    1. The Bomb

      by , 09-22-2010 at 04:20 AM
I am inside of an instructional video on the plans of a racist group that plans to destroy Africa.

I hear an omniscient narrator say: "In five years, Africa will end the problems of this world"

Then there is a nuclear blast. I see a cloud billowing up on the horizon, then I look a round and see people being torn to shreds by a wave of heat and dust.

    2. Many dreams! Like, 7, I think...

      by , 09-22-2010 at 03:22 AM (Serenity's Silver Millennium)
      September 21, 2010

Long night, decided to skip the WBTB. So as a result, I really only remember things in fragments...

      Dreamed these between 12a-5a

      Knee Clinic
Jack and I driving to a knee clinic near the train station. This clinic did all sorts of odd surgeries. I also remember having to go in, myself, for my gallbladder (which was removed a year ago). They were going to pump it out somehow without making any incisions?!

      Lucid aids
Names kept getting tossed around in casual conversations in my dreams.

      Expensive Lunch
I was with a DC at a buffet. They were serving sides you couldn't pick (steamed baby carrots and mashed potatoes), but you could choose your meat. He chose a roast chicken with gravy. It looked really good, but I declined eating there, because I was meeting my parents for lunch (so I said). The guy paid for his food and it was $56

      Convenience store guard dogs?
Jack and I went to a convenience store, cos I was really hungry and still hadn't ate. Approaching the store, I see two dogs leashed up outside. They don't seem to like me, and get visibly upset when I try to step closer. They don't mind Jack, though, so he goes to the door. He doesn't see anyone inside, so, he starts pulling the door open very slowly. The owner sees him and pushes the door open, causing this shelving thingy next to the door (outside, still) to fall over, startling me, Jack, and the dogs.

      Dreamed between 5am-10am

      Swimming pool
I'm a a large indoor pool with mum. I happen to be holding a garden hose, which we're using to fill the pool with water. It's almost full, I'm waiting for the water to reach a certain number on a display. It has to read 29/30 before I'm done (or something like that). All the while, I'm complaining that a garden hose to fill a swimming pool isn't really the best option. I try to come up with other things, like, the hose is spitting more air than water... No avail though. The reading numbers keep changing oddly, and I decide when it hits 28/32, it's good enough. There's two barrels full of liquid now, to pour into the pool (chlorine? A disinfectant of some sort?). The man over-seeing this whole operation asks us to smell them before we dump them in. Mum smells hers, and it's good to go. Mine smells funny, and it's agreed to not use it.

      Gym
At a gym with Jack or something. Notes say it, I can't recall it, now.

      At school
I'm at my old elementary school in Ottawa. The neighbourhood isn't quite as I remember it, but the school looks the same. I walked across the yard towards the road. I recall to myself that when the buses leave the school, they act much the same as city buses, and they pick people up at stops, and this is where I'm heading... to one of those bus stops (this has no bearing in real life ).

As I'm walking on the sidewalk between the road and the school, this large truck comes around the corner pulling a very long... trailer? Load? I dunno what to call it, but I worried that because it was so long, it was going to cut unsafely into my path. The thingy straightened out perpendicular to me, but it actually was off the road now, and on the sidewalk. I walked alongside it, edging away from it, on the grass (it's moving in an opposite direction to me). I pass by this one bit that looks almost like a clothes rack. I tell myself it holds a magnetic field, and as I walk past it, I can feel my earrings being attracted to the field, but no harm done.

I reached the bus stop across the road. There are parents with their kids. The parents are upset the buses haven't come by, yet.

      A Jack Entry
Although he isn't writing this... I am

He dreamed that he was at a past elementary school, with his actual past classmates, only, everyone was present age. They were learning magic at this school. He recalls having to defeat a dragon. on the recall, babe!

    3. Testing lucidity/Infallible RC is not so infallible

      by , 09-22-2010 at 03:17 AM (Serenity's Silver Millennium)
      September 19, 2010
      New dream colour PINK!

      Testing Lucidity (but not lucid?)
I was testing something in the dream. I only remember lying on the couch, but I can't recall if whether I thought I was still awake and about to sleep/dream... or whether I knew I was already in a dream, but for some reason needed my couch? I'm leaning towards the former.

Infallible RC is not so infallible
My company for this dream was Elise and Jack and this DC dude who rather liked me. He was trying to build or accomplish something... This detail is a bit fuzzy on me. I remember there being a car he was trying to fix, vaguely. We were in this house, and I spent most of the dream evaluating his actions to determine if I wanted to sleep with him or not.

At one point, I was in another room, and he was yelling at Elise for something. Losing his mind. So, he has anger management issues. That's a negative!

So, we're all standing out by some train tracks. I did a RC, and so did he. Elise wanted to know what that was all about. I explained to her that I do RC's when I become aware again, and then try to maintain my awareness.

