      The only thing I really remember is that I was driving around the Lake Mary area with my dad and a few other people. It seemed like the city, but there were a few differences in the geography. Later, we were in a park, smoking bud. Afterward, we were driving back down Lake Emma, and I was only wearing my underwear. Someone in the car wanted some cigarettes, so we headed toward a convenience store, and passed by a bunch of cops, along the way. They were doing some kind of driving drills, on the road, and had caused a huge accident. The last thing I remember is trying to maneuver around the wreck.

      The only thing I remember is some chase sequence where I'm trying to catch this ninja girl (though I don't think it was the same girl that I was in my "Ninja Girl" dream, a while back). We were running around a dock/harbor area, and I had pyrokinesis. I remember throwing some fireballs at her, but she was just too quick and nimble; dashing and dodging around pretty much everything I threw at her, before taking off again and making me continue to chase her through the night.

      Good morning! Last night was intense, or actually it was this morning, but still. I figured I'll try to become lucid two days in a row, and it worked. I used some galantamine at a WBTB and the dream I had after that was one of the longest dreams I've ever had. First time ever that I actually didn't want to stay in the dream after becoming lucid.

      I'm in a couch with my brother and two of his friends. We're partying or something similar. I get up and walk around the place. We seem to be at some kind of convention, kinda like Dreamhack. I spot a crowd of people and decide to check out what's going on. "He beats them at chess while walking around!" a guy tells me and I can see a chess table and three guys playing. The younger one is walking around the table while he's playing. Apparently that's supposed to be very hard. The crowd cheers and I realise he's beaten them. I can tell his move was very clever. "You walked right into that one!" one of the guys in the crowd tells one of the losers.

      I start walking away from the table and suddenly I'm in a grocery store. I walk along the isles and find Monica standing by the freezers. "We should get something we can just snack on at night" I say and I've got pizza in mind. We check out several different kinds of pizza and similar things. I find a very cheap one. "2 kronor for a pizza is amazingly cheap" I say and show it to Monica. She agrees but the brand is something we've never seen before. A guy shows up and is looking for the same kind of food.


      The dream skips. I'm in the car with Monica on our way out of town. I spot a stable and know there's a supermarket just a kilometer behind it. I don't know how, but I make the car fly. It's very dark out but I imagine the place just as it looks like. I can see several streetlights and as we fly, the landscape gets clearer. We land outside of a small grocery store, just where I knew it would be. I go and get a ticket for the car. It expires in just two minutes. Weird. A girl working at the store comes up. "Don't worry, he never checks anyways" she tells us. "Ah damn, money well spent" I think. The car is making a very annoying sound.

      We check the car for a long time. We open different doors and close them, push all kinds of buttons but the beeping sound won't stop. My brother Martin comes up and shuts it off. We're just about to walk into the store when he grabs my arm. "Buy me two milky ways and some beer". I look at him and I'm getting angry. "When YOUR friends come to MY place, THEY buy ME stuff!" I yell at him. He disagrees and I leave him there. Entering the store I notice it's being renovated. All walls are grey and the floor aswell. I enter a big room and accidentaly kick away a golfball coming towards me. Two employee's are playing mini golf.

      "Hey, where is the place you buy food at?" I ask them. They laugh at the accident and points towards a few stairs across the large empty room. We walk across the room and down the stone stairs. We do not arrive at a grocery store, but a swimming hall. My family is there and so is my coworker Björn. They're swimming around a pillar and the water starts at the end of the stairs, there's no place to stand. I notice Björn's got swimming goggles and I put mine on too. They're blurring my vision alot, but I still keep them on when I jump in the water.


      The dream skips. I wake up in the dark. We're still in the swimming hall, but sleeping in different beds all around the room. The water is gone. I try to check my alarm clock, but alot of stuff is in the way. It's standing ontop of a TV in the dark and I make alot of noise as I clear the TV. "05.00". People start waking up. My brother Morgan is up, and so is my dad. Soon the lights turns on and everyone but me is up. My dad is standing by the entrance of the room. "My toe has cramps" his toe wiggles. My sisters and my mom wants to wake me up and starts harrassing me. I want to sleep some more so I can dream. "Get out!" I tell them.

