but somehow that just confuses me even more. Are fighters supposed to only sign up at the particular teller? I end up using the same one my friend did, after he is done. The person there thinks I am someone she knows, named Rita. I play along. Half my information (address, name, etc.) is fake anyways. I probably wouldn't get through this with a teller who didn't 'know' me. I'm nervous about being discovered, though, but eventually I am done signing up, and I get my 'lotto' tickets that I can use if I survive.

It's night. The fight will be tomorrow. The guy who runs this place is evil. I find stairs going up, but when I get to the top, there is nothing there. I guess it will lead somewhere once they're finished setting up. I go back down.

I put on the floppy hat I bought earlier. It takes me a while to get all the plastic tag bits off of it. I'm with the other gladiators. I encourage them to rebel. When the staff comes along, I attack them (oddly, just this one scene is in third person). I get completely piled on, but when the others start fighting, too, I get a chance to escape.

I walk through the fire escape door, deliberately and without hesitation, even though I know I will probably be caught quickly, since these things are well guarded. The fire alarm goes off, and I step out into a corridor. The guard outside the door seems to know me. He asks how some plot I'm supposed to know about is going. I don't know what to say, but I'm not worried about that right now. I'm looking for a door that actually leads outside. I find an office, instead. I turn around and try going the other way. I find the door that actually leads outside and I start walking along the street, eager to get away. The guard is following me like some sort of puppy, complaining about how tired he is because he didn't get any sleep last night. I tell him he wouldn't have gotten any rest if he had stayed on guard duty anyway.
    4. School fire alarm dream

by , 07-24-2011 at 09:27 AM (Awesomeness's quest for lucidity)
Real life Dream Lucid Nightmare Dream sign Thoughts

Hey guys! It's been a long time. I've had a dry spell of lucid dreams and recall, a long one, but I'm coming back! I'm starting to remember dreams again.

      School fire alarm dream
A dream. It seems like a nightmare in the end though.
I'm visiting another school in this dream. I'm in the gym at this school, doing stuff; can't remember what. After a while, we were finally done and we were exiting the gym. Up the stairs, there were two sides, the left one marked with "GIRLS" and the right one marked with "BOYS". However a large group of boys AND girls were all sitting on the "GIRLS" side, with no one on the other. I said to the group, "You don't all have to cram together on one side, you know..." and some of the boys agreed, and decided to go to the "BOYS" side.

I kept going up the stairs and crawled through the first set of dwarf doors. They were tiny! "So how do you like the gym?" someone said. "The gym is great! Getting out is the problem." I replied. "Yeah..." she agreed. Not wanting to crawl through the second set of doors, I looked for another way out. I saw some deep red fire escape stairs, the kind that swing into place, except slightly different. I asked "Can we use those without setting the alarm?" with a reply of yes. Someone jumped off the top of the stairs to the bottom, without deploying the stairs. I decided I would use the stairs, as they were not cramped at all. I pulled out a little red pin which allowed the stairs to swing into place. The second I did so,
      The fire alarm went off.

It looks like I set off the alarm on purpose! Oh no! I left the stairs, frowning, and crammed through the second set of doors. A steady stream of people was leaving the building, all because of me. The alarm didn't sound like anything I had heard at school. It was like an analog version of the Star Trek "Red Alert" sound. With the combination of all the weird things that had happened, in addition to the strangeness of the alarm, I got this creeping feeling
      I was dreaming.

I wasn't lucid enough to try anything, and even if I was, this is a lucid nightmare. Chances are I wouldn't have fun in it. I decided to do the one solution I thought of: Wake up. I closed my eyes really hard, which usually brings me to reality, however it didn't work. I started rolling around with my eyes closed and I
      woke up.

What a dream. At least I could remember it! I've had problems with recall lately.

    5. Lucid Dream 222: A Day at the Range

      by , 05-01-2011 at 04:51 PM (KingYoshi's Dream Journal...My World is Different)
      April 22, 2011
Lucid Dream 222: A Day at the Range
      Series: Friends, Episode 11
      DILD
      around 1:00pm

The first part of the dream I remember, I was at one of my house parties. The night was winding down and I was wasted. I was passing out on one end of the couch and Cliff was passing out on the other end. I told him that I would try to find him in the lucid dream I was about to have. We talked about lucid dreaming for a bit and I then closed my eyes. I immediately started seeing HI/HH and completed a brief transition into a WILD.

