    1. A Basic TOTM and an Advanced One

      by , 03-11-2013 at 08:31 PM (Ophelia's Book O' Fun II)
I really prepared myself for these 2 tasks, because I knew I could get them both in one dream. So I wrote myself a little note and left it in the kitchen under the bottle of olive oil. And since I knew that 99% of my WILDs start out in my bedroom, I simply had to get up, go to the kitchen, find the note, then start breaking stuff. I made myself remember this every night and at every WBTB. That note has been sitting there for a few days now, but I finally had success!

I had my usual WBTB. And this was difficult: I had cycles of WILD vibrations on and off for hours, but I was experiencing what can be best described as SP (yeah, I'm looking at you, you know who you are). The good news is that it was easy to break out of, but breaking out of it woke me up each time.

So I decided to try to help myself out: when ever I felt the vibrations, I'd try to get up, or open my eyes, or roll out of bed, but there were too many pillows or blankets or I was too far from the edge of the bed to make it easy. So each time I woke up out of the SP, I'd lose a pillow off my head, then remove all the blankets, then inch closer to the edge of the bed, loose another pillow. Finally, I was pillowless, blanketless, and literally had my legs half hanging off the bed, hoping I could just roll or slide out of bed onto the floor on the next wave of vibrations.

This psychoticness finally paid off, and I was able to stand up out of bed after a big wave of vibrations. It didn't last long and I woke up. But then I did it again, and very wobbly got out of bed. I looked immediately at the night stand (which occasionally has an empty or nearly empty wine glass). I remembered that there wasn't one last night irl, but I hoped there would be one there if I LDed and sure enough, there was my favorite stemless white wine glass. I picked it up and chucked it at the wall, and it shattered. Though with not much noise.

I went to the bedroom door, and it was locked, so I had to unlock it before I could open it. Duh, I know, but still funny that I actually had to do that. I was blind in my left eye, still a little wobbly, and feeling like I might lose the dream. So I just shouted "more lucidity and clarity" and told myself that I don't have eyeballs or eyelids right now. All my vision is a huge panoramic movie screen. My vision got to a functional 80% I'd say.

I continued to the kitchen, and literally ran like a school girl to the little piece of paper under the olive oil. I was so happy that it was there! In real life, I had written:

      Hey Ophelia, you
      still dreaming?

      - Ophelia *
Now the paper just had a few polka dots, and 3 fluffy cows that looked like they were playing leap frog. I'm gonna draw it for the draw your dreams thread later, it was pretty funny. Anyway, I laughed out loud in the dream at that, then went to the pantry for more wine glasses. I pulled them out one by one and threw them. Some would break and a couple just bounced.

Then I went for the eggs in the fridge. They were right were I normally keep them. I took them out and chucked them at the wall, at the cat, and at a random DC who walked by. My cat didn't like it, and I actually apologized to her haha (real life Sofie thanked me this morning with a nice, wet hair ball). Anyway, I'm kicking myself now because if I had thought of it, I coulda asked that DC if he wanted a wish granted. Oh well.

I chucked a few more wine glasses
, then finally woke up. I feel like I could have done more, but sometimes I think I just get bored in a lucid dream when I accomplish the goals I had made myself remember, instead of trying to remember more goals. I'll need to make myself remember a couple auxiliary goals just in case I nail the main ones
    2. Epic Kigndom hearts

by , 03-11-2013 at 11:05 AM (Tales from the sun chaser.)
it starts out like a movie I'm just watching all this stuff happen with small cameos. And finally I'm thrown into the streets of Agrabah. While browsing through the merchandise I see the kid from the jungle book mowgli. He smiles at me, and and asks if I had any questions. I asked him where was Baloo. "He's off in another mission." he said, in broken English. Oh well. Then my perspective changes to Mowgli's, and he hops on a chimp who takes him all over through the city. Music is playing and the sun is slowly setting.

They spy on Jafar, who just got the lamp. His wish was to create more genies (some how this translated to castles) in which he destroyed, and tons of gold and jewels would burst out. Then my POV switches to spectator inside the castle. The King is worried about what's happening to all those other castles as they get decimated one by one. For some reason he has two daughters, and one is fake, and the other is real. He's letting them both stay until they can prove it. The castle starts shaking, Jafar pops out of no where in a cloud of red smoke, and starts making demands.

I (real me) arrived and told the king to get out of here. Real Jasmine said' she'd stop Jafar at whatever cost. Jafar say's he's after some treasure, that wasn't reproduced when all the other castles were created, so he had to personally show up there. But get this....Sora show's up and tries to hit him with his keyblade, but Jafar teleports back to the throne.

