    1. Medieval Village Hides Wall of Water

      by , 04-15-2012 at 02:04 AM
      Old partially Lucid Dream
      -------------------------------

I'm walking in what looks like a medieval village. It's modern day now, and there are many store fronts, so I gaze into their windows. It's pleasant and I'm in no hurry. The sidewalk is in good condition which contrasts the state of some of the buildings I pass. Many are made of stone and their walls are crumbling. It's chilly and night is falling.

As I near the corner of the sidewalk, I get a sense of concern. I turn the corner and am engulfed in this deep, angry wall of water. The waves grab me and pull me away from the safety of the quaint village. I go under and hear the sounds of the sea swirling around me. I force my way to the surface and gasp for air. Trying desperately to keep my head above the water, I notice in front of me, maybe several hundred yards beyond me, other people who were trapped in this sea are just walking out of the water and back onto the sidewalk.

No matter how hard I swim, struggle, or fight to move myself closer to shore, I cannot. I'm exhausted and I go under again. The waves are crashing all around me and beneath the water I feel assaulted, pushed here and there. I kick hard to make it to the surface once more and look to the shore. It seems even farther away and I am so envious of how effortlessly these other people leave the angry waters that I seem trapped in.

      I wake.

After thought: I did some research on dreams because to me this felt like something which could be cathartic or symbolic. Water often times represents emotions. And I had been pulled beneath and was fighting against the water...my emotions? I felt trapped by them - unable to escape them. That was my take of this dream. Any thoughts or other observations are welcomed.
    2. Blood in Dreams=Blood on my Pillow? , Even More Drowning

by , 04-14-2012 at 11:26 PM (Hopeless Wanderings)
I know I haven't posted in awhile but I've been so lazy. I've been remembering dreams but I'm too lazy to type them up. Half of them have been about drowning, as usual, including the one from last night. I'm going to post that one as well as one I had a few nights ago that really creeped me out..

I had a dream that I was bleeding all over. I don't know why. I was just taking a shower and blood was turning the water red and I was bleeding out. In another dream the same night, I was trying to help a friend from my college with her math homework but she became frustrated and started cutting her wrist. She didn't stop there. She kept cutting all up her arm and was bleeding all over. It was quite scary/creepy. When I woke up I found a spot of blood on my pillow. I have NO idea where it came from. Weird.

I was in a pool with some of my friends in some sort of waterpark or hotel. The pool wasn't too big, maybe about one-third the size of a regular high school pool. But it was super crowded. There must have been atleast 60 people all crowded in there. There was barely any space between any of the people. I was treading water somewhere in the middle of the pool when I started to get pulled under. I tried to fight my way back to the surface but there was just so many people in my way, and I gulped in water and started drowning. I made it to the surface just barely and managed to wave my arms for help. Next thing I remember, a lifeguard had pulled me out and brought me back to life. Most everyone was out of the pool now, either leaving or watching me.

    3. A Certain Slant of Light

by , 02-01-2012 at 08:08 PM (Hopeless Wanderings)
It was night-time and I was running away from something, no one in particular, just life in general maybe. I felt like I could go on running forever, even when I began to pick up speed. It felt amazing. I was only a few blocks from my house by the new fancy houses when I heard a really loud noise coming from a tv in one of those fancy houses. I looked through the window of the house on the right corner by the four way stop, where the street goes to more fancy houses and a dead end. From a distance I could see the flashes of the tv through the window. I wanted to get a closer look, so I peered in the windows from not too far away. I saw the biggest tv I've ever seen, it was from floor to ceiling, and the ceiling was super high up, cathedral style. In this room were many different expensive things, like work out machines, arcade games, etc. Then somehow I found myself inside the house, staring at this boy around my age. He saw me and started freaking out. I didn't know what to do but then I realized I was invisable so that only he could see me. As he ran to get his sister I checked the place out a little and trie to run on the treadmill because I still wanted to keep running. His sister came in and said she didn't see anything, so it was just me and him. I decided that I was going to follow him from now on throughout his life, watch his every move, and help him if necessary. I didn't get to do much before I woke up though. I remember his parents came home and his dad was lecturing him about something while I was puting on some of his clothes.

