    1. Dream 24th March 2014

      by , 03-24-2014 at 01:31 PM
I was going to watch AFC Rushden & Diamonds play, which was at the old clubs ground Nene Park.

My cousin said we couldn't go to the match as Mark & Ben were watching the football on the television.

Therefore I was on my own, I knocked at a door, and my cousin Caroline said it was the wrong door, so I went through the correct door to the ground. I gave the lady at the turnstile £10 to get into the ground, I had to wait for my change, which was £4, there was a queue of people behind me waiting to get in also.

Once I was in the ground, a number of us had to walk on the football pitch, while the game had already begun, the ball kept hitting me which I denied! Paul Underwood one of our former players, was on the ball, shouting instructions in a Geordie accent (he's not a Geordie)...

When we all eventually got off the pitch, we got to the main football stand (The Peter Debanke Terrace).. which was completely gone, all that remained was a sign-post with "The Peter DeBanke Terrace" on it

      Dream 1 Title: Roxanne
Dream 1: I am standing in a kitchen I don’t recognize. My wife is there. We are preparing a large dinner for a family gathering. We are discussing how many grams of carbohydrates are in the sweet potatoes we are preparing. She tells me that I have to ask Roxanne to leave. (Roxanne is a girl I briefly dated in college.) I walk out of the kitchen and into a large dining room. There is a long table with a white table cloth, and many place settings. The chairs are ornately carved. Roxanne is standing at the far end of the table. I walk to her. She looks just like she did back in college. As I approach she is smiling at me. I feel anxious because I know I have to ask her to leave. I smile back. I grab hold of the backs of one of the chairs. I am worried she will be angry with me. I then tell her that she can’t stay because this party is only for relatives. She smiles and nods. I wake up.
Dream 2 Title: Moving out of my dorm
Dream 2: I am in what I know is my dorm room. It is a relatively small room. In one corner is a folding table and chair. On the table is my computer (similar to the one I had in the early 90’s). Against one of the walls is a single bed with a maroon comforter. Sitting on the bed is a girl, about 7 years old. She has black hair. I know I am looking after this girl (In RL I don’t know this girl). I am moving out of the dorm today. I wrap some cloths in the comforter and leave. **Jump** I am sitting on my motorcycle (I’ve never owned a motorcycle in RL). I have attached my comforter, filled with cloths, to the back of my bike with bungee cords. The little girl is sitting on the comforter. It is raining outside as we drive out of the driveway and onto the street. We drive down a steep hill in front of Holy Cross College. When we reach the bottom of the hill I turn left, and then turn left again at a tall cement building. We start to head up another steep hill, but the comforter falls off the back of the bike. I stop. I tell the girl to leave the bundle where it is (sitting on the wet street) and we will come back for it later. I push the bike up the street and the girl walks with me. We turn right into a parking lot. I find a bike rack and suddenly my motor cycle is a child’s bike, made entirely from plastic. I put it in the bike rack and was not concerned that I didn’t have a lock because I didn’t think anyone would be interested in stealing a plastic bike. I know this is an apartment building and I am going to be renting a place here. I start walking toward the building. A man approaches me. He is wearing a white and blue checkered shirt. He stops in front of me. I don’t like him. He makes me feel uneasy. He looks to the little girl and then back to me with a strange smile. Then he says “You must be looking for the child loving center.” In my mind I know this is a place where adults take children to molest them. I am furious with this man. I realize that he is a child molester. I grab him by the front of his shirt and push him up against a nearby cement wall. I look him in the eyes and say, “I’m calling the police!” He continues to smile. Suddenly I know that he has gotten away with this in the past and the police won’t help. Just then I know what exactly to do. I have a flash in my head of a man, a tall, very large man with a shaved head and a tribal neck tattoo. I know this man is a convicted murderer who hates child molesters. I look back to the man in the checkered shirt and say, “I’m going to call Manny McMurderer.” The man’s smile fades, and his eyes grow wide. I know he is finally scared. The dream fades and I wake up.
Dream 3 Title: Just a feeling
Dream 3: (can only remember emotion) I remember being in a situation where I was very happy.
      Awake: 5:30 am
      Vividness: (scale of 1-15, 10 is waking life vividness) D1 = 6; D2 = 8; D3 = ?
      Awareness: (1-10; or lucid) D1 = 4; D2 = 5; D3 = ?
      Length: (how long it felt like! Because that matters) D1 = 2 min; D2 = 10 min; D3 = ?
      Emotions: Guilt, Anger, Happiness
Dream Signs: Person from my past, being in places I don’t know in RL, People I don’t know in real life, a people I don’t know in RL who I know in my dream, Being approached by a child molester, riding a motorcycle (in the rain), No text where there should have been text (street signs, dorm room, kitchen)
Notes: For Dream 3: My alarm didn’t go off this morning, so I awoke to my wife’s alarm. That meant I was late for work. I bolted out of bed which completely erased the last dream of the night.
Text Search Experiment: I am trying to ingrain a habit of searching for text everywhere I go. I search with my eyes for text that I can see. I make a game of it, by trying to read every bit of text (numbers & words) I can see from my current position. I do this because I realize that text rarely appears in my dreams. (When I see text, I will read it, look away, and then reread it as a RC.) So, the lack of text of any kind is a dream sign that occurs in 98+% of my dreams. My assumption is, if I search for text out of habit in my dream then either: 1. My dream will create some text, and when I read it, look away & will it to change, and look back, I will know I am dreaming, or 2. I will be unable to locate any text which will trigger me to do a different RC. So far I have been doing this “Text Search Technique” for about a week. I recalled 2 solid dreams last night and noticed no text in either of them. Both dreams took place in areas where text should have been present. I did not specifically look for text out of habit.
    3. Stairs, Landlords 03/23/2014

