    1. Interesting dream...2/3 weeks ago

      by , 11-21-2010 at 02:48 PM
I am walking around the town where I live with my friends. Everything is exactly where it should be; I walked the same route home from the bus stop the day after the dream. It seemed that not even a tree or a house was out of place. But anyway, I was walking to the shops to get soembody a birthday present...i have no idea who that person is, but it was definately someone important; it was imperitive that I get the gift otherwise they'd get pissed off.

I entered Tesco, and the shelves were stacked full of various amounts of things that would make a good gift; chocolates, flowers and assorted bottles of expensive looking alcohol. I think the person was probably female. In retrospect I think it was probably my mum as I it wasn't my girlfriend (she works in Tesco and was therefore in the dream); it also wasn't my sister as I never buy her presents

Before entering the shop my girlfriend comes out and hands me a small-ish suitcase. There is an urgent look on her face. She says something to the effect of 'get out of here you dozy pillock'. This causes me to think that the suitcase might contain somethng valuable.

The next thing I know I'm in Tesco's and I'm looking at the various, assorted bottles of wine. My friend is standing beside me moaning about how long I'm taking. The other two friends who I came to the shop with have inexplicably disappeared.

I somehow arrive outside again. The suitcase is lying underneath the back bumper of someones car right outside the shop. I walk over to check if the seemingly valuable cargo has been damaged in any way. It hasn't been. I decide to open it (although I wans't told not to I feel that I shouldn't). There are three bottles of whiskey inside, held in place by a sort of purple velvetine covering. It certainly didn't look valuable. I thought these would make a good gift.

As I look up away from the case, all of my friends have now disappeared. I begin to walk away from the shop. As I walk I feel that something is approachin in the darkness behind me. I feel that it is not something threatening, rather it is something that I'd rather wait until later to deal with.

I begin to run, I start to run as fast as I can. I begin to pick up immense speeds, leaping and jumping over cars with my fantastically enhanced momentum. Every time that I feel that this speed is becoming harder and harder to maintain, I always find something within me that allows me to go that extra bit faster. I come out of the part of the town that is full of main roads and enter quieter suburban roads and eventually small pedestrian walkways that connect blocks of flats and small groups of houses and public gardens. Nothing is instantly recognisable as it was before. In spite of this, everything is crystal-clear and it all slightly resembles places in my town, although they weren't actual places in my town like they were on my journey to the shops.

The suitcase had disappeared at some point, I'm not quite sure when, but i suspect it was when I began to pick up speed. I then woke up gradually as the world around me began to fade, again, i cannot recall exactly when this was and it didn't feel strange when it did.

The whole experience felt super-real and seemed to connect with a recurring characteristic of my recent dreams that it was a hugely long and drawn-out narrative that always takes twists and turns. This isn't such a good example of that as it was really at the start of this period of enormous dreams that i currently find myself in. If anyone would like to share their views on what they thinnk this all means I would love to hear from you

(Good morning, everybody. I remember one dream from last night.

The character in my dream definitely looks like a person I know from waking life. I don't know him personally, but he goes to certain art events I also attend, including one last night.

He's not at all like the person in the dream. He's really cool and insightful. So I don't know why I dreamt of him being this way.)

      Dream #1

I sat at an anime fest, in a place like a basketball arena. It was like everybody who had come to attend the festival were sitting in bleachers, looking down to a stage-like area that would be where the basketball court was. The seating section, as big as in any pro basketball arena, was completely packed.

I sat near the front row. The row I sat in had a big, wooden bannister before it, which kind of reminds me of the front railing in the public area in a court room, or of the balcony area where the public sits during government sessions in capitols.

The area where the basketball court would be was full, probably with artists' booths. But the festival patrons weren't going down there.

We were all watching some presentation given to us by some white man who was apparently a manga artist. The man may have been tall, a little overweight, balding, with red-brown hair, and red-tan skin. He may have been wearing a kind of old, green sweatshirt and blue jeans.

When the man's presentation was finished, the man announced that we could all come down to his booth. He had a black binder full of his manga art, and he informed us that we could each choose our favorite female manga character out of the binder and take the page for free. He might also have said he would sign the page.

An overweight, black man about my age, with thick glasses and wearing a dark blue sweatshirt, sat to my left. He said, probably to me, in a joking-confiding way, "Well, everybody who's in line behind me better get ready to wait a long time. Cause I'm gonna take my time going through that book until I find my favorite anime girl."

Some announcer called each person down by name. They called the man. Right after that, they called me. I stood behind the man as he slowly flipped through the pages of the binder.

The binder was huge, full of pages. The pages were probably all in individual plastic sleeves. The art looked very pencil-y but very professional. Some of the art was in grey pencil. Some was in blue pencil.

The man pulled something out of his pocket that looked like a cell-phone-sized laptop. He checked the time, put the device back in his pocket, and went back to leafing slowly through the pages.

I was trying really hard to think to myself who my favorite manga character was. All I could come up with was Jasmine from Disney's Aladdin. I thought I should be able to come up with a character better than that. But I figured that maybe Jasmine from Aladdin really was my favorite manga character.