I think I dreamt this because of a good book(Certain Slant of Light) I read about a ghost following a person around until they died. It was a very interesting book, and it made for a very interesting dream

In another dream, I was by the beach with a friend and we were looking for an area with high waves so we could body surf, or body board.. or something. I didn't feel like walking to the other side of the beach where the huge waves usually are so I decided to test out the water right next to us. I took a step in and watched the waves come in, observing them. But they were bigger than I thought and they took over me and dragged me out and under the water. I flailed my arms and screamed for help as I swallowed the salty sea water and tried to stay above the water.

Then, a lucid from a few nights ago that I don't remember much from because I didn't take the time to record it till now.
I was jumping up and down, trying to stay up in the air and get higher and higher. Then I noticed this guy my age following me. He had black or brown hair and he was really tall, skinny, and cute. I kept trying to jump higher than him, flapping my arms up and down faster and faster and trying to propell myself up. I sort of knew I was asleep from the start, so I casually mentioned to him "We are in a dream." and he agreed. "What should we do now?" I asked. We couldn't come up with anything cool to do so we just kept walking/flying around. I don't know if I was 100% sure I knew I was dreaming because I thought he was really there with me dreaming. Later in the dream we spend more time together and we climbed a tree and he kissed me. Then I woke up :/

    4. Drowning in math

      by , 01-31-2012 at 04:05 AM
Another one of my nine-day dreams. This particular one occurred much earlier in the morning than usual, perhaps 3 - 6 am.

I'm sitting down in a wooden room. Beside me is an eleven-year-old girl, who needs to learn math. I begin showing her some things I know about math, including graphs and equations.

Half an hour into the study session, I think to myself: maybe it isn't a good idea to be showing an 11-year-old quadratic and cubic functions. She probably doesn't even know what a function IS.

Surprisingly, she actually gets most of what I teach her. I sit around looking at a parabola superimposed on quadrant grids. Interesting.

A bit later, I or some other "thing", is drowning as it, or I, oscillate in a continuous sinusoidal pattern. The facade is a jungle. Below the water, I think something is not enough, and above the water, something else is not enough and another thing is too much. Why didn't I rescue them? Those disparate thoughts, coming straight out of nowhere.

Shortly afterward, there's this flat thing rising, sinking, rising again. I hear the sound of my alarm.

Just after 6 am now. I wake up, soon to get dressed, because actually I have a math exam today.
    5. A Beautiful Tragedy, Dorm Livin, Hotel Danger

by , 11-06-2011 at 08:43 PM (Hopeless Wanderings)
This night was very vivid and full of intense dreams. Unfortunately I don't have the best dream recall right now so I can't remember all the details, just some of the main stuff. I would have liked to remember more of the first dream because it was so overwhelming but since it was the first dream it faded from my memory over the night.

      A Beautiful Tragedy
One of my old friends had died(by suicide, I think?) and it was my fault. Although I haven't spoken to her in awhile I still cared a lot about her and I had done something to cause her death. I was a complete mess, crying and crying nonstop for what seemed like forever. I didn't want to live with myself because of what I had done. It was just awful, and the pain felt so real. I don't think I've ever felt so.. broken(then again no one close to me has ever died in RL). I went to my room and curled up on my bed and just weeped and weeped and it was just such a real, heavy feeling. My mom came into my room and she just held me and comforted me as I continued crying. It was almost like.. a beautiful tragedy. When I felt myself waking up from this, I was actually sad that it was a dream. I wanted to go back to that place, back to that feeling. I don't know why.. but it was just so beautiful.

      Dorm Livin
I was in a lake or a river with some people and swimming when someone came up to me and said something like, "It's your turn," and started shoving me under the water, not allowing me to come up. I didn't think they were trying to kill me because they had done this with some other people and they were fine, but after awhile of intense struggling more people came to help him push me down under the water and I just gave up. I thought if I stopped moving they would let go. My eyes were closed, and I took a breath of air through my nose, as if it were sticking up from the surface, allowing me to breathe. Then I "woke up" and I was at the end of the hallway of the dorms where the door is, opening it to let someone in. She was someone who had gone to my high school but was now at my same college. I found it odd that I had appeared here and not awake in my bed, so I said "I think I was sleeping up until this point because I just woke up now and here I am.. I don't know how I got here." She didn't seem to believe me. Then me and two new people who I had just met there(not in RL) started painting some picture on white boards. One of the girls looked at me suspiciously, then threw some paint at me, starting a paint fight. I thought it would be cool to have a shirt made of paint splatters so we took turns hand-printing each others shirts.

