    1. The Weird One Returns

by , 10-08-2012 at 11:35 PM (The Weird One Returns)
      October 8th 2012

      3:00 AM to 9:00 PM; 9:10ish AM to 10:00 ish = ~6 hours and 50
      minutes

I found my old DJ format... Took me forever to work how to salvage it. Let's get the dreams rolling!

      Flight[LQ]
The moment I really opened my eyes and took a look around... a man in an old samurai kimono stood before me. The sky was a blazing azure... and the ground before me nothing more than sparse clouds groomed into notable pathways.

From the moment he spoke, the
timbre of his voice sent me lucid.

"Do you know how to fly?" He smiled at me.

It was getting chilly, windy... Before I could answer I gave it thought. In theory I knew how to do everything. Noticing this he sighed, "then let's give you wings."

With that the segment I stood upon vanished and I plummeted. I was ecstatic. I remembered briefly someone who used to say that dream entities could teach us things.

I took control of the wind before, falling too far down into the endless blue, only to wake up as I hit the level of flight he wanted me to.

      Alarm went off...

      Adventure Time
The world had taken a very strange turn. Essentially the world had taken a Steampunk-Adventure Time-Revolution feel to it. I was apart of the rebel group alongside my best friends, Jake, Fin, and a few other people.

The government patriarch was against me. The others fled ahead to a safe house that had a very Eastern-Western fusion to it.

Night had fallen and I had finally gotten a pack of men off my tail. I had a sword on me as I slid into the trap door of the house.

Nothing had been very interesting, but for some reason my Wfiey had been edging me to talk to Jake... because he was supposedly very handsome and interested in me. Rule one about me--don't try to force me into things. I retaliate.

Rather than approach him and at least be a good comrade--since we were on the same side afterall--I blatantly ignore him as I catch up with Fin and everyone else on what we should do next since I had unfortunately not left unnoticed. The government wanted me caught and brought to their leader.

There then cuts to a random part where I'm tackling my old roommate to the ground and we're friends again. Rolling around, laughing and playing. All was well until we were sitting there calming down from laughing and I knew that this wasn't real... that there would never be a day where she would stop hating my guts and we'd be civil, maybe even friendly again...could we? I get up and walk away... a bit confounded by things.

Eventually I was forced to interact with Jake, he knew a thing or two about guns and propulsion designs. We actually got along really well, and up until the soldiers came in and made the night a blood bath, all was at ease.

Heavily influenced by my day... Lots of details unfortunately forgotten though. Didn't have my notebook on me. And my writing is stiff... ick

    2. Always Running from Something... 8-24-2011

      by , 08-26-2011 at 11:48 PM
Sean and I were walking up the main road of the trailer court, dressed in some sort of light armor and carrying small weapons. We were levels 6 and 7, but I don't remember who was which level (I have the feeling he was higher than I, as he is in most games we play together...). We were wandering around, nonchalantly searching for something to do, a new quest or something. We passed by two other people at the front of the trailer court who were also dressed in armor.
"Hey, more newbies! Maybe we could travel together!" one of them said. I think they were levels 3 or 4.
"No, Sean said quickly, and kept walking. We already had other high-level characters on other accounts, like in WOW, so we knew what we were doing and didn't want to be held back by new people... I think we were also enjoying our time being alone together, even though all we were doing was wandering around...
The other two decided to follow us anyway, so Sean and I started sprinting down the street, trying to get away from them . We turned onto the bike path and slowed down a bit, thinking we lost them. Somehow Sean was suddenly on a bike, riding slowly while I walked beside him. We were just casually talking again, but when we looked back we saw the other two had also turned onto the bike path to follow us, both on their bikes. We picked up our pace a little bit, but I could only go so fast in armor.
"We could go faster if I could get on your bike with you," I told Sean. He was stubborn though, and kept swerving his bike so I couldn't climb on. I don't think he really cared whether the other two caught up or not. "Come on, please?" I begged. "They're going to catch up to us!" He still wouldn't let me on. He pedaled yet faster so I had to jog to keep up. I started to sweat. I looked back, and the other two were still really far behind us. I kept bugging
Sean to let me on his bike, so finally he did. He had a basket somehow on the back of his bike, really low to the ground, into which I put the backpack I suddenly had; then I stood on the basket and held onto his shoulders as he pedaled. He continued riding very slowly, though.
"Why are you riding so slowly?" I asked him annoyedly.
"Because there's too much weigh ton the bike," he replied matter-of-factly. I frowned at the back of his head, huffed, and got off.

