    1. 01/4/11: Mirror and chaos

      by , 01-04-2011 at 10:53 PM
I can't sleep, it's 4 in the morning. I try to lay still, barely moving anything until I can't feel my hands, just to get at peace. I fall asleep after a long struggle. At some point I find out I'm dreaming with no specific RC. I drop to the floor to stabilize. I control minor things, like the size and shape of objects. My limbs start growing weird deformations on the skin, but they don't bother me that much. Much later, the deformations have turned into dead skin flaking off. I walk around talking not really doing much. I pass a mirror for the first time and look at my horrible, deformed face for a second. It wasn't that scary in the dream, but when I woke up, I realized it was the scariest thing I had ever experienced. I have some semi-lucidity. I wake up many times during the night. I can't remember not dreaming at any moment during these 4 hours. The alarm wakes me up, I ignore it, not feeling well enough to go to school. My entire family oversleeps and my dad wakes me up to tell me. I tell him I won't be going to school today. I go back to sleep and have weird, lucid dreams. I wake up feeling scared and depressed, shaking, afraid to move. I watch some Family Guy to get back to reality

I go back to sleep later, and I wake up. Over and over. I can't believe I have slept this long, it won't pay off when I go to bed later. Anyway, I am still sleepy, and my cat jumps up in my bed. I feel safer with company I decide to have a quick, lucid dream. I do, and I have a notion that I need to find a woman. I follow where I "know" she is going through my house. Then I am distracted as I gain lucidity again. I start walking towards my room. The closer I get to the open door with the lights on (I left them on as I went to sleep), the more my vision starts to flicker and flash in white. Everything starts shaking. I stand in the door, watching the empty bed (because no, it is impossible to enter the physical world from a dream, you can't find your true self in a dream). By my bed is a skull made of clay. This scares the crap out of me for some reason. I wake up, but I can't open my eyes. I try to calm down, it doesn't work. I try to force them open with my fingers; impossible. I sit up. I can somehow "see", even though my eyes are closed, and all I visually see is darkness. I try to figure out what to do as I suddenly wake up for real with a fast inhale. My cat is still sleeping on me. I am a little shaky. Unpleasant once again, and I am officially afraid of mirrors.

    2. quick projection

      by , 01-04-2011 at 05:35 PM
I had noticed that my body was entering paralysis and was soon able to see through my closed eyelids. I saw the side of my girlfriends face start to deform and grow into what looked like a tiny city of skyscrapers. She began speaking in an inhuman tone and then the fear came. I tried waking myself and was not able to. I then tried shaking her awake, by pushing her arm. I guess I thought she would be able to help me wake up..

I then woke up and realized that the hand I was using to try and wake her was my astral arm. Even though I could see it, i hadnt noticed. I was mad at how close I was to being out of my body and then waking myself up. I tried to move as little as possible, stay calm and go back to sleep.

I entered paralysis very quickly and then lifted my arm up once again. It was transparent, and of a sky blue color. I then tried sitting up, but got stuck at my waist. It felt as if I was permeating through a membrane when I sat up. I have never felt that before, and I think the reason I did was because of hearing other people talk about that. I asked for someone to help me out, and then swiftly floated completely out, hovering 2 or 3 feet above the floor, in front of the bed. When I asked for help, (from my guide) i did not feel the presence of anyone else enter the room.. must have helped myself out! Now i am floating up to the ceiling. It is strange I always seem to feel more comfortable near the ceiling while I am out of body. anyways I look down at the bed and saw my girlfriend sleeping, however I was not there!? I stay there for 10 seconds or so, and then wake up. hopefully I can project again soon. its been a while and felt good to do it again!

    3. Missed lucids

by , 01-04-2011 at 04:45 PM (Nom nom nom, Mmmattelicious...)
      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID FALSE AWAKENING

Good morning! Had the same strong intentions of becoming lucid last night as I did yesterday, and it kinda worked. I rememeber waking up and I had the memory of having a nice lucid, but not a single memory of the dream itself! I was kinda mad at myself for forgetting as I usually have good recall. Anyways, the rest is below.

      01.45: Bedtime

      08.05: Fragment
*I'm sucking on a few Omega-3 pills. They are sweet.

      08.05-09.00: WBTB

      10.45: DEILD
I'm lying in a bed. My friend Eric's on the bed next to me and we're talking about work. "I refuse to let our friendship come between work, this career is too important for me" I say and I'm crying for some reason. He notices it and smiles at me mockingly, like I'm a child or something. I get up and walk towards a few computers. My friend Henrik is sitting at one and he's playing WoW. I am about to go to my computer when I notice that the character is moving on its own.

