    1. Clash at the Alamo

      by , 05-21-2013 at 04:06 AM
The second of two LDs from the morning of 05/18/2013. This was a big, big dream, and this dream and I did not always get along. This was my first serious attempt at meeting NewArtemis for a dream sharing attempt.

I also got into a big fight with a powerful DC that escalated into a me against the world situation. I could have handled this a lot better. My self-control wasn't what it should be... but it was still kinda awesome.

Lucid #96: Clash at the Alamo

I'm Marty McFly from Back to the Future, driving my DeLorean on a set of rails that stand hundreds of feet over a bay. The DeLorean starts to shake as it picks up speed and before I can make a time jump, the rails end and the car goes plummeting toward the sparkling water.

I brace for impact and the DeLorean flies to pieces as it strikes the bay. Miraculously, I'm unharmed, and I thrash about for something to hold on to so that I can get my bearings and figure out what to do. One long, fin-like piece of metal from the car bobs to the surface and I grab onto it. The moment that I do, an unseen engine roars to life and takes off like a jet ski.

As I'm racing across the bay,
I realize that this has to be a dream. After riding for a moment, I'm perhaps a hundred feet from shore. I leap off the impromptu "jet ski" and fly the remaining distance, landing in a stone plaza that stands at the water's edge.

I remember that I'm planning to meet NewArtemis at the Alamo for a shared dreaming experiment. I turn toward the water, raise my hands up in the air, and make an announcement to all of the DCs. Most of the passerby stop and turn to look at me. "The Alamo is right behind me! That's right -- Alamo right behind me!" I imagine it in detail, rebuilding my mental map, forgetting and scrubbing out the buildings that were there before and replacing it with my image of everything that I remember about the Alamo. I continue this until I can think of nothing of what's behind me except for this image of the Alamo.

I turn around, expecting to see the Alamo... and there it is! The stone's a little darker and the construction looks a little too new to be quite right, but it's more than close enough of a lookalike for me. I walk around past the front entrance to a courtyard. The geography is different in this dream from that of the real Alamo, and I come to a stone wall with a little alcove and a bench. There's a woman sitting on the bench and we look at each other immediately.

She gets up and approaches me right away. She doesn't look like NewArtemis' DC has in the past, but I'm not sure of anything yet. She speaks first: "I'm here to meet someone. How about you?"

"So am I," I say, studying her. She's roughly the same height as Art's DC but her skin is paler, her hair curlier, her build heavier, and her face is different -- broader, different nose, different shape... just different. "But you're not her, are you? I don't think you're [NewArtemis]."

She smiles noncommitally, but I continue. "That's okay," I continue. "Let's still do the passphrases and gestures." I speak my chosen word to the DC and perform my chosen gesture. She doesn't bother speaking a passphrase in return but she does perform a gesture. (These have been reported to a 3rd party who is not NewArtemis just in case she's able to guess them.)

"Well, I need to go!" the woman says. She walks out of the alcove and passes me. As she goes, she becomes a much older lady, blonde, mid-50s. She grows to an enormous height, probably close to 8 feet tall. She's wearing shorts and I see that her legs are covered with a crisscrossing patchwork of scars.

I contemplate following, but I'm distracted by a man who's sitting at the top of a stone wall nearby, staring at me with a malicious grin on his face. He's in his late 30s with close-cropped reddish-blonde hair. The guy keeps staring at me with that joyless grin and I know that he's looking for trouble with me. I want no part of it, so I turn and walk away.

He hops down from the wall and grips my right forearm with his right hand, twisting my arm around so that my hand is near my head. I try to pull my arm out of his grip but when I yank, it doesn't budge. He laughs, shaking his head as if he can't believe that I would bother trying to defy him. "You're never leaving here," he says. "I mean it. You are never leaving here." I yank my arm again but I feel as weak as a kitten.

I know I have to turn this around fast. I grab him by the back of the head with my left hand and begin to imagine my adversary as frail and lethargic. "You're so weak and tired," I tell him, trying to sound compassionate, even though I'm boiling with rage. "There's just no strength left in you at all." And I gently move to lay him down on a nearby table. I think of him as totally weak and barely able to move. His grip slips from my arm and he flops backward onto the table.

