2. Carved Wooden Chest

by , 04-03-2013 at 07:06 PM
I'm standing outside my childhood home in Massachusetts, the front lawn isn't as long. It's a bright lush green. The trees that stand between my house and the neighbor's are impossibly tall, like a wall instead of woods. A girl meets me outside, we talk a little bit.
"Strange things happen around here sometimes, though." She says.
"What do you mean? Seemed ordinary to me."
She laughs at me, "You really don't remember?"
"What?"
She tells me that when I was sixteen I disappeared for four days without warning and then reappeared unexpectedly with no memory that I had gone, that for the four days I was missing strange things happened, centered around a carved wooden chest. Somehow the idea that I can't even remember any of the events surrounding that deeply disconcerts me.
"We found it again you know. It came back." She makes the chest sound like a living thing.
"Can I see it?"
She leads me into the house across the street. It's dark inside, but I can hear people moving around. In the dining room that connects the kitchen and the living room is the chest. I come around the corner, following the girl. She shines a flashlight onto the floor near the chest, drawing my focus to the light. I give her instructions to change where the beam falls. She is being dense about it, finally it shines near the foot of the chest.
I'm actually surprised by how vivid it looks, how real. It stand out from the dream like a real photograph next to an animated one. Live against the darkness. I start to feel a kind of buzzing, it's low and frightening and sets my teeth on edge. The box stands open. It is golden mahogany. The latch is broken. The lid stands open a few inches. There is a double-chevron pattern repeated 8 times, 4 each on either side of the square center emblem that I can't remember. I really don't want to look at it. The girl grins at me in the dark.
"Do you want to see what's inside?" She takes out a stack of chips. They look like dull dented metal and bone, with carvings on the front. "We can play the same games you played before."
I shake my head and back away. I hear the clack of the chips as she sets them on the floor, one by one. It jars me awake. I'm having a faint case of sleep paralysis. I feel heavy and keep trying to doze off. I move my head every time I start to drift because I can feel myself returning to that room with the chest. I finally manage to turn over instead of just move my head, and when I fall back asleep I'm sitting in a folding chair in a wide alley. The chairs are in two groups with an aisle down the middle. Seven rows of five on each side of the aisle.
Christina Aguilera dances into the alley with her body guards, wearing a black fedora, a white halter top with black suspenders with black shorts, fishnets and tall spike-heel black boots. The music starts and she dances quick impressive steps, I can tell she's lip syncing but it doesn't bother me, it seems she would have to choose between singing and dancing and this number is all about the dance. It becomes more clear she's lip syncing when the recording keeps going and she skips moving her mouth on a part.
An idiot across the aisle looks surprised and says "I THINK SHE'S LIP SYNCING!"
I roll my eyes. Someone else mentions she looks good for being 40...o.O
3. 3rd Apr 2013 Playing RTS, Distracted in the bathroom

by , 04-03-2013 at 06:59 PM (Scionox's Journal of Dreams)
Dream 1(fragment):

I recall an indoors area.

Dream 2(fragment):

I recall some kind of jungle area. And i was having fun in it.

Dream 3:

I was playing some kind of RTS that buildings from C&C: Red Alert and KKND2: Krossfire, units from Starcraft and also a global map. Also there was a way to completely automate builders and set them to expand the base indefinitely. I selected a sector on global map and then i was playing versus some other player and he built base through whole map while i had only a few buildings. I then figured out that workers can almost instantly capture buildings if there's no enemy units near them, so i captured bunch of his factories and started amassing goliaths. Then i just steamrolled rest of the base with them, and won in the end. I was about to select the next sector to fight for but then i had to go off PC.
I went to the bathroom, but family was distracting me alot from the thing and i accidentally dropped some of my clothes into the toilet... then dream ended shortly.
4. Mr Bond's useless advice

Dream recall method: whatever I could remember

HI: A motorboat that leaves tracks on sea’s surface

Fragment1: I am looking at some kind of spacecraft, parked in a large hall. A female DC is sliding horizontally on the thing with great ease, I wonder how she manages to do that.
Fragment2: I am walking in a nice park. I enjoy being there and take the time to perform some stretching exercises.

