    1. Bus Driving, Kingslands, and Runescape Desert Quests

      by , 06-19-2013 at 04:21 PM
06-19-2013 -- [This may have all been one dream or two or three that kind of flowed together. Either way, it works, so I am listing it as one dream.] I am in Buena Park near the mall, trying to walk to McDonald's to get some food, and mom is here catching a bus, so I just stop to kind of say hello. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people here, and when the bus stops, I am caught up in the crowd and kind of forced aboard. I don't have quite enough money for the fare and am afraid of getting in trouble, but the bus driver doesn't even seem to notice, and isn't worried about it.

I end up standing at the front of the bus, holding on to the railing and talking to the driver, though I am afraid he is going to be mad at the distraction. But he is explaining how they now routinely have security people on the bus watching everything else, so all the driver has to worry about is driving, and he can manage to talk to the passengers easily enough. I'm just kind of soaking it all in, learning what I can since I will soon be a bus driver myself. We just drive along, talking, though in the back of my mind I know I need to get off the bus soon, since I never planned to get on in the first place.

But somehow at some point the driver changes, and it is now a kind of large black woman (think Ros from Night Court or thereabouts) who is very late on the route, (like an hour or more) and is really stressing out about it. She has been ordered to just drive as fast as she can without stopping to let passengers on or off, so she can catch up with the route, which means I'm not able to get off the bus for quite a while. She finally makes it to Bolsa (which IIRC was actually out toward the beach, but in the dream is somewhere down near the Mall of Orange), which has her back on schedule, and we're finally able to exit, but she seems to take great joy in telling me there are no McDonald's in the area to eat at.

So I get off the bus, and find myself wondering how I am ever going to get back to Orlando, especially since I am in Washington or one of the Carolinas (no idea how, dream switch) but I find myself standing outside a fenced in back yard and listening to voices I recognize. Turns out I have found myself standing outside the back yard of the Kingslands. I can hear Chyanne and Cheryl talking, and soon Chy's mom appears and is walking toward me to let me into he back yard. Oddly enough, there seems to be no house, but she leads me down a ladder or some stairs into what almost seems to be a sort of storm cellar, which is where they live, now.

There are several puppies around, jumping all over people and licking them, and part of the discussion is about how they just got the kids backs (somehow in the dream they were taken away for a while, because of the overcrowding in the cellar, but it seems the issue was eventually resolved), and so they are running around, too. Chy is talking about how it happened because they were put under some sort of curse, and she is preparing a ritual to break the curse. It requires building a fire in the fire place with 42 sticks, and I am helping to put the sticks into the fireplace. I've just got the last of the 42 in there when Shane (is that right? Been a while) comes up with more sticks trying to add them. I try to stop him, but Chy explains there needs to be at least 42 sticks, but more will not hurt.

After that is finished, Chyanne and Cheryl are getting ready to go to work, and they work as seers, trying to tell the future for folks. But they are being sent to work in a small desert community, an area very different from where they usually work. As they are getting ready, Joel arrives home, and he is complaining about how his work has been forcing him to work next to a shoe store for the last few days, and today he almost caved in and went binge shoe shopping, an addiction he has been fighting against, as it caused their last bankruptcy. We're trying to convince him he doesn't need hundreds of fancy pairs of shoes. Leave that for the women.

So soon we're off at the desert, where the seers are somehow trying to stop and capture a gang of crooks. The whole thing is turning into a live version of Runescape, and this is part of a quest involving a lost desert that is separate from the Kharidian desert. We have to capture these thugs and take them back to the Kharidian desert, where we'll help set up a new 'gang' to challenge the current ones in the desert. It seems kind of like a human version of the See No Evil quest, where you reestablish monkeys in the desert. I can remember bits of the sawmill Runescape dream I had, and I think that quest somehow helped lead to this one. I've already done these, but I am glad to help my friends in completing these quests as well.

Oddly enough, the person who is going to lead this new gang is John Barrowman, who is a new Runescape player, though he hopes to advance well in the game. But oddly, he took the acting job of leading this gang without realizing it was part of a Runescape quest, so I get to explain it to him. He's been given a script to work with, and I am glancing at it, and it is actually a sort of a Runescape encyclopedia, about three inches thick, filled with hundreds of pages of small print, explaining the entire history, content, and future plans for the desert storylines in Runescape.

There are two vans that are going to be used to transport the newly caught thugs back to the main desert, and John is driving one of them. Somebody from the Buena Park First Church of the Nazarene is driving the second one, and as we are getting ready to drive off, my friend Dale walks up. He explains he has been hired to be the 'security' person to keep an eye on the passengers for this trip. He also doesn't realize that this is all part of a Runescape quest, and I don't have the chance to tell him before we begin the trip.

So we're driving back to the main desert (or perhaps the Church in Buena Park, not sure which), and about halfway through the trip, Dale joins me in our van. He also has the big, thick encyclopedia, but he hasn't had any chance to read it. I am explaining how this is all a Runescape quest to both him and John Barrowman, and trying to get them ready for what is coming. I've been poking around in the thing, and realize that this quest will lead directly into the wonderful quest that I dreamed about a few months ago, that involve setting up the new gang, and in the process, infiltrating a temple in the desert, dedicated to sexual adventures. (That was a very pleasant dream, though I don't know if it ever got posted.) I'm thinking to myself that John will greatly enjoy that quest, and also probably be very popular in it, but I am wondering how much Dale is not going to like possibly being involved in the one and only x-rated Runescape quest.

We're nearly there (at the corner of Orangethorpe and Stanton, I think) when we have a blowout on the vehicle we're driving, and John pulls us into a service station where they can change the tire. The vehicle we're driving has changed from a van to either a bus or a big rig (or possibly one of those odd buses that is a big rig) and the thing is being jacked up very high to work on it. Oddly, though the blown tire is removed easily, getting the replacement tire on the rim seems to involve having all the new thugs hold the tire against the rim, and then run it as hard and as fast as they can against a wall, trying to force the tire onto the rim. Very odd method of trying to do it.

06-19-2013 -- [Almost forgot this one, then it popped back into mind.] I find myself at Fullerton College in the 500 building, in a very weird situation. It is half college, half high school. I am both attending the school as a student, and getting ready to do some teaching. Outside the building, I run into Julie Davey, my journalism professor, and she is both attending as a student and teaching as well.

Part of the high school thing is a daily class schedule, as opposed to the M-W-F and T-Th style schedules, and there is a math class that is first period, and I am hoping to make it on time and manage to pass the class for once, but almost immediately, I find myself with Julie as she is about to lead us in to a tour of the remodeled Hornet Newspaper office (I've dreampt of the remodeling several times, recently), except I look away for a moment and have fallen way behind, as she leads new students through different parts of the tour.

I am standing by Julie's office, while she is down the hall showing off the basic journalism classroom (518, was it?), before she comes back to the Hornet office (which is the expanded room 512). Though the main room of the Hornet is about the same size as always, the small rooms all have doors and are much larger than they used to be. Julie's office is also much larger. So somehow I am almost more of a visitor than part of the newspaper staff, and I don't know most of the staff, as it seems to be a new generation, but I am still hoping to end up doing some stories and full-page spreads, as I just kind of wander around the rooms.
    2. Car Repairs and George Takei Talking About the Adventurers Club

      by , 06-17-2013 at 08:01 AM
06-13-2013 -- Earlier hints of a possible tidal wave on the beach and a sexy woman who may or may not be involved with the mafia-like group that has been chasing me around, then I find myself at an auto repair shop somewhere, talking to a cop who is talking about some of the bad shops he has had experience at, and I am hoping this isn't one of them, since they are working on my vehicle.

Anyway, I am really hoping they can handle the problem with my vehicle, and that it will be something minor, but it is sounding really rough and loud, much like a diesel tractor cab might sound. (Which actually makes sense, since that is what I am driving in this dream.) The cop is indicating that they do good work, but that they are about to close for the day, but I am refusing to leave because I am in the middle of a delivery (or perhaps a mystery shop) down somewhere about Lauderdale, and I have no way to get any help or do anything without my vehicle, so I am not going anywhere until my 'car' is fixed.

Somehow this leads to standing outside watching a couple of people walk by, including a thin black guy who borrowed something of mine, and I am waiting for him to return it, and when he doesn't seem to be coming over to do so, I find myself heading for him, instead. Somehow this leads to the strange switch where I have just boarded a bus with George Takei, and he is going to be helping me with something, though in the dream it is never quite clear what.

So we have moved to the back of the bus, and this punk kid seems to be asking about what we're doing, and I am trying to explain, but do a really lousy job of it. (Perhaps because I have no idea, myself.) Anyway, something that I say makes George think that I have volunteered him to help the punk kid with something, and he is really upset with me about it. Neither I, nor the punk, got that out of what I said, but to avoid trouble, I am trying to reword my comment to soothe George's issues.

In revenge, George goes off on a tangent about the Adventurer's Club, and wants to know why I liked the place so much, and wondering if it was true that Anne complained that I was boring and spoke like Ben Stein in Ferris Bueller's Day Off? And why would I talk like that all the time? I'm very hurt, because I never recall her saying anything like that, not even in my hundreds of hours of video footage of the Club, and I don't think I talk in that much of a monotone ... or at least I didn't while I still had a voice.

Then BC shows up and insists she has the footage of Anne saying that on video tape, and is leading George to the front of the bus to play it for him. Except it isn't footage from the Club, but from a play that Anne did, and I am even more upset, thinking that she might be so unprofessional as to make such a comment in the middle of a play. Except that the entire play seems to be of a woman whining about her medical procedures and how miserable she is, and is so much whining that it seems to be more something from BC's friend Pam than any real play. The play's name was something like the Mastectomy Moments or something, probably a take-off on the Vagina Monologues.

