    1. clxxi. The "Mu" note

      by , 09-29-2020 at 05:26 PM
Was unable to motivate myself to write initial notes but initial recall was good.

      29th September 2020

      Scraps:

Something about H. H found something that in the dream was called the 14th note? Some kind of mysterious and forgotten-about musical note or tone. This 14th note was dubbed "Mu".

      Notes:

      - I recently watched a film called Valerian, by the same person that made The Fifth Element. On Valerian there was a planet Mul. Somehow the topics seem related, this "Mu" note being a musical fifth element of some sort.
    2. Three dreams | Summary of the week

      by , 06-18-2017 at 07:41 PM
I got three non-lucid dreams, but I'm not writing them down now. I'm too lazy and they weren't that interesting. But here's what they were about:

#1: A city and a little poor boy
      #2: School and books
#3: My crush, some other boy and a store

Now I'm going to do a summary of the week, because that's what I do with my other DJ too. It's very simple, I just count (yes I count them) how many normal dreams, LDs and SPs I've recalled in total and for that week. Here it is:

      Total:

      Dreams: 968
      LDs: 93
      SPs: 29

      This week:
      Dreams: 12
      LDs: 2
      SPs: 29

That was it! I like doing this, because then I have a good change to view how the recent week has went in the dreamland.

    3. Pretty bad week for me

      by , 06-16-2017 at 04:11 PM (Nef's dream journal)
Bad or near to zero recall, 5 failed WILD attempts, deep sleep.
I really should RC more, so i can increase the chance of success . But then , I don't want to have an unstable DILD , dild never went good for me. I want to have a WILD , finally a lucid dream where i was lucid from the very beginning so it may be more stable , and would take more time , before I wake up.
Plus I need to find that dreamguide of mine, tried many times and failed to find it. I wonder if I have one? Or I have to create one myself?
Next week exams will be over so after I've done with them, I hope I'll have some LD's with the feel of relief.

    4. [25-04-2016]

      by , 04-25-2016 at 05:35 PM (Snehk's Dreamlands)
It was a rainy afternoon. I was in my house, taking books out of my backpack. Suddenly I found a note which I wrote down to remind me about a big and important contest that I must participate in. I complained in my thoughts that it'd waste a lot of time. I rushed to a wardrobe and took a black suit out of it.

Then I saw a couple meeting together at an evening. It was a blonde, slim and tall woman and a dark haired, tall dude. She was wearing a red dress and he was wearing casual clothes. They went to a date in an exclusive restaurant in a tropical island.

I was back in my house, taking everything that I needed for the contest, then called my mother and younger sister so they would drive with me. They decided that mother should drive this time. Leaving the house and getting closer to a car, I had a strange feeling that the contest isn't tomorrow, that it has passed. I ran back to house and looked at the note again - it showed a date from last year. I went to kitchen to my older sister and said that I almost unneccessarily drove for a contest that passed long ago!

Then I saw the couple again. They were arguing a little. She wanted a serious romantic relationship with him, while he repeated all the time that he isn't worth her and she should find someone better. Everybody looked at them. He jumped on the table - he was wearing torn rags - and shouted "Now tell me what you see! I am nothing! You know how I look like?!" after a while of silence he shouted "I look like a dirty beggar!" She replied "No. You look like a really nice guy!" He tore his rags off and started wanking. When he finished he said "Sorry, sometimes I do stupid things for myself...". She said "I do these things for men!"

    6. The Note

      by , 08-10-2014 at 05:47 PM
      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

      Lucid #229: The Note

I’m sitting in a restaurant and something feels off to me. I stand up to find Wife standing here beside me and I realize that a lucid dream has started. “Do you want to come along?” I ask Wife.

“Sure, okay!” she responds rather happily. This is a nice change because she’s normally more involved in the dream plot and not as cooperative.

I walk outside of the restaurant with Wife, opening the glass door to walk through. Oops, I’d meant to do a phase for the competition! I try to quickly phase through it while it’s open. I phase my arm through the door and then start moving the rest of my body through, Wife giving me a very strange look. The door becomes flimsy in the middle of the attempt and starts folding in on itself. I gyrate my hips, trying to hurry through before it collapses, and I’m very conscious that it totally looks like I’m humping it.

The door becomes completely unmanageable and the scene comes apart as I fall into the void. I hand-rub for a bit to wait this out but sense that something is close to my face, something that I can chew on. I bite down on it and it tastes like a soft, very mild licorice. I usually hate licorice but there’s something about this that makes it a little more bearable, sort of like it’s been crossed with bubble gum somehow.

I keep chewing and chewing, walking forward through the void. I eat fast, consuming yards of the stuff as I walk forward. After a while, it just feels like it’s been too long in the void and that I need to do something about it. For some reason I raise both of my arms over my head before calling out, “Dreamer, pull me out!” I don’t feel any physical contact, but almost immediately find myself standing in my darkened master bedroom, no longer in the void.