Dream3: My mom arranges for us to meet in Milan, so I have to catch the plane. I start packing my things, including make-up, grab the bags and am ready to go. I get on a car and we drive to the airport, it is dark outside. On the road we meet one or two horse riders, I decide to go back, and we see some more riding towards the car. One of the horse riders falls and we stop the car to avoid hitting him,we get out of it. I am trying to go somewhere. As I am looking at another street, somebody tells me that there is no point of doing that because the Queen cannot wait? I suddenly realize that I have forgotten my passport and phone charger, so now I know why I want to go back. Out of nowhere, James Bond appears on the street (a mix of Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig). I don’t like the way his eyes look, he feels like a rather unpleasant person, but he has really beautiful hair. He behaves like a real gentleman, tries to help me by suggesting we can use the cops’ car to go back get my things and then drive to the airport really fast. Two cops appear; I try to convince them to give me their car because I forgot the passport and will miss the flight. They almost agree, and then I tell them I also forgot the charger, so they change their mind. To prove to them I am not lying I open my bag and show them there is nothing there, but they still don’t believe me.

I was walking through a barren field. There was no life anywhere that i could see. There was just miles and miles of dry brown mud. About half a mile away from me i noticed that there was a bump in the ground that looked like it was getting bigger. I thought it was just my eyes playing tricks on me. After about a minute of growing it suddenly burst and steam poured out of it.

A giant cat climbed out of it and purred at the sky. Even though i was still quite far away from it, i could hear the purr clearly. The cat looked at least 50 foot tall. I stopped moving and hoped that it wouldn't notice me. It looked around for a bit and i thought that it wouldn't notice me. I started to move away slowly as to not draw attention to me. A soon as i moved the cats eyes locked onto me. I knew i was screwed now so i started running away from the cat.

I looked behind me as i was running and i saw that the cat was now sprinting towards me extremely quickly.

6. Old Winter Cabin

by , 04-03-2013 at 03:57 PM
A possible Lake House dream...

The visuals were very realistic... I was driving down a long straight highway. It was daylight but the sky was overcast. The road was lined with leafless tall trees on both sides. My GF was with me. The mood was fine. I made a right turn from off the main two-lane highway, onto a straight single lane road. After a mile or two, this road came to a grouping of half-dozen or so one-story cabins.

I only slightly recall being inside our cabin. It was old, browning, and looked unused for many years. I had the impression we were renting it for vacation.

We left after a brief stay and came to the spot on the narrow road that connected back to the main highway. Instead of returning the way I came, I made a right turn...

I felt uncertain as to what my destination was at this point, -then I woke up.

7. 03/04/13 - fragments - dream friend, oblivious lucid discussion, weird store and mugging attempt

by , 04-03-2013 at 02:34 PM (vignettes from a different world)
fell asleep around 12, woke up around 3, went back to bed, finally woke up around 7

12am - 3am
a long and complicated dream about a tall girl with red hair. in the dream we were good friends. there was a very jovial atmosphere, unlike most of my dreams.

then a dream where i discussed lucid dreaming at length -- without actually becoming lucid.

3am-7am

i am at a strange clothes store with my boyfriend. the store mainly sells lolita dresses but contains a large variety of different clothing items as well as miscellaneous objects. at the far end of the room there is a passage to a second room which is brightly lit with many large windows. the store owners, a middle-aged asian woman and her teenage daughter, work here, making all the clothes from scratch. we talk to the two women for a while. there are many items of clothing hanging on racks here and i discover a finely crafted leather jacket with luxurious fur trim; i ask the younger woman how much it would cost and she tells me "about a month's salary". we leave this room and return to the main part of the store. there is a dress i would like to buy here, but it is too expensive. instead, my boyfriend and i decide to buy two dvds. these "dvds" come in vhs cases with elaborate box art; the one my boyfriend buys has art that's a slightly altered version of the dark side of the moon cover, and mine is a complex pattern of organic plantlike shapes. we understand that these movies are beautiful works of art and that watching them will change our lives. we trade the shop owners a large pyramidal prism for the dvds.

