      Sprinting (WILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      It's weird typing this now. A minute ago I was sprinting continuously for about ten minutes. I can't actually believe I managed to WILD this morning. Conditions were less than perfect. I'd already had a good night's sleep, my blinds were open (letting in bright light), and my bedroom door was open (letting in a loud conversation and piano playing).

      One thing going my way though was extreme drowsiness. For the third time in my life, I got trapped in sleep paralysis as I woke up. I wrote about my last waking episode in my very first post on Dreamviews (it was what led me here). I knew where I was, and the position I was lying in, and basic things like light levels in the room. I could also hear a conversation going on downstairs. -I've written down the main points of this conversation and I'll go check if what I heard was real or imagined after I type this up. It just felt like I couldn't force myself to emerge to full wakefulness, like forced laziness is the only way I can describe it. Mentally, I was trying to move, but all my limbs seemed to have lost their juice. Anyway, having missed out on lucidity in countless dreams last night, I thought I might as well use it to my advantage.

      On my first attempt, I
      could gradually see the inside of a car. I was in the back seat, and it was driving along a road I know well. The funny thing was, I could still feel my body, and I couldn't tell if my eyes were open or closed. I opened my eyes a bit and could see slightly clearer, but I'm almost sure my real eyes opened too- they just weren't sending any input to my brain.

      I woke up and the sleep paralysis broke. I rolled over and tried again. Quite quickly this time, I had a false awakening in my own bed. I can't be sure if I was still hearing conversations from downstairs, or my mind just invented a likely conversation to go along with the "awakening". I went downstairs and left through the front door as my mum was letting out whatever visitors were in the house. I'd love to know if their actual departure and my dream line up. I started running down the street, doing long floating jumps over bushes, people and cars. I thought about the task of the year, but the only one I could remember off the top of my head was "Give fire to Early Man". I didn't think I could hold the dream together long enough to do anything that complex, so I decided instead to just do some random exploration. When I got to the bottom of my street I turned right onto the larger road. But instead of the road I expected, I was surprised to find myself back on my own street- about a mile back along the road.
      "Oh well," I said. My mouth still wasn't cooperating fully. I took off sprinting. The exertion really helped anchor me in the dream and made things around me clearer. I saw some unidentifiable roadkill at the side of the road, and then a Tesco supermarket which definitely isn't there in real life. It was in the position of an old industrial site. I was still sprinting, and actually taking deep breaths. I'm not sure what the point of that was, maybe to make the scenario more realistic, or to keep my heart rate down or something.



      I got stuck behind a crowd of people outside Tesco. During that time, I decided to get out my phone. In my dream, I was wearing my dressing gown (which I guess I assumed I was wearing in real life, but wasn't), but I reached beneath it expecting to find my jeans- which I did. I felt inside the pocket, and pulled something out. I actually laughed out loud at the result. It looked like some kid had crudely nailed together several pieces of wood to make a giant replica of a phone. There were no buttons or a screen. However, there was a hole in the middle of it. I poked about inside and thought I felt something. I whacked the side of the big phone, and my ancient Nokia 3310 dropped out. It still had the green cover I put on it the last time I had it (in like 2002). When I tried to use it
      I woke up.

      These are the subjects of the conversations I heard. I'll check if they were real and report back.

      EDIT: Turns out they were talking about Scott Joplin, but the others were my imagination. Thinking about it, there were definitely some images associated with the others, I should have guessed they were made up.

      Behold, my massive HvZ/Star Wars/Fable/White Collar/Inception/Supernatural/Good Omens crossover dream. Includes characters from Inception, but no spoilers.

      08/01/10

      My brother and I are sneaking into our cousins' house, playing a game of what amounts to Humans vs. Zombies, but with more humans trying to "kill" each other.

      My aunt catches us in the house. Her face is red and she attempts to loom over us threateningly. "You're trespassing, you know."

      "I don't think that's against the rules." Ben says, considering.

      "But we are sorry. Truly, sincerely sorry," I lie. "Really. We should go."

      I look around. I'm in a mountainous region surrounded by pillars of ice and concrete bunkers. I'm close to the top of a mountain, on a snowy path.

      I pull out my phone and look at it. If Hazel's speed dial "8", I could probably reach my brother the same way. I press "1".

      The line picks up.

      "Hey, Ben. What the hell happened to you?"

      "Kkkshhk...separated...zombies...meet up...later."

      The line goes dead.

      I shrug, knowing that Ben can take care of himself. I look out over the snowy plains, at once clouded and sunny. It looks like a video game environment. Paths leading to certain places, all of the corners rounded and indistinct... If I didn't know any better, I'd say I was on Hoth.

      "Hands in the air," says a voice, crackling and metallic.

      I turn around slowly, pasting a smile onto my face.

      Leaning against the concrete wall of the control room, I remain nonchalant as two of the guards keep their weapons trained on me. I was surprised when I realized that they weren't Stormtroopers, and weren't Rebels either. The group that I've let myself be captured by are dark-siders of a different sort, and I haven't yet figured out who they're working for.

      The human male in the corner is force sensitive, but not trained. He has short black hair, plain dark clothing, and is probably in his late teens. He's either looking at me with distrust or he's sulking over the pot of cold coffee on the counter. I haven't decided.

      The apparent leader is a female Zabrak. Her dark hair is cut in a short bob, and she's going through my personal effects. Finally, she picks up my dual lightsabers in each hand. I shift my weight to my other foot. One of the guards hisses a breath and clutches at his weapon tightly.

      "Twitchy, twitchy." I say, eyeing the terrified guard. "Someone could get hurt."

      "I'd be careful, Jedi," the leader hisses at me, still holding my lightsabers. "We have you at a disadvantage."

      "Do you really?" I ask, amused. I motion with my hand. On the other side of the room, the coffee pours upward into the air, forming an amorphous blob and flying into the face of the sulking teenager. The boy starts to curse, but the woman in front of me barely seems to notice.

      "There's very little difference between the Jedi and the Sith."

      "You're telling me." I say, "One of those lightsabers is red, you know."

      A blood-curdling roar is unleashed from outside. The bunker shakes from its very foundations. Outside in the darkness, I can sense the fury of the beast, aimed at the creatures encroaching on its territory. Us.

      "I wonder what happened to the Imperials that built this station." I say quietly, meeting the eyes of the leader.

      My dual sabers are in my hands and light up in the next instant, glowing red and blue (and I'm my female Exile character from KOTOR 2). The woman raises her hands. I watch as the blades are folded up into sheets of blunt metal, and look at the woman mournfully.

      "You are no fun at all," I say, yanking a pistol from a guard across the room. "Try not to die."

      I see a flash of red through the blinding snowstorm. I aim my pistol and shoot three times before it disappears. I hear a roar through the storm, and can barely see the outline of the monster's arms raised into the air before I'm dashing across the arena, dodging the cracks that appear in the ground.

      "Coffee?" I ask brightly, pushing a cup towards the teenager. He scowls but takes the cup.

      "That was a mean trick," he says, "I like coffee."

      "No, messing with someone's lightsaber, that's a mean trick." I pause, "The coffee was just funny."

      He's still angry, but he seems to be hiding a smile as well.

      "Master Kenobi. In my study, you will meet me," says a voice over my comlink.

      "Of course, Master Yoda."

      Yoda shows me over to a glass case filled with crystals and gemstones. He motions me to look at them. I find myself drawn to a black piece of rock the size of my palm, smooth and glassy, with waves rippling over the surface. I stare at it, intrigued, and look back at Yoda for permission.



      He nods.

      I feel for the orange piece of Carnelian in my left pocket, reassured when it's still there. Turning my attention back to the shelf, I pick up the rock carefully, touching it only with my fingertips, and turn it to lie flat on my palm.

      I breathe in, allowing the power in the stone to ground me. I feel...

      "There's a darkness to this," I say, as if I'm in a trance. "It has a history with death, it's beautiful, it feels cool, the temperature, I mean. I can feel it echoing through me... ignacious, born of fire and now... cold, complete, rational -"

      "Back on the shelf, you should put it," says Yoda sharply.

      I set the rock back on the shelf, drawing a shaky breath. I want to pick up the rock again, feel for the green crystal that I know should be there, break it in two and give the other half to the person who should have it... Stop it, you're supposed to be Obi-Wan.

      "See, you do, the power inherent in these crystals." Yoda says, "Yours, one of them will be, should you take on an apprentice."

      I smile, leaning against one of the white walls. I'd wondered why the force-sensitive teenager felt so familiar. Amon?

      I shake myself. "We have a mission," I say reprovingly, "Are you trying to distract me, Master Yoda?"

      "Hmph. Dream of it, I wouldn't."