The center floor starts opening up and there's a green rock free floating in it. Sora jumps, grabs it, throws it to me, and I jumped and threw him my car keys. We both caught each others items at the same time. Sora's keyblade got more powerful and I gained the power of magic. Aladdin shows up with Genie, and we all rushed the throne.

Instead of straight action, we're fighting turned based (ala old final fantasy). Sora and Aladin are in the front row, and I'm in the back with Genie, and Jasmine. Sora and Aladdin's attacks are pretty quick, and we have to wait a while for magic. It took me a while to think of any attacks until I heard Sora say "Thungaga". The attack stunned Jafar, and I went on to cast Blizgaga. Ice shards pelted him over and over. Then I yelled Ifrit. He came out from above curled up and set him on fire. I was just about to summon Peter Pan, and something happened.....

I ended up at some random store with M, and we were talking about a whole lot of nothing. When we left it, I realized we were in Disneyworld. I was so disappointed that the dream ended shifted like this. I just wanted to go back even if I lost lucidity. The next thing I know, Genie shows up riding on carpet with Jasmine, and Aladdin and Sora arrive out of the crowd. He says he knows where Jafar is and he needs our help. Then he asked for everyone names. Sora says "I'm Sora, this is Aladdin, and Wade". Genie says "oh we don't need wade, he wasn't much help". I told him he was probably jealous that I was doing the most magic damage. Some of the people in the crowed laughed, and Genie told us to make sure we're ready before we head out. I came back first, and woke up while waiting on the others to arrive.

      March 10, 2013 - 5.5 hours in - 20 seconds - WBTB, SSILD, MILD

Woke via alarm after 4.5 hours and got in a comfortable chair and did about 6 SSILD cycles of gradually increasing length. Afterward I did a mantra of "1, I know I'm dreaming, 2, I know I'm dreaming, 3..." while trying to visualize each digit up to 25, then went back to bed.

It is a sunny winter day and I am at a park on a hill, with some fences for sports fields, and a park shelter. A couple of friends took me here. I can't remember why I am there so I call them on the phone and ask what to do. I think that this seems like it might be a dream and plug my nose and can breathe.

I look at the paved path leading to the parking lot on this hill and how the snow is piled in between these, and remark to myself how realistic that is nevertheless. I (impulsively) run back down the hill on the park road to the lower parking lot where the car is but feel it fading as I do this. I jump directly into the side of the car but the dream is gone before I reach it.

This ends in a non-lucid, fairly obvious false awakening where I left on a laptop I don't even have. I wake up for real not too long after this.

    4. Don't Even Think About It!

      by , 03-10-2013 at 10:56 PM
There is nothing scarier than starting out at my house for me. There is always something scary about this home I'm living in. It was dark at the time, and I was walking all over my home looking for something interesting. Nothing much happened really. I only remember two unique moments. The first one happened when I first realized I was lucid.

I was in my background, there was now light outside. I'm standing behind my sister's bedroom building. I'm standing there wondering. Eventually I wondered too much and thought of something/someone I met before in this same exact place. I thought of a dark, scary reaper. I immediately stopped thinking about it but when I first looked up in front of the garage, I saw it.

At first, I was scared that I had to see this reaper again and even seeing it again brought back the memories I had when I first had nightmares about this thing a few years ago when I first found out about Dream Views(2009). It was a pleasure meeting the reaper again. I ran up to reaper and before I could do anything, it disappeared(I might not remember correctly).

I thought about another great idea to do while I was lucid. Well, it wasn't the best but now that it happened, I thought it was worth to do. At first, I wanted to have sex but I was already tired of doing that(I'm guessing), so I I thought about trying to summon Quynh, the most childish and bitchiest girl I've ever met back in high school, but I still admire her. The first technique I tried using was, "I'm going to yell out your name and move my right hand back and hope you will be there." Surprisingly, it worked! Not only did it summon her but it looked a little bit like the REAL her. Though, what I really wanted was to see her just the way she was back when I first met her in piano class. She was really beautiful before throwing a lot of hate on me. But she's Vietnamese, so I suppose that's why she doesn't want to know me anymore, she'd rather go out with one of her own or someone who's not so in to her...

    5. Love, Fear, and Calea Crowds

      by , 03-10-2013 at 05:12 PM
Well... this was an interesting night. The first thing I'd have to say I noticed was that all of my dreams took place at home. And not a home rendered wrongly or somewhere else perceived as home, just my regular old house. Doesn't seem like that happens too often with this many dreams, but it's probably just a coincidence.

