Of course since it was my first one, I was not completely 100% aware, but I was at least 75%.
I became aware because earlier that night, I had a dream that I could manipulate water and when I woke up from it, I told myself that that was impossible and to recognize it in future dreams. I went back to sleep and appeared in a boat made of ice. I am sure I was in Antarctica. I decided to meditate since it was calm and when I did, the water around me started to bubble. So I said, "Wait a second," and tried to make it bubble again. This time it was even more powerful. I became mostly aware right there because I remembered that that was impossible.

I floated along, admiring the dreams beauty, when I came to my garage, it was embedded into the side of a glacier. I hopped into it and my brother was swinging a bat. I told him that we were both dreaming and he said, "No we're not, that's stupid." So I got a rock and set it on the ground and tried to raise it with my mind. It didn't work so I thought if I got closer that it would. As I got closer it was like a magnet and jumped to my hand. My brother said there was nothing I could do to make him believe me so I said oh well at least it's someone to interact with. So I said hey want to go to a dream I had a while ago (I trained myself to wake up after every other dream)? He said, "Whatever," so I closed my eyes and tried to imagine my earlier dream. I opened my eyes and I was in the middle of an abandoned house (the one in my earlier dream). I looked around for my brother but he was not there, so I started to explore.

As I was walking around, these little gnome things started attacking me. I raised my hand and started shooting them with a hand beam (). Right then I lost lucidity. After I killed all the gnomes, I regained about 90% lucidity. So, I thought I would try to get into my friend's dream. I drew his name in the air with my finger and it opened a portal (I had thought this through many times in the waking world). I stepped in and I was in a Mario game. I couldn't find my friend so I thought I would teleport him. I opened a portal and reached in with my hand. As I started to pull something out (assuming it's my friend) its arm came out and I woke up .

    2. False Awakening

      by , 06-23-2010 at 10:19 PM (A Pierrot's Muse)
      Thursday 9th April 2009
Sitting on the bedroom floor, I grasped the control pad firmly in my hand, engrossed in the game I was playing. Nevertheless, a friend and my sister interupted me by walking in front of the TV and requesting that we'd watch a DVD. Hiding my annoyance, I shifted into a more comfortable position.
"You'll have to watch it in the living room then, I'm using this TV." Came my noncomittal reply.

Plucking the DVD out of the cabinet on which the TV sat, my friend and sister left the room leaving me to play the game in peace.

Waking up in my bed, the wall I stared at looked practically normal, only the slight distorting blur giving the fact that I was still dreaming away. From prior experience and by reading up on the matter, I knew that being able to control myself while in a false awakening was difficult. But in spite of this, I decided to try and get up. I closed my eyes and tried to focus on staying in the dream and when I was certain I was ready, rolled out of my bed and landed, crouched on the floor.

I sat still to make sure I wouldn't lose control by acting too hastily. Gingerly, standing up, I concentrated on trying to fly, and slowly but surely, I began to steadily float upwards. Unfortunately my excitement at this was cut short, abruptly by the top bunk of the bunk bed which had hindered my path upwards. I was lodged underneath the top bunk and had immediately lost control.

    3. False Awakening

      by , 06-23-2010 at 10:07 PM (A Pierrot's Muse)
      Friday 3rd April 2009
Upon waking from a dream I no longer remember, I opened my eyes a crack and peered out into the darkness.
I didn't focus much on my surroundings to begin with, however, after a closer inspection (my vision becoming clearer in spite of my eyes remaining half-lidded) I came to the realisation that I was in fact lying in my bed in the living room; right where the chair was supposed to be. The vision in my left eye was hindered due to the obtrusive pillow, my gaze sweeped across the dark expanse of the room before coming to the conclusion that I was still dreaming.

I attempted to regulate my breathing into a steady rhythm and opened my eyes wider-- still, my left eye was half covered in darkness due to the pllow which my head had sunk into -- On my right eye was what seemed like a scattering of white dust which obstructed my view further.

I lifted my head -- which felt incredibly heavy -- from the pillow, but in spite of my efforts I couldn't control myself very well and fell limply back onto the pillow.

Curiosity then spiked and since that getting up was now off the agenda, I was curious as to see what my hand would look like. Would it have more fingers as it usually did when I did a reality check? Be a little blurry? Raising my arm, which experienced the same heavy feeling as my head, I raised my hand into a clearing in my vision between the walls of black and white. To my surprise, I merely gazed at a stump; cut off at the wrist abruptly, my hand was simply none existant.

      Stairway to...
      Friday 3rd April 2009

I stood at the entrance of the house -- the hallway enveloped in darkness -- and two figures emerged from within its dark depths; my sister and following close by was one of my good college friends.

Apparently, he'd slept over for the weekend and now the time had arrived for his departure. I feel a pang of guilt wash over me. I find myself wishing we ould have done more to make his stay more enjoyable. (Albiet I didn't seem to recall what was done during his stay.)

Turning on my heels, my vision swept passed the doorway of my dad's bedroom -- someone was inside.
Her back was facing me but she was clad in silk, pale pink pyjamas and a house coat that looked rather like a small kimono. Her long, wavy black hair was gathered into a tight pony tail which trailed, incredibly, right down to the top of her thighs.

