    False Awakening

    1. False Awakenings and back in time

      by , 10-10-2012 at 07:30 AM
I dreamt last night, that I and my brother somehow got trapped, and shortly after, I fell asleep and woke up in my old house, younger than I am now. I then explored the neighboorhood, and was lucid about it. It was very entertaining and magical.
Then I woke up in my current house, and I thought that I woke up for real. Wrong. Soon after I teleported myself (by thinking about it) back in time to my old house again, and this time I played basketball with some random bguys, then I explored my town, and went into different shops and met different people. Very interesting dream indeed.
It would ahve continued with me thinking that I woke up, if it hadn't been for my alarm clock. Unlucky me, for I would have loved for this dream to have continued ( I could probably have resummoned it, but I had to get up )
    2. Technicolor Thomas Jefferson

      by , 10-09-2012 at 07:45 PM
This was easily my wildest, trippiest lucid dream of all time. A big first from this one was meeting my doppelganger. Confusion, chaos and questions of identity reigned in this LD and what little control I had amounted to very little in the end. Very different from my usual LD fare but fun nonetheless.

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

      Lucid #21: Technicolor Thomas Jefferson

It's nighttime and I'm standing in the shadow of a deserted overpass, talking on a cellphone. I'm some sort of drug dealer or smuggler, talking to one of my scumbag smuggling associates about when and where our next deal will go down. The conversation ends, and I start walking back across a parking lot to my car, a silver Mercedes Benz.

As I'm walking, I get that familiar feeling of recognition and think, "This isn't me. I'm not a criminal. Am I just dreaming this?"
I become lucid and look for the nearest piece of usable scenery. Before I can get anywhere, though, darkness begins pressing down on me and I feel the dream fading. I look at my hands but they're vague and insubstantial, with wispy ribbons of skin hanging off of them.

My vision goes completely black but I keep repeating, "I'm still dreaming" and refuse to wake up. Jumbles of random letters fall slowly from the top to the bottom of my field of vision. I reach for the letters, trying to feel them, turn them into some kind of new dream scene. Even though I can't see my hands, I finally manage to grab a letter and squeeze it. It feels like a squishy piece of felt. The letter suddenly squirts out of my hands and floats away. I flail for a new letter.

Now I'm back in bed and my hands are thrashing in front of me. Out loud, I'm saying "I'm still dreaming", although I no longer believe it. Wife rolls over and says, "What are you doing?" I look over at the alarm clock and see that the numbers are flashing at random. Still dreaming, indeed. "It's okay," I tell her. "Go back to sleep." I get out of bed and walk toward the bathroom, planning to go for the "pumpkinhead" Task of the Month using the bathroom mirror.

Before I make it to the bathroom, the image of a huge, hissing black cat is stamped across my vision. Behind this cat I still see my first-person perspective but much of it is now obscured. Then another stamped image over that, this time of a woodworking bench covered with tools. Then an old woman pushing a cart. Then another, and another, and another each new image papering over the last.

Finally, things settle onto an image of Thomas Jefferson reading in a comfortable-looking chair. He's super-saturated with color, just like the boldest Technicolor films. Think Wizard of Oz but with the saturation even more intense. I remind myself, "I'm dreaming" and a banner reading "I'M DREAMING!!!" appears over Thomas Jefferson's head. He glances up from his book, sees the banner, then stares straight at me in surprise.

Suddenly, I'm in the passenger seat of a car, heading west on a road near my office. It feels strange, so I try to remember how I got there. I remember Technicolor Thomas Jefferson and I'm immediately lucid again. I look over at the driver of the car and I realize that the driver is me. Only it's not really me but a Dream Character version of myself. I can hear my double's thoughts but I can't influence him and I see that I'm a disembodied observer with no dream body of my own.

I hear my double think, "I've got to go back to where it started. Back to where I became lucid. I have to make it happen again." My double pulls into a parking garage and we're soon wandering the halls of an office building. My double visits each office that he finds, and in every one we see friends and old coworkers. Finally, my doppelganger steps into an office shared by two female twins (IWL friends of mine) and a woman who calls herself Susan.

The twins greet my double and welcome him to their office but Susan isn't buying it. She shakes her head and says, "That isn't your friend. I don't know what that is, but your friend is there." Susan points, not at my double but at me, the spot from which I am observing with no dream body. The twins turn to look, not comprehending and
      I wake up.

      IT HAPPENED!!!

After reading quite a bit of past experiences on DV and remembering some of the techniques used by fellow dreamers, I decided that I was tired of letting things be.

I tried the Repeating word technique* (I know there's another name but adding the word technique at the end of what you’re doing makes it sound cool

So any way, I'm getting ready for bed telling myself "I'm gonna wake up in my dream, I'm gonna wake up in my dream." I continue to say this while I'm lying down with my eyes closed and continue to say it until I stop I guess.