Anyway, this time I took 50 mg of zinc at 9:30 and smoked some calea at ~10:00, and then I smoked more for technical WBTBs at 5:22 and 7:40, according to my phone log. This night actually started out very unpleasant.... I passed out with my laptop in bed and must have fallen asleep on my arm at a weird angle, because around like 2-3 in the morning I had this odd hypnagogia of orange dots in a grid setup expanding to orange circles with a weird hissing sound, and then I woke up with a high level of anxiety and very extreme right arm pain. I freaked out and ran to the bathroom to inspect myself and my whole perception was going hazy and getting really bright, and I ended up taking a couple Librium pills as well, which are chlordiazepoxide, a close relative of diazepam, or Valium, hoping to calm myself down. Like half an hour to an hour after that, I woke up again with a lot of stomach discomfort and had a very uncomfortable bathroom visit, which I blame on all the pizza I ate yesterday and the day before.

That was finally the end of the festivities though, and I hadn't had any actual dreams before all of that, so after I fell asleep again from that point on is where my night really began.

#1 - I wondered when this would happen again. [Non-Lucid]

I don't remember how exactly, but I met a girl and I want to say her name was Jessica (and I was looking up pictures of Jessica Rabbit cosplay last night, so maybe that had something to do with it?), and I invited her over to my house because I had some feelings for her. Once she came over, the dream continued on under the impression that we were already in a relationship together and this was the first time she was visiting my house. I can't remember exactly what it was we were doing... watching TV or playing games or something, but we were just cuddling and acting all cute with each other the whole time, and then later we were eating a meal and my dad and one of his friends were standing out on the back porch and he was peeking in to tell me some odd instructions for burying something in his room that my mom was purposely ignoring. Then I gave Jessica a tour of where our food was, the two fridges and the pantry, which were completely packed with all kinds of heavily-detailed food (influenced by the calea?), and she made some joke about the cereal that I can't recall now. I was really happy to be with her, she was really cool and collected and definitely my type, but then as we were headed to my room I woke up.

      #2 - I get the reference, but... Butters? [Non-Lucid]

I believe I was waiting for a game to be delivered in the mail, when a group of policemen showed up at the front door. I barely cracked it open to talk to them, and after a little discussion they held up some chemistry glassware and told me that my dad and "my friend" (who I immediately perceived as Butters from South Park) are both hardcore cookers of random drugs and they were after them. This was very clearly influenced by the fact that I just started rewatching Breaking Bad with a friend of mine. They asked me to get him and tell him to go out back, and I went to tell him what was going on and then returned to the front door, and I started freaking out knowing that they were going to search the house because I didn't want them to find my stoner stuff too, but then I woke up.

#3 - Well this dream was pretty dark.... [DILD]

I was again in my house with my parents and a group of friends and there was some killer with a gun stalking us, she kept moving all around the house trying to get a good view of the inside through the windows so she could shoot us. My parents took my friends somewhere to hide safely while I just kept hiding around in the house in strategic places where I couldn't be seen, but where I could just barely peek out every now and then and continue to track the killer's movements. Eventually it seemed like she wasn't going to be able to get us easily, so I ran to my bathroom where there were no visible windows and met up with my parents there. I asked them where everyone was and they just laughed and told me that they weren't actually my parents, they were people that the killer payed to disguise themselves like that so they could get close to me undetected and take me out. My heart sank, and at least one of them pulled out a handgun. I had to wrestle with them until I could get one free, and then I managed to take them down and shot them both in the head multiple times to make sure that they were dead, because they kept moving. I headed back out and my memory gets a little blurry here, but somehow I managed to track the killer down from the inside and shot her too before she could shoot me.

At that point a few of my friends and some family members came out from hiding and we all were celebrating. But then this TV show came on in the living room with lots of shooting going on and will still perceived it as people coming after us, so I pick up this big machine gun out nowhere and start shooting at them, but just one shot at a time. I managed to shoot one guy and felt good abot myself, but then my cousin A, who's birthday party we went to last night (and ate pizza), just rolls her eyes and takes the gun from me. Somehow (I'm not sure if I looked away and back at her or what) she had actually entered the TV show completely and was rapid-firing at everyone and easily takes down all of them. Around this time I randomly
became lucid. I actually managed to remember that I had smoked all that calea, which is really a first for me, and I decided to try to jump into the TV screen as well which was now in the area of the living room where the corners of the couches meet for some reason. I just wanted to hug A, but as I jumped my perception just zoomed in and then floated around the room for a couple seconds before restabilizing, and a couple DCs (I want to say they were my parents?) just looked at me like I was weird. I looked over and the TV was now back in its proper place and there was some Star Wars game just sitting there on the startup screen. I decided to try again with entering that game, but just as I was about to go for it I woke up.