A little while later, the two behind us had disappeared, and then I had a bike of my own. Sean and I were slowly passing by a large blacked house that was hidden behind tall weeds and trees to our left. We could see through the foliage that there was a semi trailer parked next to the house, its open back facing us. There were a lot of men buzzing around te house and the trailer, many carrying heavy crates and boxes into the trailer and going back into the house, only to come back out with more heavy loads. There may have been people inside the crates... Sean and I wondered whether our missing friend was in one of those crates.
We decided this was our next quest, to scope this house out and rescue anybody inside the crates. Sean jumped off his bike and let it slide into the weeds, then helped me hide my bike in the weeds nearer to the house. Then we snuck through the weeds and down the hill to get closer to the house. We were noticed by a few of the men almost immediately, and they began their pursuit of us. Instead of running away we ran closer to the house and to the right, away from the semi trailer. We tried to find an unlocked door, but the only ones that were unlocked were too dark to see inside. We chose to run into a dark room anyway; it was pitch black inside, and I almost immediately slammed into a tower of crates and boxes... I believe I was beginning to wake up at this point... the dream rewound a bit because I knew that crashing into the boxes would hurt too much, and I would not escape the men chasing us. So it rewound until we were back at the door and I was running in again - the light flashed on and suddenly it was bright as day in there. I avoided the crates and ran to the back wall where there was another closed door, with shovels and rakes propped up against the wall next to it. We ran back to try the door, but it was locked, so I grabbed the first weapon I could - a snow pusher...Sean and I had our backs to the wall as the men ran in after us. There were three of them - The skinny, young-looking Asian man in a grey hat ran towards me, in which case I shoved the snow pusher square at his chest. However, it was too soft, and I wasn't strong enough to do anything but pause his advance for a moment. He grabbed it by the handle, shoved it down, and lunged at me again. This time I kicked out at him, toe up, heel out, using the wall behind me to support myself and power my foot forward. That only sent him back a step, so I punched him in the face. Then I kicked again, and punched again, and kicked again... he tried to hit me once, put I slapped his arm away and punched again. Punch, kick, punch, kick... Everything was in slow motion. The man was a terrible fighter, I noticed. He hardly even tried. Next to me, Sean was halfway-wrestling a long-haired man who reminded me of Liam Nieson, and I couldn't see the third man but I heard him laugh. He sounded like my friend Cody.
I was still stuck up against the wall, with the Asian man continuing his attempt to grab me while I punched and kicked him. We were at a standstill. I began to realize how odd this was, that these men were so slow. All I had to do was keep this up and he would not be able to get me, but I would not be able to get away either. I had to break the cycle and find a way out... I kicked my leg out again
      - and woke up with a start as my leg made contact with the mattress and caused my bed to shake. I was face-down in my pillow...

I thought maybe if I don't move anymore and kept trying to imagine the dream scene again, the Asian man in front of me, his nifty hat, the long-haired man next to him... maybe I could fall back to sleep, maybe even have a lucid dream... But I could hardly picture the dream anymore. I knew it was already late morning and I was too awake from the jolt to fall back to sleep for a while. So I got up.

I realize that I'm beginning to question the oddities in my dreams more often, but I have yet to have another lucid dream after the first accidental one.

    3. A quest of sorts / All dreamers can fly

      by

My recall for this night is rather fragmented.

I am in Italy on vacation. For some reason I am trying to rent some kind of special room to hold a big dinner and invite a lot of friends.
Then I remember that I'm on vacation, so my friends are actually far away, but somehow I don't consider this an issue...

... I'm having said dinner, however I'm on some kind of cruise ship.
After the dinner I'm walking through the corridors of the ship, trying to find my room.
Somehow I don't know where my room is at all, but I seem to believe that I'll find it by just randomly walking around anyways...

I wake up and attempt to WILD but I fall asleep too quickly.

I am with other people in an unknown location. There is some sort of meeting.
Why am I here again? It feels like I was drawn to this place by a higher force.
      I gradually become moderately lucid.

The people I'm meeting with claim to be dreamers. I must have somehow stumbled into a shared dreaming experiment...

... Some of the people, including myself, have gone on some sort of quest.
We're walking a path which supposedly leads towards our goal, though I have no idea what it is.

There's a guy in armor leading the way.
Then there's a girl who caught my attention because she's wearing a rather revealing outfit.
Another guy is walking with us. He's very talkative and seems to be very interested in me.
He keeps bugging me about Yuya, which I find sort of annoying.
There's two more guys, but I can't remember anything about them.

The girl is trying to show me how she can create ice crystals at will, but the annoying guy is heating up the spot where she tries to create ice crystals
with fire magic every time she attempts to show me.
      I find this somewhat amusing.

The guy in armor is acting quite weird.
He has long black curly hair, and has a tendency to come very close to you when he's talking with you, opening his eyes widely.
At one point I tell him:

"You're weirding me the fuck out mate"

      He just laughs...

... We reach a tower on top of a cliff and climb all the way up.
Apparently the goal was to come here, I don't really get why.
Everyone but the guy in armor, the girl and me have disappeared by now.

The guy in armor starts swinging his arms around wildly making magical noises and finally vanishes.

"Right... now that was properly weird."
      "Yes..."

I look at the landscape. It is very beautiful.

      "Hey. Wanna fly?"
      "Oh... no. I can't fly."
"What? Bollocks, all dreamers can fly."
"Well maybe, but I can't fly yet."
      "Sure you can, it's easy."
      "For you maybe..."
"Well listen, with that attitude it's no wonder you have trouble flying."
      "..."
      "Come here, I'll show you."

We approach the edge of the tower. It's a very long way down from here.

"Now what... don't tell me you want me to jump!"
      "Free your mind."
      "What?"
      "Free your mind!"
      "Okay..."
      "It's safe... it's all safe"
      "Right."

I gently push her off the edge and as she realizes she's going to fall she starts screaming.
Somehow I find this funny. I know she isn't in any real danger.
I jump after her and catch up.

      "You fucking asshole!"
      "Haha, calm down"
      "I HATE FALLING!"
      "Then fly?"
      "Fuck you!"
"Aww come on. I'm not gonna let you fall all the way down."
      "Now what?"
      "Fly!"
      "HOW?"
      "What did I tell you?"
      "Free my mind..."

The air surrounding her suddenly becomes turbulent and she starts slowing down.
She's very occupied with slowing down, and we come to a full stop about a meter over a lake.

      "See, that wasn't so bad!"
"You could have said something instead of pushing me..."
      "Maybe..."