Next thing I remember is waking up and having to go to the bathroom and I do, except right in the middle of me going number one, like right in the middle of it, I wake up! Two things hit me 1) WTF!!! 2) I gotta take a leak.

While I'm taking a leak I'm thinking to myself. "I'm pretty sure I was dreaming the first time I did this." I have confirmed that this technique works. Before I even heard the term lucid dream I was using this technique to wake up at certain times in the morning. Having to be at work around 7am meant I had to wake up at 6am. So right before I went to sleep I would repeat the phrase, "I'm going to wake up at 6am." Sure enough without a hitch I wake up SECONDS before my alarm goes off.

Repeating what you want to dream about right before your sleep is a damn good beginner technique. LucidLegend Approved! ;D
    4. D.I.A. #4 -Slew of dreams, Lucid Dream #16

by , 10-05-2012 at 08:27 PM (Lucid Time!)
I can't really put all the pieces together. I tried to WILD last night. A whole slew of lucid dreaming things happened including a lucid that I barely remember, a false awakening, and two additional non lucid dreams. Let me start with the least interesting and work my way up.

      Suicide

The first dream entailed me and my mother. We decided that we were going to "Go die" so we had dug two holes in the ground and acquired some coffins.
Then my mother said that she was going to carve a death note into an Ipad. She asked me if she could use my Ipad instead of hers. Then she got an exacto knife and started carving a message into the screen about why we had decided to die/commit suicide.
We went outside, and got into our coffins. I'm not entirely sure why, but I decided to get back out and have second thoughts about committing suicide.
I was just standing in the drive in front of our house, and started talking to myself about the decision to commit suicide. The my mother got out of her coffin and decided that she didn't want to do it either. Then I told her that I needed to get a new Ipad since she scratched a death note into the screen.

      Deathmatch

Another video game dream. Halo reach this time. It has been strange to me that video game dreams have stepped up their game and gotten alot more interesting and vivid recently. (Also strange because I haven't played Halo reach in almost a year now.)
I was literally a spartan. Not like controlling it or anything, like you normally would in a game, but my body was actually a spartan. But the game was still playing out normally. We were on this strange map that was sort of like a junkyard, with a dingy orange lighting to it.
The game started and I started looking for a way to help a the team. I saw a scorpion tank that nobody seemed to be using. I got in and looked back the direction that I had spawned. A wraith pulled between me and the direction that I had spawned.
I fired and killed it. Then a bunch of enemy players started swarming around my tank with energy swords. They were jumping around, trying to avoid getting shot. I realized that they were going to board my tank, so I bailed out.
When I got out, I took out my own energy sword and got into the fight. (The use of swords (though energy swords) still coincides with swords being a dream sign for me.) Unlike real halo, it took two hits to kill someone with the sword, one to break their shields, and one to finish the job. I can also remember the electric effect of the sheild being very vivid and realistic.
When fighting the first enemy, I broke his shields and killed him with two swift slashes. The second guy hit me from behind, breaking my shields. Our blades crossed and we pushed against one another. Then I killed him.
The final enemy, who was like the leader got in. I hit him and broke his shield, but my sword ran out of charge after the first hit. I tried to melee him again, with the sword hilt. He stabbed me in the chest, and the dream painlessly faded away.

Here are some images for the non-halo players to get an idea of what this looks like.

      Scorpion tank

      Energy sword

      Terraskating

I seriously wonder about classifying this as a minor event. I will.

I was running down this highway, though a city very fast. I was lucid, but my recall was worse than my lucidity, so I couldn't remember how I got lucid. Though I was lucid. I can remember thinking about how cool this was, my sixth lucid dream.
I started to feel like my back was cold and wet.
I false-awoke into my room and the window was open and all of this rain and wind was coming and and there was a violent thunderstorm happening outside. Annoyed, I closed the window and went back to "sleep"

I'm not sure what to make of all these dreams. There was a lot of waking up involved last night, and I probably don't have them in the right order. I was on an extremely consistent sleep schedule the last few nights, going to bed just around 9:15. But last night, I didn't make it to bed until 10:00.

    5. 30/09/2012 - Lucid dream and multiple consecutive false awakenings

      by , 10-02-2012 at 02:08 AM
No recall from the 28th or 29th (was drunk both nights).

On the Sunday, had taken a couple of vallium tablets to soothe the hangover.

Fell asleep on the couch from what seemed about 8:30pm, woke a few times, notably at midnight when I seemed to instantly slip into a Lucid Dream, I was having dinner with a guy I know and chatting away, fully aware I was dreaming. The restaurant was big and old fashioned, set up like a wedding but in a massive concert hall or piano bar (a very big piano bar). The waitress came over, they were all wearing lycra cleavage showing outfits and knowing I was lucid I attempted to pull the waitresses outfit to see what happened. She reacted angrily and slapped my hand away. This was a shock as generally when lucid I can do what I want. At some point not long after I woke up. Or so I thought.

