      Lost Dog

Just a very short dream of me looking for my dog. I was riding in the back seat of a car, my grandmother was driving, and my mother was in the passenger seat. We were driving through Loudonville apparently looking for my dog that ran away. We turned left onto main street and I saw my dog standing on the side walk as we turned.

"Hey! I saw my dog back there!" I told them.
      "So?" My grandmother ask.
"So let's go back there and get her?" I asked.
"Fine." She said turning the car around.

As she turned the car around I got that weird feeling again. That feeling where I know something bad is about to happen or there is a nightmare creature nearby. I looked out in front of us and saw a shadow man just standing there in the road. The car stopped in front of him. He didn't move. He just stood there staring at us and that feeling grew stronger. Remembering that I only get this feeling in dreams I decided to plug my nose and look at my hands. I couldn't breathe through and my hands looked normal. I kept trying over and over again because it just didn't seem right that I would be awake. The next thing I know, my grandma became impatient and ran the shadow man over.

I woke up after trying another reality check. When I had awaken I couldn't move. I was stuck in sleep paralysis again. "Crap. Sleep paralysis again." I thought. "3, 2, 1, FLAIL!" I thought to myself before I managed to roll over. I was apparently still too tired and relaxed though because I got stuck in sleep paralysis again right after. This time I decided to see what would happen if I let it happen. I lied there for 10 seconds before it felt like someone kicked me in the spine. Then I decided to just get up for a minute to unrelax myself.

    2. January 26, 2012 WILD Attempt

by , 01-26-2012 at 09:03 PM (Jenos's Garden of Dreams)
After working out (more intense than I usually do) I decided to take a nap. I also decided to try and hit 2 birds with one stone and attempt another WILD.

      WILD Attempt #7
I lie down, turn on my white noise app (which is turning out to be very helpful) and close my eyes. I remember how much trouble I have with concentrating on my eyelids and throw a hat on over them for extra measure. After 15-20 minutes something is happening that hasn't happened before. My legs feel like they are floating off into the air. My arms quickly follow. Could I finally have reached sleep paralysis. I see some kind of picture in front of me. It looks like a glowing blue spiders web (Not the round kind, a more disorderly web, random patterns and all the wonderful stuff). My heart starts beating hard, not fast, but hard. I feel like my heart has moved right up into my head, it is literally pulsating. Everything calms down after about 20-30 seconds. Am I in a dream now? Probably not, I can hear the white noise and feel that hat around my head. I may as well check though. I take the hat off, plug my nose and breathe. Alas, I'm awake.

      Considerable progress though

    3. SP Diary Entry #1

by , 01-03-2012 at 09:28 AM (Lucid Lucy's Dream Explorations)
I'm going to keep a log of my Sleep Paralysis experiences, just for my own record, motivation and of course, for others to read

This morning I woke up at 2.30 am, remembered 3 dreams and wanted to write them down.. ..but my DJ was left on my computer desk and I didn't feel like getting up. I also totally forgot I can blog from my phone XD Hey, it was 2.30 am

So I just lay there, contemplating on the dreams in an attempt to remember them in the morning (which worked, btw!). Then I felt myself get heavy and thought I'd attempt a WILD.

I kept thinking of my favourite subject to be thinking about before bed: Dominiq (recurring DC, I've kinda fallen in love with him). I used him as my anchor of consciousness. Then I felt the familiar numbness and started to hear things (HH), but thought "NO, I don't want to hear shiz!" so I moved my elbow slightly. Then it kinda felt like my hand was upside down, but my arm was not like my wrist was twisted. It didn't hurt though. I could still move my arm and hand and they felt fine. Then the feeling returned and I just let it be, occasionally trying to move a limb until I couldn't anymore.

I was in SP. I didn't hear anything but noise (which I was fine with), and a total of three vibration waves washed over me. Then when none seemed to come anymore, I tried getting up. I felt really strange like my body didn't bend as it normally would when you sit up from lying-down position. I also had trouble opening my eyes fully, but it didn't matter. I noticed it was pitch black in my room, whereas it should be dimly lit by street lights..

I didn't even bother doing a reality check, lol.
    4. Entry #4 - The Nightmare Film

      by , 12-20-2011 at 01:23 AM
      I took a nap today from 2pm - 4pm.