The man had flipped all the way to the end of the binder. Then, saying out loud that he didn't see a manga girl he liked yet, he began flipping backward through the binder.

As I watched the man flip through the pages of the binder, I saw a number of drawings of Jasmine. I figured I'd be happy with just about any of those drawings. Seeing all these Jasmine drawings, I was starting to get impatient with the man. I could have had a perfectly fine picture and been gone by now. But this man wouldn't stop taking his turn!

The man pulled his "phone" back out of his pocket and looked at the time again. The phone indicated that he'd been flipping through the book for 20 or 22 minutes by now. (The phone may not have been showing the time. It may actually been timing the man as he flipped through the pages.)

The man nodded approval at the time, put his phone back in his pocket, and began flipping slowly through the binder again. He may have gone all the way backward through the binder and started flipping forward again.
    3. November 19th - November 20th 2010 - Fragments 1

      by , 11-21-2010 at 10:46 AM (Shinoda's Dream Journal)
Alright, I only have fragments of this one since I woke up, wrote down notes and went back to sleep. When I woke up again, I had forgotten the dream and all I have is the notes to go by... I remember the dream was a long one and everything in the notes are part of the same dream.

      I was in a mall.
There was a dog that bite me and held on to my right arm. I was tossing him around and it didn't hurt. (Kinda as if I was wearing one of those dog trainer suits)

I was walking home and a guy with glasses in a car stooped by to talk to me, I think he was a family member (False Memory). He had a bobblehead of HIMSELF in the car.

A guy that lived in his truck (I don't recall ANYTHING about that but it's in my notes)

There was a guy I was arguing with for something I can't recall. He used a projector showing DreamViews to prove a point that I didn't catch on (I bet he was trying to make me lucid and I was too dumb for it to click).

There were weird elevators. (Even if it's not in my previous entries, I know I had multiple dreams in the past with odd elevators. I might be discovering a dreamsign here)

Dream sex.... Horrible!.......then something about flying around this warehouse. I wasn't lucid, but I was having fun with it. Then a couple of my cousins had gathered around this plate that had different blunts from all over the world, and we were going to smoke them.

    5. Efficacy (1/16/2010)

      by , 11-21-2010 at 04:30 AM (Zukin's Dream Journal! <3)
I like to post some of my favorite dreams here, so I decided why not post this one! This is one of my old all-time favorites. :-)

"So this is where you live, little traveler?" Said the man I was with. I was a little embarrassed, but I answered yes. We stood in an empty parking lot. In the middle was a trailer fit for 15+ people.

"I need to run in and grab a shirt," I said. I walked in the small trailer. Scattered around were other T-shirts of my comrades, some passed some still alive. I found mine in one of the many shower stalls (the trailer was really just a large bathroom). I decided to take a quick shower while he waited.

I was bonding with this stranger fast.

The next day I was visiting the city with the man. The city was crowded and seemed like it was from eastern Europe. My phone rang, and I was quickly called into war. With reluctance I said good bye to my new friend as I ran to the shores of the city.

We were to fight this on the beach. The beach had deep blond sand, and beautiful ocean water lapped its shores. We were to take our places before the enemy came. I sat behind a large rock.

We didn't know if the enemy would be coming from the east or from the west. I scanned each horizon carefully. On a large mountain I saw dust rising up, and the sounds of thousands of heavy footsteps echoed in my ears.

I called out their position, and my troop readied itself. I was still safe behind my large rock. My friend crawled up to me and started talking. I told her she needed to take cover with me or else she would be killed. I shuddered when I imagined her dead body.

The fighting started and weapons whizzed through the air, exploding on contact.

During the war, a girl I don't know crawled up to me and started singing a lyrical remix of a song like 'I will Survive' but added to it things about peace and anti-war. She looked drugged.

"Damn woman has lost her mind!" Someone said from behind the crazy lady. She had brown straight hair, and shot her gun at the crazy lady. I was a little disappointed in this, I kind of like crazy people.

The war was nearing the end and I took a look on the battle field. Dead bodies were strewn across the innocent beach staining the sand to shades of red.

As if the war wasn't enough, I heard screams coming from the city. I ran to the city to see people running in every direction. What were they running from?

I quickly found out. There were policemen blocking off certain streets or escape ways, and they were not the 'good' policemen.

I ran with the people for a few minutes when I realized that I did not know where my new acquaintance was! Was he dead or alive?

I ascended a flight of black metal stairs with a group of other people. The mesh stairs led to a dark tunnel where we were momentarily trapped.

In the tunnel was a railroad track. A small single car train was passing through. As it came to the end of the tunnel it slowed to a halt. There was somebody in the train car bending the metal slowly...Suddenly, gun fire filled the scene as the man broke free of the restraints of the train. He was the Anti-Christ.

I was pretty pissed off now, hadn't I put him in his place last time? I followed the little bastard to a school. It wasn't hard; he reeked with negative energy. He immediately broke out into fight with the teachers, killing and acting with violence towards anyone who got in his way.

