"Ninja Girl"

There is much of this dream that I do not remember. My earliest memory is being in some sort of building, with a couple of other people. I'm getting conflicting visions of the place being either a bar or some kind of industrial compound, but I'm not sure which is correct. Maybe both? Anyway, something happened, to where the building was overrun with armed thugs. They stormed the place, in seconds, and had completely corralled all of the hostages. Things were getting really intense, between all of us, when - from out of nowhere - this gorgeous ninja girl dropped in. She looked almost exactly like Kasumi, from Dead or Alive. I don't remember much of the fight, but she completely annihilated the entire group of thugs. A pair of sais; her weapon of choice.

She made her way quickly around the room, ending up at the last thug, who was directly in front of me. I don't remember if he had a hold of me or what, but the ninja girl basically just grabbed him and took him out, without missing a beat. Glancing right at me, she looked me over and gave me an, obviously interested, smile. She didn't stop to talk, though, and immediately jumped into the air, climbing the wall like a squirrel and flipping herself upside down to slide - feet first - up into the rafters. Perched on one of the beams, she dropped her eyes to me once again. Giving another cute little smile, she reached one hand up and blew me a kiss. She then slipped out of sight so quickly that I couldn't even see which way she went. Outside of the fact that she looked like Kasumi, I got the strong feeling I'd met her somewhere, but couldn't remember where. Shortly after this point, the dream transitioned into a flashback.

I was now in the role of the ninja girl, but a younger, teenage version of her. I was wearing traditional Japanese garb, and making my way home to a little house, which sat in the middle of a large field. Apparently, I'd just gotten done working with weapons, and was bringing mine and my father's sais back home. This part of the dream was very vivid, and I remember the sais in great detail. My father's sais were so heavy, that I had to carry them over my shoulder, and could not lift even one of them, with one hand. The steel felt so realistic, and they were wrapped in rubber grips and had family crests studded at the bottoms of the hilts. My sais were identical, but much lighter.

After what had seemed to be any normal day, I walked into the house to find that both my mother and father had been murdered. I believe it was the sound of heavy feet, but something tipped me off that the killers were still inside. I put down the sais and went to pick up one pair, grabbing my dad's, by mistake. I couldn't even lift one of them off of the table. Switching to my own pair, I sneaked to the doorway of the room the goons were in, and hid with my back against the wall, waiting. The footsteps got closer, and I saw the bladed end of a staff begin to emerge from the room. I was going to wait until the perfect time to strike, but the blade suddenly swung up in my direction, as if the attacker knew I was there. I took my chances and lunged, hoping to catch the man as soon as he stepped out, but he parried my sai with his staff, and knocked me off balance. Not yet an expert fighter, my movements felt awkward and insecure, and when I saw that there was actually more than one killer, I decided it would be best to try to escape while I could.

I bolted out the back door, running toward a neighbor's house, which had to have been a good half-a-mile away. I could just see it, across the field. I think I began to approach lucidity here, because, as I was running, I started thinking about how awkward it was that I was running with a pair of sais. My train of thought was derailed, though, when I heard a dirt-bike approaching me from behind. It was the two goons, and they were closing in on me quick. There was no way that I was going to outrun them, now. Still at a full sprint, I passed a tiny tree to my right, and made a sharp turn around it, just as the motorcycle zoomed by me. Instead of completely changing direction, though, I just ran around the tree, now behind the two murderers - who had hit the brakes to see where I'd gone. The first guy didn't have a chance to get off of the bike before I stabbed him in the back and side. The other gained some distance and then turned back to square off against me. Frantically, I threw one of the sais at him. I wasn't even sure if I thought it was going to do anything. But my aim was horrible. (Again, I was still getting that vibe that I wasn't comfortable with these sais. I know very few sai techniques in waking life, so they just suddenly felt alien to me.) The sai spun like a saw blade and hit the grass, a couple of yards in front of him, bouncing back upward and traveling toward his face. At the last moment, though, he swung his staff up and swatted the weapon away. One sai left, I rushed in toward him. I really don't remember this exchange, but it ended up with me stabbing him twice in the mid-section - having gotten my other sai back, during the skirmish - and holding him, painfully, up on his feet.