I fleetingly wonder who she was.

One of my sister's friends I'd decided.

"Don't forget your fan!" I hear my sister's voice from behind me. Following that, the mysterious girl produced a pink fan and packed it into a bag.

My sister then grabbed a bag from somewhere and filled it with clothing of which included a red T-shirt and a brown one. Then, with her free hand grasped a nearby suitcase and we started out the door, first walking to our neighbour who lived directly opposite.
"Could you look after this, please?" she inquired to the man who now stood at the door.

He accepted the suitcase without hesitation and promptly we headed down the stairs. It appeared that I was now carrying the bag with the T-shirts inside, another random white T-shirt hooked in my right hand which flopped around lazily with my movements.

Continuing the journey down, the stairs began to undergo metamophosis; taking on the appearance of hard, cold stone stairs which led up to a huge archway from which white light flooded through.
This light was of stark contrast to the sullen darkness of the room. And this time, by myself, I walked up the stairs.

I heard a jumble of voices -- male ones -- ricocheting across the barren area.
"It's a shame when people you're looking for aren't there..."
      "Yeah, it is."

I was very nearly at the top. I began up the last flight of steps before I realised I had dropped the bag I was carrying, which was now hanging loosely on a long plank of wood that was propped up against the side of the banister. And looking up again, I saw a frightened man, pale with fear and pleading looks painted across his features, slowly crawling his way up on his hands and knees towards the light.
    4. Cold!

      by , 06-23-2010 at 09:07 PM (Zukin's Dream Journal! <3)
It was the end of the school day, and also the last day of school. I was trying to turn in my books to the library before the bus left. I was walking around the campus but I couldn't find the library! It was completely missing. I looked out the window and noticed that the buses were gone, great. Why didn't I just drive to school today? I kept looking and saw my friend Meg, she was holding a net in her hand. In the net was some books. I asked her where the library was, and she told me to go down the hall and take a left. I did what I was told, but I found myself in the cafeteria. A large Mayan display had been built. This was outrageous, libraries just don't disappear like this! I decided to do a reality check. I looked at my hands and saw that I had 6 fingers, nice! I turned around, and I was in my kitchen. Mom was trying to talk to me, and I was still really concerned about the books. I wasted about 5 minutes looking for the books to put on the table so I would remember to drop them off at the library later. I told my mom that I was leaving, and she said that she wanted me to stay here so I could talk to her. I left anyways, but she started chasing after me and sprayed me with the hose! COLD!

    5. 6-21-10 dream reboot

      by , 06-23-2010 at 06:26 PM
during the dream which a remember little of since it was 2 days ago, I looked outside a window to see snow and a few toys, one of them was an old light 3 game. I ran to my room started to question reality and the dream faded and I could feel my eyes still moving even though I was awake. I tried to make a new dream area but that did not work I then thought of a video loader icon and the area came out of that. I thought I was in my room as I walked out I saw a misplaced office chair (it was dark btw) walked down the hall to my brothers room and woke up.
    6. 2120 something

      by , 06-23-2010 at 09:17 AM
My first task of the year is complete. I had a day off work so I decided to WILD. I woke up to my alarm going off at about 5:30am and got up to use the bathroom. I also read a couple of pages in my copy of a lucid dreaming book and went back to sleep about 20 mins later. As I drifted, I began to feel that familar feeling of dozing right back into REM. The visuals are amazing, almost like tuning into a TV station that starts as static but become clear in seconds. I didn't need to induce lucidity as I started the dream already knowing that I was asleep. Things cleared up once I started rubbing my hands and I noticed that the scene around me looked like something from the early Roman empire. The street was paved of tan cobble stones and the buildings kinda matched. I heard something behind me so I turned and I saw people entering a large building that was made of metal and had strange lights glowing around it. I asked one of the people walking toward it, what is inside? He told me I would have to wait to find out. I did not like the answer he gave me and I became frustrated. I consintrated on the next person and when they looked at me, to my surprise he looked identical to the last guy. I asked again, whats in there?
This time the man said "it's a ship". WHAT?! I ran for the "ship" and peeked in the huge entrace way where people were crowding to jam inside. There were balconies and giant picture screens along every wall and the crowd was frantic. I went inside and started asking people why they were so upset and why we were in this place. Before I could get a logical answer from them, the doors slamed shut and the entire structure started shaking. I felt like I was on one of those sim rides at Universal or something. So, I ran to the edge of the room toward an opening that I did not notice before and looked out/down. We were high above the earth and moving fast. I closed my eyes for a second and we were landed. When we came out we were in a futuristic setting, not a city just a community of strangly dressed long skinny people. One of them was walking with a crowd and he looked back and jestured for me to follow him. I looked down at myself and I was one of them, that felt weird. I looked at my hands and they were moving in a strange way like they were robot hands, twisting and bending at the joint, they were also twitching like haing a spasm like never before. I ignored that and followed. We entered a small room at the corner of a building and walked up a large flight of stairs. On the way up I asked the guy his name. He said his name was Carl and that I had travled into the future 962 years. At that point I remebered that I had some tasks to do and I figured this would be a good time to start. I asked him what year it was and he said twenty one twenty urrrggghhh. I asked again and could still not understand him. I asked if he knew how the world ended and he showed me to another room with a small screen on the wall. These rooms did not look like they belonged in the future. They looked like acient ruins made of stone with a couple of futuristic things here and there. I sat in front of the screen and his small fingers came by my face and pushed a button on my sholder. The screen came on and the picture showed people getting into ships just like the one I had rode in. They flew off and the world started to melt down right in front of me. The ocean dried up and comets started to crash onto the Earths surface. Magna and flames started shooting out like geysers violently and I felt the heat. I looked around and started to notice that I was not watching on a screen anymore, I was there! The sky turned dark green and opened. A huge monster sqeezed through and was now treading towards me. He was all black like a shadow and was the size of a skyscraper. I flew away. I remember the monster was walking like bigfoot. That all I can recall.

