    1. Horses and the Barn Hotel

      My family and I were going on some sort of road trip, and it was in the afternoon. The first thing I recall about this dream is that we were pulled over to the side of a long highway with no other cars in sight. There was, however, a farm-like setting along the side of the road. There was a tall white wooden fence surrounding the massive property our van was parked in front of, as well as a couple different barns inside the property. They had the average wooden walls with red and white colors, but flat roofs instead of the rounded ones, which were also made of wood. I could infer this without actually seeing the roofs.

      I didn't look back at the van, but my mother, sister, and I simply walked a few feet and got to the farm property. The stakes in the white fence were extremely far apart, so it was easy to enter. There was an upside down L-shaped post with a hanging wooden sign, painted yellow. It read "welcome" in white letters. When we passed the sign, there was a sharp turn to the left, and a narrow path leading directly into a very large barn. On either side of us was the same type of fence, wide stakes, except it was the height of my waist now.

      We passed a few people on the other side of the fence; one was a girl wearing a cowboy hat, and she was probably around twelve years old. She was also holding a small horse under her arm, as if carrying a pillow. The horse's legs were pretty short, and it probably weighed only seven or eight pounds.

      We arrived at the large barn. The tall rectangular-shaped door was open, so we walked inside. It was big inside; I'd estimate it was at least one hundred feet long and at least fifty feet wide. At the entrance that we came in, along both sides of the barn were stalls; inside them stood horses. I saw hay piled in a few of them as we walked down the barn, and once we got around halfway there were no more stalls against the walls. At the end of the barn, there were three square-shaped holes in the top of the wall, around four by four feet. There were long rectangular planks of wood, placed parallel to each other, going upwards to make stairs.

      That was where we'd be sleeping tonight, and I knew it was getting dark. I was the last person to crawl up the stairs and into the small attic-like room. It was tiny, probably half the size of a kid's bedroom. There was one king-sized mattress on the floor in there, and there was only a bit of actual floorspace left to put our belongings. "I'm not sleeping in here if this is how small a room it is," I whined.

    2. A Muddy Road Strewn with Corn Nuts

      Notes:
      I dug up this entry from a slightly older dream journal.

      It's daytime, probably as light as it could be, and I'm standing on a muddy road with my mother, because our car had broken down and we'd been walking for a few hours. This, I knew even though it didn't actually happen in the dream. On either side of the road were fields with wheat, barley, and anything else that would grow in the middle of nowhere. There were no trees, no houses, and no farming equipment.

      My mom sat down in the mud; I could hear it sloshing in her jeans and shoes. I decided to look ahead and walk some more, and as I walked, I discovered wrappers of corn nuts. The packages were metallic, shiny, and in colors of evergreen, pink, and red. Most of them were empty, but as I bent down, I realized a few of them still had some left. The packages crumpled as I looked inside them for leftover.


      I ate them ravenously. They were very crunchy, almost like hard candy, but I ended up swallowing them like pills, not feeling them go down my throat. I also saw a sky-blue twizzlers package, but I left it there.

    3. Starcraft and webcam with G, long winding road

      PART 1 - PLAYING SC2 WITH G

      Playing my friend G in Starcraft 2. They don't actually play IRL. This part won't make any sense to anyone who doesn't play...

      I was Zerg at some points and Protoss at others... it's one of those weird dream effects where both are sort of true at the same time.

      I expand twice with no army, they attack before I can make one and win.

      We have a rematch, this time I'm careful not to over-extend myself, I make a bunch of Photon Cannons. We don't get to finish the game for some reason, it ends before any real battles happen.

      ANALYSIS

      The thing that stands out most to me is the symbolism of proactive/reactive, or offensive/defensive.

      I would say I tend to act in a reactive way around this friend. Perhaps the game was a metaphor for this.

      PART 2 - WEBCAM WITH G

      Next, G turns on a webcam. It's starting to get late. They are in some sort of party environment... loud music in the background.

      At one point this music production guy that G is working with (in the dream) comes on cam. Short hair, black t-shirt, mid 30s, quite buff. Don't remember anything he says.

      ANALYSIS

      This seems to relate to the fact that IRL G "has things going on" in their life, while I'm still at a point of preparing for the future, without much of note happening in mine.

      PART 3 - WRONG TURN DOWN A LONG, WINDING ROAD

      Now, it's dark. I leave the house, presumably where the above scenarios took place. I'm riding a bike, presumably headed "home" (wherever that is in this particular dream world.)

      I take a long turn down a long, winding, isolated, spooky road. It goes on as far as I can see. There are bushes on either side. Once, maybe twice, an old guy (60+) passes me going the opposite direction in a car. I'm singing to myself out loud about how I don't want to get attacked.

      At some point I realize I'm going the wrong way and turn around, right at a sharp U turn in the road.

      As I do, a lanky older guy (40+) with glasses, narrow face and messy brown hair, possibly wearing a trench coat (or I may just be adding that retrospectively) starts following me. I stop and tell him to wait in place for a bit until I'm farther ahead, he does so. I have a rectangular knife for protection but don't have to use it.