Not a bad plan, only... My infallible RC is not so infallible. My back hurt and I felt weighted by gravity... Hmm. IWL, I do more than one RC, but never do in dreams. New plan: more RC’s I guess. Better awareness? More logic questioning? Bah.

Anyways, so we get off the train and I’m in a new dream! I'm a teenager, not myself. I approach this other girl who I guess is my sister, but I don't seem to like her (or her friend) very much. But I walk with them and talk about my friends. We've formed guilds in our school. And one was called distorted... I remember catching that (it’s the name of my old Warcraft guild) and "woke up."

False awakening. I remember waking up disoriented and thinking it's 10:15 in the AM. Almost time to get up anyways, might as well record the dream and start my day... Wait... wasn't I supposed to sleep for a night shift tonight? Woke up for real. Nose pinched. Truly awake this time

Since my recall is back to being quite stable and solid, I'm going to destroy it and venture back into DEILDs for a bit...

    4. The spider

      September 18, 2010

      Asleep by 4am.

      The spider
For the majority of this dream, I was just playing the rapid werewolf with some friends from MM. However, after one of the games I won as a wolf, I was presented with a huge black tarantula by someone standing next to me (didn't see who). I think I passed out in the dream, causing me to wake up IRL.

Forced WBTB around 9am (didn't really plan or want to do one, today).

Woke up around 2:50pm after an early morning drugging of zopiclone. It unfortunately affects recall very negatively. I can only say that I'm very aware that I dreamed something else, but can't remember what it might have been.
    5. (09/21/10) - The Steampunk/Sci-fi Life and Living Zombies - Part 3

<Click here to read Part 2>

I had the sensation of time passing, although it was an instantaneous transition from the zombie attack to what was presumably days later. My friends and I were gathered around in the apartment building to discuss what had happened. The closet door was still shut and had remained so since the zombie attack because we knew that the portal to the zombie homeworld was still open behind us. Something had to be done about that, and I also mentioned the little girl that had tried to escape them.

"We don't know how many prisoners they're keeping or why," I told everyone, "but it's up to us to get them the heck out of there. We've got to take the fight to the zombies and wipe them out once and for all."

Jane Doe looked up at me with a hint of admiration in her eye. I suddenly had the sensation that our relationship had grown over the past few days as well.

As it turned out, this would become more than just a sensation. The closet room had been converted into our battle station where we could enter and exit the battle zone at will as long as we controlled the door (which was guaranteed since the room was outfitted with other defenses now, as well). There were a few tiny rooms (just a bunk and a wall in a metal box for protection, nothing more) that we could rest in, and we did so every night to keep ourselves sharp for the next day's warfare. Even though we had proper weapons this time, it was slow going to raid the zombies since we had to filter out who was dead and who was alive, because there was no external difference that we could perceive.

Anyway, one night after about (what false memory said was) a week or so of battle, Jane and I had a little talk in one of those rooms. We'd been growing closer that whole time, and although I don't remember exactly what transpired, but we concluded that we loved each other and had to be together. So rather than sleep that night, we simply stayed inside that little room and talked or just sat in silence with our arms around each other.

But the night always has to end eventually. In the morning was another day of battle. When it was time for everyone to get up, Jane and I went out to brief everyone on the day's mission. We sat next to each other in the circle of our friends, and I moved up close and put my arm around her. The relief of being able to do that instead of refrain from it in order not to offend Jane (as would have been the case back when we were just friends) was phenomenal. I'd never felt like that before.

"Thanks." she said, as if to say 'it's nice to feel secure and have something happy for once in this bad situation.'

I briefed everyone and then we all started to head through the closet door. However, I stopped Jane before she could get through, pulled her around, and gave her a long kiss.

"I love you." I said (intended connotation: 'be careful out there')

"I will." Came the reply (intended connotation: 'I get your connotation')

And then we went out to battle. Since by now this is incredibly long, I'll spare you the details, but suffice it to say we won with heavy casualties, and those who were alive were beaten and worn out. We had freed as many prisoners as we could, but some were killed in the action. However, most of all, I was just glad the fight was over. Still...there was one last problem that found its way to me right after I killed the last zombie. A baby that had been imprisoned there lay on the ground, crying. I picked it up and ran out of the portal back to the closet room just before the portal closed up, sealing us off forever from that dreaded zombie world.

Next thing I know, I'm in the streets of the steampunk city again, several areas in ruins from the zombie attack of a few days ago. My little army of friends passed by me in line as they exited the apartment, all of them dirty and bruised. I waited anxiously for Jane, as I intended to give the baby into her care, but she never came through the line. Frantically I ran to find someone in her squad.

"What about Jane? Where is she?" I asked.

"Jane?" They replied. "I...well...she...I never saw her come out. I'm sorry."

"No." I said firmly. "She's alive. Where is she?"

      "I can't help you there."

