    1. Waterbending and Task of the Month (just barely)

      I am in my room, getting ready to go somewhere or do something, I don't know exactly what. For no apparent reason, I think "what if this is a dream?" but decide everything feels far to realistic (As a side note, my dreams are rarely so realistic that I can wonder if it is a dream, and decide that it isn't. 99% of the time, as soon as the thought crosses my mind, I become lucid. Although in this case, the fact that my room was perfectly tidy should have been enough of a clue...) I decide that now is a good time to do a reality check anyway (because I'm still trying to make reality checks enough of a habit that I do them in automatically when dreaming). I look at the doll with two long braids that sits on top of my dresser, close my eyes for a second, and open them again.

      What the hell? The hair is in a different position. That can't be right, I must not have been paying attention.

      Just to test and prove to myself that I am awake, I step into a more open part of the room and jump while thinking about flying, fully expecting gravity to follow normal rules.

      But instead, I float up and hover near the ceiling ("Holy crap...")


      Okay, I guess I am dreaming.

      I remember reading a post about making dream time "longer" than the amount of time I'm actually asleep, and decide to try it.
      (Unfortunately, despite being lucid, I am still not particular logical, and this was something I was not planning on trying until after I'd gained fairly good dream control, which I don't currently have) I first decide to simply demand that the dream lasts for an hour, but I know right away that it hasn't worked, and the dream starts to fade. I stabilize it as much as I can, but it is still "dark" around the edges. I remember a different technique where you "travel" to another dream realm where time is different, and say "I want to go to the realm where one waking minute equals one dream hour."

      Nothing happens, and I'm not sure if I said it right, or if I had even said it out loud at all, so try again. This time, a portal of some sort appears in the wall beside me, and I go through it. As I do this, I hear a rather sinister voice say "Getting a little advanced, are we?"

      I fall backwards through blackness for a few seconds, just like the person who posted the technique had described, and find myself back in my room.

      Hoping that it worked, I remember my goal of learning to "waterbend," and fly through the wall, trying to visualize the beach at my cottage on the other side. But, as I go through the wall, the dream fades, and I wake up.


      I resist the temptation to move, and stay perfectly still once I realize I have woken up, and continue to visualize the beach, as well as imagining that Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender is there to teach me.

      I am suddenly in the dream, with Katara (and sometimes Aang) there. She talks to me a little bit as I try to do waterbending, but I don't remember what she was saying. I'm doing pretty good with the waterbending, getting it to move around the way I want it to.

      Suddenly, for some reason, she becomes evil, and there are people in boats swarming the beach attacking me. And I start attacking back, experimenting with different ways to move the water around, and freezing it to throw little ice darts at some of the attackers. I realize that I can just leave, or ignore the attackers (because they aren't actually doing anything to hurt me) but decide that this is actually kind of fun, and keep at it. For some reason, things start flipping between "cartoon 2D" and "3D," which kind of weirds me out, but then I think "Hey, that's kind of cool," and start doing it on purpose.

      At this point the dream is starting to fade again, and I suddenly remember "Crap, I was going to try the task of the month. I NEED AN INSTRUMENT!"

      Some sort of cross between a flute and a clarinet appears in my hand, and I start playing it while everything continues to fade. For whatever reason, without me choosing to do so, I/the instrument play(s) the classic "snake charming" Arabian music.


      I wake up, and once again try to slip back into a dream right away, but it doesn't work.

    2. Air Violin

      This dream starts with a storm. D, my dad and I were living in a beach house, each with our own bed. I was laying in mine, thinking we were safe when I remembered another nightmare. Just then, the storm worsened and the house started rumbling. The windows were splashed with the ocean's raging waves and the house was being dragged into the ocean. I was terrified at first but I realized that I didn't really live on the beach. I did the nose-pinch and the house stopped shuddering. Drew and my dad disappeared and the ceiling opened up. I took off flying, getting as much distance between me and the house as I could.

      I flew over a city this time and it was night time. The sky was clear now. The whole scene changed on its own. Anyway, I landed from there and I started practicing my double jump. I tried 2 times but I only got 1 good jump in. Afterwards, I took off flying again and decided to try this month's easy task. I wanted to attempt the basic task at Dream Views. I heard violin music and played along, using an invisible air-violin. I tried to keep up with it and, eventually, it was actually producing its own sounds. I've never played a violin IRL. I was flying the entire time.


      Then, I lost my lucidity.

      At one point, though, Drew and I were talking with another person about how much it must suck to be a CoCo's delivery boy since they took canoes to deliver their curry.

      Plus a fragment:

      This was probably a different dream altogether. I was on a ship, below-deck and there were a lot of birds. Their feet were very brittle, sort of like hardened, stiffened paper and their toes and feet broke like chips. I got to handle one and its talons sank into my fingers. I remember the pain from this scene very clearly.

      Later, in this same fragment, someone mishandled a bird (there was a peacock in a cage btw) and it sank its talons into my lower belly, leaving them behind. I pulled out a foot then many, many claws.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      Well, it has been over a month I did not write down dreams. I have been horribly busy and did not focus as much (this proves my delay in getting these ToTM done.)

      This will change soon in the upcoming weeks, but let's go for the dream!

      I was in a big room with a lot of people. I was giving a energy healing to a lady. I did not recognize the place where I was in, as it was a different place where I use to give my energy healings, so I realized I was dreaming. I checked my hands to make sure, the hands looked OK but I still knew I was dreaming. I finished the energy healing, just in case it was an astral being in need of a healing rather that just a Dream Character. When I was done, I took flight and flew through the window.

      It was sunny and I was not in San Diego, but in a different country. I was going to project, but I recalled that I still did not get my ToTM done, so I went for it.

      I started to look for a musical instrument. As I was walking, I saw sticks on the floor. I focused I could play them as if they were flutes, but I felt that it could be a poorly done ToTM, as I needed to find an actual instrument.