I got up off the couch and woke up Cliff. I told him we were dreaming. He then went and woke up my friend J-Dub and told him the same. We exited the house and I told them to follow me. I took flight and they followed. I flew for a while until I noticed something interesting. It was a driving range. I figured it would be cool to hit some golf balls in a lucid dream. We landed and there was a golf bag sitting nearby. There was also a row of bleacher behind us. There was a whole crowd of people on the bleachers watching everyone at the driving range. We started hitting golf balls and then using our lucidity to make them catch fire, travel an ungodly distance, or travel in crazy patterns.

After hitting a few golf balls, we decided to mess with the other golfers around us. I walked up behind one guy and every time he swung, I used telekinesis to knock the golf ball off the tee and he would miss. After missing several times he got pissed off. He teed up the ball and perform a very quick swing. He connected and I used telekinesis to send the ball straight up into the air. He was looking down range for his ball when I slammed it on top of his head and knocked him out. He collapsed on the ground and just laid there. I walked down to another golfer. It was actor, Richard Griffiths (Vernon Dursley from Harry Potter). I decided to mess with him a bit.

I turned to find Cliff and J-Dub, but didn't see them. I called out for Cliff a couple times and he came around the corner and said he was pissing on some golfers. I said to him, "Let me borrow your boat horn for a minute." He then reached in his pocket and pulled out a small boat horn. Just before Richard swung through the golf ball, I blew the boat horn. He hit the very top of the ball and it bounced a total of about 20 feet. He looked pissed, but didn't say anything. He teed up another golf ball and this time, I put the boat horn right next to his ear and blew it. He about fell over and shanked the golf ball completely sideways. The whole crowd on the bleachers behind me started laughing. He pulled a remote with a single red button on it out of his pocket. He pushed the button and a fire alarm started going off around us.

All of the people in the bleachers started to panic and yelled, "Fire! Everybody run for your lives!" They all scrambled and some of them fell off the bleachers. People all around started running toward their cars. As I watched them run around like mad, I felt something solid slam into my head. Richard had hit me in the head with his driver. I stumbled a bit and it actually hurt a little. Now super pissed off, I turned and started beating the shit out of Richard Griffiths. I told J-Dub to get the biggest driver he could find. I had knocked out Richard Griffiths and set him up on top of a tee. I told J-Dub to send him over the mountains. J-Dub performed the happy Gilmore swing and launched Richard into the air. He flew beyond the outer fence and landed somewhere in the woods.

We decided to make a change in location. I took flight and the two of them followed me. We flew around for a while and was about to land on top of a nearby mountain when I felt the dream fade and I woke up.

Upon waking up, I realized that I had been dreaming the entire time. I had actually WILDed within the dream. So, I classified it as a DILD.

      Series Details
In the dream series, "Friends," I join the DC counterparts of my waking life friends and tackle the dream world. You never know what we will be up to next, but I guarantee it will be one hell of a time. Stay tuned for more entries to the series!
    6. Throwdown with Rhianna

by , 04-05-2011 at 05:41 PM (Brainy Vapours)
I find him with some girl who looks like Rhianna, complete with bright red hair. She's crawling on top of him, licks his chest then goes in for the kiss, at first he responds, but then realizes I am watching and pulls back. I come out of the shadows and call the bitch out, telling her to come down (from the loft bed of some sort) and fight me. My man asks if I am seriously going to fight her and I tell him for sure I am, and that I will probably lose.

I get ther first sucker punch in and she looks surprised. I land another hit and she's hurt. Seeing that she's losing, she calls in some burly looking men to help her. There is a Flash forward to me and her and her men at some sort of door. They are all squished up against eachother as if there is no space. I warn them to stay back or I will pull the fire alarm. They seem a bit freaked out by this, then they actually point out to me that I don't have my hand positioned correctly, and show me how to do it properly.
    7. Day 2: My head is killing me

      by , 01-31-2011 at 10:15 PM (A Penrose Mind)
      Dream log day 2

My goddamn head, it feels like someone drove two nails through the sides. A very loud FIRE ALARM went off in the apartment building today so I can't remember most of the dream but I can trace it back a little bit.

There was a house. Everything was fallout 3-ish. I saw a skull and glasses on a table inside the house and picked them up the same way you would in fallout 3, point and click then it disappears into your inventory.

