    1. ccclxxxiii. Mid-level questing and guild participation

      Dream:

I'm on WoW, I'm playing as a human paladin, by the gear probably level 30ish. Model is vanilla style. I'm with a female caster, a night elf or a human, I think it changes. We're part of the same guild, one which I just joined very recently and we're doing a quest together. This is an alt for her, but this is a main for me. She has a mechanical squirrel mount. She's the same level or a bit higher and her character seems more life-like and "flowing" in terms of animations.

There's another player nearby from the guild who is at max level. The quest me and the caster are doing requires killing an NPC that is scripted to put a certain buff on us, but I kill the NPC too fast at first. I think I apologise and get the feeling she may be annoyed by the fact I killed it too fast. A random player of a similar level appears and joins us for the quest. We do the thing properly this time and then this player leaves us again. Neither of us lost much health and I sufficiently use a holy light rank one to heal her. I think about how I wish I had flash of light.

She quickly goes to duel the max level guildie nearby and gets very low HP, so I use some current-rank holy light casts on her. I think she's amused by all of this. She says she's spoken to management and I've been cleared (DRG intrusion) for "dungeon proc ID". I'm not sure what this means but can guess, I tell her. She tells me that she can see the raw data and where ores/herbs spawn and such like.

Earlier. I'm with other guild members in a large communal bed thing, about seven of us I think? We're all supposedly trying to sleep. And at the foot-end of the bed there's player information, like there would be in the guild roster, but physical. I'm next to all the other paladins, I see, and many of whom are level 70, max level I think. I'm a noob in the guild. The guild has been around for seven years, I think to myself, and then I spot this paladin who's been here for five years and several months, being one of the oldest members who's still around.

Even earlier. Something about an adventure and a town on water and natives or something. (Was not interested enough to write down recall and too tired.)

      10:00
      Fragment:

Another WoW dream. Something about being a rogue. I'm in a forest not unlike Feralas and there are tall mountain sides near where I am. Again, something to do with a guild and a quest. I remember looking through or into a tree trunk of a large tree?

      Notes:

      - These dreams have two primary meanings that I'm seeing currently; one part is a sense of nostalgia for what playing the game was like, while the other part is the currently recurring collective aspect to my dreams lately.

(Need to make further notes on this but am unable to concentrate enough at present)

    2. cclxiv. Da Vinci's x-ray crystal, Helping mom by cleaning some dusty ruins

      by , 05-05-2021 at 09:22 PM
      5th May 2021 ~9:20

      Fragment:

A(D) messages me on Steam. Something about his birthday? Think he feels lonely but he doesn't mention it.

      Dream:

Some dream where I'm walking with H along a pavement, along a road in a forested area with the occasional field. Reminds me of areas in my native country. It's daytime, afternoon?

At some point, we are at some escalators in an entrance for a massive building complex, maybe like a mall. H is no longer H. Instead, it's some unknown dream character following me for some reason; he wants to know where Da Vinci's lock box (safety deposit?) is kept, I think. I tell him "It's probably in one of the 800 ones".

I know where they are and lead him there. We go up a lot of escalators and a few wide stone staircases with shallow steps. Eventually we reach a more open (and outdoor hybrid) area where there are walls with rows and rows of locked panels, the locked boxes we are looking for. There are many people around. Da Vinci's box is one of these just around a corner. Then L arrives, he cautiously walks over to us over a gap or hole in the upper end of the main staircase leading up here.

In the dream, I know that L happens to be one of Da Vinci's direct descendants. Later in the dream I question myself about this logic, shouldn't I be too, if we are siblings?

Either way, he has a key for the locked panels and opens one, giving me something from inside. A crystal. It is elongated, about one foot long at a guess, it is a perfect rectangular cuboid with slightly worked edges/corners, it is a translucent purple at the "top" and a pure white translucent quartz at the other end.

It is a unique object that requires no power and allows one to simply look through it to see others and things through walls with a weak kind of x-ray vision. Later H, mom's sister appears, and she tries to steal the crystal which I had placed in an envelope. I confront her about it and she or both of us get defensive?

(there was more recall but I was too tired)

      ~11:55

      Dream:

There were many other dream sequences but this dream was about helping mom. She was still a teacher in the dream and she was saying that her area was not doing as well as everywhere else in the country, in terms of grades and so on, and I try to reassure her by saying that "kids are and will be different" in different areas, so of course there would be a gap, I reason.

I help somehow, by cleaning up some dusty old church entrance arch area? It has faded greens and reds that brighten up a little once I clean the dust with a microfibre cloth I'm using. I believe the arch is all made of wood, which is painted these colours. I don't see a door to speak of, but the structure is ruined. Its pieces seem to have never been disturbed since it became ruined.

I ask mom about the church, she tells me that it's been this way since the last great earthquake. I think that it would have been undisturbed for a very long time, in that case? It's generally sunny in this area, some kind of square at high point of this old style settlement but I am under the shade of the ruins being under the arch.

Later, I'm not at that place anymore and am discussing something else on the phone with mom, but I cannot recall what anymore.

      Notes:

      - I'm quite tired today but still want to try making some observations for these dreams.