Soon we're standing on a street corner somewhere, and I find myself trying to explain my crazy friends to George, while he just stares at me. I end up defending BC by pointing out all the things she has had to put up with, which leads to me trying to explain her brother Benny to him. And isn't that a trip and a half. I am explaining about his past drinking, and his catch phrases, "I kill you for a quarter," and "Jonannelli" and "How does that make you feel?" and the 'I will annoy you if it kills me' attitude. I try to remember the newest catch-phrase, "My pants are too tight," but I just can't bring that one to mind.

Trying to explain all this to George is enough to turn him into Benny, who is drunk again, and babbling in the street, while his dog is jumping all over me, trying to get at the ice cream I am eating. I am trying to push the dog off, but I don't want to hurt its feelings, so while I try to push it off, I explain I just don't know it that well, yet. Odd stuff. (And why does George Takei keep coming into my dream, anyway?)
    3. Lucid Dream Within a Dream, in a Past Dream, Visiting Disney World and Popping Zit

      by , 06-07-2013 at 06:32 PM
06-07-2013 -- [Dreams within dreams, connections to other dreams, lucid, false awakenings, all kinds of stuff in this one.] Stopping by Rosemary's to check for mail or something, but she says I look sick, orders me to bed (in a different room than the one that used to be mine), and tells me to see a doctor in the morning. I accept the bed, but I figure I'm not going to go see a doctor, because I might have a slight fever, but I feel more or less fine. The room I am in is messy enough to be mine, and there is a crushed orange juice carton on the floor that has been squished, and I am amazed that it doesn't stink, since old orange juice smells horrible.

I must have gotten into bed and fallen asleep, because I suddenly find myself dreaming. I know I am dreaming, and even recognize the dream, one I had a few months ago, here. Oddly, though, I keep claiming that it was somebody else's dream, and as I am wandering through this dream that I can remember from before, I keep talking about how detailed it is, and how large the area it covers is, and how amazed I am that this other person could have such a detailed dream, and wishing I could dream so well! [Lol].

Anyway, I find myself in an area that is kind of shaped like a backward E, with the long bar connecting the lines running down the right side, instead of the left. I am in a hallway that forms the bottom branch of the E, on the west side, heading to the east, and the hall seems impossibly long, like a mile or so, and I am talking to myself out loud about what a cool dream this is, and how great the original dreamer must be, and it is the same area from the linked dream above where I was chasing the imps. But in this dream there are no imps, just the hallway. Looking to the south I am looking out many windows into the outside world. Looking to the north, I am looking through big panes of glass to a very large swimming pool.

As I walk along, the hallway is getting shorter and shorter, and now the entire hallway is probably only about a quarter of a mile long, and I am about halfway down it. Though it is still the outside on one side and a pool on the other, there is the hint and feel of hospital quarters or laboratories, again, just like noted in the linked dream, that ties this into even more past dreams, if only lightly. As I am looking around, I find there is a slightly seedy guy walking next to me, and I am shocked to look down and find he has got his dick in his hand, and is unobtrusively trying to rub the thing against me. Ick!

I kind of hurry away from him, heading to the east and the north/south branch of the reverse E, except the actual area is starting to feel more like the corner with the bakery in the Van Thief dream linked here. The Dick guy is still following me, and I try to escape by making my way into a store that is located right about where the middle branch of the reverse E would be, except as I move further into the store, it actually turns into the middle E branch. To the north are a row of stores, and to the south are windows looking on the other side of the big pool that I could see from the other path. So my mind seems to be keeping the layout pretty steady.

Dick Guy is still right on me, but now the hand holding his willie is covered in white, sticky gunk, and he is really creeping me out, so I start an odd combination of praying against him and using a sort of mind power/spell to try and force him to forget ever even seeing me, and I start running off to the east again, wanting to get away before there is any chance the guy might see me again or remember me. As I am approaching the north/south branch again, there is a small ladder to climb to get out of the area (about like the ladder out of a pool) but rather than waste time, I just fly up the four or five feet to the main path, to escape the icky creep!

At this point the dream is switching again, to be like the Disneyland Paris dream I had here, in the area I met Dave D./Chris V. in that dream. (All three of these dreams took place in about a two week period, roughly 6 months ago.) It is seeming more and more like a shopping mall, though with hints of theme park areas about it. A little north and west of me is what seems to be a 3 or 4 floor version of the America Sings show building from Disneyland, except each floor is recessed a little further, and it isn't circular. Instead it kind of undulates kind of like a stretched out, really tall S. The funny thing is, it still seems to be rotating, even though it isn't circular. Instead it is almost like all the walls are kind of like the luggage conveyors at the airport, circling around the stationery, oddly-shaped building. Weird.

As I walk further north, I seem to be making my way through crowds waiting for a parade, and soon find myself catching up to the parade, itself. There are hundreds of characters, and most of them seem to be dwarves. Seven of them are dressed in colorful costumes, and seem to be the named dwarves we are all familiar with [Dopey, Doc, etc.], the rest seem to be just generic dwarves of the same people, but to set them apart, their clothes and faces and all are just plain white. It looks rather weird. They are singing some sort of silly song, and I find myself singing along while floating a couple of feet over a tall planter. Several of the dwarves are climbing on the planter, and some ignore me, seeing I am causing no trouble, while others seem to be bothered by my floating there.

I am now approaching the top of the backwards E, though it is now beginning to more resemble a T, with paths leading east and west. It is here in the Disneyland Paris dream that I headed East from what was a shopping mall sort of area into what actually became DLP. As I am wandering around, I glance over and spot a very short person with graying curly hair, and suddenly recognize Sharon K. I glance around and standing next to her is Joe H. [Actually I suppose she is Sharon H., these days, but I still remember her as Sharon K.] I make my way to talk to them, but they are vaguely unfriendly, and they indicate they are going to the TTC (Ticket and Transportation Center) to take a Monorail over to the Magic Kingdom, and this has turned into Walt Disney World. They have no wish for my company.

I'm a little miffed, and decide, fine! I'll just fly into the air, fly over to the TTC, and beat them there! Remember, through this whole thing, I know I am dreaming. (I just think it is somebody else's dream, oddly enough.) I fly easily, and follow the monorail tracks right into the TTC, just moving to the side a bit to avoid some guy who has borrowed Wonder Woman's invisible plane, and is landing in the same area. I am trying to figure out which trains are going to the Magic Kingdom directly, which are stopping at the hotels, and which are actually heading to EPCOT, but it is complicated. I have just figured it out and am about to land by the train going direct to the Magic Kingdom when it pulls out, so I decide why bother, and just fly along the track, following it into the park.

As I fly along the monorail beam, I am thinking about what I want to do, today. I think about stopping by Casey's Corner to listen to the piano player, or heading into the back portion of Frontierland to ride Big Thunder or the log ride (in a layout more like my dreams of Magic Mountain than the real layout of Disneyworld), but oddly, as soon as I think of these areas, I suddenly find myself hovering above them. I am just about to land and ride some rides when I 'wake up' back into the earlier dream ... or into real life.

For a few seconds I seem to find myself in both the 'wrong' bedroom at Rosemary's house, and in the room I am currently in at the roach motel I am staying at in real life. I think I halfway woke, really, then drifted back into the dream that I never fully left. Anyway, I find myself waking in Rosemary's. The room I am staying in does not have a door, but a sheet pulled across the door opening, and kind of velcro'd to the wall. Somebody has disturbed it, and it has pulled open, and I am hoping to block it off before Rosemary sees me and starts badgering me. TOO LATE! She's standing right there, and tells me to hurry off to the doctors.

I tell her there is nothing wrong with me, I am feeling fine, and she says "Yeah, right! With your face covered in blood and your nose all purple!" What?!? I turn around to find a mirror (avoiding the overturned dog dish and kibble on the floor), and find myself standing outside somewhere in front of a large wall of reflective glass, staring at myself. My nose is swollen to about twice it's normal size and colored a bright purple, and there is a huge (perhaps 1 cm around) zit on the end of my nose, while my face is, indeed, covered in blood. I am about to reach up and try and pop the zit when a baseball coach who is standing there warns me that I might not want to do that, as I might cause a nasty infection. But I barely touch it and the thing pops easy as pie. I take a wash cloth and wipe off the blood and puss and try to gently clean the stuff out, and everything still seems fine, so I still don't plan on visiting a doctor.
    4. Mom Abusing, Dale Flying Home, Swimming in Carpet at JCP Warehouse and fragments

      by , 05-25-2013 at 06:43 PM
May 25, 2013 -- [Went to sleep at about 10:30, probably drifted away about 10:45. Phone records show I received the text message that half-woke me at 11:52, then drifted back to sleep and continued dream, actually waking around 12:05, so you could argue most of this dream actually took place on the 24th.]

I'm at the Hickory house and mom is beating up on me again [nothing like this ever happened in real life, but in dreams I have to deal with this frequently, the last couple of years ... my mom, who has been dead for 7 or 8 years, is battering me for no reason in my dreams, except that she is going crazy.] She is claiming that I have done something horrible to the cat, who has been gone for something like 15 years, now, and it is obvious she is nuts. I put up with it for a little while, but then warn her if she continues hitting me, I am going to have to fight back. When she won't stop, I hit her and throw her around just enough to make her stop hitting me.

The problem is, there are other people in the house, and I now have to try to explain things to them, so they don't think I'm a bully who beats up on women. Meanwhile, I am trying to walk out of the house, but as I make it out of the hallway and into the living room, there are two young, cute, Japanese anime-style school girls there, too young, but not dangerously so, at about 16-18, I'd guess. They are sitting there in short skirts and tight tops, school girl uniform type of things, sitting there, talking to each other. I stop to enjoy the view for a few seconds. One of them has dyed red hair and Japanese features, and has her shorts pulled aside to reveal her landing strip and slit, quite a distraction. She seems to be making out with the other girl and rubbing herself on her leg, and I really have to almost tear myself away to stop watching.