#4 - Why couldn't we have just watched it in person? ._. [Non-Lucid]

J and Z, this girl I just met recently, came over to watch some sort of Lincoln play that was going on somewhere in my house, but we were going to watch it through random TV screens around the house instead of just seeing the actual thing. I can't remember exactly what it was about, but I know that a lot of the speech Lincoln was giving was based on that clip from a show I really can't remember the name of right now, but it's the one where it starts with the girl asking a panel of politicians why America is the greatest country in the world and the one guy goes off on this long rant about how it isn't. Unfortunately we kept changing rooms trying to get a better reception or a bigger TV screen, and we basically missed all of it. Afterward everyone was leaving, because there were a lot of people here, and J hitched a ride back to his campus (in another state ) with some girls who were going to some bar or club called "88" that was supposedly right next to it. This other big group of girls was about to leave too, but some random guy came in the house and told them that their car got towed because they didn't have a parking permit to park on the street in front of my house when there were already so many cars there, and they would've known that would happen if they had just listened to him before instead of just brushing him off. One of the guys still at the house volunteered to drive a couple of them home, and I asked where the rest of them were headed, but before they could respond I woke up.

And that's it. All of these dreams were actually pretty vivid too, so I suppose the supplements did their job.

    6. Another LD, finally...

by , 03-10-2013 at 02:27 PM (Fennecgirl's Collection of Dreams)
I haven't updated my dream journal in ages, whoops.

Anyway, I FINALLY had another lucid dream last night!

It started out as a false awakening; I don't remember what made me realize I might be dreaming, but I remember I was standing in the kitchen at the time. I counted my fingers, and I was PRETTY sure I'd counted six. I wasn't entirely sure I'd counted correctly, though, so I decided to check my other hand just to make sure. However, before I could count my fingers, I noticed something else that was a dead giveaway - my Hylian crest ring (which I wear on the index finger of my left hand) had a different symbol on it, and a larger version of that symbol also appeared across my index, middle, and ring fingers (think like a henna tattoo, but golden and slightly illuminated).

My mom was in the kitchen, so I started talking to her, since I knew I had to try to keep talking or actively focusing on something (I wake up within moments otherwise). After a moment of talking, I suddenly said, "Did you know this is a dream? This is how I know." I showed her the ring and the image across my fingers, which changed each time I looked at it. The last time I looked at it, I remember that the ring had a picture of a tree, and on my fingers were the mountains behind it. It was actually really cool.

I knew I needed to come up with ideas of things I could only do in a dream, and I knew it would be best to start with simple dream control techniques as practice. I announced that I was going to try to phase through the door (a skill that might come in handy in a later dream, right?), only to end up slamming into the door and not passing through. Oh well, I tried.

I asked my mom if she had any other suggestions of things I could try, but she asked me to leave her alone for a moment because she was busy cooking. Normally, this would have been fine, but, since this was a dream, I had to find a way to keep myself in the dream in the meantime.

I remember chattering away to myself for a moment before stopping and accidentally waking up.
    7. meh....legs, tiny black holes, and a dress shop

      by , 03-10-2013 at 01:45 PM
And I promise. All without the aid of any "dream enhancer."

I'm pretty sure I know the hidden meanings, but I want to write it down anyway, cause parts of it are so darn weird.

It started out, with me being about 4-5 years old. My mother even had her 70's hairstyle and she was young again It was night time and I had a twin sister (IRL I dont even have a sibling, let alone a twin). Somehow I found out when I was 5 that I had my right leg cut off just below the hip (mid thigh say), I was walking around on a prosthetic leg (ugly plastic barbie doll leg made for "5 year old me"). Then I was healed - suddenly my natural leg was back under me, and no one wanted to tell me that I had once even lost my leg or worn a prosthetic - it was like "pretend it never happened", but somehow I learned that this whole thing had happened, I had a moment of lucid realization (wow, shocker to hear that at a lucid dreaming forum), and suddenly I was filled with exhilaration because I knew about this, and I knew I wasn't supposed to know about it. For some reason, the "missing leg" also included a "missing twin sister", they were somehow connected. Dream changes.

I'm in a strange little dress shop, filled with ORANGE, and in-your-face colorful clothes that I wouldn't be caught dead in. A friend of mine named Ace was there, and he had something in his hand, looked like a tiny galaxy but it was a tiny black hole/vortex that was sucking everything, even light, he was catching these things, they were quite a few of them hidden in the clothing of this shop, and we were going around finding them. I was cautioning him about touching them, saying "You might lose a leg doing that so be careful" and I'm telling him my story about how I had to wear a prosthetic leg as a child (YEH, mind fucked me, the dream from before was now a back story to this one and whats hilarious is that in this segment of the dream, I was aware that my story was from the previous dream).