"And small," I say, pressing on his head with one hand and his feet with the other. He begins to shrink. His hair has turned jet black now, and his eyes close. I squeeze him together, thinking of him as so tiny, and soon he shrinks to the size of a child, then to the size of a baby, then disappears into his clothes entirely. My self-control cracks and I ball up his clothes, throw the bundle on the ground, and give it a vicious stomp. I wonder for a moment whether I've gone too far and hope for a moment that the bundle was empty. I walk through a nearby archway, not sticking around to find out more.

I emerge in a cafeteria. A table of 6 or 7 teenagers immediately looks up from their meals at me. "It's him," one of them says, and they all get to their feet and come after me. I fly through a nearby doorway and emerge in a large, empty room with a skylight. I fly up to the skylight, intending to phase through it, but something seems to restrain me from getting high enough. I run through a doorway into a drugstore that dead-ends in a frosted glass window. I vault toward it, phasing through onto a street scene.

There are police everywhere on the street. I know that they're looking for me. There are strange little ball-shaped hoverbots scanning the streets with cameras, also trying to track me down. I sprint up to one and kick it against a nearby wall. With a pop, it breaks into two smoking, fizzling halves.

Everything seems to be happening too fast for me to control. I run down the street, looking for some way out of this fear. I want to buy time to calm down, so I phase through the door of a nearby house. Cops are turning the place over while the family, a husband and wife and their little girl of about 8 are glued to the TV. One cop notices me as I walk in, but I swoop in on him, grab him from behind, and choke him unconscious. The other two cops don't seem to notice any of this, and the little family stares obliviously into their TV sets.

I watch the TV for a moment. It's some sort of political propaganda which claims that the moral code of their "great society" is built upon a foundation of classic arcade games like Centipede, Pac-Man, and Donkey Kong. I'm torn -- on one hand, I find top-down, statist morality codes repugnant. On the other hand, I sure do love classic arcade games.

I phase out through the back of the house into the yard. The cops yell at me as I pass and I hear them calling for backup. The back yard is peaceful for a moment before the wail of what sounds like an air raid siren fills the air. I look up at the sky, feeling helpless, trying to find peace for a moment. But all I can think is They're coming for me.
      The dream ends...
    2. Under Construction

      by , 04-25-2013 at 03:47 PM
The good news for this LD is that the light switches worked great! The bad news is that my prospective memory wasn't the best and my DC summons didn't work like they should, but I had fun trying. Some more focused mental prep and reminding myself of my goals would have helped, I think, so I'll just blame the short WBTB.

      Lucid #89: Under Construction

I'm walking down a hall in my office with my friend "Leroy" and one other guy. The hallway is dimly lit and even though we're far from any windows, somehow I know that it's night outside. We're looking for some room that we can use to host a remote meeting that's scheduled to start in a few minutes.

The door at the end of the hall has been replaced with a thick sheet of plastic and the entire area looks like it's under construction. I think, "How do I know that this isn't a dream?" and
I become lucid. I run my fingers over the wall, and it feels just like the walls at the office. "[Leroy], I'm having a lucid dream." Leroy doesn't respond and just stares robotically ahead. I continue to mutter about how I'm dreaming, but the target audience is really just me -- Leroy seems to have checked out.

We reach the end of the hall and I phase through the plastic into the next room, which should be a large, windowed room of cubicles, adjoining offices and meeting rooms. The windows are there but all of the furniture is missing and the room is incredibly dark. I reach for a switch on the wall without looking, knowing that it will be there, and flip it. The lights come on and I watch as the room quickly populates itself with gym equipment! I see a treadmill, a couple of stationary bikes, and a weight tree with 45-pound plates appear. I stare at the weight tree for a moment, and the image wavers self-consciously, forming odd little rectangles and finally disappearing entirely.