      I take on the guise of Neal Caffrey, all smiles and warm handshakes as we bluff our way into Saito's mansion. Ariadne and Scott Summers back me up, along with four men and women in suits that follow us demurely.

      Our whole group is surrounded by Saito's bodyguards, and my companions are feeling intimidated, grouping together until they're nearly touching elbows. I pretend not to notice, and focus on the conversation with Saito as he shows us around his mansion.

      We stop by the swimming pool. We're more or less openly flirting right now, and I'm drawing on the Neal Caffrey personality in order to distance myself and appear more outgoing. My form is flickering now, male to female and back again, through half a dozen personalities before settling back on Neal. No one seems to notice.

      I fall into the water, pleased to feel the shock of cold on my skin. It feels wonderful, and I let myself sigh in pleasure before I force myself to concentrate. I climb the steps up onto the deck, my clothes holding none of the moisture.

      Saito is yelling at his guard for jostling me, and apologizes. I tell him not to worry, but that I need to talk to my doctor, as I may have broken one of my ribs. The man points out the change rooms on the other side of the pool.

      "Doctor?" I say, holding out an elbow for Ariadne. She looks surprised, but catches herself and nods. She threads her arm through mine and we walk towards the change rooms.

      "Doctor?" she hisses.

      "It's improv, Ariadne." I say, smiling. "Just go with it."

      We round the corner and Ariadne steps away, brushing at her arm. I flirt with her as she touches my temples, exposing the wiring there.

      "I need to upload the schematics to your mind," I tell her, "So that I can stay behind while you get Xavier the information."

      "And why is it you're staying behind?" She asks, skeptical.

      "There's something bigger going on here," I say quietly. "I need to convince Saito I'm on his side. You get the others out, and I'll figure out what's going on."

      Ariadne steps back, nodding reluctantly.

      I decide to give Cyclops the information, since his visor will work as a direct transference point into his temples. (What?) A quick shock, and he's ready to head back home.

      ***

      "Not so fast," says Saito.

      We're standing outside in a courtyard, surrounded by enemies. The DCs in business suits are entirely useless, and for some reason, I have to keep them alive. Guards have automatic weapons trained on us, and I'm practically staring down one of the barrels as I raise my hands slowly, ready to talk my way out of this. Ariadne shoots me a look, clearly worried. Cyclops is ready to start a fight.

      Saito is overconfident. I can use that, but I need to get the others away first. I need Yoda and Xavier to owe me a favour, dammit, and that isn't going to happen if I get their people killed.

      Bright white light explodes from the far end of the courtyard, and a shockwave knocks the guards to the ground and disarms them. Not limited by human sight, I swing around to face the four pillars of light materializing on the ground before us. One of the pillars is wreathed in red flames that fan outward, scorching the earth around it.

      The light coalesces into four human figures, three of them standing in a ring behind their leader.

      He is never going to let me live this down.

      "Castiel." I greet him, but the angel is already barking orders to the other three, sending them into the fray to grab my people and transport them back to the compound. Ariadne catches my eye as she disappears, and I can see all of the questions written across her face.

      Until the only ones left standing are me, Saito, and Castiel. I let my false face fall away, and I turn to say something to Saito.

      The dream fades.

      Mansions of Silence. Scare Factor: 3.

      Looks like Castiel and I are 1:1 for rescues.

    3. tapping into subconscious??? very wierd

      This is actually a dream i had a few weeks ago, but decided to write it down becuase i found this dream transcription hiding in a random folder on my computer. I was in my kia, and got in some kind of accident. I was putting the car in reverse and the gear wasn’t catching and then all of a sudden the car slid over, sideways, really fast and hit another car. The people got out of the car and there were two girls in the back. One was acting mentally retarded, presumably from the accident. She didn’t look physically hurt, she was just making stupid faces and acting strange, and i felt terrible because i felt responsible. The parents were freakin out. They wanted me to call the ambulance. For some reason I didn’t do it, because I was afraid I would get in trouble I guess. That’s how I felt the whole dream, like I was trying to get out of trouble, and also a deep feeling of shame. Then later, I’m at a semi formal party, with jesse h, we had been going there and the girls and her mom were there and they were looking at us the whole time. Occasionally they talked to other people, I suspected they were telling them how I messed up their daughter. Then all of a sudden this guy comes out of nowhere, running quckly towards me, then jumps in midair and punches me in the face. It was extremely painful. He beat me mercilessly. I tried to get away. Put up a pathetic fight. I vomited in the dream and he continued to beat me. FInally at the worst of the beating, he's standing over me, kicking me and cursing at me for fucking up his daughter. My upper jawline came out of place and my teeth were sticking out strangely. Everyone was staring. I felt humiliated and ashamed. I could feel the punches. I actually felt nauseous. Then abruptly he left and took his family with him. I pulled myself together, but was embarrassed. Other people came to talk to me. Told me that it was wrong of me to not have called the ambulance and to have hit their car. I asked one person to testify for me in court. His first name was argo. Assumed he was Italian. He said that he felt uncomfortable testifying in court because the guy who hit me was actually his friend and apparently a really good guy, even though he personally thought that the guy who beat me was overreacting.
      = END OF DREAM;

      I woke up. Next morning I went into the kitchen and saw a bunch of canned foods on the counter. There was a can of green beans on the counter and the brand name was “ARGO” in big bold letters. I do not recall ever having paid attention to the cans and can't recall having heard of the brand name. however, i immediately recognized the name from when i was in my dream and then felt compelled to write it down before i forgot.

      This was my first dream in quite a while. Anyways, I'm riding in a Humvee with two people I don't know, and I suddenly realize there is a Peacekeeper (Link to Sporepedia) from Spore: Galactic Adventures walking behind me, and a town in front of me. Well, I decide to use the Peacekeeper's four forward-mounted rail guns to rain havoc down on the small desert town. Spontaneously, the towering machine's leg cap falls off, and the people in the Humvee with me say I'll have to fix it. Then I just decide to nuke the town with one of the Peacekeeper's twelve reloadable ICBMs, then I wake up.

    5. 8 Days, no Video Games

      These dreams took place during a trip to norway with my family for 8 days. Turns out that 8 days with no video gaming affects my mind a bit. Another point to mention was that at the time, I was really looking forward to getting an Xbox 360 to get Grand Theft Auto IV and Skate, but mostly GTA IV. In fact, I was obsessed with the idea of the Euphoria engine, I would get extremely restless just thinking about the physics, I felt like I NEEDED to try it out.
      And as an added spice, on a trip like this, being surrounded by family at all times, made it impossible to, err, relieve sexual tension - Which also, it turns out, affects my mind a bit.
      I was 15 years old at the time.

      Extremely interesting!
      I had trouble sleeping, so I didn't remember a thing when I woke up. Intense!

      [B]Second Day! #5[/B]
      [COLOR="RoyalBlue"]So, I'm in [B]Team Fortress 2[/B], I'm a spy, I think I'm on the blue team. I remember backstabbing loads of people, and sapping alot of enemy machines. Then I get into a small dark room. There is a little corner in the end, and alot of windows leading out to darkness.
      Now there are spies in all those windows, but not Team Fortress spies, these are the spies from [B]Splinter Cell[/B] with 3 green glowing goggles. I can see a laser aim coming from their guns, and the only place I can be without them tazing me is in that little corner in the end.
      In the end I backstab them all one by one, can't remember how.[/COLOR]

      At this point, I wake up, in the middle of the night. This is before I got the paper to me, and I didn't want to wake anybody up. So I began making up keywords, such as "Team Fortress 2, Splinter Cell, Spies" to remember it. I have no idea how much I lost.
      Then I fell asleep again;

      [COLOR="RoyalBlue"]I'm in a laboratory, but only for a very short time, I head out of a door, and there is a road leading over to a small temple. Sort of Aztec-like temple.
      Theres something about a jeep around the road here. In the temple there is a sliding, metallic door. I go in.
      The temple is apperantly completely hollow, and it is dark in there, a big round light is brightening the middle of the room up. There is a white, old looking car in the middle, and a lady standing besides it.
      I know that I have to go over to her, she wants to have an interview with me. But no, I am actually spying on her, and I fear that something bad may happen if I do. So I walk up some stairs to my right instead. It's a spiral staircase. I get into a bright room with a ventilation system.
      I think I'm [B]Solid Snake[/B] now, because I crawl under a table to get into the ventilation, so I can spy on the lady from the top, but a guy in white/grey camouflage with an AK-47 points at me.
      I decide that I can't do anything, so I just load last saved game and head inside the main door again.
      This time I take the interview, and I am partly successful, however, I think I was also supposed to get a ring or something from her.
      I go back to the spiral staircase, but I head down. Down there, I see a fat guy walking across or towards me, he has a wobbly stomach. (I think much like the guy in [B]Pirates of the Carribean 3[/B])
      I walk up again. I open a door and see a guard, he is a character from [B]Oblivion[/B]. He wears an expensive green shirt and black pants.[/COLOR]
      NOTE: This combination of clothing is what I used for my character.

