    1. Lucid: My reflection pulls me in!

      by , 03-19-2013 at 09:49 PM
I am in some sort of bathroom and I look into the mirror. I see a woman. Curious, I look closer wondering what is happening. Then I see another reflection walk into view. At this point I realize that I am dreaming and declare lucidity. I look closer to the mirror and I feel a force pull me inside the mirror. I lose my lucidity in the process and I end up underwater. As I breathe I feel the water entering my lungs. It was a very vivid feeling. Despite this sensation I can breathe just fine. Next thing I know I am talking to a guy about plundering a dungeon in search of ancient artifacts. but I must pay 7,000 gold. I then try to look into the guys computer but for what I don't know. I remember that I had trouble shutting down the computer. No matter how many times I clicked shut down it just would not do so but finally it did. I also remember being outside playing catch with people across the street. After playing, this black man comes up and says something about how we should not play around the street. Then everyone started to have asthma attacks. For me mine wasn't as bad as what the others have had. I coughed a little bit

Note: First lucid in a long time. After combining ADA with critical questioning. Hopefully my next lucid won't be far away.

    2. 3/19/13 - Horrible jacket/Locker

      by , 03-19-2013 at 09:23 PM (/ᐠ≽ ◺˰◿ ≼マ)
I'm at the mall just looking around at the stores, I see a manikin wearing this jacket. It looks what a ninja would wear at first, so I take it off the manikin to try it on but then I realized it changed into an ugly jacket with 'socal' stuff all over it, so I try to take it off but I struggle trying, it's like trying to get heavy wet clothes off of you that suction to the body. I keep trying, while walking to the mall directory, then I see the girl I've been in love with for years. We make eye contact, and then I panic because I'm wearing this obnoxious jacket, so I hide behind the mall directory desperately pulling at it, I get it to where only one sleeve is latching to me, then I see her walking away but looking at me with smile because she knew I was trying to get the jacket off and all I can do is smile back. Then the scene changes to my old middle school, I'm sitting up against the water fountain brick wall because I know she's behind it sitting against the building wall, and I'm exhilarated by the feeling of her presence. This makes me late for changing in the locker room for p.e. I realize this and jump up & run into the locker room, I go to where I usually get dressed, but two students are there giving me smug looks, so I walk to where my friends are and tell them if they can help me. One of my friends run to the coach in the locker room office and I see them talking. Then my friend runs back holding stuff & hands it to me, it's a loaner lock, and loaner p.e. clothes. On the lock on the back is a white sticker with a number written in sharpie, it says 88, so I use it on the locker 888 that is by my friends, I get dressed, people & my friends already when outside for p.e. I lock my clothes into the locker, then I realize I have no where to put my backpack and I don't trust people to not steal it or anything inside it, so I look around for what to do with it, then I notice an open locker just to the right of mine it is only slightly larger than mine so I jam my backpack in it then slam the locker door shut and run outside.

    4. One of my earliest Lucid dreams

      by
      pog
      , 03-19-2013 at 08:55 PM (Pog's Dream Journal)
My dream was a strange and silly miss-mash of stuff from life and my past, the usual stuff, until I exited a mansion and looked over the mountainous landscape of 'China'. Instantly the realisation hit me, "I'm dreaming."

As soon as I said it I felt a rush of energy and happiness, the vividness of my dreamscape seemed to increase, and I flew into the air instantaneously with the desire to fly. I flew into some trees exulting in my new power and liberty, feeling great. I turned and headed back to the mansion and began looking in through the windows.

I wanted to explore and push the boundaries, see what I could do in the dream. I opened a window and climbed into what appeared to be a little storeroom. I noticed a bottle of drink, some non-specific alcoholic beverage by the look on the bottle, inside a mini-fridge. Possibly a sherry or wine. I became quite thirsty, and thought to myself, "I wonder if it is possible to drink in a dream?"

I opened the fridge, took the bottle, and began to take off the plastic wrapper on the outside of the screw top. It was strangely sticky and wouldn't come off my fingers. "Odd," I thought. It took a great deal of concentration and effort to get the plastic to fall off my fingers.

I unscrewed the top, but then I woke suddenly. It is still a very vivid memory to me, although I'm disappointed by the brevity.