I decide to "give the room a moment", and look over my right shoulder at the wall for a few seconds and then look back. The room is still mostly the same but now there are five or six arcade-style redemption games arranged back to back in a circle in the middle. (The sort of ticket-winning games that you might find at Chuck E. Cheese's.) I take a quick lap around the games to size them up. During the lap I notice that Leroy is still standing by the room entrance and still seems unresponsive, so I don't worry too much about him.

I have the nagging sense that I'm supposed to be doing something but I can't remember what it is. I try to think of the tasks that I had planned but nothing comes to mind, not Task of the Year or Task of the Month. I remember talking with NewArtemis about trying to see whether her DC could shapeshift the way that she can in dreams, so I attempt a handshake summon, averting my eyes and extending my right hand. I do it incorrectly, though, more asking for her to show up rather than expecting that she will. Nothing happens for a while and at the end I rather pathetically say, "[NewArtemis], don't leave me hanging!"

Now I've become fixated on summoning so I decide to try getting Xanous to join the scene. Again I do the handshake summon, but the result's the same. I think of shapeshifting again and realize that Xanous can do this too. For some reason I remember that he uses the term "blutbad" in conjunction with shapeshifting so I randomly blurt out "Blutbad!" like that's going to help somehow. No idea what that was all about, but it doesn't work!

Edit: I remembered one more part of the dream. I give up on the summoning for a moment and try speaking directly to the dream. "Show me something important!" Nothing happens, though, and I try this twice more before giving up.

Amazingly, the thought of simply phasing through the walls and flying off into the night doesn't occur to me. I turn my attention to the redemption games, hoping that this could be fun and might even reanimate Leroy. I stand in front of one machine that's about 6 feet high and has a joystick on the front and a tall, tapering tower of lights inside its case. The lights are illuminated in a wave that moves repeatedly from top to bottom. I place my hand on the joystick, noting the little red button on top, and the dream starts to fade. I feel it coming and ready myself for DEILD, but
when I emerge from the dream I'm too awake to go back in.

I was at this place that was kind of like an amusement park and arcade combined. Pretty sure it had a dinosaur theme. I walked outside ofthe area I was in and saw this iPad filled crane game. It was 50 dollars to play, but I did it anyway. I won one on my first try.

    4. The Menthol Arcade

      by , 02-09-2013 at 04:31 PM
This was a short but pleasant lucid after drinking a 3-bag brew of peppermint tea during my WBTB. I woke up for the WBTB on the late side (4:45 or so), so I didn't stay awake for very long. Probably because of this, my waking life memories were a little tough to access.

      Lucid #64: The Menthol Arcade

I'm in a dark arcade playing Street Fighter II with my friend SC. We're talking smack and he says, "I bet you can't win a sumo wrestling match." I say something really brilliant like, "Bring it!" and the game starts.

I'm on the righthand side and both of us are playing as E. Honda. I look down at the game's controls and I'm disappointed to see that it has no joystick and each side has only 3 buttons instead of the usual 6. The weirdness of this sticks in my mind and after thinking it over,
      I realize that I'm dreaming.

The game starts and neither of us moves at first. I jam on the buttons a bit and my player starts E. Honda's signature "Hundred Hand Slap". I will him to start drifting to the left and he slides along for a few seconds.

Before I can land a shot, the screen goes black. I look over to my left and SC has vanished. I'm completely alone and all of the machines are off now. I turn away and start to explore the rest of the arcade.

The arcade's divided into two sides, and the side that I'm on is arranged around an enormous air hockey table that's at least 4-5 times larger than a normal one. I wonder what someone would do if the puck got stuck in the middle of that huge thing. On the opposite side of the room I see an emergency exit. I think about exploring the other side of the arcade but it occurs to me that I probably have goals I want to work on, and outside seems like a better bet.

I keep verbally reminding myself that this is a dream until I reach the exit. I push on the crash bar, the door swings open, and I'm staring out into a milky gray void. I'm nervous about walking out there but I feel like there's no going back now.

