    1. Successful Waterwalking (FINALLY!)

by , 09-17-2011 at 04:38 PM (A Long Strange Trip... into Ashraen's Twisted Psyche)

      notes

I am at a party where there is dancing and music. The guest of honor is announced as 'Adam Sandler,' but it's really my old soccer coach Joe, who actually looks alot like Adam. The spotlight is put on him, and he's trying to take a nap, which everyone thinks is hilarious. I am swordfighting with some people with long balloon swords.

I walk outside to get some fresh air, and it's dark. There are some people here and there, milling about, doing the types of things that people generally duck outside of a party to do, and I decide to start walking home. Suddenly, it's morning and I am driving down the road. There is a limo pulling out, and I slow down in order to let them on the road.. but the driver waves me on. As I pass the limo, I see that Mayor Royce from The Wire is riding in it, wearing a tuxedo with the tie undone and all disheveled looking.

When I see my turn off the road, I start to slow down, but I realize I'm not slowing down fast enough to make the turn. I try to slow down more, but it doesn't seem to work. This type of thing is common in my dreams, and it hits me that I might be dreaming. I quit trying to slow down and try to fly instead... the car lifts off the ground and I become lucid

I shed the car and keep flying for awhile, passing farmhouses and livestock, streams, hills, and fields. I'm looking for something but I don't seem to know what. I see a tall white tower on the side of a hill which looks very out of place, so I fly down to check it out. When I land on the roof, it becomes clear that the tower is very small - on a different scale than me. I am far too big to actually go inside.

I try to scale myself down - and it's working - but I can't seem to get quite small enough to actually go inside. The building seems to be scaling down a little as I do, altho I'm definitely getting smaller faster (in other words, the building was shrinking, but not as fast as I was). I decide to give up on this little adventure and find something else to do.

I fly over to to a large tree stump where a hispanic guy with a hat and sunglasses is sitting. I say 'Hola amigo, como estas?' He looks at me and says 'You must finish the quest.' I am confused by this.

NOTE: Upon waking, I realized this was my subconscious telling me to finish the quest I started the night before in the Serial Dream RPG. I even went to bed trying to incubate this... but sadly I didn't realize it in this lucid.

I look over and see a small pond with a rail fence around half of it. I have been trying (and failing) to walk on water for several attempts over a few months, so I decide I should walk on the water. Successfully this time. I fly over to the water, wave my hand to send a couple of sheep flying off in the distance (this is almost force of habit now. If I have a DC - human or animal - near me while I'm about to attempt something, I dismissively send them flying away from me immediately).

I had an idea of how to make the water walking work while in the waking world. I'm good at flying/floating, so I figured I would start by floating on the top of the water, then try walking. I grabbed the rail fence and stepped onto the water, keeping myself hovering over it. I lowered myself until I could feel the water touching my feet, then I let go of the fence and started to walk.. It was working! Finally!

As I crossed the pond, I began to every-so-slowly sink into the water a bit. I focused on levitating myself up a couple of inches, and continued to walk until I crossed the pond. At the other side, I took a deep breath, stabilized, and repeated the process. This time I made it back across without a hitch. I was so excited that the dream started to fade... I sat patiently, telling myself that it would come back as my world faded to black..

      -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

I was now awake, laying in bed, but I still hadn't moved or opened my eyes from the previous LD. I knew if I was patient, the dream would return. I began to hear sounds in the distance, and a dreamscape (my room) began to form out of the darkness. I got up, levitated the fan on the desk in my room just to be sure I was dreaming (it worked), and walked to my door. I decided to walk through the door instead of opening it (sometimes I can do this easily, sometimes not). As I pressed against the door, the door resisted and I felt my dream fading. I stubbornly kept trying to force myself through the door... and I woke up.

Take that water walking!! I was so sick of mastering all kinds of crazy dream powers (even successfully made a portal the other night) and not be able to do this one simple thing.. but now I've done it and I have the confidence of knowing that I can. DEILD chained me into a very short LD unfortunately, but that was because of my stubbornness with the door. If I had stopped and stabilized, it would have extended. All in all, good morning of dreaming

    2. Element Control [1/4] Water

      by , 09-15-2011 at 10:28 PM
I was in a fitness hall, spraying water out of my hand, which i swung in spirals, forming a square shaped water box at the end.
    3. God of thunder....almost

by , 09-14-2011 at 07:27 PM (Tales from the sun chaser.)
So I'm heading out of my room, and right on the front door, there's a tiny hammer. I pulled it off, and started manipulating it. It grew in size, and I felt my power increasing. I just kept thinking to myself "I'm totally gonna Thor this". The hammer was about the the size of my palm, and barely stuck out. I kept thinking about it enlarging. The hammer increased in size even more. This metallic looking device was about the size where I wanted it to be. Just then the sky, seemingly automatic, started to change.

The sun moved it's way over the horizon, and the stars came out, and the moon rose within seconds. "The head of the hammer needs to be just a little bit bigger". I continue manipulating it, as gusts of wind hit me. All of a sudden I can hear a large noise in real life that ends up waking me up.

Did both the advanced and basic tasks last night.

I'm having a hard time remembering the non-lucid part of this dream, I'll eedit this later if I remember more.

