    Lucid Dreams

    1. Marine Biology School, an Alternate Past, and Ryan Weirdness

      Dream - Lucid - AP

The first dream I had, I'm almost positive I was lucid, but all I remember about it is being in a forest. As soon as I woke up from it, the details were gone.

      ~

I was with Kacey. I remember being at work at first, and then we were at some marine biology school. That's where she was studying. I went to sit in on one of her classes. My data analysis teacher, Dr. D, was teaching. I thought that was cool that she taught biology and statistics.

I sat down at a desk, and pulled out a bowl of oatmeal. I was eating the oatmeal throughout the class. Dr. D taught and showed us some film clips of marine life. When she showed us the clips, she turned the lights off.

When the class was over, she turned the lights back on. I got up out of my desk, and looked in front of it. There was a huge pile of oatmeal spilled there. And I mean HUGE, there is no way anyone could eat that much oatmeal in one sitting. I commented on it to Kacey, saying that I guess I spilled some. She said
"Yeah, that's why someone asked what that sound was." Apparently, it made a weird noise when it spilled.
I cleaned up the oatmeal, scooping it into a plastic shopping bag. I put the bag in a suitcase, which was lined with plastic. I bundled up the plastic, and threw everything away. I looked back in my suitcase, and the oatmeal was still there. I threw it away.

Then, I remember some guy coming up to talk to me. He looked about 30-35 or so. He was blonde with a mustache, and had a high-pitched voice. He asked if I remembered him, and started talking to me about my dad, and how he had been one of his patients. He said his voice was so high because he had "X syndrome" (fragile X syndrome in waking life). He walked away. I could not for the life of me remember who he was.

I went outside, and the guy was out there smoking a cigarette. Kacey had said something to me about me needing to avoid him or something. He started talking in his high-pitched voice again.

      ~

I was with some friends, some people that I'm not close with in waking life. We were all apparently close friends though. It was a group of about 5 or 6 of us. We were at a restaurant, Cracker Barrel maybe.

Then, I remember starting to go back in time. I started to experience an alternate past. I was with the same group of friends, and we were at a gay club. It was an actual gay club we have close to town in waking life, but this one was in a different town. I thought about that for a second. It was dark in the room, definitely a club setting. We were all laughing and having a great time. The time setting was either right at the end of or the end of high school. We were sitting at a table with a bench waiting for the drag show to start. I remember a little bit of the drag show. It was kind of movie-esque. I remember thinking to myself at some point
"If I would have done this, I wouldn't be the same person I am now."

Then, I remember it being stormy. It wasn't nighttime anymore. We were in some other building now, and were being herded into a hallway with lots of windows because there was a tornado warning. My old 7th grade English teacher, Mrs. B, was directing us where to go. I remembered seeing other people go into these interior rooms with no windows. I was baffled: Why would my teacher bring us into this room? There were windows everywhere. You could see how dark the sky looked out the windows.

I decided to say something. I asked Mrs. B why we were out in this room when there were so many windows. She said we had to be there. I started to argue with her, yelling about how stupid and unsafe this was. She yelled back. I think there was some physical fighting involved. I knew I was getting in trouble, but I didn't care. I was pissed.

Then, I remember being in a bus, driving away from the area. The sky looked clear, but then I saw a tornado form. It was a smaller tornado, but I saw it pick up a barn. It wasn't too far behind us. I "remembered" when this had happened in my "real life".

      ~

I was in my room with Ryan. He had apparently moved into my family's house with me. I thought about how awkward that would be, with him staying in my room and my family being there. He came into the room wearing this dark blue button-up shirt with a light blue shirt underneath. His pants were blue plaid pajama pants. We were apparently going out to eat or something, and I didn't have the heart to tell him that his outfit looked bad. He said he really liked that shirt. I thought it looked like a girl's shirt.

I remember there being some big, black grill-type thing in the middle of the room. It was more like a box, that when you opened it, it started to get hot. You could see the hot, glowing metal. You closed it when you wanted it to shut off. I opened it, and there was some wolf in there, but it wasn't a real wolf. It bit my hand and I laughed, because it didn't bite it hard. Apparently the wolf-but-not-wolf was my friend.

I then remember something about my cat, Belle, being caught in there and needing to be let out. I remember seeing her running around my room.

Then, I saw that Ryan had cleavage. It wasn't weird
      until I woke up.

    2. A very strange lucid experience.

by , 04-14-2011 at 02:39 PM (My otherworldly experiences.)
      Lucid = orange

I'm with my friend Sam Harris and one of his friends. His friend wants to take a bus into town but doesn't know how much it costs, so I explain it to him. I then go with Sam to the ticket booth, and the other guy mishes off as he wants to do something before he goes, entrusting getting the ticket with us. Once that's done, we go our separate ways.