In the dream I was someone else. According to Jung's theory it was my persona. I was part of the cast of a horror movie, except everything seemed so real, it might have been just me thinking "wow, this is just like a movie." I was with three others in a white, crappy car heading for a lakehouse.

In waking life I had read a creepypasta (a scary short story) about a woman staying with her grandmother in her basement. Her mother died and soon she began to see her mother in her basement, so she boarded it up, afraid.
In the dream this woman needed our help. I don't know what significance we had, but we went to her house on a lake.
Her home was on an island, surrounded by fir tree. Everything was more vivid than usual.
There was a rotting old boardwalk that crossed the lake to her island .This boardwalk branched out. At the end of one branch was a few boys playing. at another end the boardwalk rotted and there were alligators. For some reason I chose to head that way instead of onward to the house.
At this point I think I realized I was dreaming. Things were weird - I felt as though it was a video game and I was looking over my boyfriend's shoulder, telling him how to beat the level.
      I woke up.

But I wasn't awake - it was sleep paralysis. I have SP often, but never this severe. It was hard to breathe, and I could feel the struggle for air. I was frightened of the strange, loud rumbling sound. My HH are usually whispers. I had fallen asleep on my right side, in my boyfriend's house, on his bed. At the foot of his bed are three large construction signs - one specifically reading 'DO NOT ENTER' in traditional black and white pattern. I remember it being reversed, the colors flipped. I could only open one eye, and could read it very vividly on the sign. My vision was shaking, so it was hard to read. I looked over, and I could see who my boyfriend was talking to on Skype - read their names clearly. I thought, "Perhaps this is a false awakening." I couldn't move to check reality, so I felt it was just SP. So I went back to sleep.

My boyfriend - someone who I felt was my real boyfriend, but didn't look like him - and I were circling the house alone. there was a pair of basement doors against the white-sidled, Victorian - era house on the island. My boyfriend didn't see them and was standing on them. I shouted to him just before I slipped out of the dream.

I was in SP again. I looked at the digital clock on the wall - 3 pm. I was terrified. I'd never had two bouts of SP like this, same time, one right after the other before. I tried to fight it - something that usually works for me. The rumbling and my usual HH were there, though the hands crept up the side of the bed because I couldn't see the door. it was very hard to breathe, and the same words kept rattling in my head as if someone was saying them to me - "If you keep speaking I'll make that creepy smile." I tried to talk - I could open my mouth, and say "Aah!" softly. My boyfriend's name is Austin. I was trying to call out to him, afraid, but I was so quiet and he had headphones on, talking to people on skype. I tried again, but after "aah" I couldn't form the 'st' part. My tongue was thick and breathing was a struggle. I think I almost passed out. I fought my SP as hard as I could - I usually can break from it without too much trouble.

I was in SP today for an hour and a half.
when I snapped out of it I gasped for air, which caused Austin to turn around and come to me. I know it was SP because he says he heard my going "Aah!" softly, but didn't think much of it. I was so scared and weak and lightheaded. My mind is still a little dizzy. I was very thirsty. My body still feels suppressed.
    5. Entry # 1 - Slipping

      by , 12-07-2011 at 09:21 AM
This is my first entry in my Dream Journal, to help me on my way to lucid dreaming.
I went to bed very tired at about 9 pm. I laid in bed for n hour on my back, counting my slow breaths until I felt that familiar sensation of sleep paralysis, pushing down on me. I could be very aware of my surroundings, is the best way I can describe it, where even though I know my eyes are closed and I cannot open them, I can see my bedroom clearly. This usually would fade after a few moments and I would slip into a regular dream, which I'll get to later.
Perhaps the difference was that tonight I tried to slip into SP on my own, instead of when it usually happens for me - right after vivid REM sleep, usually with intense HH. Tonight I had little HH, for once - only soft whooshing sounds, faint shaking of my environment (as if in an earthquake), and pressure on my body. Maybe I was scaring myself - my SP is often frightening, and I kept remembering violent HH I had had in the past.
Anyway, once I was in a twilight-state of paralysis and wakefulness, I'd somehow hear the phrase in my head, "Am I dreaming?", followed by a horrible sense of dread, which would jolt me from my attempt. Another possible variable is that I have a headcold, therefore my breathing is irregular, often slowing or picking up speed.

I eventually fell asleep after giving up around 10:15. It's now exactly two hours later. For once I don't remember much, seeing as out of habit I tried to just fall back asleep as opposed to trying to focus on the more intense parts of my dream. I'll be going back to bed in a few moments, trying again a few times to enter the middle-state on my own terms.

