      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      I managed, for the first time, to chain the next three lucid dreams together in one morning. I must be getting somewhere with all this!

      I was playing a game of Halo 3, on a map called Last Resort, one of my favourites. It was just a mess-around game, and I wanted to tweak the settings to reduce the effect of gravity so I could fly. Having done this, I realised, "I can't fly..." even though I was in the role of a video game character. I became lucid there. I decided I'd had enough playing Halo 3, and I was suddenly in my own house. What I realised after waking up was that the house I was in was a clever amalgamation of the three houses I've lived in during my life, plus my dad's current house. However it all seemed normal at the time. I was wearing pyjamas. There was mess everywhere, like a party had been had. There were a lot of my possessions that I hadn't seen in years lying around the floor. I tried to fly around the house. I jumped up in the air, higher than I normally wound have been able to, and on the descent, I hovered about a foot above the floor. I then kept this up and floated around the house. I said to my brothers, "Hey, look at this!" They seemed impressed.

      I went outside with the intention of flying much higher. I was slightly worried about this because any time I've ever tried to fly unaided in a dream in my life, I've got to a certain height, shat myself (not literally) and plummeted. I told myself though, that it was only a dream and I couldn't actually injure myself. (Turns out this doesn't make heights any less scary!) Some people in the street looked at me strangely for wearing pyjamas, but I didn't care. I flew up to the height of a street light, but had real difficulty going any higher, or staying at that height. I grabbed onto the top of a pillar made of bricks and dangled off it quite comfortably. Then a grey car pulled up outside and out stepped some of my friends' parents, come to pay a visit. I guided them inside, floating of course, and told them to ignore the mess. In the living room I found my old friend Lucie lying on the setee. "'The fuck are you doing here?" I asked her. She didn't reply and I found myself losing the dream.

      Flying and Skateboarding (DILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      I can't remember what I was dreaming about prior to becoming lucid, but the first thing I remember is coming into possession of a flying elephant. It was a much larger version of Dumbo and could probably seat about six. I remembered the basic task of the month for October on dreamviews- "Scare a DC", and decided to take a woman standing near me for a ride on the elephant. I controlled the elephant, sitting on top of its neck (the driving seat I assume!) while she sat on the top of one of the huge flapping ears, close to the head. We flew low at about 90mph through a city which had lots of things overhanging the streets and bridges to go over/under. It felt a bit like swinging through trees, so I started singing the George of the Jungle song, and the woman joined in. I made the ride deliberately extreme to try and scare my passenger, but nothing worked. She said, "Sure this is a dream, it's not even real!" I was annoyed so I jumped off the elephant and it flew away into the distance. I recognised the city I was standing in as Paris. The street went downhill for as far as I could see and I had a desire to skateboard down it.





      I knew I couldn't skateboard in real life, but that didn't matter. I took off down the street on a board, and basically grinded along the railings on the side the whole way down. I hopped from railing to railing as fast as I could think of where to grind next. I jumped over the tops of cars coming the other way and landed on the other side of the road a few times. When the road became level at the bottom of the hill, I finished up my ride by deliberately landing heavily on a low railing and snapping the board in half with the force of the impact.

      I felt like I should maybe try and integrate myself better into the dream, so I felt everything around me carefully and paid close attention to the feel of the peeling paint on the railings. I even did a reality check for the first time (in a dream).
      My reality check is to look at my hands and count how many fingers I have on each hand, then turn my hands over and double-check. When I counted my fingers, I found that I couldn't quite tell how many there were. The first time I looked, there were seven on my left hand (which I checked first), and when I looked again, there were six. My hands also looked more like a womans, with longer nails.


      Having been fully convinced I was dreaming, I walked over to a nearby kebab cart on a busy street corner with the intention of trying some food or a cold drink to test my other senses. The cart was the size of a large van and had lots of vats of food. I grabbed an ice cube out of one and a handful of doner kebab strips out of another and crammed everything in my mouth. The kebab meat was delicious, and although I could feel the ice cube getting crunched up and melted in my mouth, it didn't seem as cold as I expected. Maybe I don't have sensitive teeth in my dreams. :S I wasn't actually hungry, so I spat what I was eating back into the pile of food, to the disgust of several onlookers. I saw my brother eating out of a cantine farther along the cart, and I asked him what was good to eat. He directed me to a drinking fountain. I saw that the water flowing from the tap had steam coming off it and I thought, "I don't want to drink hot water!" So I ignored it and walked on.

      Sleepwalking at a Swimming Pool (DILD)

      I know the dream I was in was extremely long and involved but can barely remember enough to make it worthwhile typing it out. I remember the lucid part though.

      I suddenly found myself sitting on a wall at the edge of a swimming pool. I was on holiday with my family somewhere warm. The first thing I did was reach down and feel the wall with my hands to increase the vividness. It worked, but not significantly. I got up and walked over to the diving board, past my dad in a deck chair. I then had a false awakening. I actually dreamed that I had been sleepwalking along the side of the swimming pool, and that the scenario I was in was actually real life. I don't know how my subconscious managed to trick me into believing I was sleepwalking, in the middle of the day, at a crowded swimming pool. All I remember after "waking up" is thinking, "God, it's lucky I woke up, imagine if I had drowned!"