Next I'm in a building nearby (I think) with somebody else, in a place which reminds me of a part of college. This guy takes a small girl and drowns her head-first in a sink full of water or something. He's laughing while he does this. Then we hear a loud bellow and somebody is chasing after us (probably her father). The guy disappears and I'm left with the blame, even thinking I had some part in it, racing down the staircase and out of the building as fast as I can, with this frenzied man chasing after me. As soon as I get out, I spot a car, and figure that's the ideal place to hide. I go round the back of it and squeeze underneath, bringing in all my limbs so that he won't see me. It's a success, and he goes past.
Note: I never actually saw this guy, only heard.
The next thing that happened I don't really understand. I became lucid, but at the same time I didn't, I just became in control. I underwent some sort of transition in which the dream became clearer and colours were more vibrant, like something being wiped across my vision, but I already knew I was dreaming before that to an extent, just not fully.
At this point I almost woke up, but managed to keep myself within the dream. I'm now in lying on my back in the car, on my own, being transported somewhere. The scenery outside of the car was strange, similar to what you'd expect to see while travelling through some kind of wormhole (or something of that nature).
Because of what had just happened, I remembered I needed to deepen my state if I was to get anywhere, and proceeded to rub my hands together and note how it felt. Then the dream faded out to black, leaving only a small part of what I had just been seeing, and I could feel myself back in bed. I could still feel my dream hands rubbing together though, so I concentrated on that entirely and managed to bring the scene back to life in its fullness.
The scene then changes to a vastly populated area that looked like some kind of city square.
Note: This is the first time I've seen SO MANY people in a lucid. Usually I see none/a few.
I'm in the 3rd person, with no control over what's happening, being told that I've been sent as a detective to solve the murder of this girl and bring the criminal(s) to justice. Then it zooms back into my body and control is restored. I think to myself ''Well, that's not going to work, since it was me and that other guy.'' and dismiss it entirely, eager to get on with my lucid goals. The first thing I do is recognise that I'm having trouble staying lucid this time, and call for my dream guide. I then waste no time in exploring what's around me. There's a guy in front of me. I ask him if he knows anyone, but he just gives me the 'wtf' look, so I turn around and spot a bench. I bend down and look at it closely, examining fine details, all the while rubbing my hands together and noting how it feels. I also take some time to touch up the bench a bit.
I then hear somebody crying out trying to get my attention. It's a half laugh-half yell kind of thing and then from the right side of me somebody jumps on my shoulders, nearly throwing me back into wakefulness. I manage to hold on, however, and bring myself to, (AGAIN ) and this guy is sitting in front of me on the bench, and sounds very proud of me. I assumed this was my dream guide, although he looked completely different to who I saw last time. I ignored this change and asked him how to get more lucid, since I was experiencing quite a bit of difficulty this time round. He told me ''Right now, you're gonna eat something.'' I turned to the left and spotted an ice-cream stand and ask him if that'll work. He dismissed that idea and told me to find a ''potato chip'' instead, then ran off. Leaving me clueless of where to find one.

After analysing this after waking, I'm now sure this guy wasn't a dream guide. It's quite possible it was the guy who murdered that girl, hence his initial attitude (the loud and proud type. Since we had evaded any form of justice, that makes sense.) and why everything he did only threw me off course.
    3. 4th LD!!!

      by , 04-14-2011 at 01:42 PM
I was being chased and shot at by a woman with a gun. I realized I was dreaming. I didn't want her to be here, obviously, so I tried to make her disappear. No luck. So I turned a corner, and mentally willed her not to be there when I looked back. She wasn't.
The next thing I remember is looking at a large map on some virtual reality map computer program, except with no computer. My sister said she wanted to go to a country called "Izzy" on the map (maybe in my next LD I'll find that map again and explore further. It'll be my little teleportation device). I decided to test the map to see if I could, in fact, beam down to Izzy. After all, I was dreaming. I found a "zoom in" button and began to zoom in until I was standing in Izzy. At first I thought I saw a burger joint, but it was just a bench with a neon sign advertising french fries. I was in a library, because there were many shelves of books. I decided to explore further (by the way, this part of the dream looked a lot like a 3d game). I saw a plant in its holder on the ground.
I wondered if I should try to fly or something; I didn't want to waste the dream. But it was just as much fun looking around the dreamscape, so I continued my exploration.
I walked toward the exit and saw a woman with spiky black hair. I paused, because she looked so real (maybe she was my DG), and told myself to remember the dream.
I walked outside. I was in a red-brick, large alley. I could see a city street in the distance, and I began running. To make the dream more vivid, I yelled, "Increase vividness!" and nothing happened. I ditched that idea and looked at the overcast sky. I said, "Clouds, go away! Sun, come out!" or at least tried to. I couldn't open my mouth, so I tried again. This time I could say it, but I felt the dream slipping away; the image was becoming grainy. I closed my eyes and yelled, "Stabilize!" I tried to open them and focused on the dreamscape for a moment, but then my real eyes stretched open.

    4. Dangerous cannabis! + leveled dreams.

      by , 04-14-2011 at 06:43 AM
While I was driving to my cousins house, I saw huge ziplock bags of weed everywhere on the street! I was suddenly with my younger boy cousin and he was saying how we should take one. We saw ahead that there were some police cars and hazardous waste signs that taped off the end of the street. I turned my car around and yelled at him to grab one bag. He got out of the car, grabbed a bag and hopped back in. The cops didn't see us so we drove off and went back to his apartment. His sister was home and we told her about the incident.