I restarted this scenario 3 times as if I were playing the game. Each time was different. The second time the skull and glasses were on the ground. The third time there were two dead bodies (they weren't real, they were in the fallout engine as was the rest of this sector of the dream).

They both had names showing they were husband and wife (same last names) but I can only remember the first name Glades, or something that started with Gl followed by a vowel, then a consonant, than maybe another, then an s. I'm pretty sure it was Glades though.

After that I heard a disembodied voice tell me I would see a ghost in 3, 2, 1. And right on cue the apparition of the husband appeared appeared. I believed it told me something about how it died or something like that.

I went through a door behind him which lead to the next sector of the dream. I was in the basement of my moms house (it looked a bit different) and I could here a voice upstairs. It was Bobbie's(used to be my room mate when I was living with my mom).

As I ascended to the second level of the house I saw her there with some paper on the ground along with some scissors. I think she was making something, like arts and crafts or something.

My projection of Bobbie didn't really reflect irl Bobbie, once again my projection of her was what I wanted her to be, nice, charming, and AGGGGHHH, WHY IS THE FUCKING ALARM BACK ON? JESUS FUCKING CHRIST! It isn't turning off so maybe I should just continue, or it's a real fire and I'm going to burn to death. Oh god it's three terrible noises being driven through my head all at once at a terribly high frequency!

Ah, that's better. Put on head phones, there playing my theta binaural beats. I can barely block it out, the high pitch tone is still there.

As I was saying, and not a stuck up bitch. She told me that she thought I was Charlie (my dog) and that I startled her. Charlie then ran up the stairs and accompanied her, although I didn't see him when I was down there. We talked for a couple seconds and I then found myself at a chinese restaurant.

One again the dream topography was quite odd. It seemed that the chinese restaurant was where club paradise(a strip club) was supposed to be (Oh thank god the alarm stopped) and everything to the right was based off the Dupont and Symington intersection as there was a bank right next to the chinese food store.

I think I sat down with my friends, Mansoor, Hudson, and Elmer, but I'm not sure. After we ate (I don't really remember eating) I got up and went outside. On my way out I noticed a lot of my friends were in the exact same restaurant though I didn't notice them coming in only going out.

One of these friends was a kid named Diego (a projection of someone I haven't seen for years, though my subconscious did a pretty good job of growing him up) which is pretty funny, because one of my most memorable events with him was when we were arguing in the hallway about a yugioh card with both of our parents and while that was going on a fire in Diego's house started because his mother left something cooking on the stove for too long.

Hmmmmm, coincidence? Maybe not. Perhaps in the first couple seconds of the alarm going off I couldn't actually here it in the dream yet, and Diego's projection appearing was how my subconscious acted towards it at first, since in a way the two are related.

Strange thing was, inside the restaurant it was sunshiny outside, but as soon as I got out side it was raining immensely. Roberta followed me out and instead of walking home with me ran to the bank across the street and waved me good bye.

I started heading in the direction of home, and that's when the fire alarm went off. Of course it went off on the surface which cause an immediate sector transfer. In the dream I woke up, the alarm was pounding on my head. I was told that when I got up that we needed to go to the lobby.

I took my iPod and two pillows with me. My dad went out side and told someone in the hallway not to use the elevator. We then went down to the lobby, but no matter where I went I could still here the alarm. And that's when I woke up. It probably only took a couple seconds of surface time to wake me up, but I was in the dream for at least a couple minutes, like 7. I woke up around 11:20 a.m., 31st of January, 2011.

Unfortunately the sudden transfer and high pitch loud noise caused me to lose some of my dream memory. I was under for at least an hour.

By the way, I didn't get a lot of sleep last night, and by a lot I mean any at all. For some reason (probably cause I got up at 4:00 p.m. yesterday) I couldn't sleep at all. I had one unstable mini-dream where I downed a bottle of champaign, but it quickly faded out. My mind may have trailed off to a few places in the mini-dream but it wasn't enough to become a full fledged dream.

Trying to achieve dream lucidity failed (seeing as I didn't fall asleep till around 10:00 a.m.) but then again I didn't have enough time to prepare for it. I'll do my best today to make preparations, I'll be practising the reality check and listening to the theta beats for today, along with doing more research, and hopefully this time I'll be able to do the experiments ¬_¬.

But anyway, I'm pretty proud of myself for being able to remember my dreams so clearly these days. This dream log is doing better than I expected it to ^^.

*Note, sleeping on couch achieving better results than sleeping on bed.