There's a bit of a drop as I step into the void, but my feet land on something solid a couple of feet down. I feel like I'm wearing my work shoes. The scene goes totally dark, but I'm ready to DEILD. I start swinging my arm around, imagining that I have a gladius. Nothing happens for a few seconds, but I still feel relaxed. I start swinging harder, throwing in a few man-grunts for emphasis.

Some sort of wind sweeps up from below and picks me up off of my feet. The wind starts to swirl and soon turns into a cyclone. I can feel myself spinning and spinning, and I think that this is great -- LaBerge suggests spinning as a way to change scenes. I'm confident it will work, and sure enough I see a colorful, spinning scene start to emerge.

The wind dies down, the spinning slows, and I'm gently set down on a vast, jeweled mosaic that stretches in every direction as far as I can see. There's a slightly reddish glow on the horizon and what looks like a set of distant mountains. I'm awestruck by what I see, but it's just a few seconds
      before the dream ends.
    5. The Subconscious Arcade

      by , 12-26-2012 at 04:59 AM
This was the first of three LDs from early Christmas morning. This was my first time directly experiencing a creative work of my subconscious. I was grateful for the few minutes that I got, but I'd have enjoyed more. Some other night!

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

Lucid #48: The Arcade of the Subconscious

I am "in" a side-scrolling video game that's drawn in the style of a pencil sketch. My avatar is a small stick-figure man who runs, jumps, and shoots his way across a grassy landscape where boulders roll and hop all around, presenting a constant danger of smashing him flat.

I dart back and forth as boulders bounce over my head when I randomly
realize that this is all a dream. The dream stays perfectly stable and I am able to continue playing further into the game. I (or my stick figure man) shoot at a boulder that's rolling toward me and find that within four shots it bursts into harmless fragments.

I continue running further along the track and all the while more and more boulders make their way onto the playfield. It's getting difficult to avoid them and I'm starting to feel pretty stressed by the difficulty. A new enemy presents itself, some sort of mole that tunnels underneath the floor where I'm walking and blasts a huge column of dirt up at me. It's a big distraction, and it's not long before a boulder strikes my player, knocking him horizontal (and presumably dead.)

The game ends immediately and cuts to a title screen.
Why can't I remember the title? I watch the title screen, hopeful that it'll let me continue playing. After a few seconds of this, the game switches to a demo mode where I am no longer in control. I'm contemplating what to do about this when the dream ends.

    6. Theme park skate shop

by , 10-22-2012 at 11:44 AM (Tales from the sun chaser.)
I was at some theme park that reminded me of Disney, and a few of us were erratically arguing about nothing untill I stopped everyone and they realized it. We split up for bit and I decided to go arcade hopping. One guy was in there with his son and he was saying he there all day and was staying at least untill 7. I regrouped with my sis, saw him, and told her he was a pretty good guy.

I headed to another one, and the place was just sketchy. It looked like one of the arcades at those carnivals that no one ever cleaned. it also had these bootleg games in it. I was scoping out what they had to offer when I noticed they had a section of hentai games. The wtf factor went through the roof when I saw kids in that section.

I had another one where i was in a skate shop and I was torn between what I wanted to get. They had my size, but I just wasnt sure because I know I'm going to be locked in to whatever I chose for at least a year or two.

    7. [Shoplifting My Outfit (A Tragic End?)]

by , 10-06-2012 at 02:18 AM (Searching For The Center of Everything)
      [Thursday, October 4th, 2012]
(I had dreams before this, but this is the latest that I remember.)

I'm at school. It's a school in downtown city. Me, Alex, Alex's Mum and a few other people stayed after school had
ended to accomplish some goal. There's an emergency and we stayed despite it. We needed some kind of information
maybe? We park in one spot in a parking garage-like area and trace our steps to the front door. We get inside.
      <memory fades>