      I saw a building that was my hight school. I decided to find the music room, I was sure I could find some instruments there. I was flying towards my school and felt that I could wake up, I did not feel anchored to the dream at all. The school was crowded, so I wanted to do it fast.

      I entered the school and found a lot of random people. I was going to the second floor, hoping I would both remember where the class was
      (it has been 10 years since I was no there) As I was going to the second floor, I saw a kid with a flute. Perfect!!! I took the flute from his hands. While he started to complain, I played it. It sounded exactly like a poorly played flute. I gave the flute back to the DC and left school.

      I knew it was time to go to Where the Wild Things Are. I was not exited at all about this task, but I needed to get it done to not break my eleven month streak.

      I entered a building and saw some dream characters. I had no idea how to get to this place, so I asked for assistance. A dream character told me that if I entered "over there" I could get to it. He was pointing at a small wine refrigerator. I shrunk my self and started to walk inside the refrigerator, but I could not go further the wall. I complain it was not working. I was advised to push the wall so it could move.

      I started to walk by the wall and I started to push it. After a few moments, it started to move until I saw a hole. I went to a room that was all brown. It was like a big maze. I figured if I flew through the maze, I would get to Where the Wild Thing are. I saw a portal at the end of the maze and felt a little bothered, as I could have opened one from the very beginning. I walk through it and I appeared in a place where there was a big black ape with a ring on its nose. I did not read this book so I had no idea what to do, their names or whatever.

      I asked the Ape to be escorted to my palace. The Ape told me, "Your palace?" I agreed. The Ape was confused and I told him, "I am supposed to become your king." The Ape told me that I had to kill the actual king. I told him that was not an issue.

      We arrived to the palace and I saw... King Arthur from the Merlin movie (WTF) He was in his kid's form, and he had his crown next to him, because his head was too small.







      Merlin was not around, which I was happy, as fighting a Magician would be more of an issue. I opened my hand and created a blast. A purple ball with small lighting appeared and launched towards Arthur's. He disintegrated, including the Crown and the Throne. I told the Ape, "So, am I king, right?" He said yes, I was. A few weird monsters appeared from no where and said, "Hail the king!" I figured I succeeded the ToTM and I decided to get out of there.

      I started to fly away from this place when suddenly, I woke up.
    4. The theme is "shared", Killing the king of the wild things (without the wild things)

      13-07-11 I am on a beach and there are someone there that I am supposed to remember. The scenario concerns shared dreaming. I turn lucid at some point though the trigger eludes me and the vividness of the dream isn't great. The person running the show isn't who I expected. A couple of other rookie lucids are there with me as well. They all tell me their names and I find it important to remember them, but they are soon forgotten. Was there a Mark in there, and someone whose name begins with an R (Not supprising considering I readh MoShs shared dreaming thread just before bed). In any case the whole thing is a bit difficult to explain. The beach seems to be this gigantic hub and the leader is passing from one person to another assisting them, either with control or something else.

      When I step in an start directing the show a bit, it is with great respect for the people around me. I say something like.

      “Right, time for dream stabilisation, how do you guys normally do this?”
      There may be some mumbling amongst 3-5 people standing by the waves before the answer is returned.
      “Have you tried spinning?”
      “Think I have done, but not in a while.”

      I start spinning, but not your average spinning. I utilise a technique I have picked up in my non-lucids where I gradually spin with my body more and more parallel to the ground. People either try trampling me or try and jump over me and I become a bit playful and start doing some whirled spinning jumps up amongst the people standing right next to me. I turn around and spin around with my back towards the sand. Though this is fun I don't think I am engaging the scenario enough and I soon wake up.


      I recall only the dream after I turn lucid. I may have been lucid prior, but what is written is what I remember. I know that the dream was long prior to what I remember though. I am in some sort of hall. It reminds me of a mixture of a factory warehouse and a sports hall. I think of what the task of the month is and I remember it is about ”where the wild things are” and becoming their king.

      I don't encounter any wild things to my memory, but I undertake a quest to summon their king and dispose of him. There are three pre-quests I have to fulfil before I can find him. These three quests will grant me three keys I have to use to get the final key. I start the first one but start thinking that I may not have much time left in the dream, so I decide to cheat by flyng up and grabbing the key from a wooden box with a narrow opening in it. My flying isn't really controlable at first but I manage to snatch the key before I start the descent.

      I defy my lack of ability to fly as I head for a risen platform hovering above the floor where the King will spawn. ”I am dreaming I know I can fly!” and this thought makes it possible. There are four boxes on the platform, one at each corner. I put in the key and turn it. There is a mechanical vibration in my hand as I do this and looking out over the floor I can see four elements descending from the ceiling forming a square. I know the king will be in the middle of these. I look around on the other key hole boxes on the platform and wonder why there are keys in all of them, though i reason that if I hadn't cheated I would have had four keys in total.

      After a short while the king makes an appearance, He approach from a gate on the lefthand side and as he makes his way towards the descending things he is ethereal at first. I figure I will have to wait until he takes on coporeal form to attempt an attack on him. At first when he takes on bodily form he is naked and very white, sorta vampyrish, however I am dreaming and have no fear so I jump down flying at great speed towards him. When I arrive he has taken on a bunny suit and is slightly fat. I tell him I challenge him and put up my fists preparing for a boxing round.

      Before the fight starts we are interrupted though by 3-5 people wearing black cloathing, the leader seems to be a woman. I feel slightly frightful and grab the king and take him behind a shelf.

      ”Wasn't I dreaming, I am sure I was dreaming, there is no need to hide” I think to myself.

      I look at my hand and as I do a couple of extra fingers start growing so I am reassured and take the king and walk over to the people. I also know that I can't really hurt anyone so I talk to the woman and tells her to grab hold of the kings legs.

      I grab his head and rip it clean off and I am somewhat relieved that it makes the sound of clothing being ripped as this happens. He was only stuffed afterall.