Determined, I walked back to see if I could find her myself. But just as I did, down the stairs walked none other than a very beat up Jane Doe. I ran up to her, put the baby in her arms, then let her collapse against me as we kissed and I supported her. I knew people were watching, but I didn't care. This was my Jane; nothing was going to stop me from being with her now.

"We have to go now." She said after a long while and lots of 'I love you''s were exchanged between us.

"Go where?" I asked (intended connotation: 'I don't care where as long as we're together')

"No, I mean we have to wake up. We're all dreamers here, remember? Now just...wake up."

And I did wake up. I know that doesn't seem all that exciting now that it's written down, but trust me, the love in that dream was real and strong enough to make it incredible a thousand times over. The cool steampunk/sci-fi environment was just a bonus. And the intense battles were neat, too. Unfortunately, all that doesn't translate into plain text very well...oh well. This is an experience I know I shall not forget.

    6. (09/21/10) - The Steampunk/Sci-fi Life and Living Zombies - Part 2

<Click here to read part 1>

Once inside the upstairs room with the closet, I reached over to the nearest lamp and hit the switch. The lights didn't come on. I hit the switch again. No good. So I went to a different light and tried it, but got the same result. "Oh, that means it's a dream!"

Now if you know me, you know that I like to use doors to teleport places in lucid dreams. But my lucidity was not strong even now, and so when I opened the closet door, I did nothing but shatter everything...and lose lucidity.

All the lights and lamps in the room (which were many) flickered strange colors, as if there was an electrical issue. I didn't know what was going on, so I decided to just grab the gift boxes and go. There was an eerie blue light inside the closet that was good enough for me to just barely be able to make out what was inside. However, one step further inside, and the whole place shook as if from an earthquake. I stumbled and fell, expecting to hit the back of the closet...but instead I fell right through where the back wall should have been.

When I looked up, I was flat on the ground of a vast mass of red, mars-like sand. It was dark in the sky, so I couldn't see far, but I could feel in the air that something was wrong about this place. My feelings were confirmed when a little kid ran up to me screaming for help as she apparently fled from something...just before hands reached out of the darkness, grabbed her, pulled her into the darkness, and then...instant silence.

And now all the attention was on me.

"The portal!" A rough voice shouted from the distance. "It's open! Move, now, let's GO!"

I tried to get up and run, but I ended up being carried back through the closet by the oncoming flood of bodies that rushed through it. Once they'd gotten through and changed their course, momentum flung me into the air and into the middle of the forest of lamps that stood in the closet room. Because it was dark and there were too many lamps to comfortably navigate, nobody paid attention to me, and I watched in horror as dozens of 7-foot tall, burly, rough men rushed into the room and down the hallway right to where my friends were. Many of them brandished weapons...I knew that no one would stand a chance against them.

As soon as I found my footing, I got out of the lamps and threw myself at the closet door. I managed to shut it, but in the process cut off the finger of one of the tall men as he stuck out his hand to try and stop the door from closing. I was surprised at first to see that there was no blood...it was just a skeleton and dried up, gray insides in that finger. But then it all made sense. These were the living zombies I had heard about; those who were internally dead but externally still strong as ever. Fully mindless, ruthless bodies.

Jane Doe was the first thing to come to my mind. No matter what happened, I just couldn't let the living zombies get to her. She didn't know how I felt about her, but our relationship had a lot of potential that I intended to take advantage of when the right time came, and I wasn't about to lose my chances now.

Suddenly I had knives on my belt, so I pulled them out, ran for the stairs (which was where the zombies were by now) and with expert handling began to lodge the blades into the zombies' dead bodies. It wasn't exactly one knife = one kill, but it distracted the zombies long enough for my friends to get weapons of their own.

The battle raged for what seemed like hours. It was not an easy victory, but we did eventually destroy the zombies' bodies bad enough that they really and truly died. I remember the last zombie's death in particular...I was running out of knives, when I had gotten backed into the closet room by one final zombie. I had a couple minor wounds, so I was being cautious--not to mention this thing was huge and mighty and had brass knuckles. I landed one knife into the zombie's shirtless chest, but it merely groaned in pain and kept coming my way. I threw another one and it landed right next to the first knife, but still it didn't bleed and it got close enough to land a blow that threw me back several feet.

I was out of knives. Frantically I searched my belt, but there was none. However, after a glance behind me, I saw a blade sticking out of a dead zombie's back, grabbed it, and hurled it towards the live zombie, expecting a triumphal, last-minute kill.

It didn't happen. Despite three knives in its chest, the beast was still as alive as ever, and heading my way. I really thought this was the end...

      **BANG!**

A bullet shot echoed through the halls. The zombie collapsed onto its knees, two holes through it in addition to my knives. It cussed and swore in pain, but still didn't die.

"Finish him off!" I called to the one with the gun (who was on my side, obviously).

He emptied out his clip on the zombie, but it wasn't until easily two-dozen bullets later that the thing finally died. Still...it was over. We'd fought off the zombies.