My first attempt to enter a LD/Sleep Paralysis
I laid down and relaxed, started to meditate, keeping my mind awake but letting my body fall apart from my mind. After about 30-35 minutes, I started hearing weird thumping noises. Then I had an OBE, and my "body" sank a foot into the bed, while my head remained on the pillow. After an excitement awakening, I must have drifted off and woken up 2 hours later. Then sporadic dreams throughout the night that I couldn't recall.

    7. Floating SP

      by , 10-28-2011 at 09:14 PM
      10/21/11

      SP

      This occurred during a nap.

I was laying there and dozing off when I felt like I was close to SP. I focused and tried to roll out of my body. I felt my arms start to extend over my head, although I knew my real body was not moving. I tried to get out of bed and I started floating up a few feet. As I tried to open my dream eyes, I woke up. I tried it again and the same thing happened. This time I floated for awhile and started drifting across my room. But once I tried to stand up, I woke up again.

      ---

I'm laying on my side beside a few friends and a television set. Next to the television there are several cases of nitrous oxide that seem to appear almost out of thin air. I grab one and so does my friend, pull the trigger, and inhale. We lock eyes. She's follows my every action. I now notice the dimness of my setting as I set the canister beside me and the gas leaks from its nozzle: a bland looking apartment building living room. There is a sense of bleak hopelessness, but not overwhelmingly and it's definitely comes with a drag of content. I warn my companions not to smoke or light a match while the gas is fogging the vision between us.

Suddenly, I get that feeling you get when your tooth is about to get pulled. Sure the giddy lightheadedness from the nitrous, but more so the overwhelming feeling of being strapped to a chair. There is a detached chattering in the back of my head. I realize I'm dreaming, only I'm still stuck. I realize after a moment of struggling that I'm stuck in a transitional state between waking and sleeping. The chatter is the sound of my professor's voice pulsating through my bedroom. I wake up, realizing what a failed attempt this was at laying in bed and still trying to pay attention to my online class.

    9. Non-dream - WILD Attempt - Tingling and Noises - Nausea

      by , 10-13-2011 at 01:31 AM (GypsyDiver's Dream Bible)
Every Wednesday I take a nap, so today I thought I'd try some a WILD. I had three attempts in all.

The first isn't even worth mentioning.

During the second attempt, I began counting my breaths. As usual, I started to feel very relaxed around breath 60, and by 100 I had started seeing some swirly colors. Then I heard this noise like... I can't quite remember, kind of a buzzing, maybe, off to my right. I wondered if this was a hallucination, because it sounded like it was real, right there in the room. I tried to get my mind back on track counting. After a little, my hands, which were resting on my legs, started to feel like they had fused to me. I has all tingly and numb. I was sure I was going into SP, and got really excited, but still tried to calm down. I counted breaths and let my heart rate decrease, but nothing else seemed to happen. Then, my eyes opened on their own.

I was so frustrated! I was sure I had gotten close. I thought, maybe I was too awake, so I laid on my side and got sleepy and tried again. This time, I didn't have any visual hallucinations, either, but I'm sure there were audial ones, because after about 100 breaths again I heard this loud bass sound, like a car was blasting rap. I could almost feel it, and it was so loud. I started to lose track of where I was counting, and eventually the noise faded away. After that, I remember trying to lose track of my body, and focus inward, but I kept feeling like my hand was upside down. It was a weird sensation: I knew my hand was palm down on my leg, but it felt like it was palm up. I kept focusing on it, even thought I knew I shouldn't. I also lost myself in thought a lot, losing the number of breaths I had taken. Near 400-something, I gave up, knowing if I didn't stop, I'd just fall asleep.

Of course, after all three attempts, I did RCs.
Something to note, and I wrote about it in the forums. When I got up after the third attempt, I felt really nauseous and sick for about ten minutes.

I thought I'd post these, uninteresting as they are, because I left my real DJ at the other house. If I don't write about them, I'll regret it.
    10. Sp #2

      by , 10-11-2011 at 11:33 AM
      Fell asleep @ ~23:30-24:00
      Woke up @ 6:15

Went to take a shower all groggy, decided to go back to bed because of headache, thinking a SP would probably work now.