    4. A Day In The Medieval Japan

      When i first came into the dream in started a weird place. I was standing on a huge patch of flat grassland. I was kind of confused, since i normaly start in a farmiliar place. Then all of a sudden an arrow comes flying towards me from the back, but since i have a reasonable amount of control in my dreams, i managed to dodge the arrow. I look behind me, and on a hill, i see three mounted archer's. But these archer's weren't normal. They wore samurai armor. Then i remembered. I had earlier watched a samurai documentary, and that was probably the reason why i was here. The first thing that comes to mind, is to kill them. But sadly, i have a hard time using powers in dreams, and there is no way i could take down three elite archer's by myself, without powers. I decide to put up my hands to signal that i do not intent to attack. They ride down towards me and as they did, i prepared for end of the lucid dream(i wake up when i die in lucid dreams). But they stop as they arrive at where i stand. They ask me what i am doing here. The most logical answer would be to say that it was all a dream. But i thought that this might be intersting, so i played along and said that i was a farmer, and that i had gotten lost from my farm. One of them asks me how one can be so stupid, that they get lost from their own farm. I was thinking that too, but i couldn't really come up with any other good explanation. One of them asked me how i dodged the the arrow so easily. I said that i could hear it coming. Then something that i can't remember happens. And they ask me if i would like to join their army, and server under their feudal lord. I was thinking that instead of serving the Daimyo, i could take over his land. So in an attempt to get free of these guards, i tried to fire an attack. I can't quite remember what attack it was, but i think it was a fireball. They all three died. I now got a rush in my body, and i tried to fly, it worked!. I began to fly towards the Daimyo's castle, i just thought to myself "i know the location of the Daimyo's castle" and i suddenly did. I flew over to the quite good looking castle blew a hole in the top of the tower, and entered. There the Daimyo was. He began to cry and begged not to get killed, but i didn't care, i made in commit zeppuku(suicide). I then went down to the city sorrounding the castle and announced that i was now Daimyo of the city, i can for some reason clearly remember the name of the region i was Daimyo of, it was called Yume, (i googled the name when i woke up and found out that it means "dream"^^). So anyway, one of the guards asked me if i was interested in helping my army in battle. I of course said yes and got dressed up in this really cool samurai outift and it had my name on the should plates^^. I rode to the battle on horse(first time i rode in a LD). When i arrived my guard announced that i was the new Daimyo of Yume, and the samurai warriors cheeried, that was cool. I then together with my army slaughtered the enemy army. When the battle was over i announced that i would try to take over Japan with this army. As we marched back towards the capital of the region i decided that i wanted to exit. I just closed my eyes and repeated the following sentence five times "i want to exit this dream" and when i opened my eyes i was laying in my bed. All in all, this was a good dream, and i really enjoyed it. I am certainly going to visit this place again, luckily, im good at returning to places ive been to before in my dreams.

    5. The Dream of the Children stranded on Two Islands

      This dream has two distinct parts, but they are definitely related through their themes.
      In the first part, I am one of the inhabitants of two islands. The two islands are pretty small, but high, maybe of volcanic origin. They're pretty preserved, as far as I can see, there aren't many tracesof human settlement.
      Deep on the sea bed, there is a tunnel joining the two islands. The tunnel room closest to West Island is room 2400, the room closest to East Island is room 2100. The workers of the tunnel have decided to go on a strike that day. I work in the tunnel too and I wonder if I should work that day or not.

      There are several children living on both islands, but mainly East Island. A baby is born or has been left on a beach to the north-east of West Island, and a child from East Island comes to pick it up in a little boat. But since he doesn't want to be seen by any of the adults (maybe because they would take the baby), he asks a teen girl to come with him. This teen girl has an identical tween who has a young child, so if they're caught, they can always claim that she is the twin and that it is her child.


      Part two

      The children have all been forced to flee to a beach on the south side of East Island. They all live on the beach, which is closed off the rest of the island by foredunes and cliffs. They've built shelters out of driftwood and seem to have settled quite some time ago.
      I then realize that it is silly that they should be locked off the rest of the island just by a dune, so I decide to fly over it (metaphorically, since I'm not bodily present in the dream) to see the other side of the dune.
      I can see that there's a sort of desert with a few trees and bushes sprouting here and there, and a little pond near the beach. I assume that's were the stranded kids get their drinkable water.
      A caravan is coming. Some of the men are wearing bedouin clothes while others are dressed like Westerners.
      I then decide to embody an adult man. I talk with the head of the caravan. He tells me about the two Westerners, one at the beginning of the caravan, one at the end. The one in front is sick, while the one in the back has a broken arm which needs to be put back together.
      I nominate myself doctor of the stranded children and decide to help the two men while the kids deal with the caravan. I hear the leader of the kids tell the leader of the caravan "Welcome to Thoninnio", so I gather that's the name of the settlement.
      The first man is in his late thirties and has short, light hair with blue eyes. He looks very kind and, while I auscult him, tells me that he broke the other guy's arm. They were previously lovers but they had a row about the children of one of them (I think his, but I am not sure) and in the row he seized the other's arm and accidentally broke it. He wishes he could help but his ex won't let him near him. I'm a bit disappointed because he was so hot and kind, I would have liked to hook up, but too bad!
      I ask if there's anything I can do to help them reconcile, but he explains apologetically that he went too far in the row and that he deserves what he got, and there's probably no way to fix things between them.
      I then move to take care of the second guy. He's younger, late twenties or early thirties, with jaw-length hair, and looks vere bitter. He doesn't want to chat, so I just pull his arm and snap the bone back into place.
      And then I woke up and quickly found a trick to remember the name of the settlement before going back to sleep.

    6. 06/18/10 Book of Darkness: Access Denied

      Note: The rest of what happened in this night consists of dream fragments. There are several fragments here, and I am listing them all together.

      *The Simpsons*
      I was watching an episode of the Simpsons on television. Bart Simpson was sitting in his bedroom working on some kind of a computer. He was laughing as he typed things in. The scene shifted to the Simpsons living room. Suddenly I was sitting on the couch between Homer and Lisa. Marge was in the kitchen doing something, Maggie was on the floor sucking her pacifier, Santa's Little Helper was curled up and sleeping, I had Snowball II on my lap purring. I watched the news. Kent Brockman was giving the news.

      "So rest assured, my fellow alcoholics," Brockman said, "The next shipment of beer is already on its way. In other news… uh… you really want me to read that?! Ok… not that this is news… everyone knows that… alright! I'm reading it! In other news, Homer Simpson's butt has been assigned its own zip code, and is now officially known as the largest ass in the world. Better watch out if that one farts! Hahaha… um… you don't seriously want me to do that, do you? But seriously… Alright! Yes, I want to keep my job!" Brockman climbed up on the news desk, turned his back to the camera, dropped his pants, bent over, started mooning the camera and bobbing his butt in rhythm to My Humps by the Black Eyed Peas… "My butt… my butt… is smaller than Homer's butt… My ass… my ass… would fit up Homer's ass…"

      Homer was getting madder and madder. He finally turned off the television and went upstairs to Bart's room. Lisa and I were following, looking to see the train wreck about to happen up there. Homer barged into Bart's room and snatched the laptop device from Bart, telling him it is wrong to mess with the news and to stop making that poor reporter look like a fool… Homer took the device and went back downstairs. He set the device on the coffee table. He watched the news a bit more, it was the weather… and then went back to Kent Brockman. Homer kept looking sideways at the laptop. He finally picked it up and started typing on it and laughing like a kid.