I had some back up. He looked a little older than me and had short pale blond hair with a gray hoodie on. I attacked the Anti but he retaliated and pushed me onto the floor.

He did NOT just push me into the floor! I ran into the classroom and hid behind the door. Inside the classroom was a lone teacher hiding under the desk. I picked up one of the metal desks and waited behind the door.

My partner in crime opened the door, and I almost hit him with the desk! He got the clue, and went back into the hallway where the massacre was taking place. The Anti was next to open the door to the classroom, and I wasted no time in bashing the desk into his brains. He fell to the ground, but I wasn't going to believe him to be dead yet.

I hit him one more time with the desk, and took out a knife. I pushed the knife into his stomach until blood gushed out. I separated ribs from each other and slit the throat while continuing to dismember the body. With a final blow, I shoved the knife into his heart.

I began picking up the body parts, and putting the chunks into a small jar.

My phone rang. At first I feared that it would be the Anti about to threaten me, but when I answered the phone I discovered that a friend that I barely knew was calling me. I knew him from online, and we rarely ever talked.

      "You ok?" He said.

"No? Do you THINK I'm ok?" I said through tears and frustration. He said something else, then hung up on me. I raced home with the remains.

I frantically plugged in the hot glue gun. I kept seeing bright, completely blinding, flashes of light. With each flash of light came a moment of total confusion until I could regain the sense of where I was. I had little time to finish this up.

I glued together the seals of the jar. I would not let what happened last time happen again. I wrote in heavy ink, "DO NOT OPEN."

I left the jar in a lonely place undiscovered.

So, in short, i was fighting a bad man and got so mad that i hit him over the head with a desk then stabbed him about 37 times, dismembered his body and then put the chunks of him in a jar and super glued it shut. I'm totally sane.

This one I can't remember well, but I do remember I was taken by another family from my parents. But by the end, I was somehow sent back to my parents and when I saw my dad, I jumped up and hugged him.

I also remember in the middle of the night having a dream where at the end of it I hugged someone, so I leaning forward. Then I woke up and found myself sitting up in bed
    8. 11/18/2010 - "The Not-So-Old West", "The Good, the Bad, and the Under-Age"

      Dream One:
      "The Not-So-Old West"

I was at a school, or in some other similar building, during major function/convention/assembly type of thing. It was a modern building, but the assembly had a Wild West theme to it. There were a lot of people around, and I remember being both inside and outside, but none of the transitions between the two. At one point, I was supposed to be cooking some of the food, but someone ended up dropping the ladle into the fire and burning it. Everyone thought it was me, and I was getting ridiculed about how I couldn't handle the food anymore. I knew that it was some other woman that had dropped the spoon, a manager or something, but she was playing it off - rather well, actually - and I couldn't prove it.

Of course, as is to be expected, a battle broke out, seemingly from nowhere. The gathering was outside at this point, and a pack of dogs/wolves were sent onto the premises, along with the opposing forces - though I can't remember who we were battling. The western atmosphere quickly turned from a simple theme to an actual, old west gunfight. The dogs flushed people out, everyone scattering around while the guns blazed. Soon out of bullets, I picked up a knife and held it at the ready, waiting for the dogs to converge on me, but they never did.

Later, the group and I were back inside the building, but I was in a "secret" section, which was something of a police department. There were people dressed in civilian clothing, cops in riot gear, and a few others and I were dressed in all black, like ninjas. Apparently we were a part of some mysterious tactical squad. There was a meeting going on, and some kids and somehow wandered into the hallway outside of the room we were meeting in. They kept trying to creep in the door and see what was going on, but I kept shoving them out wedging my foot up against it. Eventually, they found a window into the room and slipped in. By this time, everyone was sick of them, so a few of the cops intervened. Having not known the cops were going to get upset with them, the kids were now terrified that they were going to be in a lot of trouble.

      Dream (Frag) Two:
All I remember, here, is being at a water park. Don't really remember anything that went on.

      Dream Three:
"The Good, the Bad, and the Under-Age"

Was back in the western theme. It was more of a modern/outback kind of feel - where you could tell it was modern times, because of the technology, but most people were still wearing old western clothes. I was much younger, in this dream - maybe around 13ish, and was attending some kind of class, and the speaker was a reknowned female gunslinger, who was something of a vigilante and considered, by some, to be an outlaw. (She reminded me a lot of Sharon Stone, in The Quick and the Dead.) To us kids, though, she was a hero. I believe the lesson was a sort of safety class, where she was talking about the latest bad guy on the scene. He was a shape-shifter, who could sometimes just sort of "materialize," out of thin air, sometimes.

During her lesson, though, the inevitable happened. I heard a digital noise that sounded kind of like a Transformer transforming. At the front of the class, a bunch of various black shapes sprinkled into view and attracted themselves to one another, quickly forming a humanoid shape. The mass then morphed one last time, creating the finishing touches on a full-grown man. There was an immediate reaction of panic, throughout the classroom. We knew, exactly who it was. In that same instant, without wasting any words. The villain drew his guns and began firing into the rows of students. Chaos ensued. The children, myself included, scrambled for the exit, a number of them being blasted from behind, while what had to have been large-caliber rounds, judging by the impacts they made. It all happened so fast. I don't even remember what happened with the gunslinger woman, at this time. I just remember scrambling out the door, along with a mass of my fellow students.