      ANALYSIS

      I'm constantly thinking about what paths to take in life, planning my future, repetitively reevaluating the conclusions I come to. When I come to a conclusion I often jump "all in"; but often, I change my mind and jump back "all out." All or nothing.

      On a symbolic level the first thing that comes to mind is that I almost decided to spend the next year hardcore studying online poker, but decided against it after hearing even the best can often go upwards of a full year with little winnings on a downswing.

      Could have been a lot of time and effort spent in a less than optimal way, may also explain the sense of risk.

    4. Log 26 Medal of Honor, towel, and riot of people

      Dream starts off with me playing a new game. It looks like battlefield, but plays differently, so I assumed it is the new Medal of honor game coming out some time.

      In real life, I hate FPS' that don't allow you to go prone on the ground, so I was surprised when the developers of battlefield made it so you could go prone.

      "When did they change their mind about the prone?" I asked a neighbor.

      "Just before release."

      From what I remember, the game was a blast. To think, my brain made it all up, lol.

      I am walking home alone in the dark, it is pouring rain and is dark out. For some reason I have absolutely no clothes on except for a towel as well.

      The way home is a road back at my old home, and I pass my high school on the way. Suddenly, I stop by a run down house that has things broken and scattered everywhere.

      I am in the middle of a road with other people. Someone who was in the middle of the road with me grabbed a bulldozer near by and folded the road into a giant wall. I asked why, and the others with me told me that "they were coming."

      Sure enough, a riot broke out in the woods behind us, with thousands of people running towards us. Dream gets a bit hazy after that.
    5. The Train and...

      Dream 1 - The Train

      I was on a train. You know, one of those passenger trains with the multiple cars. It was very cozy yet airy inside, and there were maroon leather seats on either side of the car I was in, almost like a luxury bus. There were also round tables covered with white tablecloths near the back of the car. It had very large windows so people could look outside; these windows made up nearly the entire sides of the car.

      I became lucid almost immediately. I exclaimed out loud and did a little dance because I hadn't been lucid in a few days, and immediately decided to do something (although I wasn't sure what yet). I wanted to exit the train but I knew it was moving, pretty fast too, but I didn't want to go all the way to the conductor and ask them to stop it manually. That would have been silly. So, I punched a large hole in one of the windows (no one was around to witness it) and looked outside for the first time. The train was not on a track, but in the middle of traffic, moving along smoothly with the other cars. There wasn't much traffic though, so I jumped out, landing on my feet in the middle of traffic.

      I looked down the lane and saw a forest-green colored car zooming towards me at around sixty miles an hour, so I leaped on top of it, causing a large dent and feeling the top of the car implode. The car stopped abruptly, as soon as I touched it, but I didn't get thrown off. I then jumped off the car and onto the sidewalk. I tried to do the second jump stylishly but I failed miserably. I had to balance myself a bit, and almost felt pain as my feet contacted the cement sidewalk. I walked it off.

      I spent the rest of the dream flying around because that's one of my favourite things to do.



      Dream 2 - "Why'd you do that?!"

      As soon as the train dream ended, I found myself in my bedroom, all tucked into bed. My room was situated downstairs; I was in a queen bed with mint green covers, a polished dark brown nightstand beside it, and an oak artist's desk in the other corner of my room.

      I was suspicious of this, though, because something felt wierd. I got up a bit, still covered in blankets, and looked at my alarm clock. The first time I looked, it said 1:00. Nothing strange at all. However, I looked back and forth a few more times, because sometimes in dreams my clock tricks me. Caught it.

      The next sequence of numbers was 2:00, 3:00, and then 4:04. I immediately got up and said, "a second lucid dream!?"

      By now I was pretty excited but I knew better than to go around destabilizing the dream. I went out through the door to my room and ran upstairs, towards the front door to get out of the house. Through the window next to the door, between the blinds, I saw that it was dark. But I knew, through expectation, that I could make it light outside. Before disregarding the window, I looked at the door and expected it to be light outside. I turned the doorknob and it was light. Perfect.

      I walked down the driveway and was about to fly away.


      Then my mother woke me up, and I was back in bed. I was sure I was awake, so I asked, "why did you do that? I was in the middle of a lucid dream." A few moments later, I woke up for real.

    6. First Lucid Dream

      As of right now I am on vacation, very far from home. I had woken up at about 4:00 A.M. After realizing that I am totally awake I listen to music for a little while and go to the bathroom. I'm chilling out there for a little while - about an hour. So now it's a little after 5:00 A.M. and I lay back down because I am slightly tired...

