    1. Raccoon Referee

      by , 05-05-2017 at 06:06 PM
Morning of May 5, 2017. Friday.

I am in an unfamiliar forest setting and I feel good about the imagery and location. Over time, two deer are ready to engage in a fight. There is a raccoon that is apparently some sort of referee that stands on the sidelines like a person (that is, upright on his hind legs). He seems like a real raccoon otherwise. He is standing between what looks like two wooden “walls”, possibly of natural design.

The deer headbutt each other and soon become like a sideways tornado, with hardly any discernible imagery other than swirls of color. An oversized raccoon tail appears in the swirling imagery, which could be an additional raccoon that had been closer to the deer and got caught up in their ruckus.

The deer fight within their whirlwind until there is no sign that they are still there. The raccoon referee stands without moving, looking at the spot they had vanished from, apparently having disintegrated each other. There is the usual feeling of waking symbolism, a bit more accelerated than usual, and a slight sense of amusement and clarity. The deer vanishing is a waking prompt caused by my sudden lucidity, where dream features are more easily quickly rendered or dissolved, though I did not deliberately create this effect with my conscious mind (as it was automatic).

    2. Being a raccoon for a day

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I was a raccoon and was wandering about in the forest. Suddenly I felt something hit me; someone was throing pine cones at me. I climbed a tree to get a better look. I saw my friend raccoon across from me on another tree. He was also being thrown pine cones at. We looked around and saw there was a squirrel on another tree throwing the pine cones. I thought I should go give the squirrel a lesson so I jumped on to her tree and started climbing up. I was fast but too loud. The suirrel was swift and jumped to an adjacent tree. She was lighter and could use the tiny branches I couldn't. I kept chasing her but she eventually lost her footing and fell from a very tall tree. I descended and saw her lying unconscious on the grass. I came closer and she opened her eyes but couldn't move. She had a huge open gash that went from her neck all the way to her coccyx and I could see her skeleton. I felt really bad and tried to comfort her as she died in my hands.

      I woke up confused AF

      September 15, 2014

I was picking up Kels from some sort of practice at my old high school. It was night time, and I was supposed to have my car, but instead, I had biked there. I was looking around for her, and couldn't find her, and then there was something running around my feet. I couldn't tell what the heck it was, and so I said, "WTF IS THAT!?"

"I dunno, Dog? Raccoon?" Said someone nearby.

      "IS IT RABID?!"

      "Yeah, probably."

I got super scared and tried to kick the thing away from me, but it kept running around my feet.

Finally, Kels was done and came up to me. "Where the hell were you?!" I asked.
She said she'd had to go inside and put on some under-armor because it was cold.
      Or something.

    4. A Raccoon and some little mammals...

      by , 05-17-2014 at 11:36 AM (4th DJ-Attempt)
      Non-lucid, lucid, False awakening

.../We are in my grandparent's old house. It's night, the kids sleep in a big room and I hear some noises coming from the courtyard. I go out and find a raccoon is taking a walk around the place. I'm happy to finally see one of those little bandits. He seems to be not so happy and turns to bite me. I put my leg to keep him away but he growls and bites my shoe. It's a funny situation, although I don't like him to be so aggressive. Then I realize perhaps I won't be able to be friends with one of them under this situation. During the struggle, I take him into the kitchen. I see some leftover food on the table. I want to take it with one hand, but he jumps and bites that hand. He's not pressing too much, I feel his teeth like I was playing with my dog. Then I use my other hand to take the can and get to put it close to him. He turns and starts eating. What a fight! I wake up on the bed and feel one of my teeth is falling, I move it with my tongue then it falls I remember it recently happened and it's always a dream, I stand up and spit the pieces I have in my mouth. I get on the carpet next to the bed and see a lot of tiny pieces I spat on it. I want to make some fun while I clean my mouth. I take the little white stones and throw them to a doorway in front of me. There's a whole on the opposite wall where some of the stones fall rolling. I try to throw them inside that hole which looks like the door of a mouse home. I can see there's a street on the other side. Sometimes when a stone falls on the floor, it turns into a mouse which runs for cover, some of them get into the hole, some of them turn in another direction. The scene is funny, so I keep doing it with the next pieces I still have in my mouth. They turn into mice, rats and little black ones which look like little skunks. It's getting a little bit tedious to clean my mouth because of always there are more and more pieces inside of it. I take a look where I was throwing all the stones, and there's a group of around 50 little mammals rhythmically moving with the movements of my hand. Getting closer when I put my hand behind me and going away when I throw the next pieces which now turn into little skunks. I feel my body is fading away. Now I'm lying on the bed in the same initial position, push my tooth once again. It moves and falls. This time I don't want to waste my time. I stand up and spit what I have inside my mouth. It starts again to appear more and more pieces. Then I remember something I read in DV, something like "Everything needs your attention in order to exist". It's the perfect situation to put that into practice. I stop thinking about the pieces inside my mouth and go through the doorway to the other room. I see another hole the size of my hand in the wall. I remember I can use it to go through. I use my hands to make it bigger until I can go through. The wall seems to be made of rubber. There's a bus station on the other side. When I turn to see the room where I was, I see some guys are playing video games sitting on a sofa in front of a big TV screen. I hear 80's arcade games music playing in the background. I want to see if I can close the hole the same way. I take the borders and try to put them together but they don't fit together. It's a little bit difficult to put the borders together. One of the guys stands up and helps me. Once again I feel my body fading away/...