I drop down onto the lake and walk on the water.
That clearly makes her curious and she stops flying assuming she'll be able to walk on the water as well.
But she drops right into the lake, which I find quite funny.
She flies back out and gives me a very accusing look.
      I say laughingly:

"What? You asked me how to fly, now how to walk on water!"

I was a wizard in Runescape. I had a blue robe on, wielding an air staff, and I also had a dragon dagger. I had just uncovered a teleportation spell that sent me close to home. It cost 10 water runes and 5 earth runes. Bri said she had already taken a picture of the surrounding area. Then I joined about 6 other people. We were going to do a quest, the name was Desert Treasure. We had to go wayy uo into the mountains to get a frost gem. As we went up into the mountain, we stopped at a gate. There was a man sitting there, as if it was a toll booth. We looked past the gate, and there were giant wolves prowling around. The man was talking to some others, and I mentioned to James, "You see those wolves?? They're level 125!" I guess someone pissed the man off, and he took up arms. I had a poisoned dragon scimitar, and a poisoned dragon dagger. The battle raged for a while, going back and forth. When the wolves died, they turned into people, and started battling with swords. I don't know what it is about me and swords, but every time I use them, I had to bend them back into place; they're always extremely flimsy. I was getting better at sword fighting, and as I looked around, there was a black paladin fighting others. He got pummeled and flew into the upstairs of an abandoned house. I chased after him, as he shouldn't have been there to begin with. As I searched, I heard a shower turn on, so I ran to the bathroom. The man was cleaning himself!! I threw him out of the shower and picked him up.

"Who are you?!" I yelled at his face. He told me that he was a robot from the future, who had come to collect something after the battle. Obviously, the battle hadn't ended yet, and he needed to hide. There was more to his story, but I was fed up with him, and I jumped out, leaving him. Earlier in the battle, I was using my staff and casting spells, but now, I only had teleportation spells, so that was useless. There was one main man that I was battling, and there were only about 4 of us scattered about fighting. I knew I would see that man again, as he disappeared. I had dropped my scimitar, and was using my dagger until the end. The setting had now changed to a playground, and I was asking and searching aloud, "Where is my dragon scimitar?" By the end, the two blades had become yellow with some sort of bodily fluid from them. I gave up the search quickly, and I noticed that a lot more people had arrived. More like popped up. I walked toward the group, and stood in the middle of it. As I did, the dream collapsed, but the people remained.

I heard someone yell, "Oh no! We lost clarity. Quick! Dreamer! Visualize the scene again!" And I did, as I didn't want to wake up. That queue instantly made me lucid. It took a few seconds, and I was doubtful, but it reappeared and I was content. Now, there were a lot a lot more people around. This time sitting or propped up against walls. I walked in between 2 buildings, and decided that I wanted to gly. I jumped to the height of the building(It was about 10 feet up) and something up there had caught my eye. I jumped again, this time higher, and.. Yes, it was! There were little kids sitting on top of the building. I told someone at the foot of the building about it, and asked them why, but they gave me a vague answer. I think that they had to escape themselves. I jumped onto the roof of the building, and I looked to my left. A small Japanese girl was staring at me. I asked her why she was up here ,but she simply stared. I noticed how the sky was oddly colored, and walked out to the front edge of the building. I wanted to increase my clarity, so I focused on my hand. I didn't do it at first though, because when I did, the space around my hand seemed to warp in a cool way. I did gain more lucidity and clarity after another try though. I looked up into the sky, and remembered what AL3ZAY had said.

"Pick a space, somewhere within the billions of miles in the Cosmos, and create a spherical piece of land just for you and invited guests." An inner voice told me that it was not yet time for this, so I moved on. I jumped off the roof. I still wanted to fly, and there was a huge auditorium right there, about 25 feet tall. I made it to the roof of that, but still no floating effect. I landed, and looked to my left to see a big group of black people fist fighting. I wanted to work on my hand to hand skills, so I ran over there. I got there, and immediately punched one guy right in his nose. I turned to my right, and evaded a punch. I countered with a left hook. Behind me, a man was shouting a battle cry and running towards me. I jumped and 180 kicked him in the chest. The fight stopped, and the people moved back to form 2 parallel lines.s The 'leaders' were talking back and forth about me, saying that it was uneven now. As I walked down the line, a black girl held out her hand. I took it, and the dream ended.

    5. Hidden in Both Worlds

by , 06-30-2011 at 12:43 AM (The Dream Magic Experiment)
I was going o travel to the "city." An unknown city. A "city that never sleeps." I'm looking for someone, but not quite sure what it is. I hitch-hiked on a car. I saw the busy streets from a strange perspective; it was as if I was a third person watching everything like a movie.

I arrived at a hotel at night. There were people. We were outside the hotel. Huge tiles on the ground. Something is hidden under one. Then I realized/was told that others are hidden in "both worlds." I need to find them.

      Ideas: "opulence disappears" and (SE)

I have a sense of mission or quest. I'm not sure for who or what, or why. It's just that "I have to." This sense of mission distracted me from trying to check.

      NOTES:

Listened to lucid dream induction mp3s before and while asleep.
Slept telling myself I will remember my dream.

    6. Driving Difficulties and Quest in an Abandoned Hospital

by , 03-10-2011 at 08:36 PM (Nocturn Core (Abridged))
The dream began with me driving home in Texas, reportedly from my job. My parents still lived in their old house, so that was the neighborhood I went to. All of the stores in the small shopping center clustered around the Subway were gone. In their place was a huge supermarket. The parking lot was a mess of broken slabs of concrete. I went into the store, and Nicole called me. I could hear the cast of Glee in the background; she was watching it while talking to me. Just from the actors’ voices, I was able to reconstruct the episode in visual form in my head. I laughed when Will suddenly swept Emma off her feet in a rare moment of manliness. She giggled and pleaded with him to let her down. When he did, she calmed down a bit.

