    1. 25 May: Escaping tyranny, joining the dreamworld resistance, maze runner time portal

      by , 05-25-2021 at 04:13 PM (Lucid-schizo-dreamer)
      non-dream dream semi-lucid lucid FA / AP

I live in some kind of community / village, very backwards and religious, similar to a film I watched about a girl living in Cabul under the reign of the taliban. Everything is censored and forbidden and my brother is to be burnt to death on a public square the next day. At night he is kept locked in a kind of coffin, on-site and I am attempting a rescue. At some point, I see it from his point of view and I feel claustrophobic inside the box trying to break it out to escape.

I think following the previous dream, we get an escape ride from some guy of a rebel group. He looks so dreamy and he is a daredevil. He takes us to a highway with lots of self-driving trucks and then makes really risky maneuvers, like getting between them and even underneath them, between their wheels. The car has strange sitting arrangement. The three of us sit on the front and there is no gear stick so I am right beside the driver, in the middle seat. When things get really stressful, he lays his hand on my leg and I enjoy it a lot. He realizes that and he keeps it there. We stop to eat at some place and we clearly are enjoying our mutual attraction and getting cozy with each other.
I think we talk briefly about me becoming part of the resistance, so after I am safely at some apartment complex settled with my family - my mom is there too - I receive a message to please come meet someone at the window. I go to the balcony, which looks over a steep valley and I see nobody. They insist they are there and if I don't join them, they'll leave. Then I spot a guy in a blue jumpsuit, coming out from the middle of the green hill on the other side of the valley, quite far away. Then spot half a dozen others scattered around the hill. I wonder why they are so distant. One of them flies over to meet me at the balcony and then together we fly over to the other side and we fly together over some weird border zone and they tell me they operate at the border of realities. I assume they mean reality and dreamscapes. They show me an area over which they have an ongoing mission and need me and a couple others to go undercover and work at an IKEA like store. I show them my flying skills, basically levitating horizontally without making an effort, which is way better than how they do it. It is hard to explain how they do it, but it is not subtle at all. So I join two girls with whom work there and I comment how weird it is for them to have a 9 to 5 life inside dreams and be able to come back to that dream and complete the mission. Then they show me a box of make up products I should use, as demanded at our job site and I find it awful, hate the colors but try some orangey lipstick. Then start the day by having breakfast at a nearby cafeteria in the building complex we live at. I learn that ideally I should go there at this time, like about 6 am, before a lot of other people come there before work. I try to spot what they have that is relatively healthy for me to eat and see they have corn for popcorn and decide to get some packets and just cook them at home on the microwave when I don't feel like eating what they serve.

With 4 more people stuck in some square open space surrounded by stone walls. Very much like the Maze Runner. One wall opens up a sequence of doors forming a tunnel and we can see the outside in the end of it but after 5 seconds the various sections along the tunnel close starting from the end to the beginning. After we are sure of the time it takes to complete the process, we test going back and forth, and then we decide to go for it. But when we arrive at the other side we realize it is a time portal and we are seeing the past. There is a battle going on and we see ships in a port attacking a town with cannons. We have 1 sec to decide what to do and we decide going back. Then we discuss if we prefer to check the options as we're convinced the portals opens up at random places and times and we discuss what would be our ideal destination and times we really don't want to go to. It's hard because for the majority of human history there has been war or other bad difficulties, but we end up jumping into some South American country, somewhere in the 1900s. There is some celebration going on, at some town. We blend in (not sure how, as I am wearing jeans) but I notice some guy, acting like a feudal lord of this place, very interested in me and sending someone to go and get me. I slip away through the crowd and I find a Japanese old lady that I am sure I know from somewhere. She is teaching crochet to some ladies and she does recognize me. I wonder how is that possible and she tells me she has access to a portal that lets her go back to Japan in our current time and we met there once. Her English is very poor and my Spanish, which apparently she speaks well, is also not so good, but she asks me if I can crochet and we sort of communicate and I tell her the things I used to crochet and knit. But I really don't wanna talk about that. I am so excited that she has access to our present time, I go look for my friends and tell them we can go home. But some of them don't feel so excited for some reason, so they stay. The Japanese lady takes me to the portal but doesn't cross it with me, so I end up alone at night in some Japanese village and feel a bit lost and cold, but also relieved that at least this is my world.
    2. South America Tourist Fiasco

      by , 01-09-2016 at 07:09 AM
Morning of January 9, 2016. Saturday.