      I start walking towards the gate the king appeared from and think to myself. ”Damn, you got that ”where the wild things are” story completely screwed up, this probably won't count anyways”. ”Ah well it was mildy enjoyable in any case”. After this I wake up.


      I am in a room and a handful of attractive women are there and I am talking to Kaiser about Caroline Loven. I tell him that I have been with her 4 times. I am going through the excersise starting at 5 trying out 3, but decide on 4 (the actual number is 2). I am unsure as to how the conversation arose, but think we were discussing attractive women we had been with.

      I look outside the window and am surprised to see a large red building move towards my left away from me. I think it a bit weird, but quickly someone tell me that TV2 is going to get their asses handed to them for this as apparently they are to blame. I recall the television show and don't find it particularly weird (Would have hated myself for missing this, if it wasn't for the fact that I had already had one lucid that night ^^).
    5. Piano and Schools Mix up.

      Once again, 2 parts to this dream. It was REALLY VIVID!

      Part one: I was walking with my friend to a piano concert where I would be playing a song called "Bah Ba Doo Bah" (You can find it on Youtube!) My friend called Jenny said she was only coming for my bit in the concert as she did not really seem interested in piano. I remember having my school bag with Jenny's sketchbook in! Anyways, it was my turn on the piano but Jenny had to go lol! She went to her dance class or something like that and I was left with my dad and stupid brother. *TOPIC OF THE MONTH ENTRY* I went and sat down at the piano then I did lots of hand warm ups (eg. flexing my fingers ) until everyone got bored then I began. I was pressing the notes but nothing came out. In the middle, the notes came out but they were the opposite in pitch (eg. highest note became lowest note.) In the end bit there was once again no sound. Well, for me there was no sound but everyone else was singing along even though they had never heard the tune before! At the end everyone stood up and clapped! I then saw Jenny and the dream went.

      Part two: I think my brain is confused, I was at my old school but my old teacher was my teacher from this year if that makes sense! It was really weird, there were only 4 pupils in the class and I was the best behaved. My teacher (Mrs Clegg, she is the nicest, funniest teacher I have EVER known) was crying because we were leaving and I hugged her then told her she is my teacher for next year too so calm down. I walked into the classroom but most of it was taken up by a massive SINGLE bed! (I know, how is that possible?) It was so obvious that I was dreaming but I STILL didn't notice. I went and slept in the bed (Well, I kinda just lied down with my eyes open) which turned out to be Mrs. Clegg's. She then said she doesn't want to wipe away my germs from the bed. Another boy pupil asked why so she said "I want to keep as much memory's of pupils as I can!" She then showed me a button on the duvet that had writing on it. It started with "No" and I think it was "Nos" or "Nosh" but I don't know. Anyway, the button was for cleaning germs off the bed. She said to make sure I don't press it. I lied in the bed but the boy came and tried to press it. I was telling him to get off and kicked his hand off! The dream ended at some point there.

      Non-lucid part:
      I was with my family near some green-/insect-house of sorts. Plantation had grown everywhere. We looked at a wall to see this enormous green parasite worm looking thing. We stood and talked about how amazing it was when it started moving out of the wall, digging into the ground and attacking us. It's tail was in the soil, it's head was in the soil, and then it body-slammed and killed my brother.


      Lucid part:
      I fled into the insecthouse and that's when I realised - I must be dreaming. I did a reality check and felt I was waking up. Instead I focused my vision hard and saw that I was in a large storage-ish room with a thin metal rail as a fence in front of me and a pillar going down in the middle of the room. I saw a black figure walk past me and disappear as he went out of my field of view to the left. This scared me as it reminded me of that LSD game, and I didn't want this to be a nightmare.
      I jumped over the fence and sprinted towards the other end of the room. I jumped headfirst into the wall and now found myself in a room like the first, but the distance to the other end was only 2 meters. I jumped into the next wall and found myself in the same room. Repeat the same room around 4 times more, until I had decided where I wanted to be. I was now in the eye of Saturn. I had remembered the last month's challenge here from DreamViews (didn't remember this month's challenge though).
      I found myself in a military base on Saturn. It didn't consist of much but a couple of fences and tents. I saw no people at all. There was no wind either. I figured we were in the eye of the storm. You couldn't hear anything but a constant roar of distant wind. The heaven was black and you could see the stars. The sun was shining brighter but you could look directly at it. The air was very easy to breathe in, nothing different from a normal place on earth.
      I wanted to go visit the moon, so I thought of the moon and ran heads-first into a wall. I went straight through it just like the first time, but I was not on the moon. I was at the shore of a big city which reminded me of my hometown Ebeltoft, except it was much larger and futuristic. It was night and the only light you could see came from the moon (close enough)! I looked at the ocean. The water was acting extremely weird, as if it was being sucked out by some beam from the moon. I looked at the moon and tried to do the pull like Bruce the Almighty, as if I had a rope. The invisible rope was tough to pull in, but it didn't affect the moon. I then tried to simply 'teleport' it closer with my mind. It worked! The small moon dissolved and appeared as 4 times that big. I looked back at the ocean. It now consisted of rock-hard shattered crystals.
      I walked onto the crystals. The whole ocean was crystals, even beneath the surface, so they didn't move at all. With my mind, I tried removing the crystals, but I regretted that as they turned back into ocean and I fell in the ice-cold water. I levitated (yes! levitated) myself out of the water and turned the ocean back into crystals.

      I felt myself waking up, and simply let go as it was probably late anyways. I woke up and the clock was 1 PM.

      There were a tonnes of more stuff happening but I simply don't remember it because so many different things were going on.
      For example I remember looking at a large clock to see what the clock was. It said 11:48. I don't remember in which association or what part of the dream I looked at it though, all I remember is looking at the clock.
      I also remember I wanted to see what happened if I tried to convince a dream character that he doesn't exist. I couldn't find anyone so I spawned one, just to tell him he doesn't exist (lol). He started cursing and swearing at me like mad. "F**K YOU YOU LITTLE F**KING A**HOLE WHAT THE F**K IS THE MATTER WITH YOU SERIOUSLY YOU -insert more swear words here-". He went on like that until I walked away.

