1. Long Drop 12/16/10

by , 07-11-2011 at 02:24 AM
12:00 AM

I was mountain biking along. Past a golf course in and headed down a dirt road(recurring location) and came out above a lagoon(also a recurring location though it takes different forms outside the west side of my childhood hometown.)

I was standing under some trees on some healthy green grass and off to my right was a tall waterfall that fed the lagoon about 100 feet below. I was trying to retrieve a time capsule(recurring?) Anyway I knew it was buried next to the cliff but I was bound to get it. The ground started to give way and as I started to slip I dug my left arm into a hole and stopped. So there I was stuck with my arm stuck in a hole and trying not to slip. I could see that my fall wouldn't end well on the boulders below...
2. misstep; aliens leaving craft

by , 06-27-2011 at 11:21 AM
Good morning, everybody.

Dream #1

A woman stood in a field of grass. The grass may have gone up to the woman's knees, though it may actually only have gone up just past the woman's ankles.

The woman was pretty and young, with long, black hair. She may have been wearing a grey dress. She wore black, ankle-high boots.

The woman stomped one foot against the ground. There was a loud click on the ground, as if the woman had stomped on wood, or as if two wood blocks had beat together.

I had the thought, "A misstep in no direction."

Dream #2

Two aliens stepped out of the doorway on the underside of a silvery flying saucer. They stood out and looked over some landscape: either a field of tall, green grass or an atmosphere of hazy red and orange.

The two aliens wore shimmery, metallic outfits. Their helmets were tall and cylindrical, like huge toilet paper rolls painted silver. The helmets had two glowing, orange dots, side by side, on the front. The dots were either eyeholes or actual eyes.
3. concrete.

by , 05-24-2011 at 02:39 AM (a teahouse inside my head.)
I was talking with people in my grade about driving to school (our brand new privilege). I went to sign out on the sign out sheet (which was in some type of garden, sitting in bright green dewy grass). Then I was in the hallway of the church my school rents rooms from for english and history classes, but the hallway looked like one of the classrooms. Gabe and Max R. (I don't want to put the full name, but since there are two Max R.'s, so I know in the future, NOT CURLY HAIRED YOYO MAX) and other boys were talking about some gross driver's ed movie (the kind they use to make you scared of accidents) called "Concrete" (which is funny because the real one we watch in California is called Red Asphalt). Gabe insists that it is actually called "Santa".

Tiny bit of precog (it's a little bit of a stretch) but we talked about asphalt in history class today.

4. The Meeting

Non-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

I'm in a long, rectangular yard with a lawn, behind a building. I find myself flying backward over the grass. Recognizing the familiar dream occurrence, I mentally grab hold of the situation and wrench my movement into my conscious control. First, I start to fly forward, and then I just land and start walking across the grass toward the building, just because I'll have better and more reliable control that way. As I walk, I say something along the lines of, “If it gets me there faster, I'll just walk.”

Inside the building, I walk through several rooms until I find one that contains a table and a bunch of people.
[I think they were people I know in real life, but I'm not sure who.] We all sit down around the round table and have a meeting. [I don't remember now what we talked about, but we were all talking about something.] During the meeting, I focus on staying in the present moment, paying attention to it, because I want the dream to go on for as long as possible. It works, for a bit, but then I start thinking, I wonder how much REM time I have left? I don't want to wake up. Of course, the dream starts to collapse and I find myself waking up shortly after thinking about that.

---------------------
Side notes:

I achieved this MILD by focusing intently on my feelings of intention and desire to have a lucid dream, mostly without thinking in words, and for a sustained period of several minutes. When I did think in words, they were, Lucid dreaming is easy. Everyone can do it, even me. I had this dream after several nights in a row without any dream recall at all, which made those feelings of intention and desire particularly intense and easy to focus on.
5. Awesome Dream Sign Recognition and Further Attempts to Walk Through Stuff

by , 03-13-2011 at 04:58 PM (The Lab Notebook)
Awake, Non-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

I'm on a dark ride at Disneyland. When I concentrate on the images that are moving vertically in front of me, I can accept and maintain the optical illusion that traditional animation is taking place right there in the space in front of me on the ride.

Later, I'm in a dream version of Disneyland's Haunted Mansion. This version is two-story and walk-through, with a large, rectangular open space in the center of the house where you can see the walkway that runs in front of the entrances to the second-floor rooms. I think,
They've redone this entire place again? It's actually this realization that makes me aware that I'm dreaming. I've dreamed about this attraction many, many times before, and it's different every single time, so if I'm on yet another new version, I must be dreaming. I continue to make my way through the house, being scared [in the good way] by some of the ghosts that jump out at me.

I somehow end up in the landscaped outdoor area around what appears to be a shopping mall. I look at my hands and see that they look normal
[I've been doing this a lot in reality lately], but don't lose lucidity. I'm pleased to find that the dream is stable, my dream self feels real and normal, and that I'm not aware of my real body at all. I then remember my current personal dream goal and decide to start trying to walk through a wall. I see the orange-tan-colored outer wall of some restaurant and think, Maybe it'll be easier to go through if I don't know in advance what's supposed to be on the other side. [I don't even know.] I don't end up going through it, though. [If I attempted to, I don't remember it now.]

While walking around the outdoor area, I touch a metal hand rail and find that it feels real. I also try to walk through a low, rectangular concrete wall intended for seating, but it's just as real and solid to me as it would be in reality. [I think I just haven't fully convinced myself that I can walk through things like a ghost yet.]