      Lie down for 2 seconds.
I hear the sound of steel rotating.
I open my eyes to see that my vision is vibrating, and the room is looking as if someone had applied a TV noise effect to it.
Lasted for 10 seconds even though I moved my eyelids, then stopped by itself.

    11. Nap SP

      by , 08-20-2011 at 12:09 AM
      8/19/11

      SP

I had been laying down, not really that tired, for awhile. At some point, my daydream formed some visuals. I was able to see someone talking to me and then I turned and saw a door. I snapped out of it right as the door image somehow scrolled up in my visual field. (As if I had been watching it and lowering my view slowly.)

I am laying in my bed, and I realized that my daydream scenario started to play out. As I close my eyes, I can still see the image of the door scrolling up, and it is continuous. So as I laid there, I watched as this endless door structure faintly scroll upward. I could still move, but I knew I was close. I tried to WILD and felt each breath sinking me deeper.

I exhaled a breath that really sank me in the bed. It felt like my body was distorting a bit as I sank like 5 inches. The vibrations kicked in. Also, I felt my whole body rotate like 70 degrees in the bed. The images went away. I waited a few seconds trying to make HI or waiting for more vibrations when I fell out of SP.

It is also important to note that I napped earlier in the day after getting like 5.5 hours of sleep the night before. That may be why I had trouble getting into REM.

    12. No dream, but experimenting with SP.

      by , 08-16-2011 at 04:00 PM
Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been as active in the DV community as of late, I was (and still kind of am) going through a bit of a dry spell so I am focusing on meditation and WILD technique.

So this isn't really a dream entry but some stuff I thought would be cool to get down about my experimentation with sleep paralysis. For the past couple of weeks I've been allowing my body to go numb and enter into sleep paralysis while keeping my mind awake. I have been doing this successfully by laying flat on my back on my bed and allowing my body just to get taken by the feeling of the paralysis. I haven't been able to fall asleep in this state however. I mean its good for experimentation but sucks when I can't go to sleep. I don't usually sleep lying on my back so my mind doesn't want to go to bed when I do this.

At first I just would lie there and let my mind wonder and let my body just slip into SP. I would feel like I was in that roller coaster ride "The Gravatron." (where you are pinned to the wall and can't move) I was pinned to my bed and it almost felt like my bed had flipped over and I was stuck to it as if it were the ceiling. I would be hanging over a bottomless pit. I would do this nightly. Eventually it wouldn't take hardly any time at all for me to get into SP.

Last night I had sort of a break through of sorts. I have been researching into occult practices, and I had read of a practice that if you meditate while laying down, and you place a crystal in each hand, and one on your chakra point on your forehead (your third eye) you would "charge" or enhance your psychic ability. I tried such a method last night. I even had a particular crystal that is supposed to help with dream vividness and recall. I placed this one on my third eye.

The SP felt like normal at first, my limps going numb and everything. But I started to feel a weight press down right on my rib cage and my stomach. Then I felt a weight on my head, ( I could actually feel my head sink into my rather firm pillow). I didn't think anything of it til something just kicked in. I am not sure what it was or what it means but I was just lying there thinking about random thoughts (I.e. what I have to do before work the next day..etc) Then all those thoughts went silent, in fact ALL of my thoughts were cut off and my mind was completely clear. And it was like my thoughts were cut off mid sentence. Right after my mind just cut off my thoughts I immediately began to hear a low "hum" or more like I could hear a vibration. A few seconds after this started a high pitched ring was layered over top of the vibration. I had no control over this and I couldn't really think of anything else, it was like all my brain wanted to do was listen to this hum.

I opened my eyes and could see the air swirl in spirals above me. And that's when the ride started.....my body began to feel like it was stuck to the bed again, only this time it felt like I was never going to move again and I felt like my entire bed was rotating and spinning while I was strapped down. The crystals felt very warm and almost hot in my hands. The crystals almost rolled out of my hands (or at least it felt like this while my bed was spinning) and I had to enclose my fingers around them to keep them in place.