I walk out the door of the house to find myself in a sort of cross between a hotel and a shopping mall. I am meeting Dale here before he has to leave and fly home to California [Dale hasn't been here since November, don't know why all these dreams about him going back to CA the last few nights when he hasn't even been here ...]. I'm trying to explain about the situation with mom, and how she's kind of getting nuts as she gets older, but he's really running late, packing very messily, and running out the door to try and avoid missing his plane, so he isn't really listening.

I follow him out the door, calling for him to slow down, and quit moving like a giraffe on those long legs, and find him near the exit (half hotel, half theme park, now), talking to a guy he's run into that looks very familiar, but I just can't quite recognize him. [Looking back at the dream now, he looked a lot like Biff Tannen, the bully jock from the Back to the Future movies, with a hint of Truman's 'best friend' from The Truman Show thrown in.] I just realize I probably vaguely recognize him from some movie, and am about to ask him what I recognize him from, but Dale has run off again, so I have to hurry to catch up.

I find him in the parking lot, just climbing into his rental car, and I ask him, did he pack everything? Does he need anything? He tells me that his new cell phone from Publix works really, really fast, and he's really happy with it. He also tells me he would really like me to make him a copy of some sort of DVD I have a some Disney stage shows (probably stuff I filmed using his camera) and the friend he is now with (who I don't know) also says he would like a copy. He runs off, and I suddenly find myself working a shift in the J.C. Penney warehouse.

[Somewhere about here, I was half-woke by a text on my cell phone, which I assumed was probably from Dale (it was, btw), but I just drifted back to sleep and back to the dream, which may explain a little of what is to follow.]

I find myself sort of flying around, working up at the loading docks where stuff is taken off the trucks and put on conveyor belts, then dropped from about 20 feet up, and we have to catch them, sort them, and put them on pallets. (In real life this would injure people and break stuff, but in dreams, I've had several like this in the last couple of years.) Annoyingly, I am not handling the regular stuff, but damaged returns, so instead of getting a box full of items, I am getting one of this thing, one of that, and I have to sort them into boxes with like items, making far more work, and they keep sending more and more stuff on the belts, and I am getting further and further behind, but they refuse to slow down. Soon there is so much stuff that it causes the entire system to collapse, with stuff scattered all over the place, the conveyor belt falling apart around me, and a very large flat screen TV hitting the ground and cracking open.

There is a young punk manager here, and though the whole thing is his fault, he tells me he is going to place all the blame on me, and I am going to be fired for this, and I am just thinking this is so unfair, and wishing they had hidden cameras out on the floor to catch him bragging about how it was his fault, but I am going to take the blame, but I know they don't. No fair! Meanwhile, some of the broken crates that have fallen seem to be stuff of mine that I have packed up and stored, and I now find myself running around, trying to gather my stuff together, including several bits of clothes that include old security uniforms I haven't worn in years.

By now I find myself out deep in the warehouse, among the tall racks of stock, all sorted on pallets and up in the air, except the space on the ground, the lowest rows, aren't filled with pallets, but all the associates' lockers, and as I am walking along, I spot one of them that has smoke gently rising from it. Something has caught fire. I am trying to call for help, and get somebody out here before things can spread, when I spot smoke rising from another locker a couple of rows away. And another. And another. There seems to be an arsonist running around, starting fires. There are several upper level employees running around trying to put them out, but I am helping out, acting as a spotter.

As they continue, I can't help but notice the floors we're standing on are not tile, or even stone (which would make even more sense), but there is a strip of carpeting, a kind of a blue-green carpet, running the width of the aisle, and the entire length of the warehouse. As I am standing there, pointing at another burning locker, I am kind of shocked to find another associate swimming up to me in the carpet. He splashes some water up at the locker and puts out the fire, and even splashes a tiny bit at me. I am really in shock. He is swimming along like he is swimming laps, but I'm just standing on it ... nothing but carpet, to me. "How can you do that?" I ask, but he refuses to tell me, darn it!

I can't help it ... I pull out my cell phone and start to text Dale and tell him what is going on in the warehouse, and I hope I will manage to catch him before he gets on his plane. As I continue, it slowly turns from a text into an e-mail, and I now seem to be typing on my laptop, which is easier, of course. But I am still getting annoyed because, though I can type quite fast (probably about 35 or 40 words a minute when I know what I want to say, even though I don't know how to touch type), there is a girl standing there, sending texts of her own, and she is somehow typing about 10 to 20 times as fast as me, which shouldn't be possible. In retaliation, I just start mashing the keys with both hands and even my arms, sending masses of complete gibberish to Dale, before I wake up.

[And the moment I wake up, I check my cell phone and verify the text that half-woke me was, indeed from him, and immediately started texting him about the dream he almost woke me from, but since I only just woke up, half of that text was also gibberish. ]

      ---

May 25, 2013 -- Somehow I have been visiting with Carolyn S., and was somehow even there last week when one of her sons (Carson, I think) graduated from elementary school [very odd, since all of her kids are already out of high school], though because of some sort of emergency or problem, Carolyn was not able to make it. She is very disappointed about this, and feels really bad about it. So when I am out doing stuff a couple of days later, and find myself in the right place at the right time, I decide to help out. I am somewhere in California, Garden Grove or Santa Ana or somewhere I know the major streets, but not well, and I realize I am really near Carson's school, so I decide to stop by and see if, even though the graduation has already happened, if there might be any more festivities Carolyn might be able to catch, to make up for missing the graduation.

As I said, the overall area is Garden Grove or something, but when the bus drops me off at his school, it is an exact duplicate of Peter Marshall. I approach the kindergarten playground and classrooms, and there are a lot of other people wanting to speak to somebody as well, so it is fairly crowded. But as I am walking up, I realize that it is Sunday, so nobody is going to be here. [Never mind that if graduation was last week, school is over for the summer, anyway.] I comment on this, and several others realize I am correct, and start walking away. I am about to join them, when I glance back at the class rooms. Not only are there people on the playgrounds, but I can even see them in the classrooms through the windows, so even though it is Sunday, people are still here.

I walk to the office, and find myself in a big line of people. I glance around, and there are five or six people working, and I remember when I was a kid at Marshall, and how there was only Ms Gurly and one teen working in here and managing everything. I can't imagine how they need so many people, now, but figure it must be much more record keeping because computers have made it so much 'easier' these days. Anyway, a couple of the people waiting in front of me in this huge line are pushy punks, and they start shoving me around a bit, until the staff gets angry, and orders us all to get out. They head out the door in front of me, and since they are now gone, I turn around at the last second and stay. Sine there is no more trouble, they let me.

I find myself leaning against the wall next to the door to the principal's office, and there is a meeting going on in there with a lot of people. Unfortunately the door is broken, and I keep bumping it open and having to apologize. Meanwhile, I am playing with a couple of nails sticking out of the wall, and find myself backing away from several large spiders. (Large as in large types, wolf spiders, or wood spiders, perhaps, not something like huge spiders. just like an inch or two long.) They tell me not to worry about the spiders, and nobody seems to care, though they creep me out a little.

Soon I finally have a chance to speak to the person in charge (who warns me they are still putting together the diplomas and mailing them out, and I can't collect it in person), and I say something like "I'm here on behalf of Carolyn S. Her son graduated a few days ago ... his name is ..." "Carson, yes. We were very proud of him ... such a shame what happened." "Wha?" "Oh, he went out and got drunk three days ago, and something happened, and now he is dead!" "But I just saw him ..." I continue to think ... four days ago! Oh no! Poor Carolyn. I am horrified. And about that time I wake up.

      ---

May 25, 2013 -- [Even later in the morning ... but most of this one is missing. There was even more of this one, before the part I remember, and I think it involved looking for a nice restaurant.] There were bits about eating, and maybe a hint of balloon twisting that I can barely remember, but then I find myself getting home at the Hickory house. Mom is being a bit of a pest, but nowhere near as bad as in the first dream of the night. Carolyn S. is also here, and it is several days after the second dream. I know I ought to tell her how sorry I am to hear about her son, and apologize for my visit to his grade school, but she is running out to door for a balloon gig of her own. But just as she is exiting, she mentions that Carson was asking about me, yesterday. Turns out he is fine, and the woman at the school didn't have any idea what she was talking about. Weird.

Meanwhile, I am walking to my second bedroom, and find that both the doors are open, and mom has been in there, messing with my stuff again. Darn it, I wish that woman would stay out of my room and leave my stuff alone! I walk in, and start glancing around to see what she might have messed with, and soon find myself playing some Runescape. It is half-live, half game, but I have no computer to play with. I soon find myself facing off against a huge troll or ogre, something along the lines of Bork, but not him. Problem is, I can't seem to touch him, but he sure seems to be able to touch me! Somebody sees me having problems, and calls over to me that the only thing he is weak to is the casting of bloom, but I don't have my druid pouch with me.

Luckily, I do have my first ever cell phone, my old silver Sanyo flip phone, and I pull it out of my pocket, and start flipping through it to see if I might have any sort of Runescape app. Luckily I find one that allows me to cast bloom by pushing the 2 key, so I wait for the creature to attack me, hold the phone at him, mash the 2 key a few times, and a bright light comes out of the phone, and starts to injure him. I have to wait a little while before he recovers enough to try again, and we do the same thing. This goes on 10 or 12 times, and I've beaten him down to about half health, but unfortunately, I'm almost out of prayer, so I am not going to be able to cast bloom anymore. So I am struggling with the app to see if there is any way I can access my Ardy cloak to recharge my prayer points, but so far I haven't managed it. [In actuality, I would probably need the Falador shield, rather than the cloak.]
    5. Fighting Demons and Meeting David Tennant and his Bat'leth Again

      by , 05-15-2013 at 03:10 PM
Posted this many months ago, but through some sort of forum glitch, it was replaced with a different dream that was already listed. And since it was a good one, I wanted to make sure it was still available on here:

11-25-2012 -- At a hotel somewhere like New York or something, and interacting with Xander Harris (Buffy the Vampire Slayer character). I think we're busting into different rooms and killing demons or something. Very fast, very violent, and a lot of dusting going on. We're on the top two floors of the hotel, the penthouse and just below, and going back and forth between floors a lot to be sure we get everybody.