      - Red and green are colours both with personal and non-personal meanings to me. On the personal side, they show the exclusion of blue, a colour that oddly enough has featured on its own in other dreams recently. But neither green nor blue are favourite colours of mine, although it depends on the specific tone too.
-- On the non-personal side, the colours tie in with the locality and ruins in terms of identity, especially because of the mention of the earthquake. Though perhaps an irrational fear, I have all my life been concerned that another event of that scale may occur some day during my lifetime, which would likely affect mom and dad.

      - The thoughts that L would be Da Vinci's descendant really made no sense and the moment of questioning all of that was a kind of pre-lucid moment.

      - The crystal was not supposed to be magical, but technological in nature. It was a very interesting thing to use although I think some part of me had unvoiced radiation concerns in the dream.

      - On falling asleep again after the first set of dreams, I hoped I would return to something and tried setting an intention but I fell asleep faster than I could have realised and realised later I hadn't finished setting my intents and so on.

      - Both of these dreams and other recent dreams have been especially reminiscent of my native country in their stylistic/aesthetic essence. I should try to make time to explore meanings in regards to this a bit, as I feel it could be helpful with how I've been feeling recently; I have felt particularly nostalgic lately but not of life there specifically, just in general of childhood and some other times.

      - The fragment probably relates to the fact that a few people I know are having birthdays around this time of the year, but more specifically I used to know A's birthday date but it seems I don't anymore.

      2nd December 2020

      Fragment:

Our street, mixed with a street back in L. Sunny. The L-side had shade from taller buildings. It was generally busy. Dad's mother was there under such a shade and looking at some kind of wall graffiti; I come to her and she sees me and looks surprised to see me, but she seems a bit lost or confused and I try to guide her somehow. I remember having some low level concern that people might think I'm not related at all and that I'm just trying to take advantage of her.

Earlier in the dream, there was a gang of three hooligans or whatever coming up from down the end of our street but then I remember feeling/realising that they were likely just passing through.

      3rd December 2020

      Dream, fragmented:

An early bit of the dream with an overview/interactive "map" of Wales and England; this so-called map was made of dirt and leaves, which I'm walking on.

3D-like but nonetheless real, leaves were swirling around some locality markers in the West Midlands and near a central point in Wales. It looks like a tornado of leaves is persistently swirling around each one and they seem to overlap in their motions, creating some literal border friction in this sense. I talk with H. I ask in almost rhetoric manner why this can't be sorted out. It looks entirely simple from my point of view, I think.

I use a stick, or something like and try to mark or uncover a border marker for where the Welsh/English border should actually be (as far as I know/can work out) and I manage to get the Welsh leaf tornado to be "sensible" and stick within its remit but the West Midlands tornado refuses to comply and be contained in any sense.

The tornados seemed to represent local governmental authorities responsibilities for picking up recycling and other such waste.

I remember just nearby there's a large tree with bulgy and bulky roots; relative to the map, it's situated just at the very North-most point of the border between Wales and England.

Eventually, the dream moves on or I lose interest and I start looking at some junk nearby. The front of a diesel or electric train? Not sure, but then we were able to enter it from the side or something, and it's a really old house. It's dark and the daylight from outside has that cloudy day/blue tinge that I find characterises days with that weather. I think I'm still with H or another character. I have some special and unique item I traded earlier? I vaguely recall a chiselled stone, lapis lazuli, with a golden ring around some part of it; it has an oblong/obeliskish shape. (I begin to recall a much earlier bit?)

I'm at an apartment. It's a single room and it's no bigger than my old room. There's a girl here, I have the impression I'm a girl too but I don't check in any way. This girl has a pony tail and a sharp face, she looks about 20 or so. I need something from her but she's unwilling to trade; I can't recall any of the dialogue.

Eventually she walks up to the window and I kick her out; she falls several stories and I take the item somehow (was it in the flat?) and this item is one of nine or something which I need for my quest. In the flat, I notice she had some kind of modern CRT TV. For some reason, I give the screen a knock with my right hand knuckles and it resonates slightly.

I am now downstairs immediately outside the apartment building. There's a crowd and police. I'm on the phone or something and this person I'm working with tells me to remain calm and that they've taken care of everything (male voice?). A big white man is out here and he distracts the crowd, shouting and announcing that he did it, he'd killed this girl. He has medium-length hair curls of a fair colour.

I go through and past the crowd and there's some advanced cyber police of sorts. They have egg shaped hover drones, no bigger than a fist, and red scanners. They are doing forensic scans of everyone leaving the area and internally I feel concerned but I keep going and stop when asked to; they find nothing in their scan, to my relief. I continue through a street with tall buildings, it's night time, I feel? Deus Ex (classic) feel to the area here. I look at my phone and read debates about cannibalism, for some reason. One state in the USA had apparently had it as something legal for a very very long time (hundreds of years). I hear people nearby but don't look or pay attention to them.

I reach a small building. It is modern but dilapidated; all the glass is missing or broken. It's dark outside and the odd part is I recall no sky at all. I go inside this building and go up a semi-spiralling staircase. It's brighter in the top floor. There's a curtain or something. (This dream memory starts to get mixed with the other one)

I have traded all the unique and special items at some point, I don't recall with whom. Now, I have a dulled copper-y looking signet ring; I hold it in my palm and I also have a small bag made from untreated leather, of a tan colour. I open the bag and from inside I take out a live miniature Japanese racoon or something, which fits on my palm. It doesn't move much, but I hold it up to a white and bright fluffy ceiling; it yelps and sniffs as I move it around the room; I intuitively understand it's detecting something, to allow me passage from this otherwise dead-end octagonal room.