I realise I'm dreaming but I start to feel my body instantly. I end up in SP and I can feel my arms twitching and spasming. I relax and try to enter the dream again. I can hear newspapers flapping and the wind is picking up. "I am wearing earplugs, that's just the SP" I tell myself. I open my eyes in a very bright room. I'm on the matress on the floor next to the computers. I try to sit up but it's so hard work! I relax as I do a situp in slowmotion. "Need to stabilize the dream" I think and put my hand up to my face.

I realise my real eyes are open and I'm lying down in my real bed. My hand isn't really there, it's on the side. "Damn!" I think and don't realise it's just a very realistic FA.

10.45: Playing tag at the supermarket
I'm at the local supermarket with my brother Martin. We're playing tag or something similar and I've just lost him by running around like crazy. I intend to fool him and I pick up my cellphone. "If I turn on a ringtone and place it on the toilet, he'll be fooled" I think as I bring up the song I want. I put the phone on the toilet and leave the door open just a little bit and run away quickly before he shows up. Martin shows up after a few isles and he tackles me. "You're it!" he tells me and runs away.

I realise I've got no shirt on and my work helmet is on my head. People all around are watching and I kinda feel guilty as I don't act responsible at all. Apparently I'm an employee. I spot my friend G. He's smoking a cigarette and seems to enjoy it alot. Some other people are also smoking next to him and I realise there are alot of people coming from somewhere. Some guy is handing out bags with supplies to the newcommers.

      10.45: White dog
I'm standing on a porch overlooking a backyard. My family is there with me and we're all watching their dogs run around and play. I don't recognise one of the dogs, a white husky-looking one. It growls at me and I back away. They continue on playing and I ask my dad about the dog. "Oh, we're just watching it for some neighbours" he tells me. The dog growls at me once again. My family goes out on the grass and leaves me with the white demon dog. It starts going towards me, growling. I can see its fur trembling, kinda like a cat's. "Hey dad! Tie this dog up will you?" I tell him. He takes the dog and ties it to a grey plastic seat.

      10.45: It's a trap!
I'm some kind of detective and I've got a partner. We enter a very old looking house. I take the stairs down to the room below. I enter a room and it's filled with strange gadgets, small pictures and old stuff. I pick up a picture and look at it. Suddenly I get a creepy feeling, the house is way too quiet. "Oh shit, it's a trap!" I think and run out of the room and up the stairs. A young girl is standing in the hallway and asks me what's wrong. I don't buy it and throw her to the side. A woman comes out of a room just as I run past it and tells me I shouldn't leave. I run as fast as I can towards the porch door. I slam the door open and throw myself over the edge. I fall in the dark for a while.

      10.45: Aunt and uncle
I'm at some relative gathering. My uncle and my aunt is there. I greet my aunt, she kisses me on the cheek then looks at me in a weird way. "You need to shave" she tells me. I touch my chin and tell her I will soon. Monica tells me she wants to go home and I ask her if she's had anything to eat. "No... I'm not sure I'll like it" she tells me. I take a look at the food offered. It's some kind of sausage stew with pasta. She takes a plate and pours some on the plate with a plastic dishwashing brush.

      12.15: Flying
I'm in a barn with some other guy. We're looking at a small propeller plane. I read the instructions. "If the propellers stop working, you can do this to keep the plane going" it says and I can see a picture of a man making the plane fly with bicycle paddles. We go in the plane and fly around over the woods. The dream skips. I'm standing next to a lake now. The plane is gone but who needs a plane when you can fly yourself! I fly around the lake a couple of times before I go down on the water and skate on it for a while. The person I'm with wants to learn aswell. I grab him/her and try to fly. I've got a safety belt holding us together, but it makes it all harder. We manage to fly a little bit.

      14.00: WoW
I'm playing World of Warcraft. There's a huge fight and I'm playing my warrior. It's going very well for my team and I'm charging all over the place. My friend Jonas shows up all of a sudden. I enter the game and we talk as we're dueling. "So, how are you?" I ask him and kick him in the stomach. He grunts in pain as he explains how his stomach had a hole in it, and that he started burning from the inside. I kick him in the solar plexus and he can't breathe. We fight for a while longer, I land one more kick on his neck.

      14.00: Wake up

      Amount of sleep: 11 hours

Supplements before bed: 200 ml applejuice, 2 x Omega-3, same at WBTB

That's it! I am so frustrated! I must have been lucid while flying around, I clearly remember the feeling of lucidity and freedom. I almost always realise I'm dreaming when I am flying, but I don't have much recall of that dream as I didn't wake up at 12.15 to write it down. Anyways, a successful DEILD is always something!