I had a false awakening, I realised this when things in the apartment were out of place so I visualised and moved to my mums back garden where I was hovering above. Until I woke again.

Nope, another false awakening, confirmed when I went through to the bedroom to see 2 people I didn't know sitting on my bed, and the room didn't look anything like it does normally. There were also a set of legs protruding from the bottom of the bed, whether or not the being was conscious I don't know. There was a strong sexual energy from the pair on the bed that made me feel uncomfortable and I woke up.

AGAIN into another false awakening I could tell by the living room being not as it is in real life, at this point I am starting to feel extremely disconcerted and so force myself to wake from the dream, this time into waking consciousness.

I get up, do reality checks, use the bathroom and go to bed feeling extremely anxious and unsettled, into a sleep of dreams but not much recall and no lucidity. The next morning I felt a lot better and disappointed at the opportunities whilst lucid I had let slip by due to my own fears.

      by , 10-01-2012 at 04:53 PM (Glieuaeiel's DJ)
[I've decided to start including some timestamps: when I got in bed, when I got up, and when I recorded each dream.]

In bed from 11:18 to 9:05

      Beware Lava 3:29

The eldest competitor first learned to channel a long time ago. An image of burning matchsticks appears. Then the matchsticks burn almost all the way to the point where the person holding the matchstick would get hurt, and the fire gets blown out. That's what happened to his ability. But he's still part of this competition. He's competing against two of his own students, both female. They start in separate, nearby rooms in a Minecraft world, underground. I'm playing as the teacher. He walks around the halls and sees that the doorways of the rooms of his students are blocked by collapsed ice. He's competing with them, yes, but he still feels like he should be nice to them. Back in his original room, he finds a back passageway that he can open using his ability to conjure fire. It leads into the room of one of the students. Then he shoots more fire, but he quickly realizes that it's getting out of control. The student in the room doesn't yet even know he's there, so he'd better warn her.

"Run!" he shouts. Without waiting to check that she does, he drops the wide bucket of water that he was holding. That water is an important resource, and he can't allow it to warm up. Heat is dangerous, here. I start trying to conjure some ice by first pressing 1 to select fire, then Enter to conjure a ball of fire in my hand, then 2 to switch to ice, then blowing on the ball of fire to freeze it, then throwing the ball of ice into a pile on the floor. All of these different buttons are tripping me up, and it's not going very quickly. Suddenly he notices that he forgot to freeze one fireball before throwing it on the floor. It's probably warming up all of the ice balls, making them completely useless. The air in the room feels very warm, and when he picks up the bucket of water, it's warm, too. The floor is especially warm, which probably means that there's lava rising below, melting the ice out from under his feet. It's time to get out of here. There's not even enough time to gather up what few supplies he has. He just runs--back into his original room and over to the far corner, then out with the pickaxe and start digging furiously. To where, he doesn't know. He has no supplies, so he's basically starting over.

An announcer starts speaking over the top of the video, something along the lines of, "Will he survive, alone, without resources, in the dangerous world into which he heads? Find out next time on 'Impossible Minecraft Campaigns!'" Meanwhile, the man is thinking that this was only the first of three episodes, and he's worse off than he was at the beginning--so it's unlikely he'll even survive the next one.

[This dream seems to be partially inspired by the dream incubation (?) I did before going to bed. I imagined myself in a forest, chopping down a tree, when I realize I'm dreaming and then start throwing fireballs everywhere, starting a forest fire. The heat was an important part of the scene, although it was supposed to be awesome, not terrifying, like it was in this dream. There was even a time where I imagined holding a fireball and then blowing on it to turn it into a ball of ice. So it seems like the dream incubation did something, although it was very indirect, and it didn't trigger lucidity.]

      Group Hug 6:38

[I don't remember the main plot of this dream, just a side plot that I probably remembered due to its uncomfortable nature. My middle sister has always been trouble.]
      Spoiler for Group Hug:
      Candied Brazil Nuts 9:03

Dad and I park in the driveway and go into the house. A serial killer has been living in here, so we expect there will be a lot of bodies. And yes, there are. A lot of movie stars. There's a living movie star with us now, a young (black) one, and it's tragic to watch his face as he sees all of the bodies. He knew these people. It occurs to me that I'm paying attention to the fact that he's black, when really it shouldn't matter. So I stop thinking about it.

After tidying up a bit, Dad and I get back in the car to head to the picnic. Taylor Swift is on the radio: "We are never ever ever getting back together." Except it's not actually her song--it's a rap song that uses the same chorus. Man, that's what frustrates me about rap. They borrow melodies from classical music and from good pop songs and they just reuse them without adding anything.