      They start poking me in the mouth with nail files. My vision is split, and even though I've got my eyes closed, I can see myself on a monitor. I start biting the files they poke at me and bite off little pieces. They keep doing this and I can taste the files, they taste like licorice and they feel very unpleasant against my teeth. I finally get up and start writing down my dreams in my DJ on DV.

      I wake up. I get on the computer and onto the chat. I am about to write something like: "Omfg I just had the longest dream ever" but all I manage to type is a very long "-_-" smiley. I realise my DJ entry is there and I read something in spanish. Looks like a poem or something. I am confused and decide to take a walk. I've got a weak memory of just flying and I'm wearing a white shirt. I check my belt for the internet browser buttons. I press one and intend to get on a train site to check for train times. The load is way too long so I open a new window. Which makes me get another white shirt on. Just like internet explorer usually is, it is completely white (?). I walk down the road with my two shirts on, feeling weak and a bit dizzy. I stop at a sandbox for some reason.

      A girl clad in black down the road is coming towards me. She's wearing black leather and has a very "emo'ish" look. I look away for a second. When I look back, the girl is gone and replaced by a white cream cake. It's rolling down the road on wheels it seems, and just as it's next to me, the cake changes colour from white to dark purple. A second later the cake starts disintegrating and blows away in the wind in layers. A man shows up. "Hey, did you just see that?!" I ask him. "See what?" he tells me, and the second later, he also disintegrates and blows away in the wind.


      "Oh, I am still dreaming!?" I ask myself. This is getting too much. I'm standing outside of a very dark forest and I don't like the feeling of the dream anymore, I want to wake up. I start screaming ontop of my lungs, at first I can barely hear myself, but soon my voice is booming, "WAKE UUUUUUUUUUP!" I start floating upwards and I laugh a little at the entire scenario. I don't wake up right away, but I slowly start to.

      I can see my hand infront of me. I am completely paralyzed for a few seconds before I can move again. I get up.

      I wake up for real and do a RC right away.

      06.40-07.20: WBTB - Mantra: I am dreaming

      8.45: Short lucid MILD
      I'm by a lake with a few other people. A man, apparently very powerful, is standing infront of me and my friends. He tells us something and two huge green wings emerges from his back. Only one is fully stretched out though, but that's enough for him to take flight. He flies straight up, laughing. I can feel the wind picking up and I decide to follow him. I let the wind take hold of me and my two smaller wings and I start to fly. I fly around the lake two times in a wide circle just for the fun of it, I never get tired of the feeling.

      I position myself a few meters above the evil man. "Hmm, perhaps fire will work?" I ask myself as I realise his wings are made out of green paper. I imagine them catching fire and to my surprise, fist sized circles of fire form and eats through the paper in seconds. The man starts falling right away but so am I. We both crash into the water and I get a faint memory of being in the water earlier.
      I lose lucidity and suddenly we're having a "smoke break" on the dock with my two sisters.

      8.45: Insects
      I'm sitting at a table with my two sisters. I spot a cross spider spider to my left on the wall. It's curled up in its web and I blow some warm air on it to make it come to live. I know it isn't very aggressive and it fascinates me alot. It starts to crawl out and when I can fully see it, it's alot bigger than I first thought. We all shy away from it and a woman takes it in her hand. "Don't worry" she tells us. Her husband is there and she puts white glue on his head and face. She takes a wig and some fake beard and puts it on there. The glue drips down his face and they tell me their story.

      I feel like looking at the spider again. She tells me it's on the ground somewhere. I spot several spiders that looks just like it, but after a closer look, I can tell the difference. They aren't moving either. A cool bug comes running with one its mouth and I flick it away. My hands starts stinging and I notice a few fireants. I flick them away aswell and look where I'm standing. I'm in a fireants nest, and they're crawling up my boots. I shake them off and stomp my feet to prevent anymore from going up my legs.