      by , 03-24-2014 at 07:08 AM
I parked my park in the parking lot. Walked up a flight of stair. See that I'm at a part of a hotel. Went up a flight of narrow wooden stair. I went up one more flight of stair, and it's a white stone set this time.

I was in a house in Macau. We looked out the window to see my old landlords from SM. Someone told me to hide but I really needed to use the bathroom. I thought I'll have enough time to use the toilet since they're like 24 stories down. I got in and I heard their voices. Someone told me to come back out and hide. I opened the door with my pants down to my knees. They sounded too close so I shut the door. I really hoped that they didn't see the door closing. I heard them walking by asking for me. There's a vent at the bottom of the door. I held a piece of toilet paper to the vent even though I know they can't see through it anyway.

I dreamed of something Starbucks related.

    4. Research driving / Unfinished ceiling / Vacation craziness / Fragments

      by , 03-23-2014 at 09:46 PM
      Research driving
I'm walking across a grassy field towards a building (either work or college, I'm not sure). I see an odd-looking car with two guys in the back seat. Somehow, I can see that one of them is Mike R whom I've worked with a number of times but never met. I walk up to the car and introduce myself. Somehow I end up inside talking with them. Eventually a driver comes and starts to take us somewhere. I'm somewhat anxious since I'm not supposed to be there and this is some sort of research expedition. I debate about whether to ask the driver to stop, and the further we go the more anxious I get since asking him to stop after all this time would be silly. Eventually I decide just to stay and see what happens.

Now we're driving by a huge monstrosity of a building. The front is incredibly wide and tall and seems to be one huge screen with hundreds of different video windows all playing at once. This is the new USPS building where they're trying to be modern and relevant. It's one of the ugliest things I've ever seen. I say that they're the "Facebook of ???." Now we're driving through another area. Somehow we transition to something my mind flags as "Jurassic Park," except it's a mad doctor who enjoys making body-part-shaped food that may or may not be actual body parts. I'm disgusted by it.

Now I'm driving through town on my own. I'm having some sort of difficulty - the roads are slick, and I keep having to go up and down steps in the car. I turn to go down some steps, and even though I'm going very slowly (walking pace), I manage to knock over a girl. I jump out of the car and help her to her feet, asking if she's OK. She says she's fine and continues on her way.

      Unfinished ceiling
I'm at "our house" working on the hole in the kids' bedroom, trying to fish out the stuff my daughter dropped into the wall. I manage to get a vantage point that reveals that the stuff may have dropped into the room below. Now I'm in the dining room, looking up. I'm amazed to see that the ceiling is incomplete, that I can see the floor joists of the room above, and I find that I can look up in the gap between the walls separating rooms, including the wall with the hole. Looking around I find the missing tights as well as a whole table cloth. I wonder how she was able to stuff that down the small hole. I continue looking at the ceiling, wondering why it's like this. The ceiling is already low, particularly with a fan, and I don't think there's any way to finish the ceiling and have it be high enough to easily walk under it.

      Vacation craziness
We're arriving at a vacation house along with at least one other family. As we're unloading the car, my wife notices that my right wrist has a silver ring going all the way around it flush with my skin. She asks about it, and I offhandedly tell her that the doctor decided my arm needed to be replaced, so I have an artificial arm and hand now. She's appalled, wanting to know the details of why such a drastic thing was needed. I'm really not sure; I just accepted the doctor's word. She asks details about how to care for it, and I confess it's something I haven't really thought about. She finds a paper labelled something like "READ THIS FIRST: How to care for your new arm" and starts looking over it. We realize it needs to be charged periodically, and I have no idea where the charger is. I hope it's a standard plug, and I assume I can just go by Radio Shack and get a universal adapter that will serve until we can find the original adapter.