I was near this weird looking canal. The water looked yellow from the reflections of the streetlights. In some spots there was carpet leading up to the water, and there were other things that made no sense. These tipped me off that it was a dream, I didn't even RC. I thought "what to do?" and remembered the task of the month. I used my mind to raise the water level(not sure if this counts as controlling the elements but I think it should). Then I walked around on it. I sunk a little at first, the water seemed a little goopy. But I stepped up to the top of it. This is something I've tried many times before and was never able to do it. I succeeded this time because I really focused on the fact that it was a dream and I could do anything if I believed I could.

    5. Old LD from 11-29-06

      by , 09-13-2011 at 04:42 PM
      11-29-06

I just had my longest Lucid Dream ever.

I had awakened at exactly 6:00. It was a sleep-in day, so I got up did a few little things, took a B6, then lay back on my bed and listened to U2 for about a half hour, then turned off the music and thought about what I wanted to LD about. I came up with a few ideas, but decided I might just go with the flow when the LD started. At exactly 7:00 I laid back down to go to sleep.

I started dreaming. The first part that stands out was I was at my friends' house. They had moved and were building their own house. The house was like a big castle--but painted white with red trim. There was a tunnel though the house, and I could see a large train engine sitting there.

I told them, "Wow...I see you are actually making your dream house. It's so cool!"

I talked to them for a bit about the house. Then I got distracted. I had this ball of rolled up chain that I was holding. I realized that I could make it float, and if I hung on real tight I could come up off the ground a few feet.

I'm pretty sure it was that that triggered lucidity. This was such a long dream that I don't feel that I can get it all in order. But I don't feel that for this type of dream order will make a huge difference.

I believe the first thing I did was to fly. I don't think I went far before I decided I needed to try some things out. So I landed.

I looked at my hands. I wanted to get as much detail as I could. The fingers this time were all normal. There were a few purple ink smudges on my hand (in the dream I blamed them for some I had gotten in real life, but I actually didn't have any IRL). The spots would come and go, kind of like when you look at a bright light and for the next minute you see a spot of color in front of your eyes that moves around as you move your eyes.

I could also see the ridges and finger prints on my hand and fingers. I felt satisfied at the detail I was seeing.

I looked at my clothes. I was wearing my long sleeve brown shirt (again) and my blue Levis... and blue flip flops (which I don't own in real life).

I flew around again and did December's Basic Lucid Task...which I just wanted to try and see if I could. I guess I have to leave out the details here, until the Tasks are made public. I was surprised how easy it was and knew that if I became lucid in December it would be no problem to repeat.

      Then things get fuzzy.

I think I flew around some more until I came to two guys. I thought, "I'm wasting this LD. I need to do something interesting". I looked at the guys again. They were both old-ish. I looked at the younger of the two. He was in his late forties, balding and had crooked teeth. And he didn't look to happy to see me hovering in front of him and staring at him like that.

But I thought, "What the heck." So I came close to him and thought I would give him a little kiss. But instead, our teeth clanked and he pushed me away.

I thought , "Okay, that was a bad idea." and flew again.

I eneded up in this large castle like building. I can't remember details, but I remember walking out of a room and out on a balcony. I looked over the edge. I was up many stories. There were rocky fields below. I thought about letting myself fall off backwards like I had done before--because it is really a test of courage to just fall back like that.

But instead I took this moment to stop and think. I thought back on this LD and was afraid I would never remember all I did. I thought about finding a paper to write it down, thinking that maybe the review in my mind might help when I woke up. But I decided not to because I thought that might take too long.

So I looked back off the balcony again. And that's when I remembered I owed CoLd BlooDed a flight. I looked around and hoped he would just show up there on the balcony with me. When he didn't I stared at the stone wall and concentrated on making him materialize out of nowhere. That also didn't work.

Frustrated, I looked back down at the ground and focused on a rock. I then picked it up with my mind and threw it as far as I could.

I did that to a second rock...and a third. I was rather impressed with myself because I had never remembered being able to do that in a dream. I thought about other powers I might want to try. I thought about how Oneironaut gathered all this energy in him and did something cool with it...but I couldn't remember exactly what he had done (decided I would read about it again when I woke up).

I think I just decided to fly again. I realized that there was music playing. It was a lot like Handel's Hallelujah Chrous--but not quite.

I decided I just wanted to fly fast and high. I sometimes have trouble going either fast or high. So I did what I read about on this website about picturing rockets coming out of my feet. As soon as I thought that I heard a low roar and left myselt surge forward a bit. But then it slowed again.
And it was somewhere around here that I woke up. And when I looked at the clock it said 8:04.

    6. The Camping Ground - 34th Lucid

      by , 09-13-2011 at 12:01 PM (Dark_Merlin's Dream Journal)
The dream begins in the bush with dad. We just got out of a car at the edge of a new camping ground. It is small, rounded and at the edge of the ground the tree line begins, and continues on into the forest. There is a very large kangaroo a few meters away from us, looking over occasionally. It is after mid-day and the sun is shining through the trees, creating a beautiful dappled afternoon and a joyous feeling as we arrive.

Dad starts commenting about the camping ground. "Gee, this is pretty ugly. I thought it'd be bigger." I have memories of this place, perhaps from a previous dream or the terrain was created from a memory of bush land. I think it's absolutely beautiful, but I just talk along with Dad anyway. "It's a bit small I guess", for most of this time my eyes have been glued to the kangaroo, who is still standing around and un-afraid of our presence. To the left, there are two people sitting around some sort of camp-fire, I catch them in my peripheral vision as they stand and say "It's nice once you get used to it". Dad makes a comment about how he could take out the roo with a shotgun, and is now standing at a table where the car was parked, looking at a long box which contained a shotgun.