In my dream, I am, for whatever reason (and with a presumed but undetermined back story) on a tourist bus somewhere in South America. I am not sure of which country though the odds logically favor Brazil.

I am with my two youngest sons, though the bus is crowded and people are mostly in random seats apart from each other, including a group of girls who talk to each other from different parts of the bus. There also seem to be locals (of whatever region we are in) on the bus. My two youngest sons are the only other dream characters that are familiar in any way.

The bus is apparently on its way to the airport where people will then get to their designated flights. However, when the bus driver gets off the bus due to difficulties with a semi blocking the grassy parking area exit to the road, the bus starts to roll a bit down an embankment until it hits a large tree covered with vines. When I look out the door of the bus to the right, as I am now near the driver’s seat to see what is going on at the front of the bus, I see that the semi is actually turned on its side. One of the tourist guides, a young male (probably not even as old as twenty), who is sitting on the overturned semi-trailer, tells one of the female passengers to shut up when she reminds the bus driver that the arrival at the airport needs to be at a certain time. The person looks a lot like an obnoxious and evasive co-worker I had years ago when I worked at the Onalaska Cemetery even though I do not make this direct association during my dream.

The bus continues to remain in its position and the driver does not return. Soon, about five local South American police officers board the bus for an unknown reason. I get the impression my sons and I will miss our flight back to America (even though I live in Australia in real life). I decide we will walk to the airport even though it is likely miles away. I ask one police officer (an older chubby dark-skinned male with a mustache) if my sons and I can leave the bus and he nods to me in a friendly manner.

After I get off though, I notice my sons are not with me so I call to them and they get off the bus and join me. I had gotten off from the side door from the middle of the left side of the bus even though the door near the driver’s seat was on the right side. I do not know if there are any buses designed like this as it would not be sensible, though it may be a distortion of having been on both American and Australian buses. The police had mainly come in through the back of the bus as well as a couple from the side door.

My sons and I go down a steep embankment with high grass in a somewhat jungle-like clearing. I realize that it will be very difficult to walk to the airport (north of our location), and it looks like the bus will not move for a long time. No one has come to offer help regarding the overturned semi that still blocks the tourist bus’s path as well as police cars and a couple military vehicles. My sons and I were the only ones allowed to leave the bus for whatever reason. All of the people on the bus are considered as suspects and witnesses of an unknown crime.

I decide that I will use teleportation (even though I am not lucid) to take us all home. I close my eyes and concentrate on getting home and as I open them again, there is a shift in consciousness. I open my eyes and the three of us are in the living room on Loomis Street (where I have not been since 1994). I know my wife Zsuzsanna will be returning from the store soon.

Teleportation, flying, and telekinesis are extremely common even in my non-lucid dreams, but what gets me is the continuous recurrence of places (and unusual composites that utilize their features) where I have not been in over twenty years. Because the Loomis Street location is where many of the miraculous and unexplained links to the Source occurred, there may be some relevance there rather than as just a setting. More on this will be in another entry of this date and the difference between teleportation events and flying events relative to locations.

This morning, I dreamt of three of my previous homes and my present one. Loomis Street, King Street, Barolin Street (Australia), and our present home.

    3. Wings and claws

      by , 05-11-2014 at 06:14 PM
This guy's telling me about his cremation plans, saying that in a distant future, they're going to be able to revive people using their ashes - or rather, something about the carbon - on a specific distant planet or star or location in space he refers to as "G" followed by a short series of maybe three numbers. Seeing that place, I'm looking at vast stairs in the air, green, made of some vaguely moss-like material. Examining it, I see that it's made up of small, incredibly thin squares stacked on top of each other. The guy talking about cremation is still talking - he's saying these can be stacked so as to seem thick or thin, and they're used here in the perfect ratio to create a true geometric stairway to heaven. ("Heaven" used here to indicate something like perfection rather than afterlife.)

I'm on a green, grassy hill with two friends and a large crowd of other people waiting for some event, standing near our car. To the right, there's a great view of mountains below us, very green. I'm looking down at a town of mostly red buildings and can make out the steeple of a church; I'm aware this is somewhere in South America. There are a few other people around here enjoying the view, but among them, there's a man beating a young boy, presumably his kid. I jump in and stop him, and as we're fighting I demand what he thinks he's doing. His wife's standing here now, among other people watching, and as an answer, the man produces some letter he'd written. It talks about not being human. The wife sympathizes with him, but I'm outraged by this response, and since I'm not human either, I take personal exception to him using that to justify his behavior. We start fighting again.