      Hotel Danger
Me, my parents and my sis were in a hotel in Chicago and we wanted to get back to our rooms. We had to go in this elevator, which really freaked me out because it didn't look right and when I tried to get in the doors almost closed on me. Inside the elevator I was shaking and actually crying with fear, as everyone else just stood there normally. The elevator seemed to drop 100 floors and then finally came to a stop at the lobby. I got off right when the doors opened but my sis and mom stayed on because they wanted to go to their floor were our room was. I refused to go back on that thing, so my dad came out and accompanied me. We were going to take the escalators back up instead, but the escalators were huge, like 10 times wider and larger than they should be. The first two escalators were out of service and my dad didn't know that so he tried to go on one and a lady dressed like a hooker said "Sir you can't go on this escalator" so he went on the next one and she followed him and said he couldn't go on that one either, till finally he was able to get on the only working one. I tried to get on it but it was already going up and I couldn't lift my body over the side of it. It was like a giant raft, and the whole thing moved up and down. Then it started bouncing up and down like a trampoline and people were having a party on it. I saw my friend Dani fall off the side of it and wanted to go see if she was okay, but them a HUGE wave appeared. It was the size of the building, which was like 8 stories high. I freaked out and ran to the wave pool that just happened to be there, the wave following behind me, and I went to the deep end of the wave pool and faced the wall. I took a deep breath and went under, hoping this would help take the impact. The wave crashed over me smoothly as I heard people around talking about how huge and awesome the wave was. Then I took a breath and realized I could breathe underwater, then woke up.
    6. The Voices Told Me To (Kill A Man), Dizzy Moutains, Drowning Doll

by , 10-17-2011 at 04:28 AM (Hopeless Wanderings)
I've just sort of given up on keeping a dream journal and attempting to lucid dreams but I wish I could get better dream recall like I used to have. So I probably won't write down dreams in here unless they are interesting or I actually remember them, which lately has been about once a month.

...and here is my monthly dream journal entry:
(since my dream recall has gone to shit, my entries are getting smaller and smaller . I did remember this when I woke up but was too lazy to post it till late the next night so all the details are gone)

Someone was after me, maybe trying to kill me, I don't remember. We were isolated in the woods and I was getting scared. Once in awhile I heard voices and other sounds, not knowing exactly knowing where they were coming from. I thought that I might have schizophrenia because I knew this wasn't normal. Anyway, I'm not sure how or why, but I turned the tables on this guy and ended up killing him. It was fairly easy, and afterwards the cops started coming. I wasn't scared of them at all. I was just sitting there, waiting on a patch of grass in the woods. I think I might have killed more than one person in this time. As the cops were on the way, I thought to myself that if they find out I killed these men then I would probably plead insanity in court because I was schizophrenic.

In another dream I was climbing down from this really tall mountain. There was a base camp at the bottom and a group of people watching to make sure everyone was getting down safe. They told us to be careful because the rapid altitude change could make us dizzy and disoriented. I made it almost to the bottom where this helper lady was standing and asked if I was okay. I said I was fine, but then started leaning forward off the face of another cliff. I couldn't control it and felt dizzy. I tried my hardest to keep my balance and I think I got it.. but then passed out again when I was back at the base camp because I'm a loser like that.

In another fragment, I was drowning in a pool, then I turned into the person saving another person drowning, but then the person drowning turned into a doll, which I brought to the surface and pushed on it's chest until water came out, "saving" its life.
    7. fjord collapse; rescuing drowned boy; abortion jokes

      by , 09-13-2011 at 12:06 PM
      Good morning, everybody.

      Dream #1

No vision, or just black. A voice said how "an entire fjord" (???) in France had collapsed into the sea.

      Dream #2

A bunch of people, possibly including me, were on a huge ship like a cruise ship. A disaster had occurred -- possibly that another gigantic cruise ship had come apart and sunk. Almost everybody on board had been killed. The people on this new cruise ship were now out in the ocean, not to find the living people, but to pull out of the water a lot of dead people who were floating to the surface.

The ship coasted over the black waters and under a yellow sky. A young woman with coppery skin and long, black hair stood out on the deck of the ship. She spotted the body of a young man who had apparently drowned. She threw out a rope to grab the boy's body. She pulled the body onto the ship.