I think this went on for a good half hour to 45 min before I snapped back to this plane, put the crystals away, and went to bed.
    13. Sleep Paralysis

      by , 07-16-2011 at 10:33 AM
I could hear the familliar sound of sleep paralysis coming from a distance. Soon it was all over me and my breathing got slower. I waited to see what would happen and then I felt something grab my ankles.
I was dragged out of my bed, and found myself standing right next to it.
I looked down and saw myself sleeping (OBE). I poked myself and the body sat bolt upright in the bed. It was quite werid to look straight into the eyes of myself. Excited I said to my mirrorimage: Is this cool or what!? He quickly aswered, hell yeah! then the floor dissapeared underneath me and I fell. I saw shadows flying past me and then in the distance I could see a floor. It was as if I fell from the ceiling of a very very tall room. I smacked against the floor and stood up quickly. I was in a playroom filled with creepy toys such as clowns and rubber ducks. I was about 10 cm tall from what I could tell. I quickly looked down on my hands just to make sure I was dreaming, fingers where popping out everywhere, so I didn't bother counting them (RC). The first thought I had was that I needed to get out of here. I turned around and saw a door in my size. I ran for it and flung it open. I stepped out onto a large beach. The doorpost where standing all by itself in the sand. There was a sofa beside it and a small tree. In the tree there was a bird with a large beak looking curiously at me. ''What did you want to tell me?'' The voice came from a girl sitting in the sofa. (I must admit, I was pretty lost at this point ) She got up and walked towards me and then I woke up I was lucid throughout the dream but I think my subconscious got the better of me
    14. 10-20 seconds to end my dryspell, but it is a start (WILD)

      by , 07-03-2011 at 12:49 PM
      non-dream - non-lucid - lucid

03-07-11 I slid out of bed during WILD attempt and knew I was dreaming as I never lost consciousness. When I feel a tingle down my right arm I recognise it as paralysis. I start experimenting. I start off by being able to move a phantom arm outside my normal arm and then things pick up speed as I rotate within my body. After this I slide out of the bed somewhat falling somewhat levitating.

My room had a wall where the windows normally are and there were two tellies. Another difference is that there is a guitar hanging above the computer table accompanied by some strange decorations. I start falling through the floor and my breathing is impaired, which frightens me a bit. Although I am fully separated from my physical body location wise I can still feel my breathing and I draw in a deep breath. I decide to brave it and although the image is fading I shout out “I want to remain lucid” (I actually scream this in English though it is a second language). At first my voice is blurry and I am having trouble getting the words out. This isn't new to me however so I scream it again and again. Might do it 4 times in total. As the dream stabilise a bit I notice it is sunny outside so I go towards the window intending to find Mitzu (to clarify if that yellow eyed man eater is actually my dream guide). I start calling her name and start flying through the window. For a brief second I expect problems with the window, but to my surprise I manage to go through it with no issues, however it is as if I am looking from inside the glass for a substantial amount of time, which distorts my vision a bit blurring things. My flight is working fine and as I look down I notice a lot of clutter on the terrace below, some of it is plants the rest I don't figure out in time as the dream ends.

Notes: This was an unintentional WILD. I had tried for an hour before with no success after 2-3 hours of pre-sleep. Think I was too caught up in awareness when I compare the first try with this. Second time I kept sorta singing the Hakuna Matata (LK-WILD FTW!! ^^) mantra as I really wanted to rest, seeing I am ill and all. There were some few spontaneous breath focusing when I saw HHs, but very limited awareness compared to the almost meditative states I experienced before. This mini-awareness was enough for me to recognise though when SP kicked in and I just went for it.

    15. My Anima

      by , 06-25-2011 at 07:59 PM
So I only remember the very end of this dream, but it's ok, since that's the important part. I'm in my kitchen. for some reason there's a barbie doll on the counter wearing all black. I remember, in the dream, that I've seen that before in my house. I don't know why, but I run into the office to ask about it, since that's where my grandmother is always. The office is changed. There's a sofa along the right-hand wall, on which that woman is sleeping. Every time I've gone into the office, I dream-remember, she's been there. Then the dream goes black. I sit lying on my bed, believing I'm awake, and analyze it. I notice some characteristics about the woman. From what I can tell of her she's tall, like me, but that's the only similarity. She has short-ish hair, where I keep my hair long-ish. She wears clothes in scene style, where as I wear sorta nerdy clothes. I think she's thin, whereas I'm sorta portly. She's also really attractive, which is a quality I do not possess. At this point I realize she is like the manifestation of all the qualities I don't have. I think in my head. I think that's my anima. BOOM! I start lucid dreaming. I jump back to the office, and I have enough time to start to float before I see the woman's eyes open up. For some reason this startles me, and I wake up in my bed not able to move. But that's just sleep paralysis...