      Keep on dreaming, HARE BRA!
    4. the "okay, calm down now" attitude attempt

      by , 01-04-2011 at 03:52 PM
I tried to go with something that isn't *instantly fly up and then just do something*

I became lucid, can't really remember what was going on before that...

Remembering my words to myself before I went to bed, I just looked around for a few seconds.

"hmm, what should I do now.." a bunch of ideas came popping into my head, and suddenly I was in a huuuge crowd of people, they were smacking against me as they passed me and it became very frustrating. I was losing lucidity, but I started rubbing my hands, then closed my eyes and reopened them quickly and I was in this huge hole in the ground. Like miles beneath. I looked up and I could see the light up there. I flew up extremely fast, and a boulder was coming at me from above, like someone inserted it into the hole. I put my fist up and the boulder shattered. Once I was out of the hole, I again pondered what to do. So I flew again, and it was one of the most epic feelings. I flew before in my dreams, but this was just awesome, I gained total control over it, I could feel the air pressure my body as I soared through the skies. Apparently I was in this city that had an ocean next to it. I flew really fast, really close to the water, and I looked behind how the water moved beneath my line of movement, it was so awesome.

And after this some noise in the house woke me up.

failed to just calm down and explore other things besides flying, but at least it was a better-than-usual lucid dream with more control and better recall.

    6. I walked through a wall while lucid! Woohoo! (Night of December 21-22)

by , 01-04-2011 at 07:32 AM (The Lab Notebook)
Awake, Non-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

[This is a catch-up post. This dream is from the night of December 21-22, 2010.]

I'm at a ticket booth in a train station, trying to buy a round-trip train ticket from home to L.A., where I plan to spend the day. The train ticket costs $35 and change; when I receive my ticket, it's a plastic card with my picture on it.

I'm at a desk at a music studio, explaining that I'm there because I want to record a demo. The lady at the desk doesn't want to accept a demo from me, until I mention that it's for a contest. She takes out the CD she has of demos for the contest, puts it in her computer to see how much space is left, and sees that there's enough space on it for one more song: six minutes. She tells me I'm lucky, because I'll be the last person to enter a song in the contest.

      I'm standing outside some building
[the music studio? I'm not sure; I get the impression this may have been a different scene], near the side door, waiting to get in to do something. I realize I'm dreaming and turn away from the door, looking at the other buildings on the street around it. Again, the scene looks just as sharp and vivid as reality. I hesitate for a moment, deciding whether to go along with the dream plot or go off and do my own thing. I choose the latter and take off, flying away. All it takes is an act of thought and willpower and a very slight push off the ground with my legs and feet. I have no problem taking off, but I immediately find myself being pushed backward again, unable to fly forward. Then I realize that it's only the wind pushing me in a particular direction, and if I let it carry me instead of trying to fight it, I'll have an easier time of flying. So I let the wind push me along, and it is, indeed, much easier.

I'm flying over a town. I remark aloud, “And, of course, it's another beautiful, perfect, sunny day here in the dreamverse!” I'm complaining again about the lack of snow.

While flying, I happen to pass over the backyard of a gray building that might be an older apartment building, and I spot two duplicates of myself there. I land in the backyard to get a closer look, but I don't want them to see me, so I try to will myself to be invisible to them. I can't tell whether or not it works.

I wake up in my bed. I'm a little disappointed to be waking up so soon from a lucid dream. I can clearly see a single eyelash moving back and forth in front of one of my eyes as I open and close them. I'm lying on my right side. Looking across the room from this position, I can see my closet. I think, I can't see the closet when I'm lying on my right side in bed in the room I have now. This is my room in House #1. I'm still dreaming! This is just a false awakening!