My younger guy cousin immediately ran into the bathroom, grabbed a handful of the weed and began smoking it rapidly. I told him to calm down but he didn't listen. He started taking handfuls and shoving it in his mouth and eating it. I think he ate half the bag. I looked really ill/sick all of a sudden. He turned really pale and went to go lie down on the bed in the living room. The smoke was still in the air but I didn't inhale it. My girl cousin ran into the bathroom and starting talking about how high her brother was and she unconsciously inhaled the smoke that was still in the air.

After a few minutes my guy cousin started to gag and cough up blood everywhere. It looked like he was searching for the bag of weed but I put it in the bathroom so he couldn't reach it. He smoked way too much so he couldn't really get up but he was still coughing up a lot of blood. Then he started spilling blood from every orifice of his body and I was so scared I didn't know what to do. I decided to confiscate the weed but when I went in the bathroom his sister was in the same state as him but she was functional because she didn't intake as much. It looked like she wanted to kill me and she got up to attack. I was so scared I knew I had to leave but for some reason I felt the urge to gather my belongings before I left. I snatched the remaining bag of weed and was looking for my shoes and keys and my bag. She was walking towards me but really slow. I grabbed my keys and put on my shoes and was going to grab my bag but when I turned around she was right next to me. I screamed and ran out the door. I ran to where I parked my car but she suddenly started running after me, fast. I tried opening my car but you know sometimes when things just don't go as quickly as you want it to or you can't move as fast as you want? Yeah, well that was happening and she was getting closer and I thought I was going to die so I tried to wake myself up by telling myself I need to wake up NOW.. and I did. But only for a brief moment. I fell back asleep and went back into the same dream except this time, I did my reality check thing where I try breathing with my nose and mouth shut, and I became some what lucid. I wasn't 100% lucid because I couldn't control everything as I pleased but I did make her disappear and I spun around in circles and when I stopped I was in my living room.

There was a random man and a woman in my living room and they were crouching over one of my cats. He was opening him with his knife and made a long incision across his stomach. I screamed at him to stop, and that he was killing my cat so he began suturing the cut.
It was as if I was in one level deeper into my dreams because things were really blurred and mixed together. All of a sudden the woman let out my cats and dogs and they were running around. I have 3 cats and 1 dog but there were two extra (a small kitten and a puppy). I have never seen them before but apparently they were mine. She informed me that I forgot about the cat and left her in the cage for the past year and she was almost dead from starvation. She was really skinny and frail and they took her away. The small puppy was really bloated and round. According to the woman I forgot about these two and neglected them all this time. I couldn't believe it because I would never do such a thing but I did. I was holding the puppy in my bedroom while sitting on my bed and I closed my eyes and started to cry. But when I opened them I was suddenly in another place.

In this dream everything is really disconnected. I was at my high school trying to get my schedule from the office in one moment, and frantically searching for my class the next. Then I was in the cafeteria trying to buy some bread but they wouldn't sell it to newcomers. Then I was suddenly talking to my friend on the phone from a hotel room and asked him what he was doing. He said he was going to meet his 4 guy friends and I could come if I felt like it.
I was pulling up my leggings and when I looked around I was standing in the middle of a vast field. It was raining with grey skies. Across the distance I saw the sea but there was a storm. Someone came and was standing near me. I couldn't recognize who or what he was because he was extremely blurry.

I found myself outside a shopping mall with my girl friends. We were all around 12 years old. We were playing a game similar to tag. One person would run and the other had to tag them in a certain amount of time or they lost. I was chasing one of my friends but she was extremely fast and I couldn't catch her at first. But I had more endurance so when she slowed down I barely caught up with her and tagged her. We gathered the remaining winners that were down to three; me, my friend and the friend I tagged. We had to do a three way tag kind of thing.
But before we started I found myself walking alongside the beach coastline. I passed a tree that had my ex first love stuck to it upside down wearing a swim trunk similar to my current boyfriend's swim trunk but his was longer, like pants.

I looked at him and smirked, because I knew I was doing so much better without him.

      Then I woke up.
    5. Becoming Lucid (First lucid dream); Hypnagogia/Sleep paralysis

      by , 04-14-2011 at 05:53 AM
I remember most of my dreams, I'm not sure whether I should think of it as something grateful or unlucky.

I've been practicing the art of lucid dreaming for the past month now. I've been having intense hypnagogia/sleep paralysis because of it. Every time I experience hypnagogia it's always so stressful for me. Before I become hypnagogic I always have a dream that I am just living my daily life when suddenly something goes wrong; For instance: I try turning on the lights in my room but they won't turn on and the room becomes dark, or in worst cases once I saw my brother hanging from the bathroom ceiling with blood everywhere, or suddenly I am talking to my friend and her skin starts melting, or once I opened my closet door and inside was pitch black and I heard some demonic voices yelling at me so I got annoyed and yelled back saying "f*ck you, you're hella annoying" and flipped him off (but then what ever it was got really angry and screamed at me). Anyways, after something goes wrong I go into sleep paralysis/hypnagogia. It gets pretty intense and scary sometimes but now I'm just really annoyed.