      During the whole lucid part, I met no people at all except for the black figure and the spawned dream character.

    7. Task Of the Month July 2011-Completed! 7/8/11

      I've been taking a lot of breaks from Dreamviews lately and I decided to finally start my journal on here and get back into it! Since I have left I have suddenly had A LOT of luck in lucid dreaming and love it! I read the TOTM Earlier today and I decided to nap and give it a try!
      Anyway here is my TOTM DJ:



      It was nightime and the stars were illuminating the sky. Millions of little magical sparkles. I could hear cars in the distance. I look down and found I was standing on top of a skyscraper in a HUGE city. I was memorized by the beauty of the city. I always had loved cities. I looked down at a taxi driving across the busy road. Every time the Taxi hit a tiny bump the taxi grew in size. Suddenly I asked myself How I got to this roof and I realized I was dreaming! Everything sort of flickered. The lights all went off for a second and everything came back clearer then it was before. I was lucid! I was going to float down from the rooftop into the street but then I remembered the TOTM that I had just read earlier today! I remembered the play an instrument one but I couldnt remember the advanced task. I decided to stay on the city rooftop and play it while looking down at the beautiful city. I assumed a box would be on the roof with an instrument in it and when I looked around I saw one! I went over to examine it and wanted the instrument to be a flute. I opened the box and was surprised to find a trombone! I took it out and held it in my hand. It seemed really big. I put my mouth to the mouthpiece and thought about synesthesia which is the mixing of senses. I have a form of it where when I see objects move I hear a small sound, but there are many different forms of it. There's one form where when you hear sound you can see color. I decided I would try that in my dream. I blew the first note and a beautiful sound that I cant explain escaped. The city froze and a ripple of purple appeared in front of me. All of a sudden I was floating and moving slowly. I kept playing random beautiful notes and more and more colors rippled around me. I was close enough to the ground now I could see people staring up at me with a shocked expression on their faces. They stared at me in amazement. I smiled and waved at them. For a moment I even forgot I was dreaming. I was just focused on all the colors. I decided to land on the street and give the trombone to someone random. They smiled at me like they needed that trombone to survive. I sat down on a city bench and tried to remember what the advanced task was...I remembered it has something to do with a movie and....OH MY GOSH! Where the Wild things are! I was so excited I remembered the dream started fading away. But I managed to grasp onto it. Everything was little blurrier but I didn't mind as long I was still in the dream. How long had I been napping? Surely 20 minutes had passed maybe longer. The dream would end soon!



      I hurried through the first door I saw and I came out in a forest. It was a lively forest with animals everywhere. I turned around and saw an owl staring down at me. I smiled at it. I had never seen the movie or even remembered the book so I had no idea what the story was about except a kid with a crown with buffalo-like friends. Suddenly I heard stomping in the forest and all the animals scattered. A HUGE wild thing came out of the bushes. It was bigger then I thought it would be! I looked up at it and touched it's finger. "I am in control of your species now." I said. It nodded and stared at me with wide green eyes. I told it to go get its friends when all of a sudden I woke up.


      I was amazed that I actually completed the tasks the day that I read about them! The dream felt really unreal and I would love to go back to that city again. Thanks Ninja for such a great TOTM! I am off to a GREAT start in coming back to DreamViews.

    8. Elastic burst effects, Maelstroms, black holes - Chasing devil people with my bass (ToTM Basic)

      07-07-11 Lucid: I don't quite remember how I turn lucid, but I am outside and it is misty and raining. I start out wanting to take off in flight, but I quickly realise that the detail isn't all that great so I decide to spend quite some time stabilising. I do this by engaging all the senses and verbally commanding it. There is a wall covered with a bronze layer on lop and I run my hand over it. I feel the water and cool sensation of touching metal in the rain, it is a somewhat grainy texture as well as if sand has been lying on top of it. I keep trying to see past the mist, which produce quite a solid boundary for my area of perception. It does expand a bit, but not a great deal.

      After a while doing this I feel I am anchored well enough in the dream to start exploring. So I do just that. I start out with flying through the rain and I realise I am getting a bit cold. I try to focus on increasing the temperature of the winds hitting my body, which in turn makes me think about how cool it is I am able to simulate that (nothing I haven't done before, just keeps amazing me). After a while of flying around and looking at walls and their details I decide to go up the road to some friends' place. I know they have moved out of that place, but only recently.

      When I arrive I can see through the windows that there are 3 people sitting in there my two friends and a dad to one of them. I walk through the wall and appear in their living room. I look around and see that the flat is empty bar some boxes and the three people sitting in there. I start taking off my shirt, I don't know why I do this as I have no intentions of attempting anything adult with any of them.

      I start talking to them.

      “Yeah so we are in a dream, did you know this?”

      They respond with a period of speechlessness and attempts at smiles.

      “So how does it make you feel that you are just a figment of my imagination?”
      “Ronja I would think that you at least would enjoy this experience” (Yeah ok, my logic is probably starting to mess up a bit here)

      They provide the same response, and I get a strong feeling of guilt. What if there is something to them that in a sense they are real. I don't have any rights to rob them of their existence. This guild and introspective focus is causing the dream to destabilise, I sense it and get periodic flashes of diminished clarity.

      I shout out “Stabilize the dream!” and it gets back on track, but I can feel it is a wobbly ground I have entered (metaphorically). So I spontaneously start jumping around, I realise a bit later that this is actually a good way of stabilising the dream (can't actually remember if it is or not, but it works). I shout out “Increase vividness!” and to my delight I notice that the ground now has multiple little light reflections in the watery areas of the pavement I am walking. “Ooooohhh that's nice” I smilingly proclaim to myself, I enjoy that a lot.