      10.30: Party
      I'm at a big house by a lake. There's a party going on around me and they've put up tents. The sun is shining as I walk around the place. I spot a very hot girl in a yellow bikini. I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes off of her, but I force myself when her big latino boyfriend gives me a stare. I walk for a few meters and then turn around. Felix tells me that the girl was checking me out for a long time. "I don't want no trouble" I tell him. I get a text message, it's my dad.

      10.30: Party ended
      The dream doesn't skip, it's a new one. I'm at the same place, but the party has ended. It's dusk out and everything's very quiet. I know the world is about to change real fast, and I have to find some survival gear. My brother Morgan is there and I grab him. Some other boy, who looks like a tiny orange/brown alien shows up and I realise we have to take him with us. I chase him a bit, we all plunge into a pool and I help him up. Earning the trust of the alien boy, I can finally start looking for gear. I enter the house and my two sisters are on a couch. "Where is the gun?!" I ask them. They point at a box by a drawer.

      I open it and take out two guns. They're very heavy. Morgan grabs one and I tell him he can never, ever touch it. There's still ammo left in the clips, but I want some more. I rumage through the box and find a few keys, an army swiss knife, and sharp metal objects. All of a sudden, my vision changes. I can see the lake and I can hear someone on a radio. He's over the lake in the town and he's on his way over. I shoot with a mini-gun and he laughs. "That's gotta be heard halfway across town". An old man across the lake appears in the enormous hole I just blasted in his house. "You leave me alone you teenagers!" he yells at me, waving his shotgun.

      *I'm at a table and my sister Malin is singing. Her voice is amazing. When she's done I remember her being in a choir. "She's great at both singing, and drawing" I say.

      That's it! Awesome. My sisters were in almost all my dreams last night. They just came home from Egypt and I'm seeing them for the first time in a few weeks. Also why I dreamt of survival was because I thought for a while about it last night, what to buy and so on. Pretty amazing, perhaps thinking about it before bed would be even better? Inducing a dream that is. Gotta try that...

      Another awesome, higher-level lucid, but again I managed to completely forget about my dream goals. Although I did have fun with a fire/steel ball.
      I was in an airplane. However, this airplane was very spacious; the ceiling was at least twice as high as that of a normal airplane, and it was at least three times as wide. The flooring was hardwood and the seats were against the left and right side of the plane, facing towards the middle, which left a lot of space in the center for people to get up and walk around (the individual seats themselves were identical to those in a real airplane). The inside walls were the same, too: slightly beveled and off-white, with tiny rounded windows.

      The airplane was about forty feet long. One end of it just became a wall, but the other end was rather bizarre: it turned into a balcony that overlooked the inside of a house, more specifically the first floor. The square tiling of the lower level's floor was shiny, golden-colored. There was a set of stairs just wide enough for two people to walk down simultaneously, and it went straight down into a large room with the same gold tile flooring. I walked around for a bit and looked down the stairs. [B]I turned around again and suddenly became lucid. I walked towards the left side of the plane, to where a bunch of chairs were lined up against the wall, and looked out one of the small windows between the spaces of the chairs.

      Outside there were clouds and sky. The scenery had changed from the plane being a part of a house to it actually being in the air. I turned around and the plane was sealed up, no more house or stairs. I saw a curtain closed on that end, pale, darker maroon like some airplanes have up near the front to divide the passengers off from the captain's quarters. Then I looked back towards the chairs and backed up a bit, against the wall. I held my hand out, cupping it slightly, and expected a ball of fire to appear.

      I didn't get a ball of fire. Instead, I got an intricate ball made of flat steel triangle links. All the links were curling around each other and interlocking to form a steel ball. It looked like one of those three-dimensional puzzles that challenged the person to try taking it apart and putting it back together. At first it was tiny, but as it grew to the size of an apple within seconds, I could see the shape of the links better. I then envisioned fire appearing around it, and it did. It was a sort of fiery film that looked realistic, but trapped within an invisible sphere surrounding the links. The fire wouldn't come outwards. I pulled my hand back and shot the ball at the wall of the airplane, but as it flew straight through the air (not arcing like a ball), it grew smaller and smaller until it disappeared entirely. "Crap," I said, because I hoped it would have blasted a part of the plane. I didn't "expect" it to destroy part of the plane or visualize it, though, so that was probably why it didn't work.