I guess we eventually finish, because I soon find myself exiting the hotel. Its still either New York or maybe downtown Orlando. Orlando would make more sense, since I run into Bonnie C waiting for a bus. We end up walking and talking for a bit, just chatting and hanging out, then I end up driving off. I'm not sure if I am in a car or maybe on a segway ... things keep shifting. I find myself driving along a wharf near a medium-sized ship.

There are some cops nearby, and I am trying to stop, and really having problems with it, but they don't seem to care enough to go chasing after me, which is nice. Somehow I lose control of what is becoming more a segway all the time, and end up plowing right into the water and under the boat, right as it is starting to pull out. I'm being sucked under it, and having to avoid any damage from the propellers, or getting pulled into its wake, only to discover it is some kind of simulator, and not a real boat, so there really isn't too much danger.

I soon exit, dripping wet, into a gift shop, where I drop a bunch of cheap trinkets while I try to talk to the cashier, and make sure I've avoided any trouble. Soon I walk out of the shop and find myself in downtown London, and it feels a lot like some of my older dreams shortly after my semester studying in England.

As I walk down the block, I run into David Tennant, who is dressed like the Doctor, but isn't playing him right now. We're standing next to a somewhat decrepit old building, and he is holding a large, double Klingon Bat'leth (kind of like the double pick from Stealing Creation in Runescape) which almost seems to be made out of plexiglass. He is using it almost like a pick-axe to sort of 'mine' the building.

The first time he does this, he manages to pull out a very cool looking black cat figurine with emerald eyes. The second time he doesn't come up with anything, but the third time he manages to free a gorgeous half-nude blonde in an odd bikini-ish outfit. He just kind of dusts her off and sends her on her way, but she is very hot!

I ask him if he is doing anything the next couple of months, then cringe and blush and say "That came out very, very wrong. Are you performing in a play anywhere over the next couple of months, since I'm in town and could get a ticket!" He isn't, but its still cool to get to hang out with him for a bit and shoot the breeze while he brings down buildings and finds treasure in his spare time.
    6. One Very Weird Night as House of Imports

      by , 05-04-2013 at 04:25 PM
05-04-2013 -- I am back working a shift at the Mercedes dealership I used to work at, and the other guard is hassling me because I can't seem to open my eyes ... literally. I can hear everything that is going on, but I can't see it because I can't wake up ... or maybe because I haven't fallen deep enough asleep. Anyway, he is also complaining that I am in the reception area, because they have changed policies, and they no longer want us in that area, even though that is where the security monitors are. I'm thinking if they want to make that big a fuss without actually bothering to tell me, they can fire me!

I've just come on, and the dealership is filled with hundreds of people ... far more than are ever here normally, and there seems to be a sort of party going on, with tons of people, including some lovely ladies, but I can't actually see any of the sales staff anywhere, so I have no idea what is going on. At least I can see, now.

Decide to go downstairs to use the restroom, just to find the doors to both restrooms have been kind of wallpapered over, so they are unavailable. I seem to remember some kind of employee restroom a little further back in the corridor by the parts department, so go to check there, but get distracted and return to the main showroom floor.

Where I find myself watching a fight between Spider-Man and the Green Goblin, and they are really going at it! At one point, the Savage Dragon jumps into things, as well! This can't be real, can it? I know super heroes don't really exist ... are they filming a movie or something? That may be it, because every time they turn to look our way, we duck out of sight, and get really quiet! "No," the costumed villain crouched next to me tells me, "We aren't staying out of a movie ... I just don't want to be beaten up."

Spider-Man scores a good punch on one of the bad guys, and he flies across the room to the lower level of the lobby (which was only a single story in real life ... but in dreams ...), and I decide it's all just too weird tonight, and I'm getting proof, so I whip out my trusty digital camera and start taking pictures. Soon after I start downloading them into my laptop when a Chinese guy starts to berate me for using the staff's computers. He looks like a cross between Charlie Chan and Mr. Fuji. I explain it is my computer and he's like "Uh ... ah ... well all right, then."

I start to descend the stairway from the reception desk down to the reception desk (hey, dream ...) and the crowds are getting ever thicker. The dress is also getting a lot more formal, and is starting to look like wedding party dresses or prom dresses ... something really nice. A nice looking, older blonde (40s), very professional looking, is a few steps behind me on the staircase, and she drops a present she is carrying, and it bounces down to me, so I pick it up and decide to carry it down for her. But when I get to the bottom of the staircase I find it blocked by a wall of presents, perhaps four feet deep and six feet across, completely blocking it. I drop the present on the stack and start to climb back up, explaining to the lady as I pass her, and fighting through the ever-worsening crowds, at times even climbing over small children to do so.

When I get back up near Janna's office (and it -is- now Janna's office, not a warehouse with super heroes fighting) I find myself staring at a little oriental girl, perhaps 8-10 years old who is obviously in the middle of a potty-mergency (thank you, Animaniacs) as she dances around. Suddenly an older Chinese woman who reminds me of a non-animated version of Cookie Kwan from the Simpsons walks up and tells me it is my responsibility to guide the girl (and 9 or 10 others) to the restroom. I try to refuse, but give in gracefully after a few seconds, and start to lead them to the short stairway down to the restrooms and parts.

Men's room no longer blocked, but it is being cleaned. The woman's room is still wallpapered over, so we continue on to the parts department, and this time I manage to find both men's and women's restrooms there. The kids use the restrooms. They also use the parts door leading outside, climb on the flower beds, and fall off. Thankfully the party is interesting enough that when they fall off they decide they aren't hurt.

I herd them back inside, and back up to the main showroom, and the crowds are worse than ever, so I try to get away slightly by stepping out onto the 'porch' by the main stairs up to the showroom, and just kind of look around, but even here it is crowded. As I stand there, Keith Thompson comes up behind me and demands to know why I have been avoiding him. I try to tell him I haven't been avoiding him as he searches through my (suitcase? gym bag? backpack?) and takes back the Kuya Kano CD he'd loaned me. He glances at it and sees there are a bunch of scratches on it, and demands to know what I have been doing with it, before he realizes the scratches just might be the music tracks.

I'm trying to explain I'm not avoiding him, things have just been hectic, when a couple of young Chinese guys say something that is probably slightly insulting, and Keith turns around and responds to them. The look of shock on their faces is great, and I just burst out laughing. It is Hiro and Ando from Heroes (yes, I know, when awake, Japanese, Chinese, different ... asleep, not so much). "I love that! I love the faces people make when they realize ..." Ando interrupts me "You know language!" I just keep laughing.

I start to turn back to Keith, only to discover he has stalked off, still angry, thinking I am avoiding him. I am about to go after him when I am distracted by a potential budding incident. Down at the base of the stairs there are three guys sitting there chanting. It seems to be a cross between Arabic and the chanting that 'Padulla' (Bubba Smith) did in Police Academy 4. Surrounding them are several white bread white guys praying in English. This is getting weirder by the second. They all seem to be working together at something, and again I pull out my camera to try and get some odd pictures, but another person on the stairs asks if I have permission to take photos, saying he doubts they want their fight captured on film. That comment is all it takes for it to start to turn into a fight, rather than working together.

I am starting to get worried, when everything changes. Across the street (where there is supposed to be a freeway) is a stadium, and there is a serial killer in the stadium who's weapon of choice is an air cannon (t-shirt gun) he loads with some sort of orange goop that kills anyone it hits. He shoots at 10 or 12 people in the stadium, and in the process turns an entire section of seats orange, before he turns his attention to us and starts firing our way.

Almost seems like he is trying to miss, like he is giving us a chance to scatter and run, but there are several people who are commenting they aren't going to run or back down, and they look like people from my choir. I'm kind of in between. I'm not going to run away, but if a shot comes my way, I am sure going to dodge.

BLANG! A shot hits the window next to me and coats it orange, then I feel a tiny sting and hear a loud clattering, and I turn to look at the staircase I'm standing on, and there are thousands of jelly beans or gum balls or something of the sort rolling down the stairs. I look around carefully, and find a dumpster where the flowerbed should be, filled with four or five people wearing bird mascot costumes. For some reason they are here to throw candy whenever the serial killer shoots his goop.

As far as I am concerned, anybody who wears a giant bird mascot costume in public has already consented to have their photo taken, so I am pulling out my camera to try to get some pictures, but suddenly it won't work. The camera won't focus. I keep bumping the wrong buttons, I can barely even hold the camera, and suddenly it is falling to pieces!
    7. Over My Dead Body!

      by , 03-24-2013 at 05:31 PM
03-24-2013 -- A barely remembered fragment about an underground hospital and being sent to the morgue to collect somebody or something, then I find myself walking on Crescent Avenue, headed toward Dale. I am just walking past the nursery when I run into two friends from the Tampa, Florida area. Let's call them TJ and TJ. Male and female, they are a couple, and they seem to be talking about a street they are referring to as Luther, and talking about all the crazy drivers.

I get involved in the discussion, and ask if they are talking about Martin Luther King Jr Avenue over in St Petersburg, also known as Highway 19 [Actually, it is located a few streets over from Highway 19, but dreams ... what can you do?], and they say they are. We discuss the street, and how it is made up of a bunch of streets that were originally separate, and then grew together, and all the bad drivers and accidents and stuff that happen there.

Part of the discussion is about how they keep doing more and more construction, adding overpasses and off-ramps that are slowly changing this surface street into more and more of an actual freeway [true thing that is happening with Highway 19 in St Petersburg area], and somehow as we are talking, the female TJ has traveled over there, stolen a hot sports car, driven it up and down that highway, wrecked it, and gotten back to where we are talking, all in a minute or two.