I realized after studying about lucid dreaming, dreaming and sleep paralysis, that it is nothing but a dream and now when I have nightmares I am able to control the bad situations and even the unsettling events that occur in my dream before sleep paralysis.
So yeah, if any of you have sleep paralysis/hypnagogia don't be afraid! You are just merely asleep and your mind shut itself off from your voluntary muscles so you don't hurt yourself while you move about in your dream. But you are still able to move your fingers and toes, so if you ever want to wake up just keep wiggling your fingers and toes and your mind will realize that you are conscious and you will wake up. Or try taking deep breaths because doing so will trigger your mind to realize you are not sleeping because your breathing patterns are different from your sleep breathing patterns!

Anyways, on to my first lucid dream..

I've been trying to make a habit of checking whether I was dreaming or not even in reality so that I might habitually do it in my dreams as well. What I do is, I plug my nose and shut my mouth and take a deep breath. Obviously in real life that is not physically possible, but I read somewhere that when you do it in your dreams, you can breathe even though both of your airways are shut. I've read that doing this in your dream state would induce one to become lucid. So after much practice, I had my first lucid dream about 2 weeks ago.

I was standing in the middle of an empty road and I did my reality check and what do you know! I became conscious that I was dreaming! Since it was my first time I became so excited I started telling everyone around me that I was dreaming (apparently this is normal for newbie lucid dreamers). I found it so spectacular that I could finally be lucid. I ran around and went up to random people (for some reason i dream of people I've never met before) and told them I was dreaming and that they were merely made up people in my mind. After calming down (thank goodness I didn't wake up), I walked in front of a white honda civic. I wanted to test my ability to control time. So I exclaimed to the man inside of the car to come out and shoot me with a gun. He looked at me kinda funny and didn't respond. I told him again that I was dreaming and that I needed to test time control so he HAD to come out and shoot me with a gun. He shrugged and came out of the car. I was so excited. He pointed the gun at me and shot.
It was amazing, at first it seemed like the bullet was coming at me at lightning speed, but only for a second. I then managed to slow the bullet down into ultra slow motion. I tried to pinch the bullet in between my fingers but failed. I told him to shoot at me again and the same thing happened. I did it a couple more times but with no success. Kinda bummed out I walked away and thought about what else I should do in my dream. I started to make my own music/beat and had it playing all over the entire city as if the music was coming from the sky! It was a pretty damn good beat too, I told myself to try and remember it when I wake up.
As I was walking down the street listening to my music, I created a cannabis store so I could experiment to see if I could get high in my dream. They had weed with a transparent-like rainbow glow to it. I took a few hits and continued walking down the street. I felt buzzed but not high.
I ran out in the middle of the street (there were no cars) and spun around 3 times to see if I would land in another dimension. Mission failed, and I slowly felt the dream falling apart. I tried focusing on my hands but ended up leaving my current dream.
All of a sudden I was in my bed. Everything was really bright. I did my reality check again and immediately became lucid.
I wanted to see if I could control having sex in my dreams.
I thought of my boyfriend and he appeared but looked different. He seemed much skinner than he is now and he did not seem too happy to see me. He wasn't intimate at all and was being cold and blunt. I was sad at first but realized he was only a projection and just a shade of my real boyfriend.

      Then I woke up.

      Lucid Dream:

There was a lot building up to this dream. So I will jsut share some of it in note form:

Robert waking me up, taking the car. Daniel writing on the ceiling. Monica and Robert going away. Eating ice cream with Tanya. At preschool with Celia, care gone with purse, camera and cell phone in it. Jeff brought it back.

In fast food place ordering food with Mom, Celia, Jeff and I. I had this one year old baby with me that was talking like she was about 5 years old. The baby couldn't decide what to order, then had to go to the bathroom. I took the baby in the bathroom. I went into a stall. To my surprise the toilet was huge (about the size of a queen bed) and in it was a tiny baby swimming around.

      This did not trigger lucidity.

I went to another stall. In that toilet was another baby swimming.

      This did not trigger lucidity.

Every toilet in the restroom had a baby in it-- except one that was over flowing with poop and another that had a toilet that didn't quite seem attached and was tilted to the side.

This also did not trigger lucidity.

I saw that there were many mothers standing around in the bathroom. I found out that this group of mothers had brought their babies here so they could practice swimming. I felt angry that they took up all the clean toilets. The baby in my arms was complaining that she really had to go now. I felt frustrated. I told her to go in her diaper since she was wearing one. She didn't want to do that, so I finally held her over the tilted toilet and let her go. The pee ran over the side and onto the floor next to one of the toilets with the babies. I felt it served that mother right to taking up the good toilet. I had to go to. So I also went and my pee ran over onto the floor too.

Then my mom came in the bathroom and needed to go. I told her about the babies. She went over to one of the moms and started talking to her. I stood there and stood there and waited and got bored. So I started doing that thing where I fall backwards until I almost hit the floor then I bounce right back up into standing position.

I did this several times before I really noticed what I was doing. I thought, "Hmmm...this is something that I can only do in dreams. Why can I suddenly do it in real life?" I wondered for a moment. Then I decided that it wouldn't hurt to give flying a try. If this was real life like I thought it was nothing would happen. But if it were a dream then I would be lucid and wouldn't that be grand since it has been so long since I have had a good lucid dream.