      Then the dream faded away. I ended up having a false awakening where I attempted a DEILD, and I became stuck in what I believed was intense sleep paralysis. My eyes were closed, but I could somehow still see, and I felt like someone was typing with their fingers on my right arm, which was dropped over the edge of the bed. I changed my breathing pattern, hoping to escape the "sleep paralysis", and then I woke up for real in a completely different position, which confirmed I had really just been dreaming.

    5. #106. A Spark

      I just remembered this as I was walking home.

      May it be a light to you in dark places, when all other lights go out.

      The first time I woke up last night, I had such a feeling of contentment and happiness that it was unreal. I couldn't remember the dream that I had, but the feeling followed me throughout the day.

      In another dream, I was cradling a piece of wood in my hands. A little piece of the wood was on fire, but the rest wasn't catching. I had to keep the flame going.

      I order a DC to find me some kindling, so we can get the fire going properly. I maintain my focus on the spark, keeping the flame alive. The DC comes back with some bark and twigs, and I carefully set down my prize, and feed fuel into the fire.

      At one point, the spark goes out, but I will it back into existence.

      A Spark. Scare Factor: 1.

      I had such a great night, guys. Still, this only slightly counts as a drunk post.

      Happy feels like warm red dancing through the darkness.

      A couple weeks ago, I implemented a new rule: DC's aren't allowed to drive. Apparently, I'm one to talk.




      I decide to give up my job in Quickton. I'm never going to have enough money for this, so it's time to leave. I hop on a bus, going west.

      Calgary is on a terrorist alert; somebody tried to get into the States and do something bad. As such, travel into the States is practically cut off for the time being.

      I'm on a boat, out in the ocean. It's a small boat, and I'm just sitting on a bench holding my backpack. I might be drawing on my ridiculously oversize tablet. The captain comes up to me and says we're getting close to the path of my next ship, so I should pack up. He hands me a whole bunch of change to cover the fare for the next boat.

      I wander onto the second boat with my tablet and my backpack. I'm shown to my room. The room itself keeps changing. There are huge windows looking out into a hallway at first, and the whole hallway is covered in posters. Later, the windows look out over a hostel-style common room that I remember from another dream. I remember thinking that it would be really cool to have one of the rooms overlooking the common room on the second story.

      I step through the wall and grab a book from one of the shelves.

      "They're fucking cannibals! Close the door, close the fucking door!"

      This has happened before, I register dimly, we're on another loop. I'm too busy slamming the door on someone's fingers to notice. I kick them free and slam the door again. I'm turning the key on the ignition - Ben, why didn't you turn the car on while I was fighting - and barreling through the two dozen people in front of us. One hits the windshield, scrabbles for purchase, and goes sliding off as we pick up speed.

      We're on the highway to Regina. It's night. I'm panicked and trying to decide if I should pull over and calm down or keep driving as fast as I can.

      "Slow down," says my brother, "This isn't helping." We're fairly far away from the compound.

      I slow down to 110 clicks, but I'm still passing other vehicles. This shouldn't be a double lane highway, should it?

      My brother gives me a look.

      "Shut up," I say, "The speed limit is 110."

      The road is twisty and I'm not sure where the lanes are and I'm starting to get confused. Abruptly, the car takes a random turn to the left, and I'm in the ditch, driving through a field that doesn't feel much different than the road.

      We come to a stop on another highway, adjacent to the first.

      "Maybe we should go this way?" No response from my brother, so I put the car back in drive and start moving at a reasonable pace.

      The road ends. We go flying off of a cliff. I see everything from the third person, the camera angle far above us and looking down at the mountains below.

      This wouldn't happen in real life, I reason. This is obviously a dream. I remember making a car fly in one of my previous dreams, so I try to do that now.

      I'm alone, falling through the air without a vehicle. I've slowed my descent reasonably, and I land at the base of a cliff crawling with rock climbers.