Now we're all at the beach. There's some kind of kids' area nearby, so I go to check it out. Now I'm swimming in the kids' area. It seems to be a more sheltered cove, though the waves are still occasionally big. In fact, there are a few that pass over my head (my bouyancy is wrong, since I should be floating with them, not passing under them). I'm surprised that my eyes aren't stinging and assume that I'm closing my eyes just right to seal out the salt water. I'm also surprised that I have to deal with a few waves coming in the wrong direction (i.e. from the direction of the beach); I assume the big ones are hitting the shore and bouncing back, traveling back out to sea as smaller waves. I realize that, once again, I forgot to buy goggles and intend to make a note to do so.

Now I'm talking with somebody in charge of the kids' cove. He asks if I'd like a bucket ride. When he sees my quizzical look, he points to where people in large floating buckets are lining up behind some kind of water vehicle, forming a long "train" to get pulled around. The buckets look too small for a full sized adult, so I decline. He starts talking about the challenges of running such a thing safely, especially when it's raining. I see a list of things they're working on, including the problem of rain adding to the weight in the buckets. It seems they track the weight so they know if a kid falls out or a bucket becomes detached, and when the buckets fill with water it messes up the "fallen kid" detector.

Now we're walking along near the beach. I look up and see a drone flying past. I point it out, and my wife is amazed that I hadn't noticed more of them flying around. Now we're walking along a high pathway overlooking the city; it's quite a sight. Behind us, we see a large floating robot coming towards us, and we all take off at a run knowing this can't be good. It catches up to us and we recognize it from earlier. It ends up disobeying its orders, grabbing us, and helping us escape. Eventually it puts us down, then flies off and jams itself somewhere to block anything else that's chasing us. I'd liked it earlier, and I like it even more now, so I'm sad to see it sacrifice itself for us.

      Fragments
I'm on top of the car as we're driving somewhere. It's a Sunday evening, but it's also the start to some festival. Suddenly all the normal lights go off and strands of Christmas lights come on. I get as low down to the car as possible; I don't want one of the strands to catch me and pull me off the roof.

I'm walking around the basement spraying something everywhere. Tiny puddles are all over the place, and I wonder how they got there. I'm thankful that I won't have to track mud into the house from the basement much longer, and a middle-aged man agrees, saying he's sure the police chief will also be very relieved, since he often has to visit the person whose office is down here.

    5. Very brief lucid

      by , 03-23-2014 at 08:36 PM
I'm in my IRL home, and I'm very, very tired. I've got a few things I should take care of before going to sleep, but I'm going to have to do them tomorrow, I'm too tired to focus. It's dark, the lights are off and the sun hasn't risen yet - I realize that's strange, why am I tired at this hour? I hit the light switch as I pass it, but the lights remain off. My assumption is that they need new bulbs. At the top of the stairs, for a moment I think I see something standing in front of me, a person, or more like the shadow of a person, inches in front of my face. It's just for a moment, my eyes playing tricks on me in the dark. As I walk down the hall, I think how this darkness reminds me of those dreams where the lights won't turn on. I don't think about that too deeply at first, but a few moments later I realize that this is, in fact, one of those dreams. But I'm already waking up. (I was disoriented afterward, couldn't remember actually getting to bed, for a few moments.)
    6. Cats

      by , 03-23-2014 at 08:23 PM
This is a short info summary from the 15th

      Pre bed: l-arginine (500)

      Natural wake: l-tyrosine (500)

Didn't do wbtb, no notes on pre bed work. Focus was on sleeping, no review in mind or notes taken until final wake.

The dreams were extremely vivid, wonder about the effect of this combo. Vividness may have also been boosted by lack of sleep in the days before.

NLD: In some very green neighborhood that transitions into a forest, very vivid experience. I notice there are cats everywhere, more and more of them (DS). Further there's a place where this DC is giving a presentation about getting rid of the cats and making some sort of lucid camp on the same place, teaching people how to ld.

Short ld: In the early part of this dream we are in a cool mansion where there is some event and I'm collecting various food items. We (me and some random and changing DC companion) then leave the mansion and I shortly get a game like view of the map where the mansion is. We decide that something is chasing is and go back in the mansion to find some item to helps us with that. The mansion is now deserted, this thing is supposedly after us, we end up jumping on roofs and climbing down couple of trees. I know it is a dream when climbing down, somewhat low awareness here.

On the street, I look at the DC and tell him to repeat this is a lucid dream and remind me of it later on as I would actually like to continue with this scenario. It's a bright sunny day and I catch part of a greek temple/baroque building behind the near buildings and contemplate whether to explore it. Decide to run through my goals first but the dream ends.

