    1. Dream Journal Day 5: Night of Friday 03.11.2023 (NLD)

      by , 11-05-2023 at 01:18 AM
My childhood friend's house. This house is small (ish), old, rickety and crooked. It has some charm to it. There are several articles of furniture in lime green, enough to form a colour theme. From the kitchen, with an oven squeezed against the wall on the uneven wood floor, carpeted stairs rise up twisting round against the walls. The treads of the stairs are sunken with age.*

After we climb some way up the bizarre stairs, we get to the top, our heads almost bumping against the ceiling. The stairs finish in a dead end, the banister folding neatly around to form a balcony of sorts. Beyond, seemingly attached to the ceiling, are a large partly-open leather bag, its zipper facing towards us, and an irregularly shaped red box with a centre clasp opening. He tells me there are two spare rooms at the top of the house and he has the bigger one (his parents have the other). They have high security. To enter his room, which was once his grandma's, one must be his grandma or a trusted individual and say the correct password. I don't know any password and feel uncertain as I squeeze my head and shoulders into the opening of the box. But the next moment I'm inside the room and so is he.

His room has light grey carpet, a heavy old wooden table in the centre of the room surrounded by half-height bookshelves. A tall window in the corner opposite the entrance is framed by heavy floor-length curtains. The view outside is of a bright white sky interspersed with pale clouds.

I don't remember what we talk about but later on he has to go talk to someone else, another girl. I leave the house. But soon after I go back in. I'm jealous.
I'm surprised at myself for feeling this way - for in real life, I don't have the slightest crush on him. I creep back up the stairs until I am again in front of the strange double entrance. From the further one (to his parents' room) I hear voices. That's where they went. I once again insert my head and shoulders into that box to enter his room while holding a small, dusty old blue cloth-bound book. I crouch down and place the book on his table trying to be as quiet as possible. I lean against the wall intending to listen in, but I don't hear anything.

From time to time I hear noises. I hear his parents come back home and move about below, and try to hide against the thick curtains unless they hear me. But they evidently don't, so I come out. Then I hear him returning to his room. I start to hide behind the curtains again but I realise I won't be able to stay hidden for long while he's here. So I bravely stand up as he enters. He sees me, is surprised for a moment, but laughs. I tell him, embarrassed, that I'm only there for the book. But his teasing eyes say he knows that's not the truth. Blushing hotly, I say goodbye and leave his house, hurrying away down the road
      .

*It need not be said that his real house looks absolutely nothing like this.

    2. Tiny dream fragments | [11.06.2019]

by , 06-11-2019 at 01:52 PM (Draeger's Dream Journal and Documentation)
      A bizarre fragment:
Seemingly, an anime-styled woman asks me something which I don't remember. I also don't remember anything else from this dream.

      Dori, what are you doing?
I am standing in the living room. The TV is on, but I don't remember what it showed, but I think I see two people, close to each other. Likely an event in a series. Dori, my cat, plays around with an object in the doorway to the living room, which I remember as disc-shaped and Ronja, her sister, is sitting on a towel on the living room table. For some reason, Dori doesn't react to what I want her to do and I am despairing, I think I remember even almost crying.
    3. Not closing your velcro shoes

      by , 12-22-2017 at 04:12 PM (BahamutZERO's dreams)
This dream was so bizarre that I wasn't sure if I was even gonna journal it. But I remembered it, so...

It was a dream that was all about the concept of "not closing your velcro shoes". I was in a train station with 2 friends of mine, and the 3 of us were wearing velcro shoes, and they were open. The train arrived, and the front looked like a big unclosed velcro shoe on a railway. We went on the train and the train conductor warned us not to close our velcro shoe, or else something bad might happen. We went on the train, left our shoes open, and nothing bad happened, we were just talking about not closing your velcro shoes.

    4. Gauzed Man

by , 09-15-2011 at 11:42 AM (Oneiric Mirror)
      I´m in a cemetary, watching someone´s grave. I´m not alone, but i can´t see who´s with me.
The person who´s with me lift´s up the marble stone of the grave and drops it with a deafening, huge bang.
The dreamscene changes, and i´m with H and E near an old, big house.

We were in the middle of a psychic session and suddenly this humanoid falls next to us.
The humanoid figure was all wrapped in gauze, and the only thing we can see from his body is the nose.
He was dressed with a pajama from some sort of hospital.

The dream "told" me that that person is my grandfather, and at the same time my and H´s father.

