    1. The Lovely Storm: A lucid dream

by , 08-15-2010 at 05:40 PM (The Nomad Chronicles)
I am at a party. There are half naked women making out. I find this a little odd, and annoying for some reason. I leave and go outside. I am a futuristic city.

There are couple dressed oddly making out. One is a huge Samoan man in a green dress, and a little White woman. Air cars fly by... some strange alien creature hops past and grins at me...

      Okay... Am I dreaming?

I pinch my nose shut, yet I can breathe. I am dreaming.

Of course I am dreaming! Of course I am dreaming! I fly up into the sky. I am above the ocean. Hmm... what should I do next? Aha! I am going to fly to Angel and visit her in a dream! I fly toward the horizon. There is a beautiful storm cloud about to rain in front of me, lit up by the setting sun. It is amazingly detailed, orange, blue, grey, white, pink... Wait, I am flying west. I should be flying east to her in Florida. Okay...

I turn around and fly the other way. The storm is in front of me. DOH. This storm is in my way!

I look up. I see a hole in the sky forming above me. Oh, right, well, nothing between me and the Moon. I'll fly there and see if I can meet Raven. No, not fly. That will take too long. I can teleport. I can teleport! Right. I can teleport to Angel. I close my eyes and think of my girlfriend. I open them.

I am in bed. Awake. DOH!

    2. August 3, 2010

      by , 08-03-2010 at 07:17 PM (Requiem's DJ)
I took a CnG (http://lucidallnight.wordpress.com/2...oline-a-guide/) to jump start August and as usual, it worked well. Although my recall is still a little spotty, I remained pretty lucid and there were moments of hyper realism. So a pretty good one.

Snakes. Why'd it have to be snakes? (dild)

Don't remember the beginning too well. I remember my hands having more fingers than normal and I'm lucid.

It is dark and I am in the alley. I see the moon and I throw my hands out, palm down and try to lower it and raise a sun. The moon begins to fall but it turns into a fireball. Sort of a sun but it just returns to a normal moon when I stop focusing on it. I try to throw fireballs/energy balls but it doesn't work. The dream is quite stable so I try for at least 2 minutes. I try vocal commands and focuses on the feeling of my hands but nothing happens.

I fly around my neighborhood a little bit and it is sort of snowing a little. Nothing really catches my attention so I go into my neighbors house. There isn't even room to move. It is just sort of enclosed space. I lose vision but remain in the dream using tactile sensations.

I am back in the alley and again I lose vision. I drop to the floor and feel the gravel. I re-enter the dream.

I got into my neighbors house. NOT the normal neighbors' but a different house. I lose vision but I start destroying the place. Tossing chairs and tipping a dresser until the dream reforms and I am back in the alley.

I fly up and see basement swing doors in my neighbors yard.

I open them and climb down the ladder. It is sort of like a warehouse/old dusty tomb. There is dirt and some vines too. I see a snake coiled up and decide to go the other direction. More snakes. I sort of lose lucidity, just running through this place, stomping and killing any snakes in my way. I get bit at from the side by a snake and it feels just like a light bee sting. No big deal.

I stop running and stabilize. I kick up sort dirt and just watch it swirl around. I pick up a stick and hit this bucket on a rope and watch it swing around as gravity takes its toll and it slows. That was cool.

Then out of nowhere there is a naked women. No doubt inspired by a recent entry in Xel's journal. Things heat up and the dream is real vivid. It segues somehow into something else. I remember continuing through the warehouse place until I found Bruce Willis, who is mumbling about something that happens when we can no longer dream and we lose our hair. I ask “But what about death and God and all that?” and I wake up.

I think there was more but don't remember. Anyways, I got to go.

      Frags:

      1. My grandfather has a computer that is held together by duct tape at a party. Kyle Gass is on drums. I eat a red snow cone and it is really good.