      [COLOR="RoyalBlue"]This guy was a human race though, while mine was a Khajiit (Cat/human race)
      He also has a huge glowing sword, I think it is the Dawn/Duskfang. He is walking towards me.
      I hide behind the door, I don't want to fight him.
      However, he sees me again. I even see an in combat symbol.
      I kill him, weak memory though.
      Then I head to the top of the temple, on the roof. Now there are two temples, two identical temples with a bridge leading to the other.
      Suddenly, I am using [B]telekinesis[/B] to throw guards away. I remember that I had to put my hand up infront of me, and make it look like I was pinching their body to grab them, then I just had to point with my finger where I wanted them, and if I poked into the air, they would be thrown away.
      I see three [B]anime-like girls[/B] sliding around. They are standing in a row, sliding around like in games when the character's animation is missing.
      One has green hair, and another has purple, I forgot what the last one looked like. I want to see who the purple-haired is, so I want to throw the others away.
      I pick one up and throw her away. Damnit, I accidentaly threw the purple haired one away.
      I load last saved again. Now I am standing at the bottom of a hill, and the temples are on the top, on the hill, theres a girrafe. I think, in the dream that this was probably one of those mods I downloaded which werent working right, because there werent supposed to be girrafes here.
      It's also standing in a wierd way, like it isn't supposed to be standing on a hill because of it's animation. Only it's front legs touch the ground, the back legs are hovering because the ground is not flat beneath it.
      So I pick it up and throw it away, it lands in a lake. I am impressed by the graphics when it suddenly made dynamic waves in the water. I pick it up again, and splash it around a bit, then I throw it away untill it's finally out of sight.
      There are two girrafes, so I pick the other one up aswell and throw it out of sight.
      Then I go up again to the top, I don't remember throwing the 2 girls away, but I remember meeting the purple haired one.
      On the top, her hair is completely purple, and at the ends it gets pink. There is a slight bit of glitter in it. Her facial expression reminds me alot of [URL="http://img363.imageshack.us/img363/3128/shinku27kt.png"]Shinku[/URL] from [B]Rozen Maiden[/B] (Anime)[/COLOR]

      I looked up on [url=http://www.dreammoods.com/]An Online Guide To Dream Interpretation[/url] and looked up her hair color.
      Keep in mind that I didn't even know that colors were symbols for anything in dreams before someone linked to Dreammoods, yet I thought, when I read it on that site, that both purple and pink were fitting to what I felt and how I felt about the girl.

      Now I've even managed to take the hair off, and I'm painting it with paint, I mess up big time, since I end up painting the hole where the head fits, so now it's just a ball with a few small holes and hair. I've also managed to paint it so it looks partly like a football. She is sort of angry, and I'm embarrased.[/COLOR]

      I don't remember anything again.

      [B]Fourth Day! #6[/B]
      [COLOR="RoyalBlue"]So I'm in [B]Team Fortress 2[/B] again, everyone on red is playing Sniper, and I'm playing Spy again. The map is sort of like [URL="http://image.www.gametracker.com/images/maps/160x120/tf2/ctf_2fort.jpg"]ctf_2fort[/URL] but instead of one straight bridge leading over water to the other teams base, it's a bridge that goes to the left and ends in a little hut, and then a bridge going to the right, meeting up with another bridge heading straight to the other base. I'm at the end of it, and there are snipers standing everywhere on it. I backstab one in the hut, but I'm having trouble killing the one on the bridge. He is my nemesis, he keeps killing me, and I'm trying to get revenge. His name was exactly "CorrytE". [/COLOR]([I]Likely to be Korrite from here, DreamViews because of that flaming that happened in the Beyond Dreaming section xD Strange, methinks. I didn't even join the arguing, I just read the threads.[/I])

      [COLOR="RoyalBlue"]I'm watching [B]Pirates of the Carribean[/B], I see Jack Sparrow get up on the deck from the water.
      In the dream, I had forgotten the ending.

      [COLOR="RoyalBlue"]I've taken a train, however I find out it's heading the wrong way. It's heading somewhere called "Mayans". Infront of me theres a young boy. I am sitting in the right side. On the left side, and one seat back, a girl begins to sing [URL="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPw4zyQQi84"]This Broken Soul[/URL]
      I remember hearing the song very clearly.
      I begin singing along without sound, but then she begins to tease me about not knowing the lyrics to the song, however, she calls the song something completely different.[/COLOR]

      Suddenly, I am at a hangar, or well, something ship and industrial related. Me, my father and my littlebrother falls into the water. We attempt to crawl up a ladder, my littlebrother falls in again, and my father rescues him. We head into a dark room with a train in the middle.
      I crawl up on the train, there is some plastic bags with bullets in. Suddenly, Madness Combat people come rushing out of the doors. I shoot them with the gun, but there are too many of them. One of them has a katana and is running around to train to get me. The sheriff is there aswell.
      I jump down, now the katana guy is heading directly towards me. I am out of bullets. I run around the train, hit a few people, run abit and then there is the Sheriff, he has a sumbrero on and he has a katana too. I take it from him and cut a few people up.[/COLOR]
      I don't remember if I kill the sheriff or not.

      [COLOR="RoyalBlue"]I'm playing [B]World of Warcraft[/B] now, I make an Alliance Rogue, because I've gotten the new expansion pack, [B]Wrath of the Lich King[/B]. In my dream, after you have hit level 70 with one character, you can create a level 70 character of the same class as many time as you like, so that's what I did.[/COLOR]
      ([I]In reality, after you beat a quest after level 70, you are able to make a level ~55 Death Knight, that's probably what I confused things with[/I])[B]EDIT:[/B]([I]<- Actually, no, this comment shows that I had the dream before Wrath of the Lich King came out, as I was also grossly mistaken out of dream. Now, however, I know that you can make a Death Knight at any time you want, but you have to sacrifice your old character, and the Death Knight will be at the same level as the old character... <.<...)[/I][COLOR="RoyalBlue"]
      The graphics are extremely improved. There are nice shadows and lightening. I get a free flying mount to get around the city. It's a dark city, and there are Blood Elf guards all over, even though I am alliance. There are also alot of Blood Elf flags. I can't find my way around, so I delete that character again. I make an Undead Rogue instead. He has white hair hanging down infront of one eye. His face, nose and below is hidden by a piece of cloth, it is transperant and has a very bright red color. There are two long pieces of cloth hanging down behind, they are ragdoll when you run.
      He has Gladiator Set 1 (Dark green) On his back there is a big orange-glowing spear. He has another big orange-glowing spear in his hands. I'm impressed that he can hold a 2hand weapon!

      Now I'm in [B]Spyro[/B], in a very bright level with a cream/red/white color theme, I think it's in the sky, since there are clouds below the map. Theres a huge [i] table [/i]([I]I know, what the hell[/I]) looking at me, the sides are made of glass and there are animals inside it. I destroy it, now the animals are just standing in a net.

      Now I'm in [B]Splinter Cell[/B], I'm with someone else, there are two towers close to the Mercenaries base, with data we need to hack ontop. He begins to hack before I do, and then I begin, he's pretty close to getting done while I'm only halfway. I look at the map, the mercenaries have respawned.
      I hope they go to my mate so we can both hack. They do. He gets done hacking before they reach him, and now they are too far away to get to me. Then we go down and fight them.
      Theres one of them who has alot of armor and a mask on. We think it is Metal Gear armor he has on. And we decide that the next 10 bosses are going to have similar masks aswell. I remember the wierd sound that flying mask from [B]Crash Bandicoot[/B] used to say when you got invincibilty gold mask thing. Hoogabookaba![/COLOR]

      [B]Eighth Day! #10[/B]
      The day we are going home
      Alot of details slipped out of this one. This one made no sense at all to me, it seems like my brain decided to make up a huge adventure story.