There’s a piece of paper stuck on the opposite wall covered with large, handwritten letters. I interpret this as being a note that Dreamer has left for me. It looks like gibberish, so I move forward, trying to get a better look. It rearranges itself, but it’s still unreadable. Then the letters rearrange into:

“Sorry couldn’t read reply, check the”

I interpret this as meaning there’s something I’m meant to read, but I don’t know what. This is relevant for later… see the end of this entry!

I wander out into the hall, which is lit up like it’s morning. I remember my intent to phase and try to phase through my youngest child R’s door. Unfortunately the door just comes open instead of letting me phase and I see R beginning to stir around in bed. This sounds like a good way to get wrapped up in a dream plot, so I back away into the hall.

I fly down the stairs to the kitchen area to see that the breakfast table has been moved far to the side and that almost the entire area is covered with Lego pieces. The coolest part is that most of them have been assembled into these amazing, moving models of roads, freeways, machines, amusement park carousels, and all kinds of other things. It’s really vivid, so much so that it’s hard to shake the feeling that I’m viewing a scene from waking life. I think that in this scenario, Wife must have stayed up all night building this.

I leave through the back door, finding myself in a park walking along a red dirt path dotted with autumn leaves. I follow the path into a building with large plate glass windows all around its walls. I look back at the park through the window, marveling at how realistic it looks when I shift my perspective. I feel excited and happy to see this, saying, “I can’t believe my mind generated all of this.”

I remember again that I’d meant to phase, so I walk toward one of the plate glass windows, anticipating an easy phase. Unfortunately, before I get there,
      the dream ends.

Notes: Here’s something cool. Immediately upon waking up, I removed my sleep mask and looked over at the clock. Just as I was looking at it, my iPod’s screen came on with a notification. I popped it open and just at that moment I’d received a Skype message from Dreamer.

This was really exciting to me because of what the note had said earlier (“Sorry couldn’t read reply, check the”), and the timing was perfect. I guess that the end of the message would have been “check the iPod”. Pretty cool!

    7. The Obsidian Tower

      by , 01-01-2013 at 05:17 PM
This was the second of two lucid dreams from the morning of New Year's Day.

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

      Lucid #52: The Obsidian Tower

I'm in a doctor's office, waiting awkwardly nearby while he examines some patient that I don't know. I'm a bit bored, so I think about the morning's previous lucid dream and how close I came to not recognizing that I'm dreaming. Things start to feel strange to me, so I hit the nose-pinch and become lucid.

I walk out of the office into a hallway and start looking for "Exit" signs. I'm excited to see one at the end of the hallway. I follow it and happily, there's another leading me further on. A tightly-packed group of DCs strolls through the hallway, taking up the entire thing. I "excuse me, excuse me" my way through them and work my way to the next "Exit" sign. This one points me toward a stairwell.

I begin to worry that I'm very high up so I decide that I need to get downstairs as efficiently as possible. I leap over the railing, intent on jumping my way to the bottom. Unfortunately, I just land in an untidy heap. A lady walking up the stairs nearby yelps when I crash-land. She hurries toward me and asks, "Are you okay?" It's pretty embarrassing. I tell her, "Thanks, but you don't need to worry about me."

I hop back up and then leap over the next railing. It goes much better this time, and I hop all the way to the bottom like this, and it's probably 6-8 stories' worth of stairs. There's a long hallway at the bottom and as I walk along it, two boys of about 12 go running past me, one chasing the other. The boy in front is holding a handwritten note and the boy in pursuit says, "Give that back!" I stop them both, saying, "That's mine now", and pluck the note out of the first kid's hands. They register no objection to this and quickly wander away.

The note has 6 bullet points, each with a sentence. At the bottom is a phone number with the area code "666".
(Yikes!) I read every sentence and try to memorize them, but they're very random and strange. One was something about the sky. I really work at the memorization task but the content is so random that it feels hopeless. After I've read the note, I follow another "Exit" sign that leads me outside.

I'm in a large, outdoor courtyard on a foggy morning. Across the courtyard from me is an obsidian tower made entirely of glass. It rises high into the fog and its top is entirely out of sight. I remember my goal of seeing the Pyramid, but this tower has really grabbed my interest. I float up into the air and start guiding myself toward it. One lady in the courtyard shouts, "Wait, how are you so tall?" I wonder for a moment whether I'm just growing to an enormous height and not flying at all. I double-check -- nope, there are my feet. (Oddly, they are clad in loafers.)

I start involuntarily flying backward away from the tower instead of forward toward it. I decide to see what happens if I simply turn around and put my back to the tower. Fortunately, this works well and I keep drifting toward the tower (now at my back) as I rise. I whip through several layers of fog before perching on the tower's stone roof.

My friend AJ is seated up there, looking out over the city. "Congratulations!" she says. "It's a great view from up here." I have to agree. The sky is brilliantly red now, and somehow I can see the courtyard far below, almost as if the fog was one-way. I can in fact see a great deal of the city from here. I wonder whether the people that I'm looking at can see me back.