    3. 07/23/10 A Day at the Beach

by , 07-26-2010 at 08:42 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
I was on the beach, walking along the shore and looking for seashells. It was a beautiful day out, the sun was actually a bit on the hot side, but that was balanced out by the cool breeze blowing in off of the ocean. What a wonderful day for a walk on the beach. I was wishing I had brought my swim suit because now, as I watched the waves rolling in from the endless blue horizon, I wanted to swim out into the water and let the waves carry me back to shore.

Well, I couldn't swim but I could definitely wade. So I took off my shoes and socks, rolled up my jeans, and waded out into the ocean until the water was about up to my knees. I continued walking along the shore, enjoying the ocean breeze, the smell of the ocean, the sounds of the seagulls, the fact there weren't any other people out there… but wait… I did see another person a bit farther up the beach. Crap. Well, I could at least hope there weren't very many people, maybe even just the one. I wasn't about to change my course just because there was one person on the beach, so I continued walking and got closer to the person, who turned out to be a man, and as I got closer to him I realized I knew him!

"Nomad?" I asked, surprised to see him.

"That's me," he said, "This is a dream, and I was about to ride a dream wave all of the way to the moon! Hop on the next wave and ride with me!"

Riding waves to the moon? There's no way that could be even remotely possible, although Nomad looked like he was being completely serious about the idea. I then registered the rest of what he had said, this is a dream, and he was going to ride a dream wave. Not just a normal wave, a dream wave. So this was a dream, then? I confirmed that it was definitely a dream when I did a RC, turned to Nomad and said this really was a dream.

Before anything more could be said about riding waves all of the way to the moon, however, the calm peacefulness of the beach was shattered by harsh yelling, energy blasts firing, and swords clashing. Who the hell was making so much noise?! I looked and saw that the beach was covered by Templars now, stupid Templars have to come around and ruin everything, and they apparently had come to attack Nomad or me or both of us.

Nomad transformed into a giant shark that was sparking with electricity. When he did that he was in mid jump and he came down on top of a few of the Templars and appeared to swallow them whole while shocking the Templars that just happened to be too close to him. Of course that left this huge sparking shark on the beach, when he would have been much better off in the water, so I telekinetically tossed him into the water, and then I threw a few Templars in after him so he wouldn't be alone out there. He seemed to think the Templars looked tasty, as he started eating them whole, I wondered if the lightning around him meant they were at least cooked before he ate them, and my next thought was, "Yuck! Nomad, you'll get diseases from eathing those things!" As if acknowledging that, Nomad spat out a chewed up Templar onto the beach, which was quite disgusting, and terrifying to one of the other Templars who ran for his life down the beach. That was the only Templar with a brain, however, as the others all yelled and came to attack both Nomad and me.

It was about here that Nomad figured out that since he was a dream shark he could swim just fine in the air instead of in the water, so he jumped out of the water and chased Templars around on the beach, grabbing them in his massive jaws and literally biting them in half… other Templars came straight at me and attacked, they got greeted my my Witchblade sword for their troubles. I told one of them that seemed hesitant to attack me to go away and leave Nomad and me alone, we were just trying to have a bit of a fun dream, hadn't been looking for any trouble with the Templars, so just go away! He didn't seem to think that was as good of an idea as I did, however, he attacked me anyway and got my Witchblade sword run through him for his trouble. Well, no one could say I didn't try to get them to just go away. The fighting continued for a while longer until the few remaining Templars finally got the picture and ran away through portals that opened up a short distance down the beach, leaving Nomad and me alone once again.

Nomad turned back to his normal self and asked what that thing with the Templars had been all about. I told him I didn't have a clue, I didn't even know for sure which one of us they had been after or if they might have been after us both or maybe they hadn't really been looking for either of us but just happened to find us… Nomad said they were just being stupid like they always are, so now how about riding the dream wave all the way to the moon? He pointed out to the ocean where the moon was rising over the horizon, the reflection of the moon was very clear in the ocean water. A very beautiful sight. Nomad and I didn't end up riding the wave to the moon, but we did have a nice length of time to enjoy the beach and relax there. The water was great, and we even found ourselves to be in the company of dolphins when we transformed to merpeople and swam a bit farther out into the ocean and farther up the coast. I was thinking that if it hadn't been for the interference of those stupid Templars, this would have been a perfect vacation dream!
    4. Going to the moon to swim in the Black Sea + to buy Sayers?