Unfortunately, she has been followed by the person she has stolen the car from, who is a rich millionaire playboy with criminal tendancies, kind of a cross between Bruce Wayne, Tony Stark, and a mob boss. He and his enforcer (who looks like the Obadiah Stane from the Iron Man movie) have come to find us, determined to kill TJ.

She accepts responsibility for her actions, and makes no excuses for what she did, but she does not plan to let them kill her without a fight, and she has this very cute guilty expression, and a very hot body. Between her looks, attitude, and acceptance of responsibility, I am really falling for her. Her boyfriend, the other TJ, runs off, and the Obadiah character pulls out a needle, now planning to drug her and have nasty sorts of fun with her because she dares to resist them.

The boss doesn't really care all that much about the car, he just can't let people be seen to walk all over him. He also wants me to come to work for him. But as the Obadiah thug threatens TJ, I can't help but get involved. I grab the thug and toss him a few feet to keep him away from TJ, and tell the boss that I have no problems with him, and could work for him, showing incredible loyalty ... but only if he leaves TJ alone.

The thug doesn't like it, but the boss doesn't much care, and seems interested, but first he is trying to finish up a phone call. In the meantime, I have stuck TJ in a kind of a shield or cage that keeps her safe from the thug, and under control. The boss has finished his phone call, and we are just reaching to shake hands when his daughter (who looks just like Thea from Arrow) comes running up.

She screams that this isn't right, and I can't do this, and I ought to be with her, not TJ, and throws herself at me. I shove her back a couple of feet, but she throws herself at me again. I shove her more powerfully, and she is right back at me. This time I grab her arm, and spin her around myself three or four times, building up more and more momentum until I throw her against a wall maybe 20 feet away. She collapses, but struggles back to her feet and comes at me again. I turn to her father, who seems bored and unconcerned, and asks him how long it will take her to get the message. He tells me another twelve to fifteen times of throwing her against the wall, and she might get the message! Dang!
    8. The Long Arm of the Graves

      by , 02-19-2013 at 03:40 PM
02-19-2013 -- I find myself in the backstage elevator I know from past dreams, riding down to enter the Adventurers Club. When the elevator lets me off, it is at the regular elevator spot, on the Zebra Mezzanine. I step out, and run into a couple of the cast members. I think Graham is doing Fletcher, and is glad to see me. Kristian is doing Hathaway, and is producing that slightly smarmy sort of vibe where I don't think he likes me, but he deals with it by just gently poking fun at me, and it doesn't really bother me. Then Joe (pre-surgery) as Graves walks up to me, greets me kind of warmly (something like "It's nice to see you again, Sir,"), and shakes my hand.

Then something distracts him mid-shake, and he turns away and leaves me holding his right arm. His real, live, right arm. He walking away, and I'm calling after him, asking "Graves ... Graves ... do you think you might still need this?" But he's disappeared through one of the staff doors, so I'm left carrying his arm.

I'm walking counter-clockwise around the mezzanine, and downstairs, somebody is calling out for Graves, asking him to give them a hand, and each time they do, his arm raises up in my hand and waves excitedly, but there's not much else it can do without its own body. I glance down, and oddly, the bar is over where the Treasure Room usually is. Eventually Graves arrives there (sans arm) right as I reach the stairwell and start down.

I am going down the stairs with my right hand on the banister, and my left hand holding Joe's arm, and it is kind of feeling in front of itself like a blind man might. There are people coming up the stairs at the same time, and Graves' arm ends up feeling up the chests of the women, who for some reason find the freshness from a disembodied arm to be hilarious. Meanwhile, it seems Joe can still feel whatever his arm is touching, and he is making comments like "Oh, that's nice," and "I've got to do this more often." Everybody just roars with laughter.

Things shift, and Graves has his arm back, and I am relaxing in the Main Salon, while many of the performers are just mingling with people and chatting. Then soon they start to seat a show (I think it is a treasure room show), and I end up wandering over to the desk in the stairwell, and sitting down to do a little writing. I know I am dreaming, and I find it to be a very nice dream, and I want to write it down, while I can still remember it really well.

I'm trying to write it down on an envelope, but there are already several other dreams written on it, so I'm having trouble finding any room, and am having to write bits of it down here, there, and everywhere. Will make it hard to keep track of when it comes time to transfer it to the computer. Meanwhile, I know I am dreaming, but I am enjoying the dream enough that I'm not trying to change anything, but just enjoying it as it is.

A maid who I don't actually recognize walks by, and makes a couple of comments, and I explain I am writing down this dream, so I won't forget it (and wondering if I will wake up to find it already written down, or if I will have to write it down again in the real world.) I find myself wondering where the other female performers are, because I've seen most of the men, but only the one woman, and I don't know her.

Then I hear another voice, and I recognize it ... Jennifer. But I turn around, and she isn't in a Club costume. Instead she is in a really short (at both ends) red dress and a black wig. She is explaining to some others that she is in training for a new role, and has a couple of days left to go in that training. She has a very strong Betty Boop vibe going on, but she also has a very obvious, strong (fake) Flintstones five o-clock shadow going on, that makes the role a cross between Betty Boop, Betty Rubble, and oddly enough, Barney Rubble.

Meanwhile, one of the cast members in the Main Salon is making some sort of comment about how the Club closed down years ago, but urging us all to attend and participate in ConGaloosh, and I'm thinking how I'd love to, if I could afford it, but ....

Another of those dream shifts, and I find myself at some sort of after-Club party somewhere. I think Jennifer brought me along, and everybody is chatting, and somebody is asking why I am here, and I am still trying to properly explain the thing with Graves' arm, and this being a dream. Jennifer wants to take me aside to talk for a few minutes, but before she gets the chance, somebody else grabs her, and I end up taking a seat on a sofa to wait for her, then I wake up. (And do have to write the dream down again, since doing so in the dream didn't carry through to the real world. Pity. 8-D )
    9. SciFi Travel Methods and Star Wars Models, A Shift at House of Imports, and Mom does Mystery Shops

      by , 02-07-2013 at 08:18 PM
02-07-2013 -- [Three dreams tonight, don't know if they would be long enough to have their own posts, but am putting them all in one post anyway. Going in last to first order, just because.] Am out driving somewhere, when the Jimmy starts acting up. It is close to stalling at stops, and the check engine light is coming on, and I am really worried the thing is going to die on me, and wipe me out again, as far as something to drive goes.

Soon I find myself at Hosanna Printing, and it must be around five or six, because Marli takes a few moments to talk to me, but not much because she is in the middle of locking up. This means she is pushing me out the side door so she can exit via the back door while activating the alarm, then walk around the building locking the side and front doors after the fact. Strange.

Next thing I know, I am just arriving home at the Hickory house, or some slightly distorted semblance of it, collecting the mail as I enter the house. There are lots of letters, packages and the like (as usual in my dreams) including CDs from record clubs, past due bill notices and all kinds of other stuff. A lot of the stuff is for mom, so I pass it on to her, except she seems to be a bit of a composite of four people, mom, Barbara (Jeff's mother from next door), BM, and even a little bit of Marli.

We're talking about bills and things, and a little bit about the print shop, and all kinds of random stuff, but then 'mom' opens one of the envelopes, and finds it is a check, payment for her first ever mystery shop, and she is halfway freaked out by the fact that the company is owned by Jeff, and that she is now getting paid from a company that is owned by somebody so young. I don't bother pointing out he is almost as old as I am, which in this dream is over 40.

I start to head outside and find myself in a kind of a large parking lot, though I have no idea where it is at. I am pulling a somewhat small suitcase, and am heading to the 'new' (new to me, but fairly old, overall) car that I have been given. It is a white Continental, probably from the 60s or 70s. Part of the time it seems to be a convertible, and it has one of those trunks with a really small opening, so I am having slight difficulties getting my suitcase in it, and as I am trying to close it, the handle causes the back window of the car to fall out. Thankfully I am easily able to get it back in fairly easily.

As I am getting ready to leave, I find I am parked right next to the GMC Jimmy that this car is replacing, though somebody else has parked so close to it that nobody could get to the door. A lady who seems to have been the one giving me the Continental is asking me about the Jimmy, because she is considering buying it from me. I am explaining about the check engine light that might require some work, and the oil leak which means it frequently needs a quart added, and the low MPGs, but she is still interested, so I may get not only a new car to drive for free, but also get paid a little for the old one. Cool beans!

      ---

I find myself working another security shift at House of Imports, though it has probably been at least a couple of years since the last time I worked a shift here. I am in the showroom, which seems much like it used to, except that where the receptionists used to be during the day, and security at night, the receptionist area has been elevated a little bit more, and security now has a slightly lower counter right in front of the receptionist desk, and we're not supposed to ever get in their space. (Of course, our desk being in front of them means nobody can ever approach them, because our desk is in the way, but the dream never covers that.)

It is past closing time, but as usual the sales staff is still staying late trying to sell cars, and the place is still very busy. At one point, one of the sales people drives a large van full of people into the showroom, itself, which means he must have driven in the east doors, because that is where the ramp is. I wander out those doors, and in the east lot area, I find an almost carnival-type atmosphere, and a clown who looks a lot like Trixie Chick (but isn't) is doing balloons or face painting.

I end up picking up a balloon animal (perhaps a bear) to look at it, and as I glance at it, it changes into more of a beanie baby-sized stuffed animal, before I set it down in the planter, and head on to the front door. So I am back in the showroom, and find I am working with another security officer, and I try to ask him about the scheduling. I ask if they always have two guards working at the same time, now, and what the shifts are going to be.

He kind of indicates that there is just one shift a week with two guards, and the rest of the time it is only one, and I am trying to explain about the 28 hour weeks I used to work here in two days (a 16 hour shift, then a 12 hour shift), but as I am trying to talk to him, he just kind of fades away and disappears. Soon I am walking down the four or five stairs that lead to the short back hallway where three of the salesmen's offices were.