We're headed back out- apparently someone (the second in comand of the school) stayed all night too and is nearby.
Somehow people might know we're here. We panic and try to get out without getting caught. On the way out,
everyone seems to have forgotten where we parked. I point in the right direction to the right.
Alex's Mom: "Oh yeah, I know."
She doesn't sound as hateful to me. But she still sounds slightly unhappy. I'm thankful for this nonetheless.
We trot through the parking lot road the leads to an alleyway. Me and Alex's Mom have a small but relatively friendly
conversation on the way there. We're just about to enter an alleyway when I notice... I'm missing shoes! The alleyway
is dirt mostly. Halfway through- We walk through some deep wet mud and I get my pants dirty.
"Ugh." Everyone sympathizes with me. "Don't worry, there's some water up ahead I can wash myself off with."
I'm going to have to wash my feet since we're getting in Alex's Mom's car. I roll up my pants and walk through
semi-deep water. I shake my feet a few times to get as much of the mud off as possible. We get to the car and my
memory skips. I just remember feeling my ears, and they were pierced again. (They aren't in waking life anymore.)

We're heading to the mall now. We stop at a store before this to let everyone use the bathroom.
It's a small ripoff ToysRUs store. I walk around and look at the clothes first. I have no money and I want to steal
something so bad, but I have no big pockets. I'd have to wear it out. I plan a robbery in the back of my mind. Then at
least I wouldn't look like shit for the mall.

Kids surround me while I look. They're extremely loud for me. A few approach me and ask me questions. I ignore
them for the most part and keep browsing. On the center circle rack, there's lots of "plaid overshirts" in really neat
colors. Some are soft... some are thick like giant thick coats. Almost like my red coat! I keep looking and find a few
tanktops. One tanktop I find isn't really my cup of tea... it looks almost like an ugly orange+green mud color. It doesn't
fit me either, so I take it back off. It was an "M", I noticed.

The kids repeatedly question me. I don't mind them too much and I answer them and talk to them. After awhile
though, I start to play with them. One plays hide-and-seek tag with me or something. I hide in the clothes rack that I've
been browsing and note that you'd have to bend down to even see my feet! Now hidden, I notice a kid running in
circles around the rack. I reach out and try to grab him or something, but he ends up knocking the entire rack over on
me. "SHIT, KID!" I suddenly become aware of all the security guards and managers in the area. They're walking
      towards this area. Fuck.

I head away. I go to the Toddler section where Kid's are playing on a little slide and laughing. I feel extremely out of
place, and some parents are watching anyways... I head away and see kids everywhere, but gravitate towards the
arcade machines. There's one big game... and a few beyond it... well that's disappointing. I turn to my left and see a
whole line of machines. I think, "WHOA, that's better. But these machines probably don't have the same system as
Castles and Coasters... I wouldn't be able to win anything very high in tickets then anyways."

I head back to the area where I was going to shoplift. I'm now cautious of the one security guard that's standing by the
door. I also observe that there probably isn't any shoplifting detectors near the door. My attention returns to the
clothes. The circle rack is now missing. Go figure. I notice some racks on the wall with folded clothes. These look like
they're more expensive. They must be, because they all look amazing. A couple kids show up again and start talking to
me. I think they know now what I'm up to- but they want to help me. They run off somewhere, while I keep looking.
I see a new item that I didn't see before!

A Black and Red tanktop- it's a black tanktop with trippy red designs of fire on acid. The armpit doesn't even go down
      that low. I love it! I make sure it's my size. I find a few "M"s and "XL"s... then finally a "L".
I find some boxers that match the tanktop.
I find some nice soft white socks... and some shorter black ones too! I stuff the white ones in my pocket.
I find quite a few REALLY nice plaid overshirts... I check the sizes first. These would be easier to steal... but maybe I
could wear some of these over the tanktop!
I find some a couple plaid overshirts of really neat colors that stand out. One has Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, and
maybe Blue. One has something similar, but with less colors, and blackish or whiteish sleeves. The sleeves have fancy,
silver, flower-like curves and garnish. I might rip those off. But they do look interesting. I see some really nice pants
too that look really comfortable. I take my muddy pants off and begin the process. They won't notice pants being
different, I hope. After my pants are already off and I'm in some gym-shorts or something, I glance over at the door
security guard. He looks distracted by many other things besides me. But I'm still in his line of sight. At that moment,
he walks away towards some kids crying. The two kids must have done the job!