      weird lucid

My memory starts when the person I know as L who looked like David Rockefeller, showing up in a black limo while I am walking down a generic street.
He gets out and I can tell he wants to use me in some way to get into my inner world. I run away into someones yard. I jump over a fence, and now I am floating. i touch the ground and continue running, not looking behind me at all. The next fence has an opening in it. Right in the middle of the fence is a square opening, so i dive through it head first. I keep running until I come to another fence with a large square opening, so this time I go feet first floating through it.

I go into a yard that is familiar and go behind a stone wall. I then jump up onto a small concrete ledge with a stone roof with a mural painted on the ceiling. I gradually become lucid during a period of several seconds. I am staring at the mural. All I see is paintings of Asuka on the murals. I stare at one for a while and notice one of the eyelids begins to come out of the painting. I think "oh great she's hiding in the mural and is coming out to see me!"

I instinctively put my hand on the mural. I look at it against the part of the dream and begin counting. I count up to ten, I didn't want to go high just in case I wasn't doing it right. I pulled my hand away and I watched as the dream was bending towards me like the corner edges of paper coming together. I watched as it went back to normal.

I had something in my hand. It was like a metal dog tag with an inscription on it. It was by Walms. It wals talking about time dilation. it read "focus on hand - the dream. Count and then jump". I had a vague image in my head of walms with his hand on the ground and counting. when he was done I see him spring up right into the air.

      missing time

      yeah

sex dream I kept waking up from. In the dream i would be in the same bed doing my thing. Then i would wake up and be in the same bed alone. This happened several times.

      strange game

I remember being in some building where we were participating in some wierd game. We had to go to different tables and do different actions or something. I didn't understand it well so i went outside for a smoke. It was night out and I saw something moving in the shadows to my left.

"Is that somebody there?" I asked. I heard a woman's voice and saw the shadow come forward. There was a smaller shadow with her. they moved into the light a bit. they stood in front of me with steps leading down behind them. We were in a conversation I can't recall. I watched as the woman walked, she went from slim to a very obese woman. She asked me if I gave the joint to someone.

as she asked it, more people came from walking up the steps. there were a few Women and one really short brown guy with a mean look on his face. someone asked "you gave a joint to someone?"

i said "yea, It was a few inches long but not very big." I showed the thickness of it between my fingers, indicating it was really small. "It was a fucking pinner joint!" I said. Everyone laughed except the small brown guy.

      Basement

some vague dream aof walking around in my basement with asuka and other inner world characters.

      Asuka attacked

yet again. I was in some dark place watching some weird creature put a series of spikes through her and she was screaming. It faded out.

      What?

I am Shawna from junior high. Through her eyes I see myself sitting down and playing guitar. WTF?!?!?

    8. Sisterly Circle - And Ancient Origins

by , 06-23-2010 at 03:25 AM (A World In My Head!!)
      June 22, 2010

Synopsis: In the first dream my sister is deathly skinny. In the second: After becoming lucid, I leave the giant band party where it rained beer. Two archeologists find me, and they want my help to unlock the secrets of an ancient culture. But bad guys are after us- I mean me! Wait the bad guys are my sisters? We travel back into my ancient history, where I run into future problems.

Night Time Notes: I said my dolphin dream mantra! And then I fell asleep.

      My Sister is Sick
My sis walks in my room, asking me what I think of her new clothes. Does she look pretty? When I look up, I'm horrified. She's so skinny, she's nothing but bones and sagging skin. She poses for me anyways, believing herself to be beautiful. She tries on some more clothes for her new raggedy body.

"How did you get so skinny?" But really I meant to scream, WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO?

Putting on makeup and smiling she says "I got a liposuction. Do you like it?"

I don't say anything. I don't even know what to say! Suddenly she gets pale, then gray. She's writhing away. Her hair turns white and starts to fall out. The rest of my family gathers serenely around her.

      "What's happening!"

"I'm sick. It's okay, I'm just dying" She smiles as if everything is fine. And then I wake up, relieved it was just a dream.

Sisterly Circle - And Ancient Origins
Actually, it was a FA. And a new dream starts. Me and my sisters are in a giant spacious building, where a big celebration is about to take place. It was like a giant nerdy band party. Dozens of high school bands, colorguards, and other performance groups were taking turns putting on a show. There's no audience, except the other performers. So we are all just taking turns entertaining each other.