      * I see the clock, it has been just one hour after somebody called to my phone and I didn't answer because of I was falling asleep. I think the first short REM stage is over, so I take some notes and go back to sleep.

    5. Academics; Kitten Bomb

      by , 11-22-2013 at 09:18 AM
Original entry dated July 12, 2002:

I was on a campus and it had really big buildings, only they were built in trees. And there were obviously lots of stairs involved. I had a chemistry lab class in one of these buildings, but just outside the door to my classroom was an arcade, and I wanted very badly to buy some nachos because I was hungry, only I was afraid the teacher would return while I was waiting in line and then I'd get in trouble. And then I went home, and for some reason Lucy and Ricky Ricardo were our next door neighbors, and there was a convention going on where they were showing all sorts of different movies, because it was the big debut of some much-anticipated anime, only I missed almost all of them because I was asleep or in class. Then something kept biting me while I was in bed (in my dream) and leaving huge welts and nasty scars, so my aunt and I searched my bedding and found a fuzzy grey worm that she said was a "ragamuffin" and was responsible for my wounds. It was about an inch long and grey with darker grey stripes, and it had a face like a raccoon.

Original journal entry dated July 13, 2002:

I had a dream that kittens were hanging from little cocoons on the wall, staring at me and buzzing.

Kittens were on the wall, all across the wall, like spiders, with sticky feet, in little cocoons, just staring at me. Just STARING. They wouldn't stop.

It made me so nervous, being watched like this. Watched like a bug, and I just KNOW they're planning something, because they're actually devious little spawns of Satan, and that their heads would explode.
    6. The Raccoon

      by , 08-17-2013 at 10:34 PM
The power was out at our house for the afternoon and overnight, so I had no excuse not to go to bed on time. Discipline at last! This is the first of a pair of lucids from last night.

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

      Lucid #132: The Raccoon

I'm sitting at our breakfast table with Wife, my two kids "E" and "R", my mom, and my dad. R's in his booster seat and positioned close to the back door (which is made of glass.) A huge raccoon walks up to the back door, gets onto his hind legs and starts pawing at the glass. "I think he likes [R]!" remarks Dad.

I wonder whether I should be concerned that we have 3-foot raccoons wandering through our back yard. After pondering this for a moment, I decide that this is a little strange and use the nose pinch reality check,
breathing clearly and immediately becoming lucid.

Immediately I want to head outside, so I phase through the glass into the yard. Everything looks more or less like waking life. My goal is to get to the Great Barrier Reef for Task of the Year and I think about using the pool as a transition point. The plan: fall backward into the water, imagine that I'm actually in the ocean, then turn around. Hopefully then I actually am in the ocean.

I walk up to the edge of the pool, turn around so that my back is to the pool, and fall backward into the water. I go under briefly but quickly surface. I imagine that I'm on the edge of a huge ocean, but when I turn around, I still just see the other side of the pool. I swim around for a while, wondering what to try next. I'm getting ready to try to imagine an ocean behind me again but before I can, I wind up in the void.

From the void, I probe at my dream body but after only a couple of seconds I experience a shuddering sensation and hear a crackle like electricity. It reminds me of a violent WILD transition. Almost immediately a new scene forms -- a tan, smoothly curved, dumbbell-shaped object spinning by itself in the void. I want to reach out to it but I don't seem to have a dream body. I can shift my perspective, though, and I "move" closer to the tan dumbbell. It seems to be lit by some unseen light source behind me. I spend a few more seconds here before
      the dream ends.
    7. Intelligent Raccoon

      Non-dream Dream

      Dream 1:

I am in New York during the terrorist attacks. I am in a raft in the ocean by the statue of liberty. I find a rocky shore and paddle to it. There is a hiking trail there which I follow up to a railing. Over this railing is a very long fall down into the ocean. Mac, Charlie (from Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and I take turns faking the jump.