      Sooo what to do? I now get reminded of the ToTM and also my idea of chasing down the devil and killing him with the sound of my bass. Yeah that's a splendid idea. I take off in the opposite direction of my flat and I turn around mid air continuing flying backwards. Here I start imagining that I am tightening an invisible elastic string that will send me off fast towards my flat when I let go. This effect does happen, though not as powerful (don't get me wrong I am picking up A LOT of speed) as I would have thought. I decide to take a quick detour by flying upwards and as altitude increases I notice the ocean. It is beautiful with the large steady waves and a sunset in the background. As I am up there the final light of the sun disappears.

      I decide to fly down towards it and continue out over the water. And although I am cold I decide to fly down so I am skimming the surface. I can clearly feel the water against my torso, but there is no obstruction to my flight from the water. After a short while I look out over the horizon and it is starting to bend upwards in the sides (The opposite direction to how it would normally look considering the earth is round). Straight ahead of me I sense a big (BIG!) maelstrom and although the temptation of looking at it close makes me fly just that little closer to the edge, I decide it isn't the right time to investigate that.

      I turn around and am amazed to find that the vortex is making it really difficult for me to fly away (I am not sure if me thinking there could be a black hole in the bottom of it comes before or after I notice I am struggling to fly away). I remind myself that I am lucid and with a quick effort of will the gravity chains break and I am off again. Although I remember being cold I am thinking to myself that it isn't that bad now. Still I try and think of the temperature of the wind against me increasing.

      I fly to my flat and enter from the garden side. I am looking around and can't immediately find my bass. After turning around one more time, with a bit more intention of it being there I realise there are two of them. I start out by picking up the one lying on the bed, but to my surprise it doesn't have a fretboard. I wonder if this will count negatively towards the task as to me at that instance it doesn't really. However, I might miss out on some training so I ditch it and go for the one on the couch, which is pretty much lying in the position it is in real life, although on a different couch.

      I pick it up and I strum the strings. The sound is.. well... bassy and to my annoyance I can't really play any grooves on it. Normally in my dreams I can play some funky grooves, but the lucidity is probably blocking it by giving me access to my waking technical knowledge of the instrument (have had it for 2 months and never touched an instrument before). I do briefly strum the different strings and try the fretboard, but I quickly abandon using the fretboard.

      The sound of the bass is somehow skewed, it is deeper and more encompassing than normal, but at the same time there is a higher pitched ending tone regardless of the strings I play. The sound does reverberate a bit in my dream body, but not the full on flowing through me I had hoped for when thinking about the scenario awake.

      I decide to go and kill some minions. I jump though the window, foot first, bass in hand ready to go murder mobs, bard style! I run across the lawn and I can see a man with red skin on the road outside it. I shout out “Hey! Devil boy!” and start running towards him. I don't actually know if this is the boss I am after, but I believe so at the start. However as he briefly walks towards me and I start strumming the bass he sort off gets knocked out and decide to make a run for it. Now more red skinned humanoids are starting to pursue me, and although I don't kill them with the sound of my bass they do get knocked back. As they come closer from every direction I decide to hit them with the base of my bass (hehe) while strumming a node. This seems to work on some of them, but not all of them (My confidence in the instrument or the lack of it, seems to have carried over in to dreaming state).

      After a while they realise that it is stupid pursuing me and I get time enough to run around the corner to find original devil boy (this is however when I notice there are lots of red skinned people and devil boy might not actually be their leader). The dream is a lot brighter now and they are all standing at a bus stop.

      On my way around the corner I notice my fingers are starting to hurt and my D string is broken. In fact the strings all look like a mess and I get a brief doubt if my waking bass is all-right. Your fingers in waking life to respond to the movements of your dream fingers (not sharp enough here to realise there is no way I could have gotten up and actually picked up the bass).


      I wake up.

      Guitar Task Of The Month (DILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      After a good long WBTB I attempted WILD and didn't do to bad but still lost consciousness right before I fell asleep.

      I woke up and believed that I had failed my WILD attempt. I wondered if I should try again. For some reason I got up and walked out of my room. I realized that that was illogical so I did a reality check and became lucid. I was in the hallway so I walked into the family room. My mom and sister were watching the TV. I thought about how I should spend the dream. I saw the mirror and was tempted to walk through it in an attempt to teleport to my dream guides tower. I decided it would be better if I tried making an energy portal again so I can master teleportation once and for all. Then I remembered the basic task of the month which is to play a musical instrument. I planned on playing my electric guitar. I thought I should do that first because it was a task that I know I could complete.

      I walked back down the hallway toward my room. I was amazed at how much it felt real even if the visuals weren't especially vivid. I could have sworn I was awake before I did a RC. I went into my room and picked up my guitar. It wasn't plugged in but I didn't really need the amp to complete the task. I played the Song of Time from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. One of the notes sounded wrong even though I played it right so I replayed it and it sounded great. Now that I had completed the task I thought I might have some more fun so I plugged in my amp and turned on distortion. I was curious if I could make the notes sound like what ever I wanted them to no mater were I pressed. I hit random frets and imagined a song as I went but it still sounded random. I grew bored and wanted to try teleportation again so I put the guitar down.

      I didn't feel like going to the family room so I stayed in my room which has much less open space. First thing I needed to do was to accumulate the energy to make the portal out of. I held out my hands in front of me and imagined energy flowing through my body, out of my hands and into the space between my hands. I didn't see and aura like I did last time. I kept trying and I noticed that my hands were gradually getting fuzzy. The whole dream seemed to be going out of focus. I was to interested in watching the dream get all fuzzy and forgot to rub my hands before it was to late.

    10. Harmonica and Minor MDP Activities

      Notes:
      This dream was extremely clear, and I completed the basic July ToTM very early, which is awesome. I didn't get to do much regarding the MDP, because I wasn't thinking clearly about how to change the scenery for it.