My sisters got tired and went to the grand foyer of this party hall, where things were lot quieter and civil. I should have joined them because the party room got rowdy fast! The adults in charge make a loud announcement, they're going to make beer rain from the ceiling! The band nerds cheer! Ewwwww! I don't drink and I don't like the way beer smells. I stand by the door way so the little ledge can protect me from the rain of beer.

I start complaining "This party stinks!" Literally. The announcer apologizes, and tells me that this party is actually being held - for me! So he gives me an opportunity to make things right. A computer screen magically appears in the air displaying soda selections. The announcer suggests "How about you make it rain coke instead?"

Rain soda? Sounded like fun. But then I thought dumping sticky corn syrup on people was even meaner. Well if this is my party, then I'll be a good host. Instead I tell the announcer to give everyone a free coke! Like magic, soda bottles appear in the air and people are guzzling down. It was orange soda.

There is one last performance of the night - me and my old colorguard. Were getting ready in the grand foyer. When the window catches my attention. I walk towards it, smiling, realizing, I'm dreaming! I walk through the window. It's night, very dark. Just beyond the grassy yard was a rock wall. It's a dream-wall. I fly along the dream-wall following it where it takes me. There's a small village of make shift tents nearby, of vagabonds and witches. Two witches perform a horrifying ritual on an innocent victim. Dark cloaked people with sunken eyes. And the distant shouts and howls of hobgoblins and werewolves.

At first I thought this dark town would be the start of a fun dream. But I stuck out like sore thumb, and all the DCs were starting to stare at me. Watching me. Sheesh. Forget this! I fly back where I came from. The dream wall was preventing me from getting too far.

The sky is more like a curtain draped over than a sky. But I fly towards it anyways. Until there was nothing in my field of vision but a black void with twinkling stars. I kept focusing on going forward and forward and deeper into the black void. At one point I thought for sure I would wake up! But every now and then colors would dance and explode within the black void. Like mini-galaxies forming in front of me. I tried to enter one, but I was 'stuck'.

I fall backwards into the same dream. A strange crystal like formation appears on the rock wall. I know it's man made because of it's colors - it looks painted. But I can't recognize what culture would have made this. I'm drawn to it. I want to merge with it. So I touch it. That's when I notice two guys were watching me. (and I lose lucidity around this time)

"Sorry to interrupt you, but we were waiting for you to absorb it's information." They introduce themselves and tell me they are archeologists, and they are trying to piece together the history of some ancient culture. They tell me that I could help them because I have connections with this culture. Okay! I go with them, and we enter a new dreamscape.

Were exploring an old city. There were these flags that mimicked the shape of the crystal structure, but the colors were all wrong. Too dark. The crystal was painted airy, bright.

The dream gets weird. There's someone after me and my archeologists friends! I don't know who. But I remember at some point that my sisters were the ones trying to get me!

We were in an old room. The two men were looking for some information, trying to find something important. I look outside the large window. There are fleshy bodies in the water. What? I take a closer look. Decapitated horses were rotting in a river below us. Their flesh jiggling with the motion of the river. I fly down to take a closer look. A shark jumps out of the water and tries to eat me! He's huge! And monstrous! I fly back to the window.

The shark tries to jump again, into the bedroom. The archeologists pull out a gun and shoot it. "Look! There's a man over there!" They think he was controlling the shark. "Someone is out to get us." "We have to move."

Sure we run away, and the dream becomes a chase-dream. But running to a different place wasn't enough. I use my magic to send us some place these bad guys could never find us - the past. The ancient past!

Were standing in a small hallway that leads to a sandy beach, where the dream-wall used to be. (Second time this week I've dreamed of a beach, and still I didn't even think of going in the water) It's beautiful and sunny. And the beach is full of wild flowers. Up ahead, where the party hall used to be is an ancient temple! But it's not ancient, not in this time period - it's contemporary.

I recognize the temple, and the creatures standing outside. Their gargoyle like form is something I've transformed into before in dreams. They are dressed in mayan like costumes. They welcome me as any other citizen, but sneer at my two human friends.

"They're with me. Please let them in."

We enter the courtyard of the temple, as beautiful as can be. I can see the glowing smiles of my archeologists friends. "Now you can study this ancient culture all you want!" But then they looked afraid, I know what they're thinking. "Don't worry, I can take you back to the future when you're done."

A woman is escorting us to our dormitories. Everything was going swell until we here a peculiar sound. A cell phone is ringing! Around the corner was a human girl. I can see the glow of her cell phone in her pocket. But she ignores and it pretends it isn't there. She disappears from our view.

We go inside the bedroom. "Something is wrong!" "This place is a trap!" I don't know how, but they found us! "We have to leave now before they act". How disappointing, I was looking forward to learning about this culture! I fly away, carrying the two men to safety. We hide in the little marketplace just outside the temples walls.

A tiny flying mechanical disk stuck out like sore thumb against this old village vibe. It must be theirs, like a flying camera trying to find us! We try hard to stay out of it's view. All of this hiding is getting annoying. I decide living in the wilderness is much better.

I find us a nice wild patch growing near the beach. I settle comfortably down between some giant succulents. But then I have a strange thought...just how ancient is this landscape? I mean...all of it? I turn my head to see that T-Rex was just a few yards away. Oh crap! Within a moment his large face was face to face with me. His beady eyes. The scaly skin. Why hasn't he eaten me yet? He's following my movements like a snake. When I stay still he can't see me. But I can't stand here all day!