      by , 07-25-2010 at 12:20 PM
So the first part I remember is going to the moon with some of my school friends for a 'holiday'
We were sliding down the moon craters and just messing around.
A man called us into a room which led to the Black Sea. But funnily enough the Black Sea in my dream was ACTUALLY black. Once you were in there everything was black and to see anything you had to frantically swim to the surface. There were sharks in there but the man explained that unless you made a fuss they would only nibble at your toes. So afterwards I got out and I remember having a sayers paper bag.

      Awarness and logical thinking: medium

I took a nap after some spontanous reading in Exploring the world of lucid dreaming and dreamt about a DEILD, Im sure not I actully had one or if I was already dreaming.. but the lucidity was real!

For some reason I became aware that I was lying down and already in the early stages of SP, I could feel my body but couldnt hear any external sounds or recognize in any way that I was in a couch. Vibrations began and some humming sound could be heard while my body slowly started floating and I began seeing HI. I started reluctantly think bad thoughts and that something scary would appear but I tried to resist it and a picture of myself as a kid showed up which made me peaceful again and I entered the dream.

My sisters were sitting next to me as I had fully entered the dream in some kind of luxury hotel. I said hi and quickly moved on. I figured I'll go to the moon since I had been reading about shared dreaming on the moon recently. There were a few doors nearby so I just thought of the moon and made a kramer like entrance. I was very happy when I saw the desolate gray ground and starry sky, but it wasn't desolate at all as I looked a bit to the left. There was quite a few people standing by a lit up swimming pool, there was some kind of party on the moon. My friend showed up with a skateboard near the building that I just walked out of, I said hi to him and went on into another luxury building nearby. I thought of who I'd try to contact, I decided with Axel since we have the same time zone. (Here I failed to realize I was taking a nap thus making the timezones irrelevant).

There was alot of young people in the building, all dressed in ballroom clothes. My lucidity lowered a bit here when I saw all these beatiful girls but I snapped out of it and promised myself I wouldn't waste this LD on sex. So I just quickly grabbed someones breast and moved on. To ensure I wouldn't lose lucidity or the dream I kept rubbing my hands together a bit now and then. While I was walking I saw a guitar on the wall and figured since I cant play in waking life I should try in a dream. I had to do somekind of flip jump to reach it, it fell down and I started playing. First it sounded pretty good but not too long after I became as bad as I am in waking life. Still wanting to find someone in this crowded moon prom party I thought of using a cellphone to contact and right then my cellphone started ringing, I reached for it in my pocket but woke up. I was in the beginning of SP again, slow vibrations began but they stopped quickly and I woke up for real.

      Battle on The Moon (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

A man I recognize as Q shows up to take me to the battle on the moon Raven said I could come help with. I am told we're going to need numbers, so I whip up a huge army to aid in the fight. Q transports all of us there and the fight begins immediately. I take the lead of my group (there were already many others fighting) by flying in with my Katana and skillfully slicing up a large demon.

Then my roommate's alarm goes off.

Oddly, I was still able to see and act within the dream even though I was awake. I'm pretty sure we ended up winning.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I get out of bed. Taking in my surroundings. This isn't my dorm room. It's someplace I've never been before. I decide to try out Instant Transmission, selecting The Moon as my target destination. I close my eyes and envision myself disappearing and reappearing on The Moon. No luck, but everything does destabilize a bit. I ground myself and make my way to the front door. I go through it and come out on a porch overlooking a beach; large waves crash down upon the sand less than 100 yards away.

To my left is Master Roshi, sitting in a wooden chair. I ask him if he can teach me IT, but he claims to not know what that is. I figure it's still early in the series and Goku hasn't even learned it himself. I close my eyes and visualize my destination once more. I shout, "Instant Transmission!" My body feels as if it disappeared for a second, but when I opened my eyes all I saw was a huge wave crashing down on the beach. I decide I'll just have some fun in the water instead. I begin my trek down to the beach, I jump down the stairs.