Though I am dressed as a security guard, there are some crooks who think I am some kind of evil wizard who is working with them to plan some kind of crime. Since the crime has nothing to do with robbing the House of Imports, and since these are dangerous individuals, I do not feel responsible for trying to stop them, but after they spill most of their plans to me, I do have to tell them that I think they've confused me with somebody else, and am hoping they don't decide they need to kill me or something. Instead, they just get out as quickly as they can, and I'm just working on clearing everybody else out of the place, slowly but surely.

      ---

[Most of this one was long and interesting, but not the kind of thing that you could remember in great detail. First dream of the night, and the earlier parts were very choppy, so perhaps while the body was only starting to get into REM sleep or something. Cool stuff, but not all that reportable.]

Long bits of interesting search / chase / explore kinds of stuff in an odd cross of science fiction / dream powers kind of world. Its hard to explain, but its like there are little points of light scattered all about, and you kind of grab one in your mind and create a beam of light between you and that point, and kind of travel that beam of light to get there. (Kind of the light ships from the original Tron movie, but without a ship.)

So I'm creating large networks of these beams of light, traveling between lots of different light points, and going all over the place, and it is really neat. But that is only one of three or four areas and methods of traveling. Others involve creating floors of interlocking tiles (probably hexagonal), again, just by concentrating on willing them into being, and even other methods of traveling around. Wish I could remember more of this part, because it was really cool stuff.

But at one point I am chasing a kind of cute lady (no idea why) but the trying to create new connections and light to follow her isn't working. So I figure I may need to use one of the other methods. I am trying the create the hexagonal tiles to follow after her, but it is very hard, very resistant. I can only manage to force a single ring of tiles around the platform I am on, and even that requires a huge amount of effort.

Up to this point, things have been very science fictional, but of a real life sort. But here it starts changing into more a real life version of a sort of video game. The hexagonal grids are turning into a sort of game surface. Though there are no hexagonal grids in Risk, it is taking on a Risk sort of feel. There are several different teams of human players wearing Tron-like light outfits in different colors.

You have to take over territories, and fight against your enemies, but you can pass through empty territories without claiming them or having fight for them, moving quickly to get to areas where your enemies are. And it is people moving around this landscape, which has hills and valleys and trees and ridges. But when they have battles and manage to win them, they receive ships that seem to be out of Star Wars, kind of. These are detailed models of ships like the Millenium Falcon or an Imperial Star Destroyer (though in my dream it was called something like a Rigelian Battle Cruiser or something), and they are like two or three feet long, so people can carry them around, though they are sort of bulky.

The models are incredibly detailed, sharp, and realistic, really quite amazing for something in a dream. So we're running around these hills with hexagonal grid lines all over them, and I'm dodging other players who are mostly ignoring me, as I don't seem to be attacking anybody, when suddenly one of the little figures in the model I am running around with seems to use some sort of small fighter or escape pod or something, to blast out of the ship.

I'm trying to go back for him, fearing he'll be killed or injured and taken prisoner or something, but instead the thing seems to be enlarging and growing until he pops out and becomes a real person, running around like the rest of us. Soon we're in a large library or something, with lots of people sitting around talking or reading at lots of tables. I'm following this guy or maybe he is following me, and I think he is turning into Joe Simon (friend from Disneyland), though I am not sure.

I soon find myself looking out a window at one of the hills we'd been running around, and it is now covered with snow, with some light tracks from where people have been sledding and the like. I decide I'd like to sled down the hill, and am heading out to do so, but by the time I get outside, instead of snow, the hill is covered in corn or wheat or something. But I am still getting on a sort of round sled-like thing, and going down the hill, knocking down stalks and leaving trails in the corn.

As I get to the bottom of the hill, Joe is there, and he is talking about how much he loves the show I introduced him to, but is trying to remember the name of a character. He starts to describe somebody with dark hair and a dark mustache, and I know the show is Doctor Who, and I recognize the character as the Brigadier, but whatever I am calling him is neither the character name nor the actor name.
    10. Kamikaze Invasion in Denmark?

      by , 02-05-2013 at 05:30 PM
02-05-2013 -- [First time in several days a detailed dream worth recalling.] I am in BM's place, probably the trailer, and we are cleaning something, probably the guest bathroom. I need to go to the bathroom, so I sneak into BM's bedroom to use her bathroom, hoping she'll never know, and won't mind if she finds out. I am taking a pee, but my aim isn't perfect, and a few drops splash on the floor. I cover it up with a bit of paper.

Unfortunately it seems BM needs to use the bathroom, too, so is at the door asking what I am doing there and telling me to hurry up. So I get out of the way, and we are standing in her bedroom talking. I glance out the window, and we are suddenly on something like the 7th floor of a hotel, and there are planes falling out of the sky, which is terrifying. But worse, as we watch, one is very close and heading directly at the window.

We run, bolting out of the room and into the hallway, all the while I am making like Marvin the Martian, and wondering where is the earth-shattering kaboom. Somehow by this point we are running down a hall on the third floor, when I hear the crash, and see the plane plowing through a wall maybe a hundred yards away, and crashing through the hotel. It swung around and came through at a different angle and a lower altitude, and it is moving rather slowly, so I fear it is packed with enemy soldiers who will try to seize the hotel.

I don't know what is going to happen, or how bad things are going to be later, so I am considering running back to the hotel room to get my prescriptions, but I decide it would be too dangerous, and to just get out until I can find out whether they just crash the planes, or storm the hotel from the wreckage. BM has already disappeared, and I look at the two story escalator going down to the lobby. Somehow I enter the wrong one, and am running down the steps as others are being elevated. Silly me.

When I reach the lobby and burst outside, there is no sign of BM, and instead I am meeting Dale. We're discussing what is going on, while he sits in his rental car, on the wrong side of the car. He says it is because he hasn't eaten yet, and when he is hungry, he makes mistakes. I am thinking there is also the possibility that he is confused because we are in Denmark. Anyway, we get in his car, and we are driving to somewhere to eat, while listening to radio reports about traitors helping the invaders from the wreckage of the plane and being killed for it. Yup ... it's an invasion.

He says he always goes to Applebee's to watch the big game, and I'm thinking 'wasn't the big game yesterday?' [My mind was only one day behind.] Anyway, we are suddenly in the restaurant at the counter and paying for our meal, and they are giving him his change all in coins, while helping us pack up our leftover food, and the rest of our stuff. They have a small bag of my stuff that I don't know where it came from, and my dream journal, which somehow has a large corner banged up and worn, like it's been used for years.

Somehow they are giving Dale a haircut, and he is wearing an odd, pointed balloon hat while they do, which is kind of strange. Oddly, instead of him tipping them, they tip him, and it is a rather large tip. He comments on how they tipped him enough for him to buy us all a round of drinks, including Carsten, who is now with us. [Dale doesn't drink.]
    11. The Demon Bar and Fighting Monsters

      by , 01-26-2013 at 06:48 PM
01-26-2013 -- [Bad night of sleeping, nothing but fragments.] I am staying at some sort of hotel or something, just a block or so from some place with a pool, and decide to go swimming. Walk over to the place and reach the locker room, only to find I have forgotten my towel and swim trunks, so I have to walk back to the hotel to get them.

I return to the place with the pool, and go back to the locker room, and get dressed for swimming, but when I get back to the pool I find out there are massive amounts of people around, hundreds and hundreds. There are so many people that they have to wait in line for a couple of hours to get in the water long enough to swim maybe a single lap. It just isn't worth it to bother waiting around. So I head back to the locker room.

The two locker rooms are very close, and while entering the door of one, you can see people standing there changing in the other, but I don't quite manage to catch on to the fact I am dreaming. I start to change back into my regular clothes, but somehow I have tons of money with me. It's all in small bills like it is tips or something, but still, huge amounts. I'm stuffing the stuff in my pockets, and it will all just barely fit, and two very tough looking guys seem to be talking about rolling me when I leave the place, so I'm trying to take my time.

By the time I exit the locker room, the place seems to be changing from a gym or a YMCA to something like a rather seedy looking bowling alley (albeit still one with a pool), and I spot a woman wearing a bikini that looks like the Princess Leia number from Jedi, and unlike many, I still don't really find it an attractive design. I slowly make my way to the door of the place, and out into the parking lot, really keeping an eye out for the toughs. I don't see them at first. Instead I see girls that work for the place directing traffic as it exits the parking lot, and I am beginning to feel safe.

Then I notice that those 'girls' seem awfully tall, and rather grim, and all seem to have very deep voices, and I begin to suspect they aren't girls at all, but the toughs waiting for me, and I decide I better go back inside and wait for a while. Somehow I have been resting my hands in my pockets, and when I take them out, one of the bills I had been carrying is stuck to one of my hands. It drifts to the ground, and I am thinking of picking it up, but somebody is following me, and I decide to ignore it. Too bad, I think it was a tenner. I hope the person who was following me is a good guy, and will pick up the money and give it back to me, but it doesn't happen.

I stumble back inside, and find the place is getting darker and darker as it gets later and later. And all the people are starting to look less and less like bikers and toughs, and more and more like demons and creatures and monsters. A couple of hours later, while I have sat there munching on some fries or something, and more and more people, including the staff have been muttering more and more about me under my breath, and it is now almost completely black, I decide I probably have to go, no matter what.

Some troll-like creature seems to want to pick a fight with me because I try to compliment his son, who he is carrying, but I manage to smooth it over. But as I am approaching the door, another three or four creatures (mostly tall, demonic sorts of things) start to loom threateningly over me. Finally I seem to realize I am dreaming, though I don't quite get there 100%. [I know it isn't real, and I can do anything, but I don't actually think to do anything much.] I try to warn them, something like "I don't suppose you can just leave me alone, and we can avoid trouble? No? Well, I tried to warn you."