We get to the picnic and find Mom. She came earlier than us. She tells us that she meant to clean up the killer's house herself, but she had other things to do first. She didn't mean to leave us with the job. I'm not cross with her about it, but she seems like she's in a bad mood. Then Dad gets mad at me because I forgot to bring the hot dogs. I meant to bring the hot dogs, and I even planned out exactly which hot dogs to bring, but I forgot. One of my sisters tries to defend me by explaining this, but Dad says it doesn't change the fact that I forgot. I suppose he's right. My alarm wakes me up.

    7. My First Lucid Dream!!!

by , 10-01-2012 at 10:10 AM (The Redeeming Dreamer)
I can't remember most of it. I actually had like five LD's in one night! It was really awesome, too!

So I think for my first one I had a false awakening, then I somehow realized I was dreaming! I also remember my mom, too. That one ended pretty quickly.

Then I think the second one I had another false awakening, then I again somehow realized I was dreaming. I saw a girl from school named Ma. She was a bit acne ridden and had a boyfriend has dyed black hair and she's Caucasian. So I went up to her, and the next thing I know, I'm having sex with her! It didn't really work out very well, and ended before I could orgasm.

I think it was around the third one where I orgasmed (which I also did in real life, apparently) by having sex with some girl created by my subconscious. I can't really remember what happened before I saw her, though. Probably another false awakening. It was in the hallway of my house on the carpet. She was blonde, Caucasian, and had blemishes a bit of acne on the left side of her face.
I thought she looked pretty cute. She also looked a bit like a girl who was a senior last year named Li. She had two sisters, I think.

The fourth one was ANOTHER false awakening. Only this time, I didn't see anyone. I just went back in my ropom and started writing stuff down on a notebook. I think it was about this girl I like at school named Jy. I was texting her during this, too.

I can't remember the fifth and last one, well. All I remember was ANOTHER FALSE AWAKENING!!! (What is up with me and these false awakenings!)

Also, to induce this LD, I used the WBTB and MILD techniques because I woke up at like 2:50 in the morning, then figured I had to go pee so I went to piss at 3:30, then went back to bed, figuring "why not try to have an LD while I'm at it," so I did MILD as I was going to sleep.

I can't remember a lot of this LD, though. I can only remember certain parts. I guess I need to practice more dream recall as I remember so little I can barely remember it happened. It also didn't feel as if very vivid, either. I didn't feel like I was truly awake for the LD.

Also worth noting, every time I turned lucid in one of the dreams, I felt this shaking feeling come over me as I turned lucid. It felt pretty weird.

    8. Two in a row

      by , 09-30-2012 at 06:21 PM
I'm sitting on my grandparents couch. My uncle is next to me along with the girl I'm dating a another whom in the dream i know. I decide to walk down the hill from there house and find my friend and his brother digging at the turn to the main road. I asked what they were doing and they responded "digging" plain and simple. I walk closer and notice that everywhere they dig there is a bulge of water coming out of the holes. It does not leave the holes but it is very deep and flowing quite rapidly. I fell in one and managed to grab the side of the hole and pull myself out. The water felt weird, very aerated. I walk back up to the house and sit on the table under the tree in the front yard. The girl that i knew in the dream, (note: she was extremely beautiful. Dark brown hair, chestnut eyes, olive skin, and an absolutely perfect body), storms out of the house crying. I try to ask what is wrong and she yells at me saying, "you dont even know how bad your fucking up with me." I say, "im sorry but Krystal was here first and I cant drop her like that." She then responds, "What the hell are you talking about? You and Krystal havnt been together for years and you and you and i have been together for almost 2!" then she walked away and i woke up. looked at the clock and i had only been asleep for an hour.
    9. Weird False Awakening

      by , 09-29-2012 at 06:48 PM
      Sleep - 11:30pm
      Awake - 6:00am

I was in my car with some friends. I think it was Matt.B, Will.N, Tom.R and Ryan.B, although I can't be sure. It was cloudy but it wasn't raining. I think I had just been driving. We were parked randomly in the middle of the motorway, and my friends were jumping out of the car. They ran to the side of the road and escaped through some bushes. There was a motorway bridge about 20 yards in front of me up high. I was really annoyed and upset that my friends had ditched me and my car. I don't even know why we stopped, or why I was driving in the first place considering I haven't passed my test yet and have never driven on a motorway! The motorway was dead, and I didn't seem to be worried about other cars coming along and hitting the car. It was about 3pm.

I think I jumped out of the car and walked the same way as my friends did, before randomly appearing at some sort of family gathering that my Dad was at. I knew I had to explain myself to my Dad, but I didn't know what to say. I told him very clumsily, beating around the bush, and he got extremely angry and emotional. However, I remember being confused that he was so upset. This makes me think that maybe it was Matt's car, not mine. I'm not sure, it was all a bit hazey. He went mental at me, screaming at me in front of various other people that were on the drive way of this house. I flipped out, out of sadness and anger and all sorts of mixed emotions, and hit these thick china plates that my dad was for some reason holding, up so that they flew in the air and smashed on the ground quickly. I cried harder than I have ever cried before. It felt like the most emotionally raw moment of my life.