“What was that?” she asked. “Some kind of… fatherly instinct, Will?”

“I’m gonna beat my children…” He said it so calmly, so unabashedly! It was almost as though this was supposed to sound romantic. I cracked up laughing. The show went to a commercial break without a comment from anyone else. Nicole didn’t think it was funny at all, but I was enjoying the chance to see how pathological Will’s perception of life had become over the course of the show. I grabbed a can of pasta off a shelf and waved it around in the air as I joked with Nicole about how that was the best line in the whole episode. The can was covered in something sticky like orange juice, so I switched it with another one. I went straight to the checkout. I guess pasta was all I needed… A plump, black woman waved me over to her register. She swiftly processed my single item. When she printed a receipt for me to sign, I just wrote my first name. I carried my one grocery item in a bag back to my car. Instead of getting in the driver’s seat, I climbed into the back of the car… The air conditioning turned on as soon as I closed the door.

“I’m so glad it does that,” I murmured to myself in relief. It was a warm, humid night in Texas. I wondered briefly how it was possible for my car to do that, but I didn’t worry too much about it. I locked the door. I didn’t want to get mugged. Only then did I lean into the front of the car and turn it on. I quickly flipped on my lights and popped the car into drive, then spun around to the only exit onto the road I could see. My side of the exit was horribly ruined; huge slabs of concrete blocked the way. I swerved around it and angled the wheels so I could easily turn that way. I made a right onto the street once it was clear. Basically, the street was divided by a huge median with trees growing all over it, so in order to get to the correct side of the street, I had to make a U-turn about thirty yards down the road. I must note that this U-turn was impossibly tight; my car pivoted around the narrow, three foot wide tip of the median without any difficulties. I found myself in a turn-only lane going left and had to switch. Then I saw a yellow light.

Yellow, I thought. Yellow, yellow, yell – oh! I realized I was supposed to stop at the intersection up ahead! The light turned red, but I was still going too fast. I slid right into the middle of the intersection. Oops. I figured it was better to just keep going, so I put my foot back down on the accelerator. Almost as soon as I passed through the intersection, I saw a cop coming the other way. I was horrified. He must’ve seen me – how could he not? I knew he would pull me over as soon as he could turn around. I had to act swiftly. In order to evade the police, I planned to take an unusual route back home. I turned left onto a small street, disappearing from the main road before the cop could find me. This road bisected another in a place that looked like the suburbs of Chicago. I started talking to Ben on the phone. I didn’t have to hold it up… I could just hear his voice. This is probably a fortunate side-effect of using headphones when I’m on the phone lately. Anyway, Ben complained that it was snowing in Australia, but we somehow determined that it was actually raining because it was forty degrees in Brisbane. Ben pretended to be confused about the temperature. He said it was 40 to 100 degrees outside – first in Fahrenheit, but then in Centigrade. That didn’t sound right at all. If he was using the Celsius scale, much of that range would be intolerable, even lethal. I turned onto the next street. Traffic lights and driving in general were beginning to pose crippling difficulties. I couldn’t focus my eyes properly on the lights, and some kind of weird, yellow dot appeared in my field of vision to direct the car. On top of keeping the wheel straight, I had to keep this light in the middle of my perspective with my mind in order to keep the car going straight. Anytime I looked away from the middle of the road, the car turned in that direction. The only way to counter it was to turn the wheel in the opposite direction at the same time. As one can imagine, this wasn’t easy. It was incredibly difficult for me to multitask in this dream on top of everything else, so it’s no surprise that I went through three red lights in succession before finally stopping.

Ben explained that he needed help with a quest. The road took me along the edge of a massive, red curtain – the kind used in theaters. I knew there was an abandoned hospital inside. Ben needed to get into the hospital and retrieve something. I stopped the car, got out, and slipped under the heavy curtain. The hospital was dark, and many of the doors and windows were boarded up. Ben transformed into Goofy (Mickey Mouse). He started going to the main entrance, but I insisted that I knew which entrance was the right one to use. I had done this quest before, I said. Actually, I was just attempting it for the first time – but with Ben’s help, I knew we would be fine. We circled around the building to a small back door. Inside, we found two elevators and a door to a stairwell. The stairs were the obvious choice… The building probably wouldn’t have any electrical power to spare, considering the state it was in. Despite that, Ben went for the first elevator.

“I don’t think that’s going to work…” I said. He pushed a button. The elevator dinged at us as it opened. Nervously, I followed him in. “What if we get stuck in here? This is a bad idea… I hate elevators.” The door slowly closed. Ben picked a floor, and the elevator began to drop. The walls were made of mirrors. Staring at reflections of reflections of myself wasn’t helping my sanity. Ben apologized for choosing the elevator; he hadn’t intended to disturb me. We would take the stairs back up, he promised. When the elevator stopped, I stumbled out. Moving was difficult down here for some reason… Ben didn’t have any trouble, though. We were inside a small Minecraft level. The path curved around a pit of sharks before coming to a slide. I almost slid straight down, but there was a lava pit at the bottom! That would have meant my death. I had diamonds and quite a bit of iron in my inventory, so I was glad I hadn’t fallen. I had to slip into a tunnel on one side of the slide. I found it difficult to make any progress… I got my legs in the tunnel, but the rest of my wouldn’t move at a normal speed.

