    1. Air-show in a bus

      by , 01-23-2012 at 08:26 AM
      NON-LUCID LUCID

      Identification: (No. 61) Air-show in a bus
      Time Recorded: 7:30, 02-01-012
      Genre: Sci-fi
      Character(s): Daniel D., Melanie O.
      Method(s): Not recorded
      Lucid: Yes (DILD)

Daniel and I are standing on the footpath beside the road that comes past our house. we see first a single flying speed-boat, then another, both had a loud engine roar. Next came an extremely large airship, powered by it's two very large (e.g. 1km wingspan) and powerful red wings. It had a very synchronised and strong down stroke. At this point it became apparent that we were watching a Japanese air-show. Next, a young, anamatronic Japanese girl walks past us, followed by another robot girl who was fatter. It stops and looks at me and tried to lean in to give me a kiss. I use my hands to push her away. As I do this, Melanie appears from behind Daniel, and says to me "did you just...?"
I find myself climbing up a rope in a place that is called 'hell'. The floor is red and there are flashing lights everywhere. I somehow know that the Japanese are responsible for the transformation of this place.
I believe I have just woken up from my sleep on the bus. Somehow I suspect that this is a false awakening. I urge myself to reality check, but before I get the chance I become lucid. I start to think about whether I'm going to wake up, and to my surprise I have remained asleep. I wonder what I should do. Because the dream still doesn't feel very realistic, I decide to try touching some objects. All I can think of is touching the glass window, so I lean my head against it - it is cold. I look at the bus driver and the sides of the bus. It still feels very unrealistic. I get the sensation that I am drooling, but I don't do anything about it because I fear a distraction might make me loose my lucidity. The bus stops and I get off. I go inside a shed with some people inside. I'm not sure why. but they are hanging large spiders (the size of dinner plates) up on the ceiling in two rows. At the end of each row are some dead apes, with their arms hanging down. Both men and women are picking out the largest spiders, and taking them down. I watch one lady unhook an ape and hold it's dead body.

    2. Directed Fantasy

      by , 07-26-2011 at 02:15 PM
Due to a strange series of mini-sleeps, fueled by various proportions of caffeine and ethanol, dreams last night are loosely defined as guided imagery.

I first imagined two guys named Jerry and Garcia, sitting at a card table smoking some cigars. Garcia commented how the smoke from their cigars was lingering, so Jerry whipped out a pistol and shot the glass out of the window, for some ventilation. Then a bird flew through the window with a long scroll from the King. It was too small to read, but fortunately the other side had the same message in Braille, in which Garcia was fluent. The King said his son was sad, and since he very much looked up to Jerry and Garcia as heroes, the King wished that they would visit and talk to his son. They consent.

On the way up the King's mountain, they pass Milton, the eternal prisoner. He offers his thoughts for a penny. Garcia flips him a coin, and Milton explains that animals roam the land free, and sometimes animals even come from far away lands, but they continue to roam free, unlike Milton, who was discovered from a far away land and imprisoned for life. He continues to appeal to Jerry and Garcia but they turn away to meet the King.

Once at the castle, they meet with tall, heavily armed guards, replete with red armor, helmets, strong lances, and boots. They only take one in at a time, leaving Jerry at the gate. Jerry, as if knowing the drill, runs along the castle wall, finds a place to scale, throws a guard off the tower, and sneaks towards the King's hall. There he finds Garcia on his knees in front of the King, about to be injected with a syringe. Jerry leverages his surprise attack to redirect the needle into the King's neck. The King bellows, and immediately begins to transform into an enormous dark beast with glowing eyes and crown. The guards scatter while Jerry and Garcia take cover from the King. While escaping, they ally with a guard, and find the chemical room, where this venom is being refined.

      THE END OF THAT ONE!

The other one was based on a friendship of mine. As a "large enough evil" approached Earth, my dear friend Madeline discovered latent powers that resonated with the power of the evil, and woke up with the sense of a mission. She found she could read people's thoughts and future, and she was also gifted with fire. Using her foresight, she roamed the city to find a partner that would help tame this great evil -- she eventually discovers that a partnership with Chris, although not ending happily, would save the world. Her foresight shows that toward the end of their journey, Chris' attachment to her would be his own ruin. However, it is the closest hope.

A few scenes of their partnership -- while battling tremendous evils, Chris discovers powers of metal, like those of Magneto. A scene shows us Madeline charging his great fiery powers, while Chris defends her with a great iron shield. As the behemoth attacks, infinite particles of iron come together at the point of his strike to defend Chris and Maddie from his rage. It also shows a blade of metal dart from the ground into Chris' hand, passing through their assailant's heart along the way. As it slips through, the beast drops lifeless.