      [COLOR="RoyalBlue"]Anyways, there's a masculine Trailer-to-a-movie-like voice saying something, while I see a little boy getting ready to get on a bus. He looks sad, the weather is grey and rainy. The bus runs over the boy, but the boy ends up in a hollow space underneath the bus. No sense at all. Voice says something like 'everything was normal and sad, every day – untill something happened'
      The view pans around a statue of two tall but fat buildings with a long bridge between them.
      It looks like there's an explosion under it, making it deform, the bridge almost snaps, and the buildings move away from each other. Ther's a large crack in the ground under the statue.
      There are lots of people around it.
      Now we're in a mans home. There's a lady from another world, she's sort of fairy-like, or maybe angel-like. There's something about doors. I can't remember what it is, but it's something only she can do, with doors, and it limits her somehow.
      I think the man is the boy from the beginning.
      Now the man is in a dark building, fighting some shadow.
      He his drawing power from his successful company's energy source. He is the leader of some energy producing company, and the company owns a huge energy producing tower. He uses the energy to beat the shadow.
      Now doors have been locked to the lady, she is angry that she has many restrictions, she thinks she's being used.
      Something now happens that deletes all worlds, sending the lady to the first world ever created, it's also apperantly a backup world. It's pitch black. There's a tree with a face with a slight blue glow around it. Some glowing rocks are floating around the tree. It starts to talk "Let me introduce you to the worlds first and most vulnerable thing; Portals!" a blue portal is formed in front of the tree.[/COLOR]

      That was it, that's a whole crazy lot of Video Game related dreams.
      Even though I said I am video game 'addicted' I don't think it's as bad as it could be, infact I don't even think it's enough to be called 'bad'. Which is why I find it interesting that it has a so big influence on my dreams when I go without them...
      And keep in mind, I was 15 at the time. I don't even play these games any more. All I play now is Touhou and WoW.

    6. Success! (if tiny and fleeting)

      My very first moments of lucidity in dreamland. Before I went to sleep I repeated to myself, "I'm dreaming." A couple of dreams later, one of my dream characters told me, "You're dreaming!" He said it twice and then I gasped and said, "I'm dreaming!" at which point I had a strange rushing feeling and everything went blank. I was waking up so quickly and I was so taken by surprise I didn't think to spin. When fully awake I almost didn't believe it had happened.

      I started my dream log on the 25th of July, so it's been just over a week from my decision to lucid dream to my first successful experience. Considering that I've never had a lucid dream before, even by accident, I consider this enormously encouraging. Thanks, fellow dreamers, for your support.

    7. Night 6: Excursions with magical cats and first lucid dream

      Finally got lucid tonight! WBTB certainly is a miracle technique.

      Last night I had a terrible time trying to sleep because I'm currently out of town staying in a hotel with my family. As such, I'm sharing a bed at the moment with my eleven-year-old brother, and he's quite...active when he sleeps. So I really didn't fall asleep very hard until he'd gotten out of bed.

      Once I was asleep I know I was at a friend's house. He's the same friend from my first dream journal who sells weed, but this dream had nothing to do with that. I was staying at his house, which was unusual because I've never done that before, and I think he really needed me to leave (along with many other people who were also there) because either his parents were home and didn't want us there or they were going to be home very soon and wouldn't like that we were there. Either way, that's all I remember of that.

      The only thing I remember of the dream after that is grabbing my ex-girlfriend by the sides of her face for some reason.

      After that I was definitely walking through some very deep snow, and I was with a couple people, but they weren't anyone I know. I don't really know where we were going or what we were doing, but there were some very definite distances ingrained in my head for some reason (25 being one of them, but because I didn't think of any units I don't know if that was 25 feet, 25 meters, 25 miles...it was just 25). Whoever I was with wanted to return to wherever we'd come from, and I followed suit. That's probably about when my brother got out of bed and I was able to really fall asleep.

      Before that though, my mother woke me up, so I was awake for a while. I was in sort of a vague sleep for a while, one where, if I tried to, I could easily shake myself awake, but I didn't want to because I was trying to visualize. I tried to visualize my dream guide from last night, the cat with the wizard's hat on, and it actually worked. I pictured myself in the same clearing with the same brick laid beneath me as when I met him last night, and he was suddenly there. We started walking through the forest that surrounded us and I think we were talking about a task he had for me to do. Eventually we came upon a house in which he said was someone whose dreams I had to infiltrate. Somehow this was supposed to increase my ability to control my own dreams, but I wasn't sure how. Either way, I trusted him, and I climbed the hill next to the house and dropped in through a hole in the roof. What I came upon inside wasn't another person, but actually myself. A direct copy of me. I think we talked a little, but I don't remember what was said, because soon after we broke into a fistfight. It wasn't a particularly drawn out fight, and eventually I pinned my other self on the ground and punched him in the face a few times. It was then that I understood: My dream guide was having me break into my own mind, break through my own mental blocks in order to achieve lucidity. So I gave my other self a headbutt and felt myself literally melt into him. Our dreams became one, and I fell deeper into the dream.

      The next thing I remember is being with the character Banjo from the N64 game Banjo-Kazooie, if any of you are familiar with that. We were in somewhat of a secret corridor I guess, and we were trying to figure out how to get into the next room without alerting the guards. I immediately realized Banjo could shoot eggs from his mouth (even though Kazooie is the one who can in the games) and for some reason thought that if I squeezed one of Banjo's boobs (which he doesn't have, because he's a dude) it would shoot the eggs out. So we were trying to aim at the guards and were preparing to shoot when we both realized that Kazooie, Banjo's bird friend, was in the next room anyway and could probably take care of the guards herself. So I continued on, but Banjo didn't follow me.

      I found myself at the top of a fairly long staircase. At the bottom was my girlfriend, and I ran down to see her. She was evidently upset because she was at an orientation of sorts for a biology class that she was going to take and she thought it was stupid I guess. We were in a dark room. I remember seeing another young lady whom I recognized from high school, but I don't remember who it was. I think her boyfriend was there too but I don't exactly remember...regardless, I eventually found myself sitting in a nice cushy chair when my old physics teacher came in, saying that he was the one that was giving the orientation because Mrs. Hoikka, the actual teacher of the class, wasn't able to make it, and since he also had experience teaching biology she had asked him to cover. I think I stood up at that point and that's about when I realized I had induced this dream myself. I had a brief conversation with him. I think he was talking about some of his gripes with the government for some reason, probably in relation to state benchmarks that he was required to teach that he didn't think were necessarily important. I achieved a growing level of lucidity as the conversation progressed, and eventually I started to feel the dream breakdown. I tried to think of how to stabilize it, remembering that spinning in circles was supposed to help keep things intact, but I remember thinking that that would probably seem weird to my teacher, so I didn't try it. Unfortunately I should have, because the dream broke down completely after that and I woke up.

      Regardless, I finally attained lucidity, so I'm happy about that.

      Sam and Dean want to kill the devil. I "help".

      Sam climbs into the passenger seat of the Impala and slips on the pair of sunglasses resting on the dash. He lets his head fall back onto the seat and rubs his temples. (I marvel over the strange purple glow of our surroundings.) The driver's side door slams shut, and he lifts up his head. Dean has his hands clenched tight on the steering wheel, and stares into the desert horizon with his jaw clenched. Frustration seems to roll off him in waves.

      They're back on the road before either of them says anything.

      "So," says Dean, "We can either drive to Death Valley, or fly to the Himalayas." His tone makes it clear what he thinks of the idea.

      "Death Valley's closer."

      Dean raises his eyebrows, "With our luck, do you really think the devil managed to stay stateside?"

      "I'd rather go to the Himalayas, personally." I say.

      The car almost lurches off the road. Dean twists around in his seat to look at me. "Don't do that."

      "We have wooden stakes in the trunk." Sam says mildly. "Trickster."

      "When has that ever worked?" I ask. "Anyway, why are we going to the Himalayas?"

      "We're not." growls Dean. His eyes are back on the road.

      "We're trying to kill the devil." Sam says reasonably.

      "Oh," I say, nodding along. "Why?"

      "You know," says Dean, "Prevent the apocalypse, save humanity, that kind of thing?"

      "There's a system of doors in Tibet that lead into other worlds. A psychic we talked to said that Lucifer left traces in the mountains that are somehow tied to these portals."

      "The Nevernever." I say. "Yeah, we should check it out. Keep an eye out for vegan faeries."

      "Right, I'm sure they're vicious little buggers," says Dean.

      "Oh, they are. Somehow, human flesh satisfies the parameters of their diet."

      ***

      "Nice office," says Dean, flopping gracelessly onto a black leather chair. He puts his feet up onto the desk. Bits of dirt flake off of his shoes onto the polished surface, and I hide a grin.

      Sam just looks annoyed.

      "Most of the objects in this room move along certain paths," I say, "Like levers. Get the right arrangement and the door will open right up."

      "Unless, of course, you know a shortcut." The voice is British, and female, and I turn around to study her.

      "Bela." says Dean. "Back from Hell already?"

      "Someone had a job for me," she says, holding up a gun and pointing it at him, "And I am very good at my job." She smiles. "By the way, you might want to hurry. I informed security you were here."

