    1. Lightning and old friends

      by , 11-09-2012 at 05:45 PM (Kjarva's dream journal)
I was stood outside with a group of 4 people and we were talking about writing. We were standing on a verge above the beach and it was a cold but clearish night. I can't remember what we were really talking about, but as we were talking there was a giant lighting bolt that leapt down from the sky and struck the water. We decided to go inside and one of the people I had been talking to was a young guy from my writing class. I asked him if I'd missed much and told him I'd been off due to my mother in law dying.

I'm inside now and where I am is very like the hallway at Chris's parents, on the upstairs landing. 2 people are in the bathroom, only the bathroom isn't where it should be, it's where Chris's dads room is. I enter the bathroom and in fact it's a big shower room. One of the people there is Jacqueline Casey, I can't remember who the other is. I wash my hair and somehow I'm alone. I leave the bathroom and Jacqueline beckons me into the other room. I remember there was a single bed and an ironing board in that room. We chat and I ask how many were left in the writing class (even though she's not in my class!) and had I missed much the past few weeks. A man walks into the room, I assume it's one of Jacqueline's brothers and he asks for a hair band. He disappears off to the bathroom, but then Jacqueline starts shouting 'Joseph?' down the stairway.

      Dream ends.

    2. Unwelcome Houseguests

      by , 10-14-2012 at 08:37 PM
I had this short lucid dream during a very brief mid-morning nap. Lucid napping is a first for me. I didn't perform at my best in-dream and I allow the dream to end much too soon. Also, I get beat up by a little kid. But hey, lucid is lucid! Always learning.

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

      Lucid #22: Unwelcome Houseguests

I'm holding hands with my two toddler-age sons, preparing to go outside for a walk. Before we reach the front door of th house, twin boys with curly blonde hair open the door and scurry inside. They look to be about eight years old and are complete strangers to me. This feels strange, and soon I'm lucid.

I decide that I don't want these weird kids running around in my house so I start ushering them out the door. They seem to cheerfully accept getting kicked out so my thoughts turn to lucid goals. I remember that I wanted to do the Task of the Month and replace my head with a pumpkin. But what was the other one? Ah yes, get a vampire, werewolf, or zombie to bite me. Now I remember.

Just as I'm thinking this (and probably because I'm thinking this), the twin on my left suddenly lunges at me and bites me hard on the left pec, right by my armpit. He snarls like a dog, whipping his head back and forth. I'm taken completely by surprise, both by the suddenness of the attack and by how much it actually hurts. I try to shout some kind of command at him but all that comes out is this pathetic yowl.

I blank out for a fraction of a second and my perspective switches to the top of the stairs, looking down at the scene of the attack. I have no dream body and everyone (me, my kids, the twins) is now gone from the scene. My view is turned on its side, as if I were lying down. I try to move, try to RC, but with no body there's not much that I can do.

I imagine that I'm lying here because I passed out and I'm just waking up. This seems to work! I have hands and a body again and I slowly get to me feet. Just then, I hear the sound of my alarm clock and
voluntarily wake up. But when I wake up, it's only been 15 minutes since I laid down! The alarm wasn't anywhere close to going off and I fooled myself into waking up for no reason.

napping on the couch listening to sports TV. A series of false awakenings - many. Reality checks by holding my nose. There was an extra closet door in my living room - I opened it and there was a long, white hallway with a vending machine and washer/dryer at the end of the hall. Some gnats flew in my house and gathered on the living room wall. I went to get a fly swat. On my way, I did a reality check and could fly through the roof. Tried my usual tricks - conjuring, talking to subconscious, and had no success or control at all. I find the false awakenings sort of nightmarish.
    4. An old friend changes sex and has metal rings for a stomach

      by , 05-07-2012 at 09:56 PM
      During a nap; Saturday, May 05, 2012

An old friend and occasional bedfellow moved back to town, and came over to have a sleepover, as though we were children. He didn’t want to have sex, because he didn’t want to bring up old issues, but he wanted to sleep in my bed and wake up with me. He slept over, and I kept trying to kiss him. Then he turned into a girl, and I noticed that she had a series of rotating metal rings in different patterns where her stomach should have been. It reminded me of those ear piercings people get, the ones that stretch out the earlobe until it’s a huge hole surrounded by flesh. That’s what her stomach looked like; small metal rings around the border, on the same plane as what remained of her stomach, and larger rings on the inside at a right angle to the other rings. I asked her if she was commissioned to play robots in films, and she said she was. I remember wondering how we were going to sleep together now.
    5. Meditation class

      by , 04-02-2012 at 05:14 PM
During a short nap, I’m doing a meditation practice I’ve been experimenting with. I open my eyes and I’m in a large room that reminds me of a yoga class. Someone is explaining the practice as we go.