      I ignore them. What were my lucid goals again? Oh yeah, pyrokinesis. I bring my hands together like I'm holding a ball between them, and slowly bring them apart. Nothing's happening.

      I take a deep breath, focus on all of the rage and anger and fear that I felt in the previous dream. I bring my hands apart, and this time a chain of beads of fire forms between them. I wave my hands and the fire dissipates.

      Huh. Apparently it's easier to summon fire when you're actually being threatened. Good to know.

      I grab a cardboard box wedged in the rocks behind me and try to do the same thing. The cardboard smoulders on one edge, but doesn't catch fire.


      I climb up the cliff face and sit on one of the ledges. The place has shifted into an immense cavern, and sunlight is streaming in through the many entrances. The rock varies from pure white marble to pale grey granite.

      I see a pack of wolves in the distance. They're beautiful. They're on the same level as me. They get closer, and one comes over and sniffs at me. I growl at him, and he dances back, cautious. He comes closer again.

      We're standing at the ground level of the cave, trying to communicate. The wolf catches onto English quickly, and soon we're having a conversation that I can't remember.

      At the same time, we hear someone approaching in the distance.

      "It's a hunter," I tell the wolf. "You should run. Take the rest of your pack with you."

      Suddenly, I'm a lot younger, and won't be able to stand up to the hunter.

      The hunter shows up and realizes that his quarry got away. He gives me a ride back to town.

      "This place is totally empty," he tells me, "You might not be able to get a ride out for a while."

      "No worries." I eye the empty stretch of highway, remember what someone said on the forums. I hold my thumb out, and someone shows up within seconds.

      I climb into the car with a bunch of girls - there's one seat left - and we drive off to wherever we're going. I try to pay attention to the roads so I can remember how we got there.

      A dream about a bunch of different worlds. Apparently Aslan kicked everybody (including the animals) out of Narnia. Now talking animals and fairies and Faeries are wandering from world to world, trying to find somewhere to live. So am I, for that matter.

      I knock on the door. It opens to a short old woman, who asks what my name is.

      "I'm Rory."

      "No, you're not," she says, sounding angry. Apparently there's a prophecy about a girl named Rory.

      "I'm Rory, but I'm a guy?"

      "Oh, well, that's okay then." She invites me inside.

      There are fairies in cages. I can see the daring rescue from here.

      ---

      I'm Harry Dresden, and I'm in a city... somewhere. I remember that I was looking for ways to travel in dreams, and I wonder if I can use the Ways through Faerie.

      I'm reading the new Dresden Files book. My mom is in the room.

      "Oh, come on!" I say. My mom looks up, questioning.

      "Everyone is Michael's vessel. Dean Winchester was Michael's vessel. In that last thing I read, Lucifer was Michael's vessel. Now Dresden? This is getting ridiculous."

      Besides, Dresden already got possessed by an angel.

      My Driving. Scare Factor: 4.

      The Ways might be an interesting way of getting around, though. Dissolve the dream, wander through the Void, find what I'm looking for.

      (The Void being that blackness that seems to be behind every dream.)

    7. The Hidden Blade

      I am walking around a city at dusk. I go between a cluster of big old apartment building and go into a small shack. It turns out to be a big building and a dance party inside. There are flashing lights everywhere.
      There are some DDR machines on the side, and after doing one dance I realize I am better than some of the "professionals" here.

      I am in my room. As usual I climb out of my window and while climbing down try to make a hidden blade appear on my left hand. It works only half. The bracer is too see-through and the blade itself is too short. The scene changes to one that slightly reminds me of Jerusalem streets in AC.

      I go out testing my hidden blade on random DCs and am a bit surprised that it actually works.

      A fragment of me ripping off a huge poster and crumpling it into a ball. I throw it to the ground and now there is a huge crumpled paper on the ground. I think that I should try setting it on fire. I snap my fingers near the ball and see with unusual vividness (and slowness too, actually) how sparks from my snap fly, how a fire forms and catches on the ball quickly enveloping the whole paper in flames. Imagine this in slow-motion, cause that's how I saw it and see it before my eyes now. I think while looking at the ball of fire, that this just maybe could count as the task of the month, since I remembered about it straight after performing pyrokinesis.