I continue walking and find a small, amphitheater-like concrete area where there are big concert speakers set up, playing hip-hop or rap music. Facing the speakers is a picnic table with a bunch of teenagers sitting on it, all of whom are really into the music. One girl, however, is sitting on a bench off to the side by herself, reading a book. On the opposite side of the table from the speakers is a grassy lawn. Fifty or so yards away at the other end of the lawn, a live rock band is playing on another stage. I think it's kind of sad that the poorly-designed setup of the area, with the big speakers so nearby, means that no one is paying the band any attention. [What is it with me and rock concerts in my dreams lately? I don't have any plans to go to one in reality.] I think about talking to one of the teenagers there, but [for some unknown reason] decide not to.

The back of my left thigh started to itch, which made me aware of my real body again, which caused the dream to dissolve. I scratched it, now awake and disappointed at the interruption.

6. First Lucid Dream - Saturday, August 27-28th, 2010

Fisrt Lucid Dream (DILD)

NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I have no log for this dream, because it was so long ago.

The dream starts in a green, grassy park, sourrounded by giant mountains and tall trees all around me. I was with Walker, Hannah, and Izzie and we were all hanging out. I became lucid all of the sudden and it wasn't intense, but it was sudden. The reaosn i became lucid was because someone mentioned flying, and i snapped to attention. When i started looking around, being so detail oriented already, i knew i had to examine something, so i immediately crouched down to the ground and picked a blade of grass. I looked it over and i was smiling with joy as i took in the vivid detail and i was ecstatic with happiness. I was still not lucid enough to realize that my friends were dream characters, soi was talking to them. I told them that this was a dream and that they needed to stay calm. As i kept trying to tell them to stay calm, they ran away, causing me to be ever so slightly frustrated with them, causing me to disregard my own advice. And as soon as that happened, the dream was over.
7. 3 old, half remembered dreams.

by , 08-03-2010 at 08:27 PM (Dreams of the Maeniac)
1. Undated, quite old.
I'm in some park-like place. An open spot with grass and trees around it. I grab a branch from a tree. With the branch, I am able to swing up and grab hold of another, higher up branch. At the end, I have a branch that swings me around as if I was wearing a pilotable parachute. My old teacher tells me I shouldn't do it, it's too dangerous.

2. Undated, quite old; after watching The Dark Knight, I was really fascinated by the Joker, so that's the cause of the Jokerfication of my dreams.
I'm in a big store, they sell DVDs, there's a whole bunch of posters with the Joker on them. People are dressed up as the Joker, too. Want to buy The Dark Knight.
A little girl aged around 2 to 4 in a pink [missing word] pokes me on the shoulder (How she does this, you ask?) She says, roughly translated "You may" / "You can" / "You're allowed to", something like that. (Du må godt.)
She points to the exit, she ants me to go somewhere. I follow her to some trees and bushes. There's an army of cats, she wants me to read some little piece of paper on the ground where the cats were. It says something stupid, something starting with G but making no sense.
I take the girl up on my shoulders and carry her back. Walk the wrong way at first... "Y'know, this is really weird... Because... (Exhausted) I don't... Usually do this"
Walk back around and find the right way. Meet K on the way, I put the girl down when I get into the store. Felt weird but made me feel sort of proud...

3. Undated; again with the Joker...
I'm in a place that looks like a bank from a movie. The color themes are something like dark wood and gold everywhere. First I fistfight some guards or whatever, then I get a shotgun and have an epic shootout "scene" where I kill a few of them. I hide behind a counter while fighting another guy with a shotgun.
I'm fighting a guy and a lady with katanas. We move up on a table and fight there. The whole thing is very movie-like, and I'm the villain. I cut the lady and grab her from behind, using her as a shield from the guy. The two are lovers. I tell the guy he has to choose between me killing the lady, or him killing us both. He tries to kill us both, but I move out of the way just in time and then we fight on. We move out to the streets, I severely injure him. I try to make him give up by giving him the The Reason You Suck-speech. At the peak of hopelessness, he turns the situation around by saying something epic that I have forgot, but it seemed to hint that both he and his lover would survive. I laugh it off while laying on a sidewalk, wet (We had jumped into some water below a bridge at one point aswell.) I tell him I do hope he meets his lover again, I actually have nothing against him. He walks off. I do that weird thing the Joker does with his mouth in The Dark Knight and then I let myself fall asleep on the sidewalk.

8. Running with the wolves

by , 07-17-2010 at 01:49 PM (Hidden's Dream Journal)
In case anyone was wondering, no one is online at 5:30am in the middle of the summer. I wonder why that is.

It was dark, and I was next to a field of tall grass. Knowing there was a pack of wolves in there, I nervous, but I went in the grass anyway and started leading the pack. I had to keep moving and be careful so they wouldn't turn on me.

I dove out of the grass and into a tent in the nearby forest, where my fellow campers were staying. There was something in the forest that would have attacked us if we hadn't gotten in the tents soon enough.

Scene change. I was hiking through a desert-like area, and it was really bright. There were a whole bunch of nets and ladders between various pillars made of red stone. We started climbing, which was scary. The nets were triangle-shaped, so there wasn't much to hold onto at the top. Luckily my dad was able to help by pulling me up the rest of the way.

So I'm standing on this brownish, somewhat slippery/crumbly/sandy stone about 20 or 30 feet off the ground, when I notice there's a giant lava geyser right next to the pillar. First it sprayed up a stream of purple stuff, then it burst into flames. Despite the hot, intimidating stream of lava spouting up right next to me, I was most worried about falling off the edge and going splat.

Dang, why can't the dreams I'm having now be this intense? I found that old dream while going through my school stuff. One day I got really, really bored in Spanish class, and I happened to remember a dream, so I wrote it down on a random page. I'm surprised I can still remember the details of it as clearly as I do.
