      So many dreams about Turkey. Here is another one.

      I'm underground with some others. Going to a bridge. Come to a bridge base which is underground. I tell the other person, that some bridges allow you to climb and walk over the top of it, like the one in Sydney. This one had a steep incline and I was thinking we gonna slide off. But the surface was bumpy, and another person showed me how we are not going to slide down, when he slid down on purpose, but stopped by itself.

      We got up and others were already waiting. A simple wooden door. I knew Istanbul is behind it. The door opened and it was raining. I had a feeling that it was some kind of a portal, because where we were standing, we were not in Turkey.

      I asked others if any of them visited Istanbul before and few of them raised there hands. They agreed with me, how beautiful the city is, and I was happy I will be able to show the others, be their guide.

      As we crossed the door, it was night. I was telling them that when we get to a city square, there were be a soldier in ceremonial dress and he is super nice and friendly.

      There were other things we were going to look at.

    2. 17-12-XX Bank Robbery, Turkey Disaster, Barcelona

      by , 01-01-2018 at 05:08 PM
      I had money issues (as I do in real life, been unemployed for too long) and I'd agreed to take part in a bank robbery with a few professional bank robbers. I'd never committed a crime before, so I was very nervous. In the car on our way to the bank, I got cold feet. And the rest of the crew, not exactly nice people, noticed. They said that if I got nervous, the deal would be off. So I said I was good. We all had carbines, but they assured me we'd rob the bank at night and almost no one would be around. They lied. They used a lot of force and violence and I think people got hurt. I complained that this wasn't what we agreed. I was worried enough about being charged for robbery, and I didn't want accomplice to murder being added to that list. And I'm generally speaking not a murderer. These other guys... were nothing like me.

      I was in a city in Turkey, and suddenly some kind of earthquake shook the ground. People assumed it was a nuclear explosion for a while, but then we realized it wasn't. Don't know what it was. Just a quake, I guess? People were standing on this rickety bridge above a pool of water (in the city center). I wanted to get off as I realized it might collapse.

      We were traveling to Barcelona in a big bus, like I did a decade ago with school (twice). We got out to take a break, on an empty road somewhere halfway to our destination. There was a massive raging fire on the horizon. One of our teachers (math teacher Van Achteren) came up behind me and talked about a kind of app for merging pictures on her phone? For photographing the fire, I guess. My notes say our history teacher Peeters was there too, but I don't remember him. Notes also say "chocolate egg NL". Yeah, no clue what that means. In a later scene, I was in a hotel room, presumably in Barcelona. We had to share rooms with other students, just like how it was in real life. I realized I'd forgotten a lot of stuff back home, and I had almost nothing on me (just my wallet). I walked on a balcony outside of the hotel, wrapped in a blanket. The wind was blowing so hard, I could barely stand, let alone walk. I couldn't keep up with the others, who had already left. I was terrified of being left behind.

    3. Speed-run ToTM and a dare dream, one-shot killing a turkey and brief chat with a DC

      Speed-run ToTM and a dare dream, one-shot killing a turkey and brief chat with a DC (DILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      I believe this is possibly the lamest ToTM I have ever worked on, and to be honest, I did not even see this coming. I have been coding for a new dream journal software like a maniac... and well, every time I woke up in the middle of the night, all I had in my mind was a bunch of code (that I wont paste here lol) and yet, I got a lucid dream. I naturally woke up around 7:30am (alarm clock triggers at 8:00am) and I was laying on my back, just relaxing to wait for the clock. After a while I found myself driving down the street. I was in what I believe to be a manual transmission car, as I had to switch gears manually. I got inside a building and I was driving down the stars, but now, I was riding a red bike:

      I was driving through aisles and up and down the stairs, and yet, I had a manual transmission strick to switch gears,
      realizing how it could be even possible... realizing that it was impossible for a bike and realizing that my car just turned into a bike and I was indoors, so I turned lucid.

      I was surprised by the dream, and feared that anytime soon the alarm clock was going to trigger. I saw a small child in the middle of a big empty room and I asked him:
      - "What are you grateful for?"
      - Chocolate! - he replied.

      I was like, okay... and then realized that asking that was not a ToTM.
      - What is my name? - I asked him.
      - Manolo, like the supermarket - He replied
      (That is not my name nor I have seen a super market named like that.

      I recalled I had to tell him that it was a dream, so:
      - This is a dream - I exalted.
      - No, I am awake, we are not dreaming - He replied.