    5. has anyone else experienced something like this?

      by , 03-19-2013 at 08:41 PM
I usually don't remember much about my dreams. However sometimes I will have dreamtime experiences that follow me into waking time - one a few years ago where I was in the woods watching a fire ceremony of sorts with this wild music, and as I woke up I could still hear the music. Another one I had what can only be described as electricity coursing through me and I was paralyzed but fully awake while trying to fall back to sleep. In that one I also had the face of a man/lion present itself and move to the crazy beating of my heart. That one I was totally awake for. This morning I reached a point in a dream where I sat down on the floor against a wall in a white room and gave some sort of permission for some sort of energy to merge with mine. I could feel the pressure from it - it was immense - and I remember thinking "I can still breathe so it is still OK". Then it became so intense I woke up from it and still felt it in what I believe was a totally conscious state. I didn't try to move until it left. I could feel it leave - Pressure left my torso first, and the feeling was similar to having a limb fall asleep in my lower legs, ankles and feet. It left more slowly there. Has anyone else had this happen? In my dream I allowed it, I welcomed it, I didn't fear it. But I have no idea why or what it was.
    6. A Taste of Death

      by , 03-19-2013 at 08:29 PM (dolphin's dreams)
After a routine awakening I tried to go back to sleep. After a few minutes, without warning, a bat flew across my head and screeched. I noticed that I was now completely paralyzed. As my vision faded to black, I thought that I was dying. Instead, I woke up with my head under my sheets.

    7. 19th Mar 2013 MMO, Infinite wood debris glitch, Dark matter constructions in the sky

by , 03-19-2013 at 08:10 PM (Scionox's Journal of Dreams)
      Dream 1(fragment):

I was playing some kind of MMO with a friend, we controlled some characters from top down. I was annoyed by p2w(pay to win) system and then friend bought everything for both of us.

      Dream 2(fragments):

I was in some game in 2D, that looked like Terraria. Screen was very limited and i and some people were fighting some enemies. Then screen expanded and some tree was misplaced on the level, ending up being in the air, which caused error that started spawning infinite wooden debris. View switched to 3D and now i was in the park. The infinite debris spawning error was in the sky and it produced bigger and bigger wooden debris which were falling through the ground. I noticed that sky is more like skybox in video games and decided to meddle with it a bit. I ended up creating some kind of... dark matter objects, hard to describe but they were basically geometric objects made of dark matter strings and they also were connected to the 'walls' of skybox, they were randomly moving and connection was 'dynamic' in a way that base of strings that was on the wall was moving with those. I was satisfied and then some artist with long hair showed up, he asked if he could add to it and i was fine with it. He added more detail to the constructions and now they looked even better. After that we were boasting about our art to random people that were around the place.
    8. Long WBTB = insomnia

      by , 03-19-2013 at 08:06 PM
      Date: 19/3
      Duration: 3 minutes
Method: WBTB (3 hours, couldn't get back to sleep) and SSILD
      Scene:
I woke up at 4:30, went to toilet and did SSILD. Couldn't fall asleep for a few hours but was comfortable.
After having a few regular dreams I wake up again in my room. I have the feeling it was a FA so I did nose-block and confirmed I was dreaming. When I felt confident I got out of bed, and was kind of unstable on my feet. I tried to open my eyes and they were very heavy but with some effort I get them open...

I am in my room, beside my bed. I again rub my hands together and look at them, and with some effort I am able to say
"this is a stable dream", "I will have a long and stable lucid dream".
Starting to move I look around my room and I notice the walls are all covered with letters which form unreadable words (yea I have a test in school on friday)
I start rubbing my hands together and use verbal commands again. I get out of my room into the hall and go into my room mates room. It is empty.
I turn around and go into my other room mates room and it is also empty.

Its sure getting exiting at this point...

The dream fades and I wake up in my bed. Another FA. I tried the same methods as before, but upon opening my eyes I actually wake up.

      Reflection:
This is the longest LD I've had in quite a while. It wasn't very interesting to read, I'm sure, but the level of clarity and stability was so awesome! It also confirmed to me the technique is worth praticing.
I hope I'm on a streak and maybe next time I will go outdoors!