Scene transitions during the fight, focusing on the blood on my wings which had come out during the fight. Now I'm in a motel room with a girl who's helping fix the feathers. A guy, a friend, comes in then and says "You two are (something about the fight and something we're looking for). I found the (thing we were looking for)." He holds up something that looks like a map, and I get up to go look at it. The girl with me is seriously upset with this guy, related to the fight, or more specifically the way I was fighting and the way he encourages me. She tells him that the guy I'd been fighting had swallowed my heart, and she'd watched me take it back from his throat with talons - she demands of the guy with the map, "That's better?!" As she says this, I remember how it had felt, though it hadn't been part of the dream before.

      (Woke up. Back to sleep.)

Setting's a sort of fantasy version of Korea, 16th century-ish. This guy has been working for an organization that's just had some great victory, completely defeated this opponent that they've been working against for a long time. Now he's just returned to their base and is alone with their leader, a tall foreign woman with this elaborately painted face like a mask and gold ornaments in her hair. But as she's congratulating him on this great success, he becomes suspicious - something's off about her. She sees this suspicion, and attacks him.

In actuality, this isn't his leader at all. 'She' is revealed to be the man who he thought they'd just killed, using an illusion (in addition to the physical costume and makeup - the illusion itself has been dropped now, the rest remains) to impersonate the leader. The enemy complains that he went to the trouble of portraying his own defeat just so the POV character would finally let his guard down, and it still didn't work! How frustrating! It goes unsaid, but they're both aware that since the POV character isn't human, he's impossible to kill unless he lets his guard down.

Two other people burst in there, an old man and a young servant, who tell their 'leader' that the POV character - who has now disappeared from the room, and I've switched to 3rd person - has knocked out two of the guards and used some kind of gas to put everyone else to sleep. One of them says that he had just been starting to like/trust that guy. The enemy in his disguise as the leader keeps one hand raised over his mouth to prevent them from noticing his identity. They move out of the room.

In the hallway, I see the shadow of a hand with long claws reaching down from the ceiling, just above the 'leader'/enemy's head; then it retreats. It's the former POV character on the ceiling. He generally tries to behave like a human being, and killing the enemy in that way would go against that effort, tempting as it is. So he loses the claws, drops down into the now-empty hall and looks around.

      12.26.13

      Last night bed 1:08 - 7:46

I'm in a south american country, maybe peru. I'm on a dusty hill with just a few shrubs. On the bottom are few houses, leaning onto the steep slope. One seems like a small local restaurant. (that day watched episode of Bizarre foods, where they were joking about eating half digested small fish from larger fishe's stomach) There is a throw up on the ground and I'm pulling a garden hose closer to hose it off.

I'm standing up high on the retaining wall and chasing dirty water into the canal grates. Somebody is picking through it, and I have a feeling that's the host from Bizarre foods. We are about to leave, so this is a last thing before I leave. But first I have to shut down the water. So I walk on the hill slope to the nearby baseball field (watched episode of Modern Family that night, in which Carol built a baseball field out of the dusty, only few shrubs vacant lot).

I get down to the dugout to look for pipes to shut the water off. I find someone else to help me figure out the correct wheel to turn.

Now we are on a local bus, either ready to leave, or already on the road. But we are stopped now and gunman with kalashnikov's are boarding. I have a feeling now that we are still in Peru, but also in Afrika, because of the looks of the gunman.

Just before they boarded, someone on the adjacent seat is showing someone his machine gun. I recognize it immediately. It's Berrett M60 and I say so, as I admire it. I pick it up and and check it out. I notice, that my hands are unsteady because of it's weight and I realize I would need to use a bipod to shoot it effectively. http://www.allmilitaryweapons.com/20...ult-rifle.html

Someone else has another assault rifle. When these gunman are about to board, I switch seats and sit down next to the guy with assault rifle. It's wraped in a t-shirt and I'm urging him to pull it out and shoot the gunman. But he is scared.

I return to my seat. As the gunman walk through the front door of the bus, I sense danger. These are types of people, that will smack you in your face with a rifle butt without any reason. So I raise my hands and lock them behind my head. I bow my head down slightly to show them I'm no threat to them, and to avoid direct eye contact. I'm not scared, I know I will be ok.