"So what am I doing all the way up here?" she says.

"I'm not sure, but I think you've got it pretty good. I had to work my ass off to get up here!"

She laughs and soon my vision fades to black. I try to DEILD but then AJ says, "Hey, you're actually still up here. You just can't see anything." I try to think about what I could do to get my sight back, but in a few more seconds,
      I'm really awake.

    8. Face-of-Boe's Dream Journal

      by , 10-03-2011 at 05:27 AM
I first joined in 2008 and had a dream journal then. Took a long break from DV. Now I'm back and attempting this again (using this new format).

I miss lucid dreaming, so hopefully keeping a dream journal will help increase my LD frequency.

    9. Couple of Frags And Sex Dreams ;)

      by , 01-31-2011 at 10:55 PM (Burke's Nightly Escapades)
I was walking up some type of hill that seemed to be shaded purple. I immediately realized this was from a video game and became lucid. I was feeling like a sex LD, so i summoned 2 really hot chicks and we went into a nearby house. I'll let you fill in the details I abruptly woke up in the middle of it and was kind of disappointed, but oh well.

I was standing in what i think was our church basement. The dream seemed to be in the third person view and i saw myself as about 12 years old sitting at a table across from the girl. She wrote something on a piece of paper and handed it to me. I can't remember what it said but somehow it got me lucid! I quickly jumped up and ran around the table, but, being stupid, forgot to stabalize the dream and it quickly faded. Damn, another wasted dream.

I was in the hull of some sort of ship and there was a great storm going on outside. I walked near the window and coud see huge waves hitting the boat. I ran up on deck but the waves were coming over the railing. I dashed into the big tower thingy that the captain is in (don't know what it's called) and i looked out the window. Then, suddenly, I woke up.
    10. An Apology

by , 11-28-2010 at 03:09 AM (a teahouse inside my head.)
I gave up on my dreams. As cheesy as it may sound in a normal context, it is a much more mundane thing to say on these forums.

I still have my goals for the future, I haven't lost my way, but I have lost the time (for the past couple of months at least) to write in my dream journal. I told myself I would be good this time, that I would write up my dreams every day. I was good for a while but then it turned to writing a weekly digest of my dreams and then I just got lazy. I truly was excited about the Shared Dreaming class but I let AP Chemistry and friendship problems derail me from the class (though they probably were more important in the long run considering I can still learn shared dreaming). I feel ashamed to have given up so quickly.

I am trying again though. I still am as interested in dreams as ever (possibly even more) and I am going to try even harder this time to stay on track. With almost every thing I do I fail the first time and subsequently get closer and closer to succeeding. What began as writing down about one dream every six months and giving up after that one night in the fourth grade blossomed into writing a detailed dream journal every day (with multiple dreams each day) for weeks. One could say I've been building up my dream journaling stamina. Hopefully I'm ready for the marathon this time.

That's it, I just wanted to state that I'm coming back and that I hope to disappoint myself less this time.

Shazam, one monthly goal down, 2 t'go.

LD 3 is in the bag, I'm a bit sad I didn't remember to try and summon my Sub (Or for that matter, talk to anyone/thing...) but I did try some tests and expressed a bit of dream control. It's also my first LD where I didn't HAVE t'do 2 RCs (Though I did RC twice out of choice.)

Can't write out the entire thing, but it was a mostly easily interpreted dream. Of note of the things I did were: Enter a mirror, summon 3 weapons, will clarity, test a 'head shake' (Instead of a spin... Worked... At the cost of lucidity.)

I'll also note I didn't need to calm myself after becoming lucid. (Though I should've gone through the motions anyway...)

There's no way in hell I'm typing out a dream journal on a PS3...

For one, the character limit is insufficient, and two, It's a pain anyway to type using the controller.

Once I get my computer running again though...

    13. Driving Around

      by , 08-03-2010 at 07:57 AM
I was in my house (well, the house was mine in the dream, but not the same as mine in real life). There was one lowered section, where I was, and one raised section, where all the sleeping people were (Mum and Dad specifically). I think it was about 2am. I decided to drive to go eat some pie. I snuck out the house, and went for the drive. It was the first dream I recall having at night time, so that was quite interesting. I drove down the road near my house with the speed bumps, but there were too many people turning left onto the main road, so I went back around the block, and turned left at a different location. I turned in front of a large truck, and had to accelerate quite quickly to avoid it. I don't recall if I ever made it to the pie shop, because the next thing I knew I was back inside, and my Mum was scolding me about needing to book the car in some sort of online form and seek prior permission before taking it out at night. I was being scolded by a post-it-note, rather than in person.

*May recall something about driving near my old school at this point, but don't know specifically*

      Emotions Felt:
      • Fear (at being caught)
      • Excitement (about the pie)
      • Frustration (upon waking, at not recognising the weirdness of the dream, and then turning lucid)