    9. Beer

      by , 03-19-2013 at 08:06 PM
      Date: 15/3
Time: Lucid for maybe 10 sec
Method: Short WBTB and SSILD (+WILD?)
      Scene:
After doing my SSILD cycles I went back to sleep. I then woke up later again and I think I did a WILD cause I remember lying in bed waiting, and then I was in a dream.
In this dream I seemed to hover just under the ceiling of the room and I got the idea to rub my hands, legs and try to stabilize the dream. I remember looking at my feet and thats when the scene went black.
After this I got non-lucid and I remember something like 4 dreams after that which had an aura of being on the werge of lucid. For example, I looked out the window from and apartment where I attended a party, and the world outside the windows were spinning (I had some beers last night ), this was strange and I almost did a RC.
I think me forgetting to do a RC initially caused me to loose lucidity this time.
I got lucid a short while in a later dream but again I didn't RC.

Oh, one very odd thing happened towards the end of the night. I dreamt Giz Edwards were commenting on my lucid dream and looking puzzled when I told him I had hovered just beneath the ceiling of the room. Maybe he gave me some advice but I can't remember.

I have not set any specific goal other than stabilizing in the dream at the moment, but I notice that what I refer to as "going black" doesn't always mean I wake up, but rather I have a FA or just get back to non-lucid dreaming. I am at this point just focusing on getting lucid as much as possible.

    10. 1 dream - 19th March

      by , 03-19-2013 at 07:11 PM
      Location: dads home

      Bedtime: 01:15
      First wakeup: 09:30
      Final wakeup: 11 : ??

      Notes before bed: I dreaming

      Ride to the meeting (dream)
Me and my gf were gonna go to a meeting in the city. I hadn't noticed the time, so I only had 20 minutes to get there. And I knew it would take me atleast 50 minutes by walking there.
I asked my dad if he could drive me there, but he didn't have time he said. Instead he gave me cash, lots of coins and some bills/papermoney. Total it was maybe around 200 SEK ($30 maybe). So I thought I may just take the bus then (1 ride costs like $2), and I might be in time.

      That's it.

      ----------------
Thought I might start write why I think the dream recall came up, because it always have some reason, or often.

Yesterday me and my friend went to a meeting in the city, about our association that we might team up with an EU project. And well we got some paper to fill in etc.

And that was probably because of the dream, except that in this dream it was with my gf instead.

    11. Sleeping like a log

      by , 03-19-2013 at 05:38 PM
Despite my increased motivation to LD, the recent two weeks have not delivered to my perhaps unrealistic expectations, so I decided it’s time to analyze what has been happening.

      Negatives:
      - Sleep schedule disruptions: unfortunately guest stay-over during the weekends (on bf’s initiative) means having exhilarating conversations up to 2 am, then listening to bed preparations, and I fall asleep at 4-5 am. Obviously, this makes it harder to wake up early, and go to bed early, and this is spiralling into the week.
      - Increased sugar intake: I have been very tired last couple of days, mostly like because of the above reasons, but I’m thinking that eating some ultra sweet desserts before bed in the last few evenings has contributed to this. Don’t usually consume that much sugar and this dehydrates and exhausts me.
      - Reduced physical activity: have not touched dumbbells/jogging, etc., really don’t feel like moving at all! I probably should go back to exercising, this does help my sleep and improves my mood. Just do it!

      Positives:
-RCs: after registering at DV, I have been doing a nice amount of RCs, including starting the day with a RC
-DJ: I keep the tablet near my bed, so it’s pretty fast & easy to jot down any dreams
-Sleep recall: I have been writing down dreams every day, even if it’s just fragments, and that helps me remember more
-Just let it be: I try to have a positive attitude, perhaps my body is tired and needs more sleep, so I just let myself recharge, confident that things will eventually align
-Dream Yoga: as mentioned before I was conducting the experiment, having to fall asleep, while concentrating on a white letter ”a” on the area below navel for seven days in a row. That helps me fall asleep faster, plus usually helps with LDs, so I think I will try to incorporate it into my every night routine.

      19 March Dream Fragments

As mentioned, was really exhausted last few days, so I slept like a log, didn’t even wake up to go to toilet.  After waking up still tired as hell, I couldn’t remember anything. I was beginning to get rather pissed off, but did a RC anyways. I also repeated my DS – there are lots them. If not anything else, I catch the feeling that I dreamt 3 DS, I sit on the sofa and try to concentrate (got interrupted by a phone call and conversation in the process).