The woman was now in a cabin right on deck. The body of the young man was laid out on the floor of the front room of the cabin. The woman had walked into a back room. She now walked out to the front room. I may have seen from her viewpoint at this time.

The young man on the floor was possibly Asian, with coppery skin. He wore a yellow t-shirt and darkish khaki shorts or casual pants. He was a little bit overweight and shaved bald. He looked older than his age, somehow. I attributed it to the stress of his death and the effect of the water on his body.

But now the young man began to make motions with his mouth. He slowly mouthed some words and made some cringing expressions with his eyebrows, as if he were in extreme pain, and as if he were still afraid of dying. He may have coughed some water out of his mouth.

There were some other people in the cabin, possibly including the Captain. It was recognized, possibly by the Captain, that the woman had saved the young man's life. I'm pretty sure I saw from my own viewpoint at this point, not from the woman's. The woman said that she had a feeling, when she saw the boy in the water, that he was still alive, or that he could be resuscitated.

      Dream #3

I was watching a comedy. But it was also like I was reviewing the movie, after I'd seen it. Reviewing the movie, I commented that I had no idea there was going to be a scene with such crude humor in it.

I could only partly remember the scene, and I kept trying to see it, but it had something to do with abortion. It was like it was blocked from my view by a lot of sillhouettes of people's heads.

I then saw another scene, in which a group of "average guys," like in a comedy for guys, were all standing next to each other before a table filled with jars of aborted babies. The guys had to pull the babies out of the jars for some kind or humane reason. But they were all kind of bumbling about at the task so much that they were actually disfiguring the bodies.

The men were using weird implements to get the babies out of the jars. One of the men used a huge knife, to which the baby stuck, like a magnet. The baby's back may have looked charred. The baby may also have had eyes with no whites, which were all a dark grey-blue.

I felt bad because for some reason I had taken my mom to this movie with me. I had thought it was just an ordinary comedy. But those two abortion-comedy scenes were really gross, and I was afraid my mom would be freaked out by them.

My mom and I were in a car, pulling into a space in a big parking lot. I tried to justify the grossness of the comedy in the movie by explaining that the film had been made by the guy who made There's Something about Mary.
    8. Drowning(for the millionth time)

by , 08-21-2011 at 06:33 PM (Hopeless Wanderings)
      I keep having drowning dreams...

I just had one a few days ago about drowning but I forgot it.. so this is another one from just last night.

I was at this small waterpark thing with some friends and there was this steep tan slide that looked really fun and it led to a deep pool(maybe 30 feet). So I climbed the stairs to the top and waited behind this boy who was first in line. It seemed to take him forever to go down the slide and he kept repeating something, I forgot what, before he went down. Finally, it was my turn. I went down without hesitation and it was really fun! But when I splashed into the pool I just kept going down. I figured someone would see me not coming up, but then I looked around and saw about 5 or more people also drowning around me! A lifegaurd jumped in but started saving everyone around me. I was stuck at the bottom.

    9. Lava Project/Drowning

by , 07-14-2011 at 07:19 AM (Hopeless Wanderings)
Me and Niki were in Geology class together and we had to create a volcano and take pictures of it. We were by the beach and somehow this mini volcano was there all ready for us. It was about the size of a trailer and Niki told me to pour buckets of fake lava down it, but she yelled at me for getting the wrong color or something stupid like that and I couldn'd understand what I was doing wrong, or why I was even working on a volcano project for a geology class that I don't even have anymore.. I got pretty annoyed with the whole thing and decided to go down to the beach to take a break. I was there with my sister then, and the beach was not too crowded, but there were people scattered along it. The waves looked medium sized, not too big, and definitely managable, or so I though. So me and my sister went in, I don't think I intended to go all the way on because I still had my fancy camera with me and it was bound to get wet. Then the waves picked up and I lost control and started drowning so I waved for someone to help and blacked out. When I woke up, I was standing next to my sister knee deep in water with a lifeguard standing next to us. I have no idea what happened but I was then I was fine and got out of the water safely.

    10. 100TH Dream Post! Drowning X2

by , 06-17-2011 at 06:37 PM (Hopeless Wanderings)
So I've been joined to DV for almost 3 years now(woohoo!) and I've finally reached the point of having 100 dream entries!(woohoo!) And this one just happens to be about dying.(woohoo!)
Well actually this isn't really my 100th dream since I sometimes post more than 1 dream in a post.. but its still awesome!