So I walk out into the living room of House #1. I look around to see if there's anyone else around, but there isn't; I'm all alone in the house. Since there's no one around to see me do it, I decide to try to walk through a wall. The wall I choose this time is the one directly to the right of the front door (as I'm facing the front door from inside the house). This wall separates the living room from the kitchen.
[This is exactly how that house is laid out in reality, too.] I say to myself, “I'm going to walk through this wall,” and start walking through it. It's not completely solid to me, but I do feel a slight resistance at first. I continue pressing forward, and feel something hard, but thin (like a very thin sheet of balsa wood) break under the pressure my body is exerting. I continue walking, and end up on the other side of the wall, standing in the kitchen. Looking back, I see that on this side, the section of wall I've just walked through is blank except for a couple of metal panels with doors in them, like the kind that cover circuit-breaker boxes. [In the real-life House #1, there are kitchen counters and cabinets attached to that section of wall. Go figure.] Said metal panels are on a flap of drywall that is now sticking out from the wall at an angle, like a door. My passage through the wall has left a big, rough-edged rectangular hole in the drywall, the same height as I am. I can see the inside of the wall, and how thick it is, because the hole goes all the way through. This wasn't what I had been expecting to happen, but nonetheless, I say aloud, “Hell yeah! I did it! I just walked through a wall!” I'm pretty proud of myself. [Actually, that does make sense. I've had enough experience helping to build houses and doing home improvement projects in real life that I have a very detailed and complete schema for what the inside of a wall is like. I'm not surprised that when I said, “I want to walk through a wall!”, my mind answered, “okay, but you know that means breaking a hole in the drywall.” Interestingly, though, there were no studs to be seen in the dream.]

After that, I go out onto the street that House #1 is on. I climb up on top of a car that is parked on the street in front of my house, just because I can do so with almost no effort (unlike in reality,) but I don't start flying again. I just climb down the other side and walk along the streets of my neighborhood, which are also laid out just like they are in reality. The dream starts to fade, but I focus my vision and attention on the environment around me, and successfully bring it back into focus. Then, off in the distance, I see several tall, scary-looking metal structures rising up above the houses. They're as tall and narrow as construction cranes, but they aren't construction cranes. I'm frightened, so I run off and hide in a nearby public restroom.

[At this point, the dream transitioned from a lucid dream to a long, elaborate non-lucid dream that I don't remember much of now, so I'll summarize:] I'm watching a sci-fi story unfold from third-person perspective, like watching a movie. In it, people are punished for using long words. My dad is one of the people being punished.

When I woke up, I discovered that I actually had managed to fall asleep while lying on my right side in reality, corresponding to my position in my false awakening. I also realized: It's my dream. I don't have to be scared of anything I see in a dream - I can make it go away, by ignoring it, if nothing else. I can also transition to new scenes at will, and could find some snow that way. I just need to learn that these things are true.

      ----------
      Side notes:

I had this dream the night after I had had a small, private celebration of lucid dreaming, as I'd announced in this thread. I was so proud of myself that I'd not only had a lucid dream that night, but had accomplished one of my lucid goals in it!

    7. First LD in Awhile...and First Shared Dream?

      by , 01-04-2011 at 05:32 AM (Krista's Dream Journal)
I finally had an LD for the first time in a very long time!!!
This was also a potential shared dream with GMoney, but he doesn't recall any dreams from last night. We'll have to try it again. For now, here's what went down last night.

      Dream
      LD

It started out with me at my family's house. Everything was vivid and clear. I had just purchased a new smoking apparatus that involved crystals and had something to do with dreaming. I opened the box in the downstairs bathroom, which was covered in my dirty clothes (it is in waking life too, haha ). I left the box in the bathroom, then went to go smoke some pot. I was high, and didn't care that my parents probably knew. I think I did this a few times, sneaking around to get high then returning, then I had to go take care of a neighbor's dog. So I got on my bike-scooter thing, it was almost kinda like a Segway, and rode down the street, high as a kite. I crashed into a short wire fence, and hit the soft, green grass. It didn't hurt at all. An older woman with a curly gray perm approached me and asked me if I was alright. I told her I was fine. She asked if I needed a ride, and I told her no, I could walk since my house was right down the street. I went into the neighbor's house, which looked like a cabin on the inside. There were a couple of other people there. I think I got high again, then I left the house. Now, I remember being in my car in my family's driveway. I was still high. I couldn't get it to start properly. It would start very slowly, then I'd drive forward and backward in the driveway, never really parking.

This is where I became lucid. I don't know what triggered my lucidity, but nonetheless, I was excited. I examined my hands so I wouldn't get too excited, then I started messing around, floating through ceilings and stuff. There were so many things I wanted to do! I hadn't been lucid in so long. At one point, I tried to make my ex, A, appear, so I could ask him some things, but quickly got distracted. I knew there was something I had to do, but I couldn't remember what. I was floating up through a ceiling, and the scene was very strange. I was inside, but only the bottom half of eveyrthing was inside. The top half of the dreamscape was outside, and I saw rolling green hills under a clear blue sky. It was beautiful.