He coughed up blood, trying to tell me to just kill him and get it over with. I refused. I wanted him to suffer for what they had done. My fists still wrapped tightly around the handles, the long sai prongs skewering up through his insides, I walked him the rest of the way to the neighbor's house. I kept him on his feet, even when he wanted to quit, using all my remaining strength to support his weight with the steel that ran through him. There was at least one point where he said something that caused me to pull one of the sais out, and make a fresh hole through him with it. Can't remember what that was, though.

We ended up reaching the front porch of the house, but my memory then skips ahead, back to the present. I was "myself" again. Apparently, though, some time had passed, and I was now friends with this ninja girl - whose life I had just previously lived (though, at this point in the dream, I had no knowledge of having done that). I remember us driving around in a car, and she was telling me about something. I don't remember what she was saying, though...

2. Scary Slideshows, Strange Games, and Elves In My Basement

by , 11-11-2010 at 02:45 PM
1. Someone projects images of creepy-crawlies all over my walls, and won't let me leave.

2. I can change my curtains by selecting an image on my computer.

3. I'm playing a very strange Mario-meets-Metal-Gear-esque game where Snake has to find and destroy an evil spinning top within a certain amount of time.

4. My friends and I are exploring a bunch of secret doors in my basement, which lead even further down to a fancy bathroom with a bunch of elevators in it. We get into one of them and end up in an elf-village that resembles a casino. There's a currency system where regular coins won't let you play the games, so you have to trade them for special ones by dancing. The leader of the elves kicks my friends out for being human, but for some reason, he allows me to stay. (At which point my alarm wakes me up)
3. Multi-view dreams

by , 11-11-2010 at 02:38 PM
Dream 1:
I had a dream I was on a helicopter ride over a river or marsh with some of my friends. The helicopter crashed and I was the only one to jump out into the river before it crashed. After making it to dry land, I collapsed and immediately started the dream over from the views of each of the passengers.

Dream 2:
I was at work at a large online corporation with several flaws in their website. I was upset that I didn't get the position in the Coding department so I broke the website several times by introducing special characters into the form fields. They ended up breaking the site very badly and I came up with a solution to fix it. After the site was fixed, I was sent back to the shitty position that i was originally hired from.

I then started to see the dream from someone else's point of view. The person who was trying to undo what I had done and get the site running. They had a slight chance of finding out who did it, but had no real evidence that it was in-house. After I received help from my previous-self, just a nobody who answered the phones, I took credit for the fix and got a raise. My previous-self got no recognition at all.

Dream 3:
My roommate lent her car to a friend who had recently totaled his car. He called from a bar, later in the day saying he was bringing the car home now. It was obvious he was drunk. My roommate was so angry that I received the brunt of her anger(this happens in real life, I get abused for something I had no part in). I was finally sick of all the abuse, told her, "it isn't my fucking fault" and moved out the next day.

My next part of the dream, I was someone who was trying to buy my roommates car from the cops after it was impounded. I remember asking many questions on how I could buy impounded cars or the locations of the auction sites. The cops said they were the same ones who pulled over some drunk kid and had to use excessive force on him. They then raided the house of my previous-self's roommate's house because there were drugs stashed under the driver's seat.
4. Three fragment-y type dreams

by , 11-11-2010 at 02:13 PM (Book of Dreams)
Preamble: IRL I'm in a consumer management class, and two days ago we had "mock interviews" and we had to dress up and it was this big grade and whatever. We weren't actually interviewing for a real job, but the interviewers were from real companies.
Dream 1: My gym teacher is reading my fitness card, and her eyes grow wide.
"Woah," she says.
"What?" I reply. I have never seen her make a face with emotion before.
"You got the job! Your interview was so good that they're actually offering you a job."
I feel a sense of accomplishment. I know I did a good job, but I did not expect to actually get offered a position. This is great! But do I really want to work at a bank?

Dream 2: This is just a fragment. I'm in a house, and my friend Chris is there, but he's evil or something. I honestly don't remember a lot about this dream. But I remember that Chris' dog, CJ (who's actually my friend Laura's dog) is with us, and she's on the brink of attacking. She makes me nervous, and I want to get rid of her.