Memory jumps a little here, but I assume the two people start taking us in to a large wooden cabin. We walk through a door on the left side of the building, the inside is a large hall space. A boy from school I don't often talk to - Max - walks up to me, and the first thing he says to me is "You're dreaming, you know?"
"Oh, I am?" I wasn't quite sure - everything seemed very realistic and I hadn't realised till now the strange dream-like feeling. I could tell before I had RC'd, but I did it anyway, and plugged my nose and breathed in. Awesome!

I turn to him, start rubbing my hands together to stabilise, and with the situation at hand I take the opportunity to ask a question, directed at the dream character but aimed to get an answer from my subconscious, I look him straight in the eyes.
"How come this doesn't happen more often?"
      "Huh?"
"How come you don't normally tell me when I'm dreaming?"
"Oh, you know, uh.." He was really unresponsive.
      "Is it an effort thing?"
I can't remember if he replied or the dream skipped, but he ended up saying
"You know, where I'm from there's this trick with water-"
and instantly I remembered - Yes! My goals! The ToTM!
      "Thank you!"

I start walking backwards out of the building, and think "When I turn around, there will be water." I pictured a lake, or a large, clear puddle behind me. When I turned, there was a few trees in front of a clearing, where there was a murky, muddy puddle. I walked towards it, saying in my head "I am walking to the water" over and over.

I stood infront of the puddle, facing towards the cabin. I stepped, trying to stand on the water and my foot simply planted straight into it. Hm. I tried both feet and failed. I believe I could have tried to lift myself out of the water after having both feet in, but I can't remember it completely and I'm not going to count it as complete. When I was done, I stood infront of the puddle again - this time for the advanced task. I started with water bending - something I've done completely naturally in a lucid dream before - but now I was thinking about it. I try and raise the water in a stream, using my hands to guide it up. It doesn't work, but I somehow make a splash in the puddle, and increase the effort and concentration I'm putting into the telekenesis. The murky water collects into one ball at eye level, gently swirling around while I increase the intensity to gather more water.

People started to gather and I realised I needed to control two elements, and not just water. While holding the ball of water in the air, I focus on the ground and try and raise up the dirt in columns - it doesn't work. Okay, wind! I start yelling, louder and louder as they do in Dragon Ball Z, feeling as I draw in more energy. The last time I did this in a dream I woke up just before I was finished and I didn't want that to happen again so I stopped increasing the volume. Loads of people were standing around me now - one was filming. I could see the wind blowing around me but I couldn't feel it yet - and the dream was starting to fade! I put all my effort in and felt the air rushing forwards against my back - success!

I woke up into a False Awakening, hearing an occasional dull buzzing noise. I presumed it was my phone, and turned to find out I had fallen asleep in bed on IRC with my netbook. I had been added to a private channel with ShockWave, Raspberry and a few new members I didn't recognise - I was also using webchat. I closed the windows and had a sudden panic that the lucid hadn't saved in the word document! (Which I never typed.) I woke up, as I went to check for the document, and started writing the dream out.
    7. Sharing with Silas, Smoke-A-"Ton" 2011

      by , 09-13-2011 at 08:29 AM
      non-lucid - Notes - lucid

13-09-11 I am lying in my bed and I can hear Silas talking to someone, a dream entitiy. For some reason I think he is talking about a location I know and that he is part of IOSDP. I keep thinking windmill, which is then repeated by the dream entity and he talks about bikes as well. I think I know the location he is talking about so I think hard about Vesterguard, and this is eventually repeated by the dream entity as well, first as guard and then the full name.

Not sure if the above section was a FA or HH → pre REM dreaming.

I am lucid and the dream starts forming. I am in the sea, swimming around unable to get to shore, know I am dreaming, but my vision is blurry and I have limited control. I see light in the horizon out over the water and what would be a sea port town. I eventually stabilise the dream through breathing.

I am waiting for Silas or ”Crusher” (definitely a name with a C, though I will refer to him as Silas from now on) or whatever to get out of the water. I decide to finish off the TotM tasks. Walking on water was simple enough have, but I have to try a bit harder to pull out a ball of water from the ocean mentally, the water keeps rippling where I try and pull out the ball, and sling it maybe 20 metre in a forward arch (this is what I tried to do in the first lucid I had, but got interrupted).

Silas comes into shore and I take him to the place I thought was the place, but it turns out he doesn't recognise it it. We talk a bit about us both being new to this whole IOSDP thing and that we will just continue marching on writing down our stuff and trying to meet.

Silas takes off and I try and do a cool back flip onto a little hut, that turns into a chest in my grand father's house, albeit a very tall chest and the back flip is sub par. I jump down and someone is using a crowbar to tear through a thin wall.

”We have nearly destroyed my grand mother's house” I say, think to either Silas or the person using the crowbar. I am in the basement and I say ”Well, see you around” and try and fly out, but can't get through the walls or windows, I try and open the windows and now I have the crowbar, they are too small, I try another one and get stuck looking at some girl/woman who I tell I have been playing around and stuff. She tells me I have been playing with (don't recall name) a baby girl, because apparently I have colour in my face.