Then, behind the curtain is a door. i can open it because of the signet ring, I think. I try to close it behind me as I hear voices nearing and think I shouldn't let them follow me.

      (the recall becomes too mixed)

All else I remember is a view of some train with people I know being inside it, laser rifles shooting from inside and outside the train, at each other, as the train passes through a platform. It's night-time. I have vague recall of being somewhere, waiting, and some of my aunts and my mom are there; they are complaining between themselves for some reason and I remember something about a Nazi man visiting and demanding something.
    4. 08-04-16 Surviving the Ocean Quest in the desert

      Non-lucid – NoteslucidInterpretation

The following dream took place after a nap on 08-04-2016 so a few hours after the three other entries of today.

I am at a pier, it is late afternoon or early evening. The pier is wooden and one or two ships are docked, also wooden and sailed ships – it feels like this time is around 2-300 years ago, or even set in a fantasy universe where technological development isn't near as advanced as today. It is cloudy and a bit windy (?).

There are a few fragments before I recall the narrative picking up. Which include, being in a pub/inn, which might be on one of the ships or a settled part of the pier. There is something of communion – that is either gathering a party or just being there with friends or associates.

When the narrative pick up, I seem to be floating disembodied above this inn and I notice the clouded weather as well as a sailor – your rugged, politically incorrect stereotypical privateering mercenary type. He is dressed in a sailors outfit – black and white – and he is making advances at a woman, a middle aged wrench, dressed similarly. She has long and curly red hair and is wearing a necklace that looks like a talisman of some description dressed in a dress of black and white with a lot of curly details.

Our sailor is putting an arm around her and making an approach to kiss her, she is smiling and he seems rather determined if not even slightly hard handed in approaching this sexual situation. She lifts up her dress and he approach to enter her, she is smiling somewhat hungrily at him making him aware that she is willing. A person rush behind him and pushes him towards the woman – I feel this push, though watching the situation on our Sailor's left – which forces him deep inside the wrench sparking a concern on my behalf if she is even wet enough for such a quick entry – I don't feel the coitus aspect, only the push.

Our sailor quickly looks about, but can't seem to find the person and so continues to engage in the sexual act. He is however quickly interrupted as many hooded men, dressed in black and a head or two shorter than the sailor starts swarming about. It is clear that they have malicious intent with the sailor and more and more of them approach. A feeling of intensity and excitement arise as the sailor starts fending off the assailants. While still inside the wrench the sailor looks to his left and throw a thundering punch in the face of one of the hooded men, knocking him out. But there are too many of them and quickly they complete their mission, which isn't exactly fatal as expected.

The sailor, the wrench and now me are knocked into the water. The sea is somewhat turbulent, dark waves with frothy crests and we are thrown into barrels – which I observe from a distance further out the sea – and it is clear that we will survive this endeavour.

A voice rings out over us.

“you are not in danger yet, we do not intend to harm you further”.

Associated with the voice is a sense of the hooded assailants following us over the barrels, as if they can either walk on water, roll on the barrels with their feet or fly above. They have a clear intention with us – they need us to do something, we find ourselves participating in a bit of an involuntary mission.

      There is a quick skip.

When back we find ourselves in three dingy boats at the shores of a far away land. The sun is bright, not a cloud in the sky, and the sea is rather calm – yet the waves seem to be forcing us towards the cliffs of the shores of this remote land. I myself manage to pull up and start sailing parallel to the cliffs and manage to avoid danger.

The cliffs are dark and contrast the rather bright blue water. They are black and dark red, with hints of brown here and there. Above the cliffs there is a vast area of sandy dessert shining brightly beige in the unimpeded sunshine.

I notice that my companions aren't as fortunate when it comes to avoiding the cliffs. So while I could continue in my boat towards the sandy shores a bit further up the coastline I sail towards an area of the cliffs where I can see a naturally occurring “step” up towards the dessert.

When I get up I meet up with my companions. A woman and a man, the wrench and the sailor – though on the dessert lands their identities seem irrelevant. It becomes apparent that we are now stranded, but that somewhere on this dessert land there is a city and we must find this and procure a ship. I remember being here before and I start explaining.

“There are dangers here” I start out “There are a variety of animals on the desserts” and as I am talking about this I am reminded that there are a number of dinosaurs and beasts, dog like (Varghest) – but massive. I begin to inform about this, but as I do one of the threats emerge from behind a cliff out-spring, that forms a natural door as there are cliff walls on both sides of the hole. In the door appears a pink and chubby dinosaur and we don't get a lot of time looking at it before it shoots a bone projectile towards me and the male on my left.

The projectile is diamond shaped, like two very pointy pyramids joined together at the base with 4 planes running towards the top in a square and pointy fashion. Both the male and I don't manage to dodge it, though I attempt to catch it before it strikes me in the chest – directly at the heart.

As the projectile sinks in I am briefly afraid, but then a reassurance appear at a pre-linguistic intellectual level that I have a certain amount of lives, or layers that I can withstand before I collapse.

I start moving towards the dino in a zigzag fashion and manage to catch the next projectile to immediately throw it back towards it. It sinks into it's throat and within a few seconds the dino is defeated and dead.