I leaned a bit and was suddenly hovering horizonally. I finally was sure I was dreaming so I flew out of the bathoom. I was now in a large room that was set up with tables with food. I flew over a table that had a big plate of chocolate raspberry cake. I grabbed a piece and stuffed it into my mouth and started to fly off again. But it tasted so good I swooped down again and grabbed the whole plate of cake and started shoving in piece after piece into my mouth.

When it was gone I decided that I really needed to do something else really useful with my dream, like fly to the Moon. So I flew outside. I could see a park with dead or dormant trees in it. I flew to the trees. I decided I wanted to experiment and see if I could fly through one of the tree's trunks. But as I flew to the tree I decided to just break off a dead branch instead.

But at that point I was horrified by seeing a man standing in the air in front of me. His skin was tinted green and his black hair came up to points like devil horns. He reached out and grabbed me. I was so started and terrified that I gasped "Go...go....."

Then I had the weirdest briefest false awakening. I had a glimpse of being in a bank. This scary man was just a bank manager. I had fallen aleep at his desk and he was shaking me awake. But at that instant I awoke to me real bed. It took me a moment to understand what I had just gone through.

I think I'll try to post my lucid dream from a few weeks ago. I have it written some where, but I can't find the paper. SO I'll have to do my best.

I remember getting lucid. I no longer remember how. [Shoot. I really wish I had my notes, because I really don't remember much of it now. And let this be a lesson to me about doing a better job at writing down my dream when they are fresh...and not on a loose sheet of paper that I am bound to misplace.]

I remember the second thing I decided to do was to find a guy to kiss. I think I remembered trying to go to the Moon, but I just plain felt lazy. Finding a guy to kiss was much much easier.

I flew down to a guy that I thought was good looking. Next thing I remember is that we are in a car making out. He was a good kisser. I pulled back at one point and took a good look at him. He reminded me of Robert Patterson. I remember thinking how I never found Robert Pattersom that good looking, but today he looked really sexy to me.

And that's all that's left in my memory of this dream.

    8. Lucid Dream--Finally getting to the Moon!

      by , 04-14-2011 at 03:40 AM
      3-16-11

      Lucid dream:

I was standing on the lawn by my grandparents' house and looking at the sky. Over the mountains I could see a beautiful cloud. It was colored like a rainbow (like the picture Moonbean used to have in her sig). I pulled out my camera and tried to take a picture. I was so thrilled that I had my camera with me this time, The last time I had seen a cloud like this I was so frustrated that I had left my camera at home. But as I tired to take a picture I found that the button seemed jammed. I tried again and again. I couldn't believe my poor luck to be standing in front of this gorgeous unusual cloud and not able to take a picture.

      Blam. This is a dream.

I started to fly. I remembered that I needed to go to the Moon. I wasn't going to miss another lucid opportunity. I looked up at the sky. I could see the moon shining back at me in the evening sky. I started to fly towards it and quickly realized that I needed to find a quicker way. As I continued to fly I concentrated on forming a portal in front of me so I could fly through it and be on the Moon. But attempt after attempt brought me no result except for a light fuzzy pink patch that I passed right through. Finally I was fed up. I had to get to the Moon now. So with all the determination I had left I decided to just change the sceney and BE on the Moon. Suddenly everything around me started to turn white and grey. I could see hills and craters around me. I landed and took a big jump (this is something I had really wanted to do). My jump took me up slow motion into lunar sky. I noticed an interesting sound that accompanied the jump. I jumped several more times enjoying the odd sense of slow motion and sound. Then I looked over a hill. I saw houses. I went in one of the houses. Inside were two ladies that were cooking. I asked them what they were doing on the Moon. They told me that they were not on the moon. I told them to follow me out of the house and see. They were very surprised to see that their house was now on the Moon. I wondered if I had done something when I had changed the scenery and had somehow taken the houses with me...or taken the moon home to me.

And that's actually all I remember of being on the moon.

    9. TotY 2011, Star Wars, 30-40 minutes

      by , 04-13-2011 at 04:46 PM
I am in a large, paved area (an airport, I think). There are large halls and my room is in one of them. I get a pink, silky shirt from somewhere. I put it on and go to bed. The shirt is a little too tight. Soon I get up, take the shirt off. I check the time. It is 09.00. I get confused, because I thought it was night already. I go hiking to the mountains near the airport with some other people. The next thing I remember is a forest. We are walking on a path. About 10 metres below is an iron plate that I remember from another dream. It shows the landing time of an UFO. We continue past the plate. Soon we come to a TV set. I ask everyone if they are ready. Then I push a button on the TV. An energy field or something like that traps us. An alien appears and I become lucid. I freeze time. And teleport away. I had decided to do the Star Wars task when I went to sleep. I summon a spaceship around me (aren't they x-wings?). I see the death star. I fly there and follow the corridor. I shoot the torpedoes and they hit their goal. When the Death Star explodes, I wonder what it would feel like being in an explosion in a dream. Then I fly back to earth. The scene with the alien changes into a video game. I shoot the alien with a laser gun. When it grabs my brother, I start beating it. Its hp goes down pretty fast. Soon I win it. I shut the game. My brother protests. I am now back in the airport. That's the last thing I remember.
    10. Drive lucid

by , 04-13-2011 at 01:06 PM (Images In The Night)
I used a member's advice and tried something called ADA if i remember correctly which should stand for "All day awareness". There has to be some truth to it since i havn't had a lucid in almost 3 weeks, and last night i get one after just briefly trying ADA. It was a very brief dream, and is probably shorter than this informative part here in the beginning but the lucidity is what i was happy about.