Notes: Though lucid the entire time even with access to waking memory (cf. The TotM tasks) I don't realise that I am talking to Silas, a TV show character and treat him as a member of the IOSDP. Aside from that the control I had in this dream was horrible apart from the TotM stuff.

I am in possession of copious amounts of weed, bags that would indicate in the kilos. This particular theme is recurring over what I believe to be a series of dreams. But it is all very fragmented.

I get back from a party and I am pretty pissed, I think I try and skin up without much success.

I pick up some weed somewhere and bring it to a friends house, which results in the house getting raided as I bought it of the mum of the girl I was visiting and the dealer didn't want weed around her daughter.

I run into an old female friend of mine from way back, who explains that they have gone out to town recently where they brought “the other Rasmus” and Sisse and they ended up hooking up and having sex. I was surprised to find that this actually hurt considering it was 8 years ago and that I was only with her for 3 months approximately.

I return to the first girl's house where I find that the weed I brought the night before is still there. I start making a roach and look for paper. I have some in my pocket, but it is all crumbled up and I am unsure if the clue will stick. Doesn't matter in the end I find some on the table. The roach becomes really weird and some woman calls me from downstairs before I can roll a spliff.

I am talking to a friend who have found a stash of wed of maybe 3 kilos. He is talking about how it is located in a residential area and he has seen it quite some times just lying there. He argues we could make some profit of it by starting to sell a bit.

We are under a bridge with graffiti on the wall and in a room which looks sterilised and metallic, though shaped like a container on the inside. This is where the aforementioned 3 kilos of weed is. We get busted and try and explain that we could sell for the dealer, but he doesn't care explains that he deals in larger lumps and as far as he is aware all we do is owe him and eights.

In a sauna/steam room with a lot of men and I am about to fight my dad. I keep placing well placed uppercuts. He warns me that he will get going soon, there isn't a lot of room to move and I am afraid of bumping into other naked men.

Kaiser complementing my new jacket and informing me that he will start shopping in second hand shops as well.
    8. Totm attempts / Hibiscus girl / Destiny

      by
      Hyu
      , 09-13-2011 at 02:51 AM (Hyu's Adventures)
I wasn't really able to write these down until now, I just had lots of things to do.
I have noticed that my dream recall has been acting a bit weird over the past few days.
I just seem to remember a ton of dreams, though most of them are very vague and fragmented.
My dreams don't seem to be more vivid or any longer though, so I'm not really sure if it's "better".
Nevertheless it feels weird remembering like ~10 different fragments a day.
These are a few interesting ones.

      Totm Attempt #1: Butterfly
I WILD during an afternoon nap, trying to complete the Totm.
I'm quite confident that I'll manage to succeed on the first try.

My dream starts on "the beach".
For some reason some of my WILD's randomly seem to start out on this beach.
It always looks the same, and it is always dusk.
I remember the Totm and approach the water in order to walk on it.
This is going to be easy I have done this many times before.

But as I approach the beach I suddenly spot a butterfly.
It is extremely colorful, with very colorful and vivid patterns on its wings.
      It's emitting glowing particles.
I follow it, intrigued as to where it is going and completely forget about the Totm.

      Totm Attempt #2:
I have another dream of being lost in an unknown hotel.
I become lucid and remember the Totm.
The dream is unstable and I'm not thinking very clearly.
Instead of stabilizing, I start running around aimlessly, attempting to find a water surface.
The dream quickly fades to black and ends.

      The hibiscus girl:
I had another dream about the hibiscus girl: Another mysterious woman / Emotional and sensory overload - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views
Unfortunately my recall of it is quite bad.

This time we are on the surface of another planet.
She has a red hibiscus attached to her left ear, looking very similar to the one drawn on her bikini last time.
We're having a discussion, I demand to know who she is.
She refuses to tell me though.
It seems clear by now that she is reading my DJ, I'm considering that she might be a DV member.
I make the comment that she has an "unfair advantage" over me, because she's able to read my DJ, yet I know nothing about her.

But she keeps denying my requests, and says that she likes being in control.
I remember that last time she was able to drag me to another place by simply looking into my eyes.
I attempt to do the same thing to her, and manage to drag her to the beach.

This surprises her quite a bit, but it also seems to amuse her.
I say that I never stated that I write everything down in my online DJ, she might be in for a few surprises.
She makes a comment that makes me believe that this is some sort of game to her.
I somehow understand this reasoning though and begin to share it.

      Totm Attempt #3:
I decide to attempt the Totm yet again. I'm determined to complete both tasks.
I do it during an afternoon nap yet again since I had some success last time, except that I got distracted.

Surprisingly, I enter the dream on the beach yet again.
This time I decide to stabilize the dream though, and calm my mind.
I rub my hands and slowly approach the sea.
I feel the sand beneath my toes. It's still moderately warm.

For some reason I'm a bit nervous as I start walking on the water surface.
Oddly enough I seem to be afraid to fail, even though I've done it many times before.
      Fortunately, it works flawlessly.
I walk on the water, deeper into the sea with my arms stretched out for additional balance.

Alright, so far so good, controlling elements is next.
I look at my right hand and make it catch on fire.
This is quite straightforwards as I have manipulated fire many times before.
But what other element could I possibly manipulate?
Water...? No. That's probably too hard.

I create an arc of lightning between two of my fingers.
I think that I have completed the Totm for a moment, but then realize that lighting isn't exactly one of the 4 elements.
What were the other ones again?
Fire, Water... Earth? I wouldn't know what to do with earth...
      Wind it is.