Not long pass before a new one appear a bit further up on my right. It is half way behind a stand-alone cliff that rise steeply and pointedly from the sand. It shoots smaller – needle-like – projectiles towards us and I immediately take up the zigzag course again.

To begin with I head pretty much directly towards the dino – which is smaller, not as chubby, but still pink – but then we alter strategy and decide to work together in unison, splitting up and approach the beast from different directions.

I am finally the one that reach it and plug one of the small, but sharp and pointy needles off the head of the beast. I start perforating the throat of the beast, but the first sting does nothing, nor the second and I am reminded that a few holes will only drain the beast of air slowly, so I have patience and use agility to avoid getting in danger of being pierced myself.

Immediate Interpretation: This to me is a hero's dream. The ocean and the confinement in barrels represents a forced emotional turbulent situation, that I will be thrown into and can do nothing but observe and await cessation of – this could easily be relating to Karen's and my relation, the frivolous sailor and the wrench engaged in promiscuous and playful endeavours, that turn into an emotionally tense situation that must be ridden out. Once the storm of this emotional turmoil is over I will find myself in a situation, where I have to overcome challenges, I am likely to have my heart broken and I will find myself in a situation where there is limited support and understanding available, though a few select allies will be able to help me out. The killing of the dinosaurs represent to me the fear of opening up to love – symbolism of pink – and that I will continue to approach this challenge until it is finally achieved, and integrated into my personality – the killing of the dinos – though this doesn't happen in one broad sweep.

Looking up themes: Desert – loss and misfortune – you may be suffering from an attack on your reputation, feelings of loss and isolation. Could signify my fear of ridicule associated with writing my thesis – where I position myself as an emerging shaman – and the loss of prestige I have been expecting for not being the person who writes a PhD, but instead facilitate that others can do this. Dinosaur – outdated attitude or belief, you may need to abandon an outdated habit or patterns of thinking – old issues coming back to haunt you – This I think is very much related to my ego-attachments of the “happy couple” and how “love” is supposed to be played out in a relation between two people – the fact that there are a couple of allies with me might signify a change in cognitive schema's on the whole issue on poly amorousness and being able to let go of the fears of Karen being with someone other than me. Alternatively it might represent conquering my fears of loss in a love relation and the killing a discovery of true, unconditional love.
    5. Nightwalkers and Sun lady

by , 10-20-2015 at 02:01 PM (Here be dragons)
I am walking up stairs in a dusty, old building with long, slanted windows letting in long rays of golden sunshines, thick as honey. I reach the top, a small cellar. It's already crowned in here; there is a strange bed made of polished, light green glass fashioned in a half cylinder with a thick blanket and a fluffy pillow in light cream. Sitting on the edge of it is a young, beautiful indian woman in a full, red and gold sari with stunning jewellery, almost as if she's ready for her wedding, her hair are glossy and almost black.
With her, standing a little on the side is a rather no descript man with brown short hair and sturdy clothes. Both look to the other side of the room, where Thor himself is towering, standing next to a pecuniar contraption: eight oversized hourglasses made of crystal and bronze, each one mounted on a mechanical bronze arm. as I watch it, the last one of the hourglass finishes, and the arm gracefully lift it over the other and put it back at the beginning of the line, flipping it over in the process. I feel like it's a clock, measuring daylight.
The brown haired man start talking to me, pulling my attention back to him. He is speaking about the lady, telling me that she is incredibly important, and that she has to be protected. As he talks, she carefully lay down on the bed, arranging her sari around herself. The man bring down the top part of the bed, closing it. It now looks like a bottle washed out at sea, with a complicated system of glass pipes coming out of the neck. He pours the content of a bottle on a rag and stuff the rag in one of the pipes.
Thor starts talking to me, he is passionate about the subject, telling me about nightwalkers wanting to take the sun lady away. While he says that, he grab the last hourglass, still with a little sand left, and flip it over. I realise that the light was fading and is back in full force, bathing the cellar in thoses long honey sunlight rays. The brown haired man locks the bed with a yin-yang seal, The lady is in a enchanted sleep. I look back to Thor; he is slighty tired, as moving the hourglass meant changing the course of the sun in the sky. He slowing breath out, the sun shining on his face, and instead of air it's a cloud of sand that get out of his mouth, the same sand that is in the hourglass.
    6. first visit to lucid city

      [18.10.2015, ~12a.m., WILD-attempt]
Having in mind to complete the move in quest, I prepare for WILD. My body relaxes and my mind wanders. I use hypnagogic imagery that appears to form my room. Moments later it seems to be stable. It seems to be day, there is shady sunlight and now I stand inside a room. First I check the main door. It opens inwards and is made from wood with a brazen handle. On the left side of the room there is a king size bed which has never been used. On the side of the room there is a desk and a wardrobe with a huge mirror. When I look into it, I see my normal day-to-day mirror image. I costs a lot of concentration to view the image and a feel a strange pull into the mirror. To avoid being sucked in, I look away and search for the glass door that lead to the garden. I see it, it has no handle at all, so I ask myself, how it is operated and protected. I simply ask the room/dream: "How is this door operated?". A Startrek computer voice explains it's voice operated and reponds to owner only, offers me to setup my profile now. I accept and get "authenticated". My AI has no 3D avatar. It is simply there and voice operated. That's fine, I probably like it that way best.
The room itself seems a little small, so I decide to have it bigger. The dream responds and stretches it, now there is more free space between bed and desk. Now I want to get out of the room and look for a pub. The moment I step out of my room a loud noise in waking life makes me wake up.