Later, we had gotten back in touch with the 'outlaw.' She had decided that she was going to go looking for the villain, and that she had to put an end to all of this. Still an early teenager, I - along with a girl around my age - insisted on going to help her. At first, she refused, but we absolutely would not take 'no' for an answer. Eventually, she gave in - or so we thought - and she handed us two, matching rifles. We were walking through a large park area, supposedly on the hunt for information, as to where the murderer was hiding. Whatever the case, though, it turned out that he was the one to find us. Again, he just sort of materialized, out of nowhere. I don't even remember him showing up, this time. He was just...there. Before I had time to even react, the older man grabbed my rifle and ripped it out of my hands, quickly spinning it around and aiming it back at my face. Instinctively, I reached out and grabbed the barrel, trying to wrestle it away from him. I was able to turn to where my back was facing him, and pulling the gun forward, over my shoulder. He was just too strong for me, though, and would not let go. Instead, he began pulling the barrel downward, twisting it toward the front of my body. I went from trying to pull the gun from him, to trying to keep the barrel from swinging down toward my crotch, which it was steadily approaching. I was no match for the older man, though. Anxiety shot through me, at the point where I knew I was not going to be able to stay out of the line of fire. I braced myself to be shot, still straining to keep him from shooting me in the groin.

The gun went off twice, but there was no loud report, or searing burn from a riffle bullet. It was a pellet gun. Nothing more. I can only assume that she gave us kids pellet guns because she had no intention of letting us get caught up in the fight. But, seeing as how the bad guy found us, we didn't have much of a choice. While he his attention on me, the 'outlaw' got the drop on him, blind-siding him and taking him to the ground. She stood over him with her shotgun, blasting away mercilessly and the downed assailant. Pellet guns or not, the two of us kids joined in with her, emptying whatever ammo we had, amongst the deafening sound of her shells. Soon, it was over, and we were walking back toward the car, to make our escape, knowing the cops would be on us, in no time. Inevitably, they showed up, just as we were reaching the parking lot. Before they had a chance to see our weapons, we hid them behind a tree, trying to play it cool while we walked toward the cops and our getaway car. (Funny that we - or at least she; I can't remember - were still wearing wild western wear, and we were going toward a car. Lol.)

The cops intercepted us, and there was this really pissed off Sheriff, who had apparently been hunting the outlaw for a while, now. They had already been tipped off about there having been a gunfight, here in the park, and were here to investigate. The Sheriff seemed certain that the outlaw was up to something, and started grilling us about where we'd just been. We tried to play innocent, and the woman made up some story about what we'd been doing. It was rather slick, and it seemed that he was just about to buy it. But, absurdly, the girl beside me, an avid fan of the gunslinger woman, whispers to me over to me. She says something about how even though the gunslinger 'was a murderer, she was good, and knew how to cover her ass'. She was so starstruck that she said it just loud enough for everyone in the group to hear - including the Sheriff. We all, simultaneously, turned to the girl with a collective stare of "WTF??" I remember kicking her in the shin as if to say "shut up!" The Sheriff just grinned. He leaned in close, glaring at all of us, and called out and order for his men to search the area. He knew something was up.

They ended up finding the body of the villain, and taking the woman away for murder. They told us (the kids) that we had another year before we had to worry about receiving our punishment for our involvement. By this time, there was a crowd that had gathered in the park, watching the situation unfold. Apparently the outlaw had a lot of fans because, as they were taking her away, there were many people crying and pleading for her to be set free - myself included. I remember telling about how I'd seen the villain killing a room full of kids, with my own eyes, and that the woman was just doin the right thing. The police weren't hearing it, though, carrying her toward the vans. In the crowd, I remember hearing someone whisper "Look. She's...crying" (talking about the lady gunslinger). It was just a sad moment, all around, watching her getting hauled away. We were all heartbroken.

      That's all I remember.

    9. Dryspell broken! Record amount of dreams

by , 11-20-2010 at 07:45 PM (Nom nom nom, Mmmattelicious...)
      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID FALSE AWAKENING

Good morning! Haven't posted any dreams for like a week. It's because I haven't had any. But that changed this morning! Got my "Lucid Dreamer" pills during the week, and I decided to try one out during a WBTB this morning. It was amazing! I had a total of 13 dreams (including 4 fragments). Here's what I dreamt:

      11.30: Bedtime

      5.15: 40 minutes WBTB, 4 mg Galantamine + 200 mg Choline

6.30: Shelf in the middle of the road
I'm looking up at this huge computer table, shelf thingy. It's standing in the middle of the road, next to a huge crane. I can tell it's broken and I decide to climb it and fix it. It takes a very long time to fix it and I almost fall a couple of times. When I'm done, a large truck appears. It slams into the sidewalk and it stops. The guys on the truck inspects the concrete cargo for a few seconds, then drive off again.