I compress some of the air around me into my right fist and release it forwards.
This creates a shock and air is propelled forwards.
The pressure upsets the water surface.

I'm not really satisfied with the result though.
I do the same thing again, this time compressing much more air.
This time it creates a small tornado, that runs flat over the water surface.
It lifts some of it up and sprays it all over the place.

I'm quite satisfied, and happy that I managed to complete both tasks within a single dream.
I decide to dive into the sea to see if I'll find something interesting, but it doesn't take long until I wake up.

      Destiny:
After a long time, I've started having dream fragments of "Destiny" yet again: Recurring dream about a spaceship mission to find extraterrestrial life. - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views
None of them drove "the plot" forward though.
I was always on board the Destiny completing a random task.
My memories of the dream fragments are quite vague.
    9. LD: Witnessing the End of the World

      by , 09-12-2011 at 05:07 PM
      11-08-06

I just awoke from doing the Tasks of the Month!

It was at the end of a super long dream.

      Dream:

I remember being at a gym with my sister and one of her friends. I had never gone to this gym, so I wasn't sure what all the machines did. But I got on them anyway and tried to be creative.

Next thing I remember is that they are interviewing someone and I hear him on the speakers. It is another old friend of mine R.S. that I haven't seen since high school and that I have lost touch with. I look at him from across the room. We make eye contact. He smiles at me. I hurry across the room so I can see him.

But before I can get to him I bump into E, who is the friend I stayed with in LA. He pulled at my arm and took me aside. He looked very handsome. I decide to just hug him. He them tells me something important. But I don't remember.

The dream transitions again and I am what I first thought was a dentist office. I later realize that it is a mental institition and that I am being held--against my will, if needs be. I thought, "Screw this. I can't stay here."

And I took off flying over everyones' heads then out the door in back. I flew over the grassy area and then some trees before I realize that I have to go back.

I remembered that E was still there. I had to get him out. And then I remembered...."The Book". We had to get The Book out with us. In it were all the secrets that I had...secrets like Why I could fly.... There was no choice. I had to go back.

I went in the back doors past my friend BC (who had helped me a lot last week in real life). He was working there but doesn't try to stop me. I see E, and on the closest desk is The Book. I grab the book and shout at E to follow me. He runs out the door, but as he sees me flying, he takes off flying, too. And in a minute he is ahead of me. I try to catch up. I look below us and I see that there is a big group of children following us. C is with them. Suddenly I'm so low that they are almost able to grab my feet. I know that they are not there to hurt us, but I worry that they will slow us down. We really need to get away. I tell myself that I have the power to fly higher and faster. It works a bit.

Next thing I remember is that we went into some sort of building, maybe a library. I run across to the far side with E. There is a lady standing in front of us. I am sure she is there to capure us and take us in. But then she asks if she could help us. I look at her, and say, "What we really need is to take this off." I grab a wooden grate that is covering a slit on an outside wall. She seems surprised, but I don't wait to see what she will do. I squeeze though, so does E and then we fly again.

But now we are close to the tops of these mountains. There are trees with beautiful fall leaves, mostly yellow in color (aspen?).

I look over and suddenly see a group of young people. I say to myself, "These are my old friends from high school". But they weren't. They were people I know now from my current life. Most were kids.

I don't know why that was the thing, after all the other crazy things--but that triggered lucidity.

I landed by the kids. I told myself that I would hang on to this dream no matter what. There were some important things I needed to try. Amazingly it all stayed clear.. I looked over and saw S and K. I decided to ask them the Simple Task of the Month.

      "Am I dreaming?" I asked K.

"Yeah you are, but it's not how I thought it would be."

      "Am I dreaming?" I asked S.

Yeah, but it's not what I thought it would look like."

I went over to a group of younger kids.

      "Am I dreaming?"

Their responses were very typical of little children.

They all responded with "Yeah, but...." And each of there ending part of the response was something really silly that didn't make sense. And each kids was getting sillier and sillier to outdo the kid before him.

I wish I remembered more of the responses. They were things to the affect of "Yeah, but I got to go to Disneyland last week." Or "Yeah, but I have a loose tooth." Irrelevant stuff.

But I was surprised, though, that they all said "yes". I wasn't sure if it would be "yes" or "no".

Then I remembered the second Task of the Month--to witness the End of the World.

I looked around and found another adult..someone else I know from LV. I tell him, "In a few minutes it will be the end of the world. We need to try to keep the kids safe." I think I was saying the last part so that Dream Character didn't to anything that would stop me from finishing the dream as I needed to do.

We kept the kids together on that high spot on the mountain. Then the other adult and I got in the car and drove down a road until we could see off the edge and down to the rest of the world.

At first I saw volcanos erupting. Smoke and ash filled the sky. The I saw huge floods come in and swallow up the city before me. I thought, "They are all gone...."

We drove again. I remember seeing all these wet kittens in the road just standing there trembling.

That really got to me. I started to cry. What had I done.....?

      Then I woke up.

    11. 30th Shared Dreaming Attempt - Vesterguard's Dream

by , 09-11-2011 at 11:16 AM (International Oneironaut Shared Dreaming Journal)
      Vesterguard's Dreams

      non-lucid - Notes - lucid

11-09-11 I wake up in my bed and have a feeling I am dreaming. I am having trouble opening my right eye. I ask the dream for more vision which it gives me. I am about to just fly through the window as normal, but decide to take a bit of time stabilising the dream this time.