    7. Been There, Done That

      by , 11-28-2014 at 04:12 AM (The Kestrel's Dreams)
      November 26, 2014

I was inside some sort of video game, and I was completing a quest. But this was my second time doing the quest; I was on a dummy save file and was only getting the reward from the quest so I could send it to my main save file.

So, I was doing this quest so fast that NPCs thought I was some sort of God. I skipped a few steps too. Toward the end of the quest, I was talking with a few make NPCs who, the first time I'd played the game, had given my false information. You were supposed to go to that location and do some side quest in order to find out the NPCs had been mistaken, and I actually had to go to the Bell Tower. So when they told me what I was looking for was in some other location, I told them, "Nah I already know where to go. It's at the Bell Tower."

And they followed me to the bell tower to see if I was right. When I was, they were amazed and asked me how I knew all this. I ignored them and went to the next part of my quest: I had to climb this big ladder to get the final piece of the puzzle. But the wrongs were coated in something deadly to me, and so I had to go around asking NPCs for their shirts, so I could put the shirts on the wrongs so they wouldn't touch my skin when I climbed.

I got the last piece, and took it to this room that, now that I think about it, felt a LOT like a room in another dream from long ago... Anyways, I had to climb another ladder that was leaning against nothing. It was also super tall and went just within reach of a trap-door in the fielding of the room. I had to climb the ladder without it falling and attach the final piece to the trapdoor so that I could open it, to get into a glass dome at the top of the world with the reward in it. I remember that it was a little terrifying to be on the ladder even though it was the second time I'd done it.

I woke up when I picked up the quest reward.

    8. Dioramas and Rooster Tails

      by , 11-12-2014 at 04:05 AM (The Kestrel's Dreams)
      November 08, 2014

      Dioramas

I was a prince of some fantasy country, and there was a celebration for my family. I was the oldest son, and we all had to participate in this ceremony where we face ourselves. We were all sitting on our knees, Japanese Tee Ceremony style, on some pillows. Next to me, the floor opened up. It was dark, and the hole had a part that looked like it was stairs, and a part that seemed to go straight down. I thought it would be too easy, a trick, to go down the easier looking stair-like part, so I lowered myself down into the unknown, through the plain hole. My feet soon touched a platform, and I lowered myself lower so my eyes could adjust to the darkness. I kept lowering myself to platforms on the walls of this square-shaped vertical tunnel. It was a little like a well, but square-shaped.

I saw a point of light at eye level at some point, and I moved my head to get perspective and pinpoint where it was coming from. I leaned on the wall, and it moved. I realized I could slide the walls to either side; It opened the hole a little more, and so I slid another wall a few feet until there was a hole big enough for me to get through.

When I got through the hole, I was in a room that looked like it went around the original well-like tunnel. There were dioramas that moved lining the walls. You had to pump them or something to get them to move, but they were devices I was familiar with and fond of, so I knew how to use them all. They were all scenes from my life. I followed the room all the way around until I got to the diorama of this day, and was a little bit surprised and scared to see that there was one more diorama after it. When I mustered the courage to look at it, it was simply the garden with a piece of a stone wall missing. But it still bothered me somehow.

I went back up to the surface and told my family about my experience, and how the missing wall really bothered me. The foreboding feeling had grown since I'd seen it.

I think there was something about an uncle betraying us or something after that.

      Rooster Tails

I was at an entrance of a building that was on a lake. There were platforms to jump out onto, and I jumped to one, and it moved away from the building a foot or two. There were eels or something, maybe some huge catfish, in the water, and something making rooster tails in the water next to and around me. I kept jumping to new platforms, each one moving further and further away from the building, until there were no more platforms I could jump to. I was afraid of whatever was making the rooster tails in the water (think that scene from the Princess Bride with the man-eating eels)
    9. WBTB and couldn't get to sleep right away but it was worth it! (LD #12)

      by , 10-17-2014 at 04:06 AM (Sharpshoey's Lucid Journey)
Before: I set my alarm for 3:30. When I wake, I remember 0 dreams. I stay up for a little too long and when I MILD, I can't sleep. I fall asleep an hour and a half later.

      Dream 1
I have a dream about Cross Country where I have a race at my high school inside. I think that is weird because all our races are outside and it isn't supposed to be at my high school. I join the race right before it starts and everyone seems to be messing around. People are running backwards and doing crap but I still can't seem to catch up with the kids. I finally pass everyone and I'm in first. I keep running and I seem to take a wrong turn and am back at the starting line. I ask the dude if I can join the next race and he keeps saying it already started. I go to the basketball floor and look at the track above, which is a lot more expanded than IWL. I see Z on my team winning, and my friend W is right behind him. J is in a pack of kids and keeps sprinting, then jogging really slow. His strategy was working somehow. I am then in the library and my friend JD is there along with a bunch of other kids. He is a really good kid IWL and never gets into trouble but in this dream, he kept on getting told off for misunderstandings. I was telling everybody that I hadn't gotten enough sleep the night before, so that's why I did bad. (I couldn't fall asleep after doing a WBTB) JD goes over to a couch where his sister and her friends are and he hugs her. Her friends all join around and the librarian calls our XC Coach thinking JD is hugging random chicks. I say that she is his sister and the sister says that also but the librarian says that JD has gotten into enough trouble already so he deserves to be punished. The coach comes in and takes JD out. He has a tough time suppressing his tears and he says "one minute" to a random older kid. (He wouldn't of cried IWL. He isn't a baby) Everyone says "ooooohhhhh" and laughs a little. I leave the library and am in my cousin's house. I go into his computer room and lay down trying to sleep because I'm tired. I then think there is an evil in the house so I quickly leave and am back at the library. No one else is there so I decide its time for me to leave. I pack up some stuff and hope a car is outside so I an cover ground quicker.