Ben started arguing with another guy in the room with the shark pit. The guy said that the official Minecraft system made dirt grow infinitely high over time, simulating growing grass. Anyone who still played the old Minecraft was in denial, he claimed. Ben made jokes about dirt reproducing like guinea pigs as he hopped across the shark pit. He ran past me into the tunnel. I followed him as a point of awareness as he jumped skillfully across a couple pools of lava, then trudged right through a tunnel half full with lava without taking any damage. I thought he was doing this because he had food to heal himself afterward, but I realized after he emerged that he was wearing chain mail. He was invincible! He came across some kind of harpy woman and didn’t realize she was an enemy for a few moments as she slapped him with her wings. He killed her in a few seconds.

My awareness returned to my body, and I followed after Ben. Since I didn’t have anything to protect me from the lava, I planned to build a path through it. When I got to the tunnel of lava Ben traversed before, however, I saw that it was just steaming water. I figured I would probably be okay… I waded to the other side without taking any damage. A puddle of water on the ground just past the tunnel (where Ben encountered the harpy before) took the shape of a woman. It was a water elemental. I struck her with a bolt of lightning, but the damage was paltry. She was resistant to magic, being a creature of magic herself. I knew cutting her wasn’t going to do me any good. What did I do in the past when I encountered these, I wondered? I vaguely remembered running. I considered calling Ben for help, but he was way ahead by now.

by , 02-15-2011 at 12:16 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Plans: I didn't have any particular plans for this night other than my usual list of goals that stretches from here to eternity. I left my dreams up to my subconscious and Avalon to decide.

      Farmville City
I am in a strange town that looks like a massive farm of some kind crossed with a swap meet… so there are rows and rows of stalls on both sides of some aisles, each of the stalls have various animals in different enclosures. Cows, chickens, sheep, goats… every type. I am wandering through the aisles looking at the animals, and I come to one of the stalls where someone is passing out little baby chickens. I am looking at that and he says he will give me several chicks, he hands me three of them. I need to find a stall to put the chicks in, the man tells me the chicks jump really high and will go over the average height fence so I need to choose stalls where the fences are double height or the chicken enclosure is completely enclosed and covered. So I wander up and down the aisles until I find three different enclosures… Two of them have high fences around the chicken enclosures and the third one has a covered enclosure. The chicks are jumping high, indeed, almost making it over the higher fence!

      DDO - Home Invasion
I am in a rather expensive house, I don't recognize the house I am in. I am there with Tigress, and I feel I am in a DDO quest where the sahuagin have invaded some homes in a town and need to be cleared out before they kill everyone in the town. And, just as I reach that realization, Tigress and I are being attacked by sahuagin. We fight the sahuagin off, I am using my Witchblade sword, Tigress is using a REALLY big axe that looks like it must weigh more than she does! She is wielding it with ease, however, and quickly cleaving off sahuagin heads as they come in and attack her. I am more focused on the sahuagin attacking me, however, and the fight is over rather quickly. Tigress and I look around for a bit more, and we find there had been some kind of electricity being delivered to the house via cannith crystal, that electricity is being used to power quite a few modern technologies. The sahuagin had severed that power supply, so we re-connect it. The sahuagin have also severed the water supply to the house, so we also restore that. The strange thing is there is also a connection that produces an oil of some kind that is supposed to be really good for the skin. These connections are only present in the more expensive looking homes, though. In each home, after we defeat the sahuagin in the house, the people living in the house come out of a hidden cellar and start cleaning up the mess that the sahuagin have made. Each of the families from the cellar bring a small treasure chest as a reward. There are quite a few houses to clear out, and by the time we get to the business district we have a lot of chests that we are somehow carrying with us in a small bag that must have infinite space inside it. There are sahuagin in the shops and businesses, too, so there is still more killing to be done. Each of the shops has a medium sized chest in the back room. There is no actual indication that the chests are ours to take, but we take them, anyways. After all, that's how DDO works… find a chest, loot it! We find one final gathering of sahuagin in the center of town, and this is where we find the leader of the sahuagin group. This is a sahuagin priestess, and she is really a nasty one, she more than makes up for her lack of beauty with her nastiness. This fight doesn't take long, however, I run my sword through the priestess' chest and Tigress relieves her of her ugly head. A huge treasure chest appears in the center of town now, and some of the people in the town are starting to venture out to see what the sahuagin have done and if they are really gone Tigress and I have lots of chests to open, and we start doing that. I don't remember what was found there, but I do remember noting there is a whole lot of awesome treasure in the chests we have gathered.
    8. 09/10/10 The Cave of the Spider Demon

by , 09-18-2010 at 03:58 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
I was in a strange town, I didn't have any idea how I had gotten there but that fact didn't occur to me at the time. The town looked like something I would expect to see in an RPG or fantasy movie. I was dressed in the white robes of an Assassin's Creed Assassin' which was a good thing since the sun was shining very hotly and the white robes helped keep the direct heat off. That certainly didn't make things comfortable, however, so I was looking for a public place to get in to so I could cool off a bit, I ended up going into a tavern of some kind, though I didn't notice the name.

The inside of the tavern was quite a bit darker than the bright exterior, so it took my eyes a couple minutes to adjust so I could see clearly. There were lots of people in the place, all talking amongst themselves, making it impossible to determine what any one person was saying. I walked farther into the tavern, I noticed that there were quite a few people looking at me, I wasn't sure why that might be, so I ignored them and went over to the bar and ordered a beer. I wasn't sure why I ordered a beer, I don't even like beer, but I opened it Nd took a drink. It was better than I expected. The bar tender asked if there was anything else I needed, I thanked him and said the beer was it for now... I asked how much I owed him, he said I owed him nothing, I thought that was odd, but I stepped away from the bar.