      "And today in sports," Brockman was saying, "… uh… come on, people, seriously? Alright, alright… Highlights in sports today include a new contest that is all the rage here in Springfield. The person to drop the most scorpions down Ned Flanders' pants will receive a special trophy commemorating the length of time it takes before Flanders is able to sit without pain."

      "Hey, Homer!" Bart said, having just come downstairs, "How come you get to play with it and I don't?!" Insert canned laughter here…

      *Nexus of Worlds*
      I was in a hallway. I was walking down the hallway, and I could see there were doors on both sides of the hall. All of the doors looked the same, and the hall appeared to go both ways from where I was without any sign of ending. It looked like a typical office hallway. But there was no end in sight. I walked down the halls for a ways and looked at one of the doors. I wondered where all of them went. I opened a door and found myself staring out into the vastness of space. Stars, a distant galaxy, a comet flew by… and amazingly there was no pressure change, I didn't get pulled out into the vacuum… I closed the door and went to the next one. It opened into a human rainforest. There was something in the trees approaching fast… I closed the door. Another door led to a raging flame. Was the building on fire now? I shut the door and kept going… Another door led to a scorched desert… the next to a cave… and the next to… waking up.

      *Book of Darkness*
      I was in my bedroom. I was lucid. I was sitting on my bed looking at what appeared to be an ancient book. The book was locked closed tight. I wanted to get the book open. I looked at the book very closely. I was looking for some kind of keyhole or lock that was keeping the latches in place. I couldn't find one. I wondered how I could possibly get it open… I played with the latches a bit, but it was getting nowhere. I thought maybe I could ask Q. When I thought of him, Q appeared as if I had summoned him. He looked at the latches. He said those were energy locks. They would only be released with a certain energy flow. I wondered what the book would want… I tried to use a flow of stable dark energy to prove I could control that energy once I had it. The book vibrated in my hands but didn't open. I tried light energy, to show the book I had not given myself completely to darkness… the book vibrated some more, but nothing else happened. I thought maybe I had to use both dark and light… show I can control dark but hadn't gone completely over to it. The book was vibrating quite violently now. Was it going to unlock? Would I finally see inside? I got so excited I woke myself up… Damn!

      *Criminal Mindlessness*
      I was in the living room of a house I didn't recognize. I looked around. It was a very nice looking home, although it was a bit cluttered. There were kids' toys around, a couple of game systems plugged in to a big screen TV, some of the games lying around, a half finished glass of soda on one of the end tables. I wondered where I was and how I had gotten there… I was about to sneak back out before I got in trouble when I heard a scream from the basement. I headed down the stairs to the basement. The basement was an unfinished basement, with the wall beams still visible. There were people tied tightly to those beams… five of them, all naked and gagged. A man, a woman, and three kids that looked to be around 4, 8, and 12 years old. The youngest one was crying openly, it was a little girl. The 8 year old was also a girl, the 12 year old was a boy. There was a large and ugly man pacing in front of the people. There was a pile of charcoal around each of the prisoners. And the man wasn't just pacing… he was squirting something at the coals… it was lighter fluid. The psycho took out a match and prepared to set the charcoal ablaze. All of those details had really only taken me a second to see, and that was all I needed to see…

      "Hey!" I yelled to get the asshole's attention, "Why don't you pick on someone who can fight back?"

      "Ahhh," the man said as he smiled at me, "More fun." He threw the match into the charcoal. The coals didn't burst into flames as I had expected, the flames stayed buried in the coals. The coals were heating up to red hot, and the heat from the coals was burning the people's feet and lower legs. The people were screaming through their gags and struggling pointlessly against their bonds. The man said the music of their screams was perfect for killing to. He came towards me, he was muttering about what he was going to do to me… cut me apart? Let me burn with the others? He said he would have to be inventive with someone foolish enough to walk in on his play time. He said I was making him all hard, so that was the first thing he wanted… he came towards me rather quickly considering his size. He reached out for me and I easily dodged to the side. I wondered what I was going to do now that I had his attention… if only I had a weapon… but then I did! Out of nowhere a sword appeared in my hand. Awesome! I didn't know where it had come from, but it would do great. The man looked quite shocked… and that was also how he looked when he died. Shocked, as my sword ran him through the chest. I went to get the people free. It was a nasty setup. The coals below their feet were smoldering and putting off a lot of heat which was burning their feet and legs badly. They weren't tied to the beams with rope… they were tied tightly there with barbed wire! The barbs were digging into the prisoner's skin in many places. I scattered the coals from their feet first… then I found a wire cutters and cut them free as carefully as I could. The woman seemed oblivious to her wounds as she grabbed each of her children and then her husband in relief that they were all still alive. She then came over and hugged me tightly, thanking me for showing up at the right time. I thought their wounds must be very painful… I was wishing I could do healing IWL. I was thinking about Voices from the Macross Plus soundtrack. The song played… I sang it… and their wounds healed! Wow! Maybe if I wanted it badly enough, magic would work for me IWL! But that hope was crushed when I woke.
    7. 06/18/10 Canyon Defenders

      Note: My list of goals remains long, but I am trying to focus on a couple at a time. Right now I am primarily focused on sharing a DDO dream with Tigress and having both of us remember it and opening that locked book I got from the Akashic Records. With not having my nightly WILD (tonight was no exception) I had better not make my list of goals for one night too long or I will just end up forgetting all of them!