We run for it and hide from T-Rex. This T-Rex didn't growl or roar. He was a quiet stealthy predator. Ancient dinos was one thing. But I can see coming from behind us were the men who have been after us this whole time - except now they look like my sisters. Damn! We quickly sneak away. Trying to find a place that's dino free, and free from my sisters who are after me for some reason.

We go through room through room through room through room. The day time gives way to night time. The crashing waves of the beach grow darker and darker, becoming a black void outside the window. I take a turn around the corner, running into a narrow hallway, when I run into my sister!

      "Where have you been!"

She has bright stage make up on, like she's about to perform. I hear a loud crowd, the party. I'm back in the present. My sister looks past the stage curtains and into the other room. She looks confused and frightened.

"Why are there two of you? You're in the other room and you're right here!"

      "Long story."

I find my other sisters, the ones who time traveled. We sat down on a table away from the party scene. They don't seem angry at me, they don't even remember finding me in their time travel. I ask him "How long were you gone (time traveled)?" And they answer "A few days" "A few months"

"Really? I felt like I was gone for a year and a half!"

      And then I wake up!
    9. I'm Back!

      by , 06-22-2010 at 11:01 PM
Well, after a year, I'm finally back on DV. I just transfered my DJ over to the new system. I like the new system a lot it was a much needed update. While I was away, I had my first LD this winter, and this is how it went:

I was driving my car to my aunt and uncle's house in Duluth, and I parked outside their house. This kid starts sneeking around my car so I pull an airsoft gun on him and he runs. My car then proceeded to disappear so I started to walk to Grand Ave. As I walked down grand in Mid-Afternoon, The entire scenery changed into a room with a mud floor, and my grandma standing there in a green blouse. At that moment I realized I was dreaming, and I became extremely excited. I had trouble controlling myself for a minute, but then I closed my eyes and became relaxed. I had to test it to be sure, so I closed my eyes and tried to change the color of my grandma's shirt to brown, and it worked. I talked to her for a few seconds about my cousins, and then I woke up in my bed. I checked for a false awakening, but alas, it was real.

I was on a train. You know, one of those passenger trains with the multiple cars. It was very cozy yet airy inside, and there were maroon leather seats on either side of the car I was in, almost like a luxury bus. There were also round tables covered with white tablecloths near the back of the car. It had very large windows so people could look outside; these windows made up nearly the entire sides of the car.

I became lucid almost immediately. I exclaimed out loud and did a little dance because I hadn't been lucid in a few days, and immediately decided to do something (although I wasn't sure what yet). I wanted to exit the train but I knew it was moving, pretty fast too, but I didn't want to go all the way to the conductor and ask them to stop it manually. That would have been silly. So, I punched a large hole in one of the windows (no one was around to witness it) and looked outside for the first time. The train was not on a track, but in the middle of traffic, moving along smoothly with the other cars. There wasn't much traffic though, so I jumped out, landing on my feet in the middle of traffic.

I looked down the lane and saw a forest-green colored car zooming towards me at around sixty miles an hour, so I leaped on top of it, causing a large dent and feeling the top of the car implode. The car stopped abruptly, as soon as I touched it, but I didn't get thrown off. I then jumped off the car and onto the sidewalk. I tried to do the second jump stylishly but I failed miserably. I had to balance myself a bit, and almost felt pain as my feet contacted the cement sidewalk. I walked it off.

I spent the rest of the dream flying around because that's one of my favourite things to do.

      Dream 2 - "Why'd you do that?!"

As soon as the train dream ended, I found myself in my bedroom, all tucked into bed. My room was situated downstairs; I was in a queen bed with mint green covers, a polished dark brown nightstand beside it, and an oak artist's desk in the other corner of my room.

I was suspicious of this, though, because something felt wierd. I got up a bit, still covered in blankets, and looked at my alarm clock. The first time I looked, it said 1:00. Nothing strange at all. However, I looked back and forth a few more times, because sometimes in dreams my clock tricks me. Caught it.

The next sequence of numbers was 2:00, 3:00, and then 4:04. I immediately got up and said, "a second lucid dream!?"

By now I was pretty excited but I knew better than to go around destabilizing the dream. I went out through the door to my room and ran upstairs, towards the front door to get out of the house. Through the window next to the door, between the blinds, I saw that it was dark. But I knew, through expectation, that I could make it light outside. Before disregarding the window, I looked at the door and expected it to be light outside. I turned the doorknob and it was light. Perfect.

I walked down the driveway and was about to fly away.

Then my mother woke me up, and I was back in bed. I was sure I was awake, so I asked, "why did you do that? I was in the middle of a lucid dream." A few moments later, I woke up for real.

In which insane and bloody doctors offer to change my appearance.

I'm picking up floor joists by myself and placing them in a third layer over the existing ones.

"What are you doing?" asks my dad.

I set down the thirty-foot piece of wood and gesture like it should be obvious.

"We already did that," says Dad, "We don't need any more."

I look down, and realize that he's right. Oh.