I wake up and am disappointing I didn't have an LD because if I'd had an LD at least it would be worth not being able to fall asleep right away.

      Dream 2
I am leaving my garage and open my car door. I realize I'm dreaming. I sit down in my car seat and wonder if I'm actually not dreaming because everything seems pretty real. I do a nose plug RC to check and it works. I turn on the car and it turns on like it does IWL. I remember my goal to find my Dream Guide to teach me how to LD more and to teach me how to fly. (I'm going to use him/her to help me learn most things I can do in dreams) I start driving and my neighbor stops by me, so I stop too. He has one of my brother's friends with him. I get out of my car because they do and they have these large things used to chop tree branches. My neighbor throws it at me but I dodge it. I am kind of scared. There is a car between us. MY brother's friends throws his and I dodge that too. I pick one up and throw it bak and it hits my bros friend right in the chest. He looks surprised. My neighbor somehow has another one and I barely dodge it and it skims my head. That continued for a little bit and then I woke up.

      Dream 3
I was at a basketball game and my (dad?) was trying to get me. I was sitting in some bleachers with friends. Then we are at a hotel and I go into another room with someone and our two companions are in the other room. We are on a quest, and my companions are like form Lord of the Rings. When we start heading back to the room, I somehow know they will be gone. We see that the room is crystallized with ice and they are indeed gone. There is a dark cabinet in the corner of the room now, and I know that that's the cause of their disappearance. I already for some reason know what it is before my companion explains it and says its bad news.
    10. 22 Dec: A quest to regain control of the underworld

      by , 12-22-2013 at 05:26 PM (Lucid-schizo-dreamer)
non-dream dream semi-lucid lucid false awakening

I'm on a travel with a couple of girl friends, to a remote location where there is a labyrinthic underground like the one under our hometown. Ours was once a revered sacred place, protected by spirits and not for the weak of mind and heart, but accessible to the pure souls as a soul searching, spiritual growth journey. Unfortunately it is now haunted by all sorts of demons and dark creatures who started coming out of the undergrounds and attacking people in their own world. We want to meet the people in this twin town and see if they are going through the same problem and to seek alliances to fight evil. I carry precious gifts to offer to these people.
We arrive at night and we don't see a soul. We head to the entrance of the underworld, looking for answers. As we go deeper, something happens, we hear sounds, see shadows, we're not sure what happens, but I fall on the ground and all the precious vases and statuettes I was carrying get broken. As I pick up the pieces from the floor, feeling hopeless about it, a man appears.
He welcomes us and takes us to a larger open space, with a few doors on the rock walls. He asks what we're doing there and we explain. He says in this town they have indeed faced an increase in the dark energies and spirits, but they have found a way to control them, by moving themselves into the undergrounds and owning them. They have established dominance over the underworld and now share the space with the shadow creatures. The creatures tease them and sometimes are a bit dangerous, but they found a way to keep a balance, although it seems that people's lives over here are not easy or ever relaxed.
Still, he gives us a plan on how to take back the power over our underground domains. The plan involves taking over a route that leads directly to the center of the labyrinth and take control of its main sacred room. He says two female guards should be at the door at all times. He also says our main concern should be the werewolves, sworn enemies of our female warrior guardians order.
In fact, on our return home, we are attacked by a couple of werewolves, but they are not ugly fury beasts. During the day they take the form of handsome manly men. But I never let down my guard and we manage to fight back and scare them away. Still, there's a long fight ahead of us...

    11. Dec 3 Dream Journal: Hockey + Basketball = This Crap

      by , 12-03-2013 at 05:43 PM
I'm invited to a fancy mansion that has a slightly off-kilter architecture, like from the game Fable. I get a bird's-eye view, and it has a brown roof and is shaped like an elongated turtle.

I'm on part of a mystery or side-quest -- I'm there to do something. I speak with the head of the house guards, who informs me the grounds are in lock down. I cannot leave the premises until the quest is complete. So I run around, talking to various haughty-looking guests to gather clues.

I end up in the garage, where I picked up a basketball that is a little bit deflated. I inflate it with a bike pump, and go outside (so much for the lockdown) where I'm suddenly at my old house in Canada, and I'm going to shoot hoops at my neighbor's driveway baskets.

I see my neighbors B, G, and F, who look like last I remembered nearly 20 years ago -- only, B (who is a couple grades older than me) looks like he's on steroids. F is hanging on the rim. I don't know how he got up there, but now he has a 8-feet drop, and he doesn't want to let go.