      It was early in the morning. I was outside, and observed that the sky was slightly darker blue, and I could see yellow and orange tones scattered throughout it, not uniformly gradating from the horizon like the colors would do in real life. For the most part, it wasn't too realistic and looked more like a digital painting. Myself, I was standing on a rather unimportant, low-rise hill (about three feet above ground level); it was exactly like one you'd find along the side of a highway. This hill went along the side of, and curved down toward a fairly small parking lot that was only twenty or so spaces wide, and three or four rows deep. Past this long and rather skinny parking lot was the entrance to an amusement park.

      This entrance had a tan-colored stucco exterior, and was very simple in appearance: merely a large, light gray rectangular slab that was sat upon four square pillars, which were made of tan stucco. Between each pillar was a turnstile. Extending from either side of the entrance was a brick wall, probably only six or seven feet tall, with big, neat square holes filled with clear glass, almost like windows. On the other side, you could see rides. I can't remember what kinds I saw when I walked over to the entrance. I walked in between the second and third pillar, not stopping at the kiosk to my right to purchase a ticket. Instead, I kept walking until I was only four or five feet from the brick wall.

      I looked down at the ground to see a small square hole. The hole went right down into the ground, arcing slightly forward, until it opened up to the ground on the other side. It was strange, because if you were to look down the hole (which was only twelve or thirteen feet, by one foot, by one foot - very tight to get through!) and looked at the gravelly ground, it was lit rather brightly, as if the other side of the fence dropped off to a small cliff, and the ground I was standing on was actually hanging above another area underneath. The hole was lined by thin metal sheets that somewhat smoothed out the insides of it; it almost looked like the inside of an air duct.

      This was the entrance to the park. I knelt down and put my two legs in it; I then used my arms to try and push myself downwards, in a pretty poor attempt to get through. I got a few feet into it, but then stopped at my hips because the thing was just too tight to get my butt through. "This is so freaking stupid," I muttered, and pulled myself out with a bit of effort.

      As I turned around, [B]I became lucid and did a nose-plug RC to confirm the dream state. I could breathe; this time, I noticed the air was relatively cool instead of neutral like it usually is. But it wasn't cold outside at all; I couldn't even feel the temperature! Immediately after finishing the reality check, I remembered to do the July Task of the Month. As I walked through the parking lot and back towards the hill, I resolved to summon a harmonica. I used basic dream control tactics and "knew" that I was wearing a hoodie (taking objects out of pant pockets often don't seem to work for me), and I also imagined the feeling of pushing my hand into the right pocket, and the reluctant stretch of the fabric. I expected a harmonica to be there.

      I could feel the texture of the shirt pocket as I took out a very plain, all-metal harmonica. It was a fairly flat, rectangular piece of steel with slightly rounded corners and a good number of holes on the side, something like 12 or 14 circular ones. The surface was pretty scratched-up, like how the steel back of an older ipod has those light, shallow scratches. I put it up to my mouth and breathed lightly into it, listening to the sound I generated. The tune was simply four notes blended together nicely. Low tone, medium tone, low, low, and then high. It didn't quite have the harsh sound of a harmonica, but the sound was softer and almost echoed.

      "Yeah!" I said excitedly, trying to keep myself from getting too excited. Then, I stopped at the foot of the hill and decided to try and continue the MDP, but then thought better of it. I was nowhere near the location I needed, and my dream-self didn't remember that I could just open a door or fly to the location I needed to be in. I decided to leave that for another dream.

      I 'woke up' into a false awakening.

      I have read many articles now about Lucid Dreaming, and I believe that will help me to have a lucid. I have many doubts on what I would do if i had a lucid, yet I must not give in to those doubts. I learned that you must stabilize your dream and do a reality check whenever you are in a new dream. I will try to appeal to all my senses before going around and see what I can do. I am very excited about this, because I have never had a lucid where I could remember my senses and how it felt when I woke up. I will make sure to write everything down after my dream, specially details and sensory details.

      I hope I can have a lucid in less than 2 weeks, seeing I am excited as I could be. I will try many methods, but my first one will be DILD.

      I have tried relaxing with the dreamviews suggestions on how to lucid dream. It took me a while to enter a serious state. It felt amazing to block out everything around you, sound, light, even thoughts that humans have every day. I am so amazed by how complex, and I believe we will never be able to get the full potential of it.

      I bet that by tomorrow I am going to forget a lot of this, and I will just say " screw this ". I really hope that does not happen, and will do everything in my willpower to stop that. I want to dream, to understand, to remember.

      Also, I have been thinking about total control of the brain, where your free will determines on what your brain does. I believe that is IMPOSSIBLE, is like a gun trying to shoot itself.

      Anyways, Im off to read some more, play a video game to block out some stuff that happened today, read fiction, then just try to set up a habit for future lucid dreaming days. Also, no fapping (lol)

    13. Attempt to Lucid Dream

      So, I was talking to one of my friends about Lucid Dreaming. He says he yearns for lucid dreaming almost every night, and he had 4 lucid dreams in a month. I want to believe everything dreamviews say. I want to lucid dream, the fact to do whatever you want with no restrictions, to see how your brain works in the most awkward positions and times. I want to understand my dreams, remember them and possibly share them with everyone around me. I have read up about Lucid dreaming, and have begun doing reality checks very often. I have downloaded music to see if I will be able to at least relax. I am not planning on having a lucid dreaming today, I am planning to set up a habit to make it easier on me, to remember the most exciting dreams. I have faith, and I really wish I have mind control and sleeping habits. As this is my first entry, and not a dream entry, I want to set up a road for me. Consider this an experiment on myself, and I will post all my results here. I hope to update this every night, if my brain allows me to remember this kind of information. Since I usually wake up often in the night (for no reason) I decided to try WBTB, and see what happens. I also want to have a mixture of MILD's and WILD's and see which one works best. I believe the MILD will be easier for me, but I must remember to not move, as it is essential for my brain to recognize my muscles as idle muscles.