      6.30: Work
Björn is playing with the sand. He lets this basket filled with it, pour it on him. He laugh as he's being half buried. I run up to it when he's done and hold on to the bag attached to it. Ofcourse the bag breaks. Peter is there aswell. "There is no more work to be done anywhere!" he exclaims.

      6.30: Eric's got a shabby house
I'm at my friend Eric's house. It looks kinda weird, with two new really shabby sofas. There's dirt and shit in them, and I see two people I don't recognise. My shoes are gone and I search the house for them. I find one of them, but the other one is totally gone. G's cat "Smulan" walks up to me and I scratch her some. After a while of searching I finally find the last shoe, and the shoelace has been stolen by some other cats. I take it back and leave.

      6.30: The FA MILD
I'm sitting at a table at work, and my boss is next to me. He's impersonating some kind of chipmunk or something and is making this weird sucking sound while sticking his teeth out. "Damn his front teeth are crooked" I think and give him a big fake smile. I repeat what he just did and for some reason, I start to question my surroundings. "Then... This must be a dream!" I say. Everything starts to fade right away. "No no no! Gotta focus" I tell myself and can only see the silhouette of him. I hold this image for a few seconds before everything goes grey/black.

I can't make out anything but grey and black patterns. I start to feel my arms and hands, and they're twisting. Like I'm having muscle spasms. It feels very uncomfortable but I recognise the feeling. I know I've felt this before, and I also know it's just a trick by my mind. I lie completely still and try to get back into the dream. I give up and decide to wake up. "Why do you have to sleep on my spot next to the wall?" Monica asks me. I can tell I've rolled over in my sleep. "Sorry babe" I say and we get up and go towards the bathroom. We talk some while Monica's taking a piss. I wake up for real.

      7.40: Doppelganger
I'm walking through the newly built mall in my home town. Monica is with me and we spot a nice looking restaurant and enter. It's some kind of pizza place, only alot more expensive. Suddenly I get a phonecall from someone. It's someone who sounds just like me, and claims to be me. I also get this large envelope from somewhere. I open it and find a large map of town. I can see the roads have been painted either red, orange or grey. Apparently this is where I've been driving too fast with my dad's car. I look at it for a while and I get really angry. "Wtf is this shit? I haven't even driven that car in months" Suddenly someone's banging the glass. I look up and see myself holding a phone. "Is that you?" I ask. He tells me it is. I walk up to the glass and hold the map so he can see it. "See this? What is this?" Some other people are with the other me. And all of them has a strange feeling about them.

      7.40: Fragment
*My brother Morgan has been sleeping in my bed instead of Monica. I think we just had a LAN or something...

      9.30: Party Movie
I'm watching a movie my brother has compiled. It's different kinds of clips from all the parties he and his friends have had. There is some really crazy shit on there. One of his friends are dry humping everyone and there is a long haired guy I recognise. "Hey, what happened to that guy?" I ask. Martin tells me something I can't remember. We continue watching the movie. I spot the long haired guy again, and once again I recognise him. I ask Martin who he is once more, but again I don't get a decent answer.

      9.30: Babysitting a haunted girl
I'm on a bus in the middle of nowhere, going to this local pub. The text-light is broken and I have no idea where I am since it's so dark outside. I spot a guy playing a Monopoly game on his laptop. It's about skyscrapers instead of normal buildings. I get off the bus, and the dream changes. I'm now standing outside of this old school house in the middle of the country. Apparently I'm this kind of babysitter for a small girl who's around ten years old. The whole dream is really fucked up, and I'm kind of watching a movie again. A ghost is throwing shit around her room and scares the crap out of the little girl. I see some kind of black, child like shadow position itself over the girl, and morphs itself with her.

      9.30: Boat trouble
I'm on a boat with Monica and my brother Martin. We're fishing and Monica catches a nice fish. It's very sunny and hot out, and we're just having a good time. My dad has left the boat recently to get some stuff in town. Martin gets a call from him and he tells us we have to wait there for a few weeks. "Hell no. I ain't waiting for a few weeks" I say and we all decide to get out of there on our own. Two other boats go past us and the people on them wave. We go through the narrow gap they came from, and Martin must be drunk or something. He sucks at steering and even though you have to be on the left side of small white sticks sticking up from the water. He just runs over them. "Watch it! They tell us where it's too shallow!" I yell at him. Suddenly we run over some rocks. A large scratch is made in the boat, and some water is coming in. Luckily not enough for it to sink. We continue on down the canal and suddenly it stops. We slide up on land a few meters. I bring out a map and notice that we've been going the wrong way. There's nothing but desert this way.

      11.00: Foursome
I'm with two other girls and we're about to have a foursome with a fourth person in the next room. I feel like I need to take a piss and I tell them to wait for me while walking into the bathroom. The toilet is totally clogged up, and there's a towel in there. I decide to take a piss outside instead. "Don't worry, the house is just twenty years old, who cares right?" they say from inside the house. It's raining hard outside and I stand just outside of the door. I pee against the wall and put my leg up so my penis remains hidden from people at the other house. Luckily there is no one there. Unluckily, I don't get laid...