Somehow, other people start showing up. One of them is some teenage girl who claims to be Kobe Bryant's biggest fan (this is exceedingly awkward for those who don't know about his... um... history). She insists on retrying my shoelaces to the current style, which is basically wrapping the laces around the entire shoe like you would tie up a roast.

The game gets underway, but it devolves into a city-wide obstacle course, where you score by putting the ball through ANY basket you can find, provided you aren't checked or tackled while searching. It becomes very physical, and Dream Knowledge indicates people are getting injured regularly.

I go up against a knight in full plate armor -- at this point, I'm back in Fable universe, but still playing the "basketball" game -- and I'm trying to figure out a way past his armor with my starting-weapon stick.

      I wake up.

      Facing the Goblin Hoard (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

My faithful companions and I enter the palace of the light goblins, seeking the Goblin Princess named Whisper. She had sent word to my Knight that she has some important information for us. The light goblins may be less savage than their kin, but we still must be careful. Humans in the palace are subject to intense scrutiny: one wrong move and we'll all be killed.

A young female goblin servant slips my knight a letter from the Princess. It reads: "I'm in the subconscious right now. You must meet me in the Requiem." We all exchange anxious glances. The Requiem--- home of the dark goblins--- is exactly where we did NOT want to go.

We begrudgingly make our way to the Market and buy as much fruit as we can, as tribute to the dark goblins. You won't get very far in the Requiem without a substantial food offering to pacify the greedy little beasts.

Then the time comes to enter the massive cave system known as the Requiem. We decide to go in groups of two to ease suspicion. The Dark Goblins tend to find humans amusing, even going as far as inviting large groups of them to attend events in the Requiem's inner chambers. However, getting to these inner chambers is easier said than done. The goblins along the way will find any excuse to snatch a human away before they reach their destination.

Because the goblins are confident in their vast numbers (and rightly so) we are allowed to bring in our weapons under the condition that they are sheathed at all times. I decide to bring my faithful scimitar, though I hope I won't be needing it.

I enter the caves with my friend Alma, a healer who is actually quite knowledgable about Goblin culture. After giving the doorman his part of the tribute, we make our way inside. An older she-goblin stops me a few minutes into our slow, wary journey. She wants to play a game with me. Apparently this game involves slapping me in the face with a mostly deflated balloon. I stand there and take it, hoping that she'll grow weary of the "game" and let me go. She tells me I'm not doing it right, that I'm supposed to cry out in pain. I realize she is kind of like a child who hits an adult and finds it funny when the adult pretends that the weak attack has injured them. The next time the she-goblin hits me, I cry out and pretend to be in pain. Unfortunately, an older male goblin watching nearby lets out an annoyed "shhhhh!"

"Ah, a shush from him means an execution. Too bad!" the old she-goblin cackles. I sigh in frustration and weigh my options. Resisting their attacks wouldn't do much good--- there are far too many of them to fight. Even if I could, it would put Alma in the middle of the danger. I have no choice but to run.

So run I do. I barrel into the annoying she-gob, sending her sprawling to the floor. I bolt through the door before me, cringing at the sheer number of goblins who begin chasing after me.

I run for a very long time, deftly taking unexpected turns and even throwing myself through a large stained glass window, but they always keep right on my heels. Maybe it's time to make a stand.

I climb up a pillar in a large cathedral like room, all the way up to the rafters. I figure that the goblins could only move single file along the narrow beams, thus allowing me to chop them down one at a time. But more by luck than anything, I somehow fall through a nearby window into a large courtyard where a lot of other humans are gathered for an event (including my comrades). Goblins are notoriously bad at recognizing individual humans in a crowd, so I blend right in and successfully escape. As long as I can hide my limp from the fall, they shouldn't recognize me...
    13. City of Mithril

by , 07-16-2013 at 03:01 AM (Chronicles of Ethos)
      City of Mithril

This dream started with Lucidis, Chris, and Claire entering the city they spotted in the previous dream. The city was built on a large oasis with the desert river running through the middle of the city. The city appeared to be mostly medieval in nature. The buildings in the city were made with a silvery-blue metal. It looked beautiful and it seemed magical. Within the city walls, it also felt much cooler than out in the desert.

Having just come out of the desert, they decided to take the day to relax and enjoy themselves. Chris and Claire decided to head to the tavern and rest there. Lucidis however wanted to explore the city. He was more interested in interacting with the people and learning about the city. By this point Lucidis had completely forgotten about the heart stone.

Lucidis wandered the city for a while and talked with a lot of people, but I won't go into too much detail. He learned that the city was built upon a mine that is abundant with a rare mineral known as mithril. Many buildings in the city were created with mithril, which was what gave them the silvery-blue look. I'm not 100% sure, but I think Lucidis also learned that the name of the city was Arinok, or something like that.

Lucidis also heard some stories about people disappearing in the mines and about mithril mysteriously disappearing. There was actually more to it than that, but I can't remember the details. Lucidis interpreted this as a quest and decided he would investigate it the next day.

The sun was beginning to set, so Lucidis went back to the tavern where the group would likely be staying for a few days. There were quite a few people there drinking and having a good time. They were likely there for some sort of fighting tournament that was to take place that night. Lucidis managed to find Claire relaxing at a table drinking what I'm assuming was wine. Surprisingly, Lola was there as well and talking to Claire.