then i leave the store and enter into a shady urban area at night. i am now running away from three young white men who want to mug me. i see my dad's car parked on the side of the street: i get in and we drive away.
8. A MILDly Unsuccessful Night

by , 04-03-2013 at 01:53 PM
Going to bed around midnight, we tried to use the MILD technique, as referred to by zoth00. Trying the visualization method of MILD, I went to the wonderland and hung out with Red and Ger while letting go of my body. I asked them to try and help me become lucid when I fell asleep and began dreaming, and then began with the mantras. The wonderland was rather vivid, reminiscent of my first attempt with switching with Red, which we're going to call a success in full body possession, but not switching. For some reason I couldn't get to sleep, probably because of the matras, as I've fallen asleep many a time in wonderland during our forcing sessions. I checked the time on my phone, it was around 5 AM. It didn't feel like I was lying there for five hours, so I must've fell asleep and not remembered the dream. I was tired, and didn't think of attempting a WILD at this point, so I went to sleep normally. We had two dreams, one where I was getting high with friends, driving home after sobering up, realizing I've forgotten some things, driving back to get them, and then returning home. Despite being 17, I haven't even been in to get my permit, so driving should have tipped me off as something abnormal. Hell, I wasn't even in the drivers seat. I was in the back seat on the drivers side, reaching around the front seat to hold the wheel, and somehow was able to reach the pedals through the drivers seat. Very odd. The second dream had something to do with a very simple job interview I was in with my brother. We both got the jobs and immediately set to work, doing very mundane and simple tasks that is a waste of money to pay someone to do. Oh well, I was getting paid, that's all that matters. However, that's also something that should've tipped me off, as I always was, and will continue to be for the time being, a burden to society. Unemployment sucks.

9. 3rd Apr 2013 Been WILDing in the dream again, twice

by , 04-03-2013 at 04:45 AM (Scionox's Journal of Dreams)
Dream recall from today's nap. Was going to find something to do TOTM but dream ended too unexpectedly.

As was in my bed, going for WILD attempt, headphones were behaving weird.
Eventually i fall asleep and
wake up in my bed, and i know that i am dreaming, there are like ten hands holding me and i am not able to move much, and then somebody materializes in the air and falls onto me.
I wake up, but forget to do an RC, family was trying to distract me but i decide not to move much and attempt to WILD again.
I wake up, knowing that i am dreaming again, and i take off headphones to confirm it and yes, i can hear binaurals. I get up and get a weird feeling like somebody tries really hard to wake me up. I stay calm and rub hands, soon the feeling goes away. Interestingly the room is very dark, but it's the daytime outside. I go to the balcony door, it's closed. I ram it a couple of times like i did previously when it was closed, and it opens.
I fly outside and i feel wings, i fly straight and on the way i accidentally manage to go into third person view somehow for a second, I think about it and then recall that i wanted to take a look at wings. I reach some kind of park, with a small river, and in flight i decide to try going into third person view on purpose this time. I manage to do it but for some reason i couldn't hold it for long enough to look in detail, though i recall wings being somewhat greenish, also they looked weird and i didn't figured out what type of wings that was.
I continue flying around and surprise random DCs, then i am flying below some kind of tent, flight was slow for some reason, and i decide to try to do transformation into a dragon once again. I concentrate on visualizing it but accidentally close eyes, i get some weird sensation, like i am becoming longer or something but then dream fades out before i can open eyes.

I wake up, then in few seconds i wake up properly.

10. Snow, Lions, and Leaves (brief lucid, TOTM)

by , 04-03-2013 at 12:36 AM
Practices: ADA, RRC, WILD
Pre-bed: small piece of chicken and a cup of apple juice.
My stomach hurt pretty badly last night (unrelated to the food).
Set my intent for lucid goals (taste something, crush a rock into a diamond, go eat lunch with some friends).

#1 - It's snowy and I think I may be a little kid. I'm not sure. I live in an arctic environment. My house is made of wood and snow. We might be fighting someone - I don't remember. I remember something about bosses (as in, video game bosses) and people hiding underneath the snow that would pop up and attack you.