      Our eyes are drawn to the other hallway, where we hear a door click open. I look back. Bela's gone.

      "God-fucking-dammit," says Dean.

      "You figure out the combination," I say. "I'll distract him."

      I stride into the hallway without looking back. Standing there, looking livid, is a man in a business suit. He's big and round, and his hair is white where he still has any. He slams the door behind him.

      "Do you know who I am?" says the man, furious, "Do you know what I could do to you?" He pulls out a gun and points it at me.

      "Not much?" I say, pretending to consider. "Relax. We need your door to the Nevernever, and then we'll be out of your hair."

      "Impudence!" He snarls, "Just like my youngest son! I'll have you all killed!" He starts ranting about his plan to have me implicated in a gay affair with his son, followed by an elaborate murder-suicide.

      I peer around the corner into the main office, since he's not actually paying much attention to me. Like I'd hoped, the Winchesters are gone. I turn back to the man, who by this time is ranting incoherently. I cough politely, hoping to get his attention.

      He stops, panting.

      "While that's a very... impressive evil plan (and you wouldn't have much trouble framing those two for anything) there is one tiny little flaw."

      "And what is that?"

      "I don't die."

      The old man laughs and raises his hand - only to realize that he's no longer holding the gun. He freezes in shock and I wave a hand, banishing the Corrupt Corporate Executive to the late 51st century. He really won't like it there.

      I take Bela's shortcut into the Nevernever, circumventing the need to play with furniture again. I appear at the top of a cliff covered in vegetation, which overlooks a hotel swimming pool and hot tub.

      Sam and Dean stand on one side of the pool, facing off against Bela on the other side. I look for a way down, but there isn't one. I resign myself to jumping the fifteen-odd meters, knowing that there's no way for the fall to hurt me. I aim for the tile floor -

      Only to land on the very edge of the pool. My feet impact the edge of the tile floor and slip off the edge into the water. I grit my teeth, feeling my dream-body reset itself, and I pull myself back onto the deck.

      "You okay?" Asks Sam.

      "Fine," I say, standing up and composing myself. "I don't die, as a rule." I notice Dean's weapon is trained on Bela. "Neither will she, you idiot."

      As if in response, Bela spits a gob of blood onto the tile.

      "Oh," I say, "They gave you a time limit."

      "Apparently we're looking for different things," she says, her voice low, "Don't get in my way." She turns around and disappears into the cave system on the other side of the room.

      There's a collective breath of relief.

      "So," I say, turning to the boys, "Did you have a plan?"

      "Find the devil," says Dean, "Shoot him in the head?"

      "So, where is the devil?" asks Sam.

      "I don't know," I lie with a shrug, "You guys said you wanted to go to the Himalayas."

      "You said the devil came here!"

      "It's what I'd do," I say innocently. "Anyway, plane tickets are in Sam's backpack. I have to run."

      When I disappear, Dean is looking a little green.

      ***

      I find him in a warehouse, beside a cracked-open wooden crate. Empty green wine bottles litter the ground, and Castiel himself - back in his original vessel - is sprawled out on the ground, leaning against the box. He has a half empty wine bottle in one of his hands.

      I appear next to the crate, eyeing Castiel thoughtfully. I grab a full bottle and sit down on the concrete, popping the cork with a thought. Castiel's eyes roll up to look at me.

      "Bad day at the office?" I ask, clinking my bottle of wine against his.

      His face twists into a frown. "Being rescued by Lucifer didn't exactly set me up for a promotion."

      "Well, I'd tell you they'll get over it," I say, taking a sip of wine, "But this is Heaven we're talking about. That lot can hold a grudge into eternity."

      Castiel snorts. "You're not helping."

      "Should I?" I ask, genuinely curious. "You wouldn't accept any advice from me. I'm the Deceiver, after all."

      Castiel is quiet for a long time. I go steal chocolate bars from another section of the warehouse.

      A Dalliance with the Damned. Scare Factor: 3.

      WakingNomad provided the narration for the warehouse scene. Somehow. I think Microsoft Word was open in another window while I was experiencing the scene itself.

      Also, I've somehow rewritten Season 4 of Supernatural subconsciously. So yeah.

      P.S. I make up most of my dialogue. I don't remember the exact wording, so I improvise. I am a vile, evil attention-monger, I tell you.

      I feel like I'm writing bad fanfiction subconsciously. I find it interesting that in the past two months I've had several dreams that carry on from previous ones.

      Also, more Lucifer.

      Castiel gets captured. I offer to help with the rescue.

      "Let him go, you bitch!" I shout.

      "Oh, Dean," says Lilith. "You don't understand. You've already lost."


      I hate losing.

      I throw myself back through the dream, back through the sewers that lead to the Hellmouth, zooming back over flooded streets and abandoned rafts and into a warehouse that I fought my way through not long ago.(1)

      I arrive before Sam and Dean Winchester ever found themselves ambushed here, taking up precious time in our search. I can't afford that loss again.

      A man is kneeling on the floor at the center of the warehouse. His face and arms are bare, and I can see designs swirling everywhere on his exposed flesh in patterns of black and blue. The tattooed man paints symbols on the floor, dipping his fingers into a wooden bowl filled with something red and sticky.



      "Damian Masters." I say tonelessly. My voice reverberates through the building. Damian stands up, startled, and I step out of the shadows.

      "Who are you?" He rasps, panicked.

      "Have you ever heard the name 'Samael'?" I ask him.

      He shakes his head.

      "I'm an angel." I manage to say it with a straight face.

      Damian falls to the ground and bows his head. I try not to let my irritation show. "What can I do?"

      "We have need of Dean Winchester," I say importantly. "Allow him to leave. Kill the other one."

      "Of course," he breathes, "The boy with the demon blood."

      I walk across the room, deliberately scuffing the blood sigil where it won't be noticed. I roll my eyes. "So mote it be." I say in a mocking tone.

      ***

      Dean steps onto the oversized raft, stumbling a little as it bobs under his weight. He turns around and catches the knife Sam throws at him. He breathes out slowly once he catches his balance again. (2)

      "Watch it, Sam. I don't want to go diving for this stuff." He rubs his eyes and sighs. "Be careful."

      "You're doing the dangerous part," says Sam, rolling his eyes. "I'm just casting the spell here because it's on the right ley lines."

      "Other people thought so, too," warns Dean. "That blood on the floor still looks fresh."

      "Get on with it, Dean. Castiel's not getting out of Hell on his own."

      Dean unties the rope from the pier and casts off, sending his brother a sarcastic two-finger salute. Sam grins and salutes back. He only watches Dean drift off for a moment, carried by the current through the flooded city. He picks up a canvas bag and spreads its contents over a table, ready to start the ritual.

      He gets so caught up in his task that he almost ignores the little warning voice that goes off in his head. He dodges to the side as a fireball slams into the table, sending his ritual ingredients up in flames. Sparing no time for disappointment, he runs over to where the guns should be, only to find them... gone.

      He turns around to face the other man. The tattooes on his face and arms, Sam thinks, they probably let him manipulate energy. The man's face is twisted into a triumphant grin, and Sam looks down, realizing he's at the center of the blood sigil on the floor. The tattooed man raises a hand, covered in glowing swirls, and presses it to the concrete.

      ***

      His raft floats through the flooded city, guided by a spellbound current. The shadows of buildings jut out of the water, reaching toward the orange sky as if in their death throes. Barnacles cling to the rotting and rusting wood and steel. Some of the buildings have collapsed in on themselves, leaving twisted metal sitting low to the water. Dean steers carefully around them.



      "Dean Winchester, yeah?"

      Dean spins around with the knife raised. "Yeah? And who are you?"

      The boat tips a little, and I look back at him, unimpressed. "I'm here to help," I say with a smile. "You can call me Lucy. Things will get confusing, otherwise."

      "Really. Okay, Lucy," says Dean, "Why should I trust you?"

      "You probably shouldn't," I tell him honestly, "But I owe Castiel a favour, and I pay my debts."

      Dean eyes me suspiciously, but he lowers the knife.

      "Excellent." I say. "Now, we have a problem."

      "Of course we do."

      "Castiel's vessels have gone missing."

      "His vessel? The guy he's possessing?"

      "The daughter as well. You haven't met them yet?"(3) I receive an uncomprehending stare as my answer. "Whatever. He needs a vessel, and you're it." A pause. "Don't look at me like that, it's only temporary."

      "Why not you?" asks Dean, "That'd be a good way to pay back your 'debt', wouldn't it?"

      "How many humans do you know that can teleport onto a raft in the middle of nowhere?" I ask impatiently. "I'm an occupied vessel; it doesn't work that way."