      I am in my grandma's garden. I am chasing someone with the intention of killing. (Goddess knows why...) Anyways...
      So I'm running down to the forest part, materializing the hidden blade on the way. I see the guy and now that I'm closing up on him. He is now over the fence. I jump on the fence and from there, jump on the guy and push the blade through his neck from behind.

      I'm at a track for horse-races, in the back. There are trailers around, and stalls as well. The place is deserted.

      I don't know what clued me in to the fact that this was a dream. I think on that for a second, then shrug it off. I've been meaning to try flying. I jump into the air and swoop around for a bit. I remember to try to contain my excitement, but -

      New dream. I'm probably ten years old, fighting a friend who has decided to be a witch. It's all in fun, and I trace sigils into the windows and tell her she can't get inside. In retaliation, she sets a bulletin board on fire. All of my photographs go up in flames, and I smother the fire with blue energies that aren't a tiny bit wet.

    9. #12. Homicidal Robots

      I'm at school in Halifax. Now I'm going to school in a mall in Halifax. I have some studio space near the entrance of the mall. It's like a stand at a farmer's market, all open. As usual, I work by spreading all of my stuff over every surface, even infringing on the space of other vendors. Temporarily, I promise.

      Now I'm going to class in the mall, but I need a specific kind of button for a project, and I can't find them. Big buttons that you'd find on a velvet jacket? Someone mentioned I should try Buttons R' Us or something, on the second floor. I think I have a vague idea of where it should be, so I'll try it out. I take the stairs, but it's all confusing and I don't know where everything is.

      And then I spot the robots. At first, I think they're statues, but they're moving around, each of them patrolling a little corner of their own. They seem to be placed at major exits and intersections in the mall. This... could be a problem.

      I'm young, maybe ten years old. I'm in a church, sitting in the back row and threading a leather string through the covers of the bibles/hymn books stacked in piles beside me. The other people are being led in the lord's prayer, but I can always say I didn't know it. I'm so engrossed in my work that I don't notice that the service is over and the priest is standing nearby. My friend who dragged me here is sitting beside me, and her mother is in one of the aisles, looking on disapprovingly. And this feels like deja-vu.

      It's a surprise when I realize that the priest isn't mad. He's curious, more like, wondering what I've been doing. At one point, I show him that I can lift the books without touching them. Up, up, up, and they fall to the floor. He isn't angry. He tells me that I'm having trouble holding them steady, right? To hold them in one place, I need to harness the potential energy that they have while being held up. They're at rest; they just need to stay that way. I try again, this time doing as he says, and it works beautifully.

      I'm somewhat aware that I look like Jubilee. I'm back in the mall, surrounded by Sentinels. I still need to get to class, but somehow that seems like less of a priority at the moment.

      At one point, the sentinels are on high alert, and I hear a transmission over the radio, telling all mutants to either get out of the mall, or find refuge in one of the stores (apparently a safe-zone). Not everyone can hear the announcement, I realize. I've been using the stairways that don't seem to be guarded. I spot a Subway nearby.

      On the way, I notice that a bunch of the buttons I've been looking for have spilled across the hallway. I decide that picking them up would attract attention, because this is somehow a trap. I discretely pull several buttons from the floor and place them in the pocket of my long jacket, before realizing that this could have been a trap as well, and I probably won't be able to use the buttons for my project.

      I make my way to the Subway, even if I'm not hungry, and realize that I don't have enough cash (only change from the last dream), and I'll have to use my debit card. (Wait, I might have a ten.) I stay in the Subway after ordering, until I get bored and annoyed and decide to take out one of the Sentinels on my own.

      I manage to separate and corner one away from the rest, outside. It tells me it has a picture of me in its memory, and I'll be hunted now anyway. I realize that's true, so I tell it that I've been wearing a mask the whole time. And now I have been.