      I rose my hand and showed it to him, claiming we were in a dream. My hand looked perfectly fine, five perfect fingers... so I was like, what the hell. I looked at my hand again, perfect... another false positive. I knew we were dreaming because of the bike, I looked a third time and then, two of my fingers were overlaying each other and they were like holograms. I realized that the child was doing his own business, but since he replied, I was done.

      I then decided to walk backwards, as I believed it was a dare. Simple task... I walked a good 50 steps backwards, but nothing out of the blue happened.

      I then went ahead to remember the other ToTM without much success... so much coding, so little reading I told to myself. I believed that the bonus task was to steal the turkey that the President saved and decide its fate. I figured if I tried to fly outside the building and look for the White House I was not going to make it in time and the alarm clock would ruin it. I pretended that behind a door I was going to find the White House.

      I opened the door and I could see grass and heard birds chirping. I was able to see the White House (even though it was a mix of the white house and Congress, looking something like this

      I saw the President, but it was not Obama. It was a made up African American dude, dressed in business attire. The First lady was next to him, but also made up. I think she looked Chinese. There was a turkey standing next to them, so I figured it was the turkey they saved. I started feeling my cats in bed and started to feel I was waking up rapidly, so I had to do something... I just grabbed the turkey's neck and said, "Your fate is to die." I started to strangle it and little after, I woke up. Since the dare is to decide the fate, I'd say I completed it, as I have decided it would die. I wouldn't have made the choice though if I wasn't waking up, I would have done something much more exciting. This is somewhat short entry, this dream felt quick, very quick.

      5/23/14

      Last night, bed before 10pm - 4:45am

      Was waking up like every hour, felt like I had enough sleep. Then fell asleep after 3 am and had hell of a time waking up to the alarm.

      At first I though there were no dreams, but now I remember more and more

      DR

      I'm traveling on a bus with group of people. Now, we are in Turkey. Someone says Bulgaria, but I look at a store sign, and from abc it's clear, it's Turkey.

      In a house with others, going through it through some trap doors, hidden rooms, twosted staircases, small openings...

    5. Transcendental Turkey Shoot

      by , 11-10-2012 at 04:42 AM
      This was simply the most amazing lucid dream I've ever had. The description is long, but it's as abbreviated as I could get it -- the dream itself felt like it lasted an hour and a half! Absolutely unreal.

      Just the thought of having another LD like this might be enough motivation to last me forever. All I can be is grateful.

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

      Lucid #26: Transcendental Turkey Shoot

      I'm a spectator in an arena where dueling teams of wizards battle it out with fire and ice spells. I'm ranting with another spectator about how terribly they're playing. The spectator says that "it's like they have no awareness!" Hearing about "awareness" instantly makes me lucid (thanks, subconscious!) and I run out of the stands into an outer hallway that's filled with dream characters.

      I want to perform the Task of the Month which requires shooting turkeys with 17th century weaponry. I imagine that I have a huge bundle of preloaded flintlock muskets strapped to my back and it isn't long before turkeys start darting around in the crowd in front of me. I reach over my right shoulder, grab a musket, and aim it at a nearby turkey. I carefully aim and fire, the musket thundering and kicking my shoulder. The shot's a clean miss, and the DC's in the scene start running and screaming.

      I toss my old musket aside and grab a new one from my "bundle". I keep catching sight of turkeys up ahead and I run after them, firing and missing time after time. I chase them onto the arena floor itself, the magical combat still raging wildly around me. I skate across a field of ice that's melting beneath the heat of a raging volcano, the floor nearly collapsing beneath me. It's vivid and exciting but what really has my attention is getting one of these turkeys.

      I take a side door that leads me into a golden elevator. The elevator begins rising the moment that I enter and through its ornate viewing portals I see the shore of an island. I sense that this is an island filled with turkeys and I immediately dive through the portal, plunging headfirst toward the shallow water along the shoreline. I manage to float just in time to avoid a jarring landing and immediately spot a turkey ahead in the distance.

      I run for miles, grabbing musket after musket off of my back and tossing them aside each time that I miss or get a "close call" that yields nothing but a puff of feathers. I even manage to cleanly hit 2 or 3 of them, but each time that I draw close I see that they were really just large pigeons. At one point I reach a narrow valley that's painted with brilliant, cartoon-like colors. I laugh, feeling elated and invincible, like I can run here forever.