    6. Nap Fail

      by , 01-01-2012 at 10:25 PM
      Dear Journal,
The Nap was a total fail. I can't even remember if I had a dream or not but I'll take a real sleep in a few hours so maybe that'll work. See you then.

      Something about mall and competition.

(Lately I'm noticing, tons of my dreams are about competition. I don't understand why)

      Tuesday, 12/27/2011
      took a nap around 5pm.

IWL - I spent a day reading Karen's posts about OBEs
DR- I'm sleeping on sofa and I get the vibrations, I will my body to lift up and it does. Feet first, then rest. I stand up gently next to the sofa.

IWL - after waking up, I feel the familiar feeling of headrush (fast flight through field of stars like at warp speed, headfirst) in back of my head. Something must have happend, it possibly wasn't just a dream.

Newertheless, cool feeling from the whole thing.

    8. LD--Looking for DV Members

      by , 12-20-2011 at 06:21 AM
      Old LD from 7-4-07

I took a little nap this afternoon and had another lucid dream in which I attempted the Task again.

      Nap Lucid:

I know the dream was longer, but I'll start when I became lucid.

I was somewhere, and I suddenly needed to go home and it was going to be a very long walk. I decided that it would go a lot faster if I just flew. So I took off flying. I flew along for a moment at a height of about 6-8 feet off the ground.

Suddenly it hit me--if I'm flying, I must be dreaming. And--I'm lucid.

I decided that I really wanted to try the Task again to see what other Dream View Members I could find. So I started looking around for people. I flew a little higher so I would have a better view of the streets I was flying over.

At first I was seeing no one. Then I looked out in front of me and I was a group of guys playing basket ball in the street.

I got excited becasue I just knew I was going to be able to make at least one of them be a DV member.

But as soon as I got close enough to start making out features and trying to decide if anyone looked familiar...I woke up....

Still it was a good feeling to be able to become lucid again... and so naturally. I really hope this means my dry spell is really over.

    9. Mini LD--Falling

      by , 12-20-2011 at 04:39 AM
      Old LD from 5-30-07

I got to have a good nap today. And I ended up having a nice mini-lucid.

I don't remember how it started but i was at the top of a very tall building and I started thinking something like, "If I were dreaming I would jump". And then it hit me that I was atually dreaming. So I let myself fall. At first I was thinking how I didn't feel any wind on my face as I fell, then as I thought that and became conscious of it, I did start feeling the wind on my face and the wonderful sensation of falling and knowing that it was okay.

I must have lost lucidity at that point because that is all I remember of that dream.

    10. Entry # 2 - Absent

      by , 12-09-2011 at 12:16 AM
Oh god. Last night I was so tired. I was finishing my english final so I didn't get to sleep until ten. Sadly I was so exhausted I didn't even remember falling asleep. I woke up at 2 am, like usual, and stayed awake (the exception being about ten minutes of dozing I'd get here and there).
Seeing as I don't remember my dreams lately, I'm guessing it's stress. I'm about to take a nap - my naps usually result in either SP or deep dreams. Expect another entry for after my nap~

    11. Multiple dreams remembered in one night and a dream had during a nap

      by , 12-05-2011 at 05:17 AM
A few nights ago, I was able to remember two separate dreams I had in one night, separated by a sort of mini-dream, like an intermission. It was neat.

The first dream involved some sort of scavenger hunt with my friends. We got lost in an indoor pool area...somehow.

Then my dream shifted immediately to my friends and I listening to music, and my friends aren't able to remember the title or singer of the song we were hearing. It was "Forever and Ever Amen" by Randy Travis, and I told them that, but they didn't believe me.

This somehow segued into another dream. I opened a door and was in a movie theater with just my friends. We watched a really miserable movie about a construction worker and his pickup truck, and it was so bad we started yelling and making fun of it. Basically we made our own Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Oh, and I recalled a dream I had during a power-nap at work: It wasn't much, but in my dream I was a child standing in the middle of a country road wit a group of other children. there was a loud deep voice coming from somewhere (maybe the sky?) saying "I'm warning you..." over and over again. We were all a bit scared.

A lot of interesting dreams lately.
    12. Why does my new coffeemaker have so many buttons???

      6-27-11
Midday nap. As usual for one, it's weird.