      I was in a bed. I rolled over and got up. I looked around. I was not in my bedroom. I was not in a normal bedroom of any kind. It looked like the kind of bedroom one might see in an inn in an RPG. I wondered how I had gotten there. My first thought was that I needed to get home. My mother would definitely be wondering what had happened to me… I looked for my purse. I would call her. I couldn't find my purse. Shit! Where was it? What was happening here? I would get home as quickly as I could to tell my mother I was ok. So I at least needed my car keys… which were probably in my purse… which I couldn't find. Ok… this wasn't turning out to be a very good situation. I thought my keys might be in my pocket… I searched my pockets… and found I was not dressed as normal. I was wearing some strange clothes that looked like something out of an RPG. Everything was all too strange that I finally decided to do a RC… and then I realized I was dreaming.

      Now that I was lucid, I left the room and found out I really was in an inn. I looked around the room down below and it was a typical RPG pub. I walked around a bit and I could hear everyone talking. They were talking about an impending attack force coming down the canyon. They were talking about their warriors not being strong enough to hold the attack off, and about how it might turn out that their easily defended canyon hiding place might turn out to also be their tomb since there was no way out except through the enemy forces. People were clearly scared shitless, talking about trying to scale the sheer canyon walls or even killing themselves to keep from falling into the cruel hands of the enemies who would no doubt have torturous deaths planned for each and every one of them. From across the room I heard one woman who didn't sound like she had already given up. She was telling the people they needed to fight for their village and not give up no matter how big the enemy forces appeared to be. No one seemed to be listening to her, and when she asked who was with her, no one responded. A few people laughed. I finally spotted her. She was dressed as a paladin, and asked again if there was no one there with the courage to fight. I raised my hand, noting the Witchblade on it, and said loudly that I was willing to fight. She peered out over the crowd and looked directly at me.

      "Raven?!" she asked, "Is that you?"

      I hesitated, not sure how she knew me… then she took off her helmet and I immediately recognized her. It was Tigress! I went directly over to her and climbed up on the table she had climbed onto, using it as a stage to address the people around her. She now told everyone that there were two women willing to fight for their village… were there no others? Were all those men who called themselves warriors going to be shown up by a couple of women? Were there no other women who called themselves warriors willing to stand beside their fellow female fighters? Once again no one responded… there were some embarrassed glances around, some nervous chuckles. I told Tigress that we didn't need these idiots. We could handle whatever attack force there was on our own, and have fun doing it. I said I was ready to take this quest if she was. She gave one more look around the room, announced that everyone in the room was pathetic, and said she was ready to kick some ass.

      So Tigress and I left the pub full of cowards, the people around us were muttering something about that just meant we would be the first to die, and went outside into the village. Tigress must have been there for a while already, as she seemed to know where to go. I followed Tigress. She went to the front gates of the village. There were guards there that didn't want to open the gates. They didn't seem to think two people stood a chance against the invading forces. We insisted on going out. They finally gave in and opened the gates, announcing that if we really felt like committing suicide that they wouldn't stand in the way. After all, everyone in the town would be dead before long when the enemy forces arrived. We went through the gate, the guards shut and barred it behind us. I wondered why they even bothered closing the gates since they were so sure they would be killed anyhow…

      There was a winding path through the canyon. Tigress and I went down the path and around a bend and then we spotted a large number of somethings approaching. We got closer and it turned out there was an entire army of what looked like kobolds. Mixed in among the kobolds were some larger orc type creatures and some that looked like humans. They were all armed with swords, spears, and bows, all in armor. That was definitely a sizable attack force. A hail of arrows shot out of the group at us. Somehow we had been spotted. Tigress had a bow and arrows. She was firing five arrows with each shot. That was an interesting trick. That resulted in a return fire of a hail of arrows, because she was also very fast with shooting them. I saw there were spear warriors just beyond the archers. Those spears up in the air looked like lightning rods! I used Battery and they worked like lightning rods, too. The spear warriors were electrocuted through their own spears. The battle continued. We encountered each other. Tigress and I were both using our swords now, I formed my sword from Withcblade. Both Tigress and I were moving like lightning. Much faster than the kobolds, orcs, and human enemies. Our swords cut through their armor like it was made of tissue paper. Tigress jumped to a couple of rocks and part way up the canyon wall, then she unleashed another rain of arrows. The enemies kept coming. I cut some more down, threw some fireballs at more of them. Tigress got tired of the bow and arrows, changed into a werewolf and jumped down off the canyon wall. She tore into a bunch of the enemies with her claws, leaping from one enemy to the next. In spite of the fact we were sorely outnumbered, we fought until all of the enemies were either dead or retreating… mostly dead. The battle was over.

      Tigress and I returned to the village. The guards on the gate looked quite surprised to see us back in one piece. They were just staring. Tigress said the enemies were all either dead or they had fled for their lives. The guards seemed reluctant to believe that. I noticed for the first time that Tigress had a severed head… yuck. Apparently it was the head of the leader of the enemy forces, as it convinced the guards that we had indeed been victorious. They let us into the village now. Tigress showed the head to prove the danger had passed, at the same time as she made fun of all of those people who called themselves warriors and had not had the guts to go out there and fight for their village. It looked like they weren't sure if they should be happy with us for helping them or annoyed for calling them cowards… but the thing was, that was what they were… a bunch of cowards. Overall, the view of us was that we were some kind of heroes… which I really didn't care about. I told Tigress maybe we could go out and explore a bit. She said sure, but then she disappeared… damn… she must have woken up. The people from the town were silent now, staring at where she had been. They were muttering amongst themselves about what kind of magic she had just used. I thought I could still explore a bit. I took to flight and looked down, wondering which way to go. I had just barely gotten to go anywhere before I woke.

      I cut my melatonin dosage in half last night (about 2.5mcg), which worked like a charm. I took it about 2 hours before bed time. It didn't start making me feel sleepy or anything, but it worked nicely in allowing me to go back to sleep during the morning when I woke up.

      Woke up. Tried to chain the dream and realized I wasn't going to. Ended up losing the dream altogether.

      Random pieces fused in the same dream

      Some of these bits are a bit vague and hard to describe.

      [Office Towers]
      Some suits are standing around outside this office building. They are looking up at one of the floors. I couldn't see what they were staring at, but apparently some chick was dressed really slutty. Someone wonders, "I wonder how many promotions she's got?"