      After some time I chase a turkey deep underground through an old barrow. Dream characters join me and leave at times, all strangers. Eventually I run through a weapons display area that's arranged around a giant upright sarcophagus, but all the weaponry appears to be from the Egyptian Bronze Age, not the 17th century.

      In the next room I stumble upon a sad, sullen group of friends and coworkers arranged around a board room table. They're being lorded over by some obnoxious stranger named "Rod" who announces that he's taking over our company and that I should "sit down and shut up". This annoys me, and I slap him so hard that it leaves a handprint on his face. He orders me not to do that, and in response I slap him hard enough to send him sprawling out of his chair. The others around the table applaud, and I jog out of the room, spotting daylight up ahead.

      I emerge onto a dirt road and lean against the guardrail for a moment, thinking about how this is the first time that I've ever attacked a DC. I reflect on how thin my justification was and wonder how this relates to dream yoga's description of playing out negative "karmic traces". Unable to really digest the concept of karma in the dream state, I walk further along the road.

      At the end of the road stands a Roman arch with golden light spilling out of the arch onto the roadway. The arch is designed roughly like the Arch of Constantine:

      When I approach the arch, an enormous flock of brilliantly glowing turkeys goes flying through the arch, passing right overhead! It must be hundreds of them. This kicks up a rush of wind that picks me up off of the road, lays me flat on my back, and carries me gently backward as the stream of turkeys goes flying by above me. It's beautiful and serene and I'm overcome with bliss and elation. I can't stop laughing at how incredible it all is.

      The wind sets me down some distance from the arch and my friend A is standing nearby, smiling at my reaction. He asks how much longer I think this LD can last. I say that I don't know but that it feels like it's been an hour and a half. I tell him that I took some B6 and wonder whether that will change the dream's length.
      Gently, I wake up, still blown away by what I just experienced.
    6. Task of the Month November 2012 November 3rd.

      by , 11-03-2012 at 08:36 PM (Mancon's Wild and Crazy Adventures in the Dream World)
      Basic Task i - Hunt for wild turkey using 17th century weapons. COMPLETED! (Kind of. I hunted a tofu-turkey.)

      Basic Task ii - Have your favorite celebrity chef cook Thanksgiving dinner for you ('dessert' optional) COMPLETED!

      Advanced Task i - Journey to Purgatory and bring back a soul with you (All Soul's Day on November 2nd) Not Completed

      Advanced Task ii - Spell the word November backwards and write it down (R-E-B-M-E-V-O-N) COMPLETED!

      Method: V-WILD

      I was standing on a small beach off the coast of the Caribbean Sea with a Cutlass in my hand. Before I went to bed, I learned that Pirate's used cutlasses in the 17th and 18th century. The water was a vivid, turquoise-blue and I could see several dolphins in the distance. Behind me was a vast area of woodlands. My goal (as a vegetarian) was the find a wild tofu-turkey, hunt it down, and then give it to a Julia Childs to cook for me.

      I started walking through the woods trying to find one. It was completely silent, I couldn't hear anything. I had no idea what a wild tofu-turkey would look like so I was kind of walking around pointlessly. I stepped on something gooey. It was a huge glob of tofu. I went down to pick it up when something landed on my back. It was making high pitched-turkey noises. I tried to grab it off my back but I couldn't feel it! It's claws were hanging on tight! It suddenly let go and fell to the ground, staring at me. It looked exactly like a real turkey, but instead of eyes, they were tofu blocks. It wasn't even moving, just staring at me. It looked possessed. I got my cutlass and tried to hit it. Right before my blade made contact with the tofu-turkey it disappeared into thin air! I walked around trying to find it for another minute when I saw something like this in a tree:

      The owl was holding the tofu-turkey in it's beak! It flew down to me and I killed the tofu-turkey. It flew away.

      I changed the dream scene to the kitchen in my house with the tofu-turkey in my hand. I put it on the counter. I got out my phone and called Julia Childs. She told me she would be there any minute. The doorbell rang and there she was! She asked my what she was cooking for me today. I told her a tofu-turkey and she frowned. She told me she was only going to do it for me because I was her favorite. She had on this huge trench coat and pulled like ten ingredients out in one swipe. She looked up at me and said:

      “The only time to eat diet food is while you're waiting for the steak to cook but your a vegetarian so I guess that won't work out. You disgust me."