    7. (09/21/10) - The Steampunk/Sci-fi Life and Living Zombies - Part 1

      by , 09-22-2010 at 01:29 AM (LiveInTheDream's DJ v2.5)
^(yep, I started a new, more descriptive title format )^

(Ok, I noticed that this one is going to be really freaking long, so I split it up to make things easier for you all)

Last night was one of the best dream nights I have had in a loooong time. It was one of those dreams that you wake up from and you just lie there and don't know what to say but..."woah." I mean this was a truly awesome experience. The level of detail throughout the whole dream was so intense that it was my biggest obstacle to lucidity. There were other things that should have convinced me of my dreaming state, but I'm actually rather glad I only stayed semi-lucid the whole time, with short bursts of true lucidity at key moments. I think things wouldn't have been as imaginative had I just tried to think things up on my own, but I had a good enough idea that I was dreaming to not be afraid of anything.

Anyway, enough rambling about the dream; I'll start from the beginning. Pretty much the whole thing will be teal this time, instead of trying to figure out everywhere I wasn't lucid and everywhere I was and where I was in-between.

Remember that girl from my first great WILD, and that rather romantic flying dream, not to mention some others? Well, she's back, and was in an apartment building with me and a ton of my other friends from real life when the dream began.
(Actually, she's been in every dream I've had this past week, though none of them were so memorable as this one) I'm not exactly sure what we were doing all gathered together there, but it sure was a cool place to have a party. The apartment building itself was a very sci-fi-looking place; everything about the building spoke of sophisticated technology. The walls were metal and doors were automatic, etc.

However, once outside this building, the world transitioned into a very steampunk environment. In sharp contrast to the bright interior of the apartment, things trended towards darkness except for all the lights of the city, which was large, but mostly inside one big structure of glass that sheltered everyone from the continually harsh weather outside. The atmosphere of walking through that city was incredible.

At first in the dream, that's about all I did...just walk through the city and explore. There were certainly plenty of things to see and places to go. I started out a couple stories up (walkways wound all through the city) and walked down a blue-lit spiral staircase to the ground level. Along each side of this walkway were lines of businesses--major and personal and everything in between. It resembled a street, except no cars drove on it. In fact, I don't recall ever seeing a car anywhere.

As I first began my walk through the amazing city, my awe was interrupted by a merchant lady running a personal business about ten feet away from me.

"Excuse me, sir." She said. "Would you like to buy some cupcakes?"

"Hm? What?" I replied as I turned around to see where the voice came from. "Oh. No thank you."

And I proceeded onward, putting on a steampunk-ish cloak to avoid drawing more attention. The city was amazing, but darkness still was its most prominent feature, and you could either be in constant fear of it or use it to your advantage. I chose to do the latter.

The first place I stopped at and went inside was some kind of nightclub-ish restaurant. The walls were illuminated an ominous red, but other than that, the whole place was dark. I could see only silhouettes around me. I got a drink (nothing alcoholic, mind you ) but while I was sitting there listening to the techno music playing I overheard two rough-sounding men discussing rumors that some people in the city were not actually alive.

      That got my attention.

As I listened, I gathered that there were zombies that were totally dead on the inside, but still animated and un-decayed externally, appearing to have life. They were also rumored to be the most dangerous creatures in existence.

"And the worst part," the man on the right concluded, "is that you never know which they are--dead or alive--until it's far too late."

I left in silence, as undetected on my way out as I had been on my way in, and returned to the apartment. Of course, when I passed the cupcake stand, the lady again spoke up.

"Excuse me sir, would you like to buy some cupcakes?"

      "No."

However, no sooner had I gotten back into the apartment than my friends (and that girl I mentioned earlier, in particular, who will now be referred to as Jane Doe) asked me to go buy some supplies for the party that we were having the next day. False memory told me I remembered what they were talking about, and I agreed to go back out.

Again I passed the cupcake lady, and again she asked:

"Excuse me sir, would you like to buy some cupcakes?"

At first I was annoyed, but then I realized that would actually make my trip shorter to just buy from her--and maybe it would get her to shut up whenever she saw me next.

"Yes, actually, I would." I replied.

She showed me the flavors and toppings and all that and I made my decisions and told her what quantities I needed.

"Ok, I'll have to make a special batch for that many," she said, "but they'll be ready tomorrow morning. If I can just get the phone number of the person the party is for I'll get started on it right away."

That kind of flustered me. I wasn't sure of the phone number for several reasons. One: I didn't really know who the party was for now that I thought about it, and two: I didn't recall seeing any phones in the city or in the apartment. I had very nearly figured out it was a dream when the DC interrupted:

"Oh, I gotcha. You don't know the phone number. Well, I'll tell you what. I'll go ahead and make the cupcakes and you can get the phone number from your friend and when you pick them up tomorrow morning you can get the number to me. Sound good?"

      "Oh. Yeah, that works."

"Ok, well I'll see you tomorrow morning, then!"