      Dean is silent as I latch onto the decorative post of a balcony and bring the raft to a stop. "We're hee-ere," I sing-song quietly, stepping onto the concrete deck. Dean shoots me a look, hand hovering near the gun concealed under his jacket.

      We step through the archway, into a cobblestone hallway filled with rot and mold. Dean's nose scrunches in distaste, but I can't smell anything. A rusted metal ladder is built into the opposite wall, and I make a motion towards it. Be my guest.

      Dean eyes the ladder. "I thought we were going into the sewers."

      "We are." I confirm. Dean looks at me askance, and I roll my eyes. "We're walking towards a gateway to Hell! You can't expect reality to work properly."

      Dean makes a disbelieving noise, but moves to the ladder and starts climbing up it. I follow a few seconds behind, looking up to track Dean's progress.

      Wow. Those are some really nice jeans.

      Climbing up brings us a level down, and we trudge through muddy water and orange-lit brick until we find an opening in the wall. Dean and I stand on either side of it, catching our breath and shaking out our shoes.

      "Are you ready?" I ask. "Lilith's on the other side."

      "Ready as I'll ever be." Dean shoots me a grin. We step through the opening.

      It's bright. The gateway is orange-white, shedding the room with stark light and bleaching out the red brick. Lilith stands near the doorway, hands clasped loosely over her white dress. Her blonde hair flutters in a non-existant breeze.

      I squint against the light. "Claire Novak?" I say incredulously. "Oh, irony of ironies. Nice one, Lilith."



      The little girl smiles pleasantly. "I thought it was fitting, using an angelic vessel as my own." She holds a hand up to the light, studying her fingers. "It was actually quite simple to burn out the angelic protections."

      "You're borrowing from Azazel." I muse, "His bastardising the Winchester line."

      "Demon blood," snaps Dean. "Can we get on with it? If this is a seal, what did you need an angel for?"

      "An angel?"

      "Castiel." I supply helpfully.

      Lilith laughs, her voice clear and deceptively innocent. "Oh, of course," she says, "Heaven has him, and I have no more need of opening seals. Lucifer walks the earth."

      "What?"

      "Castiel's superiors were unhappy with his exercising free will," I state calmly. "They're currently re-educating him."(4)

      Dean rounds on me. "Whose side are you on?"

      "Huh. Good question. I'm still going to need at least one of the vessels." I say to Lilith.

      "Can we go back to the bit where Lucifer is free?"

      "Dean, your presence is extraneous at the moment," I say, tilting my head sideways as I look at Lilith's teenage meatsuit. "Shut up."

      Dean looks about ready to hit me, but I wave a hand and he collapses.

      "My lord?" says Lilith carefully.

      "Not today." I say, "Tell me, what is it you're after?"

      "The end of all things." She responds immediately. "The apocalypse, which you are destined to bring about." (5)

      I smile as I approach her. "Destiny," I say, placing a hand on her head, "Is bullshit."

      Lilith's demonic form - grey and wispy and spiralling out of control - is forced out of Claire Novak's body. The light grey smoke hurtles toward the Hellmouth, screaming. It stills a second, pulling with all its might against the vortex, before succumbing to the orange-white light, falling back into Hell. The gate closes, dousing the room in shadow.

      I will definitely regret doing that at some point.

      I push the thought from my mind. In the next moment, I'm pulling on an incorporeal thread, tearing Castiel away from the torments of Heaven and back into human form. Blinding white light fills the room once more, before focusing on the girl.

      Castiel opens her eyes.

      "Lucifer," she says magnanimously.

      I grin. "Hey, Cas. You should probably go rescue your other vessel. And Sam Winchester. Dean's fine," I say, seeing Castiel look over at the unconscious man.

      There's an awkward pause.

      "Why did you -"

      "You let me go." I say, "Now we're even." (6)

      I disappear without another word.

      Castiel stares at the spot for a moment, before going over to Dean and tapping him on the forehead.

      When Castiel appears back at the warehouse, supporting a groggy Dean Winchester, Sam is leaning against a table with his arms crossed, facing the tattooed man. The man is currently trussed up and tied to a chair, his head lolling at an awkward angle. Sam doesn't take his eyes off him.

      "Who the hell is this guy?" Dean demands, inconspicuously taking his weight off of Castiel's shoulders.

      "I have no idea," says Sam, "He attacked me, tried to activate a blood sigil." In response to Dean's worried look, Sam shrugs. "It didn't work," he says, "The outer circle was broken."

      "Well, that was lucky," says Dean, sounding suspicious. "Anyway, we've got bad news. Cas?" He looks around, only to realize that Castiel is already gone. "Damn it."

      1. This dream continued on from a previous one that I don't properly recall. I think I was Dean. Sam and I fought Masters, the tattooed man in the warehouse, but it slowed us down considerably. Sam still stayed behind to do the ritual, but it completely screwed things up for us. When I replayed the dream, I kept Masters from attacking Dean, and sabotaged the ritual at the same time. I think.

      2. A good portion of this dream was in the third person. My character wasn't spying so much as I was watching cutscenes.

      3. Supernatural 4x20 "The Rapture", which aired over a year ago. We meet Castiel's human host, Jimmy Novak, and his family. Claire, the daughter, is briefly possessed as well.

      4. Actually happened in the TV series. Same episode.

      5. This was Lilith's motivation in Mike Carey's Lucifer comic series.

      6. I can't believe I remembered that. According to this dream, Castiel let me beat him in our last fight. I resent the implication.

      In other complaints, why is teleporting so easy during non-lucids?

      Also, I haven't been online much for the past couple of weeks. Summertime! I'll do my best to get caught up with everyone's DJ entries.

      7/31/10

      1- Slave to my Own Bloodlust
      Poetry usually comes so naturally to me... And this is about Artemis. It should be easy. So why am I struggling? I am frantically trying to get a few more words down before class starts, when I am interrupted by the janitor. He wants me and several other students to accompany him on a brief errand. I readily follow, hoping that the trip takes longer than planned. Anything to get out of admitting that my homework isn't finished.

      Upon returning, I head slowly for the door--- when I realize that I left all my stuff in the janitor's van! When I hurry back to retrieve it, I am somewhat disconcerted to find that the creepy ghost kid who haunts the school has stolen it. Great. That means a trip down to the basement.

      The kid is not pleased to see me. I spend a considerable amount of time trying not to die before I finally manage to retrieve my bookbag and split. I missed English completely. "Oops."

      *time lapse*

      I am walking down the hallway when my former Master, a Gorgon-like lady named Tybanta Silbane, appears in the mirror. Apparently she's still a bit PO'd about me ripping her eyes out and then ignoring her whenever she tried to contact me. "Did you think you could escape me so easily, Hazel?" she hisses. "You underestimate me. However, I'm willing to give you one last chance. Repent, and become my slave once more, and your life shall be spared."

      My answer is a savage kick to the mirror, shattering her image and sending glass everywhere. Maybe now she'll get it through her thick, snakey head that I work for no one but myself.

      She may be annoying, but she's still a Goddess. Her wrath is rather frightful on a dark night. Fortunately, I have lucidity on my side to quell the fear.

      Now only semi-lucid, walking with the baseball team to Silbane's lair. They have practically reached cult-hood in their near worship of her, and she gives them plenty of drugs to keep them happy. My brother is afraid that he will be turned to stone by her gaze. "She's not really a Gorgon," I tell him, "but her eyes are her strength. Slashing them out is your best bet if she comes after you."

      Inside, she has her place set up like a fortune-teller's tent at a carnival. The words "Tybanta Silbane, the Magnificent," are written in elaborate letters across the table where she sits. Her only acknowledgement of my presence is a slight, sinister smirk. She plans to kill me.

      The baseball team is standing in line, and she gives them each a shot of some kind of drug. Soon I am at the front. I know that my shot will not be as enjoyable as the others'. Just as she is about to inject the venom into my veins, I duck out of the way and deftly grab two sewing needles from a nearby basket, jabbing them violently into the dark Goddess's eyes. As she screeches in rage, I then proceed to chop her to pieces.


      After the deed is done, I realize that I am sad to see her go. We had never really gotten along from the start, but deep down we had enjoyed each other's company.

      I shouldn't have worried, though. Goddesses never stay dead for long.