Suddenly, it was a website, possibly facebook. The dream turned out to be a short-film that my friend Charlotte.C had made for a series of films with her friends acting for media!! This was very odd as I thought the film was a dream, and this was reality - kind of like a false awakening! The website had a list of about 10 short films that she had made, each with a cast list of about 5, all of which I knew. I starred in a few of them, and most cast members were recurring. I thought the film was incredibly put together and captured the emotion perfectly.
    10. Meh 3rd LD

      by , 09-29-2012 at 01:40 PM
So, I've finally had another lucid dream again, after my first two that were probably months ago... but this one was really different.

It started off, that everything was black, and I couldn't see anything, but after a while I realized I could hear this sound like wind, or rushing waves, and I thought "oh hey I'm dreaming" and I got scared. (I remember seeing people post threads about that when i first started, but i cant remember so i'll have to go check em out again -- or post one myself ^ ^) so, anyway, I was feaking out basically because it was dark (if you've read my thread about my 'false lucid' so to say, you would know that i'm scared of dark in my dreams...) so i decided to try something, I told myself that when I turn around, it will be sunny, but I guess i didnt believe it enough, so it was still dark. then i decided to let my thoughts wander for just a second, and i could see my moms face. of course, i decided to stick with that, and started to focus on her. Surprisingly the results were pretty accurate, but shortly after, I was in my bed, though even as I was there, I was almost positive it was a false awakening, but I didn't want to continue, because in my room, I always think of the worst things, so i figured Id end up creating a nightmare and scaring myself to death, so i closed my eyes and went to sleep in the dream, and so, I woke up.

Though it was not really interesting at all, I'm excited about having this LD since my other two were not controllable at all, and i was hardly aware in. I hope that I will continue to have more LDs in the future, hopefully more interesting, longer, and more controllable, but I'm actually surprised about this one because I actually haven't really been trying for a LD lately...

      Non-dream Dream

      Dream 1:

I am at my English professor's house getting my paper graded. We are sitting close together on her couch.

This was a very long and involved dream. Unfortunately this is all I remembered.

      Dream 2:

I am at work arguing with GM over someone's project. This person is trying to use a drug with proven toxicity in another program. I am arguing that we should give it a chance because the tox might be due to the drug going somewhere completely different from where it will go in the new program. I say that even if there is only a 1% chance of it working, those are better odds than our current approach to drug discovery. This person (a woman I think) presents her ideas to a large audience and GM is talking mad shit on her throughout the entire talk.

My co-worker YA is technically not in my department although she works directly with me.

I hear a strange buzzing noise and I wake up to find my wife's phone is vibrating.

      Dream 3:

I am writing my previous dream in my dream journal. (As always with a false awakening) I am writing the dream in incredible detail.

      Wake up for real.

      Dream 4:

I come home early from work and find two young boys playing in my pool. I jump in and play some basketball with them. They ask me to put in a diving board. I ask them how much that would cost and they didn't know. I say that if it is less than $1000 I will do it. Next I am playing 4 square with them and my wife with tomatoes. My wife asks me to have sex with her but I said not with the little kids around.

      Dream 5:

I am in a very serious flag football and basketball league. The basketball portion is 2 on 2. I get picked to represent my school even though I am not on the normal school basketball team.
    12. A Couple DILDs

      by , 09-28-2012 at 08:34 PM (Ophelia's Book O' Fun II)
These happened really late in the morning, like reaaaally late. I woke up several times, and the last time, the clock said 10:43am. I thought, ehh, I'll get up in a bit, no sense in trying to LD now because I never do this late. Then I conked out again anyway.

I remember dreaming about my dogs chasing and torturing frogs in the back yard like they do irl. Gucci brought one inside and was trying to half play and half chew on the poor thing (irl, I occasionally happen upon a little frog jerky on the living room floor). So I shoo the dog away so I can get the little corpse and throw it outside. When I pick it up, he's still alive! He appears unwounded, just in shock and perhaps playing dead. I hold him very gently, and go to put him in the koi pond in our back yard. He does a couple little frog licks on my hand, which felt like grateful kisses. I set him in the koi pond, which has suddenly turned into an ocean shore line (YAY oceanfront property, finally). I watch as he floats for a moment, then does the breast stroke and swims off. I suddenly become lucid, because HEY, I don't have an ocean in the back yard! So I start skipping along the shore, and take to flight. It was already night when the dream started, with the only light coming from our backyard floodlights. But now that I'm lucid, it goes completely dark. I REALLY need to learn how to summon light. I tried all kind of things. I even closed my eyes and spun, trying to change the scene. Usually that would wake me up, but it didn't this time, which is good. But it was still dark. I just kinda stood there, in a black oblivion for a few moments, and woke up due to frustration.