    7. Dirt Road Trip - March 23 2 a.m. - 10 a.m.

      by , 03-23-2014 at 07:44 PM
I had just gotten out of work and decided to hop on my computer. After a few hours of worthless YouTube browsing I decided to hit the hay at 2 a.m. I laid flat on my back with my arms to my side and began reverse blinking whilst counting my breaths down from 1000. After 3-5 minutes of reverse blinking I'd let the sleep paralysis and breathing do the rest.

While doing this, I saw an image of what looked like a broom handle sticking outward from atop something that resembled a refrigerator. I walked forward ignoring it and it struck the side of my temple. In waking life I felt my head jerk to the side. This panicked me a bit but I maintained peace. I continued to breath and try to maintain awareness in my thoughts. I then felt my right arm jerk to the right, and my upper torso to the left. Sleep paralysis was mild at this time. Later, my dream started to take picture. It was non-lucid but very vivid.

I was driving down a dirt and gravel road my Grandfather lives off of in my father's GMC Yukon. Just a small dirt road with two lines || indicating where the previous traffic had been. All over the road was vibrant green moss and small weeds and plants. To my left and right were 2 to 3 foot plants and weeds. I thought that it was strange because it's still somewhat winter. Then I remembered that in the waking life we had just had a rainstorm this past Friday. I thought, "Oh, that must be the reason for the plants." I continued down the road and began to see somewhat broken down houses as if they were hit by a small tornado. I thought that the storm must have been worse than I had thought. I kept driving and kept seeing more houses. I finally arrived to one that I had never seen before. It was a buddy of mines from my ceramics class in Highschool. It was demolished from what I can remember. I got out of the truck and saw him standing there. I went over to him and said, "Hey man I'm really sorry about your house." He turned around with tears in his eyes and said, "When your fedora cries, you cry." I then woke up laughing. I don't know what he meant by that sentence, but the dream was still very vivid and exciting.

    8. Blood On My Hands - March 23rd - 12:00 AM to 8:30 AM

      by , 03-23-2014 at 05:24 PM
I was in my 2nd period class.
      Math, ugh.

I was sitting down, and I turned over to notice this girl started yelling at my and calling me names! I was sick of all this, this was my threshold, in dreams and IWL.

I yelled and pinned her on a desk, and I screamed in her face something I don't remember.

I turned around and strangled this kid that annoyed me alot but not the most.

      He was dead.

So I had this random broken broom in my hand, and I heard people yelling

then this bulky kid chased me, so I picked up a chair and hit him in the face and he backed off. I heard music and I pounded my feet to the rythm, mixed emotions flowing inside of me about what I did.

I walked around the school, running and smiling in a devilish way.

Then we were at gym, about to dissect a human.

      Then I woke up.
    9. Morning - Non-lucid - Devil-fighting

by , 03-23-2014 at 03:22 PM (Dream Dream Dream Dream Dream Dream)
Part twooooo of the same dream, after I fell asleep again~

Dream - Devil Destruction ?? wow that sounds really lame
So I was back in the same convention center as before, only this time I was an established hero in my own right, and the Justice League and bear/Godzilla were gone. In their place was a new opponent: the devil. Or basically some dude in a red suit with horns and a goat's tail and all that jazz, wandering around the center with these two inflatable devil minions of his. People were kinda wary of the guy, but I don't think it was the general consensus that I needed to take him on. Too bad though 'cause that's what I did! I wasn't really a hero of the people or anything, more like some suspicious powerful person wandering around looking for threats to dispense with. A sort of semi-paranoid protector. (Also my IRL family wasn't part of the dream anymore.)

So first I encountered him 'n' his two minions and I was like, are those... actually minions? They look like inflatable demon decorations (they were about as tall as he was and super wide), but then they started sort of toddling around on their own, one just sort of pacing a route in the middle of the floor, the other following close by him. People were giving the pacing one a lot of space, but didn't seem to mind when the devil and his other minion wandered off in their midst.

I decided to take down the pacing minion, which wasn't particularly hard and was actually pretty stinking rad. The low-level lucidity was gone, but my expectations were still sort of managing the dream, so when I noticed that the minion could only toddle around on his little legs, MY movement leveled up. Then I had some kinda torch or a brand or somethin', and the fight consisted of me dancing around the dude, dodging his pitiful rushes, jabbing at him with the torch/brand, and moving in this exceedingly quick and graceful way that was just, loads of fun. I quite enjoyed that. Also Imma call that a dream power.