Dream 3: IRL I bought an xbox 360 last weekend, but I haven't told my brother because he's obsessed with video games and if he knew we had it, I'd never see it again.
In the dream, I walk down into the basement and my brother is playing the xbox. (wtf? why is it an option to put in a dancing banana??) I know that now I'll have to start hiding it so that he doesn't steal it from me. "No, Tommy," I say as I turn off the system, "this is mine. I didn't tell you about it because I didn't want you to take it. You can use it, but not all the time. I bought it with my own money." He get's up and the look on his face is a mixture of horror and deep sadness. D:

5. My Eye

by , 11-11-2010 at 12:45 PM (My poisoned mind O_o)
After spending much time away from the internet I finally return
This is a creepy dream, and naturally at the time I didn't really have anything wrong with it, I thought it was kinda cool.

My right eye is in my mouth, I look for some water to put it in cause I don't want it to dry out. I'll get some help about what to do afterward but first that water.
I find what I'm looking for fill it at the tap and spit the eye into it. I notice the eyeball has 2 pupils/iris, curious. And some other bits but I don't really notice them. No idea what they were.
I'm talking to someone. I say "Hey" and I get the reply "なくなちゃった!" This means approximately "you lost it!" in this circumstance. It's Japanese making this the first time I can remember that I've dreamed anything in Japanese. I open that eyelid a bit in front of them and they complain, but I notice I can still see a bit with it, so I assume part of the retina is still present, which doesn't seem to fit what I saw when I spat it out. But I don't know enough about this kind of thing. I'm a bit upset that it's gone yet I don't really care.

Upon waking I was a tad disappointed in discovering the continued presence of my right eye, then decided it's probably for the best as I regained sense.
In retrospect if I had payed more attention to the oddity of the retina still being there then I ma have been able to go lucid, but otherwise very un-lucid.

6. Reading in mansion

by , 11-11-2010 at 12:38 PM
Good morning, everybody.

Dream #1

I was in the backseat of a car full of people, probably women ranging from my age down to about 13. The driver may have been one of the girls' mothers, and she may have acted as a mother-figure for me as well.

I think I was going to an airport. But since I had a little time before I had to catch my flight, I was going to walk through the cemetery first.

A couple of girls had gotten out of the car to let me out. The car was a big, wide, 1970s-style sedan, probably pale beige colored. We stood in a dusty parking lot that felt like it was in the middle of a construction area, like for a small business park that was just being constructed.

I was now in a tall mansion, up in a room on the second or third floor, reading. I sat in a big, heavy wood chair at a big, heavy table made of dark wood. The room was small, crammed full of all kinds of books. The floors were probably some kind of dark wood. A decent amount of daylight came in through a window.

I looked up to see that one of the women (whom I recognize as a woman who works at a bookstore I frequent in waking life) was sitting across the table from me, reading. I was surprised that she had come to read as well.

Now a couple other girls bustled into the room. They said it was time for me to go to the airport. We left the room. We walked down a tight, steep stairwell.

I kept trying to ask the woman what book she had been reading. But the other women kept dissuading me, as if we didn't have time for me to ask such a question.

We were now outside the mansion, walking down a tight, narrow, stone staircase that ran from the porch, down a steep hill of lawn and past a tall stone wall, down to the curb where our car was.

As we descended beyond the stone wall, we passed a few cluttery stacks of old-looking books. I may have heard the woman who had been reading with me telling me (through telepathy?) things about the book she had been reading. Either she or I had been reading a book having something to do with Irish culture, possibly the Celtic aspect of it.
7. Chess, cars and a water pump bar

Chess, cars and a water pupm bar. (Non-lucid)

NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

One dream.

There were a few DC with me and one friend. For some reason, I was prosecuted and I needed to play and win a chess game. The pieces were huge and I needed to attack with my horse.

I left this chess game and I went to a bar. The bar was well illuminated and it was square. The barback was surrounded with big sculptures of Viking women with huge jars of beers. I was with a DC who said it was beer day. Other DC said that she would be happy if there was a water day.

I left this place and the scenery changed. I was a blue car that was chased by the police. It was odd because it was in first person, but I was not myself but a blue car with life. I saw a circuit with a flag at the end. I needed to get to the flag to scape from the police.

Another scenery change brought me to my wife. She was mad with me for no reason so I left her and changed the scenery again.