I was feeling like a character in a video game, which was how I looked, so I thought I should find a quest to go on. This was a tavern, there should be some kind of quest available in here... So I wandered around the tavern a bit, eavesdropping on some conversations to see if there was anyone who sounded like they needed help. I wasn't hearing anything interesting at first... A man was speaking lovingly to a woman, telling her not to worry, his wife would never find them there... A woman getting quite angry, talking to her friend about how she wanted to kill her cheating husband, a couple of women were kissing as lovers... None of this really got my attention, these were all personal matters, so I continued looking. I was starting to worry that I might become obvious when something caught my attention, someone was talking about their daughter having been kidnapped. I sat down at a table close enough to listen in on their conversation.

The mother and father were both talking to a rather creepy looking guy, the mother and father looked like pretty well-off individuals, more so than most of the people in the tavern. The creepy guy, on the other hand, looked like he had crawled out of the city dump, or more likely the rats had thrown him out for being too disgusting. As I listened, I found out that the couple's daughter, 15 years old, had ben kidnapped and would most likely be sacrificed to some nasty called a spider demon. At the mention of a sacrafice, the parents looked horrified. The creepy guy seemed to savor that reaction... Then he continued to say the girl would be alive for a good week yet, since that was the gestation period for the little ones. Apparently there were many spiders controlled by this spider demon, and they would feed on the girl for the entire time while making sure to keep her alive, they would lay their eggs in her, when the eggs hatch in several days, the little ones atr hungry. But no worries, the girl would make a ready food supply, if she was lucky she would be too delirious to feel the excruciating pain as the little ones ate her alive from the inside. By now the mother was in tears... The father was begging the guy to tell them where the girl was being held, offering to pay any amount, but the man said he just wanted to be sure the couple would know their daughter would be dying a very slow and painful death. He walked out, leaving the parents too stunned to react.

I wondered if those horrible things the man had said were true, he also seemed the type to make up a horrible series of lies just to watch the parents' despair and pain... But if there was any chance that was true, I had to check it out, and I had been looking for a quest... So I followed the man from the tavern and onto the street, somehow it had become night while I had been in the tavern, and even stranger was the fact my Assassin's robes had turned black. They were adjusting to keep me hidden in any situation, which I thought was pretty cool. I saw the man moving down the street at a quick pace, he definitely knew where he was heading, and I followed him. I wanted to stay close enough not to lose him and still far enough back that he wouldn't spot me, although my robes kept me well hidden so there wasn't really any threat of that. I followed him for quite a while, he clearly knew where he was going, though I had no clue. He left the town and made his way through the darkness as if he had been there many times before, he had no trouble navigating the narrow trails through the rocky landscape with little to no difficulty while there were a couple places where I nearly face planted due to tripping on a rock I hadn't seen. The man disappeared into a small cave, glancing around to be sure no one was following him before disappearing inside. I noticed that he looked directly at me but gave no indication that he had seen me at all.

I followed him into the inky darkness of the cave, at which point he finally revealed that he could not see in total darkness by lighting a torch to see by. Of course that made it really easy to follow him through what seemed to be an endless maze of caves branching off in every direction. He finally entered a cavern that was illuminated by torches, that was his final destination. I entered the room to find a scene from a horror movie, there was a girl in there who looked like she was about 15 years old, she was naked and bound to the side of the cavern with what looked like wads of spider webs. That wasn't the worst part of it, either. The worst part of the scene was that there were small spiders crawling all over her, it looked like they were biting her, and there were red welts all over her body where she had been previously bitten, and she was hanging limply from her bonds and crying. When the man entered the room, the girl looked up at him, still crying, she said she wanted to go home, please help her... The man looked at her and laughed, he said he was going to help himself to her, that's what he was going to do, and as he said that he pulled his pants down, I was grateful that I couldn't see what he pulled out. The girl saw it, however, and was repeating over and over, "No… no… no…" and "Don't… don't… don't…" through her tears. That dirty, rotten, filthy piece of shit!

This would stop now. The girl fell silent as I walked up behind the asshole, she was looking at me with wide eyes… I figured it probably looked to her like I had just materialized out of nowhere. Time to take out the trash… but not too fast… that filthy asshole… his sickening chuckles fell silent as I ran my hidden blade into him. He turned towards me before I could even remove the hidden blade, which resulted in the wound getting torn even bigger… He opened his mouth to curse, but all that came out was blood, he fell down to his knees and coughed up blood again, then fell onto his side and twitched there for a short time before coughing up blood one final time and then being still. I noticed the girl was staring at me with wide eyes, I wondered if I had made a mistake by letting her see what I had just done, well there was nothing to be done for it now. What I had to do was get her out of there.