Then, I remembered the goal I had set: To share a dream with GMoney.
Before I went to bed, I read Man of Shred's shared dreaming tutorial, then wrote down my goal, and how I was going to achieve it by creating a portal to GMoney's dream. I had also come up with a password, 'cheeseburger' is what I picked. This had all been discussed in the Research forum, except for what the password was. That I had to come up with on my own. Now, I'm in the cabin again, and I was with NS, whom I hadn't seen in a very long time in waking life. I created the portal by saying "Portal, APPEAR!", and sticking my hand out in front of me and concentrating. Lo and behold, a shimmering purple portal appeared in front of me, accompanied by ambient music. I asked NS if he wanted to go with me, and he didn't respond, so I took his hand and jumped into the portal. I kept my focus on my hands so I wouldn't wake up. There was a shimmering purple mist surrounding my hands, it was so vivid. We floated in the purple hazy darkness for awhile, when I realized that it wouldn't work because NS couldn't come with me.

Now, everything fades to black, and I'm in my family's driveway again. I repeat the portal process, and this time, a light green portal appears. I jump in, and focus on my hands again, which now have taken on a light green mist. It takes but a few seconds for me to reach my destination. The portal had taken me to another cabin-type room, with two twin-sized beds, a nightstand with a lamp softly illuminating the room between them, and a full-length mirror propped up against the wall, like the one I have in waking life. There are three teenage boys in the room, two are sitting on one of the beds, and the other is sitting on the edge of the other bed. I quickly pick the one on the end of the bed out as GMoney. He appeared to me as a 15 or so year-old-boy, with light brown skin, a black shirt with some kind of circular pattern in the middle, and very colorful, beaded sleeves.
      "GMoney?", I said.
      "Yes?", he replied.
      "It's me, Krista from DV."
He beamed, and so did I. I approached him, and we stared for a few seconds, not able to wipe the smiles off our faces. I remembered that I had to tell him the password, and I stammered,
      "The password...the password is 'cheeseburger'."
      "Cheeseburger...", he said, dreamily.
We hugged for a long time, and it felt so warm. I was so excited to be having a potential shared dream!
"Thank you for welcoming me to DV.", I told him.
I put my forehead up against his, and we kept smiling, so excited about (possibly) sharing a dream. The two other boys in the room, one blonde and one with a buzz cut, did not notice us. One of them said
"Man, is he out?", in reference to GMoney. He was supposedly asleep on the bed in between them, but I didn't see his body.

Then, I started to ask GMoney about his clothing, and if it appeared to him like it did me. I started to describe the colors of his beaded sleeves, which were white, dark red, orange, and dark blue. He said I had it all wrong, and started to describe them as much different colors. I then asked what I was wearing. I thought I was in my work uniform. He told me I was wearing dark blue hoodies. I looked in the mirror, and I looked like I did when I was 14, before I had ever colored my hair or anything. It was its natural dark brown. I was also wearing a black hoodie, and I told GMoney this. I was wearing my very old work pants as well. I lifted up my hoodie to see the shirt underneath. It was black with pictures of photographs on it. Then, I noticed that the two other boys in the room were up, one was standing on the bed and watching me, the other was standing off to the side, behind the bed. The one on the bed said to the other,
"Dude, you're missing the best part!"
      I then asked GMoney,
"How can they see me?", to which I received no reply.

Then, I knew I was going to wake up, and I did.

Then, I had a regular dream that I was at work, watching a lady with her young, blonde daughter. The daughter wanted all these things that we have that are made by local artists, and the mom said no, and started to leave. The daughter pitched a fit, and I thought to myself "This must been what it was like to raise me."

Props to you if you read this far. The LD/shared dream was extremely epic and vivid. I was so excited to have accomplished the goal I had set prior to falling asleep. Also, I've NEVER had the level of control in an LD that I had last night. I've NEVER created portals before, and I've NEVER even entertained the idea of sharing a dream. I was very proud of myself, and very excited. I even managed to stay in the dream, despite how excited I was. I kept a level head.

Thanks, DV! I couldn't have done this without you.

at a lake house playing a game, i was a pleisosaur and the enemy was a dolphin (we were really those creatures)and there was the animal kingdom tree at the center of the lake. I had slight control but i wasnt too lucid, I jumped up and down surging my aquatic body in and out of the water at high speeds it was quite fun., but then I was in a lakehouse and with my mom and brother she asked if i was going to the zoellers later. I apparently lost my bit o' lucidity.

phase 2: walk rand road empty at night on facebook via laptop?

phase 3: with a girl I apparently survived a ferris wheel of death... then the girl mentions twilight *facepalm*
    9. Failed lucid investigation

      by , 01-04-2011 at 03:31 AM (Robo's Dreams)
I took a break from dreaming for awhile because I felt I didn't have the correct mindset for it, now I'm back and hoping that this is the last break I take for awhile.

right as I fell was falling asleep, I heard some sort of pulsing above my window, still not sure what it was. when I fell asleep, I had a false awakening. I got out of bed and felt odd, so I did a reality check, I was dreaming. I decided to investigate the pulsing sound that I had heard earlier that had stopped at this point, so I floated up through my roof. I was halfway through the ceiling when I gasped, "Dream guide" and woke up.