It was very sunny and I wore a red shirt. I saw a different bar who had water pumps and you would get very wet in there. I felt like taking a splash in there but I did not want to wet my shirt.

9. Dissolving Into Space Time

by , 11-11-2010 at 03:57 AM
It's been awhile since I had a real lucid. Yesterday it started off with me getting a bedtime visit from my demon. There are some really beautiful memories from that lucid dream that I would love to paint if I get the chance.

Last night I was lucid most of the time, but I also forget a lot of it, due to sleeping aids and such. At one point I remember flying around searching for a friend of mine that I really wanted to see. I realized that shouting their name wasn't going to get me anywhere, so I attempted to try the linear acceleration technique to see if I could enter their dream (has worked in the past). But this time it was different. The actual process of the flight was so much more real, it felt hyperreal...and I attempted to accelerate to a speed that was as fast as I could possibly go.

I like the idea of ripping through the fabric of space time to enter another person's dream. But this time, when I hit my limit, which was at or around light speed (I think), something different happened. I didn't rip through anything and wind up in a new dreamscape...instead I felt my body...the tips of my fingers...began dissolving away...as though I was moving faster than light speed...and I was leaving molecules behind. It was so strange because it actually physically hurt. The tips of my fingers felt like they were dissolving away, or ripped off...and there was a stream of particles flowing behind them. It was happening all over my body, but my hands were out in front of me so I could see them slowing dissolving away as I reached my speed limit. I stopped accelerating because it was really painful, and I knew something was not right.

After I stopped accelerating, I just let myself float through the darkness of space and it took me a good five or ten minutes to recover. It felt like I was slowly pulling myself, my particles, back together. I was absolutely exhausted, my brain was hurting a lot, and my heart rate was up. But I couldn't wake up or move, not because of sleep paralysis, but only because I did not have the energy to.

Imagine being in a lucid dream...and realizing you don't have the energy to wake up? It was so strange, I've never experienced anything like it. I don't think I will try that technique again. Even for awhile after I woke up I didn't feel right. I was completely drained. Literally had to roll out of bed. I'm starting to wonder if I was ripping my astral body away from my physical body or something...but in a way that...was somehow bad.

Also, I noticed that while I was accelerating my brain was vibrating really strongly at the crown. The top back...I could feel those neurons firing like crazy (I guess that's what it means when you feel vibrations). So it could be connected to the crown chakra (which I think is your bodily entrance/exit point)...or to a certain area of the brain that was firing at the time.
10. November 10 - Snowy Caves

by , 11-11-2010 at 02:54 AM
The dream starts off with me and one of my friends sitting on the ground outside of a school I don't recognize. However, it's a relatively small school and I do recognize that's it's not one that I've ever seen before. While we sit outside in the grass in silence, my mother suddenly appears and tells me to go pull up the car for her. I'm upset with her for a while because I was quite enjoying the aspect of remaining lazy, but my friend offers to go with me and so we go.

I don't actually remember walking through the school, but we are soon exiting into the other side, which seems to be sort of like the interior part of the grounds. Although I don't recall it having snowed in my dream, this whole area is covered in it. However, this is not where the car seems to be parked. To get to the car, we are required to go through these series of mazes within a cave. Before we go through the mouth of the beginning of this cave, a guy about my age appears and offers my friend and I a jacket if we allow him to accompany us. Seeing no harm in the matter, we allow him to do so. We put the coats on, and even though I had not noticed a temperature before, we seem to be much warmer with the newly added garments.

It seems to take us a while to get through the caves, although we never seem to get lost. Finally we come across my mom's car sitting alone inside a wide open area of the cave. Strangely enough, the guy who traversed with us suddenly attacks us. As we fight with him I ask him why he was doing so, but I can't recall the answer he gave me. My friend helps me to overpower this guy, and we quickly jump int car and drive off. As soon as we return into the maze of caves to make our way to the outside, I instantly am pulled from my dream and I'm awake.
11. don Juan fucks with me

by , 11-10-2010 at 09:13 PM (The Nomad Chronicles)
I get up to go to the bathroom.