      Lucidity-5
      Vividness-4

I'm driving a car down a road. Everything seems to be normal. It's my car and it feels just like normal. I start to question reality like i sometimes do. A reality check and... I'm lucid. I continue driving along the road. I can't believe it's a lucid dream after my long dry streak. I literally have a hard time believing it for several seconds while i'm driving, but a few reality checks put some perspective on my situation. I immediately decide for some fun. I run into the other lane halfway and make oncoming cars quickly pull off the side of the road. Some crash, but i don't really look. Then the car goes into a 3rd person view that i'm still controlling. I decide to drive around for a while.

Eventually other things happened while i was lucid, but i just can't remember.

    11. Lucid Dream #32

      Lucidity: 7/10
      Vividness: 6/10
      Length: ~2 Min.

I was in a white room and a statue was talking to me. A very strange girl started to act like a narrator saying that I was very scared. But then I kept saying to myself "I'm not scared, I'm not scared, I'm not scared" Then the creepy stuff went away and everything was alright.
    12. office in a kmart; flying in the dark

      by , 04-13-2011 at 11:46 AM
      Good morning, everybody.

      Dream #1

I was at "my office," which was basically two cubicles set in one of the product islands at a discounter store like a Kmart or a Wal-Mart. I sat in the left cubicle. My co-worker S sat in the right cubicle. There was an aisle for a walkway between us.

I had been doing some kind of work, but now I stood up from my cubicle and walked into the main part of the store. I had probably been thinking about my bad handwriting.

I looked in the distance. Hanging on the wall or hanging from the ceiling were two signs, as big as the signs that might usually advertise products, like in a Target. The signs may just have materialized as I watched them. They mimicked my handwriting, making two whole pages out of little scrawls. The two pages seemed to be slightly curled and almost touching each other back-to-back.

I thought that described my handwriting really well. I was now walking back toward the cubicles. I walked past some sort of exchange counter, which was just a smallish, fake wood counter which may possibly have stood before a dressing room. A kind of big-framed, kind of muscly woman with very short hair stood before the counter. She wore a white tank top and blue jeans.

The woman was trying to exchange something that looked like a classical statue of a chest and head of a man. The sculpture was in some kind of grey, slatey material. The back of the sculpture was completely flat. It hadn't had any features carved into it, but there were all kinds of apparently accidental scratches made in it.

As I headed back to my desk, my co-worker CB, a peer to my boss, walked up behind me. He had completely shaved his head, and he looked a little more tan than before. He wore a green shirt with white woven in, so that it looked like it was inside-out, and some blue jeans.

I was afraid that CB hated me. I also knew that my boss wasn't around, so I figured CB would try to make trouble. So I tried to hurry and sit down at my desk. But, for some reason, CB kissed me on the head. He said something nice to me. He may have asked me to help him with some issue he was having with a project. I was relieved that he didn't hate me.

(Although in waking life I don't think I'd appreciate it if he kissed me on the head.)

      Dream #2

I was in a dark hallway that was made of big, stone blocks. The hallway was tall, somewhat wide, and almost completely dark. I was apparently taking a break from studying.

Just for fun, apparently, I decided to bounce upwards off the walls. I bounced from wall to wall, bringing myself higher and higher. I was finally almost to the ceiling. At this point my body was horizontal, as if I were floating and laying on my left side.

I thought I should probably get back to studying. But I figured that what I was doing now was also educational, as well as fun. So why not keep doing it? I decided that since I was basically floating, I might as well fly through the hallway.

I flew through the hallway and into some dark room that was kind of like some classical study in a mansion and a messy, suburban living room. My mom may have been sleeping on the couch.

There was a sliding glass door at the back of the room. It had a thin, light brown curtain on it. As I flew toward the door, I thought, I can only fly in my dreams. I thought, Well, I don't think I'm dreaming, even though I'm flying. But I thought, Well, if I'm dreaming, I should be able to go straight through the closed glass door. I should try.

So I flew at the door. I may have felt myself pushing through the curtain and the glass. I may have thought, Well, I guess I am dreaming.
    13. Long Lucid with Lots of Flying and More Progress on Intangibility (Night of April 9)

by , 04-13-2011 at 06:30 AM (The Lab Notebook)
[This is a catchup post. This dream is from the night of April 8-9, 2011.]

Awake, Non-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

I'm in my current bedroom. I have my mom's purse, and I'm on my way to take it out to the living room and put it on the cedar chest, where it goes. I think I must have just woken up normally, so as I walk to the living room, I'm thinking something like, If this is the real world, then that's fine. But if this is a dream...