They walk past me and I watch them in a rear view mirror pull a young african girl out of her seat. I know exactly why and I wonder if same will happen to me. One of the gunman stands behind me and starts to feel me up, if I'm worth taking.

Then I see the guy with a machine gun running away from the bus, down the dusty hill, to escape. I yell at him to wait for me.

Now I'm in some kind of a fox-hole with others. I'm looking at my assault rifle. It's very modern, all black composite materials. The barrel has deep ridges. It also has a short scope. I look through it and I can't see anything. So I look at the scope and it has a slot end cap. I like it, it means I can still see through it, but the sun reflection from the glass will not give away my position. But now it's all closed so I turn the small lever to open it. Just in time, because we are being overrun. I raise it up and start firing single shots. Every one of them hits the taget. Attackers are falling down left and right. Some of them outflank us and start lobbing granades. I pick them up and lob them back. No real sense of danger.

    6. South America, Population Movement, Mom, Discipline

by , 08-29-2013 at 11:34 AM (The Redeeming Dreamer)
      8/29/2013, 10:15-6:10

Woke up once in the night at like 1:20. Didn't remember any dreams from before that. Tried to also, once again, stay up a couple extra minutes for a WBTB. Afterwards, I remember to dreams:

      Dream 1:

I was in my house. I was in the kitchen, where my mom was. I remember I did something to her she didn't like, and she started screaming at me not to do it again.

      Dream 2:

I remember South American city, and an island to the northwest of it (Hawaii?). People were going from the island to a South American city. It was like on coastal Columbia or Ecuador. This dream was entirely third person.
    7. Cannonballs, Great White Sharcks, and the TotY

      by , 01-16-2013 at 06:30 PM (Burke's Nightly Escapades)
I'm not sure if this was a DILD, MILD, or WILD. I did a WBTB at 4, said a mantra while falling asleep, and the next thing I knew I was in a dream already lucid with no recollection of any transition period or normal dream. I had three dreams and woke up at 4:45 so .

I was standing in my room, already lucid, only to find two of my friends on my bed having sex. What the hell?! I yelled at them to stop and leave and they complied with annoyed looks on their face as they walked out the door. Not the way I wanted this dream to start out, but I was lucid so I didn't really mind. That little incident made a sex lucid the first thing on my mind but I really wanted to work on the TotY so I thought about which one to do. The Colosseum task was the first to pop into my head but I had decided to save that one for last. Instead I figured I would do the Angel Falls on, South America, I think it was for.

My friends had left the door to my room open on their way out so I walked over, closed it, and envisioned myself at the foot of Angel Falls on the other side. When I opened the door, it was just my hallway. Let's try again. I closed the door, pictured Angel Falls all by itself on the other side and, when I opened it, I was greeted by a large waterfall in the middle of a rain forest. This must be it! I stepped through the door and was immediately hit with a hot, humid air that made my clothes stick to my chest. This stickiness made me realize that I hadn't stabilized yet so I quickly rubbed my hands together and took in a big, deep breath which was quite difficult with the humidity.

I had been in a rain forest once before, in southeastern Mexico, but these seemed much thicker and wetter. In front of me lay a huge waterfall, though quite thin. The whole thing was probably 1000 feet high but only 10-20 feet wide with a surprisingly little amount of water in it. I looked at the bottom to make sure there was a sufficient pool of water for when I jumped down and it looked like a good size: about 40 feet across and seemed deep enough. I started to float up to the top of the falls and noticed that there were a lot of rocks and bumps along the path of the waterfall, something which couldn't be seen from the ground. In order to get past these I would have to jump fairly far out.

I reached the top and landed on a small, rocky outcropping just alongside the falls. I looked over the edge and started to plan out which route I would take. I looked at the pool below to find a good landing spot, one that would be deep enough but also big enough to hit. I picked a spot in the pool that was darker and looked deeper than the rest. I took a few steps back, took a deep breath, and then leaped off the edge. I curled up into a ball and yelled, "Cannonball!!!" There were a couple seconds of awkwardness as I kept falling after I yelled that. The second I thought, "Hmm, I probably should have hit the wat-" I slammed into the water, right on my butt. That was uncomfortable.

A split second after I hit the water I felt a soft, muddy bottom and my feet sunk in a few inches. I pushed up from the bottom to re-surface but my feet got caught in the mud a bit and made this a wasted effort. I slowly floated back up to the surface and, upon lifting my head out of the water all I could see was white. There was suddenly a big cloud of mist from the waterfall, something that should've been there the entire time but for some reason never was. Well, that was it, I got another TotY done. I proceeded to fill that urge I had at the beginning. Right when I reached the pique of that, I
      woke up.