But I didn't wake up, it was a false awakening! I thought I woke up, and Danny was getting up to get ready for work, and I could hear the kids getting ready for school. But then I remembered I already went through this like 4 hours ago, I should be alone right now! So I just got up out of bed and went down the hall, ignoring the pretend family members. The hall opened into an entirely new scene. It looked like a romper room: lots of kids and a few gym teachers, multicolored foam blocks, toys and books. I suddenly remembered that I wanted to try the basic TOTM, to shrink down. I looked at one of the teachers, and asked her if she knew how to cast spells, because I want to shrink down to the size of a bug. She said "I sure do!" Then she pointed me to 4 different children, each holding a magic wand. She told me to choose which one I wanted to cast the spell on me. So I chose the boy in blue. Everyone stood around me in a circle, and the boy pointed the wand at me and said an incantation. I felt like there was an invisible power, forcing me downward. At first I thought I was shrinking, because I went from being at eye level with everyone, then knee level, then finally ankle level. But they looked the same size, so I couldn't have shrunk. I looked at everyone, then myself, and I realized all that happened was I was just sitting on the floor. Lame job there subconscious. I thought I might just grab a teacher and have some consolation sex, but my dream body that was on the floor phased into my waking body in my bed. Oh well, at least I remembered and attempted it one last time before the end of the month.

Dreamt that I lived in a house that had a haunted doorway and hall. Monsters and ghosts would come through and try to Gg et in. I had all the tool necessary to banish them and would get paid a lot of money when. Did. I had a lot of fun doing this and had several different encounters with different types of monsters. Sometimes kara would help me but mostly when she worked I worked. Was super fun and a little scary. Only one I wasn't able to defeat was a devil type woman who could teleport and split selves and was just about neA r impossible. I went through a door to the devil himself and she was his maiden. We fought for hours but she was stronger. There was a scene where she was gonna finish me but we found out we had shared a sister who was dead. We both cried and she recombined and vanished. I went to take a break in the bedroom and saw a shadow ghost. I sucked it into me and imagined t exploding.

I wake up and continue to dream. This time I live at mothers and I love that I see these ghosts. I battle with them constantly. My mom leaves the house and there is a massive battle where I imagine blasting them to picese. Most of the time I don't actually see them but I feel them. Sometimes I do see them and destroy them. Mother comes home and I leave to a sports type school. This is a combination of my old house in the first dream with added sports stadiums. There's a girl there that's my best friend and open lover. We exchange loving glances. I secretly fight off these ghosts and play some sports. When I finish I go to the girls side where they play professionally. They are doing hula competition. I see a beautiful girl doing hula and I flirt with her. She smiles and competes. When she's done I go over and sit with her. She resists letting me touch her at first but then she starts to like me. We cuddle while I fondle her breasts.

I leave and go home. Mother and Adam are about to leave. I get excited and prepare to battle. I start collecting my energy and shooting it throughout the house. A strong energy appears as if I woke it up and overpowers me. I am a little scared and walk outside the house. The door slams on me and I get angry. I go inside and shoot pretend energy and try to scare the monster. I fail and leave. The scene flashes to me at a psychiatrist telling him about my powers. We are at a cozy house where my mom and two of her friends are staying. Another guy who had similar problems came to talk. He overcame them but was having physical problems. He said the psychiatrist was charging too much and couldn't pay him. He left and we talked. He said I had to stop that it was getting worse. I told him that I did not wanted to stop. It was fun for me to battle these ghosts and that they really were ghosts all around. He made me remember the time before this happened. I realized that this is all in my head send that I have to make it stop. My mom and her 3 friends came over and I tried to not see ghosts. I started to hallucinate in saw her face is as a zombie. I kept trying to tell myself it's not real and slowly her face to change back.

      Grappling Hook

I'm playing a James Bond video game on multiplayer. On my end it's two-person splitscreen, but there are four players in the game altogether. The person on the lower screen suddenly stops, and I freeze as well because I was screen-looking. But we're nowhere near each other, so I start moving again, hoping that he didn't notice. He's currently in a skirmish with the other two players.

I enter a warehouse. There's a metal cabinet in the back corner that looks worth investigating. I walk up to it, and eureka! Among other useful items, there are a couple of bazookas. I take them, then screen-look again. Accidentally, I swear! But this time the lower screen corresponds to one of the other two players, and both of them are running up behind me. I try to turn around and get them with the bazooka, but my character is moving really slowly. "What am I, encumbered, or something?!" I say in frustration. I've never heard of encumbrance in James Bond games. But that must be what it is--there was too much big stuff in that cabinet. I get off one rocket, and then the others start firing rockets as well. Damn. I get to the bottom of the metal ramp leading to the cabinet; the other two people are standing there, too. The range is really too close to be using rocket launchers, but I shoot again, anyway. And I die. Grr.