Dream switched and we were hiding in a huge building, like a school, only we were hiding in a stairway that went UP, and DOWN, and you couldn't see the ceiling or floor. There was a window so you could see outside, and the weather was rainy. There was fog all around, sometimes even in the stairway. I felt like I had to get something, so I woke up.

      Prosthetic leg/losing a leg

      • not having a leg to stand on
      • feeling crippled
      • losing my partner, watching him die makes me feel alone and I'm scared
      • losing part of myself
      • my mom being gone
      • feeling like i cant make it on my own

      Tiny black holes

      • living life with no hope for tomorrow
      • playing with fire
      • feeling out of control
      • feeling like I can't stop it
      • fighting to control an unstoppable force of nature

      Colorful clothing

      • having to "put on" a persona in order to survive
      • spiritual armor

hiding in the stairway with no end to up or down in sight

      • its the best thing to do when you cant move or do anything
      • waiting for a direction so i can move with it

i woke up and understood that its a dream, because picture was bad. I went to the entrance and near the lift saw several boxes with the different tools - hammers, spanners and so on. I desided to break some of them, but couldn't. The tools bent but didn't break. I heard the sound of coming lift, afraid of something, went through the door into my flat and awoke.

    9. Weird LDs I had last week

      by , 03-10-2013 at 06:28 AM
      3rd of March:
I was casually going through what seemed to be a rather large science center with all sorts of weird stuff for ages, then just a little bit before it became lucid, I was using some weird sink that was invisible, but when water touched it, it became like a mirror for a bit, and within a minute after that I suddenly decided that I was having a dream, and so I went and [well, I'll leave this part out, involves two people, let's leave it at that ] and while I was doing what I was doing... my senses(touch anyway) started blending in with real life, so I could begin to feel my bed in real life, the excact was I was sleeping on it, and in the middle but towards the end of that, same thing, but with sight, and boom, end of dream.

      4th of March:
Went to sleep as per normal(outside of the dream), woke up at about 3:30AM to get a drink as my mouth was really dry. As I went back to bed, I realised I forgot to set my alarm so I did, went to sleep while saying to myself that I was dreaming, and weirdly enough I started slipping into the dream straight away, and it lasted for about... less than a minute or two. Woke up again, did the same thing and went to sleep again, same results. Woke up one last time, took forever to get to sleep, and no more lucid dream
Also, I know that I actually did wake up and go back go sleep otherwise I would have been late for my class...

Just a random note: On the 3rd of march, Inception was on tv, and I watched it on my computer but only got half way through(had to go to bed). Coincidence much?

      Nap #1:
      Dream 1:

I wake up, take off headphones, can still hear binaurals. I do some stabilization, rubbing hands. As i go towards balcony dream just fades out.
I wake up for a short period of time.

      Dream 2(fragment):

I was at home watching some anime and dad suddenly entered room and started talking that he hates that certain dude from that anime. He explained it that they were in the same bath house(somehow), and anime dude was the only one not naked and was laughing at him.

      Dream 3(fragment):

I was browsing some stuff on my PC and writing DJ entry, then i got to change chair and as i got into different chair i got paralyzed and dream faded out.

      Nap #2:
      Dream 1:

I wake up, take off headphones, can still hear binaurals. I do some stabilization, touching bed with hands and rubbing hands. As i go towards balcony dream just fades out again.
I wake up for a short period of time.

      Dream 2(fragment):

I was helping friend with anime translation or something and we were not able to find meaning of 'Hakuda'. We had idea that it had something to do with ice(Apparently not).
    11. Boring Stuff - My Second WILD

      by , 03-09-2013 at 04:04 PM
I don't really remember my first set of dreams much since when I woke up, I went straight into some others, but...

A lot of it was an FPS, but I don't remember much except that I was using an assault rifle from Halo, and as soon as I complained about wanted a battle rifle, I found one on the ground. I then laughed and said, "ask and you shall receive!" or "speak of the devil!" or something like that.

Later, I'm walking down this hill that I had gone down before when I was on a hunting trip with Arthur from Merlin. I wasn't Merlin, but I had the same job. I was trying to collect the grouse that he had shot, but I was finding them really gross since they were dead and had been for a while, and was having a lot of trouble even picking them up.