This sci-fi story was built with a plot twist, in which Chris evolves along the way, and is able to break his attachment to Madeline before the fateful event. Things become murky here -- Chris may have to destroy Maddie, but why her foresight would not prepare her for this, I know not!

As for actual spontaneous dreams, I don't know -- I recall my cheap aviators being a little bent, and being embarrassed in front of a girl. Don't nobody mess with my cheap aviators!

--- Oh! I remembered an actual dream! In Boone, my car didn't start, so I visited Bill's Garage. By this point I was becoming friendly with the guy who kept fixing my car, so I tried to make conversation about what was wrong with my car, and the guy smiled understandingly and said "we'll figure it out." I said out loud that yes, I was probably too tired to understand it now. In my living room, meanwhile, was Cameron or Will Franke or both, something about guitars, blah....

    3. Can't Help You Son, Space be Void

      by , 04-27-2011 at 01:01 PM
I am captain of a rogue spaceship. Our crew is on the run from interplanetary authorities. The walls of the ship are gleaming white and the floor is white tile with black diamond grout pattern. I am taking a routine tour of my ship and visiting the ship's technician. He works in an empty room the size of a large banquet hall. We wear white jumpsuits and dull green rubber shoes. He starts an argument with me. About a week prior we lost a crewman who was working outside on the hull to a flash meteor storm. The crewman was separated from the ship's tether and sent flying into the void. The technician is adamant that we find this crewman and I have to convince him that the poor sop is long dead by this point. Our technician doesn't want to accept this grim reality but I know I have to make the tough decision. I touch the middle finger on my right to my right palm and speak into my wrist. I say "Show him".

A large wall flashes from white to black and video of the event comes up. We see the crewman in a deep space work suit using a large blowtorch with a green flame on a gleaming white panel in the black of space. He is floating about two feet from the ship connected by a white nylon rope tied around his waist. Out of nowhere a large red rock flies into the screen from the left, smashing into the crewman and knocking him away. The camera pans to follow and we see the worker spin out of control until he is a speck and then nothing. I look away from the screen and the ship's technician is crying.
    4. Generic Sci-Fi dream

Astrid from Fringe helps me and some others escape from somewhere out in the desert, but then she is chased onto a plane and leaves us. Back in the "safehouse" I confess my love to P but kind of like someone else. Actually as I confess I am cuddling with another girl, who in my memory looks very similar to P. On the day we're supposed to leave our compound I try and use the bathroom but the seat of the toilet won't go up all the way and the ceiling is way too low. I also notice my pet dog's feet under the stall, he's using the toilet! As I leave I find out the house is on fire and the fire department is here, they try to write us up for letting Bear go to the bathroom inside. I try to dissuade him but I have to go!

I fly off towards the city which is like a video game, in a circle and in a could haze of fog with buildings sticking up. People in uniforms shoot at me in the city and I shoot back and fly around, taking their weapons and ammo, like a video game. I realize the people dressed as old colonial Englishmen are on my side, but they don't really do anything. Eventually I meet up with Astrid in a warehouse/hanger, but we're cornered by the lead bad guy (who is a girl) and try to explain that Astrid is not a mastermind. Then this grey Alien attacks, the bad guy's gun does nothing but highlight's the alien's screens on it's phone so we all have to run, squeeze through open windows, run up stairs and it's still gaining on us so I wake my self up.

Upon awakening I'm thinking that this thing is smarter, faster and stronger than both the Alien and Predator combined! (Stronger than a Predalien?)

    5. First lucid dream! YAY!

by , 11-02-2010 at 01:35 PM (Awesomeness's quest for lucidity)
Real life Dream Lucid Dream sign
For me to remember, dreams are 067300, lucid dreams are the color below blue, #4169e1, and dream signs are the light purple, which is up one and left one from blue, #483d8b.

I lucid dreamt today! Oh my gosh! This has increased my will to lucid dream ten fold!

      Lucid dream
All I remember was I was in a white room (this dream wasn't very vivid at all) when suddenly I became lucid! I was so excited I started to feel the dream falling apart. It's a strange feeling. I felt like there was an aching heat in me (but it wasn't a bad feeling) and I was slightly disoriented.

Normally when a dream fades from me, it's different. Usually when my dreams lose stability my REM cycle is ending, and I will start to become intensely disoriented, and fall to the ground. Everything in my vision will smear together and fade to white. I guess since my dream lost stability for a different reason, it felt different.