      Now I close my eyes, and soon I get these visions. I saw my mom in a hall way that was non-existant in real life and she told me she is here on vacation with me now. My mom was about a 7 hour drive away, and I know that she wasn't coming. The extra hallway and the fact that it was 5:00 in the morning made me realize that those "visions" weren't real. In this dream state I also tried looking at my phone, but my eyes were stuck shut and extremely hard to open. My concious mind was still there though. I knew this was my chance. I relaxed and let it take me to some place. In almost no time I saw a forest take place in front of me. I look to my right and I'm moving in exess of 100mph+ down a road, just hovering above it. There was no wind resistance and it felt like room temperature. I then noticed that there was a forest on both sides of the road and the road seemed to go on to infinity. Looking back to my left, I drifted to the right side of the road, and I was now moving on a 45 degree angle in to the woods. Normally I would have paniced because going backwards, and blindly into a forest at that speed you would be guarenteed to hit a tree. I knew it was only a dream, so I remained calm. The hovering stopped and I landed firmly on both feet. I could now jump very high and fly, but I noticed the higher I got, the more my testicles hurt. Yeah, my testicles. I thought I was laying down in a bad position and forced myself to wake up. It was hard though, it took at good 10-15 seconds to leave the dream. And that was it.

    7. The Police

      This dream was pretty epic; in my opinion, it stretched the boundaries of what I can produce of my dreams.

      It began at my school. But before I go any further, I'll describe what it looks like first. The main section of the school, right when you walk in, consists of a large, long atrium with a triangular glass roof, which allows for much light to enter the school, making it fairly airy and bright. Classrooms are on the left and right of this atrium, and near the entrance there's a large set of stairs on the right, just before the classrooms begin. The main tones in the building include light beige, light eggshell blue tiles, and accents of paler turquoise, such as on the window frames and stair handles. Although I cannot recall exactly how similar the school in my dream looked compared to real life, I know it was in fact similar in some ways. It gave off the same vibe as the actual thing.

      I was in the first classroom to the left of the atrium; the room was around twenty two feet wide by twenty seven feet long. There were no desks, but there was a normal, burgundy school chair in the far corner of the room. Two of my friends were there with me; a blonde girl and a brunette, both slightly taller than I. My friends near always appear the same in my dreams, as I've been going to school with them since grade one. The blonde girl even had her glasses on, which made them even more similar. It was almost time to be dismissed, so I suppose it was nearly 3:30. Even though school was in still, we were the only people there. Perhaps the dream didn't want to use up energy, trying to fill up all the space in the school? Anyhow, this caused me to become lucid.

      Ied summon my mother at the front of the school, in her car, to pick the three of us up. Instead of being in a silver minivan like she should have had, she was in a sleek black car, designed a bit like an Infiniti. It looked realistic though, and didn't have any 'dream' distortion or features. I got in the back seat, behind the driver's seat; the blonde girl sat beside me, and the brunette got in the front beside my mother. We started driving.

      The dream skipped from this part to a new one, and now we were on a strip of road with a few business/city buildings, and there were sidewalks to either side of us. The road seemed to be a 4-lane road: it was fairly wide, but there were no parked cars. No cars except us, other than the occasional passerby. However even with this skip, I was still lucid; this was unusual, since I usually lose lucidity when that occurs. We probably drove for a minute or so, until I heard police sirens in the distance. They were slightly distorted, almost heavier-sounding, but the cars looked the same as they appeared behind us. My mother pulled over to the right side of the road and stopped the van. One police car stopped behind us, and the other behind that one. So all three cars, including us, were now lined up on the side of the road. I looked around and I could somehow 'see' through the van, and look at the two policemen getting out of the first car. The second police car seemed to be still, as if no one was in it.


      One of the men stayed behind the other. The one in front walked to the front window of our van and tapped on it. "M'am, can you step out of the vehicle?" he asked my mother. I totally did not summon that action, or the words. I figured I'd just go along with whatever the dream wanted to do, since I wasn't too lucid at the time.

      Anyways, my mom got out slowly. I could still see through the side of the van. I could also hear what the policeman was saying, as if there was nothing in between him and I, even though the windows were closed, etcetera. He asked her, "are you the one responsible for the murder of William..." I can't remember the last name. It was a fairly strange last name, and so maybe that's why I can't recall it. My mom looked through the window, still as a stone, to where I was sitting in the vehicle. The gaze almost looked questionable. I look down, suddenly getting an idea. And this is where things began to get a little weird.

      My lucidity rising again, I stepped out of the van, opening the silver door on a hinge (when in real life it would have slid open horizontally), and faced the police officer. "Leave her alone," I told him firmly and confidently. "It's my fault. Although it was an accident..." I was still not attempting to control the policeman DC, although I did sort of "expect" him to pull out a gun and shoot me. It happened pretty quickly; he pulled out a handgun from his uniform pocket and shot me. I held my hand out to shield myself, but the bullet went into my palm. I looked at it, imagining blue blood coming out, and this happened too. There wasn't a lot; it almost looked like I got a blob of navy, almost transparent jelly on my hand. The interesting thing was, that my dreams usually end when I get shot. Perhaps it was because I was able to control what happened after I got shot, that my dream didn't go black.

      By now, I was at a fairly low lucidity level, but I could still think of what to do. I decided to punch the police officer, just on a whim, to see what would happen. I punched him, and he didn't move that much, but he still recoiled. He then pulled out another gun (the first one disappeared) and shot me a few more times, but nothing happened at all. I felt small bullets hitting me on the neck, arms and stomach, but no pain and my dream still didn't fade. I felt extremely confident, and so I told him to hit the road. He backed away slowly, ran back into his car, and drove away.