We took him to a madhouse. When we got there, H, E, me and the gauzed humanoid sat in some sort of waiting room with
dirty benches. The floor has white and black tiles.

Suddenly one of the patients asks for my help to peel off a pear, because he´s afraid of the pear´s peel.

I looked at H and he assured me that he would take care of the gauzed man. I got up and went to help the patient.

      Night before 7/7/11

My friends and I were searching for something in the wilderness- I don't know what- when we found a girl my age (14) who apparently ran away and found a house in the wilderness. And let me tell you, she was beautiful. I could go on and on about her but I would probably bore you, so I'll skip to the details. Anyway, she played this 'game' where you have a long rope and there's a rope net high up off the ground (maybe 30 feet) and somehow you swing under the net with your rope... if you don't understand, it's okay because my dream was very bizarre after I met her. She was very much into me as I was into her, and we hung out a lot and kissed and stuff. About 2/3 of he way through I told my self "this must be a dream... this could never happen in real life!" and thus became lucid. My friends and I played her 'game' and there were attack dogs under the net so we had to be careful. About this time, I lost lucidity and woke up, it's okay though because it was a good dream.

I awaken in my bed, i am unaware that im dreaming because i had been struggling to get back to sleep after really waking up at 2:45. i leave my bedroom and go downstairs to get a glass of water, then sit down to watch TV, i turn it on and a bizarre scene plays out, i see two guys standing side by side, in front of a mirror that seems to be acting like water. the guys are talking about whats on the other side, then suddenly one of them gets pulled through and trapped on the other side, the other guy runs to get help, then i awaken in my bed, completely confused

      DILD

The way that I gained lucidity today was very bizarre, and under weird circumstances. I looked at a clock as a reality check, after my friend pointed out a tiny fish swimming in the murky water of a dirty bucket/bin that was sitting on my track field at school which I found odd above all the otter totally bizare things going on around me. Long sentence. Its hard to explain but I only mentioned the part above so that I will be ableto remember later. Upon lucidity, I noticed my dad start to say weird things to me about lucid dreams I believe, tips or something, but I wasn't listening. I also think it's worth noting that this has been my only LD that didn't start in my bed. Anyways, I found it interesting when I looked at a clock too; it was flashing numbers like usual, but this time it was even flashing videos of football games. I dont know why, but I decided that I should jump up and try and fall/sink through the ground to a different location, and as I was doing so, my alarm went off.

What happened leading up to this dream was bizare too, this is (I believe) the first time that I've had a long dream leading up to lucidity. I was at our schools soccer field-which was where I had a track meet yesterday- and I was actuall on the soccer team. We had went inside the high school, and I was being extremely rude and cocky towards the Otha younger leagues that were listening to their coach in the halls. It was like I had to earn my respect from them, I even bumped into one with a stiff shoulder, knocking him over, and holding him on the ground by his kneck. When we arrived at the bathroom, which was our destination, my conscience set in and I started to cry. One of the little kids on our team told asked me what position I played, and told me I'd be great no matter where I was. I then went back to the coach of the younger kids team and apologized, causing him to forgive me.

    8. Nightmare Game & No Reflection

      by , 02-09-2011 at 03:25 PM
      Nightmare Game
Let's see if I can explain this for you. It's actually very interesting, and I found it very scary - so keep reading!

I was with my Dad, ready to play a videogame, but the way I accessed the save files was very weird.
There was a cylinder of stone, which had small angels carved into it. Below each angel it said the name of the level I was on, and the time and date I had saved at. There was also a statue of a tree (I think), and other carvings on rocks. It was like this huge centrepiece of carved stone, and I could access the save files of the game by interacting with the statues in real life. Very odd, I know. I chose to delete a couple of save files. The statues broke apart and fell into a moat of water around the centrepiece. Again, very strange.

Something about the angels, the save files, made me afraid. It was like I was preparing myself for a journey. A dark descent...
The game was top-down, set in the dungeons of a castle, I believe. There were demons, living dead, all manner of creatures which could drive a man to insanity.
But this was no easy hack and slash adventure game.
It was about creeping through dark corridors, hoping you wouldn't be seen, hoping you wouldn't be killed. It was a game, yet it was real at the same time. Imagine Amnesia from a top-down view, with weapons and more creatures. And then make it real.
This game was terrifying. But you know what? It was addictive. The fear and the adrenaline pushed me and my Dad onwards through blood-stained halls, seemingly empty passages, tombs, catacombs, crypts, and more, slaying horrible enemies all the way.
We played and played for ages, each step we took putting us in more danger.