And then my suitemate is a douche and wakes me and my roommate up.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I float out of my bed. Rising up to the ceiling. Well, that was odd, I thought. Normally I don't fly right off the starting line. I didn't pay it much mind, though. Just to make sure I could mess with things, I grabbed a puzzle off the wall and threw it onto my roommate's bed, where he was still sleeping. Satisfied I made my way out into the hallway, where it was just as dark as it was in our room. As I flew down the hall I noticed a window at the end of it. Oh, look, I mused as a figure in a red hoodie came in front of the window, CBK is able to fly or something. We were on the fourth floor.

I fly up to the window and phase through it, something that comes naturally to me now. It is CBK, but we're in a parking lot. "Oh, C---, your dream car is, in actuallity, the Batmobile!" Indeed, before me was a Batmobile that belonged to CBK. "You should show me around your dream house like we talked about before."

"Umm, how about not?" He was with friends and seemed busy. I decided to leave him alone. Now, what should I do? I know I'll--

And then my suitemate is a douche and wakes me and my roommate up.

      Fun With Portal Guns (DILD)
      ★★☆☆☆
      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

The first one was a DILD from a FA that I had after a failed WILD. I phased through the window flew around the building and decided I would work on methods of transportation. Now on a sandy area, I reach behind my back and whip out a portal gun. I point it at the ground and fire. A portal opens, to what I hope would be the moon, but I don't know for sure. I have my doubts that it will be, so I look up, locate the moon, and fire the portal gun at it. I fired the wrong portal, so I had to recreate the first portal by firing at the ground again. I jumped through it, but as I did the dream faded away.

Fun With Portal Guns, Take Two (DILD)
      ★★★☆☆
      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

Another DILD off a FA. Instead of phasing through the window and flying down, I decided to take the front door out. I jump down the stairs in one leap. It's all very vivid and indistinguishable from waking life. Attempt number two. I take out the portal gun and fire it at the ground. I fire a bunch of shots at the moon hoping at least one will hit. I watch the portal in front of me for any change. When it does, I jump through it. I end up in a gray landscape with sandy dunes and a deep dark blue sky. I recognize it as Hueco Mundo, which is not where I want to be. I jump back through the portal, to earth. This portal gun thing was simply not working as intended. I threw it aside and shot up into the air. Good 'ol flight. That would work. Unfortunately, as I started to leave the atmosphere, the dream ended.

      Lunar Exploration (WILD)
      ★★☆☆☆
      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

This one was a partially accidental VILD in which I was able to force myself onto the moon. Everything was pretty unstable, but I managed to locate Nomad's tower after a little while of flying. It was a huge, round, black tower; the only entrance I could see was located 3/4ths of the way up the tower. It was covered in a white light. I flew through it no problem, but the tower seemed to be completely empty and hollow. The only odd thing was that the light was present throughout the entire inside of the tower. It greatly obscured my vision, causing me to lose focus on my surroundings and the dream to subsequently end.

      Truce With Myself (DILD)
      ★☆☆☆☆
      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

A FA occurs in which i sorta kinda become lucid. I realize I'm dreaming and have an interesting conversation with a DC, who represented a part of myself, as to why I fail so hard. This conversation occurs after escaping a boat I had capsized (via Flight) because I thought flipping it over a few times with mah TK would get me to the moon. After calling a truce and accepting his challenge to play him/me on all the world's ping pong tables, I got even more distracted and had to get this weird stuff out of my teeth. It seemed like nerds on a string, or something like that. And the string was caught up in my gums, and around teeth, and the nerds were stuck behind teeth and in molars.

      Lessons Learned:

So, what did I learn from these dreams? The moon is not a well developed archetype for me. Portal guns can only do so much. I can only fly so high. Either that was the real tower, and the defense system was just really freaking clever, or my subconscious is really freaking clever. I need to look into Instant Transmission.