I do this by grabbing hold of the curtain by the window and really looking at my plants in the window. I normally only have one plant in the window and it looks smaller in the dream than it does in waking life. Besides engaging touch and vision I also try and smell my plants, though without success, however when I do this one of the plants transform right in front of me, which I consider a bit odd as normally I can't really make transformations of objects all that well, but hey it wasn't intentional.

After some time of doing all of this I sit myself down in the window and notice the weather is grey and drizzling. I think to myself that it is pretty much as it was in waking life. I feel like I am getting ill in waking life and the cold and wind from dream environment is uncomfortable for me so I sit and spend a bit of time altering the chilling sensations so I can still feel them, but without the “cold” feeling attached.

I fly upwards and encounter an Asian woman hanging in the air along with some laundry out for drying. I am about to just fly past her, but decide to interact a bit, considering the possibility that this may not be a DC. I ask her name, which is really weird and I semi-hate myself for not remembering, and tell her “That is a weird name”, to which she replies “Not as weird as yours!” “Oh yeah, what is my name?” I ask “Stefan Vamt” she replies and I have to concede “Yeah, that is a weird name”.

Note: First time a DC has given me a name completely different to my own.

I have been flying around her a bit in order to keep off the ground, at one point I did try just hovering, which went fine, so I don't know why I have been flying around. In any case I get sent spinning into circles, which I at first try to stop.

“You know what, Spinning, not a bad idea, lets try” So I spin and it nearly crashes the dream and I abort mid way (I think). However I get slung off to one side onto a building my vision faded from the dream completely, but I manage to grab hold of the edge of the roof and start crawling onto the roof until I can feel the roof top (it is a pointy roof) and I start making my way towards the gable.

When I get to the gable I start getting flashes of the building and more specifically the small water pools at the ground. I decide to try and relax a bit while keeping my sense of touch in the dream. Soon enough the dream stabilises and I take off into flight towards the building across the gap. I decide to just take it easy and observe what the dream presents.

When I think this the yellow brick wall becomes enriched with detail and I start ascending (not in a spiritual sense). I can't help the expectation that pops into my head as I am going upwards “El Castillo is going to be at the top of the building” which to my joy it is.

I make my way towards the pyramid that this time actually looks like the actual thing. There are ceremonial artefacts (if you can call crafted objects in a dream artefacts as they aren't necessarily man made), like pottery and such at the top level next to the temple building atop the pyramid.

I shout out “Fellow dreamers!”, but again my voice seem to be blurry and the words come out slower than normal and at this point I give up on trying to light the beacon, but instead go exploring.

I turn around and see constructions similar to my first visit. There are columns and archways all over the place and the jungle floor is scattered with smaller buildings all made in something that looks like sandstone.

The amazing thing is that these buildings doesn't seem intrusive as the foliage is allowed to grow freely, even more astonishing is the sense of living it provides to the city. A perfect integration of architecture and nature, where one adds beauty to the other in a synergistic fashion.

I look down and spot a large figure and recognise it as one of the feline figures I saw in my first visit here and decide to go and introduce myself. When I get down there it turns out to be a somewhat different figure, as essentially this is a big grey/white cat. It is however a few heads taller than me, has quite the...ehhh.. big bones, is bipedal and dressed in clothing that seems foreign to the city I am in.

It comes over to me and greets me, it knows about me from the first time I was here as I apparently made quite a gossip. I grab it's out stretched paw.

      I wake up.

I am in a shop where a couple of my old friends are running it. Furthermore they have an area out back where there are houses and other shops. I walk out into the back and and start talking with the older brother, who doesn't actually look like what I remember and he is wearing overalls.

I ask him if the entire back housing is theirs as well and he looks around and indicate that not only the houses, but all the shops around the rectangular yard belong to them as well.

Impressive I think to myself, even that shop up on the corner I once visited is theirs. I walk back into the shop and watch the youngest of the brothers handle a purchase, he seems little more than a baby now and has grown considerably younger.

I walk out the shop and down the street that transforms into a hallway by first turning into a tunnel type thing. I notice one of the gates on the right hand side is open and know that this is where they keep the Tyrannosaurus, so I can't help but always looking back towards that gate and expect a T Rex come running out, I am close to my room anyway.

Notes: I finaly understand the term semi-lucid now as this is exactly what I was, I knew I was dreaming sort of, I just hadn't “awoken” yet.

I open the door to my room on the left hand side and expect a Veloci Raptor (look at my extensive Jurassic Park knowledge of ancient reptiles!) to attack me, even if it does I will just punch it in its face.

As I walk through my vision starts to fade and I am questioning if I am dreaming
, but then I notice that my bass is standing upright against one of the sofa's and I know it to be lying on the floor, more specifically I know it to be lying on the floor between the window (where I am trying to go) and me.

I stabilise by breathing and calming down and gradually my visual sphere of perception is filled out with my room. Along with that I notice that there are quite a lot of tall trees outside in the garden that wouldn't normally be there. I notice that the weather is very similar to the last dream.

Before I fly out the window I expect El Castillo to be on my right hand side and start flying through the window. But I end up face against the glass and have to break it in order to get through. I fly upwards and to the right and there is something that looks like the pyramid but isn't quite that.