In the end, the minion was just a little deflated pile on the ground. He hadn't even touched me. And the people around me seemed borderline disapproving, but I didn't caaaaare~

After that, it's a bit harder to remember the different pieces of what happened. I remember an interlude where I was sitting in a classroom doing schoolwork, when the clock caught on fire. This was our cue to get out before the place burned down, but I chilled there still working, and so did a few other cool kids, though some left over time. At one point a girl and boy walked by, and the girl noticed I'd dropped a bunch of hair bands on the floor, and decided to claim them for herself. Think I gave her an evil look. Eventually the clock just stopped being on fire, which was sort of anti-climactic.

Another part seemed to be some TV reporter woman trying to explain, on camera, why she couldn't do a certain thing... which had to do with efforts to stop bad guys. They wanted her to be part of the offensive somehow, maybe owing to some power she hadn't known she'd had, but she was pretty persistent in saying it wouldn't work out.

Lastlyyyy the dream took a rather more dark turn and seemed to be falling apart, with details getting mixed up with various thoughts I was having. I do remember that I entirely ceased to be quick and/or graceful, and my method of taking out the devil culminated with me straddling his chest on the ground and wildly stabbing his eyes out with some sort of dual-hooked claw. Also I was watching myself from third person—I seemed furious and out of control, and the devil guy wasn't putting up much of a fight at all. Then I stopped, seeming struck by the carnage, and my thoughts turned to what could've inspired this, which resulted in a shot of some eyeless woman in a white dress. And then I think the same thing happened twice, or something. Which is always just confusing as anything. Repetition is a no-no, dreams.

Think I woke up after that.

    10. Dreaming I have a sister

      by , 03-23-2014 at 02:49 PM
So I am an only child, i'm 17 and recently i've been thinking about how if my parents ever passed away suddenly I would have no-one, My dad has no siblings either, my mum has a brother but him his wife and 2 kids live in australia so I rarely see them.

Anyway a few nights ago I dreamt that I was sat on the sofa in my lounge (except the sofa was bigger) and I had a sister who was sat to the right of me, dad the other side of her and mum next to me and we were all cuddled together reading a story. I don't know who she was now.

Last night I dreamt I was about 6 or 7 and again I had a sister who was about the same age, and our parents had adopted this other girl called Kazeema, we all had separate bedrooms but we were planning on 2 people sharing one or something so we were running round finding a tape measure and measuring the rooms to see who's was the biggest so that the 2 people sharing could have that one.

      Total sleep: 7 hours?
Daytime Techniques: RCs (Text), visualization, Mantra
      Lucid Techniques: Mantra, visualization
      Recall Techniques: Mantra
Fell Asleep: Sometime after 1 am
Dream 1 Title: Ghost pinches my butt
Dream 1: (Brief – I believe this was actually Hypnagogia) I am sitting on my couch in my living room. Everything looks exactly the same as reality. I am watching some random nature show. Out of habit I look down at the digital clock on the face of the cable box. There are no numbers. I know something isn’t right. I stand up and suddenly the power goes out (all the lights and the TV). I am standing in complete darkness when I feel a very strong hand pinch my left buttocks! At the same time I hear a deafening loud woman’s scream! I startle awake. (See notes below)
      Dream 2 Title: Random Fragments
Dream 2: (See notes below) (1) I am on an island. I am standing on a rocky hill top, with long grass growing from between the rocks. It is a cloudy and slightly foggy day. I can see the ocean from where I am standing. (2) I am asking someone “Is she corporate?” I feel nervous because I feel like she has been sent from corporate to spy on us.
      Vividness: (scale of 1-15, 10 is waking life vividness) D1 = 8; D2 = 3;
      Awareness: (1-10; or lucid) D1 = 9; D2 = 3;
Length: (how long it felt like! Because that matters) D1 = 1 min; D2 = 30 sec
      Emotions: Confusion, Fear, Peaceful, Annoyance
Dream Signs: Couldn’t see text, sudden power failure, being somewhere I don’t recognize.
Notes: I took only B-5 and Chorine last night. My wife and I went out with friends to see a live band last night (when we left I had a strong ringing in my ears which could explain the woman’s scream in dream 1). But my wife was coming down with an illness and we left at 10:30 pm. When we got home she was feeling horrible and couldn’t sleep. I had to drive to the 24 hour pharmacy twice. This kept me awake until after 1 am (I stopped looking at the clock at that time). On a good note: I am working very hard to develop a strong habit of searching for text (with my eyes) everywhere I go. When I see it I; look, look away and will it to change, look back. There is text everywhere in my life. So far it is an extremely rare occasion where I can’t see some kind of text (numbers or words). Last night I started with a new mantra: “When I am dreaming tonight I will seek out text, when I see it I will know I am dreaming.”

didn't set an alarm but did decide to try to write down what dreams I might have, which is why I'm awake right noww~
low-level lucidity is the best yo
callin' it night 'cause I'm going back to sleep after this.