I'm not sure why I said that, I have no memory of seeing anything above my roof... oh well.

    10. Duplicating Items - My second Lucid

      by , 01-04-2011 at 02:54 AM
      Non Lucid
      Lucid

Well, at this point in time I don't remember much. Better than earlier - I didn't remember anything.

Well, it started I was in my house, waking up. Felt very early - the clock we recently received as a gift was one of the first things I noticed and viewing it, brought back a bit about the dream. I sat down, and remember thinking about a Black TV. I then remember looking down and spotting my hand. The second I spotted my hand I pulled them up, and bam. I know I'm Dreaming. I got excited, the dream started to fade. I rubbed my hands together, a bit skeptical at first, but it seemed to work. I felt a lot more connected to the dream, and I as if I was actually in full control. A way I'd explain it is by saying, think about smoke, think about it going away over time, that's what it felt like. I then rub my hands together a bit, and it all connects back together and forms a very strong smoke cloud.

I have two paintings on the back wall. I stood up, looked at them and tried to pic them up. For some reason I couldn't, so I tried again, just thinking about it moving. That's what worked, after doing so, I closed my eyes and tried imagining the painting duplicate. It didn't work. So I tried again, but putting my mind to it a lot more. The item became two. At this point it was still dark, and that's how I know this came first. Aswell as having problems remembering it a lot more than remembering the most recent parts. I remember becoming VERY excited again, I was very happy and very excited. I tried another object, a red and a black box behind the sofa? I believe that's what it was. I then tried duplicating this item. To my surprise, it worked! My excitement levels increased, making the dream become fading smoke once again. I put my hands together and rubbed. It didn't work as well, but it did somewhat. The next thing I remember is a TV, but at this point it's light outside, and not just becoming light, but very light. Around 12:00ish, I remember picking up the TV, and increasing the TV's size, aswell as duplicating it, and placing it where my Christmas Tree had been.

I must have got carried away, because the next thing I remember is sitting down on the Sofa and getting ready to eat. Just as the Kitchen door was about to open, I woke up.

My second Lucid. I'm very happy, and I believe my Dream Recall is a lot better. Sadly once again, that's all I remember, I'm sure a lot more happened in the dream however.

    11. 01/03/11 Run With the Wind

by , 01-04-2011 at 02:02 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Plans: My plans tonight include returning to one or both if the Harry Potter worlds I have been visiting on a regular basis. I also want to take a shot at one or both of the Lucidity Power Trial Club tasks... the one where there is a giant tree draining the life energy of a planet and the one where I have to challenge Sonic to a footrace. With these goals in mind, I fell asleep with my light / sound machine and slipped into a WILD.

I am in a city of some kind, though it isn't really like any city I have seen before. I look around at the buildings, which all look rather futuristic, though they still look a lot like normal buildings in cities in waking life. There are many graceful paths connecting the buildings, with transport pods moving along those paths. I look around and see that there are some others there with me, I spot Sonic the Hedgehog from the video game series… he is talking to a couple of others, including Tails and Amy. Shadow is off to the side a ways doing a very good imitation of Vegeta, with his arms folded and looking in the opposite direction as if he is no more interested in Sonic than he is in a small bug that is flying around Sonic's head. I go over to Sonic and get his attention, he looks over at me with a slightly puzzled but not unfriendly look on his face. I tell him I want to challenge him to a race, he seems to think I am joking, but I say no, I am completely serious… I want to challenge him to a race. He finally sees that I am serious, so he accepts my challenge. So we get a map of the area, agree on a race course, agree that there is no actual prize for winning the race since it is just a friendly challenge, and we get set up at the starting line. There is a gunshot, and the race begins!