My flight is terrible and I end up slamming into a yellow building and have to climb up the roof. But strangely I decide to fuck worrying about my lack of control, which seems to strengthen it gradually as the dream progress.

From the roof of the yellow building I look across at yet another yellow building and run towards it and leap taking off into flight (which is back to normal now). In the top flat on the corner of the building there is a television set running and I think “Great, gonna port there through TV!” which I try, but am unsuccessful.

I think I just end up on the other side of the building and as I look up there are again loads of buildings that look like El Castillo, but isn't. So I decide to just give up and start flying down the street. The city reminds me of a mixture between Barcelona and a Moroccan city.

Colours and buildings shaped like that. But the streets are modern and wide and there is plenty of life and activity in the restaurants and bars in the one I am in.

      Like this.

I notice my mum sitting at a bar that is facing the streets wearing a cowboy hat. I carry on down the street and decides to chill a bit. What was the TotM? something about elements and walking on water. Well no water for me to walk on here, but plenty of wine glasses filled with it.

I sit down and reach my hand out towards a glass of water and make it boil and bubble. I intend to grab it out of the glass and hold it in the air, but someone talks to me from the back before I get a chance of exercising more control.

The voice makes me think I don't have much time left, which is weird and I don't even turn around to see who it was. I continue down and find a candle on one of the tables. I start pulling the fire towards me and the flame lengthens towards my hand.

Lame I think and carry on and find two candles on a table with a stranger sat next to it. I first pull rather hard mentally which extinguish one of the candles. I try again fairly hard, but with a bit more of a gentle build-up of force until the little flame leaps from the candle and into my hand where it continue to burn for a couple of seconds until I wake up.

      Fragments: Sleeping at Kaiser's place.

Picking up some old winning tickets from my grandmother who is deceased.

Flying around observing things without a body (non-lucid).

Actually had this dream Thursday night, just now getting the chance to journal it here.

I was riding in a van to my grandparents house. My grandfather (who died a few months ago) was driving, and my cousin was in the passenger seat, although he looked like my granddad. There wasn't really anything that triggered my lucidity- not even the fact that my grandfather is dead- but I suddenly realized that I was dreaming. I didn't even need an RC, because once I *did* realize it, I looked at grandaddy, and knowing he had passed was RC enough.

I told him to stop the van, and I got out, smelling the air, stabilizing, and deciding what to do. I was at a corner near my grandparent's house, where there was a drive-thru burger joint and a small clear pond surrounded by trees. I decided to do the TOTM. I have had trouble before walking on water, so I decided to go straight to the advanced.

I began by summoning some wind, feeling it pick up around me. I started to make it swirl in a giant cyclone around the pond. I jumped into it and let it buffet me upward, riding the cyclone in a circle to the top. I caused it to become more of a whirlpool and let it suck me down to the water, then made it buffet me back up.

As I rode along the top of the cyclone, I began shooting fireballs from my hands. At first they were small and hard to see, but slowly I focused on making bigger and bigger fireballs, setting the trees that ringed the pond on fire, continuing to ride around the circumference of the cyclone. I began to manipulate the existing fires in the trees, causing them to grow and jump at my command.

After awhile, I floated back down and let the cyclone subside. I know I had done 2 elements, but I had planned to go ahead and do all 4 while I was at it, so I went for earth. I walked over to the burger joint drive thru, and saw some cracks in the asphalt. I caused the cracks to widen, and the earth to split apart. I did this several times, including some cracks in front of a car in the drive thru. I opened a large hole underneath the car and caused it (and its occupants, who screamed in terror) to to fall into the earth, closing the hole back up over the top.

There was a sexy girl standing at the drive thru, so I took a timeout to make some dream lovin

Then I walked back over to the pond, which was rippling as the wind was still blowing fairly strongly. I stilled the waters, which allowed me to see a fish. I tried to send a lightning bolt at the fish (something I have never done) with no luck. I caused the waters to become rough again, splashing and swirling. I figured I might as well try to walk on it... I couldn't. So I froze the water and rolled a ball across the surface in hopes of helping me believe I could walk on it. It rolled for a bit, but then fell in, which wasn't ideal. I tried to walk on the the frozen part, but I fell through. D'oh! I swear I'm gonna do this one one day!

      Then I woke up.

That was a REALLY fun lucid! Destroyed the advanced task, but still can't walk on water. I can fly, morph, send objects flying through the air, shoot fireballs, create cyclones that lift me up, open holes in the ground, walk through walls, and yet I can't seem to friggin walk on water! Gotta love dream control
    13. Basic Task of the Month - September

      by , 09-08-2011 at 04:54 PM
I did the advanced task yesterday and this is the basic task completed (ironically this event happened against my will):

I was on very nice sandy beach with lots of people lying down, trying to sunbathe. At first I did the same, I sat on the warm, white sand and looked into the distant blue sky. Strangely, there were two enormous celestial bodies in the direction I was looking at but no-one found it the least bit odd. At this point I sort of knew that this was in fact not reality. Upon realising this, I thought "what the heck, lets just go nuts" and started sprinting towards the water. As I was closing the distance between myself and the water, the sky darkened rapidly and soon brilliantly lit stars filled the night sky. The moon also came up overhead and illuminated the entire ocean. The water was now emitting a sort of bioluminescent blue. I carried on running, and as I reached the edge I tried to jump into it to make a splash. But to my complete amazement I just bounced and slid on top of the water; I didn't even sink into it one bit. I touched the water to ensure that it had the properties of water, which it did. I tried to use my weight to force myself into the water but it simply didn't happen. I found myself on the surface and not even a bit wet. So I stood up and started walking. Within seconds I fell because the surface was extremely slippery. I tried a few more times, managing to stay upright for mere moments before toppling once again. Eventually I gave up and decided to do what penguins do - belly slide. It was definitely the most fun I've had for a while. On that surface I experienced little to no friction and I just kept on sliding. Eventually this dream world started to fade and became more and more blurred.