      11.00: Fragments
*A black guy is going to have sex with a girl. His penis is like 70 cm tall. She sits down on it and goes to town!

*I'm watching a "Guardian" getting killed by a "Fade" (Wheel of Times character). He's being hold by his throat and I'm wondering why he just don't stab it in the eye sockets.

*Monica buys more roses for herself.

      Amount of sleep: 11 hours

      Food before bed: 2 x Omega-3
WBTB food: 1 x Lucid Dreamer (4 mg Galantamine + 200 mg Choline)

That's it! Was a very cool night, with alot of dreams. Broke my previous record of 9 dreams, with 4 more! I even had 3-4 dreams which I didn't recall. I got a memory of telling myself I had 3 more short lucids, but I didn't write them down, so I forgot them when I had a few more dreams... Galantamine + Choline seems to be enhancing dream recall ALOT. And I will try it a few more times before saying anything about the lucidity they give.

      Keep on dreaming, HARE BRA!

      Moving
We decide to move to a smaller house near the mall. It has four bedrooms, and the one that I choose has two electric pianos. For this reason, I fall madly in love with the house.
We spend the day moving things from the old house to the new one, though the only things I really notice in my room are my xbox, a mattress (with no actual bed, it's just on the floor) and the pianos. I go around telling everyone how I've moved and how much I love the new house.

      Scary Dog
There's some dog following me around trying to bite me. I end up hitting it a lot and then I kind of feel bad.

      Water in the Living Room
I have some people over (though it's at my old house...my house IRL) and we're discussing something. I'm lying on the floor wearing only a blanket, and I'm underwater. There is some confusion as I'm half in my living room, and then half on a beach, which would make sense about the water. But when I stand up, I'm back in the living room and I can hear the water seeping through the floor into the basement. My friends tell me they're tired and they want me to drive them home.

    11. (11/20/10) - Recall improving...but for strange dreams

      by , 11-20-2010 at 05:32 PM (LiveInTheDream's DJ v2.5)
So I've been heavily reality checking for a full day now, and I don't intend to stop yet. I've got a 'totem' (go see Inception if you don't know what it is) that I use to remind me to reality check and to provide another physical check for me as well, and I feel confident that it will work for getting me back into DILDs. But of course, in order for this to get into my dreams, it has to be a habit of mine, and habits take time to form, so last night I didn't go lucid, but I did notice myself observing my environment a bit more carefully in general, which is a start.

Dream 1: I was crouched in the mud with a full camo suit on. The air around me was dusty and the sky was a dim gray. No plant life grew anywhere. Everything about the place had 'Death' written all over it. After a short while, Scions began to approach with a couple of husks just a few steps behind. There was a gun in my hand, so I pulled the trigger. Turned out the weapon was fairly weak, but it had a very high rate of fire, so although it did little damage to the oncoming zombies, it was effective to tear apart their weak, dead flesh until they simply couldn't function anymore.

Suddenly I noticed two others, one to my left and one to my right, who were also shooting down the zombies. Rather than go lucid, my mind explained all this away by telling me that I was playing a video game, and these two others had just joined in. I wasn't fully convinced, and for sure, there was just something that didn't feel right about this explanation, but I didn't really have time to stop and think about it, so in the end I never caught wind of what was really going on.

Dream 2: This time I was engaging in something much more normal: a Skype conversation. And I was actually sitting at a computer rather than physically acting it out, too. I was only in a text chat, but I was talking and listening like it was an audio chat. Eventually, in a dream-daze, I wandered away from the computer and still I could talk even though I wasn't wearing a headset or anything like that. I never went lucid, but I did start to think that that was a bit odd, not to mention the person I was talking to was acting nothing like they do IRL.

Dream 3: Now I was at some social gathering, and a quick glance at my watch told me it was 7:00pm. I should have caught on to the fact that in the dream, one of the watch buttons that broke IRL was still there, but of course I didn't . Everyone that I know IRL was at the party, including those who I don't know personally, but whose faces I see regularly and would recognize. And then of course there were a few people there that were just complete fabrications of my mind.

Although the remembered details of what I did there are few, I do know that there were tons of other things throughout the night that I should have recognized in this one. For example, I quite clearly recall walking into a school building, but I walked out of a barn later on that night. Everyone talked about how good the food was, but I don't recall ever eating anything. And then the best part was when I tried to leave a couple hours later. False memory told me I had parked the car in one place, but it was simply not there (and of course false memory also told me I had driven there, even though I never did). There were about five parking lots to look through, though, so rather than reality check I just started looking through the different lots.

As I walked from one lot to another, I looked down at my watch and saw it was now 9:41pm. I had tried to leave at 9, so I'd been looking for my car for 41 minutes. I thought maybe I should just give someone a call and take a ride home, but I knew that wouldn't solve my problem, so I just kept on looking. However, I got stopped by a guy in a wheelchair that wanted to introduce himself. I didn't want to be rude, so I talked with him a couple minutes (during which time I looked away for a moment, and when I looked back, he was no longer crippled, and the wheelchair was nowhere in sight, not to mention it was suddenly daytime when it was night only a few moments ago). This guy was one of those complete fabrications of my mind, but the visual realism was amazing; easily as good as my memories of real people, if not better.