      Dream 2:

There is a crazy driver in my neighborhood driving on the sidewalks and on peoples lawns. It is a blue car. He almost hits two small children. I am the only one running after him trying to stop him. I yell at all of my neighbors for not helping me. A raccoon jumps out of the blue car and starts tormenting me. It knows how to manipulate / create electricity and it tries to shock me. I manage to lock it in the bedroom (which at this point is my parent's room on Pam Ln). Then I call 911 and wake up.

      Dream 3:

Some chick, I think it is TE, is sitting at a bar with me. JG, my old boss, is there as well. TE is willing to do all kinds of sexual favors in exchange for chores. It was really really fun.
    8. Freak deer and SUPER SHOUT - lucid

by , 06-23-2012 at 04:59 PM (High Quality Head Movies)
      FREAK DEER AND SUPER SHOUT

I barely remember the dream before this point but it was awesome.

We were at my old house from two years ago and my old dog was even there.
There were some strange raccoons in the backyard and my dad shot one and the rest ran off.

These weren't raccoons, they were freak deer with raccoon shaped things on their heads. The raccoon parts of their heads are near useless and made no sense.

When we walked out in the open some more came out into the open and right about then, I realized I was dreaming.

      LUCID DREAMING!

Then a fawn came up to me and I yelled, " FALCON, KICK!!!!!" and kicked it and it flew, FAR.
I guess the mom of that fawn was pissed, because a big freak deer came toward me. It had its huge sheep-like teeth showing and would stay 2 feet from me and block my way when I wanted to walk somewhere.

I then sucked in all the air I could and then yelled, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! !!" and made this mega shout that made trees push back, bird feeders fly, and most importantly, that deer flew over the woods!

After that, I flew straight up to observe the landscape around me. I flew above the clouds and there were two mountains off in the distance that had a roller coaster around them. I saw lots of tall buildings with neon lights, floating islands, hills and landscape, and random street signs floating around. I turned around and flew a different direction and there were streets and traffic lights above the clouds and then everything started fading and I woke up.
    9. raccoon and reaccuring dream location...

      by , 07-26-2011 at 11:06 PM
I was walking around in my backyard, when i came across a raccoon being attacked by a baby skunk......i shooed the skunk away and picked upthe raccoon and allof a suden i was walking down a street, a street ive seen in my dreams before many times..dont know where it is though...i examine the raccoon briefly, there are no wounds, i turn left and walkdown a short alley, then turn right into an open area between buildings, ive been here before as well, theres a vets office at the far end of this plaza type place, i examine the raccoon again and now it has a gash on one side of its body, theres a napkin dispenser hanging onthe wall next to me so i graba couple and apply pressure to the wound, i start walking towards the door in the back wall, which leads to a hallway, strange thing is i had a key to this door for some reason, i walk to the end of this hallway and take a left, the vets office is at the end of this hallway, but as it is in every other dream ive seenit in, its closed....theres a square of light on the floor under the onyl window there, even though its nighttime, so i lay the raccoon down in the square of light, andit curls up liekits going to go to sleep, i say to myself, the vet will be here soon and will find him..i start walking out and fins theres a door in the middle of the hallway between the outside door and where i left the raccoon, its always there on the way out, but never there on the way in......i oen the door and go through and i realize the baby skunk was following me.....i go through the outside door and trap the baby skunk in the hallway, after the door closes, i panick a bit thinking i left my keys inside, they wer in my back pocket thankfully, i walk out of the alley and its now early morning, sun just coming up....i walk past a circle K, in reality a convenience store, in this dream, a tire store..i dont think its at all strange...as i head down the street i'm getting in a better and better mood, huge smile on my face, strutting down the street etc...i see a covered bus stop in the distance and i start dancing to and singing "du hast" by Rammstein....i havent thought about that song in years, nor wa i ever a fan of that song, but it popped in my head for some reason....then i woke up......
    10. Precongitive (WILD): Lucid Animals

      by , 03-16-2011 at 08:40 AM
I have been getting interrupted sleep the past several nights. I casually decided I could use this to enter REM instantly upon closing my eyes. I did this once recently while stressed out (Night Hike on a Freeway). This might be the first dream I ever remembered in which I was aware of being asleep prior to the dreaming beginning.