      So anyway guys, this is just my first entry, my reality checks are the breathing when your nose and mouth are closed, and when I try to use a hand to go through my other hand. if any of you are reading this, please let me know any tips or tutorials on what I should do to enhance my dreams

      Also, the main reason I am doing this is to have no limits, no awkwardness with the actions I do, and just be able to be me. I also want to try Lucid Sex (sorry if this sounds so perverted, but I must try it), but I believe it will be very hard to achieve such state of Lucid Sex.

      I am out, I am going to spend another hour reading up on some more of this, then I will probably go do something that relaxes my brain (read, but I hope no electronics)

    14. My 2nd LD.. Finding DG + ToTM ?!

      Nondream - Lucid - Nonlucid

      How I pulled off Another LD, I will never know. This is the second LD in a row.
      Somehow.. It was another WILD + 2DEILD Chain(another 3 dreams).. Same as last night(which I do recommend you read :D),
      Although I did use the same technique as last night, even at the exact same time.
      I'm very surprised I remembered about ToTM in this dream,
      Not that it went so well..

      I'm starting to get why everyone says recall is so important for LDing,
      I've been kinda unfocused on it lately,
      which is why I forgot tons of this dream.

      I wake up at 5am as usual(note i do not use an alarm, I always naturally wake up at this time)
      I couldn't remember if I had any dreams at all.
      My stupid recall sucks.
      I try to do the same thing I did last night(which you can read about in my first DJ post :D)
      But without the counting and straight to the visualization.
      I was on my side, but my nose was really really bothering me,
      After a bit I rolled over on my back,
      WAM. LD.

      I enter the dream lucid,
      but I dont really remember this part of my dream..
      This part was actually pretty long,
      All I remember is the very end of it.
      I'm at some house, possibly my house,
      I remember wondering about what I'll do in this dream
      I run out of my garage onto the street, its pretty sunny.
      "DREAM GUIDE!!" (I've been very very interested in finding my DG)

      I get too excited, the dream fades out,
      Everything is blank, I feel my bed,
      though my vision is engulfed in white.
      I try holding onto the feeling of flying,
      I can feel it in my stomach, as if im still flying through the air.
      At one point I see myself in third person,
      but I dont remember if I was flying or just lying down.
      The backround of my vision remains white the whole time.
      I feel a dream coming, and i re-enter(DEILD#1)

      I zoom into a darker scene,
      I'm in some broken down basement, its pretty dark.
      I see broken down furnace in front of me(the kind with open slits in front, where you have to shovel charcoal into it)
      There are broken pipes everywhere,
      the floors pretty nasty too.
      I immediately make myself float through the ceiling,
      I don't want to stay in the basement.
      It takes a while to float up, I still haven't even mastered flying yet,
      It takes a while to get my whole body to ground level.

      It looks like the house wasnt even completed yet,
      Like it was either still being constructed, or it was broken down pretty bad.
      It had no walls, only the wooden pillars that hold a house up,
      but you could see completely outside.
      I float above the house for a little, looking around,
      its night, the landscape's very hilly,
      Its covered in some kind of pink/reddish flower.

      I land and start walking around.
      I see some kind of village,
      It was made up of wooden huts, and I think there was a fire in the middle.
      I approached it.
      As i got closer I see the village is inhabited by some kind of monster,
      They're each probably around 10 feet tall.
      They have arms, legs and a body,
      but their bodies were super buff.
      I think they were grayish, might've had fur,
      And I think I remember stripes on them too, red i think.
      They have huge horns on their heads,
      the horns grow out, and then curve up.
      I dont remember what their faces looked like.

      One of them sees me, and charges at me,
      Shiz. I start running as fast as i can.
      I yell "DREAM GUIDE!!"
      "Im here" Its a woman's voice
      I can hear her but I cant see her.
      Luckily it looks like I lost that monster thing,
      I yell out again "Where are you??!"
      "Im right here" she says
      I still cant see her, but i follow the voice.

      I come up to another village,
      its setup's the same as the monster village,
      But no monsters. Phew.
      I find the source of the voice.

      Its an old lady. Sigh. (I was expecting someone.. Hotter..)
      She has that short puffy grandma hair,
      she's pretty short too, a little below my chest,
      and she was just a litttttle on the chubby side, she had a deep tan to her.
      Well.. I guess she did sortve have a shaman kinda look to her,
      So you know thats cool too,
      "YOUR my dream guide??"
      "Yes" she says casually.

      She starts saying something about the monsters attacking(Im not good with remembering dialogue by the way)
      And sure enough a monster pops out behind one of the hills and runs toward us.
      Theres another man with us, standing right next her,
      I didnt really get a good look at him though,
      but he's short too, the same height as she was.
      He's the first one to charge at the attacker, he wields a sword.
      My DG(I should have asked for her name) tells me to attack, but im not sure how(until here I've never fought in a dream)
      The guy with the sword keeps the monster busy.
      I want to try an energy attack,
      I hold both my arms up, palms pointed at the monster.
      SHOOT I tell myself.
      A ball of energy launches from my hands,
      Its green, and about the size of a bowling ball.
      Direct hit! It lands right on the monsters chest, it flies backwards.
      Sweet!

      I dont really remember what happened after,
      but I think me and my DG talked a little bit more, nothing important, I hope.
      The dream fades around here,
      and in the exact same way as last time, I again re-enter the dream(DEILD#2)

      Im in a huge house, I live here.
      I see my parents and sister, I talk with them a little, cant remember exact conversations.
      The house looks really nice, there are huge glass windows everywhere,
      The rooms are really big too,
      I see a balcony.
      I walk towards it,
      Its pretty sunny now.