By the time I get out into the living room, I've figured out
that it is a dream. No specific trigger or dream sign tells me this; I just recognize the feel of the world around me, and what it feels like to be in a dream. I set my mom's purse down on the floor next to the cedar chest and turn to walk out the front door. As I move my hand away from the purse after letting go, I can see that no part of the purse or its strap is touching my hand, and yet I feel resistance on my hand, as if the strap were caught on my wrist. I realize, I can't just carelessly set it down and walk away, like in the real world. I have to think that I'm setting it down. My mind is controlling everything, and I didn't think about wanting to put it down, so it feels like I still have it. So I consciously think about letting go of the purse, and the feeling of the strap goes away.

I turn my attention to the front door. The main door is open, but the screen door is closed. It's a beautiful, sunny day outside. "This screen door..." I say to myself. I decide to take this opportunity to work on my goal of becoming intangible and walking through things. I concentrate on the ideas that door is not solid when I will it not to be, because this is a dream, and I am able to pass through it, and start walking through it. It works! I get part of the way through it, but I'm so pleased to find that it's working that it takes some of my concentration away from those ideas, which immediately causes the door to become solid again. I end up with the door stuck around the middle of my body. The door is now parallel to the ground, and my body is sticking through the hole I've created in the middle of the door. I can feel the ends of the metal wires poking me in the stomach and back. I feel very silly.

I give up on that for now and decide to just go flying again, since I know I'm good at that and it's fun. I turn back toward the interior of the house, take a step inside, and kick off the floor with my ankles, like always. I launch myself toward the ceiling and find I can easily stay up there, flying just under it in a lazy arc. I laugh out loud, feeling contented, pleased with myself, and so happy to be back in another lucid dream.

[Dreamskip.] My mom and I are riding on a train through our old town. The train runs along Church Street, which is lined with very large, elaborate church buildings in a variety of different architectural styles. [In real life, that street only has one, fairly small church building on it.] Some of the churches are still open, but others are empty and closed, and still others are now being used for other purposes. One of them is now a Ralphs grocery store. My mom says something about how our church is still open, even though several of these are closed.

The train comes to a stop. I say, “Isn't this our stop?”
[I think I was still aware that I was dreaming throughout all this, but it completely didn't occur to me to do anything other than follow along with the dream plot.] We get off the train and walk through the high-ceilinged train station until we get to the entrance of a bird exhibit. The exhibit consists of a series of crooked, jointed tubes through which visitors have to climb upwards. There are chains hanging down from the ceiling of the tube near the entrance. There are windows in the tubes so that you can see out into the birds' habitat.

I start climbing up into the tubes. There is a guy climbing in front of me. There are lots of small handles attached to the walls in convenient locations for climbers to grab on to. As I climb, I notice that one of my hands
[my right, I think] is partially numb. My ring and pinky fingers, especially, feel like they've fallen asleep. This makes it more difficult to get a solid grip on the handles with that hand, so I have to rely more on my left hand and arm.

[Dreamskip.] I'm now in this shop/museum exhibit place. I see a procession of people leave the room through one exit, including Willy Wonka as portrayed by Gene Wilder. I turn back to the interior of the shop, and see that my mom is at the checkout counter, buying something. There are several other people gathered around it. I ask an employee standing in the middle of the shop for directions to the exit. She makes a sarcastic reference to flying to get there. I reply, “Besides that.” She gives me directions to another exit. I follow her directions into another room of the shop. [At some point during this sequence, I don't remember when,] I see a page with lines from a musical written on it.

[Dreamskip.] I'm flying through an area where there are a whole bunch of big rectangular swimming pools, each with giant humanoid robots designed to look like sports players standing at either end of the pool.

[Dreamskip.] I'm flying up into space, flying backward and watching the view of the Earth below me. I go up high enough that I can see the entire round Earth at once. Then I decide to start going back down again. As I do so, I pass through a field of light-brown, rocky asteroids that surround the Earth. I see the ground getting closer and closer as I descend. I'm heading toward the center of North America.

I end up someplace in Kansas. I find myself in a large room with a bunch of other young women, all of whom are wearing old-fashioned green-and-white dresses with aprons. I tie a green cloth around my waist in an attempt to blend in with the crowd. A white pattern appears on the cloth as I watch.

The group of young women walks out of the room, and I go with them. The room proves to be underground; we exit it and go outside by walking up a sloping tunnel into the sunlight. When we get outside, I see that we're in a very well-done historical theme park with a richly detailed environment. I decide to start flying again, and I fly over the theme park, admiring the view of it from up high.

[Fragment – not sure where in the sequence this was, but I remember dreaming it.] I'm in the ocean, with waves moving around me. The waves are washing me up on to a shore. I think, Oh, crap. Is this the shore of my own subconscious? [I don't remember what came next, though.]

[The next thing I remember,] I find myself back at the area with the pools and the giant robots, still flying. I fly up in front of a robot who looks like a giant football player. He throws a football to me, and I try to catch it, but miss. He says something like, “That would have been complete for 10 yards!” I answer in a smart-alecky tone, “Yeah, it would have been complete... if my feet were on the ground!”

[Dreamskip.] I'm now in an airplane hangar, still flying. The hangar has very large windows that can't be opened. I decide to try to fly through them. I succeed.