      I just smiled and said Okay. All of a sudden a huge plate of tofu-turkey appeared and I took a bite. It tasted like real turkey. She looked at my and started to laugh like a maniac. She told me she tricked me and I was eating real turkey. Then she disappeared. Julia Childs was a bitch.

      I could not remember what the first advanced task was but I did remember to spell November backwards and write it down. It took me several tries but I did it pretty easily. I woke myself up to go see what the first advanced task was but I could fall back asleep! Anyway three tasks down, one to go!

    7. Fragments, Event in Turkey, Swimming Center, Family house.

      by , 01-27-2012 at 12:32 PM (The first foothold of Arch.)
      Non-Lucid Lucid Comment

      Plenty of fragments last night, not sure how they all connect.
      In no particular order...

      I'm on a train with my friend matt and two girls I don't recognise, I'm talking to them about the event in turkey that we are going to see. It appears that we are on some sort of lads holiday, no doubt caused by the fact I am going on one this year. The girls keep talking down to me, as if they are rich and we are poor, I mention the fact that we are going to see this fight.

      Small fragment of the fight going wrong and lots of mechanical monsters roaming around the swimming center.

      In the swimming center, completely naked, we are all going down different slides, the layout makes no sense. When I get out of one slide I am completely lost and just stumble around until I find another. There is a couple kissing in one area and I try to sneak past them to get to a slide, but she grabs me and tells me to meet her in the shower in 10 minutes. I consider!

      At a family house I am with a friend (not sure who). We are attempting to complete something which requires large rocks, so go over to the left side of the house and pull a large rock out of a swimming pool. The family friend tells us that we are welcome here but we are not allowed to take rocks from the pool.
    8. Horrible Recall... Weird Impressions

      by , 11-05-2011 at 04:19 AM (Three Fold Utopian Dreams)
      Yes... I know its been awhile since I've written. But I should be posting more often now that I finally have a good laptop to work from.

      Random & Vague Impressions
      I don't really remember much from last night. I woke up with a weird emotion that i cant comprehend or place. I tried laying back down in the position I was to trigger a better recall but all I got was some more random images. here's a list of them...

      ~ beautiful view from a cliff top. possibly a coastal European city? Nice, France?
      ~ brick walls
      ~ rope
      ~ Kaomea. but she looked about the age she was when I met her. between 13-16 years old.
      ~ lightning
      ~ turkeys running around cobble stone streets
      ~ costume store
      ~ Shasta (alt. name for a personal friend). i didn't see him but i felt him gripping my hand very tightly. maybe with fear?
      ~ floating aimlessly, an abyss
      ~ i remember feeling water in my mouth? like i was drowning but i wasn't afraid. this is strange because i am very afraid of suffocating in any way, shape, or form.
      ~ a randomschool.
      ~ a strange castle.

      and lastly, some of the feelings/impressions i remember in no particular order...

      ~ confusion
      ~ fleeting
      ~ i remember the feeling of analyzing something? like a situation that needed patience and a fresh eye.
      ~ layers. like i was in 2 or 3 spaces of time at once that overlapped.
      ~ the feeling i had when i awoke that i cant describe. it was such a weird emotion, i've never felt it before... i don't even know how to categorize it. it wasn't good or bad... just unknown. it felt like seeing a color that isnt in the normal human color spectrum. Now how the hell am i supposed to describe that? *shrugs*

    9. meeting friend in cafe; with friend in restaurant

      by , 05-28-2011 at 01:32 PM
      Good morning, everybody.

      Dream #1

      I was in a cafe that looked more like a small deli. The space was really tight, although the store seemed to extend pretty far back. There was one narrow area that tiered up a meter or so to a narrow platform. Then there were stairsteps down to a very narrow back area with a drinks display refrigerator. Beside the narrow platform there was some kind of buffet style sevice area, with a cash register at the end, near the front of the store.

      My friend R was in the cafe, sitting at some small table around a corner (?) at the back end of the platform area. I might have been surprised to meet him here, but I may also have been scheduled to meet him here.

      R may have been finished eating. He had at least gotten his food. I was kind of ashamed that I was so slow that I hadn't even picked up my food yet. I needed to get food. R said something like he'd wait for me to get my food and then leave.

      I was definitely thinking of a specific kind of food. I think desserts were the main thing served here. But I got an image in my head of a white cake box with a small turkey or whole cornish game hen in it.