I saw an image emerging from the blackness. It looked almost like a small flower shaped hole in the dark. I could see a well light sepia tone scene emerging on the other side of it. -I became so excited at viewing a dream form from blackness that I woke up.

I laid still. I was determined to re-enter the dream. I have never re-entered a dream to my recollection. This may not have been the same dream, but the vibe was similar.

I was in the blackness, awake. A fully detailed dream location appeared. I was standing in the middle of the street looking at an old friends house I walk past on a regular basis. I lost lucidity for a moment. Then, as I watched, all these animals started to emerge from around the property. Raccoon's, cats, and then an adorable looking squirrel came hopping in my general direction. "This is a dream!" I said as soon as I saw it. (This moment is almost identical to: Super Lucid Blackbird Flying) I was thrilled. I turned around to take in the whole scene.

When I looked to my left, there charging happily towards me were four large shaggy dogs: Black, White, Burgundy, and Golden. I was so shocked by the closeness - I instantly woke up. (*)

Again I was laying in bed. I didn't move a muscle. This was not a feat of willpower, I was super tired. But internally determined to keep the dreams rolling.

I was in the blackness awake again. I saw a distorted face emerging a few inches in front of me. All at once, a mirror appeared and I was looking into it at close range. This sounds scary, but I was lucid. I started making various expression in the mirror. I looked more handsome than in real life. My skin was perfect and my flaws were gone.

(*PRECOGNITIVE*) When I woke up, I needed to pass that same house. I was planning to make it a good "reality check point." As I arrived I smiled. Looked at the house, then, I looked across the street. -My jaw dropped. Right there, about 25-35-ft ahead of where I saw them: Three medium sized dogs, black, white, golden - being walked by a 30-something woman wearing a hat.

The burgundy colored dog was missing. The real dogs were medium sized not large. I don't recall ever seeing this group of dogs before, although it's possible. I usually do pay attention to the friendly animals I cross paths with in my neighborhood.

In my first dream journal there was a tiny percentage of dreams that weren't quite precognitive, more like educated guesses Dream: 037 & Dream: 067. This 4-dogs dream is the first dream I'm aware of featuring:

      1) So many different dogs together I don't know.
      2) About 75% accurate and did occur asap almost at the exact location as in the dream.

I learned over the years that dreams produce: abstractions of people, mind tricks, fake conversations, illusions, distortions, false memories, etc. I never gave precognitive dreams much serious thought.

Supplements (before bed): 500mg of B5, and 200mg B6. First time trying this combination. I usually take one or the other. Generally, I've found these vitamins help with recall, but cause more shallow dreaming. This dream is consistent in general with past experiences without taking supplements.

    11. Sammy and Sammy to Simon and Simon and oceanography

      by , 11-24-1977 at 12:03 PM
Night of November 24, 1977. Thursday.

My dream features a raccoon and a Siamese cat that live in a large city and work together as detectives (apparently in the world of humans). This recurred a few times, but all instances before the television series “Simon and Simon” was filmed or aired. The name of the fictional series in my dream was firstly “Sammy and Sammy”. There was this odd idea that the raccoon and the cat were somehow brothers. There are scenes of the Siamese cat and raccoon sitting together on the front steps of a courthouse. However, in another scene, this “courthouse” looks like the front of the apartment building on the “Sesame Street” television series and may in fact be a spin-off from that children’s show. I view the scene as some sort of projection from a book (somewhat different implications than my dream details below about the “living book”) which is about half of life-size and appears along the north east area of my room facing west. I do not directly interact with this imagery. The animals are larger in scale than the setting.

“Sammy and Sammy” was seemingly not “well received” in my dream by the public, so, using a pattern a little closer to the word “Siamese” (I assume) - the title became “Simon and Simon” and seemed more “correct” in an additional (or “reset”) dream regarding the fictional show that became popular.

Obviously, when the actual television series was later known and I saw it for the first time in real life, also on November 24th (1981), I was intrigued. Of course, the detectives on the real show were human.

In a dream of the same time period (also including on the same morning) I had a large book on oceanography, which was like a “living book” that was similar to another one that featured the above fictional series (and I apparently had several more “living books”). Over time, the images in the photographs on the pages would seem to come to life or at least appear as a sort of implied portal into the scene (though obviously not big enough to go into physically). It was very peaceful to look at the various moving images. In one dream, I was able to use the charts and graphs on certain pages in an interactive way (and this was before I ever used a computer in real life). I watch small schools of fish move about deep in the ocean. The imagery in this dream was fairly realistic compared to certain other dreams.