I remembered that in dreams I am able to control insects and spiders, so I ordered the spiders on the girl to get off of her, and I was surprised when they actually obeyed. I was actually considering doing a reality check but I was distracted when someone entered the room, this was a big and ugly guy… I remembered the freak saying there was someone he called the Spider Demon. Well, this guy was definitely ugly, but he didn't look like a demon to me. He proved that he truly was able to control the spiders, however, when he summoned all of the spiders in the room to gather around him. I'm not sure what had happened before I had arrived, but the sight of the ugly demon wanna-be set the girl off on some uncontrollable screaming, I wondered what sick things that asshole had already done… He ordered the spiders to attack me, I hadn't had a chance to cut the girl free yet, the asshole was laughing insanely. The spiders seemed to hesitate, but then started moving towards me, but I told them to turn around and attack the asshole. They immediately turned around and surrounded the asshole, completely ignoring his commands now, and then swarmed over him as he yelled his commands at them to attack me, not him. His yelling soon became muffled as the spiders filled his mouth with web, and they completely bound him in web, he fell to the ground, futilely struggling, looking like a big worm trying to break out of a cocoon of spider web, only his nose and eyes were still visible. His muffled cries of anger changed to cries of pain…

I pulled my attention from the "Spider Demon" and cut the girl free of the spider webs, then carried her out of the cavern. I'm not sure how I managed to find my way through the maze of dark passages, but I somehow did and emerged with the girl into the night. She was still crying, still naked in the night… I took off my robe and wrapped it around her, which left me wearing a non-descript shirt and pair of pants. There were so many spider bites all over her, I thought that since I could control the spiders IWL, maybe I could now use my healing powers IWL… so I focused on healing the girl's wounds, golden energy formed and flowed through her, wiping the bite marks away as if they were nothing more than spots of dirt on her skin, the energy also served to calm her down and relax her, she stopped crying, and now she just looked tired, completely exhausted… so I ended up carrying her all the way back to the town, I was surprised that at no point during that hike did I become tired nor did the girl start feeling heavy. I didn't really consider why that might be. I went down the main street in the town and went directly to the tavern, I wasn't sure if the parents would still be there, but that was a good place to start looking for them.

The first time I'd walked into the tavern quite a few of the people in the room had turned to look at me. When I walked in carrying the girl wrapped in my robes, everyone in the room turned to look at me. I scanned the crowd, searching for the parents of the girl I was holding, and I spotted them over in the far corner talking to a man who appeared to be an adventurer or a mercenary of some kind, I figured the parents were looking everywhere, desperate for someone to help them find their daughter. Now they were looking at me along with everyone else. I didn't really know what to say, so I just carried the girl over to the couple, at which point I pulled a fold of robe away from the girl's face, revealing her to her parents. The two of them were beside themselves with relief, the girl had been sleeping in my arms, but now she woke up. I set her on her feet, her parents embraced her, the three of them hugging and crying tears of relief and saying a bunch of stuff I couldn't understand due to the fact they were crying tears of joy. Excellent. Another sappy happy ending, though I wasn't sure why that was the way I was thinking of it… I turned to leave the tavern, to leave the happy family to their celebration, but the mother grabbed me, she was saying she didn't know how to thank me enough, she didn't know how to repay me, I just said I hadn't done it for payment. Both parents were expressing their gratitude now, the father took off his cloak and wrapped it around the girl before handing me my robes back. He said they looked like an exceptional garment… I felt like I was going to wake up, so I told them I had to go, there were places I had to be. I turned and left the tavern quickly… as soon as I stepped out the door and around the corner I woke.
    9. 08/03/10 Oblivion - The Flaming Sword

by , 08-07-2010 at 01:15 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
I focused on following don Juan and MoSh, tried to open a portal, but nothing happened… hmmm… maybe I was really not meant to follow them. I figured I might as well continue to another goal for the night…

I opened a portal to get back to the biodome, my first thing would be to check to see if anyone was waiting there for me at the koi pond. I went through the portal and entered the biodome right next to the tree which grows loaves of fresh bread instead of the usual apples or oranges, I picked myself a loaf of fresh french bread, it already smelled of butter, then I went to the bench by the koi pond. I sat there and ate my bread, it was definitely already buttered, I tossed a few pieces of bread into the pond, those were quickly snatched up by the fish. After I finished my bread I sat there a couple more minutes, but I was afraid if I sat there and did nothing for too long I would lose lucidity or lose the dream or both, I kind of felt the dream slipping even now, I stood up and focused on one of the koi to try to stabilize the dream. As I brought the koi into focus the dream around me became more stable. So what now? One of my goals was to share an Oblivion dream with Tigress… either that or a DDO dream, either way, I had to find Tigress first. I opened the portal with the goal of locating Tigress for this kind of dream.

I emerged from the portal to find myself in a grassy area near a cave. I wasn't sure where I was, but it did look something like a scene in Oblivion, which was one possibility I had been looking for. Of course I had been looking for Tigress, not for a specific location, so I thought she might be somewhere in the area. I looked around to see if I could find Tigress anywhere, and I finally spotted a woman there with me, though if it wasn't for her energy I wouldn't have recognized her as Tigress… although the form did make sense. She was a khajiit off of Oblivion, she had armor and weapons and looked ready to head into battle.

She gave me a strange look and then said there aren't any Assassins in Oblivion, I said there are, there's the Dark Brotherhood which is basically an Assassin's guild, and I have seen screenshots where people have created a custom Oblivion character to look like Altaïr. Besides, this is an Oblivion dream, not the actual game Oblivion, so I can be whatever character I want. She said she wasn't trying to say my being an Assassin was bad, just that there are no Assassin's Creed style Assassins in Oblivion, so it would be interesting to see how it worked if I kept my actions limited to the game abilities of Altaïr. She said she thought it would result in a kick ass character. She said she already had a quest, she described the quest to me, our goal was to sneak into the goblin caves and find the lost magical sword of flames within, but we would most likely have to fight our way out once we had it because taking it would alert the goblins. But if we were discovered before we got the sword, the goblins would no doubt move it to a new location and we would lose our chance to steal it. Stealth on the way in, steal sword, fighting on the way out. Got it.