When I had finished talking to this guy I walked off to continue to look for my car, but instead I woke up.

Interesting to me how that last dream ended. Since this guy was my subconscious, maybe he began crippled because I was in SP, but then as I began to wake up, the SP was removed, and light began to register in my eyes, causing those other particular effects in the dream world.

Hopefully I'll pick up on these things better as time goes on. It is my goal to keep on doing these RC's every day and have a lucid dream by this day next week. Wish me luck!

In which my husband and my fear of time paradox interrupt my date with Tom Waits...

I’m standing on a street corner, well dressed for the fall in knee-high leather boots, a woolen skirt and a sweater with my hair curled pin-up style. I’m waiting for my date to pick me up.

A maroon 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass with a cream colored canvass retractable roof pulls up beside me. I open the passenger door and look down the long vinyl front seat to the driver who is crouched over the steering wheel like a vulture. He’s wearing black jeans and is turning to look at me from beneath a bowler hat. It’s a young Tom Waits.

      “Are you C--?” he asks.

“That’s me,” and I slide in, shutting the door behind me. He’s excited as he drives and says we’re going to a restaurant he knows that is unique. I’m a little star-struck but also confused.

“Don’t you have a wife, Tom?” I ask, thinking of his famously successful marriage to Kathleen Brennan.

“Not yet,” he answers. “It’s only 1978.” Ah, of course. I’ve time-traveled again. This must mean that I’m dreaming. I gain lucidity for a moment, but then I get lost in the implications of time-paradoxes. I start to worry that if I alter the course of historical events so that Tom and Kathleen don’t marry, then I could wake up to a world without Swordfishtrombones and Mule Variations. Dinner with Tom Waits isn’t worth that risk.

Just as I’m about to protest, he parks the car and we get out to walk around a field of giant tulips. Butterflies fly around above our heads and then swoop down to circle us. The tulips are easily eight feet tall, and Tom Waits explains that the flowers grow so high here because the sun is closer to the earth at this spot. I look up in the sky and see that the sun is a massively huge yellow and orange swirl. Its spiraling rays seem to touch the ground. We start walking along a path towards a tower in the distance that is a mosaic of pieces of colorful glass bottles, marbles and bicycle rims. Its windows are stained glass like a cathedral.

“That’s the restaurant,” Tom tells me. He starts to tell me the history of the tulip park, how it was discovered and how the restaurant owners grow all their own food here. He’s very excited about all this and keeps stopping along the path to point at something or wave his arms around, caught up in his narrative. I’m delighted.

But then my husband suddenly appears. He is surprised to see me here. I introduce him to Tom Waits. Both men are polite to one another but obviously it is awkward. My husband looks at me, puzzled and a little hurt. I feel guilty, but my immediate concern is how to save face. After some platitudes, my husband says he’ll be on his way. Tom politely asks if he’d like to join us for dinner, and my husband accepts.

We continue our stroll towards the restaurant as a trio, but it is obvious that Tom Waits is feeling awkward and confused. The moment is ruined. I feel deeply embarrassed. I ask Tom to excuse us for a minute and I step aside with my husband. I consider the problem. I want to complete the date, but I also want to protect my happy marriage. Trying to think of a solution, I realize again that I’m dreaming. Armed with this lucidity, I tell me husband to leave. He looks sad, but I explain that I will not feel guilty about it because it is only a dream. My husband turns around to walk down the path away from us. I continue on with Tom Waits, but I’m not having fun anymore and the lucidity is lost once again.

Tom and I walk in awkward silence for a little while, and I realize that he is only being polite now. He no longer has any real interest in taking me to the restaurant. Also, I’m worried that I’ve damaged my marriage. So I tell Tom that it was not meant to be- too many time paradoxes and spouses to carry on. He agrees, relieved that he doesn’t have to go through the charade of taking me to the restaurant. And I run down the path after my husband.

      Wurm and Mouse Plague
      Clarity: 6/10
      Importance:4/10
      Sleep: Good
      Sleep Position: Unknown
There is a gigantic snakelike worm thing rampaging across the country side. It eats everything, and frequently raids the local village, snatching people. I'm in a hunting party with the villagers hunting this thing down so we can kill it. We track the beast back to it's lair. The mighty wurm is in the trees over what looks to be a cross between quicksand and a tar pit.

I yell at the guys to take the shot, but they hesitate. When one finally does shoot, he only hits the beast in the end of it's tail. The great wurm drops out of the branches and plunges into the muck below where it disappears. I give the guys with me crap for wasting our only opportunity to kill it.

Now I to to third person perspective, and see an evil looking black rat on a tree branch. The rat is rather cartoony, with pointy oval body segments, and about the length of my forearm. This rat grabs a large green mouse that scampers by, and they both tumble into the muck below, where another rat mouse pair are struggling. At first I think the rats are the predators, but the green mice use the muck to their advantage and kill the rats before eating them.