      I looked through the main floor and could see the security desk. They were all wearing suit jackets, ties and slacks (like a typical concierge security), but they were all ill-fitting. The guy next to me says, "Looks like security would be an easy job." He shouts at the girl in the window, "DO YOU LIKE YOUR JOB?!" She mouths out she can't hear him. He repeats his question and she mouths out, "It's fun!"

      [Back at a house]
      I'm at a house I don't recognize. I see Becky walking down the hallway, dressed to the nines and smoking a ciggie. She says she's going out somewhere. I wondered why she wasn't verbally abusing me. Was I with her brother again? I left that thought alone.

      I said something about going out with her, but she was already far ahead of me, so I went in the opposite direction. I went into a restaurant and asked if I could place a take out order. Or, I was about to, but this woman interrupts me, "Are you here to return the salmon?!"

      "Uh, what, sorry?" I ask.

      "Are you here to return the salmon? Customers have been showing up around 10am lately to return their salmon."

      "Um, no. I'm just trying to order some take out," I say.

      "Oh, well, carry on then," she leaves.

      I don't know what to order and the order-taker tells me there's a sample tray of their specials that I can taste test to help me decide (sure enough, there IS a plate, how could I have missed that? ). I see some seschwan noodles, tempura scallops, steamed broccoli and something else. I choose the tempura scallop and have this vague thought about not taking another bite off the free plate, even though I'm hungry. I look over and I see another man is contentedly nomming down on it anyways. Oh well!

      I leave the restaurant and then come back (although it literally looked like a fade out to black, fade in). I see on this paper taped to the order desk that Darren had left replies to two people who had seen him there and left him messages. Wait... Darren was here? And I missed him?! No! I asked the dream to back up just a little. Let him be here again. The replies disappeared and I could see Darren sitting at a table. I became vaguely aware of the fact that I knew I was going to wake up soon, cos I knew this dream had been long enough. I also knew that I had already woken up once between 11 and 2.

      I decided to leave Darren a note. I scrawled out that I was sorry I missed his birthday and I hoped that he really enjoyed it, Love Serenity. I asked the order taker (who was a man now) if he could please deliver this note to Darren. He said he would.

      The dream faded again, but it faded back in. I was standing next to Darren and he had decided to hold a street concert. "For something so last minute, there's a really great crowd turn out!" he comments to me. I agree.
      Dream ends.

    9. First lucid, sort of

      Around 2006-2007



      I was hiking on the left side of a forest-covered valley, a very deep valley with very steep sides. The trees were absolutely huge, and I remember thinking it was one of the coolest dreams I ever had (hence the "semi"-lucid). The scenery reminded me of Rivendell in the Lord of the Rings films...
      I was in company of many people, among whom my father and one of my aunts, and we admired the landscape whilst walking...
      At one point we saw a very long, thin and fragile looking wood bridge that crossed the valley, like 200 feet above the river.
      It was winter and the top of the valley was covered in snow, but as we walked down the snow disappeared.
      The path was narrow, windy and in some places dangerous, the ground crumbling under our feet. As we walked down, we walked under another bridge, a real, solid bridge made of red bricks, we walked near one of its piles...
      Then the trees became even bigger, their roots were enormous, some bigger than us, and covered in green moss, and I remember thinking the trees had to be centuries old.
      Then the little girl downstairs started to have an argument with her mom and I was forced to wake up.

      Synopsis:
      After so many years I finally learn why I dream of high school, years after I've graduated. Lucid, I tell my DCs that this is a dream, and they dissolve back into me. Later, I dream of a boardwalk with a spectacular scene of water

      The Part of Me That Will Never Forget You

      I'm back in high school, getting ready for a big colorguard competition. This is a familiar sight! I've been here before, years ago. I know I've graduated from high school, I know I shouldn't be here. But I don't realize I'm dreaming yet. My team assembles and we perform over a large audience. I'm freaking out! I only remember half of the routine, what do you expect? It's been years!

      After performance I talk to my captain "Lets go over the routine again". I know she's graduated too, so I'm sure she's having trouble remembering. She agrees! Were all rusty and could use some rehearsing. But right now it's break time. In the down time the team separates into their individual cliques and circle of friends. That's when I walk around and really realize something is completely wrong here.


      This team is composed of EVERYONE who I was in colorguard with. But that can't be right. How could this team have seniors from when I was a freshman, and freshman from when I was a senior? The two age groups never went to high school in the same time period! And why am I here? I start to do the math. When I graduated from high school, when I graduated from college, this is insanity! I'm dreaming!


      I quickly run to my closest team members who were off in their own room. I wanted to show them something amazing. To be honest, I was hoping in some way they weren't just dream characters, that I was some how dreaming with my old high school friends. I interrupt their gossip "This is a dream! Let me show you!". I start to levitate in front of them. At first they look at me as though I'm insane. But then they smile and giggle girlishly.


      "It's a dream!" I grab my friend by the hand so I can show her dream flying for herself. I take a quick turn around the room! But when I look at my hand, it's not my friend I'm holding, but some random object. I look around in the room, and all of my friends have turned to objects.


      I know this, I've seen this before dozens of times in dreams. Suddenly I'm talking to a dream character, half way in our conversation I become lucid, I want to continue the conversation now that I'm lucid, but the dream character transforms into some plain old object. Sometimes I ignore the dream transition, and keep talking to the object. . . . . But then it just feels like I'm talking to myself. . . .


      I'm disappointed that my friends aren't dream characters anymore. I just wanted to fly with them.


      I run into the hallway where the rest of the team was assembled. My captain starts talking about our next performance. I shove my way right between all of them, and I levitate.
      "Ahem. . ." My captain seems annoyed that I'm interrupting her all so important lecture. "Look at my feet!". I dangle my toes wish were freely in the air! The freshmen start shouting "Wow!! That's so cool!" But the older members who've known me longer seem really disturbed. Angry, confused, terrified.

      "Whats going on?" The older members ask


      "This is a dream! Don't you see! It's a dream!"