In my next dream, I entered it with a WILD straight into my kitchen, where my Mom was standing in the room and my brother was sitting at the bar. I walked around the island and stood at the other side of the bar from my brother, looking around. My vision was getting pretty annoying. My brother said something but I shushed him and said that I wanted to focus on becoming more clear/lucid. I looked at my hands, but they seemed tiny and far away. I focused on making them seem closer and more realistic for a little bit, and it was working a little, but then I decided to work on my surroundings instead. For some reason when I looked at things from a certain angle, I wasn't able to see below my glasses, like when a game glitches. I was really annoyed by it, but I didn't even think to just take off my glasses.

      by , 03-09-2013 at 09:34 AM
      A very hazy lucid dream...

I became lucid at the end of a nightmare before this.

I find myself in the middle of a grassy plateau between a circle of mountains. Knowing that I'm dreaming, I begin to jump with the intend of jumping high! I think it works. I see two giant Mario-like hammers that are trying to hit me. One nearly hits me, but I put my hand in front and smash it away. I decide to FUS ROH DAH! Then I realise, a Skyrim-like dragon would be great. I put my hand over my eyes and expect a dragon to be in front. This works as well! I jump over the dragon, and hit him with my 'FUS ROH DAH' a couple of times.

I can't remember a thing after this. I might paint it as I have been recently thinking of painting my dreams like the famous surrealist painters like Dali!

    13. Cowboy Bebop

I simmered 5 Tablespoons each of mugwort and peppermint leaves in 3 cups water for 20 minutes before bed so it would be ready to go when I woke for WBTB

      Dose time: 3:30ishAM

      MILD

My daughter, D, is watching me edit a photo on my laptop. The picture is blurry but it soon clears up. It is a close up action shot of my non cartoon self having sex with either Elektra Ovirowa or Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop. It's hard to tell because it was a close up vag shot! I become horrified and tell D not to look. I have to cover her eyes while I struggle to shut the comp down. Nothing will respond. Finally I just close the lid.

I have a micro awakening and realize that I see a lot of HI. I think I should WILD but really want MILD to work. I see a post on the forum with the title: YOU SHOULD WILD WITH MUGWORT. I look closer but the letters look Russian now. I click on the link.

Cowboy Bepop DEILD - Wake time: a little after 5AM

I have another micro awakening and decide maybe I should take my own advice. I DEILD into a Cowboy Bebop dream. I am running in a cartoon world from Vincent and Elektra Ovirowa. The landscape and animation reminds me of Borderlands. I see a tunnel and crawl into it. Now, I am trapped so I turn and wait with a drawn pistol. I see her shadow peering in with a gun. I shoot. I get a brief visual of a head shot but it's like a clip from the movie when the idiot dude gets shot in the head on the train.

I lose focus and can't think of what to do next.
The dream sort of hiccups and my subC continues non lucid.

I am on a contact device like one of the computers used in the movie. It has a highly graphical touch screen. I tell the kid to get Faye Valentine to pick me up. Then, for some reason, I throw the device on top of a cliff.

Suddenly, Vincent emerges from the shadows and stands over me. He is smirking.

I see a circular symbol and words above him like video game stats.
      LVL 12 PLAYER
      MAROONED
      NO WEAPON

I know we must now race to reach the extraction point. It is where I threw the device on top of the cliff. The first one there wins. I think of a cave system that I ran through earlier to reach the top faster. (False Memory?) I see it in my mind and I run that direction.

My perspective switches and I see a strange bird flying to the extraction point at high speed. It is a cross of these two birds from Rescuers Down Under

      My son wakes me up.

    14. Mantras in the Green Valley

      by , 03-08-2013 at 04:11 PM
I was talking with NewArtemis yesterday about mantras and lucid dreaming and apparently the conversation stuck... well, for me at least. Popped a B6 and chowed down on some raisins before bed and got this pair of dreams. This is really a micro-lucid followed by a full LD, but they're so related that I'm just journaling them together.

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

Lucid #74: Mantras in the Green Valley

I am in a large, brightly lit room of white marble. There are a lot of strange, rectangular foam blocks lying around. I decide that they represent sleep cycles or maybe chunks of REM. I say out loud, "You will have a lucid dream!" I feel like this mantra is very important. Who am I saying this to?

Now I see NewArtemis perhaps ten feet away, standing there looking sleepily around, apparently not noticing me. She has one or two foam blocks at her feet but I think she needs more. I toss a couple more of these at her and they bounce off of her and land nearby. I'm disappointed that I can't seem to add REM (or whatever) to her sleep. I say again, "You will have a lucid dream!" but it seems to make no impression on her.

I decide that she's already asleep and dreaming. "You're dreaming right now!" I tell her. "Don't you remember your mantra?" I put a hand on her left shoulder and she gives me this bleary-eyed look.
I suddenly get it straight that I'm the one who's dreaming. "This is a lucid dream! Okay, now you!" I say, but she stares at me uncomprehendingly. I quickly wake up.