I thought of what to do from my experience on the forums and the only thing I could think to do was rub my hands together. I don't even remember seeing my hands, (maybe it was because my dream was so unstable) but I did so and things improved a little. It might have lasted ten more seconds because of that. I was so happy and thought to myself 'I'm aware that I'm dreaming!' until I woke up at 3 something AM.

I thought in my head "I WILL remember this dream!" over and over, and went back to sleep.

      Sci-fi dream
I remember none of this dream but it was sci-fi in theme.

When I woke up at 8 AM, I did remember this dream, but not the lucid dream. I started thinking all about it in my head. Then I thought, 'Wait a second...' and then remembered my lucid dream earlier that night and got really excited. In my excitement I completely forgot the sci-fi dream, but who cares? I remembered my lucid dream!

Last night changed my general beliefs of dreaming in these ways:
      • Lucid dreaming isn't impossible for me!
      • People lucid dream many times before they finally remember one- as you can see here I almost forgot my "first" lucid dream.
      • The above means that dream recall might not improve your lucid dream count because of recognizing dream signs more, but simply because you remember more of your lucid dreams! (This is just an idea, and might not be true)
      • I had an idea a while ago that remembering dreams is like following a train of thought. It seems to me that recollection of dreams seems to never be put in short term memory. When I began to think about something else, I completely forgot my dream, and that might be because the dream was just something I was thinking about, not something in my memory. This could be why most people remember their dreams in the morning, but as five minutes pass you forget it. (This is just an idea, and might not be true)

    6. Flying Bus Crash

      by , 10-12-2010 at 01:11 PM (exdreamer's Dream Journal)
I was on some kind of flying bus or other multi-passenger transport vehicle. Outside it was dark and stormy. The vehicle was flying over a city. It looked pretty run down -- a very dystopian sci-fi vibe.

I realised we were heading straight into the centre of a storm. It was like a hurricane and epic thunder storm combined. I knew it was dangerous and started shouting at whoever was driving to avoid the storm. It was too late though. The vehicle was shaken and vast amounts of water were pouring in to it, filling it up.

Mostly everyone was knocked unconscious. Only myself and another guy were alright. I told him to help me open the back window. The vehicle was still flying and had passed through the storm but was almost full of water and heading towards the ground. We opened the window and I pulled out some kind of breathing apparatus and swap through the vehicle waking people up.

I was telling them that they had to go and jump out of the window because we would crash. It seemed like it was somehow the safer option? I came across N, an old enemy from school. I was tempted to leave him to his death but decided it was wrong and saved him. Most of the other people on in the vehicle were people I knew but I can’t quite remember the specifics.

We must have all survived because we were know in a deserted city centre. Everything was so brown and dirty. The storm could be seen off in the distance, it looked like a scary destructive force yet really beautiful and natural. I was worried that it was heading in our direction. I was talking with someone and they disagreed with me saying that it would move off another way. It suddenly began to move at a rapid pace to the right of my view and was far enough away to not worry about.

There was a girl with me. She was really beautiful but not someone I know from reality. She was either my girlfriend or someone I was in a sort-of relationship with. I felt like I trusted her a great deal.

I found myself sitting with some people talking about what we should do. I said that we should go to a nearby town to look for something -- possibly other people or supplies, it wasn’t clear. I was told I had to take someone with me. I said I would take the girl, but the idea was shot down for some reason. It was commented that I trusted her too much. I insisted and it was agreed except that T, an old school friend, would have to come wit me. I didn’t like the idea because I didn’t trust him. I also knew that T wasn’t his real name. I considered him to be a slippery character that kept changing his identity. He was with some random girl who laughed in a knowing slightly sinister way that made me feel uneasy.

I went to find the girl from earlier. She was sleeping in a make-shift shelter made of road signs. I touched her exposed belly gently and woke her softly. She smiled and I stroked her arm. I said I was sorry to wake her but we were going to scout out a nearby town and that it’d be good to spend some time together.
    7. But I Don't Even Like Star Wars

      i Inner Awareness, a Action, f Form, c Context

I was at my deceased grandmother's house with J and S ( c ). We were going to watch all six Star Wars movies twice over, and we did ( c ). My deceased aunt was there too, just milling around and giving us food ( c ).

When we were finished I couldn't find my shoes. I was angry that someone had stolen them ( c ).