      -recall skip-

My character walked up out of a cellar, into a large modern house. It was eerie, and contrasted with the somewhat medieval setting of the world below. But something was wrong.

It seems that fear manifests itself quite strongly in dreams. It becomes a part of the world - it's not just a feeling any more, it creeps into everything. You can't escape it - everything feels wrong when you're afraid. Anything can turn against you in a dream - nothing is solid, nothing is permanent. An empty room could fill with enemies desperate to tear your heart out and feast on your living body.
This feeling haunts me in every nightmare I have.
I know subconsciously that every room I enter is putting me in more danger. The fear inside my brain can create more horrible things, causing more fear. There is no escape.

There was a % above my character, next to a skull. I knew that if this gauge reached 100%, my character would have some sort of seizure, and demons would manifest in his world, ready to kill him. It was horrible - I was battling my character's own sanity.
I exited the game, but the fear followed me. Exiting the game was pointless. It was real, it was still there. The gauge referred to me - not just my in-game character.
I had to research this medical condition which caused hallucinations - I had something to do with the vascular system (it doesn't exist, but in the dream it did) - and at any moment something could just "pop" and I would be plunged into a world of terror.
I reached for a nearby laptop, but I couldn't find Firefox on the start menu or desktop.

      End of dream.
Wake up, then go back to sleep.

      No Reflection
This dream wasn't scary, unless you count the fact that I nearly slipped down a huge waterslide (hey, I'm afraid of heights).

I was on some sort of desert fortress. It was a large building, and the architecture was almost alien in design. Think "Sandtrap" from Halo 3.
There was a gravity lift, which would shoot me over to another "arm" of the building a few hundred feet away.
I walked up to the gravity lift, and was flung into the air - but instead of going the full distance, I landed in the sand below, in the middle of the gap. I hit a piece of scrap metal.
Standing up, I walked towards some steps, back onto the strange building (or alien ship, who knows).
I went through a doorway, which lead to a normal dining room - except at the far end, there was the start of two waterslides! As I walked over to get a better look, I felt myself slip - oh no! I was sitting on the precipice of the second slide, feeling the water run underneath me. I struggled upright, and backed away from the edge. My subconscious does everything it can to make me do fall down huge drops, or go on rollercoasters and waterslides. Every time there's a perilous drop, I slip or find myself sliding towards it, almost like I'm being dragged. I think it's because I really don't want it to happen, so it does.
I turned around and faced the rest of the room.
There were some people I didn't recognise inside, now. They told me their names, and I told them mine.
"Yes, we know who you are," a middle aged woman said.
I had the feeling that I was famous or something, except I'd forgotten it.
"You know me? How?" I asked. "What did you see me in? What did I do?"
She mentioned something on TV or the theatre, I can't remember. My Dad appeared at some point, too.
My vision blurred and I felt dizzy, as a result of banging my head against the metal on the desert floor earlier. I walked over to the table, and looked in a big mirror on the wall. I couldn't see myself or my Dad! I had no reflection, but I could see lots of people eating dinner at the table in the mirror. When I looked for real, I saw nobody sitting there.
I said to my Dad, "Dad you have to look at this, quick! We've disappeared or something, just look at the mirror!"
The middle aged woman was still there, so I told her about our problem. She took out a camera to test if it would pick us up, but that seemed to trigger something.

Floating tiki heads started flying through the door, angered for some reason. They looked a bit like this.

I won't let them take me! I thought - even though I wasn't lucid, I managed to project white light at them, and shrouded myself in it. It was a sort of energy, and I used these powers to fight off the tiki heads.
      End of dream.

There was a sort of false awakening too, or a "false reality", but it wasn't very exciting and I can't remember it well, so this is all for now!
      As always, comments are appreciated.
    9. Sweet shop café

      by , 12-20-2010 at 01:00 AM
Ever since I started this DJ, I've been remembering a lot more dreams, which is great! Back to the good old days - I'll soon be lucid dreaming like before.

I was in a small shop in town, with a staircase that lead upstairs. Naturally, I went up the stairs.
It was a large café of sorts. There was a long counter, which displayed delicious treats.

I met with my sister at a table. She had ordered me some food - I think it was pizza.
But here's the thing - all the food served here was made of sweets (or candy as americans call it)! Yep, everything was sugary. I'm not sure if it started out exactly like this, maybe the food was normal at first. But that's how it ended up, as the dream progressed.

      Remember these?