In the semidarkness, I see a strange reflection of an Indian man... don- I turn. There is no one there. I look at my hands. They look like vines. What a weird dream. I do a nose pinch RC in the mirror. I start to cough and hack out rotten leaves. Ok, this is really weird. I walk away from the mirror. "Epic nose pinch RC fail," my reflection says. I run back to the mirror. My reflection is breathing through his nose with his hand pinching it. He starts bobbing his head to silent dubstep.

"WTF IS THAT?"

The wave of the future BEEYOTCH! SILENT MUSIC! PURE SUBSONIC!

My reflection is in SOHO dancing to silent dubstep.

The music comes ripples the mirror.

don Juan is now in the mirror, on an African plain. The elephants are communicating subsonically. He charades turning a volume knob on his ear. I turn my Babelfish on. I can hear the subsonic waves! The elephants are singing. They are talking about space travel. They say Earth is actually a biological space ship. We are only in a stationary orbit relative to the Sun. It's the Sun's orbit that's important, because it will take us to the other side of the galaxy eventually.

The elephants say we are fools.

A lion tries to attack a baby elephant. The mother elephant grabs the lion around the neck, and steps on its head and trumpets. There is a war between the elephants and the lions.

Now, I am witnessing a space war between anthro elephants and lions. Focus on on dream.

don Juan and I are in my bathroom, standing in front of the mirror. We both look like ghosts. He is laughing heartily with his arm around my shoulders.

"Aha, nagual, you are so confused! Let me clear things up for you."

He wipes the mirror. It ripples. He grabs my hand, and sucks me through. The wormhole folds in on me. I am terrified. I feel claustraphobic. "You don't need to breathe in dreams!" I scream in my mind.

"I AM GOING TO WAKE UP, ASSHOLE."

"You can't, you are in delta sleep. If you wake up in ten seconds of waking life, it will be ten minutes of delta dreams. So, you got ten minutes to deal with your pansy ass claustraphobia. I scream and inhale the wormhole. I can't breathe. I cough out the wormhole. It's a ball of dark energy with a silvery metal folded in it. I swat it away like a fly. It bounces off the end of the universe, and comes back at me, a flaming rolling meteor enwreathed in black smoke. A devilish face speaks out of the meteor. "I am The Devil, I am Gawn, I am the father of the Zero God."

He speaks to me in a devillish growly guttural language. I morph into Deathgawn and crack my neck.

He puts a leash on my neck, and I morph into a hellhound. Gawn and I go through a portal. He tells me we are hunting for the ones who attack Asuka.

We are in a forest. I snuffle the leaves. They people smell sweaty and fearful. I salivate and growl. I open a portal, and leap through it, Gawn trailing.

We are in a large wooden lodge. There is a strange men's cult with an elk's head on the left side, and a boar's head hanging on the right. The men are wearing red robes with golden crosses on them. They have small red round hats on. They stage area looks like the stuff in a Catholic church.

Asuka is tied to a cross. They call her Mother Mary, Goddess of the New Moon. Asuka looks like she is trying to hide her fear with annoyance. The High Priest in the center says he is about to drink of Asuka's blood. He removes a hood to reveal MoSh. His eyes grow into swirls. I lunge at MoSh. He teleport-dodges. I moprh into my Shadow Beast Self, and shoot astral tentacles at him. As I touch him, I realize it's nothing like MoSh. It's not even sentient. I am confused. I look up at Asuka, and she is laughing at me. She seems to have no sentience, but...

Whose dream characters are attacking me?

I break out of the dream. It was shaped like a cyndrilical prism. I am in the Colloseum in the Outer Lands. MoSh and Asuka were creating a joined Consuming Illusion.

But, it's not them... it's projections my my mind? WHAT THE FUCK.

Then I am watching don Juan watching one of his dreams in his bathroom mirror. He is me in the dream. "Oh look at my silly dream characters. At least I am real!" He chuckles to himself.

I scream and punch the back of his head. My hand passes through.

"You can't do that on the astral plane," don Juan says.

"NOTHING IS REAL!" I scream in frustration.

"Exactly right. But, also, everything is. The only thing that does not exist is that which cannot be percieved. But, All has the power to concieve All, therefore, all is real. Also, Nothing is real, because you can conceive it. One day you may actually be able to perceive Nothing, but in this lifetime, it's really just an idea."

don Juan turns into a genie and disappears in a puff of smoke.