So now Tigress and I quietly entered the cave, the door made a creaking noise that seemed disturbingly loud, but the sound didn't draw any response. There was a long passage that lead to a ledge overlooking a larger chamber down below. At the far end of the chamber there were two goblins guarding a door, it looked like the large chamber was there so that no one could easily sneak up on the guards. The room was well lighted with torches, the goblins were too far away to make an archery shot easy, and there was no hidden approach. While the archery shot appeared difficult at best, that didn't deter Tigress, who pulled her bow off her back and aimed an arrow at one of the guards. She had one arrow aimed, a second arrow already in her hand, then she fired… and fired the second arrow in quick succession. Both of the goblins dropped silently to the ground. Nice shots, and I told Tigress so. We went down to the lower level using a ladder and went straight to the cave the fallen goblins had been guarding, Tigress found a key on one of them and used it to open the door.

There was another passage beyond the door with doors opening off to the sides, but there was no way such a valuable item, and we also had intelligence reports that the sword we were looking for was down on the third level of the dungeon. The passage ended in a larger room where there were quite a few goblins lined up, like soldiers ready for battle, but that didn't last for long before they moved out in an organized line. That left four goblins visible on the other side of the room talking amongst themselves. They didn't seem to be paying much attention to our side of the room, apparently they didn't consider the threat of invasion to be very high since they were in a very relaxed and casual state. About ten feet to their left there was a large bell that would no doubt serve to alert the rest of the goblins in the dungeon that there was an intruder. I scanned the room and saw there were also two goblins on either side of the passage exit. So, at the same time, Tigress let loose a volley of arrows to take down the four goblins in quick succession and I knifed the goblins beside the passage entrance with my hidden blade.

So our quest continued like this, us progressing silently through the maze of passages, selecting the passages that were least watched by goblins which meant that they were sometimes harder to traverse. Tigress took out distant goblins with excellent archery skills, making hits that looked neigh impossible, I snuck up on goblins that were never aware of my presence until my blade was already in them. We finally found our way down to the main treasure chamber, which had to be opened by inserting five seals in the star shaped carving. Once the seals were in place, the carving turned around and the door slid open. The room beyond looked really cool. There was a sword on display in the middle of the room, on a small pedestal in a cylinder of light, the sword was floating in the air, hilt down, blade up, and it was on fire. The room was filled with a dim blue glow.

Tigress and I went into the room and over to the sword, which was burning brightly, I somehow knew that as soon as someone touched the sword an alarm would sound. Tigress and I paused for a bit, I formed Witchblade into a sword and motioned to Tigress that she could use the fire sword since her element is fire, and then she took it. Sure enough, the sound of alarm bells rang through the caves, I didn't even know how they had been set off, but they were loud. Goblins were coming in from the chamber entrance, our way out was completely blocked, and we were completely surrounded. The goblins were growling menacingly, no doubt assured of their victory… Tigress and I fought and killed quite a few goblins. They were staying back, but they still blocked our way. We would just have to go through them.

Tigress and I were about to do just that when there was a portal, and MoSh came into the room. He didn't even seem to notice the goblins there at all, he looked annoyed at me… He said that since I hadn't followed him and don Juan he was going to completely forget everything they said and did. He said he was going to completely forget what don Juan had said about tapping into his inner power to reach his full potential, Tigress let out a "pfft" that MoSh didn't notice or ignored, the goblins were getting a bit perplexed by this newcomer that had somehow gotten straight into their treasure chamber and was completely ignoring the lot of them. The goblins were snarling angrily at all of us, especially at MoSh, who turned and told them to shut the fuck up, they weren't about to forget some important information. Well, he might as well use it during the short time he would have it… He took a few steps towards the goblins, stopped, then a wave of energy expanded out from him and incinerated every goblin it touched, though it washed harmlessly over Tigress and myself… Shortly after the energy wave MoSh disappeared, apparently having woken up.

Well, whatever had brought MoSh there, he had broken the barricade of goblins, causing quite a few of them to run away in fear of whatever that energy pulse had been. Tigress and I got out of the sword chamber and fought our way through the goblins, taking them down in huge numbers, leaving a trail of dead goblins in our wake. We finally got out of the caverns and into the sunlight, which was very bright after the caves, and it appeared it was even brighter to Tigress since she was a khajiit. Tigress said the sword was a treasure of the khajiit, it had been stolen by the goblins. I told her I thought I was about to wake up, so I would see her later, and then I woke.

I am sent on a quest to collect these special eggs from a laberynth. The maze is huge; there are several cities within it. The whole point is to eventually find a one-of-a-kind egg called the Embryo. ((Shugo Chara reference.)) Helping me on the quest is a biped werewolf who does not seem to have a human form.

As we are collecting the eggs, we realize that they each have a fortune inside of them. These are more important than the eggs themselves, so we just crack the eggs and take the fortunes along with us. One of them says that I will eventually lead the Vampires to victory against the Werewolves. Enraged, my werewolf friend begins to attack me, but I manage to explain that I would never do something like that, because I hate the Vampires as much as he does. I figure that the fortune must be referring to something a bit more cryptic, because I would never betray the 'wolves. He calms down and we continue on our way.

After a while, we pass by some werewolf slayers, and I hide my friend from them and force him to stay in the woods so he will not get killed. I go back and collect some more of the fortunes, and read one that says the werewolf will save me from danger on the road. As I am heading back to find him, I am assaulted by two passersby. At first I think the werewolf will rescue me, but then I become lucid and decide I'd rather take matters into my own hands. I fight with them for a while, and although no damage is dealt I manage to chase them off.

I then lose lucidity and begin to howl. The werewolf howls back and I manage to find him somewhere within the forest. We eventually come upon an old abandoned church and hide out there for a while to read the fortunes we have collected.