    11. Turmoil between an old friend.

      I can't go into detail for personal reasons, but the dream basically consisted of me and an old friend who I no longer have ties with fighting to the death in his own front yard with no one seeming to stop us. At some point throughout this long fight, I found myself to be somewhere else all of a sudden.. not in the exact same location, but not far away. After realizing this, I took off for where we were before and when I got there, I seen him standing over what appeared to be my lifeless body. Afterwards, I realized I was seeing myself from an out-of-body perspective, and maybe I had died. He then jumped in a car and drove away very quickly. I tried to get on my phone to call my mom, and when she answered I said "I think I'm having an out of body experience, I think I may be dead.", to which she replied "No, I can't come get you right now.. you'll have to wait a bit.". At this point, I took the advice from this site into account and said "Wait.. there's no way I could use a phone if I'm dead.. there's no way I could talk to anyone, especially my own mother.. and why would she say she couldn't come pick me up when I didn't ever imply that I needed a ride?" Then, it hit me.. "Am I dreaming?" As soon as I asked myself this question, I believe that I became lucid. I grew excited and decided there was no reason to be scared of my supposed 'death', because I wasn't dead.. I was only dreaming. Next thing I knew, I was awake in my own bed.

      It's not amazing by any means, but I'm almost positive that I nearly induced my first lucid dream. It's also great for me because I rarely remember my dreams, but after being on this site and reading tips I've been able to recount a lot of my dreams over the past few nights. If I'm not close to to incuding lucid dreams at will, I've definitely taken a big step from where I was at.
    12. Night 5: Snakes, school, and a feline dreamguide

      Last night's dreams are pretty fragmented, but I figure since I'm fairly behind in my journaling I should get a move on.

      To start, the first thing I remember is trying to get into a building of some sort but being hindered by a huge mob of snakes. It was me and one other person (maybe my girlfriend?) along with a huge golden retriever. We were trying to move the snakes with sticks, but eventually I ended up with a hatchet, so I just chopped them up. After a while I felt hopeless for some reason, like there was no way we'd ever make it through the snakes, so for whatever reason I just started sawing at the dog's leg with my hatchet. I soon realized that was ridiculous and cruel, so I stopped and hugged the dog while he ate the rest of the snakes.

      I really honestly don't remember any sort of chronology for the rest of it. I do remember having several dreams within dreams, and for some reason I feel like I was trying to infiltrate someone else's dream (or maybe the dreams of multiple people, I don't know). At one point I ended up at my high school (which didn't look anything like my high school) for some sort of beginning-of-the-year orientation, even though I just graduated high school in May. I kept trying to figure out why I was required to be there, and I kept looking around for anyone I might know that had graduated with me to confirm that graduated seniors were actually supposed to be there, but I didn't find anyone. After I went through a bunch of hand-stamping and other weird shit (I did note that when the lady stamped my palm, it looked different every time I looked at it--I'm getting so close to a lucid dream but I can never remember to actually think that I'm dreaming, even if I notice things are ridiculous!), I started talking to a woman who was evidently the new leader of my "team" at the high school (right now we have a dean for half of the student body, then another dean for the other half, so I guess she was replacing one of them). She talked forever about absolutely nothing, and at one point a young man walked up and started making fun of her, saying I was only here for one thing: to see the ladies. At that point he very quickly drew a cartoonish girl on a piece of paper, and I smiled at him and walked into the cafeteria.

      The tables were arranged in such a way that I think it was impossible to get to certain seats. It was set up like one of those impossible geometric shapes, like the endless staircase or the Möbius strip, so when I spotted my brother sitting at one of the tables and he waved at me (my brother's gonna be a junior in high school next year, so it made sense that he was at the orientation), I just jumped up on the tables and walked across them to get to him. I heard a female voice chastise me for it--when I looked to my left there was a girl yelling at me, but seeing as how she was still a student at the high school she was younger than me and I therefore didn't pay her any mind. Another dude started yelling at me for being an asshole to the girl, and I apologized, but I tried to explain to them that if I hadn't climbed over the tables I would had to go all the way around the cafeteria to get to that spot. They were still pissed and eventually I stopped talking to them. Also, for whatever reason, I had sunglasses on the whole time.

      The next part was the last part. It made absolutely no sense, but that's because it was like a string of continual false-awakenings. I remember some sort of flood happening, but I don't know what that has to do with anything. All I can remember is that through all my fragmented dreams last night, I can remember feeling the presence of a certain being--a cat with a wizard's hat on it. He changes color depending on what dream I'm remembering him in, but he was always there last night. Finally my last dream consisted of me actually conversing with him in an entirely abandoned clearing surrounded by forest. We were on a brick-paved circular clearing and I was sitting in front of him. We were talking about whether or not I had proven myself capable of infiltrating other people's dreams for him, and I was really really desperate for him to consider me worthy. All I asked was, "Do you believe in me?" And he said yes. It was at that point though that I woke up at an earlier point in the dream where the flood was happening again. As I encountered people during that flood (my girlfriend included, I think--because at some point we had a conversation with her mother about our sex life, and I'm pretty sure her mother doesn't know that we HAVE sex life...yeah.), I laughed to myself, because none of them had any idea what was going on, but for me it unfolded exactly the way it had in my dream earlier, so I knew exactly what was going to happen. Then I had another false awakening and found myself with the cat again, and realized he'd tricked me. Still, I couldn't be angry because I realized he was just testing me to see if I was good enough to infiltrate dreams, and I'd just failed his test. I asked him if he stilled believed in me, and he said, "Of course I still believe in you."

      I feel like that process might have repeated itself a few times...but finally at the end I was watching a movie with my girlfriend and two other people, a guy and a girl who were siblings that I didn't recognize, and as we watched the movie I realized that all the movie was was a replay of the flood from earlier. Before I realized that the siblings' mother would come in and out bringing us popcorn or whatever, but the instant I realized that I'd lived through the flood that we were watching, their mother came out in the form of a cat. And that's when I was sure of it--this cat is my dreamguide. The cat talked to me and the girl (not my girlfriend), but I don't remember what he said. Eventually I turned to face the girl and her eyes had become like cat eyes...and that's when I woke up.

      It was pretty fragmented last night, but I got pretty close to lucidity I think.

      Notes:
      In this long dream, I became lucid once but decided to go with the plot of the dream.

      I was in the atrium of my school, a large, spacious central room with a triangular roof made of glass panels. You could hold a party in the room, it was so big. The doors were all lighter teal, and the tiles on the floor were large white and tan colors. On opposite sides of the room there were three doors, each to separate classrooms. The other two sides hosted the large main door and the back door, which both had large glass panels so you could see outside. I was outside the door of a classroom, leaning almost right up against the wall, waiting for the class to end. There were students walking past me but none of them acknowledged that I was there.

      There was a random borderless mirror beside me, and I looked into it. Most of my face was unseeable because there was a patch of fog on the mirror. When I moved my face to try and see it better, the fog disappeared and reappeared, again in front of my face. It annoyed me, so I stopped looking and just waited for the classroom doors to open.

      After a minute, the doors opened and I saw students from the grade lower than mine come out. There was a girl slightly shorter than me and with blonde hair down to her shoulders, and she looked at me as she walked past with the other students. "Hey, can I talk to you for a moment?" I asked her. She concurred and stepped away from the crowd, which was quickly ebbing away into the halls. "What is it?" I decided to play mysterious and not give her all the details. "Something's happened, and I'm not sure I can stay friends with you. I'm hoping you'll understand." Her only reaction was a dumbfounded expression and "what?"

      "I know that I'm not giving you a lot of details... I really think it'd be best if we weren't to talk anymore..." I decided to leave it at that, so I turned away and began to travel towards the front doors of the atrium. There was a set of stairs to get up to the second floor, and I was going to take them. "Hold it," I heard the girl say very sharply. "You're f***ing crazy. What's going on?" She began to press and press as I turned around to face her. She looked extremely mad, and her eyes were wider than they used to be. "Please, just go away," I told her firmly. "I'm sorry."

      She then lunged forward and tried to smack me across the face, but I fell backwards, getting up as quickly as I could but rather messily. She was breathing heavily now, looking almost like she wanted to murder me or something. "Come on," I told her again, almost jokingly, "this isn't worth it." I spun around and began sprinting towards the door, not looking back. Although from inside the building it looked light outside, when I actually got out it was dark. There was white-colored illumination from street lights though, which shone on a bumpy sheet of ice on the road. There was patches of snow here and there, covering up most of the grass outside. I saw a car which wasn't mine, but I figured I could use it to get away from the frightening student. It was a pale maroon-colored 60's vehicle that looked fairly worn down, but I got inside anyways. I pushed a large white button to the right of the steering wheel, between that and the radio consol. The car turned on with a "beep".