      I looked at the drinks display case for a moment, then I went to the cashier. Space felt pretty weird. Sometimes I felt like I stood higher than the cashier. Other times I felt like I didn't feel like I could order, receive, or pay for my food. I felt like my ineptitude might have been annoying the cashier. But she was remaining polite and smiling the whole time.

      Dream #2

      I was in a restaurant with my friend H. Another woman was following us. The woman was A, a girl who works at a cafe I go to all the time.

      The restaurant was apparently a fine restaurant. But it looked kind of like a big living room in an ordinary, suburban house, filled with dining tables. The windows were smallish and high up on the walls, giving the sense that this place was sunk down a little into the ground. Everything had a blue-grey light. The carpet may have been blue. The restaurant was full of people, mostly older people.

      H and I had been sitting at one table, but the girl A had followed us there. So now we'd been moved to another table. But A followed us there as well. Our table was a long table, maybe made for four or six people. A sat at a table for two which was connected with another table for two by a wooden, bench-style seat. That table was at right angles to ours, and A sat with her back to H and I.

      I may have seen all of this as if I were looking at it from outside my body. I may have been wearing a round-brimmed hat, like I wore in college.

      Upset that A was following us again, I decided to leave the restaurant. I managed to get H and I up and out of the restaurant at a time when A wasn't looking. We were gone, but my view remained in the restaurant.

      A waitress came up to serve A. The waitress was Asian and wore a black shirt and black oants. A asked the waitress who I was and where I was going.

      I probably now saw from A's point of view. She was walking along some portico area made of stone or concrete and brick. She kept passing all these clothing stores and other stores. Some of the stores were set into the brick wall. Others were on the opposite side, the open air side, of the portico, between the columns, apparently in thin air. Other stores were just signs standing up on polished metal poles.

      The stores were all also like apartments. The quality of the clothes in each store indicated the quality of the apartment. A (I still saw through her eyes) was looking through all these stores to find out which one indicated the apartment I lived in.

      As she did this, she had a thought-conversation with a woman who seemed to be an older, guiding figure in her life. I'd occasionally see the woman's face fading before A's view, like a ghostly double-exposure on a photo.

      A finally walked past one store which didn't look like a store at all. It actually looked like the sliding doors of an elevator, except made out of pale wood. The doors were also almost 3 meters tall. There were some words in gold or bronze lettering that gave the name of the store, some store for really good men's suits. This, A assumed, was where I lived, or that this was the clothing store that indicated what kind of apartment I live in.

      A was now convinced that I was some kind of billionaire. I don't think her plan was right away to follow me into this store, which now, at least, actually did lead to my apartment. I think she planned to come up with some way to blackmail me or trick me into being with her so she could have my money.

      But then A (I still seeing through her eyes) saw a man standing in the doorway of the store, as if the doors swung open instead of sliding open. The man was white, about average height, a little stocky, but muscly. He had close-shaved hair on his head and a little stubble on his face. He wore a brown or grey blazer, a green, button-up shirt, and blue jeans.

      The man may have been inviting A into the store. I think that A now figured that she would go into the store and try to find my apartment.
    10. The Great Turkey Liberation Operation

      by , 08-11-2010 at 10:52 AM
      Sorry for my absence. Things have been hectic for me of late. I've been helping Phillip prepare to move into his new house while also moving myself.