      ---

I'm driving around Quickton, driving around all the cars that are parked haphazardly in the middle of the road. Did I mention that DCs aren't allowed to drive anymore?

      ---

I'm wandering around Ixburg. It's night, and my surroundings feel very real. I look at my hand anyway, count my fingers. I count five, but my pinky finger is just a stub, and I know that I'm dreaming.

I go through my mental list of lucid goals, and decide that I'll try to find Hazel. Only, I know exactly how this phase of the dream usually works out, so I decide to send her a message instead.

I pull out my cell phone and send a text, asking where she is. I immediately get a reply. I put the phone to my ear and hear a female voice telling me that she's at the zoo. I tell her to stay there; I'll try to come find her.

"I'm lucid, I'm lucid." I mutter to myself, going over to the church doors that I'm standing near. I pull them open, thinking, Lions and tigers and bears...

I see a faint blue light, but when I step inside, I'm still in Ixburg. I sigh. Obviously I'm going to have to work on that "power of belief" thing. Whatever, the door thing has never worked for me.

I'm standing by a mirror and idly playing with my appearance, going for "more masculine" and "more feminine", back and forth, changing faces at random. My skin is starting to feel stretched too tight, though, and I step back from the mirror.

A scalpel slices across my cheek, drawing blood. The girl holding it dances back, twirling happily around the room. I watch, unconcerned, as she and another, identical, girl come up to me and place their arms over my shoulders.

I don't remember exactly what they say, but the consensus is that my shapeshifting abilities leave something to be desired. Amused, I allow myself to be led over to the bed and handcuffed to the headboard. The twins step back and make a grand gesture toward the door.

An older woman appears, seemingly armed to the teeth with surgical tools. "I can help you gain any appearance you wish," she says.

"What," I say, taunting, "No anesthesia?"

      "It's a dream. You don't need it."

I pause for a second, and seriously consider the offer. "Nah," I say, freeing myself from the handcuffs with a thought. "I got this."

      The woman shrugs and disappears.

I stand up and walk over to the closets that are in the room, looking for a grey suit. I don't know why I'm looking for a grey suit, I just feel like wearing one. I try to make one appear in the one of the two closets, but fine-tuned dream control isn't my forte. I'm better at the "mass slaughter" kind of thing.

The twins continue to try to be helpful, but I ignore them.

I go over to the wall and stretch out a hand. I'm trying to dissolve the dream, reach through the Void, and pull up a new location. I see spots where my hands are, and I think it's working. I reach forward - my hand bumps off of a very real, very solid feeling wall. I try again. It's not working.

      I wake up.

    12. A Three Lucid Morning

      by , 06-22-2010 at 03:40 PM (Hazel's Boiler Room)
Woah, I'm glad I decided to go back to sleep.

1- Puppy with a Thousand Names
I just bought a cute little dachshund puppy, but I can't come up with a name. Everytime I think of one I like, I forget it and come up with something else. To start with I'm calling her Doris, then Matilda, then Samantha...

I teach her how to play fetch.... She's just so cuuute!

2- Battle of Fire and Water
I am surrounded by evil monks. My master is wounded; this battle is in my hands. But how can ONE win against THOUSANDS? I am barely able to keep them at bay with my fire magic, and my mana is running low. I quickly drink a potion which restores my power. But what good will it do? How can I defeat them? "Get them away from the floodgates," my master instructs. After a few failed attempts, I do as he says. Water rushes out of the gates and they all drown.

      3- Playing with Time Warps

I am with the Doctor; he is a bit impatient with my cousin, so he decides to screw with her head a bit. He creates a time warp, and she walks up to him just as he is talking to a past version of her. She freaks out and runs away. Our laughter is interrupted by the sound of marching. A whole legion of warriors is coming out of Wal-Mart!

"You of all people should know the dangers of playing with time warps!" I accuse as the army advances on us. "Look what you've done!"

The general wants us both dead. Before he gives the order to attack, he randomly stabs an arrow into the head of a dwarf standing beside him. Okay, what was the point of that?

The battle commences. I have a sword, and am actually doing a really good job of killing the soldiers. This is fun! The army is actually a mixture of humans and enslaved dwarves... I end up killing the arrow-dwarf's brother, and he wants revenge. (How is he still alive with that arrow sticking out of his head?) I knock him underneath a car. Now he can't sit up without the arrow hitting the bottom of the vehicle. Looks like a very painful way to be stuck...

The scene changes; now I'm working for the General. I get an email about something detrimental to the General's plans. I can't let him see this... This could be the key to getting rid of him once and for all.

      4- Expectations (DEILD)
Darkness. I'm not in SP anymore, I guess I woke up. But I RC anyway and become lucid. Yay! Only now, I can't open my eyes. Hmm... I take my sleep mask off, which has transferred over into the dream, but my eyes still won't open. I use my fingers and try to PRY them open... still no success. Oh well, I'll be able to see through them in a minute. I wander around the house blindly until I can see. I feel sort of confused though... For some reason I think I'm invisible.

I go in my brother's room, where Steven and Matt are listening to the radio. I want to mess with them, so I throw something off the dresser at them. Apparently I'm not invisible, after all.