As the starting gun fires, Sonic launches off the starting line like a rocket, immediately taking a lead. I am using an archetype from Alex Mercer on the Prototype game (no, there were no claws or blades involved), using the fact he can run extremely fast. So I take off after Sonic, speeding up to very high speeds. The course is going down a regular street, there are cars parked along it, which I just jump over as I come to them, the speed I am running at makes that very easy to do. Up ahead I see there is a building in the way, one course goes the long way around the building, but I see that the short way would be to go over the building. Since I am using Alex Mercer as an archetype, I run right up the side of the building, over the top of it, and drop down on the other side. That turns out to be a decent shortcut, and now I can see Sonic up ahead again, or at least I can see his dust cloud… I focus on speeding up even more, but I find myself almost flying without even meaning to, and I have to re-focus on making sure I am still running and not flying. Up ahead is a tall building with a path that spirals up inside it, it leads to the pathways in the air. Sonic runs up inside, I run up the building side, and I am able to jump onto the path right behind Sonic. He looks back and sees me, gives me a small smile, then takes off again… We are now running along the paths in the sky, both of us are jumping over the transport pods that are moving along it. I am going as fast as I can, and even though I am dreaming, I remember why I hate running… but at least I'm not losing ground… Sonic jumps off of the paths to a hill not far off to the right, I follow him, and now we are running through a forest.

I see Sonic turn off to the right, but the finish line is straight ahead… so why not go in a straight line? I come face-to-face with the reason, there is a tall cliff blocking my way… well, I have no choice but to run up it ala Alex Mercer… I am able to do that for a ways, then there is an outcropping hanging out over me… Even Alex can't run upside down… so I find hand holds to make my way back out to the vertical part, but I am losing a lot of time here. With some more painfully slow climbing and then a bit more running vertically, or nearly vertically, I am at the top of the cliff. Sonic is coming from my right, moving at top speed. The finish line is up ahead, so it is down to a final sprint. Both of us are giving it all we got, I am thinking I might pass out before crossing the finish line… I'm used to flying fast… or teleporting… anything but running… Sonic and I cross the finish line at almost the exact same time. There is a judge at the finish line, who somehow saw us clearly enough to announce I beat Sonic by seven tenths of a second.

I jump in the air, happy I won, and I face plant right at the feet of Tails, who had been following along and rooting for Sonic. He looks down at me and asks if I am ok… I say I am, and I get to my tired feet… but my legs don't want to support me, I think they have decided to shut down. So I sit down. Sonic comes over and congratulates me on winning, he says he can run up paths that are nearly vertical, but he has never seen someone run up a completely vertical surface. I tell him I learned it from Alex Mercer, I say that without even thinking about the fact Sonic wouldn't have a clue who Alex Mercer is… I tell him he sure ran a good race, if it had been much longer, I think I would have run out of steam. Sonic says he wants to meet this Alex Mercer, running up vertical surfaces would be very useful at times. I say no, he doesn't want to meet Alex Mercer… I got that ability from Alex, but beyond that he is rather psychotic and tends to slice people in half as quick as look at them. Sonic looks quite shocked at that, but before he can say anything else, I wake up.

    12. The Physics of Dreaming (2009)

      by , 01-04-2011 at 01:05 AM
(An exerpt from some day mid 2009)

I was walking down a street at night time; it reminded me of an American suburb, which was glowing orange illuminated by the street lights. As I was casually walking looking around, I noticed a big pile of earth in the middle of one of the gardens part of what seemed to be a small excavation site. For whatever reason I became curious and I decided to go over and investigate. As I aproached, I noticed that there was something written in the pile of earth, as if someone had stuck their finger in the mud and scraped letters out.

Now, writing is one of my strongest dream triggers at the minute, so it's no surprise, to me anyway, that at this point I became fully lucid. I attempted to read the writing and without waking up (which I normally do), I succesfully found that it said "REFLECTION." I couldn't believe that I actually read an English word instead of staring at some jumbled up mix of letters and numbers. That was it; at this point now I have almost full conciousness and full awareness of my dream state. I instantly decided to go see what a reflection looks like in a dream, so I aproached one of the bay windows of a near by house and in the illumination of the street lights, I could see my self standing there. I waved and even said to my self "I can't believe the laws of physics are the same in a dream as they are in the real world!" That's how realistic this looked.

As I was standing there staring at my self, I heard music begin to play. So with the state of mind I was in, I decided to now investigate the music and see if the dream could replicate music from the real world correctly. I followed, and it was coming from the garage next door to the house I was standing out side of. As I walked in, I could see a small cassette player on the floor and playing was Future Shock (Blutonium Boy Mix), a track I have been listening to quite a lot lately. The warm up was identical, surprisingly identical, so I continued to listen to the music and as the tune began to kick off, out spurted a whole random mix of beeps, buzzes and other garbled sounds. At that point, the dream became too unstable and I woke up, which was dissapointing, as I would have liked to spend more time listening to the noises (if you could call it music).