Yeah, it was like that, except on a much bigger scale.

I remember being very hungry, and the dream lasted quite a long time.
I talked with my sis', and she bought me food. I don't remember the specifics, only being hungry and having an interesting time.

Often my food dreams are like this - I'm hungry but never seem to get satisfied, probably because of real-life hunger.

In the end, I walked up to the counter. There was a picture of a delicious burger - I was so hungry, and it looked very tasty.
But for some reason, I didn't realise it would be made of confectionery.
      [IMG][/IMG]
I remember looking at the picture, thinking it looked fantastic. On show was also pizza, pasta, and more.

But it was all sugary and sweet.

This was a very odd dream I think. Not as naturally bizarre as some others, but the fact it was in a sort of normal setting, yet with the odd feature of having sugary food. Haha.

    10. My first lucid dream (on purpose)

      by , 11-02-2010 at 03:30 AM
On the third attempt of the night (after waking up after 2 other REM cycles and realizing I hadn't tried to do reality checks or notice dream signs) as they say "3rd time's the charm", I came to the realization that I was dreaming and in doing so had my 1st lucid dream that I had intended.

I can't remember much preceding the point when I started to lucid dream, but it had something to do with a tin roof that was covered in large mounds of pine needles. I jumped off the roof into the park (football oval). A girl through a large frisbee styled object towards me. It was a large doughnut made out of the same material that tents are (I forget the actual name). As it was coming towards me, I jumped to land on it, the same way you would hold onto a doughnut that you drag behind a boat in the water. For reasons I can't explain, I realized this was a dream. I then preceded to fly around the houses. The doughnut disappeared at some point.
I flew across the road, to what I realized was my neighbour's house (I had flown over my own house and hadn't noticed it.). I landed on the roof (the house was 2 story, even though in RL its only one), jumped down to beside the house (It became apparent that this was my neighbourhood but modified ). Then a girl noticed me. My neighbour and this girl, who just happened to be there, came looking to where I was. I took off across the road again, to another house, where my brother appeared wanting to ask me something. A shooed him away, so that I could hide from my neighbour and the girl who were looking for me. I rushed around to the back of the house and took off from the ground slowly spiraling up around the patio roof that i had gotten stuck under, and drifted over my backyard.
A man, who was supposed to be my next door neighbour, was in a US army uniform in my pool, acting as if it was normal to be there fully dresses bobbing up and down, his head submerging and bobbing out of the water (It only, now occurs to me that the man is an actor, though I do not remember his name or any movies he has been in) He questioned why I was flying, and I came up with the story that I was a ghost. Saying "why else would I be flying" feeling it necessary to explain without saying I was dreaming. I decided to continue this idea.
I flew across the road and spoke to some imagined neighbours, who invited me inside and we sat around discussing what it was like to be a ghost, to the 8 or so more people that joined us, who supposedly lived there too. I was convincing them that I was a ghost, that became solid only once in a while. Which explained why I wasn't floating through things and why I could hold things. I even managed to clap my hands properly. I kept discussing my made up situation until I woke up.
I had full control over my movements, but only some control over the surroundings.
    11. The Only Survivor At My School

      by , 10-25-2010 at 12:45 AM
I was walking to school and I heard that everyone was dropping dead. I investigated the school and heard that it was caused by the school food (it's just that bad) and that the school food had a super-deadly disease, and the only way of treating it was to bathe in butter. I was running around looking for butter and I wasn't too worried cause I hate school food and bring my lunch. Everyone died and I woke up. Strange.

    12. Glow People

      by , 07-27-2010 at 04:23 AM
Most of the characters in the dream are what I have deemed "Glow People", they have a glowing line right above their stomach and I think some sort of special powers.

The Glow People bleed from their "weak spots", which are any scars that they have, when they are nervous.

In the beginning of the dream there is a mother, father, and child (I am watching in the father's perspective). The mother is kidnapped by a group of men that are not "glows" and then they come back for the daughter. This same group had tried to sexually assault the mother earlier, but she was able to fight them off.

(Switch perspectives of characters, now daughter)

Years pass by and the daughter is kept as a prisoner by her kidnappers. She escapes during an unlikely fire in a public building.

More years later the daughter runs into a black "glow" at an outside market. She immediately begins bleeding from scars on her face, so now the man knows that she is nervous. The man also knows the small scar on her forehead is from a long time ago, but a large one across her cheek is more recent. The girl feels threatened and flees from the man and then runs into a young, female "glow" in a public restroom