My parents were there and told me to get in the car and forget about my shoes. I carried a giant cardboard tie-figher outside ( a,f ). Instead of a car my parents had a strange thing that was like a tie-fighter wing ( c ). We had to get inside it, but it didn't make sense because it was pretty flat. The frame could be moved around to let people get inside, which I did followed by my dad then my mum ( f,a ). Then my dad closed it and it shrunk back into a flat shape with us somehow still inside... ( f,c )

Like the title says. I don't even like Star Wars, so it's really weird that I would dream about it.
    8. Virtual Universe

      by , 07-14-2010 at 04:43 PM (exdreamer's Dream Journal)
Key: Non-Lucid, Lucid, Commentary/Notes, Hypnagogic Hallucinations

I awoke in a dense rainforest. The plant-life glistened as though it had just recently been raining. It was beautiful. Then I realised, I didn't know where or who I was.

I looked around and saw members of the Voyager crew. Ah yes, I too was a member of the crew. But where were we?

Thinking about it now, this dream bears some striking similarities with a certain Star Trek: Voyager episode. Can't say I've watched it recently though, so it's odd that I would dream of a similar scenario.

Someone explained that we were trapped in a virtual reality. Not only that, but the virtual reality represented an entire virtual universe, larger even than our own. I found the prospect both daunting and exciting. If the view of the rainforest in front of me was indicative of the beauty and realism of the rest of the virtual universe, I certainly would want to see more of it.

There were many questions floating around in my head. Can we get out? If so, how? Should we even bother? Why are we trapped here? How did we even get here? I contemplated the idea of a virtual universe some more as I watched the rainforest before me. It all seemed so real.

There was an invisible barrier just behind us. It lead back in to reality. On the other side was a room. It was sealed. Perhaps just the entry point?

The next thing I knew we were under attack by Klingons. I didn't know if they were real or part of the virtual reality, but I knew they were trying to kill us. We fought with them and came out victorious. There were only a few of them. They explained that they too had awoken in this virtual reality just a few miles to the west of our location. They returned to the west, presumably to the rest of their people.

A moment later some other humans appeared from the rainforest. They wanted us to go with them to where they were living. They were dressed very plainly in neutral colours.

We went with them and they brought us to what appeared to be some kind of temple or tomb. It was made from stone and had detailing done with small red stones. I was standing next between Tom Paris and Kim and we all exchanged a glance as though to say... 'Ok, this is weird.'

The people were beckoning us to follow them around the structure to the other side. We did so and there was a stone casket. They began to remove the stone slab on top of it and when asked what they were doing they told us that they were releasing Hathor. I panicked. I shouted that Hathor is a Goa'uld and would immediately try and take a host! The Goa-uld symbiote came flying out of the casket. The realised that since this was a virtual reality that it might not be able to take control of any of us. It seemed I was right because the symbiote disappeared in the air with a kind of red de-digitising effect. Panic over.

Mixing some Stargate SG-1 with your Star Trek dreams can never be a bad thing, right?

Captain Janeway was pretty miffed about everything. I remember looking at Tuvok and he just had an intrigued look on his face, as you would expect.

Finally I contemplated more about the nature of the virtual universe. I was torn between the desire to explore it and the desire to be back safely in reality.

    9. "Don't go out there...please..."

      by , 06-08-2010 at 10:43 PM
This new Dream Journal system seems pretty cool. Time to test it out by posting a couple of my favorite dreams.

      "Don't go out there...please..."

Now this was a pretty sweet dream, or was it a nightmare?

Right so, was a girl in this dream. It started off with me and this girl inside this small room. She pointed to a door and told me not to go out there. I didn't ask why. Also, it was set in the future, I say this because there were these little robots. Like cleaning robots and helper robots. They didn't play much of a role though...

Anyway, we were in this room. After she told me not to leave, we just kind of sat around and talked and read books. That all went by fast though, like in a movie. Then we sat next to each other and we did something (I think I accidentally touched her boob) and then we started to have sex. This also went by fast, and after it was over with I fell asleep inside the dream.

When I awoke, the door was opened, and she was gone. I looked out the door into a hallway that was made of like bathroom tiles. The only light that was in the hallway was coming from the room I was in. I somehow obtained a flashlight. I wanted to find my female friend, so I turned on my light and headed out. I entered a room that looked like a small kitchen (like the ones in restaurants). The place was a mess. Like someone wrecked it. The place was all grimy and messy.

Everything was dark and scary, but I kept going forward. Then I heard a small crash behind me. I flung around and there was a small cleaning robot thing that ran into a bucket. I guess it was following me.

I turned around and looked around the kitchen some more. I turned around and noticed some blood on the walls and floor leading out of the kitchen.

Unfortunately, I woke up after this. I wanted to find my female friend
Honestly wish this dream lasted longer.