      Dream - Bear Battle
So the dream started off with me and my sister and mom in a forest just walking down the forest path ... and then a bear started hunting us. Not a good feeling. We couldn't shake it, either, had to constantly keep moving. I think I may have done some flying at this point. I'm not sure how that helped though, since it would've left my family behind.

We came to a giant slide in the forest, like you'd see at a Renaissance festival, and Mom said something about how she couldn't believe a girl had died there. Apparently the (teenage) girl had been alone in the forest and been killed and eaten by the bear on or near the slide. Notwithstanding that we jumped on it and slid down, and I was in the front so when I reached the bottom and mom started to go past, I reached out and grabbed/saved her (with a bit of low-level lucidity trying to control my expectations so I wouldn't miss) and she grabbed Jess. Then we hopped off the slide and started heading back up the hill towards the path at an angle to it, presumably to throw the bear off when it went down the slide.

Next thing, we were in a convention center, which the bear was attacking. Ben and Dad were there, and people around us were fleeing in various directions. I had the thought that my family should be safe from the bear with so many other people around to get eaten by it.

But then, for whatever reason, we headed towards the back of the building, towards a more closed-off-from-the-public area. We came across an enterprising dude who was trying to rig the elevator shaft into a makeshift bear-killer using his electricity skills. I remember thick black wires going down this empty elevator shaft which had no doors of any kind, it just opened out onto each floor. Notwithstanding his intentions, the elevator shaft seemed like the safest place for my family to be, especially when it turned out that the bear was actually in THIS area, and part of the reason it was so empty was because everyone had fled. Apparently he'd broken through the wall somehow, from the more public area into here.

I sent my family to the bottom of the elevator shaft. At this point the main focus was protecting mom, so with that in mind I set off to fight the bear. My expectations were that it might not work but I didn't exactly have a choice; I'd have to do whatever it took to protect her.

At this point the bear had gradually gained sentience, and become something of a cyborg (white robotic add-ons, sort of Portal-esque), and was now treating killing my mother as the top item on his to-do list.

A lot of bear-fighting ensued! I had flying skills, and some level of invulnerability, as well as super strength, but the best I could do was hold him off, I think. I wish I could remember more about this part, although, maybe there wasn't more? Maybe it really was just a scant approximation of a bear fight. I do remember some parts, such as one time when I got Ben to tag in against the bear temporarily, and another where the bear got past me and dove down the elevator shaft, and I dove after him and caught up in midair (my brain was like "it's because I'm lighter, it makes sense! >8O", nice try brain), but he simply said something mocking (also he sort of was warping and changing shape, like the dream couldn't be bothered to have steady graphics), and I missed my chance to punch him in midair.

I'm pretty sure I punched him loads of other times though.

And I remember we had to keep shuffling mom around to keep her away from him. He was fricking persistent.

I think one of my favorite things about the dream was the feeling I got when I decided I was going to take a bear on to protect my mother. Protecting her with my life, y'know? And since I couldn't afford to lose, I got them dream powers. There was more to it, though. I wish I could remember moooreeee aaaaaa

Uhhh and the last phase of the dream was where we left the convention center, and the bear had evolved to a stronger form, aka Godzilla. He was towering over everything and STILL wanted to kill my mother, so we had to move her away/keep her hidden in the crowd. He was angrily demanding of me to give up already, and I was calculating how far up I would have to fly just to get by his face so I could punch it. At this point I didn't stand a chance (also, he had cheater bubble powers that could vaporize things).

WHICH IS WHYYYY the Justice League showed up. I prefer The Avengers, but oh well. Superman was very handy to have. They even had a bit of a dramatic reveal, where Godzilla flung something that had a person or two inside, and Superman caught it before it could hit the ground. Then it turned into a movie, with an off-screen crowd watching from some theater somewhere.

Godzilla became a bear again, I think, which retreated into an upper floor of some building. Superman challenged it and said he would take it on anytime, and the bear/Godzilla responded sort of sulkily, while I was thinking yes, please let Superman just kill this thing already. But he didn't. He got in an argument with another Justice League member and told them "You are not battery powered," and I was like "ah yes of course that makes sense." even though it did not, while the off-screen audience laughed. And then he argued with some super-speed lady, and more laughter ensued, and the bear may have left, and then I woke up.

I had mostly fragments last night.