      I woke up and sighed.

    14. Advanced Task of the Month - September

      by , 09-08-2011 at 04:53 PM
      Advanced task completed.

It was a few minutes past 2am and I felt tired so I turned off the lights and fell asleep.
Moments later I was wide awake and in my living room and it was sunny outside - this obviously came across as a strange phenomenon because from my perspective, it felt like I had just fallen asleep only a few seconds ago. I was a bit confused so I walked around the room a little bit whilst fidgeting with something in my hands. As my thumb brushed my index finger, a bright crimson spark formed. I was speechless... (well.. I wasn't speaking in the first place). I concentrated and tried to reproduce that same effect again but to no avail. I clapped my hands together and a bright spark formed again. After a few minutes of trying and failed so I starting clenching my fists in frustration. Then I felt a searing pain between my fingers. I was suprised to see that my right palm was charred. I was suddenly hit by a thought - "Have I somehow learned how to generate fire at will? ... Nah don't be ridiculous, if I could then how come I can't do it now?" After a while I thought about the fire triangle (a model for understanding the basic ingredients of fire - which is fuel, heat and oxygen). I realised that everytime I generated a spark, it was caused by friction (the act of rubbing my fingers together) or when I absorb kinetic energy. After realising this, I snapped my fingers as well as I could and thought "IGNITE" at the same time and a huge pillar of flame erupted outwards, seemlingly from nowhere, and tore a gigantic whole through the walls of my living room. Normally, seeing my house reduced to this sort of state would cause me to go mental but for some reason I couldn't stop smiling. I felt pretty happy with myself.

Now this part I found very peculiar because it felt as if I was in the dream for weeks on end when I woke up. Now back to the story:

After what felt like weeks of "training," a notion just randomly popped into my head - By rubbing my fingers together, I was actually manipulating the concentration of oxygen in the air surrounding, raising its density to a level at which it becomes combustible and creating narrow pathways of oxygen through which I can direct the ensuing flame birthed by the spark. So I was in fact controlling both fire and air, as these elements are so intertwined.

I can't really remember what happened after I had this idea in chronological order. For some reason I was at Mt. Rushmore (where the faces of several US Presidents are sculpted onto the cliff-face) at sunset out of the blues a ninja with glowing eyes started attacking me.

He moved towards me in order to strike me with his sword. I barely managed to get out of the way. As I snapped my fingers he waved his sword briefly and stopped me from creating a fire. So all I could do was try to dodge his attacks. I felt the gust of wind caused by the insanely fast motion of the sword everytime it approached me. The quick slashing of his sword must be changing the air current, disrupting the ignition reaction. I felt scared... I couldn't manipulate the air's composition when its constantly in flux. Even if I managed to pull off a flame, it wouldn't have any accuracy. He moved in once again, this time for the killing blow. I crouched and placed my hands firmly on the ground beneath me and started melting it. Almost instantaneously, the ground ahead of me became a an unstable molten mass and he sank right into it.

The next thing I knew, I was in my bed and it was morning.

    15. 3 lucids one night! :)

      by , 09-05-2011 at 10:28 PM (Yuppie's Dream Journal)
I'm in my parents room, and somehow I become lucid! I walk into my kitchen and see my family. I wake up pretty much.

I'm in office kind of place, and this girl britanny who I dislike, is being extremly irritating. I finally shout out "Why are you being so weird today!?" She shrugs, and then it hits me. "unless I'm dreaming" I say, smiling.
I do a reality check, and I become lucid! Britanny's definetely not happy, "I don't want you to become lucid ever again" She says seriously, in a creepy deep voice. I remember TOTM! I see all these people on chairs working at their office. I repeat to myself "I'm the master of my dreams, I'm in control" I do a hand movement, and shout "yaaaah!" and a massive burst of wind knocks all these people off their chairs!" I laugh. I wake up.

I'm in my back yard, and me and some random are running down to the house next to me, every time we get there, these little native people try shooting us with arrows! We do this several times, and finally this massive dog thing comes out! Starting to attack me! I become lucid when it does, and I smile. I start flying in the air, and kicking it. and my dream starts getting a bit furry. I stopped time, which I thought was really cool, and stabalized! I consider killing it, with time stopped, but I remember TOTM and decide to use fire! I unstop time, and it starts charging at me, I launch off the ground, and try to throw fire out of my palms, no success! D:
I click my fingers, and my hand lights up weakly. I thrust it into the huge dog's eyes, and it shrieks in pain. It lies wounded on the floor, and I fly higher, Put my hands on top of each other, and focus, my hands start to feel warm, I let excitment fill through me, and charge a massive fire burst at the dog! It dissapears. I want to burn the house down, because our neighbours are terrible. I hear "Please don't burn our house down" But I don't really care, but while I'm hovering in the air (Kicking my legs to stay afloat) I realise I can't get fire
      I wake up!