      "Now what am I gonna do?"
      Then, im not sure how, but it comes to mind,
      "How crazy would it be if I pulled of the Task of the Month in only my SECOND Lucid??"
      I decide to try it,
      I hop off the balcony, and right in front of me is a harbor/port, and its suddenly cloudy

      There are two big cargo ships in the port, I think about a shipwreck,
      one of the ships just sinks. Perfect!
      I jump right into the water, the harbor turns into a huge swimming pool.. Weird.
      There are a bunch of people swimming everywhere,
      but there are still cargo ships and boats in the water,
      must be a big pool.

      I swim to the side of the ship,
      Annd I DIVE.. Wait what?
      I cant dive.. Wtf.
      I try again.
      Its like the water wont let me go under..

      I start asking people.

      I ask another swimmer
      "How do I dive????"
      He looks at me and says
      "..Just dive"
      I CANT. I ask about 2 other people, and they tell me the same thing.
      Im getting annoyed.

      I see two guys in a small boat, I ask them the same thing.
      I think they gave me endless "Wait"s, but they never answer,
      And then they just drive their boat away,
      I yell "CMON YOUR MY SUBCONSCIOUS!!"
      Whatever. Stupid DC-__-

      I still cant dive, so I give up and decide to just explore the pool.

      Its pretty big, there are even a bunch pulleys and platforms everywhere.
      In the dream I knew how they worked, but now I dont remember,
      I did a bunch of stuff and talked to a bunch of people, cant remember details though.

      The pool had a downstairs, don't ask how.
      But there I was, it looks pretty cool,
      It kinda looked like a wooden cabin,
      cause you know, it was made outa wood.
      The inside was pretty big, the light were dimmed.
      I think there was a party going on, there were a bunch of people, just talking/chillin.

      I remembered about stabilizing the dream and trying to make it more vivid,
      I looked down at my hand, I had about eight fingers,
      I tried to focus and move only my real five fingers, and my hand went back to five fingers,
      But it turned to eight again when I looked away.

      I tried making my dream more vivid,
      I looked at my hand again, this time trying to focus on the little details,
      It worked!!
      I've never had a dream this vivid(It was actually still a little bit blurry, but I've never had it this vivid)
      I could see all the details of my hand, there was even a little of a glow on it from the lights.
      Even my usual tunnel vision had opened up pretty far(i think it was like that the whole dream, but i only noticed it here)
      I rubbed my hands together trying to stabilize.

      Then I tried smell,
      I took a deep breath through my nose,
      I didnt smell anything, but this is the first time I've consciously breathed in a dream,
      or used my nose.

      I run my hand along the wall,

      Unfortunately, I wake up. I try another DEILD, but this time I dont feel any more dreams coming,
      I get up and immediately write down the dream!
      (This is the same way I woke up in my first LD, always when I try to stabilize>_>)


      The dream was again, AMAZING. That had to be my Longest lucid yet! It felt like it was around 15 minutes, maybe longer :)
      I think its pretty good for only my second LD too :)
      Hopefully I can work on my recall so I can remember more of it next time!

      I go back to sleep and into another dream...

      I'm walking down a road with several people. It seems the landscape is sort of barren and part of the road is packed dirt. There is a kid smashing someone's phone on the ground. He either throws it down and stomps on it or he rides his bike over it. I know it is Joel's phone and it makes me really angry.

      The kid's bike is more like a tricycle and the back two wheel are connected by a chain. I grab it and make him wreck, but I don't think I really do it, I think I just day-dream about it inside of the dream.

      ... I am walking down a long, concrete tunnel. Jessi is ahead of me. There is a guy in front of me blowing into a long metal tube that's stuck under the wall. Seconds after he blows into it a guy stumbles out just ahead covered with mud. I instinctively know he is trying to catch people illegally crossing the border who are crawling through in a secret tunnel next to this one. They arrest the man.

      I go through a doorway and into this all concrete room with writing all over the walls. I look at the writing and everything is in what I believe to be French. "Ahh, that makes sense," I say to myself. "After all, we ARE in France."

      Then I think about this and realize that this must be in a dream as I haven't actually gone to France yet or heard back from the booking guys there.

      I look at the writing on the wall, look away, and look back. The words are still gibberish to me, but it is different. I am definitely dreaming and everything seems pretty solid. I walk the rest of the way out of the tunnel.

      I come out and I'm on top of a hill looking out over a little valley type park that reminds me of the greenbelt area near the old library in Maryville. There are people on the grass, the sky is clear and bright, and it is a very happy, beautiful scene.



      I recall the tasks of the month and set out to dive into some water. I float up off the ledge overlooking the field below and see my girlfriend Jessi walking down the path. I wave to her as I float up, thinking about how cool I must look, then I fly up into the air and dive back down towards the field, only expecting to find water there, which I do.

      I dive down into this green murky water (after all it had been a field only seconds before, so of course it's green?) and keep swimming down deeper. I know I don't have to worry about breathing and I try to imagine finding a pirate ship at the bottom of the water. I keep trying to go deeper and deeper but I cannot see cause the water is so dark. I make a ball of light in my hand, but all it does is make the green brighter.

      As I dive, I hear this creepy evil child's voice coming from my left and up. It is trying to scare me or do something to my mind. I quickly emerge from the water to take care of it and there is a child by the water, maybe 5-7. I'm not quite sure if it's a boy or a girl, but I know it is the source of the evil voice. I slap my open palm over it's head, in a classic exorcist style move, and the kid fall's quiet. To my left, on the concrete bank is a tiny chest, about 8 inches across. But standing over it is the kid's Dad, who does not seem pleased I just Benny Hinn'ed his Kid on the head.



      I turn to swim back towards the bottom and I see the moon up in the sky. I have the idea to translocate to the moon and from there try to get to Jupiter, but I don't have any faith it's going to work. I look up at the moon, close my eyes, and imagine myself beaming there, but when I open them I am still in the water and my dream fades away.