      ~~~
      Here's Aug. 7. It's called The Great Turkey Liberation Operation.
      I had some more nightmares. This time focused on Mom and Lloyd. But there was one incredibly vivid dream. The one right before waking.
      We were driving to Dad's. Mom had a boyfriend and he was horrible. Possibly abusive. His car had two sunroofs but they were covered up. Lloyd and I exposed them and opened them. He was extremely angry.
      We stopped in Vtown for gas. Mom was in the front and Lloyd and I were in the back. I have no idea why but there was a wild turkey that belonged to Mom's boyfriend. His pet, maybe. Or perhaps dinner.
      Mom motioned for me to get in the front. "Really?" I whispered. She nodded. Quickly I did so. I was wearing shoes I couldn't comfortably drive in so I took them off as quickly as possible. I locked the doors and took off. It was a chase scene for a while when he got in his other car (which he somehow had at the gas station). It was a white SUV with black trim. Eventually we lost him. It was quite exciting if stressful and frightening.
      Mom left the dream at some point. We arrived at my Grandparents' old farm and it was just me, Lloyd, and the turkey. By this time we had a plan to set the turkey free in the woods. There were new people living on the farm and farm workers scattered about.
      I held the turkey as we ran to the barn. We knew Mom's boyfriend would get here eventually. The bird was calm and easy to hold. We went through the barn, which was multiple levels and a little hard to navigate, and ran into some workers just before sliding through a tiny door toward the back. "If a man comes looking for us," I said to them, "don't tell him where we went.
      At this point I remember vividly making sure the turkey felt safe and comfortable. It was hiding its head under my chin and her feathers were soft and downy. I was concerned for her because she didn't know what was happening and would likely feel abandoned. In the end, though, she'd be happier free in the forest with a flock and a family.
      We hopped down a level and through the final exit to the middle meadow, as Grandpa used to call it, running the whole way. We went to the woods on the north side of the field--and here's where things get *really* vivid.
      There were so many wild flowers on the hillside by the forest where the bushhog couldn't go. There was a patch of lavender colored wild irises--or perhaps giant violets. I thought, "We should bring Mom a bouquet on the way back." There were white and yellow flowers on vines low to the ground and they smelled sweet and light. I looked for one of my favorite species with a similar but more powerful scent, but I found none.
      We stopped at the top of a small but very steep hill at the edge of the forest. There was barbed wire to contend with and this spot had the most room beneath the lowest line. Lloyd lifted up the wire and slid down the hill on his back. I was worried about the turkey and we tried to find a way to pass it over the fence, but it was too impractical and we were short on time. Carefully I flattened myself against the ground and protected the turkey best I could from the wire and the sudden stop at the bottom. We slid down and it was fine.
      There was one more barbed wire fence to get through if we wanted to leave the turkey near the creek where it could drink. I don't remember passing through this fence but I know it was easier and there was no hill. We left the turkey safe and sound and headed back toward the meadow.
      Going back up the hill and under the fence was harder. There was a coil of barbed wire at the top and I pricked myself several times but was mostly unscathed. Lloyd followed. We tore off back to the barn in the hopes of crossing the valley to Dad's house before Mom's boyfriend found us, but it was too late. With the barn in sight we watched his white SUV pull up by the gate.
      We got in the car. He was livid, of course. He talked of going through the woods and killing every turkey he met 'till he found his. But we drove off to--somewhere. Somewhere back in Vtown, I think.
      In front of Mom he apologized to us and said he loved us. I was furious and said, "Fuck you. I'm out." I gathered up my things that would fit in a backpack and Lloyd did the same. We decided it was Mom's decision if she wanted to stay with him but we didn't have to. We'd be hiking the whole way to Dad's farm so we packed ponchos in case it rained.
      Lloyd and I set out through the town, the meadows, and the forest, toward freedom and safety, never to return.
      I had sex with Phillip. Don't remember much of it. I was disappointed when I woke up not because it was a good dream that was over but because in the dream I went though all of the emotional preparation and effort I'm usually cause myself when I have sex, and I knew I intended to have sex with Phillip irl that day. I didn't want to have to go through it again.
      Earlier dream: Phillip was trying to make an ice cream Sunday at DQ. He wasn't doing a very good job of it.
      Remember very little. I moved into Robby's house yesterday (irl) and things have been hectic. Missed yesterday's entry entirely.
      I remember one brief weird scene. There were chickengs. I wanted to go make friends with them. But they were scared and kept running away. I kneeled down and opened my palm to a less frightened one. He slowly approached me and was Phillip hunched over and squatting down. In the dream I still considered it a chicken. and didn't know anything was weird. He poked my hand a few times, hugged me, and we both fell over and play-wrestled a little on the ground.
      I talked to one of the older chickens (an old man with glasses) about making friends with his flock. He said humans just want to teach them things. They bring books and make the chickens read. I said I didn't want to do that and I wasn't even sure chickens were capable of learning to read. One chicken said she knows she's not capable because she needs new glasses.
    11. A dog race, shrinking, and terrorists in Turkey.
      by , 05-12-2010 at 06:04 PM (Visions in the Dark)