I am alone in the Sahara desert near the Great Pyramids.

"This is where it begins," I hear a voice from the clouds.

12. Tidal wave!

by , 11-10-2010 at 07:53 PM
Tidal Waves on the Island Shrine
Clarity: 7/10
Importance:4/10
Sleep: OK
Sleep Position: Right Side (Left Brain)
I'm on a small island when I notice it's inhabitants begin to panic. I look to see what's upset them, and see a giant tidal wave headed straight towards us! Oh shit! There's noting I can do but watch as it washes over the island. Luckily the water that covers the land is only knee deep, and I'm able to keep my footing as the water pummels my legs.

But it's not over yet, after the first wave there is another, this one bringing water up to my waist that tumbles me back before the waters recede once again. A third wave washes over us, this time the water is shoulder high, and everyone is forced to swim. Then the fourth and final wave hits us and drowns out the island completely. Everyone is swimming and treading water, and the current carries me and only me away, out to sea. I swim as hard as I can, but am carried away despite my best efforts.

I end up between two more islands, one with hills and one with more people and a school, and end up on the shores of the populated one. This island's inhabitants are fleeing into the school. That strikes me as a bad idea, but then I figure maybe not if we can get to the roof, so I follow them in.

Inside the school, there is a bank of televisions and computer monitors, like a small Imax wall. This bank of terminals becomes some sort of shrine under the care of Klinger from MASH. The center piece of the shrine is an immobilized woman, unmoving and unaging. Her eyes shine with magic, and there is a smoky ball darkness next to her, the evil force that keeps her trapped.

Klinger keeps this shrine clean, and is able to travel OBE style by staring into the woman's mesmerizing eyes.

13. Earthquake, 55-65 minutes

by , 11-10-2010 at 06:51 PM
I am in a city with my brother. The sun shines warmly. We go to a marketplace. I notice my brother has disappeared. The earth starts to tremor. There are some people running in the opposite direction.

The next thing I remember is being in a school where I haven't been before. I go searching for a class, number 320. I wander around the building for some time but just can't find it. Finally my teacher spots me. She says the lesson has already begun. I answer it's a little wonder as the door she's pointing at (class 320) has something completely different than 320 in it (something like g24). I go outside and follow a path that leads to a forested hill. There's a man with me. He's also a teacher. He has two dogs with him. I start playing with the dogs. The other dog attacks me from behind and bites my hand. Its owner tells him to go down.

"Aw, he raked your jacket"

I notice I have a bright green jacket on. I leave the hill. The earth starts to tremor again, this time more violently.

The next thing I remember is being in a cardboard box. It is big enough for me to sit in it comfortably. There are also pillows and blankets in it. I crawl out of my chamber in the box and find that there are other chambers in the box. My friend, also in the box says that she built it and it should protect us from the doomsdays earthquakes. There are also some others in the box system. We wait for the earthquake to stop. After it we emerge from the box. We are on a pillar of stone, about 20 metres high. The ground all around us is red. It looks like Mars. It is also snowing. A gigantic monster appears in front of us. It looks like an enormous snail, only with four heads full dagger-like teeth. I have now a huge sword in my hands, but it is almost too heavy for me to lift, let alone to slay the monster with it. I can only wave the sword powerlessly in front of it when it snaps at us. There is a large, muscular man next to me. He tells me to stab at the monster next time its head comes close. I do as he says. He grabs the sword from my grip and plunges it deep into the monsters throat and then cuts it head off. The monster dies. I look to the other side of the canyon (we are in the middle of it). There is an orc there. A dwarf that is with us says he wants to fight the orc. He yells at the orc. The orc says he accepts the challenge. It starts to walk in the air, towards us. The dwarf, encouraged by this, jumps off the pillar, but doesn't stay in the air like the orc but instead starts falling like a rock. The view changes into 3D. I follow the dwarf falling about 200 metres. When he is near the ground, the orc dives down and rescues him. When the orc lets him go, he also can walk in the air. I don't want the dwarf to fight because I fear he'd die. However, I forget about the dwarf and fly to the other side of the canyon. There is a wooden hut there. It has no walls in it so I fly in. There is a talking bird sitting in there. I get a feeling that he is a long-time friend of mine. There are also some other people there, also my friends, when the bird starts talking:

"I'm tired of this, tired of all this beguiling and deceiving, tired of hiding my friends my true form"

With these words, he pulls his heart out. I'm overcome by sorrow. I say that I'll send our friend to his last flight and throw him to canyon. After it I dive after him. In the bottom of the canyon there are other survivors and lots of press. I turn facing the sky just when I'm about to crash to the earth. I soar upwards, now with a newspaper in my hand. I read the headlines: 'A man kills his beloved bird companion'. I turn the page, and watch a map about the earthquake's havoc. The picture is moving, like those in Harry Potter, though this one is coloured. I see the earth swallowing thousands of square kilometres. I get back to the hut. That is my last memory from the dream.

I also had a short LD where I was searching for my brother (who disappeared in previous dream). I had gone back to our childhood but I wanted my brother as his older self so I decided to search him and make him grow up, so to say . I abandoned the idea soon as too complicated, though I don't know why I wanted to find my brother in a LD anyway.

I'm in a department store with my mom. I think there's a bike. There's no wall on one side of the store, and I stand at the edge of the floor and look down to the floor below. I think maybe I jump.

I'm walking down the sidewalk and I see a car, maybe a cop car, speeding around the neighbourhood. Then I see a guy come around the corner, I think he has a dog and he's wearing a military type jacket. His face is weathered and angry. I cross the street and rush to get out of his path. I'm pretty sure he's the reason I saw the cop car a second ago and if he sees me, he'll take me as his hostage. He might have a weapon, a machete maybe. (Reading the news before bed, read about a machete attack).

I got to see my mom, but she tells me she's busy or has plans, or made plans even though I went out of my way to come see her. I get really mad at her and start yelling at her and crying and calling her names. She sits down and laughs it off. She doesn't look like my mom. She has long, dark, wavy hair and a thinner face.

For a brief second, I'm watching a slideshow of the art that I look at in real life before I go to bed. Except the slideshow looks more like huge squares of images floating in front of me, not really coming from a particular source.

15. (11/10/10) - Back to Basics...and Minority Report!

by , 11-10-2010 at 06:17 PM (LiveInTheDream's DJ v2.5)
Well, you might have noticed I haven't posted in this DJ for about a month...this is because I've been kind of taking a hiatus from attempting to lucid dream. My success rates were ridiculously low, and I had the feeling it was because I had so many different methods in my head that I couldn't stick with just one, and I probably wasn't doing any of them correctly anyway out of a lack of motivation.

Basically, I'd lost my appreciation for lucid dreams because all of mine were a bunch of very hard-earned crap. I read back through some of the earlier entries of my DJ, when the concept of LDing was new to me, and I was kind of inspired by my enthusiasm from back then, so I figured I should just start over.

I had no real 'return date', just whenever felt right...and I guess that would be now, since I had a lucid dream after relearning MILD and focusing only on that method for a bit. However, it didn't quite succeed the first time, so I'll put down that non-lucid dream as well, for the sake of recall and finding more dream signs.

Dream 1: I was at work. It was a pretty normal day, except for a lot of little behavioral abnormalities in all my coworkers. The differences weren't big enough to make me realize I was dreaming, but they did get me thinking.

Then I went to stock some music that had just come in, and I noticed a poster that had a rather big difference: the band name didn't seem familiar at all. I recognized the album cover, but the name just wasn't right...although...I couldn't really...remember what the right name was anyway.

Suddenly this fact became like taking a blow to the head. I stumbled back, my vision suddenly fuzzy and dizzy. After a bit my confusion grew to the point where I couldn't remember that I was confused, and so all this ceased and I came back to.

Once my vision had cleared, I still couldn't recall the proper name for the band, but this time the name I was seeing sank in. The poster read: "The Lucid Dreamers"

Next thing I know, the dream has gone to me being on a train with a bunch of other people, and eating Pizza. I was annoyed that my sense of taste was so weak. I could taste the Canadian Bacon, but everything else was very bland, like a distant sound is to an ear.

Then I woke up.

Of course technically my MILD hadn't yet worked, but it sure had gotten me a long ways. I had seen and recognized differences in multiple senses and circumstances, and my mind was obviously thinking about lucid dreaming due to the poster. It happened to be early enough in the morning for me to go back to sleep and try again, so I wasted no time. I repeated my MILD a couple more times and was out once again.