I try to slip back into my muddy pants for a moment when I see other people walking towards me. The manager is
coming. Oh fuck! I get my pants half-on when he arrives and he's with a security guard. They joke around as if they
were kids and start shooting imaginary guns at me. I play along and pretend to get shot up like I used to when I was a
kid. I hit the ground and they continue. Then the manager walks up to me and shoots me in the mouth.

"Haha, I guess I have a tongue piercing now." I joke. We all laugh.
If anyone responds to this verbally, I don't remember it. I think to myself... if I were shot like that or stabbed like that
for real, I'd be bleeding out pretty bad.

      <I wake up.>
    8. [Super Mario Arcade Warehouse]

by , 09-21-2012 at 06:53 AM (Searching For The Center of Everything)
      [Monday, September 17th, 2012]
(Alex stayed with me last night. We both had some lengthy discussions and came close to a fight, but we settled it rather civilly and got
somewhere. We talked about chakras, spiritualism, Budhism, techniques, and philosophy. Alex got too loopy to stay awake towards the end and
but we had a rather heated... physical debate before sleeping. Then we passed out talking about silly things like turtles and fireflies and my
computer's lights. xD The last thing I remember is focusing on my root chakra to try and feel it. I had some interesting dreams when we finally
slept, two of them. But only the last bit is coming to me right now...
The first dream involved chakras- but isn't complete enough to worry about for now.)

OH- WAIT NO- I was in a barren grassy landscape, and in a walled off area. There were me, and quite a few orphaned kids. In the center of the walled off plaza was grass and trees, but it was dry. Around the wall on the inside were buildings and rooms for us to live in. In one the bathroom area, there were showers and toilets and urinals and lockers. In the locker room, I remember a bully picking on all the weak kids, as if he were the only government here. He always picked on kids, but this time he was picking on real-life old friend, John, awkward, with red hair and heavy freckles. John was tired of being picked on, so he kicked the bully as hard as he possibly could in the go-nads. It looked like the most painful thing. I was like "HELL YEAH, serves you RIGHT!" though. That's as far as I remember from that dream.

      The second dream-
Me and Alex are in a Super Arcade Warehouse. In the very center is a fantastic, extremely-sophisticated Mario-themed adventure roller-coaster
tower ride. The building's lights are dimmed for a mysterious effect, but are offset by red and blue and green neon lights for excitement. The ride
itself is a red steel spiral, all the way to the top. There are different levels where we have to complete a puzzle or a challenge to continue on to the
next. Me and Alex sit in the center and it starts to rise to the top, going around the spiral on a track. Once we rise to a certain point, a piston
pushes a red steel disc-floor to our level and machines re-arrange the challenge. The first one is a game of balance. The disc-floor will tip and turn
depending on where you stand, but it takes awhile to go 'really' off-balance. On the otherside of the floor is a (!) button. We both get out and
instantly, the floor is tilting towards us. We run to the otherside and slam the button down, only to have it tilt quickly to the far side. We jump
quickly back to the car and it automatically starts back up again. We high-five and wait to the next level. The next one is different, we have to
climb some stone spiral stairs to get to a "hall-way" like section. In the straight-section are floating blocks, hung from rope and at the end is a pole
with a round platform at the bottom. We both punch the shit out of a block, she grabs a coin and I find a mushroom. I'm curious to see how they
actually taste and pop it in my mouth. It tastes like cardboard, and I feel no different. Alex slides the coin into her pocket and we both grab the
pole and stand on the round platform. It takes off upwards and we arrive at the next level along with the auto-piloted car. But for some reason, my
completion-ism isn't as strong as usual and we decide to leave. It's getting kind of late anyways, we leap off the spiral back down to the
tilt-platform and it tilts far enough and drops us down onto a bounce-pad at the bottom. We head out and I eye the games and other attractions. I
notice that no one but a single man occupies the arcade. He's wearing a bartender/Gambler outfit. We reach the door and I wake up
    9. Flashback: Lucid Experimentation

      by , 08-16-2012 at 05:51 PM
During my two-month dry spell between LD#1 and LD#2, I'd come up with a long list of experiments that I wanted to perform in a lucid dream. I managed to try the "level of detail" ones here.