My attention turns to the radio. Everything it is saying makes perfect sense. The commercials and the songs are all in real life clarity. Do they have this playing IRL? If not, my subconscious is awesome!

I go outside. It's really dark, but I ignore this. I'm already having problems with staying in the dream, I need to stabilize this before I worry about the lights. (Or lack thereof.)

I'm thinking about Leroy all of a sudden, and a man suddenly appears in front of me. Thinking it's my dream guide, I abruptly lose all my self-control and leap at him, giving him a big hug. I see a bit too late that I'm wrong, that this is just a random DC,
      and I wake up.

((Oops. I'm glad that wasn't Leroy, after all, since I had to go and act like that. Again.))

      5- A WILD within a DEILD
I DEILD back into the dream. Yet again, I'm having the same problem with my eyes. I briefly consider ripping my eyelids off, but decide I don't really want to find out what that would feel like.

I walk out of my room, into the hallway. I still can't see, but I am able to tell where I am just as easily. This dream is still really unstable... Maybe if I WILD within the dream, into a different dream, it will fix things? Worth a shot, anyway.

I lay down right there on the floor, close my eyes (they were open, despite my blindness) and enter SP. There is a vague sensation of rolling around, and then...

      6- Exploration
...I am fully lucid in a new dream. Better yet, I can SEE again!

Now I suddenly feel as if I need to prove myself for some reason. Maybe I'll go fight that werewolf... I head off toward it's lair. It's still pretty dark out, and there are random people along the road. Once I reach M's house I run into two mean looking dogs. I think they may have been in the pack that tried to kill me in another dream... "Hey, little doggies!" I say fondly, using passive control to make them like me. I pet them. "Wanna come help me kill a big bad werewolf?" Apparently not, they run off. I turn and fly toward the south. I'm near where I'm supposed to be; the warehouse where the werewolf lives is somewhere back here.

Now, however, I'm distracted by the mountains beyond that. I had read something that The Cusp posted about dream mapping, about how there are certain borders on the edges of your dreamworld and that it's impossible to get past them. Well, I'll just have to see about that for myself. After a lot of flying and climbing, I make it over the mountains... only to find more mountains in the distance. Gah... I'm not going that far.

Below me, there is a city. Since I'm here, I might as well check it out. I jump down, right in the middle of the road. Cars are coming at me from all directions, but I am unconcerned. It's fun leaping over them. A little tiny car drives by... I wonder what kind of person would drive something that small? I catch up with it and sit on top, riding through the city.

I reach the lower district and get off. I am surprised by the variety of people, and how real they all look. Everything is so detailed; how could my mind possibly come up with all these different people?
The dream fades, and I wake up.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      The ringing and spinning cease.

I RC just to confirm it. Yeah, I'm dreaming. My room is about as messy as it is IWL. Why is everything so freaking dark? I slide out of bed, not really caring if I step on anything. As I do, I spot a dark shadow shoot across the corner of my eye. Goddammit, I think as I hurry downstairs, this isn't what I wanted to deal with. Luckily, whatever that was doesn't follow me. Unluckily, there are more in the house.

That fucking Shadow Monster has probably been having his way with this place since the last time I was here. . . Sure enough, as I exit my house and fly into my court, I am met with a disturbing sight. A heavy darkness fills the air, as I look upon that nightmarish sky. I cannot properly describe the hellish glow emanating from parts of the smooth, gigantic, wispy black cloud that covers the entire sky. It is almost as if the atmosphere is in a slow burn.

Flying to the center of my court, I start to freak out. She's got to check this out. There's no way this is normal. I call for Raven, but realize she's still awake at this hour. It is then I become aware of a presence behind me. I draw my blade, and flip around, but whatever it was follows my movements perfectly and remains behind me. I turn around, faster this time. Still no luck.

While I can't see whatever it is directly, I do manage to switch perspectives, and am now viewing the shadows on the ground. The thing behind me was clearly a human female, but gender doesn't mean anything to me. I calm myself, center my focus, and relax the tension in my muscles. Then, I close my dream eyes, still remaining watchful of the shadows on the asphalt below.

She hesitates for a moment, obviously surprised by the sudden change in my emotional state, but that only lasts a moment before she lunges for me in an animalistic fashion. Without turning, I bring my sword up over my body, twist over backwards, and with one hand thrust it into her, all faster than the human eye can see. Her primal cry echoes across the neighborhood.

From there, the dream progresses in an odd fashion. I find that the woman I had just injured has only come to see what kind of warrior I am. To some capacity, she claims to be real, and says she was sent by friends. I spent a good deal of time after that trying to heal her up. I'm not skilled enough to close the wounds well enough with energy alone, so I just sew them up with TK and some special stitching material I materialize on the spot. I wake up soon afterwards.

    14. 06/19/10 Strange Infection

by , 06-22-2010 at 02:52 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
I was in bed. I rolled over and looked at the clock. It was way too early to get up. It was only 2:30 am. The fact that this time is actually before the time I went to bed didn't occur to me at the time. I had to use the bathroom. I got out of bed and almost tripped over the edge of my waterbed… almost fell flat on my face… ow… I hit my shin on the frame of my waterbed and It really hurt. I figured that would leave a nice bruise for the morning… I reached down to feel if it was cut or not. There was something weird there… a really nasty scratch? I turned on the light when I got to the bathroom and looked at my shin. I went into the bathroom and turned on the light. There was a scratch there… much more than that. I could see the bone! But it wasn't bleeding… I gently touched the wound… and it hurt a lot. There was no way I had hit my shin that hard! I would need several bandages for that… and a lot of time for the flesh to grow back… but something was off. I finally decided to do a RC. I found out I was dreaming!