Dream 2: The dream began with me as a soldier in a futuristic city that strongly resembled what you see in the movie Minority Report. I was part of a squad that was taking down a group of Koreans that had invaded the place. (no offense if you're reading this and you're Korean, of course, I just play Crysis from time to time) Suddenly, however, I realized something...I was in a sci-fi city, firing a weapon, and wearing a suit of armor. All of this was cited in my MILD as dream signs to watch out for.

I smiled to myself then, looked through the scope on my weapon, and picked off all of the remaining enemies as if I were an aimbot. Precision and accuracy was 100% all the way. I threw down my weapon then and flew up into the air to get a good look at the place. The thought occurred to me that I should reality check, but I decided against it.

"I already know that I'm dreaming, and usually if I nose-plug RC when I'm like this it wakes me up." I told myself as I glided over the vast expanse of the world.

Below me, everywhere I looked I saw cars speeding along multi-level highways, rotating 90 degrees and then plunging straight down to reach other levels when need be. All of the buildings they rushed in between were shiny and steel; cold, clean, and sophisticated.

It was also all fading away.

"No, this dream can NOT end now!"

I rubbed my hands together furiously, but things were still fading out. So I tried spinning then, still rubbing my hands together. The city only spun about me as it finally faded into blackness.

"Rats...I failed." I thought.

But after a few more moments, I still hadn't woken up. I looked around me again, and now I saw a grid of white dots everywhere in the blackness, increasing in clarity every second. I rubbed my hands together again, and one by one each of the white dots became a building, every one more detailed and clear than before. It wasn't long until the whole city was back, and I was ready to head out on an adventure.

Unfortunately, this is where my memory begins to fail me, thanks to the unpleasant way the dream ended. I just know that I did go on many adventures and they were thrilling and satisfying to say the least. The dream tried to fade out multiple times, but I was always able to bring it back without problem. Somewhere along the way, that girl from multiple previous dreams was back again and we went on a lot of the adventures together. It was great.

But then the dream transitioned, and although I was still lucid, I decided I was done for the night because those adventures had ended so well and I didn't want to mess up such a great ending by doing something else, so I allowed myself to become non-lucid again and just watch the last few minutes of the dream.

What a mistake that was!

I was still in the same city, but I walked home, and everything there was still normal, further convincing me I was not dreaming any more. Then I got a phone call from that girl I mentioned, and she said she had to see me. I told her to come on over, but it turned out she was already just outside my door .

"What is it?" I asked as I let her in.

"I just had my first lucid dream!" She exclaimed. "It was amazing...I know you've told me about them before, but I didn't realize how incredible it really is! I even wrote it down in a dream journal just like you said you do. Here, look!"

She handed me her dream journal and I read it. It was the lucid dream I had just been through, but all from her perspective.

"I know." I said, handing the journal back. "I had this same lucid dream!"

That really blew her away. She was so excited she hugged me, and I thought I'd never let go. But...then I got another phone call. It was another friend of mine, asking if he could talk to this girl. She took the phone, but I could hear the voice on the other side saying:

"That guy is a moron! I know you care about him, but I just need to warn you. He's seriously messed up. I've got his dream journal open on my computer right now; he talks about a lot of really weird stuff and he actually believes it. I'm telling you, he says he found a Dream Room and can enter other people's dreams, and there's even these posts about using self-hypnosis for lucid dreams, or the theory that ghosts are lucid dreamers..."

I couldn't have been more annoyed. Or scared. I saw tears enter the girl's eyes as she slowly sank against the wall and slid down to sitting on the floor, and I thought she might try to run away, so I sat down as well and put my hands on her shoulders so she'd look me in the eyes.

"I can explain everything!" I said. "He's twisting the truth to make me sound crazy! I promise!"

The tears receded, but she didn't seem fully convinced, since she kept listening to this guy verbally murder every aspect of my reputation.

I woke up in a sweat and with my heart pounding...for a moment I still was afraid that that relationship was in danger, but of course I quickly realized I had woken up and all of it was not a real problem.

But aside from the unpleasant awakening, I'm quite happy with this MILD technique! I think I'll focus on it for a while longer now and see what I can do