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

      Lucid Experimentation (June 24th, 2012)

I'm attending a black tie party with Wife at some palatial estate. While we're exploring the grounds, I decide that I need to use the restroom. I tell Wife I'll meet with her later and go in search of the facilities.

I find them at the top of a long walkway filled with classic arcade machines ("Millipede" was definitely there.) Through the walkway door is an enormous, low-lit video arcade filled with machines and players. I find a light switch and flip it so that I can see better. Instead of lighting the room, this winds up turning off every machine in the arcade and the angry patrons look around, cursing. Badly embarrassed, I duck into the bathroom.

A Japanese couple follows me into the bathroom but instead of berating me for my stupidity, they request help with a tapioca pudding recipe that they're working on. I suggest that we return to my kitchen to work on it. We somehow blink into the kitchen and
I immediately realize that this is a dream. I push my finger through my palm to RC and the left hand stretches like taffy around my finger. The Japanese couple smiles broadly and stands back to wait for me to try whatever it was I had in mind.

I experiment with clarity, committing to memory my in-dream assessment of how detailed / realistic everything appears. I say that everything looks crystal clear and can be viewed to an arbitrary level of detail. I am unprepared for how clear everything is. I study my hands (which have an unusual bend and one extra finger on the left) as well as the brushed metal refrigerator (which I assess as 100% realistic at every level of detail I try.)

My vision briefly collapses into milky gray but I manage to restabilize by rubbing my hands over my forearms. I quickly realize that the Japanese DCs still need my help. I will their tapioca pudding recipe to be fixed and they laugh, smiling gratefully. I then think about how I can rejoin Wife at the party since I no longer know how to get there. Soon afterward, though, I
find myself awake back in bed.

I quickly grab the dream journal and start excitedly writing. About three lines in, I notice unusual notations in the margin. I don't understand them and have no memory of making them. Scanning back over what I've already written, I realize I can no longer make sense of any of it. I wonder whether I am actually awake.
I immediately wake up (for real this time), reality check and go for the dream journal. A great way to break a dry spell!

    10. Arcade 07/26/2012

      by , 07-26-2012 at 09:53 PM
I was in an arcade with Josh (from Drake and Josh), we were walking toward the ticket booth. He bought 10 dollar worth of tickets and I didn't buy any. The tickets were blue and they look exactly like the ones from arcade machines. When I looked again, Josh was not there anymore, it was my brother. He tried to get on a roller coaster seat but the seats kept on moving around so he kept on falling off. I told him to get on when it stops moving but he won't listen. --- My brother was playing games and collecting tickets while I looked after him. He walked around trying to find this little girl to give his tickets to. I asked him if he knows what prize she's gonna get with all these tickets people give to her. He told me that he don't, so I told him that it's a pretty silly thing to give all your hard earned tickets to a girl that you don't even know. We found the little girl at a shooting game, my brother gave her the tickets and she didn't even say thanks or look at us. --- A machine gave me a few tickets and when I walked away, it started to spill tickets out. The machine stopped after giving out a long strip of tickets. I tried to pick it up and show it off to my brother but it got tangled with me. I didn't want to tear it apart but it twists every time I try to get it off. I gave in and just teared it in to two pieces. --- We were near some air hockey tables, they were old and falling apart. When I took a closer look, the surface was just a plastic mat covering the old mess. The mallets were ping pong paddles.

    11. Water skiing with Big Mac; Stuffed animals

      by , 05-19-2012 at 02:38 AM (Taffy's Sweet Dreams)
I was at the beach with Big Macintosh from My Little Pony. We were going to go water skiing (jet skiing?). We found the other ponies jet skiing on a nearby part of the beach that was fenced in. They were just going back and forth, the lanes were separated like in olympic pools. We went back to our spot but the dream ended.