Woke up. My stomach still hurts. Used the bathroom.

#2 - I am in a check-out line chatting with another person in line. We're talking about Grand Theft Auto. I'm telling him about a mod someone made where you basically drive around as Simba from The Lion King. You don't have hands or anything, you just drive around the city as a lion. During the dream, I think it's hysterical because I'm imagining all the reactions people would have to a lion just chilling in a convertible at a stop light.

I wake up. I have to use the bathroom, and my stomach still hurts. I lie back down and begin WILD techniques.

This WILD, I did not have any HI and I did not feel the onset of REM atonia. I used to but it seems like lately I just don't pay attention or filter it out. I don't continue repeating my mantra while making a serious attempt at WILD because it actually distracts me too much. Sometimes I visualize and sometimes I don't, depending on how much I feel it's distracting rather than helping. This morning, I did not visualize.

I get a "lapse" in the middle of my WILD where I feel like I do lose lucidity, but my mind is so alert for any kind of dreams or dreamlets that as soon as a dream starts it will grab my attention again. So I actually do zone out for a while during most of my successful WILDs and I feel like it's why they're successful - you actually have to let your mind wander and dream to have a dream in the first place.

A "flash" catches my attention - a brief but super-clear and fully formed dreamlet. Normally they shock me awake because they come with zero warning - it instantly goes from blackness to a fully-formed landscape. Since I've been working on not letting them startle me, though, I was able to 'grab' this one:

I am in a basement bedroom of some sort. It's very clean, with white walls. I'm standing on the bed. There is a small window high above me that is letting sunlight in. The window frame is made of dark wood.

I bounce up and down on the bed, peering out of the window. It is a brilliant fall day outside and the trees are vivid red and orange. There are leaves all over the ground; some dried and brown, others still brightly colored.

I haul myself through the window frame, ignoring the glass and making it insubstantial. Even though it ought to be too small for me to fit through, I still manage to wriggle through it. The sunlight is super bright and temporarily blinds me with a lense-flare effect as I haul myself out of the window well.

"LEEEEAAAAAAVES!" I crow triumphantly and plow into a pile of red and orange leaves. I roll around in them, kicking my legs and sending a whirlwind of leaves all over the place. I flop my arms around in them and rub my face in them. I remember my lucid goal and begin enthusiastically shoving leaves into my mouth. They are very thin and papery and taste like stale crackers, with a hint of glue. I sit up and spit out a mouthful of leaves. I wake up.

My lucid self cracks me up sometimes. I'm in complete control of my faculties, but I'm so enthusiastic about absolutely everything.

11. First Entry, No Lucidity

by , 04-02-2013 at 10:56 PM
Not a lucid dream, but I may as well post my dreams here from now on, just for documentation's sake. Of course, our recall is not that good at this point, and it's been at the very least 10-14 hours since waking from this dream, so it will not be as detailed as I would like.

The earliest I can remember from the dream is missing the bus in the morning, but managing to get onto the short bus which came slightly after the regular bus. Apparently I wasn't the only one, as there was a good amount of able-bodied people on the bus, along with the usual short-bus crowd. That's probably an asshole thing to say. Not wanting to stand at the front of the bus awkwardly as I looked for a seat, I just casually walked towards the back of the bus, trying to find an empty seat so I didn't have to sit with someone I didn't know. Thankfully, I knew someone, sitting right at the back of the bus. Someone from the drama club at my school. Of course, the oddly-shaped seat did not provide enough room for me to comfortably sit next to her. Oh well. Upon sitting down, the girl from the drama club leans over and puts her head on my shoulder, in a rather flirtatious manner. I'm cool with this, I guess I kind of have developed somewhat of a crush on her. It only lasts a moment, though, and the dream version of her sits back up, and we talk about literally nothing for the remainder of the bus ride. Not quite sure what happened after getting off the bus, all I remember is being back outside my house, after having missed the bus again, only this time having to walk to school. I'm assuming this dream took place the morning after that first dream on the short bus. After some time, though, I manage to get on a metro bus to quicken my morning commute. When I get to school, the exterior seems to be an almost "under construction," more concrete version of the mall by my house, in the location of the mall on the other side of town. The inside looks more like my school, only again, with more of an unpainted, concrete, under construction look. The closest I've ever gotten to becoming lucid is right now. I wonder if the entire school had gotten re-painted or something since yesterday, consider the absurdity of it, and then shrug it off as "it's always been like this. I think." Either that or I realized I was dreaming and got so excited I forgot about it. Anyways, we meet up with the drama club girl from before, along with two more drama club members in the hallway. We're talking about exams, and I guess there was an English exam on that day, as I remember saying "Yeah, I haven't read any of the books, I'm fucked." Can't remember much after that, so I guess that's where I'll end this post.