      I began to drive it, pressing down on the gas pedal to turn around (it was facing the wrong way), and began turning the steering wheel. However, the ice on the road made it very difficult to steer properly. The car slide five or ten feet to the side, and then again when I tried to back up. I couldn't drive in this thing, so I had to walk. When I got outside the car, the sky was brighter, almost as if it were seven in the morning. There was much more light now, so I got to the sidewalk and began walking down the street. Instead of apartment complexes and gas stations like in real life, there were single story houses along either side. I began to run again, and ran until I got to a juncture consisting of four small, white, modern buildings, attached together in a pinwheel fashion. The corners were touching but there was no way to get from inside one to the other without first going outside. I took refuge in one of them. There was black barbed fence surrounding them, except for a few medium-sized openings, and a few large green dumpsters. There were many cardboard boxes as well.

      Inside the building I chose to enter, there was solid tan flooring, and the walls were brick that was painted white. The whole building consisted of one room, which was littered with brand-new couches and television sets. I sat down in one of the chairs, which was comfortable. Only a minute or so passed before the student appeared in the door, which I thought was impossible. I told her to "stop" and she did, then I performed the finger-through-palm reality check. I really had to push my for my finger to go through, but it did, and then I knew I was dreaming. It only took a second to realize that I've never had a dream quite like this one before, so I decided to egg the student on instead of telling her to leave.

      "Keep doing what you're doing," I told her commandingly. "You're boss," she said. That made no sense until I woke up, but anyhow, she then began to advance on me. I felt my lucidity beginning to wane, so I ran at her and tried to punch her. She dodged it and my fist slammed into the bricks, creating a hole. I could see red but there was no blood on my hand, so it must have been the red bricks underneath the paint.
      I then lost my lucidity almost all at once, but I continued to hit her. "I said to leave me alone!" I said, rather aggressively, and managed to land a blow to her collarbone. She recoiled and touched where I punched her as if in pain. "A**hole", she called me, and slowly backed away through the door, slamming it shut. I finally managed to get rid of her.

      Moments later, she came back into the building with a large steak knife. I had a burst of panic, so I turned around and bolted towards a door that suddenly just appeared out of nowhere. I opened it and ended up in an alley consisting of a black dumpster, more black barbed wire, and brick buildings fairly close together. It was now daytime-brightness outside, so I could see everything. I began to climb up along the barbed wire, which didn't injure me at all. I must have been fifteen feet off the ground when the girl appeared outside, swinging the knife. I held my hand out for her to stop, but as I did, she took off my index finger. I shouted "ouch", although there was no pain. I looked at the stub of my finger and although it was flat and red, there was no blood coming out. The girl had vanished.

      The next thing I knew, I was back on the ground, holding what was left of my finger. I sat down cross-legged and leaned back against the black wire, looking up at the sky because I wasn't sure what to do next. Then someone appeared; she was a woman in her thirties with long brown hair, wearing a casual dress. "Hey, what's wrong?" she asked me. I showed her my finger. "Someone attacked me."

      She pulled out what looked like a finger puppet, but it was very plain; the only thing on it was the color grey. She took my finger and put it on, and it filled up exactly what part of my finger had been cut off. She took a small sewing needle and some yellow thread, sewing it on painlessly. When she was finished and I had a look at it, I could move my finger again. When I looked up, she was gone.

      End of The World (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      It was a hot day, the sun seemed larger and bright red. People were wearing their tiniest sets of clothes. I was in 5 stars hotel with my friend Don and with Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) who I had just met at the hotel. We agreed to go to the pool, but first Tom had to get his towel in his room. We entered his room and while he searched for his towel, me and Don were talking about sports, and I asked him if we was going to join the wrestling team again next year (we met in the wrestling team IRL). After Tom found his towel, we started walking towards the pool. We saw, through a window, a huge explotion far away. Someone then turned on a radio and we hear the terrible screams coming from it "A huge chaotic wave of heat is spreading all over the world, destroying everything on its way". I turn pale, "This can't be happening" is the first thing I think. "It must be a joke, like War of the Worlds", but panic invaded me, everyone was panicking, screaming, unsure of what to do, what to say. I look through the window and I see a chain of explosions moving closer every second. It was just matters of seconds before it reached us. Then I felt an intense heat, and everything went white. I felt pain, heat, and cold, but the worst thing were the screams, which were still in my head, the most horrible screams I had ever heard in my life. Three things came to my mind:
      1) So, this is how I die after all.
      2) Stupid scientists, they really were off when they calculated the sun wouldn't turn into a red giant in about 5 billion years...
      3) How am I still thinking? Is there life after or death.. or am I about to wake up.

      This one has been the scariest dream I've ever had, not because of death itself, I've had lucid nightmares in which I kill myself, but it was just so real it was hard to accept the World would end... so soon?, that I would never see my girl friend, or my family again. It was a very strange experience once I was 'dead', in the white void after the heat wave reached me. The fact that I was alive, but could still think seemed really odd, yet interesting. Right after I considered the possibility of this being a dream, I woke up, my heart beating as if I had just ran a marathon.

      when the dream started i was playing around in a big monastery with my friend who i really didn't recognize, he hade a shaved haircut and he must have been around 30 years old. we were running around the different levels of the monastery witch was quite run down so many of the stairs and such were missing, witch only made great obstacles for playing around on. after a while my friend fell down to the first floor and i jumped after him. it didn't hurt us in any way so i realized it was some kind of a dream. as soon as i realized this the monastery started to collapse, big chunks of rock and stair and monks where falling down all over the place and i ran out as fast as i could. i ran out through the entrance but as soon as i passed the there was a metal gate that closed behind me and my friend was trapped the whole monastery was about to collapse upon him. And then i realized i could teleport him out of the monastery so i decided to try and teleport him out, it was hard and i didn't think it was going to work but it did. My friend didn't understand what had happened bud he was very greateful anmd he thanked me. we where out on a field so proceeded to fly around at first it was awesome but then it went waaaay to fast and i almost crashed into the mast of a pirate ship witch was stranded in the middle of the field like a beached whale. I flew back to my friend and told him about the situation and that i was dreaming lucidly. He understood and the first thing he tried to do was to start flying, he flew away and seemed to have speed problems aswell. I thought about it alittle and then i suddemly saw thre colours flash in my mind. The task of the month ! so i tried summoning something green and it was a book, i started reading it but it was going to slowly so i super-read it it was like sucking the information out from the book. then i tried something red and i was hungry at the same time so it was a big bowl of pasta and tomato sauce, witch i shared with my friend who had recently landed. when i tried to summon something blue it just wouldnt happen and i got frustrated so i started flying again. it was still way to fast so i enabled a menu of some kind and i pulled a flight speed slider to 50% instead of 150%. It sure made a difference, now i was flying really slowly and it had some kind of an anti-gravity feel to it, witch really was fine and all but it was still hard to controll but not as dangerous as flying waaay to fast. i landed on the pirate ships lookout tower and looked around i saw my friend but nothing else. so i jumped down on the deck and my friend joined me, i wanted to play alittle with my powers so i tried morphing my arm into a armcannon like samus aran has. I failed but not completely, what i now had was an old fashioned Iron and black powder armcannon and it was good enough. I fired a ball at the mast and it made a clean round hole straight through the mast. i fired again and it broke off one side of the hole. the mast didn't fall over and i was getting irritated. my friend morphed his arm into a musket and fired it onto the little piece of mast that was still remaining. It fell and crushed against the ground. I tried morphing my arm into a musket aswell but i only got a tattoo of a musket on my hand when i tried. but it didn't matter because i could still shoot with it. we walked below deck and found a treasure chest and inside were a pair of blue jeans witch i put on as fast as i could because i was naked, we then walked out of the ship through a hole my friend blasted with his arm-musket. there was one more thing i had to do before i left and that was ride a unicorn i thought, so i tried summoning one but i only managed to summon a narwhal witch i mounted and started to ride. i later morphed the narwhal into a unicorn after many failed attempts i finally succeded and then i woke up into another dream where i was in a big livingroom with bunches of weapons on the walls (swords and hammers, flails and such) my little brother and my mom were there but i was frodo from the lord of the rings saga. suddenly a horde of orcs and other tolkien creatures started coming into the room and we started battling against them. my mother grabbed a big plank with gigantic nails sticking out of it and started whacking away i was irritated that she was such a horrible fighter but it didn't bother me that much. my brother grabbed two swords and was doing quite well since he plays alot of sports and is athletic but i couldn't find any waeapon that i preferred. i grabbed a stick and a little knife and started fighting. after a while sauron erupted from the ground like a volcano and started walkign toward me. he stopped and held out his hand, we proceeded to have a tug of war with the ring in the center (the one ring) instead of a rope. i won the tug of war and went over to the fireplace and put it in a spoon and it melted. then i woke up for real this morning with my mother shouting at me to wake up.. i think there was more to the dream but i can't remember it ...