      I wanted so much to dream with them, to make them all lucid and we could all go on some colorguard dreaming adventure together! They look at each other, and suddenly they seem to understand this dream nature. Maybe more than me.


      My captain asks me "If this is a dream, and you're the dreamer, then who are we?"


      The room gets quiet. The whole team waits for my answer. Quiet faces. Happy faces. Anxious faces. I looked into their eyes. My throat tightens up, I could barely say what I'm going to say.
      "You are the part of me that will never forget you."

      The room lightens up! Everyone seems happy! It didn't matter who, or if they were members I didn't get along with, or superficial cliques. In this tiny fraction of time, we were all here together and happy! I wanted so much to dream with them, to have a dream adventure with them. But then instantly before my eyes, they all turn into dolls and animal plushies. 'They' were 'gone', and I was all alone in an empty band hall. With no one to talk to, or be with, except maybe the only person who I have ever talked to or hanged out with in a high school dream -
      myself.

      For the first time, I understood why these dreams seem to haunt. It's simple, I'll never forget them. And these dream character are the part of ME that remind that.


      I leave the band hall and fly outside to find a new lucid dream adventure. But I was still sad at the lonely nature of my dream. My dream becomes a black void, and I don't remember after time.


      The Boardwalk
      After what feels like a long time I'm in a new dream. I'm walking along a huge boardwalk. Water takes on a spectacular scene in front of me. It's as if in the middle of the ocean, there's a water fountain the size of an Egyptian pyramid. The water was pouring from this structure. I can't make out the structure, because the water is pouring from the very top, and veiling it. I watch a giant bird land on this watery structure. Then I realize that's no bird but a dinosaur! I watch another spectacular scene, as a massive boat sails right through the water-pyramid. The boat, still submerged under water, sails right under the boardwalk! I run to the other side of the boardwalk to see it as it passes.


      It was moving at such an incredible speed for such a massive ship, the water around it bubbled up and moved out of it's way! A dream character shouts "Did you see how fast that ship was moving? That was unreal!". It was unreal, it defies the laws of physics!

      I woke up shortly after.
    11. We Dreamers Begin Recreating The World

      Synopsis: Second dream. After becoming lucid I remember why I'm here, to create a dream world with other members of DreamViews. But in the dry desert, I lose my lucidity all too soon.

      We Dreamers Begin Recreating The World
      I'm in a small room, and the atmosphere is comfortable. I'm with friends, but friends to be honest, I barely know. Still I like everyone so far. Some of my new friends are explaining something to me, but I really don't understand it. They're talking about things that seem far-fetched and impossible. Others were turning their crazy ideas into art projects. One slightly plump blonde shows me her artsy project.


      I think the reason why I don't understand the conversation is because it has to do something with lucidity, a conversation I can only understand if I am lucid.


      We go outside to do what were supposed to be doing, but since I didn't understand the conversation, I have no idea what that is. So really, I just walk around confused. I waste some time wondering around this
      dry city thinking about this and that, trying to buy my time. Did I mention that this place looks dry? Because it looks like someone just plumped a city right in the middle of a desert and it's kind of depressing looking.

      I run into Dannon. He tells me how he's accomplishing the goal we all set out to do on the other side of the highway! He shows off his fancy new dream car. Other cars have to drive on the highway, but his super fancy car seems to just fly over them! His car is super fast and in the blink of an eye he's already past the horizon. I become lucid!!


      I decide to fly the old fashioned way and grow some gargoyle wings. I start flying over this desert highway, but it's a long flight and it's boring. Luckily, I finally remembered what 'our' goal was - to create a world that we of DreamViews could all dream in
      together! And we chose this ugly desert city because, well, how much worse could we possibly do? This boring place was a blank slate to practice our dream magic on.

      And I need a lot of practice. How about crossing this highway effortlessly for one? Why not get a nice dream ride? I run into Aquanina, she wants a nice dream ride too, but for different reasons I think. I remember seeing a car place just down the street so I suggest that maybe we should see what this dream has to offer. We just need some money. Money isn't a problem, we both laugh because for us dreamers,
      money is easy. I just imagine lots and lots of money pouring into my pockets. Suddenly my pockets become heavy, too heavy. I look and my pockets are filled with solid gold coins!

      "That's a bit dramatic don't you think?" That's me complaining to my subconscious "How about converting those coins into dollar bills instead? Thanks?"


      My pockets become lighter and double check to make sure there's still money in there. All good to go! (my lucidity is slipping) We walk on over to the only place in town selling cars. It's a neat place. Colorful and artsy graffiti, curvy walls. I think this car place used to be a skateboaring hangout. We even had to slide down to the next level.


      There was only one car!! That's it ONE car? I guess I should have known, this is a craptactular town. There's nothing special about the car either. I was kind of hoping the perfect dream vehicle would just be right here waiting for me to drive it/fly it/traverse space with it! I guess I was whining out loud, because the car dealer shakes her head (btw, its not often I see a FEMALE car dealer)


      "You're going about this the wrong way!" She explains "So the car is simple. So is this bouncy ball." This bouncy ball magically appears is. She bangs it up against the wall and it goes on a bouncing spring all over the place, we had to duck! "It's what you do with it that really matters"


      She's right! I'm forgetting my dream magic!
      We could use the car as an easy base to mold and redesign to our licking. But I woke up before I got to try.

      I'm not sure if I could call this one a shared dream. It didn't really feel like one. But it sure gives me a lot of ideas
      Dannon and Aquanina weren't the only people in my dream. I remember running into at least five other people who I just didn't recognize.
    12. I Can Fly! Time to Visit Dannon

      Synopsis: I think I'm dreaming. I test it by trying to fly! Lucid, I remember my dream goal of trying to dream share with Dannon

      I Can Fly! Time To Visit Dannon
      I was thinking about how lately my dreams have been tricking me. I was just minding my own business staring at the wall wondering, what if this is a dream? It doesn't look or feel like a dream.


      But as I walked around and stared at the living room, something felt out of place. I had to be sure! What if I'm dreaming? I get a crazy idea to go outside and try to fly. I run down the steps and stand under the street light. I think about flying but nothing happens. Mom runs outside yelling at me, asking me what I'm doing! It's pretty late and she doesn't like me outside alone after dark, I can't blame her, we do have a lot of car thieves in this neighborhood. But I had to go outside! I had to double check.