I had prepped myself for a DEILD in the dream prior to this and was ready for when I woke up. I relaxed and went back to sleep, making sure to stay awake. After only a few seconds I was back in a dream, in my room once again, and checked my hands to make sure I was in a dream. They looked normal as a whole but seemed a little off for some reason. I did a nose-plug to be sure and I could definitely breath. It was still nighttime and was completely dark in my room so I walked over to my light switch and flipped it on. Of course, this didn't work. I was messing with it for a second but then realized, "Dur, it's a dream!" I yelled out, "Lights, please!" and the room became bright.

I figured I would go for a second task since this was technically another dream. I decided on the Australia one and went through it in my head to be sure I wasn't missing anything. I had to hitch a ride on a turtle or something and then bite a great white shark, I think. I decided to try something new to get from my house in America to the great barrier reef in Australia. I went outside into my backyard and, for some reason, it was summer, which helped for what I wanted to do. I jumped into my pool, inspired by the Angel Falls task, and pictured the great barrier reef. When I resurfaced I was off the coast of what I believe was Australia with corals and fish around me. It worked!

I had never tried breathing underwater so I though this task would be a good place to try. I went underwater and at first tried to hold my breath to see if I could just do that forever but it didn't work, I had to breathe. I hesitantly took in a small breath through my nose and was somehow able to breathe, though it felt quite odd and still freaked me out a little bit. I looked around underwater, looking for a turtle to ride on since I wasn't sure what else I could. I saw brightly colored fish and a lot of coral but no turtles. I came back to the surface and looked around. I looked on shore just a few dozen yards away and there I saw a handful of turtle lying on the shore. I whistled to them, trying to get them to come over, and, now that I think about it, treated them like dogs .

But it worked. A couple of them looked up and over at me and began to make their way to the water. It took them a while just to move the 15 feet to the water but once they got in, they zipped right on to me. I grabbed one by its "shoulders" as it came by me and just hung on for the ride. It swam all throughout the reef, from various blue-green coral to pink colored sand at the bottom. There were countless amounts of fish, from rainbow striped to orange clown fish hiding in anemone. I rode around on the turtle for a few minutes but then remembered that I had to bite a great white shark. I looked around and all I could see were gray reef sharks circling down on the floor of the reef. They weren't doing anything interesting and I knew it had to be a great white so I let go of the turtle and headed out to see.

I had never really swam before in a lucid dreaming either so this had a lot of firsts for me. I experimented with swimming arm over arm like you're taught when you're a child, but that did little when I was completely underwater. I then tried moving my legs up and down, similar to a dolphin, and that worked quite well. I was moving much faster and had a lot more control that I did just flailing around aimlessly. Just a few seconds after I got the hand of swimming I saw what looked like a great white off in the distance. I swam towards it and as I got closer I could see that it was, indeed, a great white.

Sure, I could go up and bite it plain and easy, but what fun would that be? I pictured an orca whale, the only creature I could think of that would hunt sharks, or at least attack them. I felt weird and, when I opened my eyes, I had transformed into an Orca Whale! It felt odd not having arms or anything, and my vision was quite different, given that my eyes were now towards the side of my head, but it was definitely more interesting than being myself and going up and biting a shark. I spotted the great white and headed over to it. I picked up a lot of speed, opened my mouth, and bit right down on its tail, slamming into it with full force. The shark was obviously caught off guard and, being alone, tried its best to right back. I dodged its attempts to bite me back and continued to hit it. After about 30 seconds of me biting him in various places and dodging all its attacks, it swam off into the distance. Take that, Jaws!

I started to turn back into myself afterwards and pictured me with my arms, legs, body and head, as well as come clothes. I could feel my arms (which were now fins) turning back into themselves and by legs (which were now a flipper) separating again and my whole body grew smaller. Right as I was about to become myself again, I felt the dream start to fade. I quickly finished the transformation and rubbed my hands together, remembering that I had never stabilized this time. Unfortunately, it didn't work and I
      woke up.

Luckily, I was able to prepare for another DEILD that would end up begin successful. Instead of doing a third task I just mimicked the ending of my first dream. I'm still not sure whether the first one was a WILD or MILD, but I got lucid so I didn't really care .