"Yeah. Thanks." I replied as I walked off, still slightly confused at what transpired.

I went right back to the apartment to inform everybody of the cupcake situation. I felt like I had kind of failed, coming back empty-handed like that, but nobody else thought so.

"I can go pick them up while I'm out tomorrow morning." Jane Doe told me. "That will work perfectly! Now, would you mind going upstairs and getting some gift boxes for me?"

      "Sure." I replied.

      Non-Dream Non-Lucid Lucid False Awakening

I'm getting sick, so I don't remember my dreams very good because I couldn't stay asleep for long... I kept on trying to remember by asking myself what is in my dream, but no dice.

      1. I had a false awakening. I could tell because my Wii sleep light was on, even though I unplug my Wii at night.

      2. I had two non-lucid dreams. I remembering seeing blue and white, like on a computer. Also, I remember being in a library(?) type place in another dream.

    9. W.I.L.D. or Astral Projected

      by , 09-21-2010 at 10:16 PM
This morning about 4:00 am I awoke. I looked at my clock and knew I had an hour before my alarm would go off. So I rolled over trying to stay calm and not wake up too much.

I kept still, trying to slip into a wake induced lucid dream. I've never attempted this before but I had read a little about it recently.
As I layed there, I began to feel the vibrations you get before you fall asleep. I've tinkered in astral projection awhile back so I knew what was happening, so I took advantage of it and tried to astral project.
I did the rope trick (imaging yourself of pulling yourself up a rope), and I also tried rolling over.

The next thing I knew I was standing at the foot of my bed. I was fully lucid. I said to myself "I did it!". To stay calm I looked at my astral hands (this always works for me if I want to stay in a lucid dream).
I looked at the bed and I saw my wife and myself sleeping. I tried an experiment. I waved at myself. LOL, and I saw myself from bed waving back, synchronized, like a mirror image.
I didn't want to hang around too long. I've read where people will come out of a projection if they see them self or get too close. So I went to our bedroom door and opened it to leave.
The room I entered was no longer my house. I walked through various connecting rooms passing and interacting with people I have never seen before. Trying to soak up and remember the environment.

I then thought of another dream experiment. I found a sign with writing on it. So I tried to read it, look away and look back. sure enough it changed.

I eventually made it outside and I picked up a piece of paper. I began to read it. I could see the letters so clear, however it wasn't in English.

The letters appeared to be hieroglyphics. I tried to focus on a few of them to remember what they looked like so I could bring them out of the dream with me, and then I could write it down, but I think they kept changing on me so that didn't work.

I then felt myself fading out of the dream, and I woke up. I think If I wrote down everything at that moment I would have remember more detail, but I really wanted to get some more sleep before the alarm went off.

So during some awful dream sex that I don't even want to describe takes place, some muscle bound DC interrupts me. He starts talking crap about how much better he is than I, and I cant do anything about it. My first reaction was to punch him in the face. My right cross was completely ineffective. He's laughing at me, and talking more junk. I swing again, and nothing. I can hear one of the DCs pleading to him as she says "stop messing with that boy". The DC says he could kill me if he wants to. I yelled at him, "if you can kill me, then do it!". He tried to get me in a standing choke hold but I place my left hand near the side of my face and stop his constricting movements. He's still talking crap right now, and it's so annoying. I punch him in the face with my right hand several more times, and this time his head is shaking. The third time I punch him it fees me, and he says some more crap. The next punch I threw slung him across room, and he got up and continued barking.

The female dc is still pleading to the DC to leave me a lone at this point like I'm loosing. The DC finally re approaches me again, and does nothing but talk junk. I started punching him over and over, and each blow would stop his sentences short. By now his head was spinning around like a sprinkler. I felt like I was more in control in the dream at this point, and it started fading out.

      Non-dream Dream Lucid dream

I became lucid automatically walking through a mall, I started flying while I was becoming lucid. I almost went through the ceiling, then decided to fly to the ground and write in my DJ what I wanted to do in my next dream (as was the SD task). I grabbed a pencil out of my pocket, and was about to grab a notebook, but it seemed too big to get out of my pocket, instead of willing it to come out, I just looked down to find an opened notebook, full sized.

The notebook already had things listed in it. It was a list of maybe 10 things, each less than a line long. I was going to read through it, but decided to just write instead. I did notice however (reading one of the lines) it said "I'm going to shapeshift into a wolf", which is one of my prominent dream goals, so I'm guessing they were all dream goals.

I sat down and was about to write. A weird feeling came up. I felt my whole body shake as I sat still. It made writing difficult, but I ignored it. I thought it was interesting, but somewhat annoying (it's why I didn't read through all of it). I wrote really sloppily, but I got down "In my next dream I will..." Then I couldn't think of what to do. Walk through fire I thought, but it was too easy. I didn't feel like thinking of something good to do, so I simply wrote "walk on water." to end it.