I respawn on a lower level of the map, near a raised highway. I decide to try out my grappling hook. There's a target for it (a small beige circle with a sort of raised knob in the middle) on each of the lampposts near the highway. Using the grapple here is a shortcut from the lower level to the upper level, so I see why it would be useful. I shoot the hook at the target and the wire pulls me up, but that just leaves me hanging a few yards off to the side of the highway, swinging slightly back and forth. I try to pump my legs to get a large enough swing that I can jump onto the highway, but I can't get it large enough to be comfortable with the leap. I let myself back down. I try again, this time standing farther back from the light. I'm not going to give myself any time to swing back and forth and lose momentum--the moment I get high enough, I'm going to release the hook. Since the wire will be pulling me forward, I should have enough sideways momentum to reach the highway. It works!

Now I just need to figure out how to go _down_ using the hook. I go out on the balcony of the third floor of a building. It's dark out. There's a security guard in the parking lot below, locking up for the night. The grapple hook target is right on the railing for the balcony, so I attach the hook. I expect some kind of automatic animation showing me sliding down the line, but nothing happens. Well, I guess it's more realistic this way. Manually, I toss down the line. Some how the line attaches to something at a diagonal slope, so when I send my gear down, it slides out into the night like it's on a zipline. The security guard sees the gear going past and starts beating it up with a baseball bat. Shit, that gear's expensive! Hurriedly, I pull the gear and the zipline back up to the balcony. It only takes a couple of tugs. The guard peers in my direction, then suddenly points at me and starts shouting--and running towards my building. I'm not sure how he plans to get up here, until suddenly he shoots his own grappling hook at a target on the edge of the sloping terra-cotta roof that leads straight to my balcony. Uh oh. My only chance is to run past him while he's busy getting up here. I jump over the railing and onto the roof. It's hard to keep my footing as I run to the roof's edge, and I end up slipping over the side and landing on the ground with a painful thud. Okay, realistically, there's no way for me to escape from this. So I wake up.

      Ziplines and Triangles (LUCID)

I'm hiding in the woods from the delegation of thirteen Aes Sedai who have come to take me away. Crouching beneath the bushes I listen to them walk nearer, I hope they will not find my hiding place. Wait, no, there are fifteen, not thirteen. That doesn't make sense; thirteen is the magic number. Oh, right--just five Aes Sedai, with ten wood nymphs to guide them through the trees. I look up from the book for a moment, thinking rather lecherously that at least I'll be able to imagine that the wood nymphs are topless green women, like in Shaiya.

My hiding place has become my bedroom on the ground floor of my family's house. I hear a knock on the door, and I know it's because the wizards have found me. They mean to take me away with them to train my magical powers in a distant school, but I don't want to go. They'll be polite about it, at least at first, so I open the door to find my youngest sister with one of her friends. They hand me a letter, which I'm sure comes from the people waiting outside. I take it, but then I flip off the girls (they don't react) and shut the door.

Later, I decide to go outside and look at the cars in which these people arrived. There's no one in sight as I walk down the driveway, but there are six or seven unfamiliar vehicles parked along the sides and along the road. Some look like they came from the early 20th century, and they're painted rather garishly with the names of the institutions to which they belong. I'm not sure how many of them belong to the wizards, and how many to other groups that happen to be in the same area.

When I return to the top of the driveway, I decide to drive in the Pathfinder. It's parked in such a way that it faces down the driveway, so I just hop in and drive it with my bare feet. I don't even have my driver license with me, which kind of bothers me, but this is rather fun. As I go down the driveway, I realize that it will be hard to turn around, so I brake and try to turn the car so that it goes between two of the big pines along our driveway. I slide sideways for a bit, but eventually I make it through and onto the lawn. I realize that I've never gone off-roading in the Pathfinder before, even though it's an SUV with a very off-road-y kind of name. It's fun, bumping along in the grass, but I have a bit of trouble getting the car back onto the driveway where it started. So I get out and walk the car, instead.

As I'm about to go back into the house, I see my mom in the garage. We talk about bikes for a moment. It looks like she's about to take something to the bottom of the driveway. It looks heavy. I ask if she wants help, but she declines. It must be about five in the morning; I wonder if she got any sleep at all. She works too hard. But without asking her a second time, I just go back into the house.