    9. Seeking to Recognize and Know the Dream

      by , 01-01-2002 at 07:01 AM
Morning of January 1, 2002. Tuesday.

      Dream #: 12,797-05. Reading time: 48 sec.

I am in the northeast corner of the Cubitis living room listening to records on a gramophone of surreal appearance. The scene does not trigger any sense of wrongness. I see it as “mine.”

I am later looking at a map of the Aleutian Islands, though I am unsure of what I am doing. I know what I am looking at has significance. The region is incorrectly above the northwest area of Australia, though I do not see it as incorrect. The world does not have much land. Most of the eastern hemisphere seems mainly small islands. (The scenario has occurred in other dreams.)

While outside, I see an unusual light in the sky. It is eventually clearer. It is a piece of the moon, shaped like a jigsaw puzzle piece. It is returning to the moon like a “spaceship.” I see cracks on the moon’s surface that define the shapes of standard jigsaw puzzle pieces. There is a sense of both peace and puzzlement.

The main dream state indicator was “The Aleutian Islands,” “Aleutian” sounding somewhat like “illusion” (as a dream state reference). Jigsaw puzzle patterns occur when a dream causes puzzlement in ambiguous liminal space between dreaming and waking.

    10. When the Moon is in the Seventh House… (Personal Version)

      by , 02-04-1972 at 08:04 AM
Morning of February 4, 1972. Friday. (Original version, fully explained.)

Message: “Let the sunshine in” / “Wake up and enjoy the day and don’t dawdle in the dream state even if you can fly while sleeping”

My dream starts out with a partial focus on last Sunday’s total lunar eclipse of January 30, 1972. I am firstly outside in the front yard in Cubitis, but as my dream ends, it seems like I teleport into the southwest bedroom. (I am also not as aware of my physical body as in other dreams.)

Prior to my dream’s sudden outdoors to indoors scene shift, the moon, which is in the northwest area of the sky (the same location the sun was in my dream “The Day There Was No Sun”), becomes sort of dark. I am not sure if there is going to be another eclipse or not. Eventually, the moon somehow seems to become a giant crow or blackbird.

This giant crow crashes through our roof, directly into our large sliding-door closet in the southwest bedroom (where my school clothes are kept in real life). The giant crow has somewhat of a cartoon-like appearance. He seems to have an expression of puzzlement and frustration and I get the vague impression he is now “too fat to fly” as relating to the “moon being full”. He fills our entire closet with his bulky body, which is several times the area and volume of our hall closet. I am aware that this event means “when the moon is in the seventh house”, seemingly meant to mean that our house is the seventh from an implied starting point, though I am also aware it is the first line from the song “Age of Aquarius” (which ends with “let the sunshine in” continuously repeating).

The moon represents the dream state (as well as circadian rhythms in relationship to night and sleeping) and the link to the unconscious self. It flies but “falls” and becomes a part of my day to day waking reality by reminding me I have to get up and go to the closet to get dressed for school.

The “silly” giant crow is a projection of my dream self as simultaneously both an upsized and downgraded flight symbol (flight being the dream itself, the fall being the natural waking mechanism), cartoon-like to represent the "unreal” nature of some dream types and giant because of trying to focus more on my dream, frustrated and puzzled because my dream is over (waking transition).

    11. Wed-Nez-Day

      by , 04-07-1971 at 10:43 AM
Morning of April 7, 1971. Wednesday.

In real life I had shown a young female teacher, after class, my “How and Why Wonder Book of the Moon”. When she asked “Can I have this?” I thought she meant that she wanted to borrow it for a short time for another class so I said “yes”. Unfortunately, I never saw the book again (so I guess she thought it was a gift). I did not ask her about it and I did not tell either of my parents about the event. (I did have most of the “How and Why Wonder Books” of the time period). I was not angry. I just felt rather strange about the situation. I thought perhaps that I would get it back at the end of the school year but did not. I was always quite passive in the presence of public authority, not because I liked, “appreciated”, or trusted authority in any way - in fact, it was the opposite and I was passive because I saw most such people as unpredictable, unintelligent, and unaware (and likely dangerous at the drop of a hat) except for perhaps a few teachers during my school years, but even then, I strongly sensed their shortcomings and overall incompetence given the circumstances, which often frustrated me but I remained quiet.