I was at this place.. I'm not sure it it was a waterpark or just a pool area. There were two pools, one was huge with tons of swimming lanes and it also was a large wave pool. Then there was the smaller one, made just to be a wave pool with smaller waves than the main pool. The main pool had a super tall diving board in the last lane and it was the deepest part of the pool, reaching about 40 feet down. I'm scared of deep water(in real life too) but I told myself that it was just water and nothing would go wrong, so I climbed up to the top of the tall diving board and did this awkward flip thing off. I went way down to the bottom of the pool and ended up touching the bottom, which freaked me out a bit, knowing how deep I was. I got disoriented and couldn't swim to the surface for some reason, so I just layed there at the bottom and was just dying there. I felt a tug and was dragged up to the surface by one of the female lifeguards, who lifted me out of the pool and put me on the side. I could still hear and see almost everything going on but was apparently unconscious. Every one of the lifeguards was going crazy getting everyone out of the pool because it was standard precedure during an emergency. I saw one of the lifeguards dive back into the deep end of the pool just to make sure there were no other people drowning. I felt someone pounding on my chest and I coughed up some water and "came back" but was still sort of out of it. I just layed there on the ground next to the pool as everyone was still freaking out, clearing the pool, and calling 911. This is when my memory gets fuzzy. I think the paramedics showed up and surrounded me but I don't remember being taken away because the next thing I know, I'm standing by the smaller wave pool, ready to jump in. (hmm.. what a brilliant idea-go in a wave pool right after you almost drowned in another) I thought to myself "it would be a lot harder to drown in this smaller wave pool," and went in. Well, those small waves were more powerful than I thought. I got caught up in one and it sent me backwards and threw me, head first, into the man-made "shore." And then it happened all over again. I was unconscious but could still hear and see, there were lifeguards going crazy, etc etc. So.. yea.. that was interesting.

    11. 06/16/11 The Lost Caverns of Pennywise

by , 06-17-2011 at 07:50 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
      The Lost Caverns of Pennywise
I am in a forest with MoSh and Asuka. I look around to see where we are, but I don't recognize the place. MoSh asks where this lost cavern of… um… this lost cavern of whatever is. I say it's not far off, and I start looking for a cave entrance. We are at the base of a mountain, so I figure it will be easy to find a cave entrance here. When I finally find it I am surprised to see it looks like it is the appropriate size for a hobbit maybe… it is a tiny hole.

To go through it there would be no choice but to get down and crawl through, maybe even wiggle through on my belly. I point at the hole and tell MoSh I thought the entrance was bigger, but maybe it collapsed. MoSh suggests blasting through, but that would destroy too much, might cause more cave-ins. I said it couldn't be that small for far, the caverns themselves are huge. So it must just be for a short way. I crawl into the hole and down the narrow passage. It doesn't seem very short, of course I am unable to move very quickly on my belly. MoSh is behind me, and Asuka is behind him. The hole we are crawling through is lined with mud. It is getting us filthy, but at least there's no chance of getting stuck. I come to a dead end. Shit! We have to back out?! No… there's a stone blocking the passage. I give it a shove and it falls away, dropping about ten feet down to water. We have reached the caverns. I tell MoSh to jump out of the small passage, there's water below. By the rock landing I could tell the water was deep. We jump into the water with a splash and grope blindly until we find the shore.

It is pitch black down here. I use the spell 'lumos' from Harry Potter, somehow without a wand, and the cavern lights up. It is a huge cavern, I see the hole we entered through on a low area of roof over the water. There's definitely no way to go back the way we came! There are several passages exiting the cavern, and since we have no set destination, we just take the closest one. The cave walls are lined with strange drawings and strange writings, images that clearly depict a war going on until it starts raining and then the rain seems to bring peace somehow. A strange creature is blocking our path. It has huge bulbous eyes that seem to glow with a faint white light, he doesn't seem to like the light I am creating, but he also doesn't seem to know where the light is from. The creature looks mean, like a form of mutant goblin, and it snarls at us to prepare to die. I tell him he can't be serious… if he values his own life, he had better back off. We aren't here to kill anyone, but if you force it… The goblin retreats into the darkness. We explore some more, Asuka finds some flowers growing in a small wet area, the flowers glow in the dark. They are quite beautiful. The goblin also returns with several friends and he repeats his threat. I repeat my warning. He attacks. I summon my Witchblade sword and cut him down easily. This gives the other goblins pause, and they retreat quickly into the darkness.