Afterwards I flew away, to go shapeshift into a wolf somewhere, or walk on water somewhere (I don't recall doing either)

Next thing I can remember, I was reading someones dream journal. Something to do with meeting their true love in a dream, under a long (oblong) moon.

Next thing I know, my mom barges into the room, and tells me to get up, it's the third time in a week I've woken up with only a few minutes till school starts. With such an abrupt awakening I lost all my memory of the dream. I sat down and thought about it for a minute, so I wouldn't lose it all. I only remembered the moon part, then went to school and taped myself talking into a video DJ, which is when I remembered the part where I was lucid.

I still don't remember even 1/5 of it, and I remember I was lucid for over half the dream. Damn.

    12. Camping and shit mom

      Non-dream Dream

I was camping with Lauren, Anthony, two other people, and someones mom.The mom told me and Anthony to come with them all to go into the words. I remember hearing something from her about how we need to take a shit in the woods. Anthony asked me why we were going, I said she wanted us to shit in the woods, cause it's good for it or something.

We go barefoot, following the mother into the forest. I was cool with the fact she wanted us to shit in a forest, but I didn't have to shit. I got to a ditch (gorge?) and was going to shit in it, but I didn't feel like shitting. So instead I let the mother get far enough to where she couldn't see us, then me and Anthony wandered around till we found this other campsite.

We found 4 guys around a table, and started talking to them. They said we should all chill together. We talked about where we lived, I remember them asking where we went to school, I said North, and they said they didn't know where that was, I said Saint Charles North, and they acted like they knew it, and they said they went to Aurora, and had to drive 13 miles to get here. Then Anthony and one of them started playing catch with something (*I think it was a CD or a frisbee).

All of a sudden, the mom (must've been Laurens mom) came up holding Lauren by the ear. "There is shit on her collar and it helps the fabric texture," she yelled, then looked at Dean and said "Alright, now you say it." Dean said he had shit on his shirt and he was proud (Lauren had a brown spot on her shirt, and Dean didn't) Dean seemed pretty embarrassed though.

It was pretty odd, I just kept my head down. The guys asked me and Anthony if we wanted to go to their camp and play some video games. We went there and they played Guitar hero while I watched. I walked away alone. I had to find someone, not entirely sure who, but I think they were back at where we all started. On my way there I saw an old lady, who had to walk up an old hill, and was having difficulty. I walked up it with her and said I was having problems too, since my foot was messed up (since it was once broken). We got over, and there was a far less steep hill we went up. At the top there was a vine attached to a tree.

The old lady said it was the fastest way, like a shortcut, and grabbed it and jumped off. She hit three branches on the way down, and when she came back (to normal ground level) she hit another one, hit the ground, and screamed she was okay. I thought (very clearly) I could do this because it's a dream, and it won't hurt. The scene changed immediately, it turned into a snowy area, and instead of a vine it turned into a rubber rope, that was attached to a zipline. She tossed it up to me and I thought "Fuck this, and walked to the left and slid down the snow. I woke up.

Not much to say there, but it was a fairly fucked up dream. I've never had a dream revolve around shit before, but then again my dreams seem fairly appropriate and even "mundane" most of the time.

I was in some weird college. I think the dream may have spanned two days. The first day was fine, found all my classes. I don't remember what they were, but I think one was English and one was math, and maybe one was a foreign language. Anyway second day came around and I was so confused. I went to the wrong class which was on the bottom floor. Then I left and went to look for the right class. I started for some really strange room, it had a big circular elevator, that was more like a ride. It went up and down several times as it also spun. Eventually it stopped and I was at the top floor, but I think it was only a two story school lol. Anyway went into my class taught by an old highschool teacher. I knew it was wrong so I left. I think I just went a door over and sat down, realizing I was still in the wrong place I raised my hand and told the teacher. I left once more. I think I rode the circular elevator/ride. This time it seemed much faster and longer. I remember people talking about what could happen. Which I acted out. They said that one day a kid could fall off and be crushed, I then fell and so did another girl, it kept coming down but somehow we survived and the dream went on. I pretty much kept trying different classes from the day before only to notice I was wrong. I also remember a slide type ride that took me to a class, but I can't recall it too good.