During this time, I thought of the book being returned on “Moon Day”. I had “worked out” that this was the day relating to the moon and had a false memory that the moon was always full on a Monday.

The main in-dream theme that recurred here for a few weeks was the idea that people only got married on Wednesdays. It became “Wedding Day”, the “long form” of “Wed Day”. In reality, I never did learn how to “mentally say” Wednesday. If I do attempt to actually think of Wednesday as Wednesday, it comes out wrong due to the bizarre and atypical spelling of the word. This stems from earlier years where I never once said (mentally) anything other than WED NEZ DAY. This is why I so quickly learned to spell it (even over incorrectly spelling “what” as “hwat”, “when” as “hwen”, and so on when four years old). To this day, I mentally think “Wed nez day” when I want to write it, knowing the “z” is actually an “s” and then write Wednesday…I wonder if other people do this.
    12. A Trip to the Moon

      by , 03-27-1971 at 03:07 PM
Morning of March 27, 1971. Saturday.

A large unknown family (with at least a son and a daughter both around my age) and a lot of items (too many, it seems, as the car seems too weighted down at times) mostly tied over the roof of their pale green station wagon, makes a wrong turn near our house in Cubitis (heading south) and they end up going through our neighbor’s orange grove and then everything (including my home) is somehow on the moon. However, my “home on the moon” is a bit different, though still seems a partial duplicate of my home on Earth. There are no lunar surface features on the in-dream moon except those featured on a small framed picture hanging from the wall in the room with the gorilla later on.

There is a giant earwig under a large tarpaulin near the entrance to the shed, though the shed seems in a different area of the backyard. It looks out from underneath but does not come out. Its yellow eyes, which are glowing, are the only thing visible in the darkness under the tarpaulin. The appearance and nature of the eyes is actually much like a scene from “Gay Purr-ee” (but with cat’s eyes in the movie scene), thus it is not at all like the eyes of an insect (though which I illogically reason is as such because of its giant size). I believe it came from the scene where the eyes (from the “Money Cat” scenes) are glowing from a storm drain (or at least from a chimney scene if the storm drain idea is a false memory).

The family walks around, not knowing they are actually on the moon, it seems. They appear to be looking for a hotel or motel on their itinerary.

A tiny flat plastic figure of a monochrome red “Martian” (I had in real life; a toy figure from a box of cereal, Quisp, I think) moves about as if alive, somewhat insect-like at first, but it is soon actually “full size” in my dream (about two-thirds as tall as I am). However, it later seems to be revealed only as a stage prop, where a couple (unknown) men are pushing it along on small wheels. There is also a vague impression that it is part of a carnival duck shoot.

I climb up a ladder and look through a glass transom above a locked door, similar to the Rose Street apartment area (but more like a place I lived in years later on King Street). A large gorilla is sleeping on his back on a couch with a Cracked Magazine open over his chest. A longer series of the letter “Z” (of about three different sizes) is actually floating over his head, moving from right to left. For a short time, I also see a floating animated image of a hand saw sawing a small log. He soon wakes and seems annoyed by the noise as well as the sawdust falling on him from his own comic-strip-like sleep balloon. I am not sure if it is a real gorilla seen as is or a gorilla in a costume (odd reasoning). He is aware that other people are trespassing in his home, so we (the family and I) leave the area. We are not threatened or seemingly that endangered and do not see the gorilla again.

Eventually, we come back to Earth in the car just by driving around the “cow pasture” on the moon (“twin” to the real one, beyond the back of my home). The family never seemed to know or acknowledge that they were actually on the moon, just commenting on some strange areas near my home. They do not believe me when I tell them we had been on the moon, so I show them around and show how things are different (for example, no large gorilla on a couch). They probably are not convinced.