    13. Pre-Apocalypse

      by , 01-04-2011 at 12:01 AM (Hazel's Boiler Room)
Wow, last one, and the first one of this year. That went pretty quickly. (I didn't realize that I already had half of them typed up in various places.)

      1/1/11

((Note: Each time I woke up, I unintentionally re-entered the same dream.))

      1- Supernatural Part I
Something strange is going on with aliens. They are having a weird effect on blond people, causing them to have superhuman powers and giving them visions of the future. My mind instantly goes to a certain blond, the blondist person I've ever seen... I worry what effect this must be having on her, but I don't have time to search. My cousins have been affected as well; I am busy trying to interpret their prophecies and writing a note about the crazyness to my friend.

      2- Supernatural Part II
A violent storm breaks out, another result of the incoming alien-induced apocalypse. I run to the front door, where my mother is watching in horror as a thick black cloud begins spawning tornadoes left and right. Instantly becoming lucid, I assure her, "Don't worry, it's just a dream." I hold out my hand and dispel each tornado as it comes my way. Very draining...

      3- Supernatural Part IV
I have a vision of my own (even though I'm not blond ). In the vision, I see an army of angels transform before my eyes into a legion of demons. A voice declares that the Christians are following a lie, that the Legions of God are demons damned for eternity, that a destroyer shall come and end the great deceit. It also mentions a child, saying "her actions will be the catalyst."

      10/22/10

      1- Conspiracy
I am walking around the karate place, which seems to have been expanded into a store. For some reason, headphones are blaring Within Temptation songs into my ears. I think it's rude to wear headphones in public, so I'm trying to figure out why I'm doing so. Suddenly a man taps me on the shoulders. I take the headphones off, but I still hear the music (I have it playing in real life.) I struggle to hear his question.

"Can you show me where the flats are?" he asks. As if I work here... and what the heck are flats?

I look to the front desk, where Anna (the receptionist/secretary) is standing. Pointing to her, I say, "Anna would know better than I would." He walks off.

I see my Papa leading my brother into a long hallway with many doors. Curious, I secretly follow them. They stop in a room at the end of the hallway, but I can't get close enough to see without being noticed.

When I leave the hallway, I am now in my house. I find a hole in the wall that allows me to see into the room where my brother is. He is in a room with a bunch of sickly old men, all of whom are sleeping in recliners. Weird...

*lapse in memory, but I get knocked out somehow*

"Waking up" in my bed, I am determined to find out what is going on. I had overheard Papa telling my brother something rather disturbing, but it hadn't made sense. Apparently I had been attacked... but I'm having problems recollecting the situation.

I leave my room and ask my mom what's going on. She is evasive. My brother gives me a look and says, "I'll tell you later."

My mom suddenly gets angry and says,"There is nothing secret in this house!"

But there is. A winged bringer of death has been going around killing people, and I KNOW that it involves that secret hallway somehow.

There is a cut scene of my dream father getting attacked by this thing. I fear he is dead, but when I reach him, he spits up water and sits up. Alive. We find out that the death-bringer is someone that we had trusted, who had clearly betrayed us.

This man begins attacking us. Realizing I'm dreaming, I tell my dad to run. I can handle this.

He is easy enough to fight, especially using my awesome karate moves. Maybe this will help me get better in real life... But he calls reinforcements: several zombies, a goat demon, and some other creatures. I run inside and use the screen door as both a shield and a weapon, ramming it into the zombies and then kicking them down the porch steps. After I beat the final zombie off the porch, the goat demon exclaims, "You killed her!"

      "Uh, she's a zombie."

He breaks into the house, so I run out, taking my chances with the other creatures. I fight them for a few minutes, but then a strange man wearing a backpack says he's going to open his pack, revealing "the truth." One of my allies tells me to run, so I take the advice. I don't get very far, however, before I feel someone grab ahold of my back. "Let go!" I shout. Then I realize The Truth. No longer am I running; instead, I'm GROWING out of the strange man's back, and I suddenly have spider-like legs coming out of my body.

I let out a bloodcurdling scream (even though I know I'm dreaming)
and I end up having another false awakening.

This time I'm in a hospital, and the strange backpack man is standing over me with a video camera. "How would you like to be in my new reality show?" he asks me playfully.

I scowl at him. "I'd hate it. Almost as much as I hate you."

"Now, now, I'm sure you don't mean that." I hear a threat in his words. If I don't do what he says, I'll be growing out of his back again... The thought is not pleasant.

"Fine! What do you want me to do?"

He makes a fool out of me, telling me to do all sorts of stupid and random things, like making silly faces at the camera. I am furious, but I have no choice but to comply.