We find the end of the passage blocked by an ornate looking door, a heavy looking wooden door… seems odd… It takes some effort to open the door, as it seems to be on old hinges that don't work too well any more. As the door slides open the ruins of an amazing city are revealed. It looks like something out of ancient Rome or Greece, and I realize my light is no longer needed. The walls and the ceiling of the cavern, as well as much of the floor, are all covered with those glowing flowers. The door, which opened with difficulty, now slams closed behind us all by itself. We set off to explore the place. I am wishing I could somehow get photos of this place back to my waking life… that would be cool. Maybe I can model something like this… but that will take forever! We keep looking around and we soon find a temple in the center of the city. The temple is mostly intact. We go inside and find there is a woman there and the room is full of treasure. She says we should go ahead and take a share of treasure if we wish… but only the worthy will be able to get across the water. There is a pool of water around the platform with the treasure. The pool is radiating pure light energy. MoSh and Asuka go over to look at the treasure.

I am about to join them when I notice laughter, rather disturbing sounding laughter. No one else seems to hear that. I look around for the source of the sound but I don't see anything. The laughter gets louder and sounds creepy. I look towards a dark arch and see glowing silver eyes through it. A clown emerges, the clown looks like Pennywise from the book It by Stephen King. What is he doing here? He disappears through the arch, I follow him, I don't think it is a good idea for Pennywise to be wandering around here. On the other side of the arch is an abandoned carnival, the carnival has a creepy evil atmosphere around it. Pennywise is standing next to one of those wheels where they tie a person to it and another person throws daggers at it, getting the blades as close to the person as possible without cutting them, to demonstrate the thrower's skill and the courage and trust of the person on the wheel.

There is a man tied to the wheel, Pennywise has cut his stomach open and is pulling out the man's intestines and twirling them around a fork like spaghetti. The man is screaming in pain. Pennywise says I should come over and eat some… YUCK! I call my Witchblade sword back and I slice Pennywise in half down the middle. The scene around me melts and I find myself submerged in the strange fluid formed as the scene melts. It is a thick and viscous fluid, impossible to swim in, like mud. I sink underneath the crap but that shouldn't be a problem, I'm dreaming. But I can't breathe… I can't move and I can't breathe. What the fuck?! I decide the only way to get out of there is to go ahead and wake up.
    12. A mystical forest

      by , 04-02-2011 at 02:28 PM

I am watching the news about a country where there is war, or a natural disaster, or both. The reporter is talking about how it is affecting the Finnish people. He says that it is a terrible disaster, because some of the Finns who were there on holiday had to be evacuated while they were shopping.

Suddenly I realize that I'm in that country too. I am floating in the ocean and I'm about to drown. Luckily there's someone there who is saving people. I help her lift someone up into a helicopter. When it's my turn to be saved all she can do is take me to a boat that I can hold on to. There is already a diver holding on to the boat. My rescuer talks to the diver in Finnish. They are talking about me, but I'm not sure how I should react to what they say because I don't think they realize I understand Finnish.

I manage to get into the boat and put on my bath robe. Then I sit there shivering. My sister, S., comes into the boat (that is a car now). She asks me if I've been swimming. I get annoyed at that and say: "does it look like I've been swimming?". To me it's obvious that I haven't and I think that she should understand that too. I think that I'll probably get ill because I'm so cold and wet, and immediately I start coughing.

We keep driving until we get to a garden. Then we get out and go for a walk. My friend C. is there too. She and S. start talking about how rude I am, and S. explains that it's because I'm really smart and I believe everyone else is as smart as me. I don't think that's true but I don't say anything about it.

I go back to the car. On the way there I notice that I'm wearing a wrist watch. It looks a bit like one I used to have a long time ago. I notice that the watch part of it is a bit loose. I think that it's a good accessory to wear on a beach. I get in to the car. I sit in the middle of the back seat. There I find a pair of sunglasses. I decide to put them on, but when I look at them I notice that there's some dirt on them. I scrape it away with my nail. Then I notice a horrible smell. It's coming from the watch. My brother and two of my sisters are also sitting in the car. They get out really fast. I follow them and ask J. what's wrong. She stares at me as if she can't believe I don't know the answer to that and tells me that it's the horrible smell. I answer that my sense of smell is very bad. I think that that's only fair if I am as smart as S. said I am. E. gets the sun glasses and gives them to me. He tells me to trow them into the forest. I do as he asks.