Lucidis ordered a glass of orange juice and sat down next to them. Lucidis asked Lola what she was doing in Arinok. She told him that she and Rick were investigating some of the strange things that have been happening in the city. They were related to the stories that Lucidis heard earlier. It was then decided that both groups would try to complete this quest the next day.

Chris soon came back to the table and he looked pretty drunk. He said something about signing Lucidis and Claire up for the fighting tournament. Chris said he wanted to win the prize, but he was too drunk to participate. I can't remember what the prize was though.

Dream time skipped a bit and a large boxing ring was now present on the far end of the tavern. By this point the semi-final round was being finished by Lucidis. The final round between Lucidis and Claire was about to start. Lucidis was excited for this because it would be his first time fighting Claire with her stasis armor.

I'm having trouble recalling the fight, so I guess I'll just skip that. I do remember that the dream ended in the middle of the fighting.
    14. 30 day challenge

      by , 06-25-2013 at 06:23 PM (Maybe I'm Dreaming)
Shamelessly copied and pasted from LMRhone's 30 day challenge.

      Basic Requirements for the Challenge

      - No techniques for WBTB

      - Complete all exercises in EWOLD

      - Get at least 6 hours of sleep

      - Update my personal dream journal with the dreams for each day, if I forget to do this or wake up with full dreams but lose them throughout and only update a fragment, that day doesn't count.

      - I will use nothing to aid in my lucidity, just my own mind. The only "lucid aid I will use is apple juice because I drink it all the time. No difference though.

Goals for The Challenge (Not In-Dream)

      - To get lucid every night, preferably in every dream.

      - To remain aware unless absolutely necessary.

      - Find a reliable DS.

      Goals for The Challenge (In-Dream)

      - To get another lucid like the best one I ever had.

      - To overcome a deep personal fear.

      - All 5 TOTMs in one dream.

      - Get back to where I left off in the RPG prologue, stop the tornado, and sail to Cardia, while hopefully picking up other dreamers.

      - Have a fair amount of control. Not stressing about this.
    15. Spiders and chainsaws and fairies, oh MY!

Spiders and Chainsaws and Fairies, oh MY! (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

In my back yard at night, two of the giant spider people who live in the forest come to pay me a visit. They tell me that I am "invited" to play a game with them tonight. I must survive in the forest until sunrise to win the game. If I decide not to play, there will be serious consequences. They show me a vision of an innocent looking butterfly-girl being tied up in webs. I intuitively know that this vision represents a person I care about being taken by the spider people if I refuse to participate.

I go out and by the brightest flashlight that I can find, because the spider people are weak against light. This will be my only protection against a race of beings who can blend perfectly into the shadows and see in the dark like it's nothing. "I'm totally screwed," I mutter to myself as I head back to my house.

I would really like to find someone to come with me to play the "game," but everyone is too busy. (There is some kind of adventuring Guild at my house that I am a part of.) I come across Cheyenne in one of the back rooms and briefly consider asking her to join me, but I realize that I'd only be putting her in danger and that she is likely the person the Spiders will take from me. I've got to do this alone.

As I head out, a Werewolf who is part of the guild (and possibly an old character of mine from high school) asks me to go on a really important quest for him. I say that I will, but I have to play the Spider's game first.

When I get out in the forest, I hide myself under a tree and wait. After a few minutes of nothing happening, I get bored and decide to leave.
((So apparently it wasn't that important after all...?))

I take up my werewolf friend's quest and head out with my brother and my dad down the back road. It is a two part quest: part of it involves something deep in the forest, and part of it involves killing the daughter of a very important man in a village not far from here. We decide to deal with the girl first.

The gravel road should lead directly to the village, but there is a big red truck parked in a nearby field with two sentries. Our first plan is to sneak by unnoticed. We begin crawling low to the ground, but are spotted anyway. We stand up quickly as the truck approaches us. Time for plan B.

Before the two men in the truck can ask questions, I put on a stupid expression and point down the road. "We were wondering where this road leads to," I say amiably. I can see that the driver believes us not to be a threat.

"Oh, just follow us," he says and drives slowly down the gravel road. We follow for a short distance, until he stops just before the village and gets out. "I'll show you around, he says."

His passenger gets out as well. He is a GIGANTIC man with a chainsaw, which he revs threateningly. I am concerned about this one, but I play my part of the oblivious traveler.

The two men take us through the village, showing us different shops and various important people here. The man with a chainsaw follows at a distance, ready to cut us to bits at any moment.

At one point, my companions and I step just outside of the village to have a brief talk. There, we find a Fairy Ring. We stand in the middle of the ring. One of the people with me ((no longer my dad and brother, my companions kept changing throughout the dream)) says that this is a good sign and that we must ask the Goddess for her blessing in order to complete our quest. Suddenly fairies begins swirling around us, emitting a beautiful light. They swirl up to the very heavens, where we can see a vision of the Goddess smiling down at us. She sends the light back, even more beautifully than before, and tells us that we have her blessing.

We return to the village and have audience with the leader. We are hoping to gain knowledge of where his daughter is. I am sent looking for the leader's missing shoe, which I accidentally step on. An evil skeleton wraith lunges up from the shoe and starts attacking me. I shatter it to pieces, dispelling the spirit. Apparently we had needed this spirit for something, and the leader tells me he can not bring it back.

      I wake up shortly afterward.