      I tell mom "I'm trying to fly". . . "You're trying to fly?" . . . "Yes, in a dream I can fly. What if this is all a dream?" Mom seems star struck, and just looks at the sky wondering the same thing. I walk forward while staring at the sky. This makes me trip when the ground level changes. I land in muddy water and scrape myself pretty badly. Mom runs over, helps me up and yells at me again.


      One side of my head is lecturing me "See, this isn't a dream! You're going to get seriously hurt if you keep this up." But the other side of my head was whispering
      "Why don't your scrapes hurt?". I wasn't in any pain at all!

      There were 12 year old boys hanging around outside, like a gang patrolling the street. They ask me and mom what
      we are doing. Mom blurts out "She's trying to fly!" "She's trying to fly?" They were 12 year olds after all and they seemed pretty dumb. They looked at me as though they were encountering a super hero. "You can fly?" "In dreams I can fly. What if I told you this could be a dream?"

      Now that I had everyone's attention, they all wanted to see me fly! They wanted me to prove to them that this was a dream. There's a small creek nearby and I start with that. I run and jump clear across the creek. I just jumped 20 ft, I have to be dreaming! I start to float, then I fly and loop around the small creek as the troop of boys cheer me on. Everyone seems pretty happy to know that this is just a dream. Me too! I haven't been lucid in a long time.


      I quickly remember my goal before I fell asleep. I fly away into the city. It's dark and dreary. I want to dream-share with Dannon but I really suck at creating portals. I try to make a few short calls in the dream, but my voice is weak and nothing is happening. So instead of trying to create a portal, I decided to fall into Dannon's dream. I fall backwards while keeping that intention in my head.


      When I open my eyes the new dream is just as dark. I can make out something sitting in front of me. It looks goblinish, with glowing eyes and pointy ears. But then I realize it's just a cat! I pet the cat and it purrs sweetly as it lays back down to sleep. Now that the cat is my friend the dream seems to explode to life. I can see everything vividly and in full color. I'm in a living room. I assume it's Dannons because that's who I'm trying to visit. The light is off, but there is a light coming from somewhere illuminating the kitchen.


      I call out Dannon's name, but no one answers. I stumble around the place, past the kitchen, until I find a small room where the light was coming from. Dannon is there, bundled up in a blanket, sitting on a comfy chair with the glow of the TV light on his face. Either he's watching a really good show or he's lost in his own thoughts, because his eyes were glazed over.


      "Dannon!" But he doesn't respond. I wave my hand over his eyes but he doesn't respond. It's like I'm invisible! There's a clock in the room that says 5:30 am. I wonder if that's supposed my time or his, and if his lack of response means he's actually awake. Well, I came all the way over here! I poke his face. He looks startled that something just touched his face, but when he looks around he sees there's a fly buzzing around. So maybe it was the fly.


      The tv was blank, nothing was on. Which disturbs me. I have to get his attention some how. I grab a box of kleenex sitting near him and toss it across the room. At first he seems curious as he gets up to find the source of the noise, but when he realizes his kleenex just flew across the room he looks freaked out.


      Dannons eyes scan the room for some malicious entity invading his space. He looks serious now! Like he's about to do some banishing ritual on me. Well that didn't work. I decide this dream isn't working out. I need to re-try teleporting to Dannon's dream. I think this Dannon might just be a dream character, I tell him goodbye anyways and that I'm going to try again!


      But that's when I wake up
    13. Lucidity Denial!

      Synopsis: My reality checks fail to help me realize I'm dreaming. But after falling out of a window I finally become lucid.

      Lucidity Denial!

      I had a dream about me and my cousins, bugs, birthday parties, cake and deciding whether to eat with plastic utensils or real silverware. I woke up, and I was going to write down the dream in detail. But I just fell asleep instead. (that happens a lot
      )

      I'm outside in a parking lot, and some guy has a really nice futuristic motorcycle. He sees me eyeing at it and he yells at me. "What do you think you're doing! You can't ride my bike!". I back away from his motorcycle, giving him some space, and I just explain I just wanted to look at it. I don't even know how to ride one! I just think Japanese motorcycles are pretty. But then he laughs "Nah I'm just kidding, you can ride it!"


      I'm hesitant but then its clear NOT riding his bike would insult him. Really, he practically bullied me to test ride his sweet bike. I take it for a quick test ride, but only around the parking lot, and only at parking lot speeds! The handling of the motorcycle is a bit weird. The kind of weird that only happens in dreams. I always miss this sign.


      I thank him and go back inside to what should be a store. But it's my bedroom instead. I don't remember all of the events, but it's like I spend the whole morning with my sisters. A very 'normal' morning.


      Suddenly I get this strange feeling. Something feels.....
      wrong.....off. But I can't explain it. I ask my sister if she feels weird, and she just shrugs. I look outside the window, and then I think "What if I'm dreaming?". I look all around me and at the trees and green things growing outside. I shake my head. "No that's impossible!" I tried to recall my day.

      I remember waking up from a dream about my cousins. And I remember.....eating breakfast. Everything seemed normal, even me testing out a strangers motorcycle at the time seemed
      normal. But for some reason, I can't stop myself inching closer and closer to the window. And I just want to jump so badly! One part of my mind is screaming I'm dreaming, the other part is begging my sister to help me stop my insanity before I hurt myself.

      I fall out the window. I'm drifting slowly, and peacefully, to the ground wondering if it's going to hurt. But then the wind carries me up and over the trees and I'm happy to be lucid and flying and dreaming! I soar over the tree tops. But then suddenly I end up in a weird dream landscape.


      Boxes and boxes and boxes and boxes of toy dinosaurs in packaging! I didn't like this dream scene. So I grab a box and I try to enter the painted picture on the box. Very briefly I enter a primal world where the dinosaur toys came to life. But the dream was unstable and I woke up. This time for real, I think

    14. The Sun and Moon

      Synopsis: Lucid, I still ccan't open a portal! Why? Later I run into a strange DC who knows this is a dream.