      Dream starts off with me at some sort of Olympic event for dogs. There is a race down a long winding path that looks like a bobsleigh track. The dog I have entered looks like my friend RM's previous dog Memphis, a shetland sheepdog who passed away last year. Spectators and other dog owners have gathered in a sphirical room where the race starts and where it can be watched on a large screen t.v. There are many people there but the only one's I really pay attention too are a group of three young men who are dressed in black or dark blue suits and look like hitmen. They are determined to win and I fear they may become violent if they lose.
      The race begins but I am too worried about watching my back and keeping an eye on the dangerous looking suited men than the ranking of my dog in the race. The race ends and neither I nor the suit men win but for some reason I leave the statdium with them and we all leave our dogs behind. Outside there is a path that leads to floating boardwalk that goes over a lake to a townhouse complex on the other side. As we cross the boardwalk it starts to sink and we are forced to swim across. For some reason we have to do all of this unseen by others because we are running from something but I cannot remember the reason anymore. The most handsome of the suit men sticks close to me and is very protective. I think his name was Vince because he looked like Vincent Valentine when he was a Turk.
      When we get to the other side we have shrunk and are about the size of crows. We start sneaking around one of the townhouses when we run into my friend RM and her dog Memphis. She tells us that the coast is clear and that we can get by unseen. Past the townhouse complex is a parking lot, then a trailer park where the Vince's alcoholic father lives. We take shelter in father's trailer and Vince and his father argue about something.
      Beyond the trailer park is a huge grocery store which we have to sneak through to get to something on the otherside. We dodge through aisles and onto a table with fruit when we are spotted by some shoppers but they don't threaten us like we thought they would and rather only show curiousity about our small size. The four of us finally get through the grocery store and find ourselves in a dirty run down town.
      The dream changes and Vince's two companions disappear and he language and dress of the poor people walking around inform us that we are in a slum in the eastern European country of Tukey. The slum is overrun with gangsters and terrorists and anyone who lives there are virtual prisoners. Vince and I are normal size again and we are now lovers and he is my fiancee. Because of the dangerous conditions of the city we go are seperate ways because Vince has to find something that will let us get out of the slum and to freedom and I am told to mill about a trade center to wait for him.
      The trade center is filled with goods from all over the world and I am amused to find a section of Canadian memorabelia and soapstone carvings. There are explosions outside and the people in the trade center panic and start running around to find cover. I ask one old woman what is going on and she tells me that terrorists have been randomly attacking the slum and bombing certain streets. I go outside to try and find Vince and see that there are people walking around cautiously either trying to go about there business or find shelter.
      There is an older man who works somewhere nearby that I think can help me, but the bombings are close to where I think I can find him. I search up and down many narrow dirty streets until I find the dentist's office where the older man works, but it is closed and no one is there. I walk out of the alley and see a gang of men wearing masks, carrying weapons and riding crudely built motorbikes riding up and down the streets forcing people to do as they say and to go inside or they will kill them. I know these are the terrorists and I have to hide behind some debris in an alley to avoid being seen until they pass.
      I run into a woman who says she knows where the old man is and I follow her to a cafe halfway across the slum. We manage to get there unnoticed by thugs and find many people trying to take shelter or relax and have a coffee. The older man is there and he admits that he knows where Vince is but first we have to go back to his dentist's office to get something. On the way we are stopped by some masked men who threaten us, but the old man shows them a pass of some kind and says that I am his daughter (and he is escorting me home for the forced curfew) they begrudgingly let us on our way.
      At the dentist's office the old man is dismayed to find that it has been broken into and the place has been ransacked. His money, passport documents and stash of cigarettes has been stolen. The old man thinks awhile about what to do next before deciding that we should head to the trade center which is not that far away.
      The dream becomes fuzzy and I cannot remember a bit but somehow we meet up with Vince who had been captured and tortured by some terrorists. The old man bribes someone to take us to a port town nearby where we can sneak onto a cargo ship and onto freedom. We succeed in getting on the ship but some gangsters or terrorists find out that there are two people trying to escape from Turkey and they get there own ship to pursue us. The crew of the cargo ship get nervous about having us as passengers and dump us on a small island not far away from the port on which there is a circular fortress of some kind that has many levels underground.
      Vince suddenly looks like he appeared in Dirge of Cerberus and has acquired some guns from the cargo ship crew and he sends me into the lower floors of the building. He is able to kill some of the pursuers but is forced into the bowls of the fort when confronted with the leader of the terrorists. He gives me one of his handguns and tells me to go to the lowest floor and wait for him. I can hear gun fire and yelling but don't know what is going on until Vincent and the terrorist leader come running down, shooting at each other. The terrorist leader has transformed into a hideous beast and is more impervious to bullets. Vincent has trouble taking him down and just before the end the leader summons more warriors to fight for him.
      There is a long gun battle all over the basement of the fort but Vincent eventually triumphs with my help but the dream ends before we leave the island or anything.