Dream1 [Fragment]: I am at my grandma’s apartment(DS). She is also there and plans on going to the city center with the tram. I tell her that she will be really uncomfortable in the tram, taking into consideration the way she is dressed. She wears a green sweater, similar to one I had but never wore in the past, and she has a semi-transparent red-orange blouse from a lighter material over the sweater, so basically these are reverse and I tell her that she needs to change, so that she is more flexible in the public transportation. [there was more I can’t remember]

Dream2: I am in my first school (DS) and a schoolmate (DS) from there tells me he wants to find our teacher from second grade. We go into one of the classrooms (I am always amazed IRL at how accurately I remember my schools in dreams!), looking for our teacher. She is behind the teacher desk, her hair has greyed, she behaves like a puppet. I tell her that my schoolmate was looking for her and wants to send his regards to her. While I am saying this, she behaves like a robot, doesn’t even look at me, but continues writing down on some document, which she signs, and perhaps tries to pass to me. We leave the room and I continue in the corridor, towards the school gym. In the corridor are two girls from my high school (DS). They are happy to see each other, talking to each other. I remember during the dream that they are good friends. I continue towards the gym and see some more girls from high school. A narrator’s voice is telling me something about the two girls, how the mood of the one was actually influencing the behaviour of the other all the time, or something like this.

Dream 3 [DS recall only] – I am sure that I dreamt the guy from high school, that I called main DC in the previous DJ post…

    12. Rose Petals

      by , 03-19-2013 at 04:41 PM
I don't remember much about last night's dreams, beyond being back in college and in a class. My computer screen was a hologram suspended above the desks. I was openly browsing a porn website, but nobody really seemed to care. There was a girl who was taking a class on playing the fiddle, and I was jealous because I wanted to learn to play. I began telling my classmates about a woman who played the harp with a bow.

Then I was going to a job, which was inside of a hotel. I was carrying a handful of fake, dried rose petals. I was very protective of my fake rose petals, if other people tried to look at them or take them from me. There was a man inside, wearing sort of a hotel-concierge-uniform, working on an arrangement of cut roses. I wanted to set my petals down but was worried someone would mistake them for real ones and clean them up and throw them away. I showed them to the man and woman, and they seemed fascinated by them.

Then I was in an elevator going up to a room. In the other room, there was an obese woman conjuring illusions in a large, cylindrical fish tank.
    13. The DreamViews Drive

      by , 03-19-2013 at 03:43 PM
This was a fun little WILD and attempt at Advanced Task of the Month. It's been a while since I've had to navigate my house and I'd forgotten how challenging it can be. Darkness seems to lurk around every corner and I'm always trying to just get out. Couldn't do that for this Task of the Month -- had to head further in.

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

      Lucid #78: The DreamViews Drive

I'm getting consistent hypnagogic imagery of the den of our house, so I feel like I'm getting close. I focus on staying aware, and after a few more flashes of the den, a fully three-dimensional picture emerges. I will myself to roll off of the couch, and my dream body complies. I check my hands and feet and everything looks normal. No extra fingers or troll feet. The carpet feels very realistic as well and I mentally confirm that there's no reason I would have fallen asleep downstairs.

I give the coffee table a little shove with my foot and it glides over the carpet. Okay, now I'm really sure it's a dream. I walk through the den past my computer, stepping on a bunch of the kids' toys as I go. Strangely, there's a laundry basket in the middle of the floor. I give the laundry basket a hefty kick and it goes sailing into the air and flies straight out the window. I'm quite amused with myself.

Outside there's just a hint of light, like it's the early morning. I don't think it's possible that the sun's up yet, but it makes me feel more urgent and focused. Since I'm in the house, I want to find the note that I left for myself for Advanced Task of the Month. I have to get back up to our bedroom. I wonder whether I'll find myself there. The thought of my sleeping body makes me feel a little wobbly, so I imagine instead that Wife is lying in the bed by herself. I wonder whether Wife's DC will be interested in "victory celebrations" if I can complete Advanced Task of the Month.
      (Menthol, is that you?)

I walk through the kitchen, dining room, and den, past the pool table to the stairs. For a moment I think about trying a pool shot, but decide that I'd better stay focused. I'm pleased that the baby gate is missing from the bottom of the stairs. Halfway up, though, I see that this dream house has the baby gate installed in the middle of the stairs. "That's not real," I think, and phase through it.

The upstairs looks really, really dark. I notice a light switch on the wall next to me. I try both of the switches several times, but each of them just controls the air conditioner instead of the lights! Every time I flip one of them, the air conditioning rumbles to life and I feel a light stir of wind.