I grab the first one, and a rough twist and I snap its neck, then I start grabbing its arms and legs one at a time and wrenching them so violently that I break those and disjoint them, as well. I grab the second, and squeeze it until it's head pops like a pimple, before I toss it aside, and grab for the third one. By the time I have destroyed the third one, the fourth one is backing away, and all kinds of monsters are muttering about how mean I am.

About this point, I wake up for a few seconds, try to set the dream in my mind for writing down later, and drift back to sleep, and back into almost the exact same dream. I am still walking through the same bowling alley, with demons and things cringing away from me, but there also seems to be a clown convention or something, and a woman I don't know is talking about my friend Petey, and how great she is, and how she has like 10,000 Facebook friends, and must be the most amazing person ever.

And Petey herself walks up and explains she just friends everybody she meets while doing gigs, so most of them are just bare acquaintances, and it doesn't really mean much of anything. Then I walk up and say something like "Though she does have a few friends on Facebook who really are friends, friends. Hi, Petey!" and she greets me. She then asks "What are you doing here?" and I start to tell her about the monsters, and the other lady starts to talk about the convention, and I realize she wasn't talking to me, so I turn around and start to exit the place again.

As I make it out to the parking lot, most of the demons and creatures are still cringing away from me, but one (looks like one of the Rune blood creatures from the Runespan in Runescape) is trying to start a conversation with me, and is saying something about it is too bad I didn't get together with a cute girl I'd met inside. I look at him and say "But when I was talking to her, there were only two magical signatures around, mine and yours. And since I know I wasn't her, since I was talking to her ...." and I kind of glare at him. "Uh ... well ...." and he slinks off, abashed. Weird.
    12. Video Games and the Teen Soap Conspiracy

      by , 01-24-2013 at 12:37 AM
01-22-2013 -- I'm somewhere watching television with some young friends. Or perhaps playing video games. It keeps changing back and forth. Or even playing some kind of live board game type of game. One of the video games turned live game involves a small blue ball, half physical, half made of energy, that appears, then grows until it is three or four inches in diameter.

You have to take the ball and roll it at a target perhaps a meter away. You have to roll it, because the target is very small, too, and if you try and toss it, it is almost impossible to hit. Roll it, and if you roll it soft enough to control the aim, you probably won't register a hit. Roll it harder, and you lose control to be sure it will hit the target. Very challenging. The kids I have been playing with decide to leave, and as they do, their grandmother starts to give them instructions.

It turns out to be Bonnie M., and since she and I are no longer on good terms, I decide I probably ought to leave, especially since she is wearing a rather see-through mesh bathrobe with only a pair of panties underneath. I start to pack up the game, and a playing piece that seems to be almost a cross between a blue poker chip and a pog accidentally flips into my mouth and I start to gag on it slightly. I manage to spit it out, wipe it off, and pack it away in the box.

Oddly enough, Bonnie seems to want me to stay around and watch TV with her, like old times. Meanwhile, she has turned into a grade school teacher, and we are sitting in her classroom, which includes her TV, chair, and a class bookshelf. I am scanning the books, and am very pleased to see, along with other titles, Gordon Korman books and Three Investigators titles. There is also a cat that I am petting.

We start to watch TV, and she is watching a sort of teen soap opera kind of show that involves a smooth blond kid kind of like Paul-Mark Gosselaar, but without the pranking. He is with a bunch of other students that are trying to get him to sample a pranking sort of item that they claim will turn him into an Incredible Hulk-style monster for a few minutes, but he refuses to try it.

He is kind of a foreign exchange student, is imperfect in the language, and is really driving them crazy because for some reason he would make an incredible football player, but he has absolutely no interest in playing, and they just can't talk him into it. Meanwhile, he has got a sort-of girlfriend who is a cheerleader, but doesn't mind that he refuses to play football. She is played by Hayden Panettiere, of course.

There is a coach played by Jane Lynch, but she is a strange one, and is lecturing the cheerleader on not wearing a skimpy enough costume, and having the nerve to wear panties, which means the coach can't perve on her when she is making out with her boyfriend. Very odd. All this seems to be taking part at the Buena Park Mall, and time is passing very quickly.

I am trying to remember as much about the show as I can, because it seems to be turning into real life, and the government now seems to be after us. It is an odd sort of conspiracy, because as long as we don't realize anything is going on, they leave us alone, but as soon as we start to notice there is anything to notice, they are after us. I try to hide by acting normal, and try to go back to Bonnie's classroom.

I want to take the time to write all of this in my dream journal, but I need a little privacy to do so. I open the door to the classroom to walk in, but it is now filled with students and adults, and a young Flo from the Progressive commercials is just finishing reading a paper on how her ultimate goal in life is to advertise insurance. I suppose she'll be successful at accomplishing it.

The person in charge has been staring at me, standing in the back of the classroom, and refuses to go on or call up any more students to read their papers until I am gone, so I walk out of the classroom and shut the door behind me. Meanwhile in the quad, the coach is trying to remove the cheerleaders panties while all the students are arguing with Mark-Paul to play football, and I can't seem to write properly. I am trying to write my usually tiny print notes across the top of the page, but I can't seem to help jumping all over the page in my writing. All the time, I seem to be getting advice on job hunting.
    13. The Lumberyards

      by , 01-17-2013 at 04:27 PM
01-17-2013 -- [Not sure if this was 1 or 2 dreams. Woke at about 2:30 and wrote down a dream, then had some slight problems getting back to sleep, probably fell back to sleep somewhere between 3:30 and 4:00. Had a dream, and had the sense of waking up and trying to fix it in my mind, but might have been in the dream, itself. I just don't know. Eventually woke up and wrote everything down about 8:15.]

Started out as a sort of dull, halfway repetitive Runescape dream. I was playing the game and teleporting to a sort of version of the Canifis farm patch, where I seem to be growing pumpkins. I teleport there, pick pumpkins, cut trees, perhaps bake pumpkin pies or something, then start the whole process again, about every five minutes, with the next growth tick. Very repetitive, kind of dull.

For a few minutes I find myself in a real life kitchen somewhere, standing outside a refrigerator, waiting for somebody to remove something from the freezer, so I can lay out some slices of cheese on a large piece of aluminum foil and place it back in the freezer. Hints of roommates and things. Then I find myself back at the teleporting to the farm patch, and cutting the logs and all. I seem to be waiting for Dale to join me, watching the mini-map for him, but his orange dot never seems to appear.

There is a slight hint of typical bits of a warehouse dream in here, but nothing that sticks, and it is around this point that I might have woke up, because I seem to remember trying to remember the previous bits in detail, so I may have half woke, then drifted right back into the same dream. I am just not sure.

I keep doing the farm bits, but the tree cutting is getting more and more involved, and I am turning in more and more logs at once (kind of like adding to the bonfire while hunting Skoll), getting to the point of 10 or 12 at once. Where I am turning them in seems to be more and more a sort of lumberyard, and soon I seem to be building one as part of a quest in perhaps Mort'ton, on the other side of the screen, but on the same screen, where I built another one as part of another quest a couple of years ago.

I suddenly find myself remembering building four or five lumberyards around different parts of Runescape, and it seems like it is getting to be a bit much to me. Besides, don't you need electricity to run a sawmill? This game seems to be getting more and more anachronistic to me. Anyway, I am still waiting for Dale's character to show up, and I am feeling very tired, so I decide to lay down on a pile of saw dust, which seems so very, very comfortable.

Things are shifting around me, and the pile of sawdust is turning into an odd sort of combination of a beanbag and some sort of weird ergonomical chair within a showroom of a sort of furniture store, and there is a redhead who is bugging me to get up. It seems the store is about to close, and she is not going to just let me fall asleep there, though she is willing to show me around a little and try to sell me something. [She looks much like the somewhat strange redhead in the funeral home that I saw in NCIS: Los Angeles last night.]

She leads me around the store, which kind of half looks like the Varrock Museum, then back to the corner where I had tried to take a nap. I am starting to gather all my stuff (of which I have more and more by the second), including putting things in my backpack, and trying to unplug my cell phone from the charger and the charger from the wall, without tangling up my wires and cables and things from theirs. My backpack is on my back, my pockets are getting full, and I seem to be having to carry my laptop in my hands, while she is saying something about me maybe accidentally dying, and I am saying "Good!" and reminding myself of the grumpy cat that people keep posting pictures of on Facebook right now.

Somehow the store full of people seem to want to cheer me up or something, so they all start singing some goofy sing-along song that everybody is supposed to join in on, but the singing is not impressive, I have no interest in joining in, and moments later they are still trying to rush me out of the store because they are closing for the evening.

But they are running me out in Frontierland in Disneyland, as it seems that's where the store is now located. I am supposed to be meeting a number of friends here, including Dale and others, but instead the only person who seems to be waiting is Howie, Kluts's husband. I'm talking about the odd store / show combination as we walk out of Frontierland, and then start down Main Street.

Very quickly Howie has turned into a huge, tall black guy (very big, but not fat) as we continue down Main Street. Then we're out in the parking lot, perhaps on a tram, and then even on a freeway. At times we're in a car, or a utility vehicle. At times it seems to be a bus, and at times, it seems to be almost floating on air or something. At one point we are at the top of a very tall, very steep hill, just starting down the other side, and it doesn't seem like we're in anything at all, though it feels much like a roller coaster as we rush down.

When it seems to be a bus, the black guy has lost his voice, but is trying to speak on a mic. He tries again and again, and is not sure if the mic is on or not, because even if it is on, with no voice, he probably couldn't make himself heard, anyway. I'm thinking his voice is even worse than mine.

Anyway, by this point the guy has shrunk a lot, and is now starting to look like Director Vance from NCIS, and he has his wife (who just was buried last night in the episode I watched) and kids with him, as well as myself. The bus is turning into a large SUV, and we are driving along the freeway next to a railroad track. There are train cars sitting on the tracks, with scaffolding on them, as people seem to be cleaning them much like window cleaners. Oddly the people climbing around the scaffolding seem to be a little old woman and her kids, and I quickly recognize them as Bonnie's old housekeeper Mattie and her kids (who I never met).