We start walking down the road. It has black asphalt on it. To my left I can see some hills. They are very beautiful. I notice that on one of them there's a road and there's clouds below the road. I point it out to J. and she agrees that it's very beautiful. I start to really pay attention to my surroundings and I notice that all the colours are clearer than I've ever seen them before. The air also seems cleaner than any air I've ever breathed before. I think that it must be because we are in the mountains in the northern part of Finland.

We continue walking and come into a forest. The trees there are very tall, but the ones closest to the road have been damaged and look sick. All the trees are conifers. The trunks of the trees are quite thick, but the branches are thin and stick out in clusters perpendicularly to the trunk. There are patches on the trees that are light reddish brown and where there are no branches. I pick up a branch that's fallen on the ground and notice that there is moss growing on it. Some of it clings to the branch and is white and some of it hangs form the branch and is green. When I look at the trees again I notice the same kind of moss on all of them.

We walk farther into the forest and the road becomes smaller and smaller. It turns from asphalt to a dirt road and finally it's only a path no wider than that one person can walk along it. I look to my right and up. I notice there’s a tree hanging in the air. It's branches has become entangled in the branches of other trees and they have lifted it up. The tree is hanging there with roots and all and I think it must be dead. I notice that there's an old house at the end of the path. It looks abandoned. Just before I reach it I notice some branches falling to my right. They look a bit like a giant spider and I think that there are probably lots of poisonous spiders in this forest. Then I notice that the branches actually are a spider. It is white and pink. It has long, thin legs and when it stands it reaches to my knees. I become terrified and hurry into the house after my sisters. I tell them about the spider and try to hide behind them. Then I see the spider running towards me. I start to scream. The spider continues running towards be, but when it's close to me it runs past me and in to the next room.

Then I start to notice what the house looks like. It is in fact abandoned and there's a lot of dust and spider webs everywhere. Then I notice another spider. This one is much smaller than the last one, but it's still huge compared to most spiders. It is black and yellow. I start to scream again and the spider seems to become afraid and runs away. I think that I've never seen spiders act like these ones before. There's another spider there and I try screaming again. Again the spider runs away. I scream a bit more just to make sure that all the spiders in the room have run away. A. tells me she has found the thing we were looking for and we should signal the others. This should be done by shouting something about dreaming.
    13. A Sizable Strawberry

      A Sizable Strawberry

My mom’s driving her car. I’m in the middle of the backseat, Holden’s next to me and his little sister Sarah who is incredibly fat in my dream is on my right. Holden and I discuss selling strawberry chips, just like potato chips but sliced and fried strawberries instead. I see why we were discussing this: up ahead, there’s a giant strawberry! Not the size of a house or a mansion or even a plane, it’s the size of an airport!

My dad is in the front seat now. Instead of parking our car in the big sea-side parking lot (the strawberry is right next to the sea), we just drive up it. This scares me quite a bit because once we get the car on the strawberry, we are almost completely vertical. I ask if we could flip over and my dad reassures me that’s impossible. I close my eyes until the car stops on top of it.

We all get out and are given little green baskets to put our pickings in. I don’t see how this is going to work until I look down at the surface of the strawberry: it’s covered in little yellow tags. Each one is attached to the flowering part of a seed, which can be pulled and a perfect cube of strawberry comes out. I start pulling a few and walk over to where my dad is.

He’s on a little lake on the strawberry. It’s not too big, maybe 12 x 12 feet and full of murky strawberry-sea-water and long stems. He’s pulling huge cubes from around the edges of it and I help him out, pulling them and putting them in his basket.
Walking on it isn’t difficult, it’s plushy and kind of fun if I don’t look down: we are quite a ways up. I walk around and see that everyone is going into a little observatory room on the top most point of the strawberry. Inside, everyone’s standing kind of far back from the main window. Kayla, my ex-boyfriends new girlfriend, is by the window really close. My mom, my dad and Holden and I walk towards the window too to see.

Suddenly, the floor beneath the window lets go like a trap door and we tumble out of it. I don’t remember falling, only hitting the water. My leg is somehow attached to something big so when I start sinking, I feel like I’ll die here (though I didn’t feel exactly hopeless or bad: I just knew I could, possibly, die). My dad comes swimming at me and unhooks my leg. Kayla is still under somewhere, so my mom looks for her. When she comes up from the depths, she kind of nudges me back down and I hit my leg on a really weird smooth rock section. It happens twice but we finally make it back to the shore.