Try to DEILD but accidentally think about work. (Gah, rookie mistake!) Awake for a while. Then back into a non-lucid...

I'm in the back seat of a jeep that's pulled over on the side of the road. The jeep is being driven by my friend TB. Someone I don't know is in the passenger seat and he's pouring his heart out to TB because he had to shoot someone in self-defense. TB tells him not to worry about it and makes some sort of slightly offensive joke about it. The passenger gets even more upset, but TB calms him down.

TB puts the jeep back on the main road and ahead of us is a one-lane bridge with 10-feet concrete walls on either side of it. Looking further out, I see that we are in the most beautiful green valley that I've seen in my entire life.
I feel like it's the most brilliant green that I've ever seen in my life and realize that I have to be dreaming.

Now the jeep has become a long van with four or five rows of bench seats. I float out of my seat and swim toward the front of the van. TB is still driving, but the passenger is someone else. I think it's Xanous.

As I pass the third or so row of seats, I see NewArtemis to my left, looking out the window at the green valley. "[NewArtemis]! This is a lucid dream." She looks at me, then looks back out the window, then back at me again. But now she has transformed nto a blonde woman in her mid-40s. I decide that this isn't working, so I swim further up.

I make it to the second row of seats, w/ TB and (presumably) Xanous right in front. I look out the window and see a mountain rising in the distance. Now I realize that we're driving toward Angel Falls for Task of the Year! Things start feeling unstable, and I reach out to grab onto something. I grab onto a nearby female DC (a stranger) to bring myself back into the scene, but things don't stabilize. The skin on the lady's face begins to glow slightly orange, and everything fades out but this glow. Then
      I'm awake.

    15. I almost forgot what it was like to have lucids like this; the dream world is incredible....

      by , 03-08-2013 at 03:38 PM
So just for the record, I've gotten lucid three times in the past four days. >.> But I haven't felt like recording them because the one from Tuesday just totally disappeared from memory, and the one from yesterday I remember basically nothing of either, but I remember all of the non-lucid bits both before and after it. I guess I might add that one in here.... But the first one, I want to say that nothing important happened. But I might just want that to be the case. ._. There's really no way to say for sure. The second one... I'm pretty certain that the only thing I did was phasing, which is of course nothing new for me. I remember experiencing it and everything, I just don't really remember the experience itself. Oh well, the one from last night very much made up for it....

Oh, and for the last few days I've been taking 400 mg of L-theanine a day, divided into two doses of 200 mg with one in the morning and one in the late afternoon or early evening, usually.

      Yesterday

#1 - But why are we in a skyscraper to begin with? [Non-Lucid]

I was in some school class in a huge skyscraper in some downtown area, and there were random people I graduated from high school with, this girl who sits behind me in my speech class I'm taking this semester at college, and my parents, for some reason. There was a massive storm coming our way with tornadoes visible through the windows and everything, and I was holding my mom's hand as we were all scared. There's a flashforward and things get hazy, but I remember seeing people evacuate but thinking that it wasn't on the same day but it was the same "windy season"....

#2 - Who would build a bathroom like this!? >_< [DILD]

The details of this have gotten hazier since I didn't care to write it down at first, but there was some gigantic computer mouse whose cord stretched all the way across some city streets, and it got pulled away and I tried to chase it but lost track of it. I remember seeing my old high school friend AB's car, but then things get blurry.... This is around where I became lucid and phased but then my next memory picks again at the non-lucid point. :T I was spending the night somewhere with AB, M, and these guys J and Ma who I met through M. The next morning, I woke up and started blasting some really heavy club music and M got excited, and her boyfriend D, who's suddenly there, turns to me and says something like "We can catch up later." I then realized that I needed to go change my clothes so I went to the bathroom to do so, but there were big windows all over the door so it was very easy to see inside. Everyone was oriented in the direction of the windows, but just not looking directly into them, but of course it was making me very uncomfortable at the thought of starting to change. J was saying maybe they should turn in a different direction, but then I woke up.

      Today

Last night, I took 250 mg of choline bitartrate immediately before going to bed. I'm fairly certain this had an effect, particularly on the lucid.

#1 - This would have been great to become lucid for!! [Non-Lucid]

I was playing some bizarre new PSP game the whole time, and there actually was something going on in the rest of the dream too but I pretty much missed it all because I was so focused on playing, so I don't really remember the plot anymore. What I remember about the game was that it had a setup where you had a team of playable characters that reminded me of the structure of NIS games, but it was mixed with a simulated life raising element like chao from the Sonic Adventure and Sonic Advance games, and the actual creature and level designs were sort of Pikmin-like. I really wish I could've played more of it because it seemed really interesting, but that's about all I can recall of it, and I remember walking up stairs or something maybe to see my speech professor... but no more solid details than that.