Somehow we're all impressed with how hard they seem to be working, and what a good job they seem to be doing, and Director Vance decides we have to stop at the trainyard and go in and place compliments for them, so we do so. We've parked at what looks much like a truck dock, though it is dirty, and I am thinking of staying in the car, so the kids don't have to go in, but we all end up getting out of the SUV, and end up being approached again by the same redhead from the funeral home / odd store, who wants to know what she can help us with. Odd.
    14. NCIS, Teaming with Gibbs, Fornell, and Diane to Find Evidence in Churchill's Home

      by , 01-06-2013 at 10:09 AM
01-05-2013 -- [Great dream with some nice details and connections to other dreams. Very long, but the last 'scene' is the longest and most detailed, solely because it is the one I remember best.]

This one seems to start at a Disney World-ish kind of place where I am looking for work. I am trying to get in at various jobs, but they aren't what I really want to be doing. It seems I can't try to get the job I really want, because that would have me working with Anne, and though I am over the entire thing, she isn't, and is still freaking out about it. At the same time, Agent Fornell can't get the job he wants, either, because he and Gibbs' ex-wife, Diane. Turns out she and Anne work together, and she may have been the cast member arguing with me on my cell phone in the big 'trying to be lucid and not getting there' dream at Disneyland Paris, last night.

There were bits taking place at the Buena Park Mall, trailing suspects with Gibbs and Fornell, dodging around the various mall customers. I also seem to remember tiny bits that might tie in with long-time hiking dreams, and the area from the 33 cave, but I can't remember the details.

At one point, I almost seem to be getting close to Diane (God have mercy!) while Fornell may be hitting it off with Anne. Soon, Gibbs is about to split off from us and climb into a helicopter to go undercover somewhere, and we're all kind of worried about it, He is really going to be in danger on this one. Fornell and I end up on the Haunted Mansion, where he is reacting to all the ghosts and things popping up at us, and is close to shooting audio animatronic figures. I know them all, and can ignore them, which means I can spot the real criminals who are coming for us in the ride. I manage to escape, but I think here is where they manage to kill Fornell.

Soon I have just left my elementary school, and I am a little kid being chased by bullies, instead of crooks. I am considering ducking into one of the houses that have the signs up that they are a safe-haven for bullies, but I fear that they have been infiltrated and compromised by the crooks we're trying to bring down, so I don't dare trust them. I just keep running down Crescent, heading for Hickory.

Soon I find myself in a large mansion that I've been in before in at least a couple of dreams, though I don't know if any of them were ever written down or entered on the computer. (One of them, a Runescape dream that turned live, and shifted to this location.) Perhaps not in the other dreams, but I think in this dream it is Chartwell ... at least, I think it is a house that Winston Churchill owned.

This is where Gibbs was working undercover, before he got killed. [Sorry!] I am now here undercover, trying to find what evidence he left here for us, and am dressed up as a butler. I am speaking with Diane, who is also undercover, but only as a tourist. We're in a large library that I think begins on the third floor, and has a domed ceiling going up above the fifth floor, very posh and fancy.

We're trying to figure out where Gibbs would have left any evidence or clues for us, and I find myself remembering a small, nondescript study from one of those previous dreams, hidden in the back on the ground floor where Churchill spent a lot of time, and thinking how Gibbs would have probably enjoyed using it. I'm trying to think of a method to get us in there without anyone seeing us, when one of the bad guys approaches Diane. Unfortunately, he has recognized her.

He plans to separate her from the crowd and dispose of her, and he thinks I am just the hired help, so he tries to send me away. Instead, I grab him and start to fight with him. The next bit is unclear, but I think he shoots me, and as I collapse to the ground, dead, the butler turns into Gibbs, while I am now Diane, and I break free and start running, looking for that little study.

Time passes, and soon I am myself, have visited the study, and have got the stuff Gibbs left for us, enough to put the crooks away. Now I just have to make it out alive, while knowing that my partners have been killed. Bit of a downer dream, while still very cool.

I burst out a small side door, and run for a gate, but there are crooks right behind me, and they'll set a dog on me, as well. I'm running down a steep hill to a tall gate which is probably locked, with crooks and dog behind me. The hill is so steep, and ends so close to the gate, I figure if I take a running jump, I can jump from the hill onto the top of the gate, bypassing it being locked. Unfortunately, the dog catches up to me.

I manage to grab its jaws, and am holding them shut kind of like you do with an alligator. I wrestle with it for a few seconds, then throw it to the ground by the gate, and jump. I do manage to land on the top of the gate, and quickly scramble down the other side, where I fall on my butt. I now only have two problems ... first the fence is a chain link fence with a very large mesh. A human couldn't squeeze through it, but the dog almost certainly can, and is in fact squeezing through it now. And secondly, more crooks are running through the fields (including one who looks just like Ducky, oddly enough), approaching me, so I am on the run again!

[I love NCIS, though I haven't watched all that much of it. I also haven't watched almost any of it in at least two or three years, which is why I am surprised that it seems to be the TV show that makes it into my dreams the most often. I would expect it to be Trek or Doctor Who or B5, but I think I've dreamed more of NCIS than any of them. Oddly, though, I watched a couple of episodes online last night, including one with Diane in it (don't think I have ever seen her before) and I am amazed at how quickly my dream weaved her into a story, since it usually takes my dreams about two weeks to catch up with things from real life.]
    15. College Tests for Failed Classes, Singing at the Church Bar

      by , 01-06-2013 at 09:13 AM
01-06-2013 -- [What fragments I had earlier in the night didn't seem worth remembering, but I know there was something about mom being around, and dad being dead, stuff at the Church of the Nazarene, and something about Anne and I being friendly with each other. I don't get why she is in my dreams so much, recently. I haven't seen her in years, haven't thought about her except in my dreams, and have no desire to have anything to do with her anymore. But the last few nights she keeps popping into my dreams.]

I find myself at college, sitting for finals on two classes that I have never once attended through the year. This is my last chance to do something which might be able to salvage my grades. I think one class is a civics class, and the other may be a math class.

Anyway, for the Civics final, I have to write a paper on what I would consider the perfect form of government, if money were no issue. I know what my beliefs are on government, and I think this ought to be easy, but every time I am about to write something, I think of more things to consider.

I am planning on writing something in favor of a Rand-ist, Objectivism pro-business government and system, which is what I believe in, both in my dreams, and in real life, but I also keep coming back to the issue of big corporations with CEOs who make billions while they try to pay their workers minimum wage (or less), and while the system allows this, it still isn't right.

[This could lead to a big argument on how no government system could ever work, because people quite simply suck! Communism is a good system in theory but can't work in practice because of human nature. Some are going to take charge and abuse the system while making others do all the work. Capitalism is the best system, but still the exact same thing happens. Our current liberal system with all the welfare and things fails for the same reasons, and in the same way as communism. All systems fail, and for the same reasons. Humans suck! So ends the soap box.]

By this time, three fourths of the testing period is over, and I still haven't written anything, and the teacher is trying to talk me into just giving up, taking an F for the class, and leaving. But I am still convinced I can write something good enough to salvage my grade. Meanwhile, time keeps passing, and I think I am now in the middle of the testing period for the second class, still trying to write the paper for the first class.

In some odd was that makes no sense, I soon find myself picking up and throwing down either a bust, or a broken bit of statue, again and again. I am kind of doing weight lifting with it, and must have been doing so for a while, because I have really built up my strength and stamina, and have some pretty serious muscles.

Then I find myself in what seems to be a bar, but I am with the choir, and they are doing a concert. I haven't been around for rehearsals, and am not a part of it, but as they start singing, I find it is all Gaither songs, and I can't help but sing along. We're now several songs in, and one has just finished, and somebody is on a bar stool next to me. I think it is Laura S., and she leans to me and very nastily tells me to either quit singing, or get out! Even though I've been singing great because I know all the Gaither songs perfectly. [Don't think I have ever exchanged a cross word with her, no idea where this dream bit came from.]

Without a word, I bend to pick up my backpack, and start to leave. She calls after me that Carl has things to do, so can't give me a ride home, and something about being ready on time on Sunday if I want a ride to church? She didn't think so! And I really don't have a clue why she is upset with me, but I must not have a car, currently, from all she is saying.

I walk out of the church, and it turns out to be the church in Buena Park, and I start to walk home. It's only a couple of miles, not all that far. I pass through Servant's Heart, where they are talking about one of the people now constantly visiting or living at Rosemary's (the tall guy with curly black hair) and they are saying something about how they gave him some money and he went out and got sloshed on it ... never again money for him.

By this point, I have walked through the flower neighborhood down to Dale, and have reached La Palma, and am preparing to jaywalk across to Food King, but the traffic is really heavy. Right about when I am going to bolt across, a car pulls up. It has nothing to do with me, but since I know the person, I stop and say hi. It is Tracey M (also from choir) who is either picking up or dropping off somebody.

Soon I make it across the street, and soon make it home to the Hickory house, where I head into the house and move to my first bedroom, where I plan to go to sleep. I am remembering just a tiny bit about whatever the earlier bit here at the Hickory house was about, and how at least dad wasn't alive in the dream, so it is catching up with reality. Meanwhile, there is a cat in my room, and I am trying to pet it, but it seems to be a stray, so it is skittish, probably has fleas, and it isn't one I know.

[When my dad died, I kept having weird dreams that he came back to help me with my mom's death. Once mom died too, then either parent might show up in my dreams, dead, alive, as a ghost, as having faked their own death, or back in time, before they died, so none of the above applied. Oddly, by the end of this dream I was a little kid, so they would have both been alive, yet I was glad my dreams were catching up enough to remember dad was dead.]