“Holy s***! I did it!” I exclaim aloud. I've finally successfully gone through a solid object without leaving a hole in it! I'm very excited and pleased.

I fly around a bit more outside. I see that the hangar is one of many like it, all painted tan on the outside and all built in a big, dusty lot.

I woke up to discover that I'd fallen asleep with my forearms still resting against my ribcage, thus cutting off most of the circulation to my right hand and forearm. I realized that in the dream, when I had been climbing and noticed that one of my hands felt partially numb, it must have been because of the sense data coming through from my real body.

      -----------
      Side notes:

Wow! This was a really long, elaborate lucid. The dreams that I remember probably lasted a total of between 15 and 30 minutes. I accomplished this via two means:
      - setting a WBTB alarm for about 6 hours after I'd gone to bed and staying up for about 5 minutes, reading entries in my paper DJ
      - MILDing for longer and with more tenacity than I have been lately, using phrases that included "I will have a lucid dream tonight," "When I'm dreaming, I realize that I'm dreaming," and "I bring awareness and clarity into my dreams."

When I woke up and was recalling my dreams, I made a connection that I hadn't made while I was dreaming: I've passed partway into mirrors in dreams on two separate occasions before. I always know that they're going to be intangible to me, and they always are. Mental techniques and expectations similar to the ones that have allowed me to pass through mirrors should also allow me to pass through other solid things, like walls. In fact, going through the screen door worked similarly: I knew that it would be intangible to me, at least when I first set out to go through it. In the future, I just need to sustain that thought/belief/knowledge for long enough to get all the way through the object.

    14. horse riding, scooby doo, kidnapped.

      by , 04-13-2011 at 05:32 AM
Dream (part 1): got to ride horse in exchange for cleaning out stables.
One of the sons of the owners of the "farm" "likes" me. So we take a trail somewhere. Somehow after going past some bushes we end up in what looks like a Wild West town. (we too were dressed up like cow folks).

In the Western style town we stopped at a saloon. We passed some men playing poker
in the building and I kind of mentioned "Don't have your back facing the door". Than after a shot
(with everyone ducking flat on the floor.) the boy and I leave and the next thing

I know we are in another town, this one fantasy
I somehow was dressed like a knight and so was the boy. I realized why in a second. I was riding "regular" instead of side saddle.

So I went back to the bushes to change to a side saddle
This is where it get creepy. As I was changing the saddles, a Lee-Enfield Jungle Carbine gun pressed my back.
Whoever the owner was (I didn't see him) said to go the back way to the castle w/o the horse and when I
reach the castle to go to the top most tower. SO I went (even though I know I shouldn't-but It was like I was bewitched and yet
at the same time I wasn't) and at the top most tower there was a room. In the room, was a chair. That owner less voice
told me to sit in the chair. I did and ropes and a handkerchief/rag came out of nowhere and the ropes starting snaking up my arm
and the handkerchief/rag ended up over my mouth. I thought "oh bother got myself kidnapped again". I somehow got aware that
the Scooby Doo gang was in the building.

part 2: Still in the castle's topmost tower tied in/to a chair. I started doing a SOS using my high heels. Shaggy thinking
it was whatever "monster" they were after started to leave. But Vemla first said hold your pants on Shaggy, I don't think the
noise is the 'monster' we are after since it sounds like he/she is in trouble". Velma
has some kind of laptop which could translates (only word
I could think of) morse code and also could send morse code in return.

She was about to ask through Morse code when Daphne said: "Anne (me) got herself kidnapped again and she's up there?" (they were directly below me-besides they were in a (previous dream of mine). I stomped my foot very hard when I heard my name. I also send a Morse code telling them to get out of
the building and if they see a boy on a horse, and is leading a riderless horse to send him toward the castle.
    15. 1/4 Mon: New Office, Short Falling WILD

by , 04-12-2011 at 08:44 PM (One Must Imagine Sisyphus Happy)
Still not writing in my paper journal so my non-lucid recall is poor. Bad Sisyphus, bad.

      fragment
Only remember that it was unpleasant.

      fragment
      Also something stressful and unpleasant.

      New Office
IWL, I'm changing jobs very soon. That explains the content of this dream. I enter an office. It's small, just big enough for 3x3 grid of cubicles. On one side there is a desk for the receptionist and another desk with a computer labeled "Visitor". Overall, it feel more like a classroom than an office. Anyway, I'm with MS. We go to his desk and I expect him to show me where my desk will be. But he walks off and I'm left standing there. MS starts talking to an Indian girl. I walk toward the receptionist and tell her that I know MS and I'm here to see MA. She doesn't do anything and I get a bit upset.

I sit down on the carpet in front of the Visitor desk. The Indian girl sits near me. She says she is going to be the lead of some department and she will be my supervisor. I am dubious and again upset. I'm an engineer, not some CSR. MS brings the Indian girl a tray of food, like in a school cafeteria. I try to catch MS's attention so we can go about our business but he doesn't notice me.

      Short Falling
      Method WILD
Last cycle of the night I attempt a WILD using the fall-through-the-bed technique. I manage to fall and feel the rush of air around me. As usual, it's dark with brief flashes of light. But as I'm trying to summon my landing point, the dream fades. Bummer.