So all I remember is walking into a gym, it was kind of dark, depressing, ya know :p Anyway I think it was some kind of tournament with whisperings that there would be a career fair or something later. I don't even remember the team I picked or was on too well. All I know is my "rival" team was a bunch of d-bags lol. I remember them having some tough guy, maybe Italian IIRC. They also had a really tall black dude who was an ass. Well the first guy was talking trash, telling his boys and girl to mess with me and stuff. I think I left sometime during the dream, only to come back and help my team almost make a comeback, although I think we still lost lol. Well towards the end of the dream my new enemy was the black guy. He kept taking the ball, which had somehow became a big blue bouncy ball thing, and popping it. Then blaming it on me. I remember he done it once and the ball, at this point just a balloon, didn't quite explode but done what it would do what a balloon does when you let go of the end. I let it go and somehow made the basket. My glory shot lol. I also remember the Italian guy getting mad at for playing awesome defense. There was a kid there from my school, Danny Harris, he kneed me in the balls once. So I went back and done it to him. Eventually I left again, I think to go get some concrete slabs to keep my dog in lol. I came back in and the gym was now the career fair thing. The black guy was sitting next to some lady who was somehow important. He left for some reason and I took his seat next to her. These were like theatre seats. Anyway he came back looking all pissed, so he sat next to me and popped her in the head, then tried blaming me lol. I think she knew it was him but didn't say anything. I went out and got my dog as well as some kind of clock. I don't remember programming the clock, but apparently I did so that I could sabatoge him now. Went back in and he took the clock gave it to her. She turned it on and it said something like, "you'll die!", well she got mad at him. So I guess I "won" lol.

      Awake Non-Lucid

I'm walking down the blue cycle path near my house. It's a bright, warm day but with the perfect amount of wind blowing in my face. My friend Rochelle is with me. We walk and talk about meaningless things at the same time. I'm eating too, weetabix minis. Except they're not so mini. Why am I drinking this milk? I don't even like milk.

[Dream skip - A few minutes later] I'm now at home, and Rochelle is with me. I go to the kitchen, planning on shredding some chocolate to put in my weetabix. I shred the chocolate, but cheese lands in the bowl instead. I get frustrated. I don't want cheese! I eat it anyway because I'm pretty hungry, it doesn't taste too bad. My dad comes in and tells me cereal isn't good for me. I tell him to go away and keep shredding cheese.

I don't realise how long it's taken me, because when I look up again it's dark outside the windows and Rochelle has gone home. Okay... I forget about my weetabx and head up to my bedroom. My laptop's already on, on a video chat to Rochelle. Why is she crying?

"You were so nasty to me today! You're such a hostile person... You start fights with everyone!" She continues to cry, shouting at the screen. Here she goes again...

"I didn't say anything today! What are you on about?" I say, defensive. All I done was eat weetabix. She continues to rant. I partially lose interest as a pink bird lands on my bare leg. I watch as it pecks bloody holes into my skin. I shoo it away and inspect the peck marks. At least they don't hurt...

"I'm just so glad I have my boyfriend otherwise I wouldn't know how to cope with you! For three years!"

"You've known him three months." Then I chase after the bird. I grab it from the air and realise it's mechanic... But it feels real and looks real. But its eyes are red and flashing. Someone's sent this after me. I eye Rochelle suspiciously. She continues to cry and shout about how I'm such a shitty person. God, she sure can moan. I sit on the floor, cradling the pink bird in my hands, wondering about it.

Something's not right about my room. Is this how I left it? For a moment I don't even think it's my real bedroom. It's bigger isn't it? But then I dismiss the thought when the bird chirps. Then I look up. There's a doll on the floor, with creepy wide, red flashing eyes. I start to freak out, I really really don't like dolls. It looks like it's about to stand up and eat me. I scream at Rochelle to shut up and throw the bird at the doll.

Another short and boring dream. Well I better get a decent one tonight with a little action in it Or I'm going to get really pissed.

    15. 1/4 Mon, Doubt

by , 09-21-2010 at 08:02 PM (One Must Imagine Sisyphus Happy)
Yet another LD cut short by my self-doubt about stabilizing. I've rehearsed my stabilization routine so many times that I think I've developed a fear that it won't work. Next time, I think I need to shatter that doubt. I'll say "This is my world and I can do anything." I will be bold and confident.

0010: Sleep. I daydream of Never. I think maybe if I take a nap in Never then I might enter the dream world. Nothing happens but it's pleasant.

0256: C. I'm in the SAV house. Mother and sister are with me. We are talking and worried about money. I'm planning to start college. In fact, I've missed the first day. My classes are already scheduled. We decided that I should go. Then we are folding laundry, but they don't hang my pants the way I like. I say this, but quickly thank them for their help. Sister tells me something about "action opportunities". I ask if I should accept the offers on campus to join research experiments for free pizza or money.

Then suddenly there are a few unfamiliar men in the room talking. One is old and dressed like a cowboy with a cowboy hat and long white beard. He talks about how he's such a good salesman. I explains that power is more important than position. If all you have is position, you are vulnerable.

0436: B. I am on my old college campus. I get there really early for the first day, before anyone is awake. I'm not really dressed or prepared. I have on an undershirt like I wear to sleep. I sneak into a dormitory to lay down on a couch in a common room. A guy down the hall recognizes me but I don't recognize him. His hair is messy from sleeping and he has a scraggly beard. He looks for a video tape in a pile. He says I made it years ago and it will prove that I was here before. I don't believe any of this and leave.