As the green mice eat, I hear them talk to each other. They say this is a good location to start a colony. I know that's going to be trouble, because the giant wurm has eaten all the predators in the area that would control this giant mouse population. Without any predators, the mice will become as much of a problem as the wurm.

      Nap Fragment: Great Idea
I'm at a keg party on my school's roof. I notice that the plastic beer cups have a straw built into them. The main part goes down the side of the glass, and the part you put in your mouth is part of the rim of the glass, and can be pulled out if you want to use the straw.

That idea is going to make me a million bucks!

    14. kids in stairwell, leg levitation, lucid wall-cross fail

      by , 11-20-2010 at 12:35 PM
Good morning everybody. I remember three really short dreams from last night. They were all from after 2 AM. I had coffee last night and couldn't fall asleep until 2 AM.

The third dream was pretty much all lucid, even though it was short.

      Dream #1

I walked through some room toward a staircase. The staircase was just past a doorway and was part of some slightly larger hallway, like for a small apartment building.

The room I was in was something like a mix between a living room and a small apartment lobby.

I had to maneuver a little bit past some kids who were rough housing with each other right in front of the doorway to the hallway. There were boys and girls, probably in their early teens or just a little younger. Their parents stood nearby. I thought the kids were funny, and they looked like they were having fun.

I wallked into the hallway and turned toward the staircase. A group of kids ran just in front of me, blocking me from the staircase. The began wrestling and rough housing with each other. I thought they were pretty funny. I just waited for their rough housing to pass.

But then I remembered that the parents were in the doorway, watching the kids. I thought that the parents would think I was weird for hanging around and watching the kids. I decided to get moving. I tried to edge past the kids. It was really difficult, because there were so many kids, and the hallway was so small.

      Dream #2

I was in "my bed," in "my bedroom," which was a lot like my bedroom in waking life, except messy. My lights were on.

I was laying face-down on my bed. I was thinking bad thoughts about God. For some reason, I was really angry at God. The more I cursed him, the more amusing I found the activity.

Eventually my legs began levitating off the bed. I wasn't controlling it, but I thought I might be able to. My legs lifted higher and higher until my body was almost perpendicular to the bed, with my head on the bed.

At some point, I noticed little specks of dirt or something black all over my bed. There were also hairs or cotton fibers, also colored black, all over my bed.

I started trying to blow all the dust and dirt and hair off my bed. Some of it would blow away. But there was so much. I wondered how I could have let my bed get so dirty.

      Dream #3

I was in "my bedroom" at night. I was crouched down on the floor, possibly naked, with my knees to my chest. The bedroom lights were off, but I could see by the purplish evening light.

I told myself that this wasn't actually my bedroom. That seemed pretty obvious. I told myself I was dreaming.

As soon as I told myself this, I had a false awakening and sat up on "my bed." But I was still lucid.

I stood out of the bed and told myself to remain calm. I figured I would walk out of the house and see what was around. The house seemed like a suburban house.

I was heading for the front door. But suddenly I thought, Why should I exit through the door? If I'm in a dream, I should be able to leave the house any way I want.

So I decided to walk through a wall. I turned right, into another room, possibly another bedroom. I walked straight up to the wall, which had a window on it that started at about my chest.

I thought I might climb up onto the windowsill and walk through the window. But I figured I didn't need to go throgh the trouble. Walking through a wall and walking through a window were basically the same thing.

I began to walk through the wall. It seemed pretty easy. But suddenly I saw a bright light. I felt like something was resisting. I got kind of mad, and I pushed really hard through the resistance.

I'm pretty sure I lost lucidity at this point. I fell past the wall and fell a couple stories down to the ground. I think that as I fell, I was telling myself, Oh well, I guess I woke up from that dream.

I sat up. It was daytime. I "had awoken from my dream." To my right was a red brick wall. To my left was a beach, possibly like Coney Island. The sky was deep blue and the light was dim, almost as if I were looking at an old film.

      ★★☆☆☆

      11/19/10

I'm a lifeguard at an indoor pool. We're doing drills, practicing rescue techniques. I stand at the edge of the pool, deliberately collapse into the water.

Someone from high school. He's another lifeguard. He dives in after me, pulls me up to the surface.

Surprised to be shooting up out of the water, suspended in the air for a moment.

I'm staying in a hostel with two friends. Going to our bunk beds, and I'm looking up at the inside of a dome-like structure, planning my escape. We're in a group, aren't allowed to leave at night. I plan to. Sharing a conspiratorial glance with the other troublemakers.

A school. My brother and I are sneaking in with one of the girls from the hostel trip. She doesn't speak English. I shrug, tell my brother to pin the blame on me if we get in trouble. Nothing they can do to me.

      Hostel. Scare Factor: 1/10.

Yeah, I haven't been around much. Between moving to a new city and starting a new job (or two, or three), life's been a little hectic. I'll get caught up on others' journals when I get the chance.