This is all I remember: A pole in the middle of something, a man showing off for the military, Vampires?, and Desirae

      False Awakening

I got up from bed and felt extremely tired. I think I was headed to the bathroom. I had an intense headache. I lifted up my hands I don't know for what. I fell to the floor and last thing I remember was seeing Binks.
    15. [LUCID] Jeff's troubles / Construction / Little people / Jam / Dream sharing / Tools / Synthesizer

      Side-note | Lucid

      Jeff's troubles
I'm in a room with my family, Jeff C, and maybe other people. Jeff is talking about a meeting he had with his company (Verizon) that was very difficult. It seems they're trying to bring him up on false disciplinary charges and he's having to fight back really hard. They're using all kinds of dirty tricks; this last meeting wasn't even held at the time they'd originally scheduled it for. Someone comments that Jeff's superior died recently and asks if it was because of this kind of thing, but Jeff replies that it wasn't quite the same, that he actually died of an equipment failure. I realize that my second daughter is playing with Jeff's boots, that she's got some kind of tool and is pulling plugs of leather and elastic out of the heel of the boots. Jeff is displeased, making a passive aggressive comment along the lines of "I really need those," and I take a more direct tone with her.

      Strange construction
I'm walking along a road in a neighborhood. It's a cul-de-sac, so I know it'll be ending, but I'm surprised to see that it ends a lot sooner than I think it should, with a large box of a building built right on the road. Now I'm in the building talking with one of my friends. It seems he'd managed to acquire the rights to build on top of the road, but that another guy we know heard about it and managed to acquire rights for the adjacent block. The two of them are good friends; the second man did it partly to help his friend, but also partly out of a friendly rivalry. The two are building the building jointly, though they're each staying completely to their own section and not building on the other's section at all. For such a strange joint effort, I'm impressed with how it all looks; then I notice that there's a spot where the floors come together that's really messed up and not smooth like the rest of the concrete floor. The building itself is pretty complete. It's just a huge open space, very wide, very tall, and very deep. There are some small windows, though the place seems mostly lit by artificial lighting (I don't see it, but it feels like it).

Now the building is a church. The whole place is filled with chairs. Attendance is way down, since it's summer and most of the people who live here are students who have gone home fur the break. There's some kind of discussion about recording the sermon. A woman on the other side makes a comment about knowing all about big projects since she works for (my company). I hadn't realized we both worked for the same company, so I decide to introduce myself after the service is over.

Now I have some kind of internal monologue about my eldest daughter learning to play Ultimate Frisbee. I see a large crowd of teenage players on a field, including my daughter (who's not yet a teen IRL). She throws the frisbee almost casually, yet it streaks straight to its intended target, another player. Oddly, none of the other players are moving, and I realize this is a game following some unusual rules. Her throw is perfect; yet it turns out she threw to the wrong target, so she (or her team) actually loses points on the throw. I'm disappointed for her.

      Little people in the kitchen
I'm observing in a kitchen. A young man just a few inches tall is trying to move around the edge of the kitchen island. His goal is a drawer on the other side of the island where a steak knife rests. Something goes wrong and he's not able to make it. This seems to be a family of tiny people who live in the house with the normal-sized people completely unawares. The father of the little people decides the son needs to try again. For some reason, he's full-sized, so it's easy for him to re-open the drawer (I don't know how it got closed) and flip the knife on its back so the sharp side is up (just like in the original task). The son starts to get ready got climb back up, but his brother (who's terrible at this sort of thing) decides to join him. The first brother is surprised, but the second explains that he'll need to get good at this sooner or later, and the first agrees. They approach the island, except now they're at least as tall as it is. They put their backs to it and do some kind of weird backflip to get up onto it.

      Kitchen conversation
I'm sitting with a family around a table, talking about jams and juices. I'm trying to explain to the wife that there are different kinds of juices, mostly made from fruits. This comes as a surprise to her; she thought juice always came from ???. My wife explains that most jellies and jams are made from fruit juice, not ??? juice. I'm eating something smeared with a nice berry jam of some sort. I'm still a little hungry, so I go to the fridge and get out the milk, intending to have a glass to top off. When I look at it, I realize it's separated, with white at the bottom and a milky watery layer at the top half. I realize it's just skim milk, and it would be fine if I shook it, but I put it back as I've always despised skim.

      Sharing a dream
I debated about whether to consider this lucid or not. I decided I should, since know I'm dreaming, and I manipulate it; yet my awareness was so low that I didn't recognize my wife as a DC.

I'm walking with my wife through a wide, featureless, gray hallway. I know I'm dreaming and that I just came out of another dream; yet I also believe that I'm sharing a dream with my wife a la Inception, that she's truly here with me. We discuss the previous dream, then dreaming in general. She says she doesn't think she can control the dream, so that makes me want to try. I hold out my hand, palm up, and manage to summon something small into it. I'm really pleased, as that's the first time I've been able to summon something. She tries and also summons something small into her hand; we're both really excited.

Later, we're still walking in the gray hallway, talking about dreaming. I haven't ever managed to get more than a foot or two off the ground trying to fly, so I decide to try again. After a moment, I start slowly to rise from the ground. It looks like I'm slowly falling upwards, and I think I'm going to land on the ceiling. I don't want that, and I manage to stabilize myself so I'm floating along suspended between the floor and ceiling. My wife tries it and manages to do something similar. Again, we're both excited.