      The Sun and Moon
      I became lucid! I don't even remember my dream before becoming lucid. I think I was running around in a giant mall playing superheroes with some kids, but I'm not sure. All I really remember is, I walk outside and I start to float by a tree. Wait a minute, I'm floating? I'm dreaming!


      It's been a while since I've been lucid. I don't want to rush this, but I think I did anyways. I rub my hands together to stabilize the dream. I've never done this before as a stabilization technique. It feels pretty real! I can feel my fleshy hands and the curvature of my palms. But nothing happens. The dream doesn't change. So I command the dream to stabilize. But nothing happens again.


      I'm standing on the tree branch looking at the suburban scene below me. Well it's not unstable looking. But I wasn't satisfied. I wanted my dream to be hyper realistic. It still feels,
      dreamy. Maybe I made the wrong verbal commands, maybe I should have said "Increase Clarity" instead.

      I want to open a portal! But I want to find the best dream spot to open a portal. So I start to walk around, two kids from the mall follow me. I think they still want to play. They're cute but really annoying. I had to get rid of them some how! So I tell them "Did you know that this is a dream?" "Huuh?" "This is a dream!" "This is a dream?" They look at me shocked, as if I just told them the world was ending. But then they smile and laugh and run away. That was easy!


      I find the perfect spot to create a portal. I was underneath the sun and moon. The sun and the moon were next to each other, both shining bright. I don't even think that's possible in waking life, but it was beautiful sight anyways. I stand underneath the sunlight and try to open a portal.


      Nothing happens.


      I walk away a little confused. So I start to explore my dream some more while thinking of a better way to create a portal. I was walking along a glass building, reflecting everything behind me. That's when I notice an older blonde woman is following me (late 30s? 40ish? hard to tell, it doesn't look like she's slept in days). How annoying! Dream characters are so persistent sometimes. I know! I walk right through the glass building. I look through the glass smiling thinking "Now she can't see me! She doesn't even know I'm looking right at her." Some other nearby dream characters look confused, as if they just witnessed a person magically disappear.


      I waited for her to walk away just as confused, but instead she steps right through the glass. Her gaze was icy steel. How do I explain it? It's a kind of look that only women give to other women. I feel like she's challenging me.


      I'm just annoyed that a dream character is mimicking my dream abilities! (how dare she
      )

      She is standing very close to me. Invading my space actually, she's practically standing over me. I just want her to go away so I can get on with my dream. So I tell her "This is a dream!" And she responds "I know." I don't like her expression. It's angry and mean. But she doesn't try to hurt me, or touch me, even though she's so close. I felt like. . she was trying to manipulate me to be angry at her, to try to hurt her, start the cat-fight!


      But then I remind myself that this is a dream, I need to watch my thoughts and emotions carefully. I try to envision her as lovelier, friendlier, nicer. She eases up and smiles. But I can't say for certain it's the nicest smile in the world! I woke up after that. How short and sweet lucidity is.


      I VILD and attempt to re-enter the same dream. I'm lucid, but the dream is really unstable. I think I try to open the portal again. But I don't remember, everything just went to fuzz.


      (and why is there a fly literally flying around my head? Am I the sun?

    15. Kidnapped, Knife Fight, Blood

      I guess one could call this a nightmare, but it didn't quite start out like that.

      I woke up on the top of a bunk bed in a tiny plain hotel room. The flooring was dark, pale blue carpet, and there was a hotel-sized white-paned window on the other side of the room. I caught the false awakening and momentarily became a bit lucid, but it didn't last.

      I got up from the bunk bed and went down the stairs. There was no one else in the room, but there was an open door leading to the main part of the booked hotel room (where the fridge and chairs are). I peered out and knew I wasn't supposed to be here. I saw a man with a black t-shirt and blue jeans sitting at a small round wooden table, drinking from a mug. He looked slightly scuffed up, although not much. He also looked fairly strong, like someone who'd just gotten back from the gym.

      He saw me right away. "Hello," he told me, rather normally. "Don't be shy. Come out and I'll make you some breakfast."

      I decided to play stupid and say, "I have to get dressed first." There must have been a suitcase or something of clothing in the room, because he said, "sure". I went into the room, closing the door, and found a small shopping bag filled to the top with clothes, but I wasn't actually going for them. I was going for anything that could help me escape.

      My gaze flit around the room and I saw a coach purse, exactly like the one I own in real life. It had a very long strap that I could use to climb down the side of the hotel.


      I looked out the hotel window, clutching the purse, and saw that our room was situated at least thirty floors up. The strap didn't even go half the distance to the ground. Crap!

      Suddenly, the man walked into the room and froze when he saw me by the window with the purse. "What are you doing?" he asked me.

      "Getting out of here," I shot back at him. I made a run for the door, went through it, and he didn't do anything to stop me. He pulled out a long, silver knife instead. I looked back as I ran out the door and into the hotel hallway; he was watching me calmly with the knife in his hand. I didn't look back as I ran down the stairs to the lobby.

      There were only one or two sets of stairs and already I was on the first floor...? Anyways, I got there and no one was in sight, but there was a phone at the reception desk. I took it and crazily tried to dial 911. The man suddenly appeared, slipping around the corner and holding the phone box. "You're crazy!" I shouted to him. The machine rang and then a voice answered. "I'm being kidnapped and threatened with a knife!" I told the woman on the other line. "Help me, I'm-"

      I couldn't get an address out, because the man found the phone outlet and unplugged it, then cut the cord with his knife. I gaped and backed away from him rather quickly. "Don't leave," he told me forcefully.

      I took one more step back and my foot landed on a gun. My eyes widened even more (is that even possible?) and I reached down and picked the gun up. It was dark gray, almost black, and heavy. It was loaded. "Back the f*** up!" I told him, looking for the exit. Suddenly he reached into his pocket and pulled out his own gun. I shot him in the chest, killing him instantly. His eyes began to bleed and there were bruises appearing all over his body. He was still standing up straight but his eyes were closed, and he was completely still. Then another person, looking very much like him, appeared with the same ghastly imagery. It frightened me so much I woke up.