      Fire's supposed to work well against them for some reason, but my pyrokinesis is on the fritz (read: weak). I'm joined by a boy of about ten who fancies himself a superhero, and helps me cause damage to the thing. It's not fighting back much. I lift the Sentinel about ten meters into the air and let it crash back to the ground. The boy and I then use our limited fire-powers to melt the Sentinel's internal systems and then go investigate it's car.

      We find something surprising, and decide it would be a great idea to go back into the mall and pretend to be a part of an anti-mutant demonstration UNTIL THE TIME IS RIGHT TO STRIKE!

    10. Pyrokinesis

      I was in a friend's house. The floor throughout the entire place was dark brown hardwood, polished nicely, and the walls were beige. It looked like a fairly modern house; the living room contained two dark burgundy leather sofas and a loveseat, and a brick fireplace, slightly misshapen. I was walking around looking for my cat, Meepy. I found her eventually though, which was good. I was picking up large vases and even the couches looking for her, and found her underneath a large tan vase, more round than tall. How could she be hiding under a vase? Maybe she flattened herself out. I dunno. It didn't occur to me that this was strange for a while, but then finally I became lucid.

      I decided to finally attempt the Advanced Task for June 2010, creating and controlling fire, also known as pyrokinesis. This would be easy, I knew, because I had done it before. I used my usual spin-around-to-summon technique to summon a cigarette, sizzling on the hardwood, and then used telekinesis to make it float in the air. Just to have a bit of fun, I sat down cross-legged as the cigarette floated up, and I began to float too. It took a bit of effort to keep myself up, but it worked. Both I and the object were floating now, and I was still floating as I held my hands out, pulling a stream of fire from the cigarette, reeling it in using a pulling gesture. It touched my hands and looked more orange than red now, and also looked more like a ribbon. Regardless, I completed the task.


      I eventually lost lucidity, going on to sit on the ground, petting Meepy. After doing this for a little bit, I went to where the fireplace was to find someone sitting on the brick, crying. He looked up and I realized it was one of my friends. "Why are you sad?" I asked, sitting down beside him. "I don't know," he told me.

    11. "Not My Fault"

      Morning of May 16, 1971. Sunday.

      In my dream, it seems to be early morning, about an hour before dawn. My mother and I are standing between two of the buildings at my elementary school, near the inward corner of one. We are the only people in the area. I am unsure why we are here, though I consider may relate to completing information in my school records. I am aware that it is the weekend and that school will not be in session today. We are looking toward the south.

      I see a church about three blocks away. (In reality, the school building would be blocking such a view.) I can see its belfry in the semidarkness.

      A big yellow bolt of lightning comes down from the sky, on the right of the tall church belfry. (It has an unrealistic appearance, as if from a cartoon.) It strikes it near the top, and flames begin to consume the tower.

      My mother glares down at me as if I had caused the event by way of pyrokinesis and the ability to control the weather and guide lightning. Her silent accusation increases my focus and the vividness of my dream. (The presence of fire increases the awareness of my conscious self identity.)

      “It’s not my fault,” I say, somewhat hesitantly (with a hint of self-doubt), and I remain unsure if my mother believes me.



      The school setting is relevant to relearning one’s way back to the conscious self identity as in waking life. (This correlates with the subliminal desire to ignite the conscious self awareness for lucidity.) My mother is present by my side as the witness (RAS mediation), as she is the one who usually woke me during early childhood and my school years. The lightning is neural energy that increases awareness in the waking process of which also sometimes serves as a lucidity trigger by liminal intent. The belfry serves as an emerging consciousness representation (rising above the dream), and fire is consciousness.

      Ultimately, this dream is an augmented factor of the “lighting a candle” metaphor to establish lucidity and dream state awareness. Dream control and lucidity are not dependent on each other contrary to popular misconception.

      I believe that I have coherently explained every factor of this dream and its causes and meaning as the emerging consciousness initiation and non-lucid dream control. There was also influence from the Nancy Sinatra song “Lightning’s Girl.” That developed into associations with dream control, as I had imagined controlling lightning as relevant to the song (though this was a childhood misunderstanding as to what the song meant).