      ---

I was in a really old arcade, all the games were beat up and most didn't work. The only thing in good condition was a stand near the corner of the room, a game where you had to throw a ball and knock prizes out of buckets lining the walls. I tossed a ball and won a stuffed animal. My brothers and my dad came over and we kept winning stuff. There was a huge dog stuffed animal that we tried to win, but it was the only thing that didn't come down. It was close, within my reach, so I just grabbed it off the shelf since you didn't have to pay to play the game anyway. I was walking away with it when one of the guys who worked there came up to me and said "I didn't see you win that." I tried to say I did, but he didn't buy it. I can't remember exactly what happened after that, but I think he took me into a room around back. Don't know what happened past that.
    12. Pop'n music

      by , 05-16-2012 at 01:26 PM (Taffy's Sweet Dreams)
I was at an arcade, and I saw a pop'n music machine. But when I went to play it, I realized I was actually a madden NFL game inside a PNM cabinet. I was really annoyed, and decided to walk around for a bit, when I found a real cabinet. I started to play, then realized that these games are not available in America, and did an RC. But I still wasn't sure I was dreaming. Then the dream ended.

    13. Casino

      by , 05-12-2012 at 10:35 AM (Taffy's Sweet Dreams)
It's about time I logged in some dreams.

I was in an arcade/casino of some kind, playing on a slot machine. There was a big bucket attached where money fell into from the machine. I won a lot but left the money in the bucket and went to a new machine. I saw a pump it up machine and thought about playing, but realized I left the money in the last machine, so I went to get it. Luckily it was all still there. Then a video came on a nearby tv screen, an advertisement for a lucid dreaming book. There was an old lady who was sleeping and while she slept she said "I've done it!" as if she just got lucid. I thought it was a load of crap.*

      ---

I was browsing DV, when it had another rollback. I only had five posts. I typed out something in a box on the side of the screen, "how come I only have five posts " and it showed up in the middle of the screen. The whole page turned a purple color. I was like "did DV get hacked again?" my brother was watching over my shoulder the whole time.
    14. A taste of lucidity

      by , 04-18-2012 at 10:32 AM (Taffy's Sweet Dreams)
I was in an arcade somewhere and there was a DDR game, but you could use these buttons instead. I just played the (3 second long) demo and watched some kids play a horseracing game, and walked out, appearing on a deck. There was a microphone hanging from the ceiling. I was in an argument with a guy over something that happened in the arcade, but that made me do a RC and become lucid. I said "no, you're the one who's wrong... because I'm lucid and you're part of my dream. Good bye!" I leapt up and started to fly, but my vision got blurry and I woke up.

I don't think I've ever felt the transition from a lucid to waking up before. I usually lose lucidity before that happens.

      Last nights dreams

      Dream 1

I am lying in bed and don't realise this is a false awakening ((doh!!)) I am holding a baby frog in my left hand....I think "I'd better put this in its cage or I'll squash it when I drop off to sleep" I'm now confused and think "why am I holding a baby frog, it should be a baby pigeon ((I'm hand rearing a baby pigeon at the minute)). I now hear someone shout "mom" but it doesn't sound right so I think "ahhh...it's just hypnogognia" I now hear a young boy say "mom" I open my eyes again and see a young boy on the bed beside me, I say "what?" he says "can you top my phone up for me?" I say "you haven't got a phone" and wonder what he's on about. ((shame I didn't realise I haven't got a son lmao))

      Dream 2

I am in bed in my room again ((another false awakening)) and a friend of mine is in my room with me, she says "it's good that you gave P £2 for chips" (( lol I gave my daughter P two pound for chips yesterday))

      Dream 3

I'm in an arcade place ((like the ones on holiday or at a fairground)) there are lads of machines, some you win money and others you win knickers I wasn't winning on the money machines so I go and have a look at the machines where you win knickers. There are some knickers loose in the bottom of the machine so I take out a pretty Lacey pair and my daughter L who is with me says "ohhh there nice, win them for me" so what I had to do was swipe the barcode of the knickers across the thing on the machine and it would tell me if I had won or not, but again I never won. I am now getting angry with these machines and I'm trying to figure out why everyone else could win on the machines but I couldn't