I woke up from this dream with a very strong headache. I'm fairly certain that my head was smashed into this part of the backboard of my bed and that's what caused it, because the pain slowly went away in a way that I can only relate to when you wake up with a numb arm and it slowly returns to normal, but it was my first time having that type of thing happen so I can only guess. But I really hope that that's what happened because otherwise it would mean I woke up with a severe unexplained headache. >___>

      #2 - I could've told them this would happen... somehow. [Non-Lucid]

I was in a high school PE class (though I think the setting might actually have been my elementary school, sort of?) with O and people kept trying to give him balls that corresponded to different sports, but I remember equating these to video game weapons in my mind and thinking that they were doing it wrong because they didn't realize that "his growth charts are unique". Eventually he decided to play what I think was registered as either baseball or golf... but it's really just a bunch of balls bouncing around and people chasing after them with no clear goals. He makes the "winning play" I believe when at least one of the teams is "frozen" at 23 seconds left on the timer, but it switches to this weird TV view for it that only shows symbols to represent the player. He was excited that they run, but due to the odd way I saw it play out I asked him for verification that he actually was the reason they won, claiming that "they only showed the overhead", or some such nonsense. Suddenly he got all depressed at the thought because he didn't realize that he had won it, he thought he was just a part of it, so we asked some other guy and he said that that was the case. Suddenly O sank into despair, and this guy PR who I've known since elementary school tries to ask him what's wrong and cheer him up or something, but he proclaims that he may never play that sport again, and then walks out of the gym all dejected as class ends. On the way out I was trying to think of a way to explain his reaction to PR, but I couldn't really think of a good way to phrase it before I woke up.

#3 - I think it might have been inspired by Buffy? [DILD]

This was an odd driving dream, and I'm fairly certain I've had something like this happen before.... Basically, I was driving home in the snow at night, and I was stuck driving from the back seat where there was an accelerator but no breaks. As a result, I was forced to drive very slowly and frequently take my foot off the gas so that I wouldn't gain too much momentum. I have no idea why I didn't think to just climb up to the front seat, but I know that there was a car driving behind me too, so maybe I just didn't want to mess with the situation and cause any trouble. We came over this bridge in my neighborhood, and then when I turned on to my street it was suddenly daytime. Somehow I managed to go too far beyond my house though, and then this car started coming down the street in the other direction right for me, and I perceived someone else as being in the car with me at this point too, but I don't recall ever seeing anyone.... I started thinking "shit shit shit" because I couldn't stop the car or change the direction it was going in very easily, and then we ended up headbutting the other car. This is all unbelievably vivid... perhaps a mix of the supplements and the adrenaline boost? I started trying to rationalize this situation because I didn't want to have to actually be in a car crash again, and then I thought to myself "Wait, could this be a dream? This whole thing is pretty odd...." I climbed into the front seat and by then I had a feel for my state of mind and was sure of it, so I became lucid.

At this point I looked around at the street and the sky and just stared. This was one of those lucids that leaves you completely in awe from start to finish as you repeatedly tell yourself "There's no way a dream could be this real." As I looked over the neighborhood, there was no distribution of focus as in a regular dream, it was all fully rendered as a single image. It seemed exactly as if I was seeing it in waking life in every way, minus the snow. I ended up driving back down to where my house was (and I think it was using my first car which is long gone), and when I got there my house was pretty different. It was tall and thin, spanning multiple floors, whereas the real one has only one floor and is much more wide than tall. There were also large windows spanning most of the front face, and it had some kind of Greek-esque architectural design for what looked almost like a tomb on the ground floor, and it was covered in plant vines and everything. There was some large inscription at the top of this part, which was totally made out of stone, and I didn't get a good look at all of it but I do remember seeing the word "SOUL" in large print. Again, this was all extremely vivid. I wanted to go inside and check it out, as the front door was still right there where it should have been in the middle of that framework, but about that time I started feeling a headache again and
      woke up.

*sigh* That would've been cool to explore. That headache, too... not the real one, but this one in the lucid. It felt like the ones I get when I smoke too much or the last few times I tripped. I'm really starting to wonder if it's hippocampal in origin, and if the choline brought it out.... I guess this break from smoking will probably help in more ways than I thought, because it's going to be annoying if that headache keeps making an appearance in lucids. :/ Hopefully it was just a one-time thing though, and overall I still consider this dream very successful.