I was talking to my mom and dad about the coffee maker that a friend of mine had given me for a graduation gift, and how it was way more advanced than I could care to use.
This is, in reality, true. I had been given a coffee maker, and, indeed, it had more than and on/off switch, so I knew right away that it had more functions than I needed.
After this dream, I went and did exactly the same thing as in the dream. Weird, huh?
    13. Back to LD-ing after break

      by , 05-08-2011 at 06:20 PM
So yeah i have been slacking some with the lucid dreaming. had a few good vivid dreams and just had a lucid dream durin a mid-day nap.

I was pretty tired of the lack of sleep so i took a nap (i NEVER take naps.. EVER)..

      The dream begins...
so im walking in the basement of my house with my new iPad 2 which i take really good care of. I end up almost dropping it on the concrete floor but i save it half way but i see there is something wrong with it.. a part is haning loose.. "This can't be happening! this isnt real! this must be a dream" i thought by myself and in anger and fustration (and in hope that "please let this be a dream" i do a reality check and i realise i dream..
      i go lucid:
I realize im in my suddenly in my school and i try to look at my hands which is all blurry and stuff so i calm myself down and try to stabalize the dream which didnt go well because.. im me.. and i get too excitet.. anywho in fustration i go to a girl that i dont know and i just grab her tits of some strange reason and the dream slowly fades out

after the lucid part fades out i wake up in my bed (i fell asleep IRL on my couch) but i didnt go lucid.. i wanted to see what time it was but as soon as i moved my arm the light went on automaticly and i went "what the fuck?".. suddenly this big yellow machine went rAWRAWRAWR and blew freakin cold air on my.. my dad came in and i asked him "what is this shit?!" and he said; "it is something you mum wanted" and he walked away. i tried to fall asleep again but i coudlnt because i couldnt turn off the lights. So instead of going back to sleep i went outside on the porch where aprrently there was a lot of creepy people. i went to the end of the table and had a seat in a comfy chair when some dude offered me some prime hookah.. i wanted to take a hit but the water was gone in the vase so i tasted like shit..

The dream skips a bit and now im talked with my mum about the old song "im an urban spaceman baby, i got speed" and how cool it was when it came out and how everybody danced to that "back in the good old days"... from here the dream fades away

Preeeeeetty good catch for an one hour nap, amirite?

    14. Nap: Old Grumpy Guy & Cooling Lasers

      Nap

      Dream 1: Old Grumpy Guy

I was at a hospital watching a family visit a family member. There was an old grumpy guy with them that kept on saying sarcastic comments every now and then. They left the sick guy bandaged all up saying “see ya” and the sarcastic old guy mumbled “yea on the other side!” Then outside they all got in a white school bus. The bus was driving along and everyone was sad feeling bad leaving the guy back there and one of the older woman said “we should send him a card.” The grumpy old timer said “Card; you put it in their hand or put it on their bed cuz their dead.” All of a sudden I realized a few men were carrying this old guy in his wheelchair to the front of the bus! He was supposed to get off at the next stop but the bus kept moving slowly so they still pushed him off and remarkably he was still outside the bus’s door and didn’t fall. As our bus picked up speed I could see he had been pushed onto the back of a pickup truck and his wheel had gotten caught between the tailgate and the truck but the pickup truck he was on was still moving down the road! The grumpy guy was pushing back deep into his chair so he didn’t fall out onto the street and a kid in the truck looked back to see this and screamed “Aaaaaahhhh” like in a cartoon when crazy things happened. The scream was so funny and the grumpy guy looked so funny I started to laugh. I woke up trying not to laugh.

      Dream 2: Laser Printer

I was watching a laser printer work. The red laser was burning its image into the page with 2 blue lasers going behind it to cool the burning. I thought this system could let the laser print onto paper without a film and could be darker or lighter.
    15. Almost there!

      by , 03-23-2011 at 09:50 PM
This occurred when I was napping. I was reading a book (Homo Faber) and decided to take a nap as I was absolutely knackered, having read the book mere minutes before falling asleep might have aided in creating my dream scenario.

23rd of March 2011: non-lucid, lucid, extra comment

I was reading a book (see above) when it suddenly occurred to me that I had no recollection of how I got to this point in the story. At this point I remembered that I had fallen asleep. However, rather than utilizing the knowledge of me being in a dream, I woke up and checked my iPod clock, as I feared I had been sleeping way longer than I had intended.

On the one hand, I'm psyched that I got this close. On the other hand, I'm extremely bummed. This was stupid of me...