When I reach my bedroom on the top floor, suddenly I wonder if this was all a dream. I do a nose RC. It works! My bedroom is very dark. I decide to try verbal commands. "LIGHT!" I shout. "MORE LIGHT!" The lighting changes a bit, but it's not really any better. There are probably people sleeping nearby, but since it's a dream, that doesn't matter. "WAKE UP, EVERYBODY! THIS IS A LUCID DREAM!" My vision's gone wonky, like there's another image overlaying my bedroom. It looks like a curvy triangle, and I suspect it's the shape my covers are making in front of my face. Not good. Desperately, I try the light switch. Of course, it does nothing. I decide to abandon the bedroom and try my luck outside. I dash down the hall and into my parents' bedroom. As I run to their balcony, I shout some bullshit statistic, like, "Did you know that 80% of socks are hung on the sixth and seventh clotheslines?" Then I grab one of the socks that's hanging over a thick cable slanting down from the outside of the house, and I slide down the cable like it's a zipline, knocking the other pairs of socks willy-nilly to the ground.

I land in a large city plaza full of trees. Miraculously, the curvy triangle has vanished. It's a beautiful day, and there are a few people walking around. I decide to try speed-running down the sidewalk. I turn to my right, and I manage to get some speed, going perhaps twice as fast as I'd be able to sprint while awake. As I approach a heavyset guy my age going the other direction, I notice that he's looking straight at me. I slow down for a closer look. He's smiling, and he's got one hand held out like he's pointing a pistol at me. Well, that's weird, but maybe that's just how DCs say "hi" to people. I laugh and smile back, jokingly asking what he would have done if it turned out he actually shot me by accident. Then I realize that it wasn't a very funny joke. Oops. I elect just to walk away from that one.

The sidewalk ends at a highway where there are a lot of people standing around. Another guy my age tries to get me to play catch with a remote-control helicopter. Agreeably, I climb up onto a horizontal metal pole and get set to grab it. But at the last minute I chicken out. Those blades look dangerous. A few moments later, I [falsely] wake up.

I keep my eyes tightly shut. I might as well try to chain into another LD. I lie still, trying to picture the scene I just left. Then I wonder whether my theory was correct, the one about the blankets making that curvy triangle, and I decide it's worth it to open my eyes and check. Yep, there's that triangle. But wait, before I draw any conclusions, I should make sure I'm actually awake. I sit up and do a nose RC. Oh.

I decide to try using the makeshift zipline again, so I run through my parents' room and slide down. It's not as spontaneous, though, and everything outside seems to be darker and more indistinct. Moments later, I [falsely] wake up again. I lie underneath the covers with my eyes open, not sure what to do. Suddenly I notice the window. It's raining, and it looks like there's a sinister figure standing just outside, staring at me. I sit up in terror. Turns out it was just a tree and a strange trick of the light. I do an RC to find out that I'm STILL dreaming. I get out of bed and decide to try snapping flames again. Just one snap, and it doesn't work. I start trying to picture candle flames in my head, but suddenly I get very frustrated with the whole situation and I deliberately wake myself up.

[I forgot to check whether my covers in waking life were actually making a curvy triangle. I suspect they were not. Also, during the original LD in my bedroom, I said something clever involving the phrase "What the frack." Soon after, I tried to review the moment in my head so that I'd remember it when I woke up. But apparently it didn't work.]

      Spoiler for Alex Day's Penis:
      Study Abroad

I'm visiting an old high school acquaintance while she's studying abroad in a Spanish-speaking country. Feeling brave, I decide to try talking to her in Spanish. She responds in kind, but she talks so fast that I can't really understand her. I do understand that she asks me how much Spanish I've done while in college. Slowly, I manage to formulate a response, telling her that I've studied a bit on my own but she's clearly better than I am, now.

      Shootout

[This isn't really a legitimate dream, because it happened this morning when I was half awake and feeling too comfortable to get out of bed. But I definitely wasn't fully awake, and I think it's interesting, anyway.]

Not wanting to get out of bed, I'm entertaining myself by imagining various soccer plays that involve me scoring a goal. The first one is too slow, because I shot with the side of my foot. Ruefully, I remind myself that in order to get any speed, you have to have your knee over the ball and kick with the laces. Then I have more success. I bet the coach is glad about putting me in as forward. Our offense was hurting, before. I'm still frustrated with some of my fellow forwards. Then, one time at the moment when I take the shot, my actual, waking-life right leg jerks as though it's doing the kicking. Surprised, I wake up fully.

So I spent the better part of yesterday on this site, hoping that it would cause me to have another lucid dream and Poof! it worked.

I was in the middle of a pretty fun dream watching Goku fight Boromir and all of a sudden I awake in my bed. I get up and start walking to the closet and notice that my teeth are loose, and I grab one and it just falls out. Another one falls out a second later and I automatically think This is a common thing that happens to people in dreams! I must be dreaming! I look at my hands and lo and behold, they are all messed up. I start walking to the other side of the room and think about stabilizing myself more to the dream, but then think better of it for some reason and just walk over to my door, as I open it I wake up.

I was pretty frustrated, I have had four lucid dreams that I just thought that it seemed like a stupid idea to stabilize myself while I was in them. Pretty lame dream, but it was still lucid, and I really love false awakenings since I almost always become lucid after them.