I'm not sure what to do, so I just charge ahead. The darkness starts to get really bad, and I realize that I'm about to lose the dream. I grab onto the banister as darkness sweeps over me. I produce a gladius in my right hand and start swinging it around in the void, still clutching the banister. I stay like this for quite some time, not losing the dream but also not going anywhere. It feels like at least 30 seconds. I fail to formulate a good transition to a new scene (or a way back into the existing scene), and I either fade to black or lose lucidity...

It's a clear morning. Wife and I are in a car, pulling up to a two-story brick house to pick up my best friend F. F greets us at the door and comes out to inspect the car we're driving, an amazing classic car that looks a bit like a '55 Chevy Belair. Wife goes inside the house and I tell F that he and I should go for a ride. I hand him the keys and he drives.

As we start down the street, I tell F, "Man, I just had a lucid dream before we came over here. I've got to enter it into DreamViews." He says cool. There's something like an old-style typewriter embedded in the car's console. I know that if I type the dream into this typewriter it'll automatically get posted to DreamViews. I marvel at how convenient this is. I congratulate myself for renting such a wonderful car.

While I peck randomly at the keys, I ask F whether he's had any lucid dreams lately when he's commuting on the train. He says no, and we talk dreaming for a bit. I say something about dream signs and I mention that one of mine is "really bad driving." He laughs and says, "You mean like this?" He hits a quick 3-point turn and floors the accelerator, sending us streaking back toward the house.

"It's a rental!" I whine. "Be careful, man!" It's a residential street and he's doing 60 mph, easy. We're almost back to the house now and he hasn't slowed down one bit. I'm distracted, too, because I'm still trying to type my DJ entry into the car's typewriter-thing. Now I realize that I don't have a seat belt. I alternate between blubbering "It's a rental!!" and "There's no seat belt!!" As we hit the driveway, I throw in, "I don't want to die!!"

F cuts the wheel hard to the left. There's a squeal of rubber and the car stops a few feet from the house. I'm relieved to be alive. I'm not angry because I assume that he just didn't hear my complaints. "I was trying to tell you, man. I don't think my side has a seat belt!"

He laughts. "Nothing's going to happen to you, man!" I get out of the car and see that it's turned into a convertible.
I get it now. "F! This is a dream, isn't it?" He's walking inside the house and I hurry after him, the dream growing dark. Fade to black...

      by , 03-19-2013 at 03:39 PM
I went to work as usual and instead of working I decided to turn the lights off and go to sleep in the evs breakroom in my dream. I woke up in my dream in some kind of bedroom on the other side of the room. I was in a bed then and a white and ashy colored kitten jumped on the bed with me. I pet it for a little while and it got up and ran off I remember naming the kitten polar. (Hmm, maybe this if my dream sign??)

    15. Roaming the Night

      by , 03-19-2013 at 03:08 PM (Death's Other Kingdom)
      03.19.2013
      Roaming the Night (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

Prior to the events of the dream, I was hanging out with a werewolf and a vampire in a pub somewhere in the city. These two happen to be characters of mine from some silly story I tried writing in middle school/early high school.

The dream opens as I am walking through the city at night, searching for my car. Once I find it, I make a wrong turn down a dark, sketchy looking road. Somehow I end up on foot again as I try to turn back around (dream logic doesn't like me driving, apparently). As I'm walking, a tall guy in his late teens approaches me. He is dripping with an air of false friendliness.

He soon questions me about the vampire I was hanging out with in the pub. He wants to know his name. "Vincent," I tell him, mentally preparing myself for the fight or chase that is bound to happen.

      "Vincent what?"

"Just Vincent. He doesn't have a last name. For all I know, Vincent isn't even his real first name, either."

The guy loses his friendly act and says that the vamp is bound to come here once he hears my screams. I can't really see Vincent caring one way or another what happens to me, but Dakota (the werewolf) would surely flip out. Not wanting the wolf to find out what trouble I've gotten myself into yet again, I break into a sprint.

I easily stay one step ahead of the guy, but soon we come upon my Aunt's house and I see that this isn't going to end without a fight. The guy is stronger than I would have thought; it becomes clear that he intends to rape me. The fight is brutal and lasts several minutes. In the end, I get the upper hand and beat the guy until he is moaning on the ground, pleading for me to stop.