My dream repeats. Everything is the same until we are in the observatory. I change the dream so all of us are kind of next to the window but not that close, so when the trap door drops, only Kayla goes down. My mom saves her. It wasn’t malicious of me, I just didn’t want to be scared again and I had no control over Kayla.

    14. Flying Bus Crash

      by , 10-12-2010 at 01:11 PM (exdreamer's Dream Journal)
I was on some kind of flying bus or other multi-passenger transport vehicle. Outside it was dark and stormy. The vehicle was flying over a city. It looked pretty run down -- a very dystopian sci-fi vibe.

I realised we were heading straight into the centre of a storm. It was like a hurricane and epic thunder storm combined. I knew it was dangerous and started shouting at whoever was driving to avoid the storm. It was too late though. The vehicle was shaken and vast amounts of water were pouring in to it, filling it up.

Mostly everyone was knocked unconscious. Only myself and another guy were alright. I told him to help me open the back window. The vehicle was still flying and had passed through the storm but was almost full of water and heading towards the ground. We opened the window and I pulled out some kind of breathing apparatus and swap through the vehicle waking people up.

I was telling them that they had to go and jump out of the window because we would crash. It seemed like it was somehow the safer option? I came across N, an old enemy from school. I was tempted to leave him to his death but decided it was wrong and saved him. Most of the other people on in the vehicle were people I knew but I can’t quite remember the specifics.

We must have all survived because we were know in a deserted city centre. Everything was so brown and dirty. The storm could be seen off in the distance, it looked like a scary destructive force yet really beautiful and natural. I was worried that it was heading in our direction. I was talking with someone and they disagreed with me saying that it would move off another way. It suddenly began to move at a rapid pace to the right of my view and was far enough away to not worry about.

There was a girl with me. She was really beautiful but not someone I know from reality. She was either my girlfriend or someone I was in a sort-of relationship with. I felt like I trusted her a great deal.

I found myself sitting with some people talking about what we should do. I said that we should go to a nearby town to look for something -- possibly other people or supplies, it wasn’t clear. I was told I had to take someone with me. I said I would take the girl, but the idea was shot down for some reason. It was commented that I trusted her too much. I insisted and it was agreed except that T, an old school friend, would have to come wit me. I didn’t like the idea because I didn’t trust him. I also knew that T wasn’t his real name. I considered him to be a slippery character that kept changing his identity. He was with some random girl who laughed in a knowing slightly sinister way that made me feel uneasy.

I went to find the girl from earlier. She was sleeping in a make-shift shelter made of road signs. I touched her exposed belly gently and woke her softly. She smiled and I stroked her arm. I said I was sorry to wake her but we were going to scout out a nearby town and that it’d be good to spend some time together.
    15. The Elf Prince

by , 09-07-2010 at 07:24 PM (Visions in the Dark)
I am lost in a dark forest and though I cannot see them, I know there are goblins chasing me. The trees of the forest are huge and look like sequoias except that their bark is grey and white rather than red. I can see the full moon sometimes between the branches of the huge trees but it offers little light to find my way through the forest.

I come to a river that is is not very wide but it is very deep and the water is moving very fast. I am afraid that I will be swept away with the current if I try to swim across. I head downstream, following as close to the river as I can while staying amoungst the trees.

Because of the noise of the fast flowing water, I cannot hear goblins sneaking up behind me. One of them grabs my arm but I shake him off and in a panic I jump into the river. The water carries me fast and far away from the goblins but I have trouble keeping my head above the water and start to drown.

I am almost out of air when someone grabs me around the waist and pulls me to the other side of the river. I cough out all the water I swallowed as the man who saved me pats me gently on the back. When I have calmed down a bit I see that we are in a clearing and with no trees blocking the moonlight I can see the man who saved me.

He looks like Legolas (as played by Orlando Bloom in Peter Jackson's rendition of the Lord of the Rings trilogy), and is dressed in royal silver and blue robes. A silver crown sits on his head and catches the moonlight in such a way that it looks as if there is a glowing halo surrounding his head.

I lay in awe on the ground and look up at him and he just softly smiles at me. I cannot remember any more of this dream.