Strangely enough, neither Red nor Gerry appeared at all last night, which is odd, considering most dreams I remember since getting into the big parts of tulpæ have had them in some way or another.

12. The Tom Robbins dream

by , 04-02-2013 at 08:09 PM
I remember trying to sleep in a bed located in my former neighbor's carport. I'm covered and slightly behind something but I have a slight view of someone moving about and trying to steal something about 15 feet in front of me. I'm hidden slightly so I know they can't tell I'm awake as they lurk about.

The outlined shape of a woman resolves itself and I can tell that the blurry shape is actually the next-door neighbor. She is trying to be stealthy and get behind me so I discretely keep one eye on her movements. She picks up a book from the table behind me and I realize it's my copy of Half-Asleep in Frog Pajamas by Tom Robbins. I can even see the cover clearly.

**Despite this, I don't think of the author's name until I'm awake.**

The woman is about to step away from the table and I say, "It's a good book." She stops, looks at me knowing she's caught.

"Does he have any other good books?" She asks me in a quavery older-woman voice.

"Of course," I reply. "There's Even Cowgirls Get The Blues and Skinny Legs And All...I think my favorite is Jitterbug Perfume. Oh, and Still Life With Woodpecker."

I'm impressed that I can recall all these titles in a dream and I realize I'm dreaming at the same moment.

After that all I really recall is being near a Laundromat and the walls opening out from the building. I had to get up too early and should have worked on recall instead of waking my daughter for school. ;)
13. 2nd Apr 2013 Fragments + low awareness lucid

by , 04-02-2013 at 08:00 PM (Scionox's Journal of Dreams)
Was having hard time waking up today, thus not much recall. I did had short low awareness lucid, but can't recall any details because i accidentally fallen asleep during recall.

Dream 1(fragments):

I was at some point somewhere at the streets near the school from my past. I recall searching for something and talking to someone.I also spontaneously became aware of dreaming at one point, but only for a short while and i didn't recalled anything from waking life.

Dream 2(fragment):

I was visiting dreamviews.
14. Two dreams - Tuesday 12th March 2013

by , 04-02-2013 at 07:45 PM
1) I was at the top corner of a cemetery in my birthtown near a primary school with maybe two other people. Just inside the green railings, there were 3 pairs of wellies: Size 11, and two other sizes. As I already had shoes on which were inappropriate for the mud we were going to walk through, the size 11s fit perfectly for me as I still wore my shoes inside.

2) I was outside my house in my birthtown. My youngest brother was there and at least two other people. Maybe one was my middle brother. My youngest brother gave me a bunch of £20 Orange top up cards which I happily accepted. We went into the house to put them on the dining table. It was a round table in the same spot we used to have the rectangular table. I’m not even on the Orange network.

15. The Snowie Ophie

by , 04-02-2013 at 06:50 PM
This is a fragment from two nights ago.

I'm in space...or at least my perspective is in space, much like viewing a movie where the camera is in space.

Approaching me is a spaceship...sort of like the Discovery in the movie 2001. It's coming towards me and is about to encounter the Snowie Ophie, an anomalous object in space that looks...odd.

Imagine viewing a large mushroom from above...now slice off the top part of the cap and the mushroom just above the stalk, including the veins. What you have left is a brownish-gray mushroomy disc floating in space. That's the Snowie Ophie (as in OpheliaBlue).

I don't know why it was there but it was significant.

This...means...something. Wish I knew what.