I keep looking at my blackberry where I have the times and room numbers of my classes. My first class is in a building called "NAS-ISI" but I don't know where that is. I don't have a map. I wander to the center of campus where there is supposed to be a big map. It's a cloudy, foggy earlier morning and there are lots of DCs walking around campus. A pretty girl, maybe the student body president, is talking on a megaphone to welcome people. A lot of people are wearing the same plain off-white hooded sweatshirt. I think there's a street vendor selling this sweater because it's cold (like selling umbrella when it's raining).

I can't find the campus map and I have enough sense to think this is weird. But not enough sense to become lucid. Instead I start wandering through buildings hoping to find it. I know the general direction of the engineering area so I think I'll probably find it. The buildings don't have hallways, just rooms. So I'm walking through classrooms where classes are taking place. In one, I accidentally bump a guy in the back of the head. I say "oops, sorry, very sorry" and continue walking. I hear him mumble, "you're not really sorry". I walk through a few other rooms and reach a dead end so I turn around. I go back through the same room and the same guy says something sarcastic trying to be funny and calls me "Smith". I say sarcastically back "You're funny" and keep walking. Again, I here him mumble "you don't mean that either." I feel so clever.

In another building I pass a classroom and see an old high school friend Chris. He wants to talk but I don't want to stop. I tell him I promise we can catch up another time. He says "we have an understanding" which I recognize as an allusion to an email I had sent him. I feel bad for not being friendly, but I keep searching for my class.

Yet another building is labeled as a church. Inside, a bunch of DCs are dressed colorfully and holding musical instruments. Through that building I reach an outdoor area that I think is the engineering area. The fog has lifted. I look around for a campus map again with no luck. Again, I think this is strange. I just stand looking around as people walk by. I feel hopeless and embarrassed.

0630: C. This was after a WBTB of about 45 minutes. I ate some bread, drank some apple juice, read, and journaled. I'm driving with my father on 2-lane highway out in the middle of nowhere. We come upon two wrecked cars in the opposite lane and stop. Maybe we hit something too? Father is looking at our own car. I walk over to the other cars. One is a old beat-up muscle car and the other is a like bank security van or maybe a military APC. It was a head-to-head collision and both cars' front ends are wrecked. An oldish man who looks like a trucker has the hood up and he's replacing the spark plugs. I think that's strange because it's not really going to help the situation.

Three or four DCs come walking up to the scene along the side of the road from the far direction. I think they must be from one of the crashed cars and went looking for help. I ask "Are these your cars? Did you go for help?" They say no and keep walking by. Scene fades.

False awakening. I open my eyes and I'm in bed. The color of the sheets is the correct brown but the light is coming from the left when it should be behind me. Also I don't have my sleep mask. I'm pretty confident I'm dreaming and am about to RC but I hear a voice that startles me. I look around the room. It looks like a hotel room. It's mostly dark. It seems bright outside but only through a think crack in the heavy window drapes. There's a man in the room. He looks like he's in the mafia. He has greasy hair, a tight black shirt, slacks, and a gaudy gold necklace. Have I been kidnapped by these men? I try to refocus. I can't move my left arm. I don't panic. I look at the ceiling and notice the texture. I feel the bed below me. I sit up and nose-plug. Things feel a bit better.

The man sees me get up. He's to my left near the open door. He looks like he's about to leave. I think I see another man, similarly dressed, in the hallway outside the door. The first man warns me not to leave. I say I'm just going to use the bathroom. I get up and I'm only wearing underwear. I walk to the bathroom to my right while the man leaves and locks the door. I touch the walls. The dream is moderately stable but I'm worried I will lose it if I don't do more to stabilize it.
In retrospect, it was probably the worrying that was causing the instability.

I'm in the bathroom and close the door. I say "stabilize, sharpen, clarity." It seems to be working. I think of what to do next when the shower catches my eye. I imagine warm water running over me. Would that help stability? Or would that make it worse? Maybe it would get foggy and blurry. (I wish I could go back into that dream just so I could slap myself in the face.) I decide not to shower. I start to walk out of the bathroom but I have no plan. I only feel the worry about stability. Dream fades. Tried to DEILD but no luck.

0945 C. I think this dream was longer but I don't recall the first part. This is obviously some residue from the day when I watched a Dane Cook comedy act where he did a bit about The Price Is Right. I'm in my own apartment in the middle of the day. I'm watching The Price Is Right but I notice the set looks wrong. The backgrounds are dark blue and The Big Wheel is smaller and also blue. It looks like it has glitter all over it. I remember thinking this was strange, but not enough to become lucid. A woman spins The Wheel and wins a bunch of money. She gets excited and jumps around. On the set near The Wheel are two soda vending machines, one Coke, the other Pepsi. The woman pushes a button on the Pepsi machine a few times but nothing happens. The show cuts to commercial.

The commercial shows a futuristic Pepsi machine. A hand gets a cup, fills it with soda, then holds it under a spout that shoots out cold bubbles. A male narrator is talking over the images. I don't remember everything he said but at the end, it's a Coors ad, not Pepsi.