I looked back at the wound in my shin and healed it just by focusing on it. The injury went away. I stopped to think about my goals. I needed to go heal MoSh and Asuka. That was my first plan. So I opened a portal to go find MoSh. I went through the portal and into MoSh's inner world. I looked around, and the first thing I noticed was that the house wasn't the same as I am used to seeing it. I remembered that MoSh had wanted it rebuilt differently after it had been blown up in an attack. (Unfortunately, I can't seem to keep a steady image of the place in my mind long enough to look up a pic! >.<) I went over to the front door. I knocked on it, and it opened. I went inside and I saw Data not far inside. He looked over at me. He indicated a door I didn't recognize and said MoSh and Asuka were both in there.

In the next room I found MoSh and Asuka together. They were sitting on a very nice couch right next to each other. It looked really comfortable. I went over to them. MoSh said Asuka needed healing. MoSh said Asuka hadn't been herself since she had gotten back after the last time she was taken. I looked at Asuka, focusing on seeing her energy. When I sensed her energy it did look like there was some dark energy in there, and it didn't belong there. It was keeping Asuka's energy from becoming completely stable. I looked over at MoSh to see if he had any of the same. There was something weird in him… a strange form of energy. It didn't look the same as Asuka's dark energy, but it also was not a good thing to have there. I would do healing spells on both of them to clear that out. I used Silver and Cold to draw all of the dark energy in Asuka into me, and stabilized it right away. I looked at MoSh… I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to just absorb that energy since it looked kind of strange. I thought it might have more of a tendency to go unstable, and I don't need any more of that. So I focused on the song Touch My Heart from the Devil Hunter Yohko soundtrack. The song played through, golden energy formed and flowed through both MoSh and Asuka. The strange energy inside MoSh got cleansed out. The entire room was filled with golden energy when MoSh pulled a guitar out of nowhere and started playing.

After the songs were over, there was still residual golden energy hanging in the room. It made for a very relaxing atmosphere. MoSh and Asuka hugged for a bit. MoSh turned over to me. He said he was willing to help me with one of my goals… I wondered if he was lucid. I asked him if he realized this was a dream. He looked around, at Asuka, and then back at me. He looked at his hand and then back at me again. I wondered if he was doing a RC. I said a couple of the goals I have include opening the strange book from the Akashic Records (which was what MoSh had volunteered to help with) and he had suggested we dilate time to make sure the dream would last long enough to get more than one thing done. I said I didn't feel like waking up yet, so I would just open the portal back to my inner world. If he was about to wake up, though, we could try time dilation first. He said he was ok. I opened a portal back to my inner world. Both MoSh and I went through.

On the other side we were in my bedroom in my inner world. MoSh was looking around strangely. I asked if he was ok. He said yeah. I asked if he would remember the dream. He said no. I pulled a Gibbs on him and asked again if he was going to remember the dream. He said no. I wasn't sure if he was not really lucid or if he was just being stubborn… I took the book off of my dresser. It was locked tight as always. MoSh took the book and looked at it for a bit, turning it over in his hands and looking at the lock. He looked at some of the markings on the book. I wondered if he was understanding any of it. I remembered that Tigress had also said she would help. Maybe I should go get her… so both she and MoSh could look at it together with me, all at the same time. I was thinking about opening a portal when I felt like I was waking up. I asked MoSh about the time dilation. He said to count while focusing on one part of the dream and everything else… um… ok… I focused on the book that MoSh was holding. I wasn't sure how to focus on that and everything at once, though. I was counting. 1… 2… 3… 4… lost focus on the book when trying to focus on the room… then the room was spinning, and then I woke. D'Oh!

    15. Dwarven Artificer

by , 06-22-2010 at 12:21 AM (Sailing the Noosphere)
This seems to be a dream within a dream; I start playing Dungeons and Dragons at my research station, choosing the dwarf artificer as my character. Perspective quickly shifts to being the dwarf in a fantasy worldscape. I'm heading with my party into a mining town, which has as its access point an impressive tower that lowers into the mines. I enter and begin walking down the stairs to my assigned bunk. It seems to take ages, and as I pass the other adventurers who have already gotten bunks, I notice that their names are written on whiteboards in the style of a college dorm. All of them have names of people I know from my college, as well.
When I arrive at the bottom of the stairs, I find my real life name written on a board beside a bunk. The space is very spartan, and in the back of my head I wish there were a faucet to wash my hands. When I turn around, lo and behold, there is one! I remember the "turnaround summon" I've read about on the Dreamviews forums, and this reality check lets me realize that I'm dreaming. I get about a second or two of true lucidity as water pours over my hands, but after that I wake up. My eyes are still closed and I try fervently to get lucidity back, but the images I'm conjuring are just like those of a waking daydream and not the full-sense immersion of a lucid dream.