At some point we talk about it being a bad idea to use the dream sharing device to share non-lucid dreams, since who knows what you'd see in the other person's subconscious that you'd rather not see (or they'd prefer you not to see).

Now we're both walking again. She asks what else can be done in dreams. I remind her of summoning things, and I'm surprised when she shows hesitation, even though we did it not too long ago. I try again, but this time I fail. She doesn't try it, instead deciding that she's going to change her hair color from dark brown to blond. I watch her trying for a moment, then decide to help her out to give her more confidence. I start concentrating too, trying to change her hair color, but nothing happens. I close my eyes so I can picture the change more clearly; unfortunately when I open my eyes I can't see anything and I know the dream is fading. After a few moments, I wake up.
I try to chain a DEILD but fail.

      Hunting for tools
It's night. I'm by myself at "home," in an upstairs bathroom, thinking back on my childhood. Now I'm in a bedroom, trying to figure out how to get into a rotten tree in the back yard; I know there's some kind of treasure hidden in the trunk. I know I'm dreaming, but I don't think much of it. I have a huge bag of tools that I think will help me, and I decide to use an explosive to open it. The bag is on the top bunk of one of my kids' beds. I don't remember setting the charge, but it has something to do with fiddling with the lights in the bathroom across the hall. I head one room down the hallway, cover my ears, and wait. I hear words, and I'm pretty sure they're announcements of how long until the blast, but I'm not willing to uncover my ears to hear more clearly. I do move so I can stick my head into the hallway so I can try to hear more clearly. The announcement seems to be in my own voice, but I still can't make out the words. Eventually, I hear a muffled boom. All the lights in the house start slowly blinking on and off, but out of sync with each other. I go into the bathroom to turn off / undo whatever I did in there, then I go into the bedroom to find what tools I have available. Looking on the top bunk, I start sorting through the stuff. I turns out to be all stuffed animals without a single tool in sight.

As I leave the bedroom, I realize that I never took the time to ground myself in the dream. I stop and slowly look around myself, trying to take everything in. I touch one wall and feel the slightly rough texture - it looks and feels like sandpaper. I touch another nearby wall which looks like it has stones embedded in it. I'm surprised by how smooth it is until I notice the thin layer of glass covering it. I kneel down and run my fingers through the carpet, feeling its texture. I'm near the end of the upstairs hallway where I see a water fountain. A little doubt crosses my mind - is a water fountain normally found in a house? - but I shrug it off and decide to get a drink. I approach the water fountain, turn the handle, and get a drink. I take note of how cold and wet it feels, and I find it very pleasant.

Now that I've grounded myself in the dream, I decide to go down to the garage to get the tool I need. Now I'm in the kitchen. My mind wanders some, thinking of Robert G. He was in the military, did well for a while (though his father was terrified he'd be killed), but eventually lost his leg and had to come home. I fondly recall him, and think that for the first few years of my life I was a G before becoming part of another family.

Now I'm going down a second flight of steps towards the garage. As I'm going down the steps I consider throwing myself down them and trying to fly, but I can't bring myself to do it. At the bottom of the stairs, I see the door into the garage is already ajar. I try to open it by thought, but nothing happens. I push it open and go through.

In the garage, I'm surprised to see that the left-hand garage door is open and that Mike D is parked outside, tools out, working on a car that's half pulled into the garage. I ignore him at first, walking to the other side of the garage and digging through my pile of tools. I find something that looks kind of twisted and not really useful, but it's a big hunk of metal if nothing else and should be able to knock the rotten wood away from the tree. I grab it and head out the garage through the open garage door. I look through Mike's pile of tools and grab something else.
, My wife's alarm wakes me up.

      The synthesizer
I'm in the audience at a concert. I really don't like the music much. Now the concert seems to be over, but the two musicians are still there, playing for a handful of people in the front row. I walk down to take a closer look. The main musician is playing what appears to be an electric banjo. As I watch, he stops plucking at it and pulls out a bow to use on it; I'm impressed and look forward to hearing what sound that makes. The bow is actually fairly nice on it. As I look more closely, I see that it's not a banjo at all, but rather a large box with belts running side-to-side in it. The bow is moving the belts side-to-side and up and down, and sensors on the ends of the belt read his motions and produce sound. As he's playing, he frequently reconfigures the belts to produce different types of sounds. He sees me watching and says "It's a synthesizer" as if that explains completely what he's doing.

      Fragment
I'm driving on a long road. It's perfectly straight without a single turn, but it goes up and down some fairly hilly terrain. I know I'll be turning right into a large church.
